Fanfic Series Announcement / Simon “Ghost” Riley
I have decided to expand onto story Bug Like an Angel, by creating a collection of chapters inspired by music from Mitski and other artists (including Pheobe Bridgers, Ethel Cain, etc) called Together, Inhospitable
Because of this, I’ve made some slight changes to the first chapter, Bug Like an Angel so it can align with the rest of the story. Including changing it from a reader insert, to an OC (it'll make since as to why with the story continuation and character backstory)
You can find the masterlist here. And you can read the first part, here. I hope you’ll enjoy the series as much as I’ve been enjoying writing it!

Hiiii!!
my name's goob, but you can call me Kyle as well! My main account is @kirbeep-p, and I also help @tokyosmaddhouse with their series, LAB RABBITZ!
I'm currently working on a solo series that has grown near and dear to my heart over the passed couple of months, and it's called Spellbound!
Spellbound is a WIP series (the media is not yet decided. Will most likely a webcomic) about a teenage witch named Megumi Haruyama who comes from a family of evil witches and attends Sofia-Gemstone Academy, which is located in the kingdom of Eden, a place where evil witches are not warmly welcomed. Throughout the series, Megumi (along with a lot of other colorful characters) will learn about friendship, sexuality, coming to terms with negative feelings and adapting to change, all while learning magic and Megumi keeping the fact that she is an evil witch away from her friends..
Though it is still a wip, It takes a lot of inspiration from Hooky, Lore Olympus, Steven Universe, Hazbin Hotel and Over the Garden Wall.
It is recommended that people are 15+ in order to follow, as Spellbound deals with some disturbing themes and there's some inappropriate language, things that are not suited for young minds.
🌟 I hope you enjoy your stay on this whimsical, magical blog!! 🌟

Welcome!
I am @tokyosmaddhouse, but please call me Tokyo! I am currently working on a project with my friend @kirbeep-p (whom I will add as a member of the blog once I figure it out 😭), started by me called “LAB RABBITZ”
LAB RABBITZ is a WIP series (media not yet decided. Most likely a webcomic) about these creatures who had been raised from the dead using mutagen found by a scientist, bringing them back to life but also mutating them. The group of mutated creatures (along with the scientist, her assistant, the assistant’s granddaughter, and the granddaughter’s sentient bow) go on crazy adventures in a town filled with contamination and other, hostile mutants that they’ll have to deal with, along with “friendly fire”.
Overall, still a WIP, but takes a lot of inspiration from Ren and Stimpy, Pinky and The Brain, and Invader Zim. The story will be 13+ overall, containing some language, sexual themes/jokes and other things not appropriate for young minds.
Anyways, here’s the main characters! (More info about them soon)

Hello everyone, I have an announcement to make. I'm going to make a series of fanfics of your favorite fictional characters reacting to you grabbing and spanking their butts.
Here's how the series would work, if the GN/Male Reader is a Dom, then that means they're the ones spanking and grabbing the fictional characters butts. However, if the GN/Male Reader is a Sub, that means that the fictional characters will grab and spank your butts instead. Switch GN/Male Readers are allowed too.

