Started thinking about Pokemon XYZ again (it was the first fandom in which I actively participated and made fan content so I have a pretty substantial soft spot for it)

and I'm stuck between holding onto my nostalgia/staying faithful to my twelve-year-old self and shipping Ash and Serena romantically

transitioning wouldn't have saved L if it'd been done pre-Kira case, because while Light is a raging misogynist who doesn't take women seriously, he would probably go genuinely insane if he was humiliated by a woman on live TV. because how dare she?? there is, of course, an alternate version of this story in which he decidedly Does Not see her as a threat, and therefore does not pursue her as hard as he does in canon, because. well. what could this girl really do to stop him?? She's A Woman, After All. on the other hand, L transitioning During the Kira case, with their weird little relationship already fully established, would probably Guarantee her death, but I do think that it'd have bought her a little bit more time than what she was allowed in canon. because despite what Light thinks, it's actually incredibly easy to make him spiral into frenzied panic, and nothing would accomplish that faster than his rival forcibly ripping that homoerotic lifeline out of his hands. also I do think that he'd be increeeeedibly offended. you're telling him that he's been locked in this life altering battle of wits with a WOMAN for all these months?? maybe he'd have killed her with his bare hands at that point, actually. or maybe he'd have had his, "I AM KIRA; GOD OF THE NEW WORLD!!" breakdown in front of the Task Force much, muuuuch sooner. maybe a good old fashioned transition would have been all it took to crack Light's creepy Barbie doll exterior. I don't even know where to start, I think my brain is still hung up on that shit that anon sent me the other day about Rolan's baby learning how to walk and holding onto his tail for support, and Rolan catching his baby before they fall over when they lose their balance

there's literally so many little mental images that make my stomach shudder

like think about him helping his firstborn learn how to properly and safely hold their new sibling and him just looking down at his babies with the most love and adoration in his eyes !!! In his mind, he's just like oh my god this is my life, this is real, I can't believe I'm so lucky

literally just the idea of him - standing at 6'2, with his broad shoulders - holding both his newborn and toddler in his arms at the same time is enough to make me want to walk into the sewers and never come out

anything with him just being a good, loving father makes me want to cry and throw up and shit and thrash around on the ground !!! loona redesign i wanted to make her look more alt and not. idk she just felt like a mix between furry bait a cringey oc and an attempt to have a hot character, and her human form hurt me physically to look at.

so i decided to redesign her and try to embrace the cringey alt potential she had. i also bestowed her with some organs because i think she deservers those. i also wanted to get away from the constant red and black and gray colors so i tried to learn into purples and blues since those looked nice with the grays.

Okay your all getting my xyz future headcannons now because I’m super excited

So Serena and Calem are like siblings

Serena is champion and Calem has continued Augustine’s research on mega evolution seeing if there are more pokèmon who can actually mega evolve

Calem challenges Serena on a monthly basis when he gets bored

She continues to beat his ass (although it’s neck and neck every time though)

Shauna and Serena are engaged

They’ve been together for about 4 years now

Trevor and Tierno are married - been together for 7 years

Calem is still single (he will eventually find the one dw his bi ass will fall in love)

Shauna is the reigning Kalos Queen and know to most as a top coordinator

She also does furfrou trimming in her spare time

Trevor is a science teacher in santalune city whilst Tierno teaches dance at the same school

Viola and Grant are married (one of the first in the league to get married)

Alexa actually took over her sister as the gym leader when she retired early

Viola now just freelances her way through life and enjoy every second of being a bug momma

Grant is still a gym leader and has won plenty of competitions for his climbing

Ramos has fully retired and is living his best life on a farm somewhere in Kalos I like to think

Korrina eventually becomes one of the elite four

She’s won plenty of medals for her rollerblading as well

She’s also starting up her own little tournaments for trainers who want to get stronger

Valerie continues to design, becoming well known across the poke world which means she ends up travelling loads

Bonnie takes over Clemont’s gym when he ends up moving to Kanto for university

Drasna and Olympia are happily married and are living together in Anistar citywith their adopted daughter Marie (she’s in her 20s!)

Wulfric retired and his family live with him in snowbelle his eldest Lucille took up his mantle as gym leader

Siebold retired to travel the world for inspiration (hence why Korrina stepped up to fill his shoes)

Wikstrom now lives in Laverre city with his husband and son (who’ll take on his role when wikstrom believes he’s ready!)

Malva now resides in Santalune city, she’s vibing really no one knows what’s the fuck it is she does but she causes chaos still

Her neice Magda has been staying with her though

Diantha has become a very popular writer, her fantasy series is one of the best selling books

She also directs films from time to time

Augustine is chilling in alola for a while no one in the league knows if he’ll come back

He sends postcards to everyone though, they love him for it

A Little Rambling

With "Pokémon Legends: Z-A" coming, I'm trying to re-establish my version of Serena in my works. Although I told myself I would distance myself from my main muse, the return to Kalos brought me back to her.

This Serena is different than usual, for I established her as having traits of Chloe and Liko due to not encountering Ash in childhood. She begins her story as a quiet bookworm who chooses a Fennekin as her first partner. While a good person, her family situation has left her isolated growing up. Her initial friend was a boy named Calem, but they lost contact after he started his journey.

Grace tries to get her out of her shell by having her take Rhyhorn Racing lessons. Her attempts are hit and miss, and it's only when her daughter mistakes Ash for Calem that she realizes a Pokémon journey is what gets her to open up.

It works. Serena meets Ash, Clemont, Bonnie, and others, finds her calling as a Coordinator, and realizes her strength as a girl who can use Mega Evolution.

Her main Pokémon are Delphox, Fancy Pattern Vivillon, female Meowstic, Pangoro, Shiny (Mega) Absol, and Sylveon.
