There are many versions of the well known arm throw, single and double arm throw as well as different gripping . It is a throw when done with excellent timing can win the match by #ippon or by throwing the opponent down into #shimewaza #oseikomiwaza or straight into a #submission. #moroteseoinage Morote Seoinage (Two Hand Shoulder Throw) #ipponseoinage #Seoinage (One Arm Shoulder Throw) #ontariotopteambrazilianjiujitsuandmuaythai #judo #bjj #bjjtechnique #bjjthrows #throws #takedowns #bjj4life https://www.instagram.com/p/BtIBkjth1cb/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1nz68idkfk5bm

Although I suffered an injury while shooting this segment, I pushed through. Gotta teach Grace to be #tough 😖Here’s a good way to begin to understand the off-balancing for a #seoinage. She takes a break once she hits the mat to refuel with her lollipop. Whatever works. #dad #coach #jiujitsugirls #bjj #judo #judogirls #takedown #jiujitsulifestyle #mma #martialarts #cutekids #kidsmartialarts #internaljiujitsu (at Long Island City) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bmg1ltjlKkc/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=7g5tjuwbxdkt

I'm grateful that I get to train #judo and #jiujitsu as much as I do!!! My training partners/ #ukes beat me up day in and day out (nothing is easy, but everything is earned), but God is great and has blessed me to do what I love!!! I wouldn't have it any other way, thank you @carlsongracieteam for always letting make as much noise as we do 🤣🤣!!! #bluebeltbjj #judogreenbelt #carlsongraciefamilia #murrietajudoclub #bluecrashmat #seoinage #ogoshi #osotogari #judotraining #randori #judothrows #nogijudo #whatptsd #john1513 (at Carlson Gracie Brazilian JiuJitsu Temecula and Murrieta) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPFmMg9pxzObB8rCOKn3TI-x9riK5yNA6YJWAk0/?utm_medium=tumblr

柔道 (Judo)Seoi nage (背負い投げ?) is a shoulder throw, one of the traditional forty throws of Judo as developed by Jigoro Kano. It belongs to the first group, Dai Ikkyo, of the traditional throwing list, Gokyo (no waza), of Kodokan Judo. It is also part of the current 67 Throws of Kodokan Judo. It is classified as a hand technique, Te-Waza. The specific techniques of morote-seoi-nage (two hands seoi-nage) or eri-seoi are generally called seoi-nage. The distinctive technical aspect of this classification is that tori (the one executing the technique) grips with his two hands[1] as opposed to Ippon Seoi Nage in which only one hand remains gripping while the other slides under uke's (the one receiving the technique) armpit. Seoi nage is one of the highest-scoring techniques in Judo.[2] Renown seoinage martial artists are Isao Okano and Toshihiko Koga.

#roninz #jujutsudo #jujitsu #jiujitsu #seoinage (hier: RoninZ Kampfkunstschule)

Toshihiko Koga (古賀 稔彦 Koga Toshihiko, born November 21, 1967) is a retired judoka and Olympic champion who competed in the -71 kg and -78 kg divisions. Koga is regarded as having perhaps the greatest ippon seoi nage ever.BiographyKoga was born in Kitashigeyasu, Saga, Japan. He began judo in elementary school. He traveled to Tokyo during junior-high school to enter Kodogakusha, a judo school later attended by Olympic gold medalists Hidehiko Yoshida and Makoto Takimoto. He continued his education at the Nippon Sport Science University,  and captured several awards including five consecutive championships at  the Kodokan Cup and six consecutive championships at the All-Japan Judo Championships (all in the 71 kg division). He placed 3rd in the 1987 World Judo Championships held in Essen, and was chosen to participate in the 1988 Summer Olympics, where he lost in the 3rd round of the competition. Koga returned to the Olympics in 1992 after winning the 1989 and 1991 World Judo Championships, but seriously injured his left knee during a randori (sparring) session against Hidehiko Yoshida, which prevented him from using his best technique; the Ippon Seoinage.[1] He won the gold medal overcoming this injury, and was given the JOC Sports Award by the Japanese Olympic Committee.Koga briefly retired from competitive judo after his victory at the Olympics, but made his return with a gold medal at the 1995 World Judo Championships in Chiba, Japan. He suffered a surprising defeat by ippon in a qualification match for the 1996 Summer Olympics,  but was chosen as the representative anyway because of his past  experience in the Olympic games. He ended his third appearance at the  Olympics with a silver medal in the -78 kg division.Koga announced his final retirement from competition in 2000, and  became the head coach for the All-Japan women's judo team. In April  2003, he founded the Koga Juku, a judo school for young children, in Takatsu-ku, Kawasaki. One of his pupils, Ayumi Tanimoto, won the gold medal in the -63 kg division at the 2004 Summer Olympics. He became the head coach of the International Pacific University's judo team (located in Akaiwa, Okayama) in April 2007, and has enjoyed celebrity status in Japan as a 7th dan rank holder in judo,

REVERSE SEOI NAGE vs “DROP” MOROTE SEOI NAGE
First version : I would refrain from using that technique, unless you really, really know what you do and can execute it without hurting your partner. This throw requires very minimal effort if executed correctly. At least a lot less than regular morote.
Second version : This morote works like a kata guruma variation. It comes from two hands on his opponent’s left lapel : his left hand up, his right hand under. As he drops down, the head pops out the opposite way it would with a regular morote, resulting in a forward motion slighly to the uke’s left side.
