Too many posts about how Chakotay would accept and follow Janeway no matter what she did for a man who was five seconds from starting a mutiny* against her in Equinox. He was 100% correct for almost doing that too but to me that means he would not be down with Janeway just doing whatever and has a strong sense of morality which is similar to but obviously not the same as Janeway’s and isn’t overridden by his affection for her.
Tumblr media
After Chakotay sees that Janeway’s willing to torture and potentially kill even one person for her sense of justice he strongly opposes her and seems ready to back up that objection with action if necessary. *There’s a vague indication at the end of the episode that to mutiny against her would be “crossing a line” and so he wouldn’t have done it but One) I personally feel that’s something easy to say after the crisis has been averted and there’s no longer any need for action. “I wouldn’t have done it” is easy when push is no longer coming to shove and you don’t want to think about whether or not you would have. “I wouldn’t have done it” - does Janeway say this to herself about the slaughter of the Equinox crew? Two) I still can’t imagine that Chakotay would have been happy, even if he hadn’t mutinied against her - he still would have strongly opposed her and did oppose her enough to be confined to his quarters.  and Three) This to me just reads as a ‘return to status quo’ easy line put in there to assure the audience that their relationship is unchanged when in reality I think such a large event would have to change their relationship in some way. Some lines require crossing. If someone you follow is doing something you consider morally wrong do you prize your loyalty to them over your own moral code? I believe it’s a very strong character choice that Chakotay’s answer seems to be ‘no.’ Until the very end of the episode it seems that there’s a limit to a ‘difference of opinion’ and he wouldn’t just let Janeway do something he considers evil unopposed because she’s the captain or he likes her. To say at the very end ‘Oh, he wouldn’t have ever gone against Janeway after all’ seems (to me) both disingenuous and weak from character writing standpoint.
In contrast, Tuvok also sees that Janeway has become obsessed with the idea of enacting revenge on the Equinox’s crew as he’s present for the ‘negotiation’ with the aliens in which Janeway literally promises the aliens that they can murder every last member of the ship.
Tumblr media
Tuvok’s answer is clear as we next see him on the bridge at his security post, actively helping Janeway with her plan despite knowing that, if successful, it’ll lead to the deaths of everyone on board. This is very interesting to me as he acknowledges that her behavior is irrational and as he doesn’t experience emotions and does temporarily oppose Janeway it isn’t as if he’s motivated by revenge or thinks this is a good plan/thing to do. However, I think his reasoning has something to do with the fact that he has so much trust in her. When she says “I know what I’m doing, Tuvok.” he believes her and is willing to follow along with her plan even if he personally might not like it. It’s a shame we don’t get more of Tuvok’s reasoning in this episode. He doesn’t have any more meaningful lines after this so we never really know why he doesn’t fight harder against Janeway but if I were to guess I’d guess it has something to do with what he says to Seven in Year of Hell.
Tumblr media
His trust in Janeway is absolute and he implies that he’d follow her and consider it the right thing to do even if he knew that her logic was flawed. That, to me, is also very interesting for a Vulcan.  Early on in the series Janeway tells Tuvok that he’s her moral compass, that she relies on him as both a friend and advisor - that she values him highly for his logic and depends on their relationship as Captain of the ship and as Janeway the person. She does this after bringing Tuvok a moral quandary which Tuvok attempts to ‘solve’ by making the difficult choice she can’t due to her ethical standards.
Tumblr media
Tuvok in this case knows that Janeway’s ‘highest priority’ is getting the crew home and that Janeway can’t accomplish this goal because she doesn’t want to break the law. However, Tuvok solves this by breaking the law for her. He acknowledges that Janeway won’t like this and says he’s prepared to lose his job and go to prison for it once they return to Federation space but to him it’s the logical choice and even at the very end of their conversation he upholds his decision as logical (as does Janeway, tempering it by pointing out how ‘logical’ reasoning is as prone to variance and the justification of wrong actions as ‘emotional’ reasoning.)
Tumblr media
I can’t help but wonder if this experience changed Tuvok since I can’t recall him ever really going against the Captain again and this sort of behavior/reasoning seems to be...not against his later stance of “The Captain is always right.” but more nuanced. He still thinks Janeway is ‘in the right’ and acts expressly so that Janeway can keep being ‘in the right’ while still fulfilling her goals. Equinox has a Maquis rebel, once considered a terrorist and now considered a dear friend, your first officer (banished from your sight) telling you that you’re doing the wrong thing, you’re hurting people out of a sense of vengeance, he doesn’t even recognize you anymore. “I won’t let you do this,” he shouts through the vents. “You can’t do this!” Meanwhile your security officer, moral compass and friend of twenty years and counting is standing at the ready, pointing his finger at the sacrificial wolf-turned-lamb (an optical illusion, it changes depending on where you stand) that wronged you. “Right there,” he’s saying though he objected to this once as well and kept silent thereafter. “There’s the heart.” I don’t know. I don’t have any grand conclusion to this, I just thought it was interesting! Chakotay-Janeway-Tuvok morality play, when?

