I always found it strange that Bhaal would demand Isobel as a sacrifice rather than Aylin; after all, Aylin is a huge threat to Bhaals plan if she’s allowed to live. But then again, Isobel is the mortal lover to a demigod. It’s rather symbolic, don’t you think? This is what happens to demigods’ lovers. This is what should’ve happened to Gortash.
