Letting go of his leg, Rin twirls. Her orange and purple dyed hanten spins around her, the pink embroidered blossoms drifting superficially in the air.

"Rin loves her new hanten! It's all of her favorite colors!" She gives him a toothy grin, "Thanks very much, Sesshomaru-sama!"

"I'm glad. It suits you very well," Sesshomaru chuckles watching his ward joyfully spin around.

"Oh!" Rin gasps, brown eyes snapping open, "I almost forget!"

Steading herself on both feet, Rin clasps her hands together and, with dazzling brown eyes, looks up at Sesshomaru, "Kagome-sama and Shippo-chan are building snowmen! Can Rin join, Sesshomaru-sama?! Pretty please?!"

Sesshomaru's lips twitch upward in a smirk. Rin's excitement radiates off her in rays as she looks up at him with expectant eyes. Unable to resist her charm, he nods.

"Thanks, Sesshomaru-sama!" Rin squeals, throwing her hands up in the air as she jumps. Snatching his clawed hand into her own small hand, Rin tugs Sesshomaru, "This way!"

A mischievous grin formed on Soten's face. "So what your dad really needs, is to be shown someone who is great at cooking and loves kids."

Rin caught onto Soten's plan almost immediately. "Someone like your Aunt Kagome?" she said with a grin. "You've been talking about her ever since her cousin married your brother."

"I mean, it would just be her fixing tonight's dinner. She wouldn't be able to stand it knowing that we were being forced to eat just gross food."

Soten winked as she nudged her friend. "I bet she'd even show up now if we told her it was an emergency."

Rin clapped her hands together, brown eyes gleaming. "And you're always telling me that she makes way too much, so there'd be lots for Papa to try too."

Soten already had her cell phone out. "And she loves seeing people try her food. She's always talking about trying new recipes, too."

"Think she'll make us dessert, too?" Rin asked, practically vibrating now.

"She never makes dinner without dessert." Soten began typing out the text.

Rin hugged her friend, finally feeling better about the whole situation—if she couldn't scare the witch off, she'd just show her father what a horrible option she was in the first place.

So do you have any head canons for MoShen? I know you likened it to SessKag, but do you have any solid ideas for it? I kind of like the vibe of SY being kidnapped by LGJ for some kind of monster or demon knowledge he has and SY and MBJ working together to ruin his uncles plans. There’s some interesting ground to be tilled here.

I honestly had no specific ideas for MoShen outside of rogue cultivator!Shen Yuan and his demonic parole officer Mobei-jun until you asked. And then it just. Kept going. Maybe some vague ideas about Shen Yuan transmigrating early and trying prevent Tianlang-jun’s sealing and Su Xiyan’s death (tho being completely unaware of the plotline he’s about to gloriously derail). Maybe he succeeds, maybe he doesn’t, maybe he gets stuck with a screaming baby that he knows he can’t raise on a rogue cultivator’s income. (I just want LBH to grow up in all universes happy and mentally healthy with a parent figure he doesn’t become sexually attracted to 😭).

Which gives us a nice interim period where the demon realm is figuring their shit out/trying not to collapse beneath the massive infighting over the power vacuum left by TLJ. Maybe one of TLJ’s lieutenants takes over, maybe LGJ. Perhaps he’s rather paranoid with his nephew gaining support among the stronger demons and so when news crops up of a supposedly non-demonic cultivator with suspiciously intimate knowledge of demonic creatures going around not killing/exorcising said creatures, it’s the perfect excuse to get his meddling nephew investigating something trivial and getting him out of the way (for a little at least, not knowing he’s practically handing over the former demon lord’s heir and his rival for the leadership of the demon realm to his other rival).

SY isn’t gonna let his son get taken and brainwashed into a mini demon lord but accepts that it’s LBH’s birthright. And so he makes a deal: help MBJ overthrow his uncle via some weirdly specific plant/cursed artifact/magic creature that can nullify a demon’s power, and in exchange keep LBH out of the fighting until he’s old enough to fight back (plus allowing SY access to the demonic leader’s personal library afterward, but that’s an afterthought. of course. 👀).

MBJ has some childhood trauma of his own, caused by his uncle and some nasty humans, so he doesn’t trust SY in any way shape or form but the human’s requests don’t seem…outrageous.