tom/b’elanna and chakotay/seven double date is possibly the funniest trek romcom/horror movie pitch I can imagine. please say more about tom and seven's "banter"
TRULY I'm very glad you see the horrifying potential of this post as well
okay just imagine. they've been back on earth for a couple of months, no one in this group of people knows what the future holds exactly for them (two ex-maquis, one ex-maquis AND ex-con, one ex-borg), tom and b'elanna are exhausted since they're looking after a newborn baby. b'elanna is very pissed at chakotay for this relationship with seven thing (per this other post), chakotay resents that hostility and he's now mad at her and tom (whom he never liked, very understandably so because in addition to tom being kind of a dick to chakotay for no reason i don't think he ever truly forgot about janeway and tom making a fool of him with tom's fake defection, and now janeway isn't their captain anymore, so). tom in turn knows that chakotay doesn't like him and i don't think he'd lose an opportunity to get one up on him. then there's seven and b'elanna's whole rivalry (need i say more?)
to make a long story short probably the two people who are able to tolerate one another the most in that situation are tom and seven, and tbh i can see tom coming up with this whole double date thing and getting seven on board with the idea of "maybe we can make b'elanna and chakotay get along again". (except of course in addition to the more 'noble' motivation they both definitely have a score to settle)
but neither tom and seven are very good at banter in unfamiliar situations, i feel; i mean, at least tom can crack a joke (chakotay would not laugh) but seven would straight up just try a list of conversation starters, which would make b'elanna roll her eyes so hard. tom would start reminiscing about voyager and it'd inevitably be anecdotes involving him and harry, which after a while i think would make b'elanna upset because once again he's not including her. chakotay would respond with his own memories of tom's being insubordinate or some shit, which would make tom temporarily shut up but make b'elanna even more upset. seven might mention something mildly horrifying like she and icheb finding sleep on a bed uncomfortable compared to their old alcoves but finding the privacy of actual quarters refreshing, which would make chakotay and tom cringe but b'elanna would retort that it must be nice to get any sleep at all. if the topic moves to what starfleet plans to do with their requests of joining it will get immediately more awkward (since we know chakotay and tom got recommissioned and seven was shut out, b'elanna still a question mark). i can definitely see the night ending with a dessert half-eaten and a tom making a half-drunk allusion at his and b'elanna's nonexistent sexual life (see: newborn baby), and seven trying to make a joke about her sex life having gotten more interesting recently but really NOT nailing the tone. everyone goes home kind of scarred by the experience and in utter silence.
tl;dr i don't think a second double-date would happen

Silly Voyager Trends
There’s a throwaway line in one of Voyager’s episodes where Captain Janeway remarks that Tom had been behind a lot of fads on Voyager, so here are my silly headcanons for some of them :)
Fidget Spinners (Janeway and Tuvok are especially into these but Chakotay takes Janeway’s away because she keeps trying to do tricks she’s seen Tom do and failing and the sound of it constantly dropping gets on his nerves.)
Heelys (Janeway is really excited about these, but Tuvok points out that her heeled boots are too tall to include wheels and she pouts. Seven spends a ridiculous amount of time drawing up plans for high heeled heelys that would not lead to Kathryn breaking her ankles and enlists Harry to help. They give them to Kathryn for her birthday. She is delighted but Tuvok and the Doctor are not convinced of their safety. Tuvok decides to let it go, but the Doctor is angry that Janeway isn’t taking his advice, so he keeps coming up with schemes to take them away. He tries to convince Kes to help him but she refuses because the Captain looks like she’s having so much fun. All is well until the Captain stumbles and is unable to stop as she barrels down a very slanted street while making first contact. Seven has to pick her up and carry her to the sick bay because she refuses to go because she knows the Doctor is going to be infuriatingly smug. He makes Kes take a picture of him with a very disgruntled Kathryn Janeway and it hangs above his desk)
Among Us (The trend starts out relatively harmless, but Tuvok declares it a security risk and bans it after Harry and B'elanna get into a physical fight in the mess hall because Harry claimed B’elanna was peeking at his screen. Tom takes advantage of this and starts selling bootleg copies of the game for replicator rations. Chakotay finds out and tries desperately to get Janeway to throw him in the brig, but Janeway refuses)
Silly Bandz (Neelix’s food is more popular than ever after everyone uses up their replicator rations on collecting as many Silly Bandz as they can. Tuvok is infuriated by the bandz not being up to Starfleet uniform standards. The trend dies out after everyone gets sick of Neelix’s cooking. Naomi Wildman is overjoyed after everyone gives their leftover Silly Bandz to her. Tom Paris approaches her and tries to convince her to help him restart the trend so she and him can trade all of her bandz for replicator rations and split the profits. She pretends to agree, but takes all the rations for herself. Tom complains to Janeway, but Naomi tells him that their contract doesn’t count because she’s a minor. Tom regrets teaching her too well.
Stress Balls (This trend was mostly harmless. It briefly got out of hand when some of the engineering ensigns started tossing them at each other and a couple ended up in the warp core. They were banned from engineering and most people forgot about them. However, Tuvok still uses his, he finds it helps with his intrusive thoughts.)
Jigsaw Puzzles (The Doctor, Kes, and B’elanna take a shine to the puzzles and spend hours in the mess hall on a 3,000 piece Voyager schematic puzzle. Everytime they’re about to finish, Voyager gets caught up in some anomaly or space fight and their puzzle is dashed to pieces. They finally give up when five tries in, the Doctor is about to place the final piece when the ship lurches and the whole thing falls off the table. Kes burns the whole thing with her powers and they refuse to ever mention it again.)
Tamagotchis (Tom learns about them from one of his history books on 1990s Earth culture and is immediately obsessed. Everyone has a good time until Tuvok points out to Kathryn that nothing is getting done because people keep stopping to feed their tamagotchis. Janeway bans them for use outside of quarters but Seven keeps hers hidden with her in the Astrometrics lab. She finds taking care of something calms her down. Naomi knows about her hidden tamagotchi but has sworn to secrecy.)
Slime (A short lived trend after a distracted Neelix accidentally puts slime in the food and the Doctor demands it be banned after pumping the stomachs of a dozen ensigns unlucky enough to eat the slime. One of the victims, Vorik, refuses to talk to Neelix for a week.)

Had a dream where I was watching Star Trek Voyager and the plot of the episode was that Harry Kim looked exhausted and vaguely ill so Janeway took him to sickbay and the Doctor examined him and found out that he was pregnant. They treated it as normal like any other pregnancy announcement and didn’t explain if it was a trans rights moment or a science is that advanced moment. Janeway had an overprotective moment wanting to know who the other parent was (just some random name).
But the real A plot of the episode was that at Harry’s baby shower, an alien ambassador gave him a porcelain doll. The doll, of course, ends up being haunted.
So haunted house type things are happening on the ship like creepy laughter and lights turning off etc, and Tuvok and Neelix end up having to work together because Tuvok assumes there is a saboteur and Neelix thinks it’s a space sprite inter dimensional visitor. They end up tracing the events back to the baby shower and trace energy readings to Harry’s quarters.
They try to carry the doll to sickbay but it keeps making stuff go wrong, like activating force fields or turning off life support in corridors, so they can’t. They end up beaming the doll to sickbay and scanning it and finding brain wave activity patterns in the doll’s head.
Then they have meetings debating what to do because they don’t want to be rude and return the doll to the ambassador who gave it. B’elanna proposes trying to make a containment field container that is modulated to the brain wave pattern. Paris just suggests beaming it to space and shooting it with phasers because ‘it’s a haunted doll ????????’ Smashing it is generally considered a no go because the spirit might just be released into the ship. (If this was picards enterprise Im sure they would be debating the ethics of killing a ghost). Harry Kim just wants it out of his quarters and is visibly relieved that the problem has been seized on by the other senior officers, because he spends the entire episode looking clammy and tired and vaguely ill.
They try the containment field and it at first seems to work. The doll is of course unmoving, but the field has the sparking spots of light that show interaction becoming more and more frantic. Then the container explodes and all of the lights in the area go out. Creepy laughter is heard. The lights come on and the doll is gone.
Now its a red alert manhunt, running through the corridors trying to find it. Seven of Nine, who has been a skeptic this whole time, manages to corner the doll in a cargo bay and throws herself at it to attach her comm badge to it.
They beam the doll into space, shoot it with phasers, and warp away without watching the explosion. The final shot of the episode is the ‘empty’ area of space and then the creepy laughters.

