re8 as classical music
badly explained cause its 2am and i dont know musical terms.
Btw if anyone has any notes or other songs that would fit them id love to see it-
Ethan: Tchaikovsky - Marche Slave
youtube
Slow start, Ethan is unknowingly ensnared in a trap. As he realizes the danger Rose (and himself) are in the song becomes tragic and determined. Fastpaced strings, frantic beats —like prey escaping from predator— keeps escalating into something more and more insurmountable. A hopeful jingle is heard as Ethan finds out he can still save his daughter. A heroic theme plays as he overcomes the horrors despite it all (a sense of control over the situation is marked by highpitched anxious flutes superimposed by a deep stable horn). Then comes the first faceoff with Miranda who taunts him and Ethan’s tragic hero theme comes to a grinding halt as his heart gets pulled out of his chest. The drums pick up again and the little soldier is off to his final battle.
Mia: Claude Debussy - Clair De Lune
youtube
Sadly the real Mia doesn’t appear much. In the Winters home, Ethan writes that Mia doesn’t want to talk about what they went through in Louisiana, which leaves him with a lot of questions unanswered. In the flashback where she desperately tries reaching out saying ‘𝘺𝘰𝘶 matter’, she still can’t help keeping secrets- maybe out of fear that Ethan wouldn’t let it go (being extremely persistent) and they’d never return to normal. The song is heartbreaking and sad as she struggles coming to terms with the guilt and grief over what she’s done and what the one she loves went through because of it. On a last somber note, her child, who takes after her father both in looks and unresolved powers, is all she has left.
Rose: Saint-Saëns - Le Cygne
youtube
A little girl whos only ever known unconditional, all encompassing love. Even before her birth, it was known that her life would be full of uncertainty. Though stolen away for possessing powers she’s not even aware of yet, she continues to live and provide a beacon of hope for her family.
Chris: Richard Wagner - Ride of the Valkyries
youtube
Comes in the dead of night and rains hell on the Winters home. In his eyes, he’s doing the right thing, but has made himself the villain to the one he was trying to protect (victorious trumpets superimposed by high fearful strings). The transport gets intercepted by Miranda and the music falls. Once Chris finally explains himself to Ethan they’re allowed a brief bit of victory (steadier horn) as their combined efforts take down Miranda’s last line of defense (Heisenberg). In the end, Chris has to live with the victory of taking down the megamycete, the guilt and grief over Ethan’s death/sacrifice, and the troubling news from BSAA. A tainted victory.
Alcina: Tchaikovsky - Swan Lake
youtube
Appears first as a noble elegant socialite. She’s at the height of her power, owns a castle and three daughters and believes herself to be Miranda’s favorite. It’s business as usual, calm serene music. Suddenly an outsider has made his way into her home, killing her daughters one by one. She reaches out to Miranda, who only cares about the stupid ceremony, and realizes everything she knew was a lie. Anger and frustration builds. The music deepens, falls and rises again as she transforms, tries taking revenge on Ethan and fails, having lost everything in one evening.
Bela, Cassandra, Daniela: Rimsky Korsakov - Flight of the Bumblebee
youtube
Self explanatory. Hurried, manic and playful.
Donna: Tchaikovsky - Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy
youtube
Entrancing but with eerie insidious undertones. Fitting for the childlike dollmaker and her little porcelain friends. Ends with a fast and chilling theme for the twisted game of hide and seek
Moreau: Edvard Grieg - Hall of the Mountain King
youtube
Quiet, lumbering and slow. Ethan takes the Rose flask back easily; threatened with losing Mother Miranda it very quickly escalates as panic sets in and Moreau throws everything he has at him. The music swells and ends with a bang.
Karl: Aram Khachaturian - Masquerade Suite
youtube
A bold start. Right from the beginning he exudes arrogance, charisma and danger. He plays nice in front of Miranda with a waltz that picks up in intensity when putting Ethan through his first gauntlet. Then the tone gets deeper and quieter for a moment, as he plots in secret; it’s finally time to set his plan in action. It’s a race to the finish line as Ethan tears through the other lords, unknowingly playing right into Miranda’s plan. Realizing he could be a particularly useful asset/ally, Heisenberg puts him through the second gauntlet. The music is sadistically playful as he tests his will and endurance. Upon failing to recruit Ethan, the music picks up for the third gauntlet and ends with a bang, as Karl dies at the hands of Miranda.