But the problem is that he needs the human alive for this to work and SY is making that incredibly difficult. He has a panic attack every time the human returns back to camp with some incredibly poisonous/venomous/carnivorous/bloodsucking monstrosity, fully intending on “examining it and maybe bringing it home” in SY’s immortal words. MBJ is not convinced the human isn’t suicidal. Only LBH’s sheer existence at this point makes him question how this idiot kept himself—much less a small child—alive.

I don’t often get anons on here but when I do they always leave me 🤯

At first I thought it would be no big deal to draw up a grown Asahi.

But then I thought… why stop there??

These are SessKag babies from my fic Unexpected.

Minoru, the first born. The quintessential Hanyo. Looks just like his uncle, but with Sesshomaru’s face. As the eldest, he wants to be just like his father, but he’s a lot more like Kagome. More naturally inclined to the bow, but he practices hard with his sword.

The Twins, Himari and Sota. Himari was born with the appearance of a full yokai. She’s bubbly, happy, and silly, but with Kagome’s temper. She won’t hesitate to maim anyone who intends to harm her family. Sota was born with the appearance of being completely human. He was named for Kagome’s brother, but most resembles her father. He is the most like Sesshomaru in personality. Despite how they look, they are both Hanyo.

The Elf Child, Akemi. Sweet and even tempered, she looks most like Sesshomaru’s mother. She is the only child with Kagome’s eyes. She and Asahi are best friends. She has an affinity for gardening, especially caring for rare, hard to grow plants.

Asahi, the baby. His appearance came as a shock, as he’s the least “human” looking of all his siblings. He wears glasses because his eyes are very “doggish” and he needs help correcting his vision. He cannot speak with words outside of his human night as he has a canine about and vocal cords, but he can communicate in inuyokai just fine, a language his whole family speaks. Kagome read to him often as a child to ensure he understood the human language, so he enjoys scholarly pursuits, reading, writing, and he has the best penmanship of all his siblings.

All of the siblings are very close and enjoy spending time together and with their parents

It's already 2023 and you're still here stalking anti blogs and old posts insulting and harassing people just because they see a father-daughter relationship when a grown man raises and loves a CHILD, like, you know, a healthy relationship.

But I do know what's wrong with you, you're still insecure and don't really believe what you're saying🤣 If you really believed it was canon, you wouldn't be harassing people to try to convince them of it, you'd just be doing what any normal person would do: enjoying their own content in their own fucking corner.

You know? Normally I would just block you but since you came to my blog, commented on one of my posts and you tagged other people to harass them:

And I also know you've been harassing other antis on their blogs, so I think I can explain a few things to you:

* RT already confirmed that og Sesshomaru is Rin' Hogosha and hogosha means parental figure.

* Shiina, the author of hny's manga confirmed that this is just a what if. And it was also confirmed that Yashahime is just Sumisawa's au scenario.

And no matter how much you cry, that will never change, just like there will always be other Sesshomaru ships, like SessKagu, Sesskik, SessKag and many others, there will always be content about it and I am thankful for that.

It's already 2023, nobody cares what happens in Yashahime anymore and the numbers don't lie, it was a total flop 🤷‍♀️ so just accept it and stop crying on other people's blogs, go to your own space and try to be happy with the crumbs they gave you :)

PART ONE

are you named after anyone? Yes. I am named after a character in movie, but not because my parents liked either the character or the actress (they hated both). I'm named after this character because they wanted to be like her parents. Needless to say, I am not fond of my name.

when was the last time you cried?: genuinely don't remember, but it was probably either a) writing because sometimes I get overwhelmed by character's emotions or b) something reminded me fiercely of my late father and I just lost it for a minute.

do you have kids?:  Not unless you count dogs. I have two shelter pups.

do you use sarcasm a lot?: Mostly when asked to do something very simple. I will sarcastically refuse whilst doing the thing.

what’s the first thing you notice about people?: Vibes. I have a very vibes-based nervous system (thanks trauma).

what’s your eye colour?: This is complicated. I have central heterochromia, which means my eyes are two different colors within the same iris. So brown on the inside, mossy green on the outside, but you can't tell unless you get close so I say hazel even though it's not technically correct.

scary movies or happy endings?: Scary movies. I typically fall asleep with one on. After you've seen it a hundred times, even the sounds of screaming can become their own kind of comforting because it's always the same.

any special talents?: I don't know what to put here. I have a lot of hobbies, but I'm not sure I'd say I'm particularly talented at any of them. I can tie a cherry stem into a knot inside my mouth? Does that count as a talent?

where were you born?: The United States.