A Spoiltastic Journey
through the Entire Space: 1999 Canon
up to "Odysseus Wept"
Preface
Go straight to Story 1: Eternity Unleashed
No one:
Absolutely no one:
Me:
SPACE: 1999 WAS A FLAWED BUT ULTIMATELY UNDERRATED TV SERIES THAT EXPLORED HUMAN NATURE THROUGH MAGICAL WORLDBUILDING IN A SPACE-AGE GOTHIC UNIVERSE AND ITS 2000s REVIVAL IN THE POWYS MEDIA BOOKS MIRRORS THE HIGHS AND LOWS OF THE ORIGINAL MATERIAL
I have just speed-skimmed the final three Space: 1999 novels in the Powysverse, including Odysseus Wept, the canonical end to the original characters' storyline, and the end of the book series altogether since it went permanently out of print last month.
I have thoughts.
Pull up a chair, bring a packed lunch. Maybe a sleeping bag.
But hyperfashionist, you say, what is Space: 1999?
It was a syndicated TV series by Gerry Anderson that first aired in 1975 and lasted for two seasons of 24 episodes each.
The premise of the story is this: Moonbase Alpha is a self-sufficient settlement, on the Moon (funnily enough), inhabited by 311 scientists. On September 13th, 1999, nuclear waste stored on the moon blows up and hurls the Moon out of Earth's orbit, and the Moonbase and its inhabitants are forced to blunder through the universe in a "playing pool with planets" situation, continually looking for a habitable planet to settle on, and whingeing because they can't go home.
In 2001, the series was revived in book form by Powys Media and the story was written and rewritten into a chronology ending with the novel "Odysseus Wept", published in Spring of 2023.
In an alternate universe, Big Finish recorded several episodes, both original and new, as audio dramas. Being officially licensed, these can reasonably be classified as canon, albeit canon outside the more internally-consistent Powysverse.
Exclusive! hyperfashionist speaks out
It is time for me to break my decades-long silence on this matter and tell everyone the absolutely real and true history of Moonbase Alpha, from the exclusive point of view of me, an inhabitant of the base whenever reality gets too much, which is most of the time. The Moonbase is my happy place.
This is not a respectable closet to come out of, so I'm putting all my faith in your ability to refrain from kinkshaming. Recreational cannibalism was one thing, but I'm aware that I'm truly sticking my neck out here.
The very best critic to consult on Space: 1999 (or anything, really) is John Kenneth Muir, because he actually observes the material he's reviewing, not the material he assumes he's reviewing. Additionally, he is the author of two of the three best Powys novels in my opinion, and we'll be discussing those as they come up.
What This Review Series Will Include
Spoilers. Lots of them.
The TV series has been off air for some four decades now. The Powys book series is out of print, is not available in electronic format through any legitimate channels, is not held in any libraries, and is extremely rare on the aftermarket because it was printed on-demand. At this point I might as well spoil away. I'll put all the spoilers under a cut, but you have been warned.
What This Review Series Will Not Include
Haggling over realism, at least not scientific realism
You may have noticed that the show's premise is wildly unrealistic on its face. Yes it is. I don't care.
You may also notice that the unrealism of the show just caroms on and on, from nuttiness to outlandishness and back again. I still don't care.
Okay, some explanation
Not that it matters, but there is an explanation for why this show takes a passing glance at the laws of physics and decides it wants no truck with them. Originally, the show was meant to represent the origin myths of a later civilization descended from the inhabitants of Moonbase Alpha. That's why it's not worried about portraying stuff that's physically impossible to the point of being ludicrous - that stuff is not the point of the story.
The point of the story, as JKM explains, is to build a world, pull you into it, and make you feel what it might be like to be part of that world. It succeeds or fails according to whether or not you feel compelled by it.
The TV series accomplished this primarily through production design, as JKM's linked article explains. The Powys books that succeed, succeed by a combination of plot and characterization.
It's all subjective, of course, and not everybody has the receptors for it, just like not everybody can smell freesias. De gustibus non est disputandum.
Any Truck With The Whinge Wars About Year 1 versus Year 2
There is a famous and never-ending dispute between the devotees of the first series (Year 1) and the second (Year 2). It's usually the first thing anyone talks about. It's boring. I'm not going to argue about it. It's a matter of taste.
Okay, some explanation
There are good reasons why people have this strong preference for Year 1. When the second series began, several major characters had disappeared with no explanation. Additionally, the genre, production design, pace, and tone of the show had radically changed. This upset a lot of people, and they never really got over it. Not to mention that there is at least as much to criticize about Year 2 as there is about Year 1.
There's also a lot right with both seasons, which is why I bother to watch it.
I should add that I had the opposite experience to most viewers. Where I lived, Space: 1999 replaced the Bugs Bunny/Road Runner show in its regular timeslot, and I was disappointed and skipped the first episode.
The following week, rather than complain that it wasn't Bugs Bunny/Road Runner, I tried watching Space: 1999 and was hooked.
The twist was, the first season I saw was Year 2. Year 1 was shown *after* that, and lo and behold *my* favourite characters had disappeared without explanation, and the genre, production design, pace, and tone of the show had radically changed - but in the opposite direction from how most people experienced it. I was disappointed and confused, but I lived with it. It was my show for a reason - it was worth watching. More than that, it was the highlight of my week.
The Bottom Line
De gustibus non est disputandum.
I actually like Space: 1999. Actually I love it. I loved it when I was a little kid, and I love it now I'm a grownup. I know it's got enormous flaws and is often cringey and ludicrous and I will probably burst into flames of embarrassment numerous times during this review series.
I still love it.
I love it WITH its flaws, not in spite of them.
You can't explain love. You can only surrender to its power.
Next Episode
Tomorrow we'll be discussing the first story in the chronology according to Powys Media, which is Eternity Unleashed by William Latham.
It's going to be a very short discussion because I don't have the book, may never have the book, and most certainly won't be able to get the book before tomorrow unless this post is seen by someone out there who can help me.
Nevertheless, I can still find a couple of things to say, so that's where we're going to start.
Go to Story 1: Eternity Unleashed