Duke: Georges Bizet - Votre Toast
youtube
A friendly face unfitting in a place such as this. The upbeat and energetic theme sticks out like a sore thumb among the others. Whimsy and grandiosity acts as a brilliant facade for his enigmatic true nature. Though the jolly merchant schtick may be a lie, he always delivers on service.
Miranda: Sergei Prokofiev - Dance of the Knights
https://youtu.be/bBsKplb2E6Q?si=jnSpMO-bIhEcjJzb
Immediately imposes a sense of authority and dread. The dark theme plays over and over as she performs the same cruel experiments expecting different results, though it only succeeds in remowing her further from humanity. She imagines a world of pure bliss in acquiring her child, which at this point is as illusory as chasing the holy grail since she’s never satisfied. When she hears of Rose she schemes her way into the Winters home, elated to find the perfect vessel after a century of searching. She steals the child away, leaving behind a trail of destruction that finally catches up to her.

⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆ Clair De Lune ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆
Character: Koby x Moon witch reader
A/N: THIS IS NOT FINISHED THIS IS A SHORT SNIPPET OF THE PIECE I AM CURRENTLY WRITING.
Clair de Lune, meaning moonlight, was a song written and composed by French composer Claude Debussy.
C/W: Fluff, Spelling Mistakes,
Word count: Wip
⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☾⋆⁺₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆☾⋆⁺₊⋆⋆
The Moon sat proudly in the sky, bathing the navy boat in a milky glow. Your name was Y/N L/N, and you were a child of the Moon.
Your mother Clair was a Moon witch who lived among the stars. When you were born, you were blessed with the Kiss of moonlight, given to Moon beings alike. You opted to travel the world below rather than stay and swim among the stars.
You sat on the railing of the ship, your ethereal white dress draped lazily over your body, your hair flowing, almost as if it was underwater.
"Wow holy shit" A voice called from behind you.
You whipped your head to be met with a patrol officer he had curly locks of red hair and freckles gracing his checks 'Sun kisses' you thought serenely to yourself.
"H-how did you get on the ship, who are you- What are you" words tumbled out of his mouth as a smile graced your face.
"The moon looks very pretty from here don't you think?" you asked watching the boy look slightly taken aback by your nonchalantness.
"I- uhh I suppose so" His eyes drifted up to the moon, walking closer to the railing.
You turned your head to look at the boy, his eyes were focused on the ocean.
"Your a lot calmer than the other navy men i've met so far" you stated watching his eyes drift from the water to you.
"I suppose this means you do this often" he smiled.
You felt so utterly warm around this boy his peach cheeks puffing up as he smiled.
'It's not often you find someone who's blessed by the sun that does not relize they're blessed by the sun, silly boy may the stars guide him back to the daylight' you thought bringing a hand up angelically to twist one of his curls. "Your hair is a very pretty coulor is it natural?" you asked as if you were not a complete stranger invading a navy ship.
His cheeks were dusted pink "Uhh yes, I get it from my mother, hers is a lot brighter than mine though" he said a gorgeous smile painting his face.
Smiling too the two of you turned back to watch the moon.
Such a peaceful moment two souls watching the moon, everything always seems so much more peaceful beneath the eternal glow of the Clair de Lune.
"Hey Charlie, it's time to switch shifts HOLT SHIT!" A tall lanky officer rounded the corner, black wavey hair curled around his face and a large pointed nose sculpting his features. "INTRUDER, SOMEONE GET SMOKER OR TASHIGI" he hollered hoisting his gun up and pointing it towards you.
Standing from the ledge you walked off floating just above the railing. Playfully pinching Charlie's cheek you smiled sadly at having to leave. "Until we meet again Mon ami" You drifted off the railing before whisping yourself back to the dimension of stars.
In reality, you were still floating above the exact same railing you were just standing, just in a different plane of existence that could not be seen by the human eye.
Think of it like a filter when you moved behind the filter the unblessed eye can not see you even if you have not actually gone anywhere, they can not hear you nor can they touch you but they might be able to feel your presence if they are adept in their skills.
More guards poured onto the deck racked with sleep. mixes of
'what's going on out here and
'why the fuck are we awake.'
The guard lowered his gun, "where the fuck did she go" he growled.
You hated the irritability of humans, if only they could just learn to as some might say chill the fuck out~.
You had no want to stay and watch the events as you left to wander the constellations back to the moon. Your mother.
"Hello darling have a nice night?" she sang her voice echoing in your ears. Your mother sat placing new stars in the sky.