what are your hobbies?: Oh geez, uh. Sewing, cosplay, writing, baking, drawing, reading, singing, playing the ukulele, video games, DnD and other tabletop games, mead making, crocheting, gardening, painting, ... I think that's it. But I'm thinking of picking up book binding and tambour embroidery for elf reasons.

have any pets?: see above answer about kids. 

what sports do you play/have played?: Played basketball for years, not because I was good, but because I was tall for my age, but I stopped once the other kids caught up in height. I really loved track in Middle School, and I was a pretty strong sprinter, but I gave it up in HS to focus on my schoolwork.

how tall are you?: Five foot seven. I'm actually the shortest of all my cousins, lol.

favourite subject in school?: It changed a lot depending on my interest in what we were learning about. I have an abiding love of science and history. I'm also partial to poetry, despite being beyond awful at making it.

dream job?: living in the Star Trek future with a universal basic income, lol. People in Star Trek just do what they want to do for work and it all seems to work out fine.

first ship: I've mentioned this before and I'll mention it again probably but Kagome x Sesshomaru from Inuyasha (SessKag). Can't help it, my 14 year old brain latched on REALLY hard.

three ships: Been reading some Bagginshield lately and that's growing on me. Adar x Palariel (my OFC, super normal about this one, lol). Been thinking some Galadriel x Luthien (pre-Beren) thoughts lately - might heck around and write a one-shot someday. Can you tell I'm only thinking about Tolkien things these days?

last (current) song: "The Devil is a Gentleman" by Merci Raines.

last movie: House on Haunted Hill (1958) with Vincent Price. Featuring my favorite line from any movie: "Darling, the only ghoul in the house is you."

currently reading: I am listening to "Oathbringer" by Brandon Sanderson in audiobook form, reading "The Haunting of Hill House" by Shirley Jackson, "The Fall of Numenor" and "The Fall of Gondolin" (thanks people who voted in the poll) in physical form, and reading an epic-length Bagginshield fanfic digitally.

currently watching: uh... I'm partway through season two of Succession. And I watched the first episode of Picard, season three. I'm very bad at watching television lately. It requires too much energy.

How do you feel about the adult SessRin fanarts out there.

I am not big on the ship, don’t like to approve of a child (mostly ones that are under 12) that he watch grow up little by little until she an adult and then he married her because she grown now. That just weird, creepy, and gross.

But I do like some of the drawings out there so I was wondering on your thoughts with the adult SessRin artwork.

Well, I personally don't like it. With all the respect. Setting stuff aside.

The art can look like something that someone else would deem great or I can make myself look at it but I always find myself seemingly having feelings of like disgust, weird and unsavory. Sorry, I just can't appreciate it the artwork. Due to reasons I've already talked about in the past.

I've been a fan since the early 2000s. I remember at first when it was just Sesskag, Sesskagu, Sesskik as the 3 first prominent ships with him, and SR was just starting. I was a kiddo and I recall curiosity got the better of me, trying to understand why that was a thing and what was the appeal, checking the artwork once from that time. Long story short: little kid me felt really weird about it and just decided not to look at it.

I didn't even understand sex or even love well at that time (my parents were a special case. They did not give me the talk. I learned on my own way later). It was like visceral reaction to it? Like "she's so small, why are they together?" "Is that normal?" It's what I can remember.

Ever since I just avoided it as much I could (till recent years that I decided to speak about it) and especially since that fandom even in earlier years would get confrontational and territorial about the topic.

56 and uhh.. wow. I guess if we include my Genshin account that would be 58? Wait! My Psued also has some so the total is actually - 74! Damn, that's more than I was expecting actually.

2. What's your total AO3 word count?

This is also going to take some calculating...

okay, the total from my mainaccount and it's pseud and my genshin account: 388,886. Kinda blew my mind to see that total lol

3. What fandoms do you write for?

Mainly Fairy Tail, but I've dabbled in Yu Yu Hakusho, Yuri On Ice, Naruto, Legend of Zelda and have begun to write for Genshin Impact!

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

Imma count this down- first being the lowest to the highest.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

It's 50/50. I like to reply when I can, but sometimes I'm in a rush or busy (or half asleep) when I see the comment and then completely forget about it until later. By then I feel awkward replying. ^^;;

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Uhh, I haven't.. ended.. the angstiest fics yet. But, since you're looking for an ending, I guess Sun in the Rain  ? Since it's dealing with grief and loss of parents?