Not feeling well today so just lying here blowing up the AI generator with the following prompts....
> Janeway and reader are in a secret relationship and subtly tease each other in a room of people trying out-arouse the other the most (because Janeway licking her lips while gazing over at me would crumble me)
> Janeway catches reader flirting with Seven, yanks reader into her quarters and shows her what's what (because I love Dom!Janeway)
> Janeway somehow becomes a vampire and seductively feeds on Seven every night, then makes her forget (because Janeway would be pretty sexy with fangs)
Basically I just keep adding 20 things and hoping the story turns out perfect so I don't have to edit much. 90% will be great and then along comes the 20% that makes no sense. Like the male anatomy Janeway suddenly sprouts, or how she can be on her knees one second and then upside down on the ceiling the next. (Okay, maybe not that extreme, but still.) Either way, I'm having fun. I saved a few of the better ones to share at some point.

MOMENTS THAT MAKE THEM SOFT FOR YOU
Tumblr media
times when the voy crew got hearteyes for the reader
CW: gn! reader
CREW: kathryn janeway, chakotay, the doctor, b'elanna torres, tom paris, harry kim, seven of nine
Tumblr media
KATHRYN - it was very, very late at night (early in the morning?) and kathryn clearly decided that work was more important than sleep. it wasn’t a surprise to find her still up with an almost-empty cup of coffee in arm’s reach - it would’ve been more surprising if she’d gone to bed, in all honesty. you were groggy, half-asleep, dragging yourself out of bed wrapped in a sheet and stumbling in the direction of the soft noises of the computer. kathryn didn’t register your presence until you spoke up, voice hoarse when you ask if she knows what time it is. she answers, you correct her - to kathryn’s credit, she did look shocked upon learning the time. but instead of scolding her or proving yourself right with the pounding ache behind her eyes, you walk up beside her. softly pulling a PADD from her grasp and mumbling that you want her to come to bed. kathryn’s been a captain for some time now, but she knows an order when she hears one, and follows it with a sloppy smile.
CHAKOTAY - ever since he was a boy, chakotay’s found it hard to really let down his walls around the people he loves. he’s naturally introverted - a strong and commanding presence but intensely private and thoughtful. and though he prefers to keep much of himself to himself, chakotay does enjoy a bit of people-watching, especially when it comes to you. one time, you dragged him into the holodeck for some program that’s been making rounds on the ship. chakotay had no interest in it, but you seemed excited and he couldn’t bear to kill that smile. away from the gray bulkheads and threat of delta quadrant mysteries, you had this light about you, brighter and warmer than the holographic sun and chakotay really couldn’t take his eyes off you. a moment when you were so purely, genuinely you had become one of his favorite memories.
THE DOCTOR - his first time having a “meal” in the mess hall had been with you. it wasn’t a particularly special night - the doctor had been getting used to wearing his emitter more domestically. walks around the ship, visiting the bridge, watching kes work in the hydroponics bay. he never had much reason to go to the mess hall before, but the doctor ran into you on the way and you asked him to join you in the most natural way ever. as if you were talking to a flesh and blood man. the doctor didn’t eat, and you picked at neelix’s dinner while talking about a problem you and harry have been working on and it really struck the doctor how easy it was for you to treat him like any other member of the crew. eventually, you asked him why he was smiling. he said it was the best meal he’s ever had.
B’ELANNA - it did take quite a while for b’elanna to get used to the idea of somebody simply knowing her. she knows she isn’t exactly enigmatic - if she’s angry, you’ll hear about it. still, she prefers to keep people at arm’s length. the less they know, the less they can hurt her. but b’elanna didn’t even realize you’d been observing and learning her until a long, stressful day in the jefferies tube had made her snippy and frustrated. you gave her space, allowed her to vent, silently offered her tea to relax. feeling that hot ball in her belly begin to cool down, she was a surprised - when was the last time somebody stuck around during one of her fits without telling her to relax or leaving? she couldn’t recall. and when you kissed her cheek and told her to get some rest, b’elanna almost asked you to stay. it wouldn’t be logical - you both needed to be up early in the morning. but that night, her quarters felt much less restrictive than usual. and b’elanna went to bed that night wondering if she truly was that easy to read.
TOM - he had no ulterior motives for offering flying lessons - plenty of people on the ship may say otherwise, but in all honesty, tom didn’t care all that much. in his eyes, there was nothing wrong with two people who enjoyed each other’s company to practice something that could come in handy in a crunch. he taught you the basics first (though, tom kinda breezed past them - he knew you were smart enough to catch on). asteroid fields, ion storms, enemy ships, he threw everything at you to teach you the best ways to overcome each obstacle and you did with flying colors. though, you were never very good at landing the shuttle. crash after crash discouraged you up until the one lucky landing but you were so happy, you threw your arms around him with laughter and he didn’t want to burst your bubble by telling you the holographic planet had a lower gravity than even earth. nah, he wanted you to enjoy your little victory, and selfishly, wanted to enjoy your smile.
HARRY - honestly, it’s not hard to make harry super soft - a nice smile and a gleam in your eye is enough to make him fall head-over-heels again. but if there’s one moment to choose from, it’s gotta be when you two were jammed together in the jefferies tubes trying to repair a broken relay. you were talking, throwing jokes around, laughing despite how much it echoes through the tubes. harry, admittedly, lost his focus and accidentally grazed his hand against a live current. with a flash of sparks and the faint smell of burnt circuits, harry let out a little yelp and yanked his hand back. instantly, you were on him, inspecting the damage and asking if he needed to go to sick bay. harry refused, you kept pushing it, but honestly? with the way you cradled his hand in yours and looked so concerned, he barely even felt the pain. he had a stern talking to from the doctor for waiting so long, but harry really didn’t want to leave that tube unless he was dying.
SEVEN - it was during the birthday party of a lower deck engineer when seven realized…she really didn’t know how to socialize at parties. the doctor had given her his own articles he read years ago, and the captain even gave her a bit of advice. but try as she might, seven couldn’t carry a conversation that wasn’t about ship’s functions or laugh at the jokes that tom told and made the whole room bust a gut. she thought about leaving until you came up to her, offering a drink, and asking how she’s enjoying the party. seven figured you would continue circling the room after a small conversation, but no, you stayed right with seven. sometimes bringing her into the fray of a larger discussion, but most times just hanging back and being casual. your motivations? she was unsure. maybe pity for someone unable to be social if her life depended on it. or maybe (and this was harder to grasp) you wanted to spend time with her at a birthday party… seven is going to have to research more on this.