"I met a sun blessed soul" you whispered floating cross-legged.
"oooh exciting" she cooed her navy blue dress floating around her body as her platinum-white glowing hair cascaded past her knees.
"I'm just about done with this new constellation next time you're up here tell me if it looks alright" she quipped placing the last star in the sky.
"Of course mama, well I'm off now, I might be gone for a while," you said kissing your mum on the cheek.
"okay darling be safe," she chuckled as you walked down the trails of moon trickling back onto the ocean.

Stood washing the dishes from breakfast and listening to Claire De Lune, having such a moment of serene calm that something in my brain chimes in and tells me that - were this a horror movie - this is the exact sort of action I'd be partaking in right before Liver Fucker Mike bursts in and stabs me, acutely, 46 times in the lower back. Okay. The dishes NEED doing though.

“  you’re enough. you’re more than enough.  ” from Chris to Ray
Coming from a long mission was never easy but finding ways to ease his mind was never too difficult. He had Sumo to jostle him out of the clutches of monotony or stress, a companion that he would always treasure. But this mission had gone....differently. Of course they still had to neutralize threats, find research, imobolize suspects and save civillians....yet the last part was never an easy task. No. He was doing all he could to bring people out to safety, to make sure their mind would never have to leave with the horror and gore that happens in these situations..but some cases would complicate beyond his power...or perhaps they were still up to him to influence fate...right?...There was always a choice, a will to do...was his own will that much weaker?
Snapped out of his thoughts by a small pinch, he pulls his hand away, noticing the drop of blood trickling down from his left index finger and inner palm. Grumbling in annoyance Raymon would rather continue the mindless vegetable chopping, yet he is stopped when a heavy palm is carefully laid down upon his shoulder. Amber hues snap in that direction meeting hazel ones in return, he can't help but sigh. In the moment his mind feels too heavy to speak, yet it feels like Chris seems to know why. With a gentle tug to the living room he is sat down, before the other carefully works on tending to his scratch.
"Sorry...about that. I should have been more careful..." The sniper adds quietly, finally looking at his bandaged hand. It had only been a week since their last mission, but his mind still couldn't find that serenity...something he most times managed to pull himself into a good routine, was now so lost on him. Pulled in close, Raymon can't help but slump into the soft contact, body cradled in a soft yet sturdy hug. For a moment his arms remain frozen, until they find their place around the other operative's frame. As soon as he catches onto Chris' words, it feels like something heavy was being lifted...like a big marble stuck in his throat, for a moment Ray is left speechless...but it doesn't last long. Leaning in closer, there is a fragile smile breaking through...weak but willing to appear. Hands smooth up Redfield's back before moving to the front. Cupping the other's face, their faces a breath away the young sniper can't help...he knew those words carried more weight that some people would think...and knowing that they came from a place of genuine adoration and reassurance...it melted that unyielding cold pressure Raymon's mind would suspect him to that....made things feel that familiar warmth again, filled with the smell of cookies and coffee...it's just right.
"I must be pretty lucky...to be yours mon clair de lune"

Curated Healing: Crafting Playlists for Mental Well-being By Gary Dranow
Tumblr media
In an era where mental well-being is gaining the spotlight it rightfully deserves, music remains a steadfast ally. It’s not just the art of creating music that soothes; the act of curating and listening to a personalized playlist can offer solace in turbulent times. The concept, affectionately known as 'Playlist Therapy', has become a sanctuary for many seeking comfort or a mood uplift.
The Science Behind the Sound
Music's ability to impact our mood isn't just anecdotal. Neurological studies have shown that listening to certain types of music can release dopamine, a neurotransmitter associated with pleasure and reward. Similarly, music can serve as a trigger, evoking memories and emotions, both pleasant and otherwise. Harnessing this power by creating a personalized playlist can be an invaluable tool in our self-care arsenal.
Curating for Calm
In times of anxiety, selecting tracks with a slower tempo, minimal lyrics, and gentle harmonies can help slow our heart rate and breathing, creating a calming physiological response. Classical pieces like Debussy’s "Clair de Lune" or the serene notes of traditional instruments from around the world can often be a good starting point. For some, ambient sounds, like rain or ocean waves, interwoven with soft melodies, offer an escape from overthinking and stress.
