A long time ago, there was a video called “とげとげタルめいろスーパードンキーコング2" by taia777. It was an upload of Stickerbrush Symphony from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest. The nature of the video’s title meant the only real way you could find it was having it recommended to you. And as such, people decided that if you found this video, you were the Main Character. And as such, people decided to put their stories and mark them as Checkpoints. Like they were saving their game and recording their progress. Sadly, the video’s taken down, and the channel as well, but people remember it. People haven’t forgotten. There’s subreddits dedicated to taia777, art, all sorts of things.

And this server aims to be a tribute to that video and community. A safe place for that discussion to continue. Simple as that. I know there’s other servers dedicated to taia777 but I also have another reason.

The Reddit migration to Tumblr.

So, honestly, I don’t wanna make a big thing out of this, but there’s this massive exodus from Reddit to Tumblr because Reddit decided to do some pretty terrible stuff, including restricting third party apps by way of charging for the APK and people ended up coming to Tumblr. Frankly, you already know about this if you’re reading this! But I wanted another place for those people to talk and chat. So that’s where this server comes in.

Tempo hari, diminta kampus untuk mindah salah satu server yang dari workstation biasa ke server kampus. Karena pakai infrastruktur nya virtual-machine, walhasil tinggal pindah virtual-harddisk (VHD) settingan ikut, tinggal disesuaikan dikit.

Hari pertama setelah selesai pindah, masih ada kendala bahwa server tidak dapat diakses di jaringan lokal. Walaupun dari hoating sudah diarahkan ke alamat IP public terkait dan di reverse proxy ke alamat IP sesungguhnya. Masalah teratasi keesokan harinya setelah network engineer saya minta untuk tambahkan IP static atau ganti IP DNS (DHCP) dengan public DNS.

Namun sangat disayangkan, catu daya mati di siang hari sesaat saya konfirmasi bahwa jaringan lokal sudah dapat mengakses server dengan domain terkait. Masalah selanjutnya datang, yakni setelah dinyalakan server tidak otomatis mem-booting VM. Namun hal tersebut dapat teratasi karena sudah diantisipasi dengan melakukan setting pada BIOS supaya mainboard dapat menyala sesaat setelah mendapat catu daya.

Tinggal masalah terakhir bahwa dari VM sendiri tidak dapat menjalankan cronjob maupun booting otomatis melalui VBoxManage. Hingga akhirnya jalan terakhir adalah menjadikan action tersebut sebuat service yang berjalan sesaat setelah booting hypervisor selesai.

Dan benar, Hari ini terjadi pemadaman listrik. Setelah pemadaman, hypervisor dan VM booting kembali secara normal.

Baru saja, saya menambahkan auto-mount ke harddisk bawaan servernya. Mungkin besok saat restart server akan dicoba dan dilihat hasilnya.

panicked for a second cuz i thought they stopped hosting the server cuz of the inactivity or some shit. no its just at the bottom of my server list for some reason

#i wouldve been so pissed all of our work/progress on yoyleland wouldve been gone... #oh yeah idk if i ever mentioned it but me and my friend gizmo have been working on this build project to recreate yoyleland (well #mainly yoylecity lol) from bfdi in minecraft =) #we like doing silly build projects but most of them we had to leave cuz the servers got to be a bit too much . like we used to be trying to #do this thing on 4b4t but it was awful the server got to be so unbearable + some drama went down so we just migrated to a different server #and then we got griefed there. somehow we stumbled across lasergurkenland and moved really fucking far away from spawn #so we didnt have to worry abt other people or withers and other stuff #i do miss that one wither called cant see shit in this mist from the belgian server we played on though.. the constant looming threat of #cant see shit possibly coming out from underneath our base and destroying all our work was so entertaining yknow /silly #ANYWAYS the yoyleland build project is going kinda slowly since we havent been working on it as much as we used to and we still need a LOT #of supplies and theres gonna be so much fucking terraforming involved but itll be so worth it once we finish it i know it #inquisitivewaltz.txt #honestly i could talk abt the stuff that has happened on servers me and my friends play on for hours theyre very silly 2 me #WAIT OMG they updated to 1.19... awesome
