You might like Sonadow but how dedicated to the ship ARE YOU REALLY? Are you truly serving your fandom? Do you hold both palms open for the light and the darkness?
You can change your ways. You can repent. It’s not too late for you. Accept Sonadow into your heart and you will be free. The lord has said so himself in the book of Genesis.
“Follow me. Set me free. Trust me and we will escape from the city.” (Ted Poley/Tony Harnell 0:39)

Hi Bex,
Would you maybe know or agree if a parallel was made/ or a musical motif had been used "Set yourself free" and "Crossing the line" musically? I've looked into this to see if there was anyone talking about it or a confirmation, but here's what I noticed:
Use of guitar in both songs, with a strum at the beginning
And these sections
"Now the choice is yours and now life waits beyond the doors" / "Locked inside a tower, forced to live a life youve barely known"
and
"I've never got the chances you were given, you don't know how much I've been denied, well I'm not being patient anymore"/ "A line between the winners and the losers, a line between the chosen and the rest"
I'm not sure if you know anything about music, but I was wondering if you found the songs similar. I also looked at music sites such which say they have the same tuning for guitar! And the while I couldn't find a sheet for set yourself free I think they shared some of the similar aspects based on what I saw.
What do you think? I also would think they are connected thematically with their feelings at the very least. Thank you!
I've never heard any sort of confirmation about this, even when Glenn Slater was giving random facts and answering questions about the songs in the movie and series for the movie's 10th anniversary. All I can say for sure is that all the songs were written by Alan Menken and Glenn Slater, so of course there is going to be similarities in the instrumentation between two songs with similar moods that were written for the same show.

Note: all problems are intrinsically connected to this, and it's twin is the patriarchy. You really don't encounter one without the other.
Environment. Violence. Human rights. Discrimination and hate. It all...boils down to this. So if you care about x heavily and I care about y heavily, i still care about x too...because it is intrinsically connected.
Our causes do not divide us. Our causes unite us. Help eachother where we can.

How are folks gonna have some of the most shit on identities and still gonna find a way to shit on someone else's identity, like. I doubt it makes you feel better when you could be pissing on a terf's lawn instead of accidentally siding with them

~* Awake *~
The sounds of silence,
Of hollow echoes.
The empty rooms,
Of air and space.
Your face is vacant like an open passage,
As feelings of despair
Of the lost child in transit.
Life crashes in and rolls out the waves,
You must ride it they say,
For you are safe.
It hits and its crashes,
Til it gets you Awake,
Awake to where you are today.
Where have you been? You thought you once knew.
The unknown is all that is left to know.
Trust and faith are bridges to thee,
For your Life must Wake you,
For you to flee.
You pack her up and ready to go,
To return to the stars,
To where all hearts lead.
You Wake up now,
It's was never too late,
For life and destiny always awaits.
Your inner child gets out to play,
To finally see the break of day.
You see dear one,
Your sorrows knew,
That you have kept this child through.
To set your child free from within,
Is the key to your sanctuary,
And here it all begins...

It is only when we silent the blaring sounds of our daily existence that we can finally hear the whispers of truth that life reveals to us, as it stands knocking on the doorsteps of our hearts.

There is a secret medicine given only to those who hurt so hard they can't hope. The hopers would feel slighted if they knew.
You were born with potential.
You were born with goodness and trust.
You were born with ideals and dreams.
You were born with greatness.
You were born with wings.
You are not meant for crawling, so don't.
You have wings.
Learn to use them and fly.

I think "Set Yourself Free" is underrated. I always see it at the bottom of every TTS song tier list and that's just a crime.
(It is simple in every way but that what makes it beautiful. The lyrics and the melody are really uplifting in a way that after listening to it I always feel more confident in myself and in a way reassured that everything is going to be alright and that I'll get through any difficulty.)
I really like "Set Yourself Free"! It's nowhere near the bottom of my personal faves! It's a very important message, and one I was so happy to see Rapunzel learn.

This song speaks to my anxiety, my religious trauma, my people pleasing nature. There are obstacles beyond my control but there’s no reason that I have to be an obstacle to myself.
“No more letting someone else defining you to a T
You know that you are strong. You’ve known it all along.”
It is true most liberating sentiment imaginable to realize that I am worthy and capable by virtue of being myself. My challenge to myself is to remember that I am strong and resilient by nature. I will be soft to myself and I will be kind to others. I will be vulnerable with others and I will respect myself.
