Snape went to Dumbledore to protect lily BUT because he knew he could use Snape to his advantage he made sure Snape gave EVERYTHING for Dumbledore to hold his word. When it failed (lily and James dying), Snape realised that he was still trapped in Dumbledores’ debt SO as soon as he knew the DADA job was cursed he became dependent on trying to sign up for the position so that he could have a way out. BUT. Dumbledore ALSO knew this which is why he never gave Snape the job knowing full well he was more than capable and literally let a pink toad teach the class.

Ok so. my friend and i were rewatching the harry potter series. we were talking about how Harry should’ve been in slytherin and we made an entire concept for how we would write harry potter. i felt it was simply too good not to share. it’s literally just a bunch of somewhat connecting bullet points, but i might actually write it down in the future.

this came to be after we watched the second one, (mind you i’m an english major and my roommate is an Art history major) and talked about how we personally don’t like that one, and so much could’ve been improved with the chamber of secrets plot in general if harry had been in slytherin. The bullet points start with the first movie.

HARRY POTTER(AKA SLITHERIPOTTER)

Part 1: Childhood/ Hagrid

- vernon and petunia more neglectful, no room “if you don’t bother us we don’t bother you” deal

- when harry was a baby and would cry the fuses would go out

- at age 8, harry gets left at school, walks dejectedly to bus stop. Gets on bus has no money bus driver angry random stranger(LUPINN) pays for ticket.

- harry sits and looks for man to thank him (lupin was behind) doesn’t know where he went

- aunt and uncle afraid of harry. (aunt worse)

- aunt and uncle treat him better in public to be seen normal

- dudley intentionally getting harry in trouble, mommy complex. notices mom is nicer to him when she gets mad at harry.

-Aunt is an alcoholic, afraid of her nephew. aunt feels melancholy for her sister.

- harry shows symptoms of ADD(Attention deficit disorder) and GAD(Generalized anxiety disorder)

-Dudley’s birthday at zoo still happens. harry still talks to snake there. afterward harry locked in room.

- Dudley first sees harry’s letter, and reveals to parents. Excess of letters happens, Harry locked out of house in retribution.

HAGRID’S ENTRANCE:

- harry walks to park, hears motorcycle, flips tf out bc yknow, it’s flying.

- hagrid finds harry+ introduces him to the wizard world

-Gringotts still happens

-harry and hagrid go to train together. Hagrid and harry wave.

PART2 :THE TRAIN AND SORTING

- ron and harry bump heads, (harry leaving his lil compartment to find bathroom, ron looking for a seat) ron realizes harry’s identity when seeing his scar.

- harry happy to make a one friend, but confused as to how ron knew who he was

- ron explains legend vaguely

-Trolly shenanigans ensue

-Hermione sees trolly shenanigans(both of their faces are chovered in chocolate) and is disgusted , talks how her parents are dentists.

- hermione sees scar freaks out

-harry and ron slightly dislike hermione

- forces herself into it, hermione keeps asking weird questions, harry confused, hermione leaves

- “i’m so excited for sorting i want gryffindor” - ron

- harry confused. sorting mentioned but not much

- harry still doesn’t know his hair is messed up, notices draco looking at him. looks at him then looks away bc mcgonagall is there.

- as they’re going up the stairs, Ron explains houses. Loves Gryffindor, slytherin worst of worst(evil if you go to syntherin.) hufflepuff kind, ravenclaw smart

SORTING:

- Mcgonagall sorting people, draco making his way through the crowd for harry with crabbe and goyle following. Harry sees.

-when harry walks in the great hall, he feels eyes on him. it’s snape.

- Ron gets called, taps harry”I’ll see you later” energy

-Ron in hufflepuff, confused, can’t make eye contact with harry.

- ron looks over to brothers in gryffindor, (all near eachother) they’re disappointed

-harry really confused

-hermione sorted ravenclaw

-harry gets distracted as he tries to figure out the houses from who he’s seen her sorted into them. Draco gets called up, bumps harry, looks back at harry + eye contact.

- harry called, sorted into syntherin, Malfoy smirks and gestures next to him. Harry is panicking bc of what ron told him earlier

Ok this one’s for @snapeysister who I promised to upload a video for. Tumblr is weird, it wouldn’t let me load it via my phone so I’m going to try with my ipad.

As I mentioned in the tag of another post earlier that, Eddie is a fan of Snape (although I’n probably exaggerating here. I mean he says he likes Snape but i don’t actually know how much of a fan he is). But he’s not opposed to Snape and I think he probably is a fan of Snape in a small way. So every time I post something Snape related, I use Eddie being a fan in my defence for posting Snapey things. But this video is my case in point for my defence.

The full interview is so hilarious, but this bit here makes me laugh the most and makes me really happy. I love the way he laughs after she reacts, and the way he reacts and laughs at every one of her reactions when he gets an answer wrong to her liking. He seems so young, cute and adorable the way he just laughs at her. And it’s made even cuter with that Newt costume and Newt hair! He should just keep the Newt hair permanantly, it’ll. keep him looking forever young. Lol! 😍 I just love him in this interview. He’s hilarious.

I especially love that he chose and likes Snape, because before I was obsessed with Newt and Eddie, I was obsessed with Snape’s character and Alan Rickman. So it made me so happy he said Snape instead of Sirius. I love you so much Eddie!!!! ❤️

I hope my love for Newt lasts as long as my fascination with Snape. That went on for at least a good few years. From 2001 - 2016. Newt pushed him away and replace him, although my fixation with Newt and Eddie is slightly different. I was fascinated by Snape because of his complex and mysterious character. But with Newt I just adore and love him to bits. It helps that it’s Eddie playing him, and I just love and adore Eddie to bits too. I just love these two goofy hufflepufs. And I love Eddie some more for liking Shape and choosing him in that video and making me happy. 😁

Honestly, I think it’s weird how it’s written and implied that the Marauders were out there bullying and hexing people just for the fuck if it.

Because when I read the books and we find out the history between them vs Snape, I always got the feeling that James and Sirius simply got on Snape’s bad side and vice versa, but I never really imagined that from then on they decided to specifically torment him.

I always imagined it as when the Marauders started pranking people, it was more like a generalized prancing, like maybe whichever Slytherin walking down the third floor corridor after the lunch bell gets covered in spell resistant slime. And maybe by coincidence Snape was there, and he took it personally (because it’s shown that he is an angry man who took anything as a personal front against him) and decided to get payback. And it becomes a cycle of Marauders pranking, Snape getting revenge, Marauders retaliating until it becomes their habit where the Marauders attacked on sight and Snape played the victim, especially to Lily, which adds fuel to the fire as James begins to fall in love.

As for the other students I always believed that maybe the Marauders saw themselves as sorts of knights in shining armor and because of having the map and invisibility clock they saw and heard more than what they should know and acted accordingly to their “morals”, like hexing a sixth year Ravenclaw to sprout hair out everywhere because they saw him torment a little first year, things of that nature.