Energizing and Elevating
Combating feelings of lethargy or depression often requires a different approach. Upbeat, energetic tracks with motivating lyrics can act as a catalyst, lifting our spirits. Whether it's the timeless joy of The Beatles' "Here Comes The Sun" or the invigorating beats of modern pop and dance tracks, such music can act as a gentle nudge towards positivity.
Navigating Emotional Release
Sometimes, we need music that allows us to face our emotions head-on. Crafting a playlist with songs that resonate with our feelings can provide a safe space to process and release these emotions. From ballads of heartbreak to anthems of resilience, these songs let us know that we're not alone in our experiences.
The Personal Touch
While there are countless pre-made playlists available on platforms like Spotify or Apple Music, there’s a therapeutic aspect to creating our own. The act of choosing each song, recalling why it's significant, and deciding its place in the sequence makes the playlist truly personal, amplifying its therapeutic effect.
In Conclusion

garlic focaccia and cream pasta with a side of yearning and loneliness (and coke zero, of course)
not that i am not used to eating alone but today i was overstimulated by the lights + the noise around me and the noise cancelling earbuds weren’t cutting it. in that moment i urgently needed to be held, almost with a restraining force. i held back my tears.
this piece came on as i ate and it made me recall your lie in april — that scene where the girl hummed clair de lune. how they both basked in the utter serenity of the night. i long to be lonely with someone else.

Elevate Your Mood with this List of Spa Music Everyone loves a good spa day. There’s nothing quite like that feeling of escaping from the world for a little while to relax, unwind, and recharge your batteries. But did you know that you can recreate that same sense of serenity and calm in your own home? By harnessing the power of music, you can create your very own at-home spa experience and elevate your mood in the process. Music has an incredible ability to affect our mood and emotions. Certain songs can make us feel sad, happy, relaxed, energized, or even nostalgic. This is why spas often play calming music during treatments – it helps to create a soothing and serene atmosphere that enhances the overall experience. So, what kind of music should you listen to for an at-home spa experience? Here are some of the best examples: 1. Classical Music Classical music is a popular choice for spas as it has been proven to help reduce stress levels and promote relaxation. The slow and steady tempo of classical music can help to slow down your breathing and heart rate, allowing you to sink into a state of deep relaxation. Some great classical pieces to add to your playlist include Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata, Debussy’s Clair de Lune, or Chopin’s Nocturne in E-flat major. 2. Nature Sounds If you’re looking for a more organic sound, nature sounds can be incredibly soothing. The sound of a babbling brook, chirping birds, or the rustling of leaves can all help to create a sense of peace and calm. Try listening to a track of rainforest sounds, or a gentle thunderstorm for a truly immersive experience. 3. Instrumental Music Instrumental music can be incredibly relaxing as it lacks lyrics that could distract your focus. Instead, you can fully immerse yourself in the melody and let your mind wander. Instrumentation like piano, guitar, or even the harp can be particularly soothing. Albums like Brian Eno’s Music for Airports or Ludovico Einaudi’s Divenire are great examples of instrumental music that can help you to unwind. 4. Slow-Paced Electronic Music Electronic music is often associated with a fast-paced and energetic beat, but there are also many sub-genres that focus on slower and more melodic tracks. Tracks with a tempo ranging from 60 to 80 bpm can have a calming effect on the listener. Spotify playlists like ‘Deep Focus’ or ‘Peaceful Piano’ are good places to find this type of music. 5. Zen Music Many artists create music specifically designed to promote relaxation and mindfulness. Zen music often combines elements of ambient and instrumental music along with Tibetan singing bowls and other soothing sounds. Try adding songs by artists like Tai Chi, Marconi Union, or Deuter to your playlist for a truly immersive relaxation experience. Creating an at-home spa experience doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. By harnessing the power of music, you can elevate your mood and create a soothing atmosphere that promotes relaxation and stress relief. Give these five different types of music a try and see which you prefer – you might just find yourself feeling more relaxed and refreshed than ever before. Claude Monet/A Seascape, Shipping by Moonlight/1864/oil on canvas/https://artuk.org/discover/artworks/a-seascape-shipping-by-moonlight-212711
Maurice Ravel/String Quartet in F Minor/1903
Impressionism is not about aiming for an exact copy of what is in front of you, if anything, it seems like the under sketch of a painting. The goal is to make suggestions as to what is there, you make a shape that gives the impression of a boat or a house, you are not painting the boat of the house in exact detail. The painting is an impression of a scene hence the name impressionism.