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

How is this even harder for me to think of? Uhm, maybe I'll go with Fire Sprite No. 5 ? But there's a few others up there, I think.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I'll be honest, hate is very rare on my fics. (And I'm very grateful for it.) Usually I just have people pressuring me to update and guilt tripping me rather than outright hating on a fic. And some of the hate I received years ago is just funny to me. The worst one I ever got I just ignore because it was hardly worth my time.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Yes and.. the smut kind? (I do not understand the question o.o)

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

Only one! And for some reason I never posted it to A03 .. that's weird, I could have sworn I had. Anyway! The Forgotten Temple was a NatsuxLevy fic crossed over into the world of Breath of the Wild that I wrote for a friend. It's the only crossover I've ever done.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Once that I'm aware of! The Matching Scale had one person come to me to let me know someone had stolen it, but the fic was deleted days later. There's one other multi-chapter out there that's based off of it, but that writer got my permission to use the plot before they posted it.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

I've been asked 3 different times if someone could translate, but never saw the end result of that. I'm totally down for people to translate my work if they ever wanted to though. Just so long as it's credited and linked to the original.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

Yes.... and no... and.. yes? Okay, there's a few of them but they're not finished so I was never able to post them... Ahem...

14. What's your all-time favourite ship?

... Favorite? I'm supposed to have one all-time favorite? Seriously? No. Can't be. There's no way. I've got too many to pick one above all else.

My current Hyper Fixation is TravelerxXiao from Genshin Impact. (Though I'm partial to AetherxXiao rather than Aether's twin sister version of that ship.) Nalu is the one that gave me the most inspiration in Fairy Tail, but I also have a few crack ships that I adore in FT as well, Like CobraxLevy (Or FreedxLevy.. or.. there's a lot of Levy ships don't judge me.) and GrayxLoke. Then there's Sesskag in the Inuyasha fandom... Zelink in Zelda... Zutara in ATLA... and let's not get me started on characters I ship in books or I'll be here all day/night.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

As far as I'm concerned, every single published wip that I have not listed as discontinued WILL BE FINISHED. I'm determined to ensure they are. As for the unpublished ones though.. there's two that I don't think are going to make it outside of the planning and partial writing stage.. which is kinda sad to think about, but I simple can't add more to my plate than I already have.

16. What are your writing strengths?

I'm told I'm good at keeping characters ic even in au settings, so I guess I can see that's a strength, but covering the emotions and inner workings of a characters mind is probably where my biggest strength is. If there are any others.. well.. you tell me?

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Description- especially if I'm mixing it in dialogue- or trying to remember when I need to at least give the reader some idea of how a character looks. I get so worried about over describing that I end up not describing enough at all! It's a problem.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

Eh, if it's like.. for the setting, where some characters use a different language and don't know the main one, I think it works if done well. Asides from that, I usually avoid it and get thrown out of the story when I see it .

Uhhh... there's that word again. How can I just pick one child over the other? (Flame's Desire.) I can't just pick favorites like that when I have children running around all wanting attention from me - (Flame's Desire.) It would simply be unfair to pick one above the others when they're all so near and dear to my heart - (Flame's Desire.)

Anyway, I'll go with Flame's Desire, as well as the current Genshin Fic I recently wrote and am still editing so it's not posted yet. lol

The Silence - Part 7 (SKW2022D7)

SessKag Week 2022, Day 7

Invitation

It was in those quiet pre-morning hours, right as he was getting ready to leave when Sesshoumaru imparted the news that pitched Kagome’s already frail emotions into a tailspin.

His tone of voice was void of all emotion when he told her with little preamble: “My mother wishes to see you.”

Kagome’s heart seized in her chest. “What?” she managed to croak.

“Unfortunately, I cannot deny her,” he told her, seeming a little apologetic. “She is my Elder and the head of our pack.”

"Right," Kagome said absently. Had she known that? Sesshoumaru hasn't exactly been forthcoming about his life, or about his pack.

“May I come in two weeks’ time, at full moon? I can take you to her.”

“Sure, that works. Thanks,” she replied, her mind running a hundred miles a minute as she tried to understand what was going on. There must have been some reason for this, right? His mother wanting to see her must have meant something! 

“I will see you then,” Sesshoumaru said, pausing at her door. “Take care, Kagome.”

“You too,” she wished him. 

Usually, the goodbyes left her struggling with bittersweet sorrow but this morning she was too preoccupied with this sudden turn and all its potential implications to sink into the sea of her insecurities.