Prompt “If you feel safer with me being there, you know I will always be there.”
prompt from here! ( thank u sm )
breathe in, breathe out.
seven knew she did not have to be this nervous. it was going to be a short ceremony. at least that’s what jean-luc promised her. that was until she found her temporary home decorated with flowers and letters–and then some over-the-top holographic clip, no doubt from the doctor. it would have been preferable if that was the only obstacle she had to face.
someone had entered her quarters. a silhouette, hovering over the bookshelves, quite familiar—then the figure turns. it was too good to be true. janeway, now face-to-face with her, and while seven had about 2 decades of learning how to mask the fact her breath always hitches at the sight of the incredible woman, the practice never came to fruition, at least not as effective as she’d prefer it to be.
“commander, you’re early.” eyebrows raised in amusement. janeway was able to tell that she is not processing reality as efficiently as she usually would.
“you’re here.” her response, albeit a little breathless and weak was met with a gentle smile. janeway steps closer into her personal space–something very welcome. to make her point, janeway reaches and adjusts her perfectly-aligned collar.
“did you really think i would have let jean-luc put these pips on you?”
no. at least that’s what seven’s mind manages to say, still feeling tongue-tied.
“speechless, for once?” that earns her another eyebrow raise. she needed to retaliate–but the nerves and the overwhelming sense of kathryn janeway being in her proximity were ganging up on her senses.
“i told you, if you feel–”
“–safer with me being there, you know i will always be there. i was listening, kathryn.” seven looks away from janeway’s gaze, still uneasy about today and then the eventual future.
“then why the long face, darling?” janeway caresses her face and seven could not help but lean into the touch. fingers tracing her jaw and up to her optical implant, gentle and light touches.
“i am unsure if i could live up to this–to make people follow me, like you have.” she says the last part in a whisper—it was all she could manage without her voice showing the slightest crack. janeway holds her steady, fingers lifting her by the chin, and looks at her with such tenderness she never knew she deserved.
“seven, you are part of who i am today. you were barely growing into an individual during the process, but you questioned me every step of the way, made me re-evaluate who i am—you changed me, and it will always be for the better.”
the words ‘thank you’ wouldn’t come out of her lips–rather, they seemed to refuse to every time janeway’s wisdom dawned upon her. so she settles for action, leaning down to kiss the woman who always made her feel safe and loved without demand.
“seven, they’re already lining up to—oh look, the two people that starfleet is finding are here.”
janeway let out a chuckle when they parted, briefly fixing seven’s hair before turning the woman and urging her to the direction of the door.
“i was only giving her a pep talk, jean-luc.”
“interesting conclusion to a pep talk.”

Okay, idea...
I just can't get the image out of my head of 1) Chakotay with handmade wooden baby toys in his hands and 2) baby Harry.
Like, seriously, imagine how good it would be if there was an episode (or fic, I'm not picky) where Voyager has escaped from a planet who had managed to kidnap our baby boy Harry Kim (but thanks to some quick thinking, the crew has rescued him). After an examination, the Doctor has cleared Kim. But, the next morning, he does turn up to his shift and after a quick computer query, it's established that Harry's in his quarters.
Janeway sends Chakotay down to go get him (and give him a talking to) but it's not too long later when the Commander calls her to come down. Confused and a little frustrated, she complies. When she enters Harry's quarters, she finds Chakotay with his back to her. He slowly turns around and she can't help but gasp at the sight of (literal) baby Harry Kim in his arms.
They take him to sickbay and after scanning Harry, the Doctor realizes that he needs more time to work out what's happened and come up with a way of reversing it, but he doesn't want to keep the infant in sickbay so he puts what looks like one of those cute little amber necklaces babies wear on Kim (it's actually to track his vitals) and sends him off with the command team.
Kathryn and Chakotay decide to take Harry to Kathryn's ready room while they decide what to do. The Captain wishes she had some toys for the universe's littlest ensign and Chakotay quietly excuses himself. He comes back later with a handful of wooden toys he's obviously made himself.
Kathryn eventually discovers that he'd made them for his son (damnit Seska).
In the end (because this is Voyager after Scorpion), Seven manages to create something that works on the principals of a Borg maturation chamber with the assistance of the Doctor and B'Elanna and Harry is returned to normal (but his bond with Chakotay and Kathryn is deepened).