It is Monet's use of lighting and contrast that really makes his painting, A Seascape, Shipping by Moonlight, shine. When you first look at it, it is clear that you are looking at a painting of a seascape, with a boat sailing on the left and a lighthouse on the right. Upon closer inspection, you find that nothing is painted in exact detail, rather it is vague shapes that give form to a whole composition. His use of a dark background making the lighthouse, and waves pop off the page. The texture is due to his painting technique of using a pallet knife to apply paint to the canvas rather than a brush.
The impressionistic movement took on a very similar meaning in the music world as it did in art. The goal of impressionistic music was to create a vibe, it was not meant to be the star of the show. It was the music you would hear in the background at a dinner party, not something you would see in an opera house. Ravel is one of the greats in impressionistic music, up there with Claude Debussy, which you would know from Clair de Lune. Because this movement is about aesthetics and vibes, when choosing a piece I was going for something that captured the vibe of the painting by Monet. I felt his String Quartet in F Minor did the painting justice. When viewing the painting with this playing in the background, it gives a feeling of serenity and intimacy. Quite the vibe if you ask me.

Your Musical Theme
"Piano Man" by Billy Joel: Billy Joel - Piano Man (Audio)
"Für Elise" by Ludwig van Beethoven Beethoven - Für Elise (Piano Version)
“The Heart Asks Pleasure First" by Michael Nyman Michael Nyman - The heart asks pleasure first
 "Clocks" by Coldplay Clocks
"River Flows in You" by Yiruma Yiruma, (이루마) - River Flows in You
"Clair de Lune" by Claude Debussy CLAUDE DEBUSSY: CLAIR DE LUNE
Given that the piano is one of the most adaptable and expressive musical instruments in existence, the piano subject is crucial. From classical to jazz to pop, the piano can be used to express a broad range of emotions. I find the piano motif to be relevant because it emphasizes the value of music in our lives. Music has the ability to elicit strong feelings, unite people, and offer solace and comfort during trying times. In particular, the piano is a potent representation of this and helps to serve as a reminder of the power and beauty of music.
Billy Joel's "Piano Man" composition has a strong musical and lyrical connection to the piano. The song recounts the tale of a piano player who plays music in a bar to comfort the customers. The song's basic chord progression, slow tempo, and evocative refrain define its musical style.
Ludwig van Beethoven wrote the well-known classical song "Für Elise" in the early 19th century. It is a piano piece, and the piano is used to play it most frequently. The song is important because it is among Beethoven's most well-known and cherished compositions. The memorable and straightforward opening motif of "Für Elise," which is repeated and developed throughout the composition, best describes the melody. The song's moderate tempo and moderate beat give it a feeling of forward momentum and energy.
Michael Nyman wrote the instrumental composition "The Heart Asks Pleasure First" for the 1993 movie "The Piano." The melody of the piece, which is mainly performed on a solo piano, is well-known, as is its poignant emotional quality. The right hand of the piano is used to begin the composition with a straightforward but entrancing melody. A steady, repeated accompaniment from the left hand fosters a state of serenity and introspection. The melody is known for its slow tempo, which adds to the music's general dreamy and introspective feel.
Popular alternative rock single "Clocks" by Coldplay was released in 2002. The tune is well-known for its catchy rhythmic pattern and recognizable piano riff. The melody of the song is built on the piano, and the instrument also contributes to the song's general structure. The descending arpeggio pattern performed on the piano, which is then picked up by the other instruments in the ensemble, is what gives "Clocks" its distinctive melody. The melody is fairly straightforward and repetitive, but it works well to create tension and momentum throughout the song.
South Korean pianist and songwriter Yiruma wrote the piano piece "River Flows in You". The song is a well-known modern piano composition that is frequently used in motion pictures, television programs, and other forms of media. Overall, "River Flows in You" is a lovely and serene piano composition that demonstrates the instrument's capacity to foster a tranquil and restful environment. It is a popular option for meditation, relaxation, and other related activities due to its straightforward structure, repetitious chord progression, and evocative melody.
French musician Claude Debussy wrote the well-known piano piece "Clair de Lune" in 1890. The piece is renowned for its ethereal and dreamy quality, which conjures up pictures of moonlit landscapes. The title translates to "moonlight" in English. The song's opening is a slow, meandering melody in the right hand that is supported by arpeggiated chords in the left hand. The song is in the key of D-flat major. "Andante très expressif," which translates to "very expressive walking speed," is the tempo indication. The listener can completely enjoy the melody's delicate and subtle phrases at this slow tempo.
