Aubrey Bearsley’s art was everywhere in the Black Lizard’s club (but then again there ARE resonances between the stories of desire/love/death of both Kurotage and Salomé, right?), and I suddenly remember I really really should lay a hand on a copy of Oscar Wilde’s Salomé with his illustrations… *sighs*

Thought I'd share some of the set design I managed to sort out for Lost Heart (the photoshoots today!! 👀)
I made/designed everything myself. The hanging decoration is just a hula hoop I decorated and attached fishing wire to. The arch was from B&M for £15.
I still have to fill in the gaps with other set pieces today, but I'm really proud of what I have, considering everything came to just under £100.

I just think it’s so fun that a couple Instagram photos were used (:
I’m sure that’s a great source to pull from! I absolutely appreciate all the attention to detail for the show!!
PS: if anyone else happens to find the other two photos lmk? 😅 I miss Jackson & Kojo!!

Last summer I met up with @vesperal to discuss an idea we had - an idea to create a short film, and submit it to @fakedansavage's "HUMP FEST" amateur p*rn film festival. We decided on a theme of 'confessions', starring yours truly as the repentant sinner. 🙏 ⛪️
We decided that we wanted to build a church confessional out of an old wardrobe and I immediately started scouring the internet to find one for free - and the very next day there was a wooden wardrobe labelled FREE right outside of their house. Coincidence!? Too good to be true!
Unfortunately the film didn't get into the festival, but I hope to submit it to others this year, so we aren't releasing it publicly just yet. On the bridge side, we had this incredible handmade 'confessional' to shoot in when we recently had a viewing party for the film.
So here you go - another new photoset by the incredible photographer and videographer @vesperal ✨

Very likely the only remaining copies in existence, these production-used sketches are the original blueprints for the proposed Superlab on the Emmy Award-winning television series Breaking Bad! The first artwork contains an initial idea layout of the room with what was to be a budget of $40,000 for the entire lab. The other shows a more finalized rendering which includes the giant silver tanks in the center – something that drove the production costs MUCH higher to incorporate. This sheet is also marked with the date and season in which the set design occurred. ✍🏻
Complete with creasing, wrinkles, folds, marks, and handwritten notes, this would have been handled by the BrBa production and directing departments along with artists, designers, construction and crew. Acquired directly from the set dresser on the show who was in charge of purchasing all the materials and equipment used to create the final set for the Superlab, this super-rare find makes for an amazing conversation piece matted and framed up on my wall!

I've got art to fill every space in your life. I'm running some Spring Specials, and just reduced most of my things like canvas prints, blankets, leggings, and puzzles. As difficult as life gets, art should be accessible to everyone.

Has anyone had to do these LED balloons before?
They were probably my least favorite item that I had to use for an event. I had to do like 30 of them for a bat mitzvah as part of the centerpieces (along with multi colored orbees in huge ass cylinder vases). It took me forfuckingever to both put them together & take them back down.
I actually hate them more than the chiavari chairs. At least from a setup pov.
They do look cool here though.
I don't know how I missed that they were my decor nemesis until just a few minutes ago. Fuck doing enough of those to cover the ceiling, it would take forfuckingever.

I know this tweet is a few days old but I just can’t get over the level of detail and attention to detail that the crew of Stranger Things bring to this show! It’s truly astounding. Also thoughts on what we think these are? Because to me they look like melted marshmallows on top of blue jello? Was this a popular treat in the eighties? Do people still make these?

Is This Your Station?
Background illustrated by myself, tripod timer camera shot within my set and I was the model as I didn’t have anyone else who would instead to hand.

In haunted house movies they make the fake spider webs with a machine that is essentially a hot glue gun attached to a hair dryer and the first time you’re entrusted with one on set is your first experience of true power.

Saw these at IKEA recently. Are they…modelled after the Gävle Goat?
Edited-to-add (some time in early 2024): To all the people who have since helpfully added informative comments and links about the history of the Gävle Goat, Thank You! I've learnt so much from your posts!
To anyone seeing this now and in the future, I now know more about the Gävle Goat than I possibly need to, so you can stop flooding this post with the same-ish info now! Thanks!
And to people who cannot fathom someone not knowing about Christmas straw goats, please read this post and have some empathy and perspective. Thanks again!