Wait hang on I’m having soft feelings about Janeway bringing Donnie to the holodeck and showing him the Da Vinci simulation.
Idk how exactly they get there, maybe it’s becoming a bit more obvious that Donnie is getting restless, maybe he’s been spotted messing around in engineering or the jeffries tubes more than he’s strictly allowed to be, maybe he’s just been a bit more irritable with people around the ship, or maybe it’s because Janeway heard him in the mess hall complaining that a lot of the “kids” programs they have queued up on the holodeck currently steer a lot younger than he is.
(hey, he’ll gladly go with Naomi if she asks him to, but sometimes he wants something to do in there but whenever he looks at the program catalog he gets overwhelmed by the sheer number of options and can’t pick anything)
And Janeway can’t help but recall an encounter with a young, future helmsman (that either he doesn’t remember or just doesn’t want to admit he does) that helped keep a lid on the potential chaos that a very bored young man can get up to. And it’s no secret that Donatello’s interests skewed toward more cerebral subjects. She has the perfect program to show him.
Sam is a little surprised when the captain arrives at their quarters, but not so much. It’s sometime in the midafternoon by the ship’s internal clocks, and Voyager hasn’t had much need for extra repairs or maintenance lately, so there’s a bit of lull in crew activity right about now. There’s less that the captain needs to actively keep a watch over so long as Tom doesn’t fly them into some other anomaly this week.
And when Naomi was younger it wasn’t so uncommon that the captain would stop by to play with her or just check in on how Sam was doing. She cared about her crew like that. But she didn’t come quite as often as late, but Sam has a suspicion that her new ward is probably the reason for this impromptu visit.
“Is Donatello here with you right now?” Ah, she knew it.
“He’s back in his and Naomi’s room,” she said as she stepped aside to let the captain in.
“Do you mind if I borrow him for a little while?” Janeway asked.
“Not at all,” Sam replied. “Just let me tell him you’re coming in, I think he might be taking apart and rebuilding another data pad in there.” And Sam walked into the back of the quarters to retrieve Donnie.
At least he puts the data pads back together, Kathryn thought. Still wish I’d thought of this sooner, though.
Sam came back out a moment later, and with a mouthed “ok,” waved Kathryn into the kids’ room.
Donatello sat in the desk chair, he rapped his knuckles agains his knees. He made a slightly humorous image, sat in a chair that was just slightly too small to accommodate his height and gangly teenage limbs. It was originally just Naomi’s desk and chair after all, but now the two had to share.
Naomi herself was currently nowhere to be seen, but that probably meant she was either with Neelix or Seven of Nine.
“Hi, captain,” Donatello said meekly. It pains Kathryn that he’s still so nervous around her, but hopefully today she can fix that.
“Good afternoon, Donatello,” she greeted warmly. “Are you doing alright today?”
“I’m, uhhh….” He glanced furtively at the remains of the data pad on the desk, she wasn’t quite sure if he was in the taking apart or putting back together stage. “I’m doing okay today,” he started to tug at his sleeves. He pulled them over his hands and rolled them back again.
“Well I’m glad to hear that, because if you don’t mind coming with me, there’s something I’d like to show you.” She let fondness deep into her tone, she didn’t want to give him the wrong idea and think he was in trouble.
“Ooookay?” He raised one drawn-on-eyebrow (okay she can’t help but think that is actually a bit funny, what a peculiar habit to have. But it does make him easier to read).
She offers him her hand and helps pull him upright out of the too short chair. They wave goodbye to Samantha on their way out, and Kathryn starts leading Donatello towards the holodeck.
They walk in (what Kathryn hopes is) companionable silence. All that is heard is the barely audible swoosh swoosh of Donatello's pants and the clicking of her boots down the hall.
Upon arrival to the holodeck, Donatello once again raises his brow in mild curiosity. "Captain, no offense, but I've been to the holodeck before."
She chuckles, "Yes, I am aware of that, Donatello," she says good-naturedly. "I am also aware that most boys your age have well outgrown The Adventures of Flotter at this point, yes?"
Donnie shrugs noncommitally. He had never grown up with those stories to begin with, but he's not about to argue semantics right now. "I suppose," he finally said. "Naomi likes them, and I like Naomi, so...."
She chuckles again, and leans against the wall casually like she isn't both the coolest and most intimidating person Donnie has ever met. And he knows April O'Neil, so that's saying something.
"I suppose that's fair, but still, it can't hurt to branch out," Captain Janeway's face took on a more sober expression, and Donnie started to fidget with his sleeves again. "There's a place I like to go to when I'm feeling particularly stressed, or stuck on a problem, or too bogged down in my own thoughts.
Now, I think what you're dealing with is a little bit different, but I still think that this might help, and I want you to feel free to come here whenever you need to. Computer, load holodeck program "Janeway 7."
The computer responded with a chime and the archway opened. Captain Janeway waved him inside.
Donnie isn't sure what he expected, but he doesn't think it was this. There's a pleasant warmth in the air as (artificial) sunlight filters in through open windows, illuminating a stone room that seems to be some sort of workshop of all things. That is, if all the tools, design sketches, and half built inventions laying about are any indication. But amongst the various engineering projects there's also a myriad of half completed sculptures, drawings, and paintings strewn all throughout the shop in a sort of organized chaos.
Donnie steps through the workspace carefully, looking over everything as he goes. In the back of his mind he remembers that none of it is real. It's all a holographic hard light projection, but it's a very detailed one. He can't help but be fascinated. He's so enthralled that he starts when a deep, boisterous voice suddenly shouts,
"Katerina!"
Donnie looks up to see a white-bearded man descending the stairs of the workshop, a big grin splashed across his face.
"Katerina, it has been too long! Too long since you last visited me," the old man said. He had a thick Italian accent. "You know, I almost considered finally going off to France for good this time. The King has been sending me letters non-stop, begging me to come to court." The old man had been so focused on Captain Janeway, that it took a moment for his eyes to actually alight on Donnie.
"Ah, I see you have brought another strange friend with you, is he another "Scandinavian" like your friend, Tuvok, or does this young man hail from some other foreign shore?" He asked, looking Donnie up and down with an appraising eye.
"Maestro," Captain Janeway starts, "This is Donatello, he... has recently come to be under my care, he is also a student of the sciences." Bit of an understatement but Donnie will take it. If the Captain takes this holodeck character to be some sort of mentor figure, then he must be pretty impressive himself.
"Ah, well then it is very good to meet you, Donatello," the old man says jovially.
"It's nice to meet you too, Maestro...?" Donnie trails off.
"Ah! Of course, I have forgotten my hospitality. You may call Leonardo da Vinci."

