Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
And wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
As it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right

Who Wrote the Serenity Prayer?
As noted previously, Reinhold Niebuhr is often the attributed author of the Serenity Prayer. It was composed sometime between 1932 and 1933 and grew highly popular in the 30s and 40s across church groups without proper attribution and recognition to Niebuhr. In 1943, Niebuhr used the prayer in a sermon at Heath Evangelical Union Church in Heath, Massachusetts. The serenity prayer first appeared in print as part of a sermon in the 1944 Book of Prayers and Services for the Armed Forces and was officially published by Niebuhr in 1951.

I went to see my roommate after he was rushed to the er this week. He ended up transfered to another hospital due to fluids on his brain. He ended up having surgery yesterday. The surgery was done to drain the fluid from his brain. He is doing amazing, by the way. He is awake and alert and talking like nothing has happened. After that, we went to Hobby Lobby with my baby sister yesterday. I wasn't gonna buy anything. And I saw they had sales going on, now I'm not good with numbers and math, so my baby sister came to the rescue. She was like "sis this is originally $22.78 with a 50% discount." I was like, "Oh boy, i was scared to have her watch me struggle with doing my math to figure out the amount as i went, so she stepped in and helped me with it. I saw some of the looks i got from others, i knew what they must have been thinking. I wanted to run out and say screw it bc im scared of being judged. But instead, i stayed and figured it out with the help of my smarter than me baby sister. I only spent $42.87. The speaker and light are from the dollar store.
The moral of this story don't make fun of someone bc they struggle differently than you do.