 True to his words, Sesshoumaru showed up two weeks later, at noon. For a moment, Kagome was distracted by the feel of his arms around her, of being gently tucked against his tall, solid frame, of the wind in her hair, of how far below the ground seemed to be as they ascended to the skies. But as soon as Kagome relaxed into this new and novel mode of travel, her doubts and speculations returned in a rush of confusion.

Deep in her chest, in spite of herself, there now lived a small seed of hope, spilling golden light inside out. She knew it was dangerous harbouring that hope, but she couldn’t help herself. Sure, she had no clue what was going on but while she’d been busy overanalysing this particular development, she’d come up with some hypotheses.

For one, the only way Kagome could imagine Sesshoumaru’s mother being aware of her existence was if Sesshoumaru had told her about Kagome. And that alone had to mean something, hadn’t it? You didn’t mention a secret casual bedmate in a conversation with your parents! Sesshoumaru certainly wouldn’t, he wasn’t the greatest conversationalist, to begin with.

So however this mystery meeting had come to be, well… It meant there was a chance, however slim. 

Kagome wasn’t sure how long they travelled in silence, but eventually, Sesshoumaru told her they were almost there. Kagome looked down, trying to see a village or a city or any kind of cluster of buildings down on the ground but only mountains stood below them. She turned and that’s when she finally saw the castle. Floating in the sky.

Kagome gaped. She didn’t have enough brain power left to process what she was seeing so she gave up and went with it. Floating castles, sure. Where else would a demoness live in?

They landed at the foot of stone stairs. Sesshoumaru started up the staircase and Kagome scrambled after him. His back was stiff as he strode before her and nervousness started to bubble up in the pit of her stomach. She should have asked him a lot of questions because she had no idea what to expect and she wasn’t at all prepared to —

They came to a halt on a platform on top of the stairs. Ahead, there stood a lone, throne-like chair and in that chair, a demoness sat.

Kagome saw the delicately curving markings and the painted lips, the rich layered kimono and the drape of white fur, the assessing golden eyes and the silver-white hair.

There was no question who this was. Kagome’s gaze skittered from Sesshoumaru to his mother, awed at the resemblance.

“Welcome, children,” she greeted. “I am delighted you accepted my invitation.”

“Thank you,” Kagome hurried to reply as Sesshoumaru stood silently scowling beside her. She wasn’t sure how to address his mother so she didn’t, and hoped she wasn’t being too rude. “I’m honoured you wanted to meet me.”

Sesshoumaru’s mother smiled. “How sweet you are.” The demoness' eyes flicked to Sesshoumaru. "You may leave us now."

"Mother—" Sesshoumaru started to protest, his jaw clenching.

"That is all, Sesshoumaru, " she dismissed him with a wave of her hand. 

Kagome gaped. Never in a million years could she have imagined Sesshoumaru being bossed around by anyone. His mother was no joke!

She glanced at Sesshoumaru. He looked tense and Kagome could almost see the waves of pure frustration emanating from him. He was staring at her and there was a look in his eyes she'd never seen there before, one that made her stomach flop. Then, he stiffly bowed his head and left.

"Now then," Sesshoumaru’s mother began, her attention snapping on Kagome, "we may talk freely."

She was smiling again, but the smile felt sharp and Kagome had to suppress a shiver. She suddenly felt very alone and more than a little scared.

One moment, Kagome was standing there, steeped in uncertainty. The next, a menacing torrent of youki buffeted her and there were deadly claws coming right at her throat.

Kagome didn’t think. She reacted, her reiki dancing to life. The claws scraped harmlessly against the shield she’d erected. She didn’t have a weapon but her hand had balled into a fist, coated by the wild power of her purity.

Sesshoumaru’s mother laughed and settled down on her chair as if she hadn’t just tried to rip out her throat. 

"Very good," she said, sounding pleased. "Excellent reflexes. Come, sit. Would you like some tea?"

And Kagome thought she was confused before! Her head was swirling and she felt like she was at least three steps behind everything that was going on.

“Tea sounds lovely, thanks,” she managed, her voice only a little wobbly. 

She dropped her shield and stuffed her reiki back in before walking over to the small chair placed in front of Sesshoumaru’s mother’s. Kagome took the seat, drew in a bolstering breath and met the demoness’ sharp gaze. The fear still lingered but Kagome steeled her spine and held that golden stare. Sesshoumaru’s mother’s lips quirked in a smile and her eyes warmed.

Kagome swallowed down her nerves. She hoped that sometime soon she would understand what she was doing here.