 “you think i didn’t notice?” post endgame j7 😈
tw: brief mention of suicidal ideation
her hair is the shortest it’s been since their fourth year on voyager when she’d realized, maybe for the first time, just how far from home they really were. it doesn’t reach her jaw. it’s easier to manage.
she’s made it through the hearings. she’s expecting a promotion. her apartment is still bare. there is a medkit on her kitchen counter and she can count the number of times she’s thought about emptying its contents in one go.
the one year anniversary of their return home would have passed without her knowing if not for the federation gala.
she’s had three whiskeys when seven takes the seat to her left. she looks almost like she did the day they stepped off the ship. her hair is pinned back in an elaborate french twist, but she’s traded her suit for a pale blue satin slip dress. she’s wearing lip gloss. she’s holding a champagne flute in each hand. she places one in front of kathryn.
“good evening, captain,” seven’s voice is softer now and janeway finds it almost unnerving. she had expected seven to stay exactly the same, or maybe she'd hoped.
“good to see you seven,” she says brusquely, “i was just heading to see harry over there,” she nods in the general direction of the group standing nearest the bar. harry and tom and an admiral she doesn’t recognize. she stands and bruises the wrinkles out of her dress, something red she’d borrowed from phoebe.
“you did not appear to be going anywhere, captain. hence my decision to join you.”
janeway doesn’t sit, but she resigns herself to the conversation. she’ll keep it brief.
there’s a ring on seven’s third finger. it’s modest in design, but to kathryn it’s jarring. garish. she knew this day was coming. still, it doesn't make it any easier, now that it’s here.
“chakotay finally get the hint?” she asks, and it takes a moment for seven to understand, to look at her left hand like it’s foreign, hardly recognizable. kathryn doesn’t know if seven looks guilty, or if it’s just her imagination, or the whiskey, or a combination of the two.
“you think i didn’t notice?” she means to sound genial, but it comes out sounding accusatory.
“captain,” seven sounds surprised, or maybe she’s excited. it’s been a year. maybe janeway has lost the ability to read her. “i planned to tell you. i expected you to be pleased with this development.”
once, janeway had promised to take seven to see the farm she grew up on, had spent nights lying awake in her quarters thinking up itineraries for the two of them. local tourist spots and her favorite hiking trails and the forest where her dad had taken her camping once, when she was just old enough to start memorizing constellations. when she was too young to appreciate it.
“believe me seven,” she reaches to cover seven’s right hand, lying atop the table, with her left. it is the only physical contact she’ll allow herself tonight. it will have to be enough. “i couldn’t be happier.”

Fake Voyager episode where the ship is invaded by parasitic aliens which take the form of those close to you.
The episode begins like any normal episode but at the very end of the cold open someone appears on the bridge. It’s...Mark? Instead of being shocked Janeway just laughs softly and says something like “I told you not to come onto the bridge while I was working!” and Mark says he couldn’t help it, he just couldn’t wait to see her again! The crew laughs softly. Camera zooms in on Mark’s smiling face as he wraps an arm around Janeway, ominious sting - we know something isn’t right. THEME TUNE! These aliens are telepathic and feed off of desire - with loneliness being especially potent to them. (They can only manifest in a disguised physical form if your desire is for a physical thing Ex: An animal, a diamond ring but they’ll feed on any desire.)This unfortunately made Voyager and her crew a gigantic target for them. They also have the ability to make it so you believe that they’ve always been there. Because of this, no one aboard Voyager finds it strange that their loved ones have appeared. The doctor knows something is wrong (as he doesn’t have a brain to leech off) but the aliens quickly turned him off, saying he was malfunctioning. Seven of Nine is also a complicating factor because while she is lonely she does not have anyone she knows that isn’t already on the ship. I think the aliens would probably just try to have her put in the brig or confined to her quarters. Same with Naomi, who has everyone she’s ever known already aboard. She’s very frightened of her “dad” who has suddenly appeared and who seems to know Naomi knows it isn’t him. Eventually everyone is able to realize that something has gone wrong and fight back against the aliens! Whew. Hey wait where’s Tuvok? Tuvok is a DELICIOUS meal for these aliens. He’s very lonely and fiercely protective of the alien whom he believes is his daughter, Asil, as a small child. The Asil alien quickly becomes stronger and the stronger she becomes the harder it becomes to snap Tuvok out of his delusion.  Like, the more you become attached to the thing the alien’s pretending to be the stronger it becomes and the more it can do to entice you and the more enticed you are the stronger it becomes and the stronger it becomes- Onwards and onwards. The less you believe that the alien is the thing you desire, the less you desire it, the weaker it becomes. The aliens also communicate telepathically so while those under the aliens’ influence can hear/understand them perfectly well - once you are broken free you can only hear a strange shriek and croak sound. This makes it difficult to convince others of anything since you can’t respond to what the alien is saying at that point. So the crew is throwing all the aliens out into space or whatever as they shriek and writhe and croak and Tuvok is in his quarters as some security ensigns approach his door. The Asil alien tells Tuvok that they’re going to kill her - she doesn’t want to die, please, help her. Tuvok assures her that he will not allow that to happen. Fighting ensues. At the climax of the episode Tuvok manages to be convinced by Janeway to let the Asil alien go so that she flies out the airlock, shrieking. However, he does this while still under the delusion (logically, it makes sense to trust Janeway and not what he realizes is his emotions.) and so he hears what sounds to him like Asil shrieking, betrayed, dying. He collapses.  At the end of the episode he and Janeway talk. Janeway tells him that it wasn’t Asil. No matter what he heard or saw, it wasn’t her. Tuvok doesn’t respond/gives a weak response and she leaves. Tuvok goes to some drawer and pulls out a box with pictures of his family. He looks particularly at the ones with him and Asil. Zoom out...zoom out...Episode ends.