DANKTOBER 2022 ANNOUNCEMENT
TAGLIST INFORMATION FOUND AT BOTTOM OF POST, YES JUST LIKE THE FOOD BLOG YOUR AUNT RUNS.
Hello there I'm Bailey and I'm insane. Two years ago I joined some friends and did my first month-long creative prompt event. We split the 31 prompts up into equal parts and all completed Kinktober 2020 together as a group. Immediately after that I did NaNoWriMo for the first time and got even more insane. In 2021, I decided it wasn't good enough to just be doing one prompt, so I chose to combine three different October prompt events: Kinktober, Flufftober, and Whumptober. The result was Flunktober 2021 which had fics I wrote for as many of the days as I could, each using three or more prompts from those lists. I did that and did NaNoWriMo again immediately following this craziness, further cementing my deranged soul in unhinged hell.
This year, I've combined Kinktober and Inktober with an event of my own creation: Daytober, a creative prompt event inspired by silly national holidays that occur in the month of October. This unholy matrimony is called Danktober, and I cannot wait to start writing the prompts in front of me. In addition to writing, I also want to try my hand at drawing for each prompt, so I can include them in the project header when I eventually post each work. I have no mistaken belief in my abilities drawing wise, but I am in possession of a Concerta prescription and this is my only free outlet at the moment. Therefore, I've become your problem.
Or I will be, starting October 1st.
These are the prompts and pairings I have right now. Some days have returning characters from other works in my masterlist, and some are gearing up for a full-length fic all on their own. Anything marked TBD in the pairing section means I haven't come up with an unhinged enough idea for it, and I'm more than happy to take suggestions! If you're going to suggest a pairing/scenario, please include which day you're suggesting for.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the subject of tag notificaitons: There's 31 prompts, which means 31 works, in 31 days. Because of this, I can understand if you don't want to be tagged every 24 hours in fics ranging from 500-1500 words apiece. For this reason, I'm going to have Danktober Roundups, so once a week (should you opt in) you'll get a notification for all the fics posted that week. There's a new option to be tagged in Danktober Roundups on my taglist, which is always found in my bio or on my main masterlist, pinned at the top of my blog. If you are already on my taglist for certain characters or otherwise, there's a chance you will be tagged in every week's Roundup regardless of if you opt-in to this event. If you wanna get off of the taglist, say it in a new taglist entry with ur username and request in the notes at the back.
Thanks, and happy Preptember!

About the Author:
Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Julie grew up in a house full of women – she has three older sisters. As you can imagine, there was no lack of drama… or romance. Her mother enrolled her in a book club as soon as she began to read and it was the small spark that ignited her voracious appetite for the written word. Because of Julie’s early immersion in literature, she found writing came quite naturally. In high school, she won multiple writing contests and was the proud senior editor of The Tiger’s Tale – her school newspaper. During her college years, however, she longed for a challenge. “Reading and writing felt like second nature to me, so I looked for a way to flex my mental muscles,” she recalls. After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree, Julie began teaching advanced high school mathematics. “I loved working with the students and facing the challenges of the classroom, but I longed for the occasional snow day when I could race to the local book store, buy two or three new novels, and curl up in front of the fire to read.” It wasn’t until a fortuitous move to Chicago that Julie once more returned to her first passion. Now Julie loves to travel the world looking for views to compete with her deadlines. When she’s not writing, she enjoys camping, hiking, cycling, cooking, petting every dog that walks by her, and… reading, of course!

all im saying is marvel has the opportunity to do the funniest thing by making lokius canon. like come on. think about it. here is this character who has been one of the most beloved by fans in a HUGE franchise for over a decade, has thousands if not millions of fanfiction written about them and obviously EVERYONE wants to know who they'll be paired up and turns out the one who has them trailing after him like lost puppy and basically acting as his guard dog is a seemingly very boring bureaucrat with an obsession with jet skis and a tendency to stress eat. like all shipping aside wouldn't that actually be the funniest thing you've ever witnessed bc it would be for me.