Tuvok and Seven should have solved the Pon Farr together
Okay, yes, I realize that Tuvok is totally devoted to his wife, but think about it. His wife had to have had someone else to get through the Pon Farr too, right? Like a discreet neighbor or something. It's Vulcan. I mean, why wouldn't they have some sort of arrangement?
But clearly Tuvok hasn't thought of anything cause he's like, nah, I can just meditate this crap away which uh no dude, you cannot, how old are you anyway? Packing all that emotion, rage, etc. that Vulcans actually have in abundance rather than less of is gonna make anyone explode unless dealt with (which is also why Janeway and Chakotay would have exploded from the sexual tension by like season 4 at least.) So what can Tuvok do?
Using the Holodeck is a total copout, in my opinion. That's like saying all Vulcans have had to do this whole time when separated from their mates was keep a dirty magazine hidden under their mattress. I just don't think so. This is like his wife - you aren't gonna fool Tuvok with a picture of her, guy's been married for decades. He's got her down and you can bet he remembers every seven years' bonanza cause come on.
Here's where Seven comes in. Tuvok and Seven GET each other. They're stranded together with a bunch of overacting illogical beings that never listen to them and thus constantly run into trouble that could have been prevented had they just listened to Tuvok or Seven. They know this. Ultimately, they have to go along with everything, but that doesn't stop them being sarcastic as hell about it. I bet they got together for some tea every once in a while and spilled that tea like mad, making fun of the rest of Voyager until they'd snarked themselves senseless.
Another thing they have in common - the total practicality. Seven wants to experience everything, but she's not going to just fall in love with anybody (especially not somebody random but we won't get into that). No, if Harry had gone along with her it would have been a one nighter, and she'd have left like "That will be all, Harry". Which would have hurt Harry but -
Not Tuvok. No, this would be perfect for him. He'd get the necessities out of the way, and she'd get her experience, and then they'd just walk away and never, ever mention it to themselves or anyone else and been completely fine with it. Just carried on their friendship as usual.
I realize this was network T.V., blah blah (though look at what they DID get away with, just think about it) but I think it'd be absolutely perfect. Tuvok & Seven besties till the end.
Tumblr media
They would never, ever tell and the thought is so awesome.
Alternate solution: Tuvok could have killed Neelix. You know he wanted to do it. Look how happy he was to murder him in the Holodeck! And all he'd get would be confinement to his quarters where he could be alone and do science projects. No problem!
Tumblr media
Tuvok's thinking about it RIGHT NOW.
You're welcome, Voyager writers.

Harry Kim
Everyone loves harry
He could finally have been promoted above ensign
Garet has mentioned wanting to get back into live acting and this might be a good option for him
I feel like if he was asked. He would say yes!
Tom paris
Robbie is very focused on directing and seems to be bust with resident alien
Not really into acting anymore but did do lower decks (mentioned in delta flyers that he doesn't have an acting agent anymore)
Janeway
She has been name dropped - a lot
It would have made sense as shes an admiral
Terry says we wont see her in picard
Focus in jayneway in prodigy
Unless thats a massive double bluff seems jayneway is out.
Chakotay
In prodigy at the moment
News just out that he was approached about being mr seven in the confed universe in s2 but turned it down
Wouldnt do a "bit part"
Problematic actor. (twitter etc)
B'Elanna
Roxann directing now
We have B'lanna in the comics - ro was and we just saw her onscreen… shes related to what wofr and ro were up to!
Tuvok
Lots going on with starfleet intelligence.
He was undercover before
Vulcsn tie in with the latest baddy addition.
Tim russ has appeared in quite a few treks, why not make it one more
Naiomi wildman
The choice we would have loved.
But that show runners have confirmed there was no time to include.
Neelix
How would he have got here from the delta quadrant?
Would he fit in with anything that's going on? I mean - probably not.
The Doctor
I feel bob would say yes in a heartbeat
Something was mentioned about there being multiples of the returning voyager. This could be achieved with a hologram
He could be any version in the EMH mk1
We've seen a mobile emitter!
Voyager
The voyager coming back is just the voyager ship!
Red herring!!
We saw one in Sevens quarters and maybe we will see another in the fleet museum. Maybe even a new voyager too?
Another crew member I have not mentioned

May I greedily request another dialogue prompt ficlet, please?
Janeway/Paris (or Janeway&Paris would also be good; it doesn’t have to be romantic) - “What are you doing out here by yourself?”
Not greedy at all — request away, @lindsaybob! 💕 These are fun. 🥰
I’m going to go AU on this one for a post-Endgame established relationship. Fingers crossed you like it, and please keep the prompts coming, y’all.

In This Place of Dreams, We Find Ourselves
McKinley Station is as bustling as ever, computer chirps overlapping low-toned conversations, clipped orders, and seemingly far away reverberations of metallic clangs.
But it was silence that brought Tom out from their temporary quarters, doors parting so he could squint in the bright light of night shift, try to saunter as if he doesn’t have a care in the world, as if the grey-shouldered uniform he was issued doesn’t somehow feel like a betrayal of the red shoulders he wore for those seven years out there.
Kathryn had said she was going to take a walk. And Tom is used to that, used to her insomnia and her fears that would grow too big for their quarters on Voyager and her need to go away and come back because coming back to something — to someone — would remind her that it’s possible to come home again.
But now they are home, technically, and she’s doing it again.
Maybe she’ll always be like this. Maybe those seven years have changed her, etched a new personality over the old one.
Maybe not.
There’s a narrow corridor not far from the port docking clamps, an out of service section of the station overlooked by most adults. But children, bored admirals’ children brought to McKinley Station and told to entertain themselves with a padd while their flag officer parent sat in meetings, those children can find the narrow corridor, follow it until they reach the open-air turbolift, then tap in the access code that’s easy to guess because who sets Federation Day as an access code if they don’t want children to be able to guess it?
Tom retraces his childhood steps, keys in the old access code, and the turbolift rises. And it’s funny because people say visiting a place from childhood should feel strange, proportions out of place and objects seeming too small, but everything is just as he remembers, just as he and Kathryn talked about so many times once they both realized that, separately, they had found this place and stood on small tiptoes to try to get to the top faster, stolen lift ride ascending until it reached the top.
He’s at the top now, the lift settling with the same seeming sigh of accomplishment.
And awe.
The old, floor-to-ceiling transparent dome gives a clear view: Earth, Mars, the asteroid belt and beyond, every star gleaming, ships gliding past, motion as observed from stillness. This is the station’s original docking control room, a function long-since moved to deck six for closer proximity to other station operations, old computers left behind for reasons lost to time.
But nothing could beat this view.
Kathryn is sitting cross-legged on the floor, her back resting against an out-of-date console. She doesn’t turn from the stars — her stars, her North Star that became his North Star to get the crew home — but she must know it’s him because her voice is a gruff imitation of his father: “What are you doing out here by yourself?”
That’s what Owen Paris had said when he caught Tom in this room, small arms out pretending to be nacelles, flying, flying, flying.
So Tom pitches his voice to the timbre of Edward Janeway: “Young lady, you had better explain yourself.”
Because of course Kathryn got caught, too, her padd clattering as it hit the floor, her childhood equations an attempt to determine quantum efficiencies for every type of luminescence of matter she saw through the dome.
She chuckles now, pats the floor next to her, and he sits, her head finding its place on his shoulder, familiar weight in this room they’ve never been to together but both visited alone.
“They say we all become our parents.” He speaks in his own voice, words he feared until he could see the divergence of his life’s path from the Parises who came before him.
Kathryn speaks as herself, too. “I don’t think they meant it literally.”
“Nah.”
And they should talk — as themselves — about what it means to be home and about all the things they said they would do once they got back to Federation space. They should talk about … everything … from tomorrow’s briefings to the future beyond winding down Voyager’s first mission.
But, instead, he sits in a room where he was a child and she was a child, and he stares at Earth, Mars, the asteroid belt and beyond, gleaming stars and gliding ships.
He pretended to fly here.
She tried to make scientific discoveries here.
Now he’s flown farther than anyone else ever has and she has a stack of scientific discoveries that will keep headquarters busy for years.
And, yet, here they are in this place where they separately, silently, stole off to dream.
Together.

Send me an ask with character(s) and a prompt and I’ll do my best to dream up something you’ll like. ❤️

A Perfect Night
Fandom: Star Trek Voyager
The request itself: General crew fic of them having fun
Requested by: @hauntedmoonchaos
Warning: the stardate at the beginning does not follow typical Star Date rules, as those rules are inconsistent and not even the creators know how they work. So, I created my own rules. I’ll explain the rules in a later tumblr post.
————————————————
Star-date: 4512.2375, 20:45 Hrs.
Janeway and Chakotay walked through the corridors towards the mess hall. They had been told through the grapevine that Tom Paris was planning something “new and exciting” during the free period of the day.
Once they entered the mess hall they saw that the tables had been moved to the back of the room to make space for the rows of chairs facing a large black box with a protruding static screen.
Nearly half of Voyager’s population was sitting in seats, nibbling Neelix’s homemade Popcorn substitute: Noxcorn (made with Nox kernels), and quietly discussing what they thought Tom was up to.
Janeway gave an amused glance to Chakotay when she spotted the TV. “How many rations do you think it took him to replicate that ancient thing!” The two chuckled and took their seats with some Noxcorn.
Eventually Tom entered the room and stood in front of the Tv to speak to the crew. “Hello everyone and welcome to Movie Night: 21st century style!” The room had mixed reactions of excitement and confusion.
Tom continued, “This is a 21st century device I found while searching through the StarFleet databases called a DeViD!” He held up a shiny, holographic disc with a hole in the center.
Seven, who was sat in the 2rd row next to Naomi Wildman, calmly raised her hand.
“Yes, Seven?” Tom asked, somewhat dropping the ringmaster esc facade.
“I believe that was actually called a D V D in the late 20th early 21st century.”
“A DVD!” Tom exclaimed, returning to his dramatic introduction. “Thank you Seven for informing us of the correct pronunciation! Now, ladies, gents, and all those in between, prepare yourselves for the thrilling adventures of the legendary hero: Indiana Jones!”
The room cheered despite most having no clue who that person was or why he was considered a “hero.” Tom placed the DVD into the slightly smaller black box plugged into the TV and pressed play before taking a seat next to B’Elanna and Harry in the front row.
————————————————
Around halfway through the movie Harry whispered “I see why you like this movie” to Tom. “My friends and I used to watch it back at the Academy. I don’t think I’ve seen it since I graduated.” He whispered back.
On screen, Indiana was fighting a Nazi on a plane as gas leaked steadily to a pile of explosives.
“Why is it always Germans or Russians in these movies?” B’Elanna commented quietly.
Seven leaned forward to softly answer. “In the 1980s, most American citizens were afraid of Fascists and Communists due to the first and second world wars and government propaganda.”
“She took the words straight out of my mouth.” Tom added, stunned.
“Samantha Wildman has tasked me with being Naomi’s tutor so when we return to Earth she will be on the same academic level as other children of her age. Typical School curriculum for Naomi’s age group starts 20th century history around 3rd quarter.”
On screen, the Nazi Indiana had previously been fighting was killed by a propeller of the plane, spraying clearly fake blood on the wing and cockpit.
This caused the crew to produce a collective “oof” (except for Tuvok and Seven of course) and Naomi slapped her hands above her eyes in fear.
Tom scratched the back of his neck. “I forgot about that part.. oops…” B’Elanna rolled her eyes at the dumbass sitting next to her.
————————————————
The movie was coming to a close with most of the audience on the edge of their seat, with the usual exceptions being Tuvok and Seven. Naomi had fallen asleep with her head rested on Samantha’s lap and her legs rested on Seven’s. Tom was glad about that, as he definitely did not forget about the approaching scene, and did not want to be held responsible for a child’s nightmares.
Indiana and Marion were hung up together. “Don’t look Marion, don’t look.” Indiana commanded of her.
Then the thing Tom had waited for happened. The melting face. Gasps, oofs, and groans of displeasure erupted behind and next to him. Even Seven made a face of disgust.
“That is so disgusting, and so cool.” B’Elanna remarked, clearly enjoying the movie far more than she thought she would.
————————————————
When the movie ended (mostly) everyone clapped and cheered. Each of them had a comment about the movie as they exited the mess hall and back to their quarters for bed.
“I loved that movie growing up. Part of the reason I became a fan of Archaeology.” Chakotay mentioned to Janeway, Samantha, Harry, and Seven, who carried a sleeping Naomi in her arms.
“I used to watch it with my family growing up. My sister and I used to go on adventures on the farm pretending to be Indiana Jones’ sisters..or something.” Janeway added, remembering her farm in Bloomington.
“I quite enjoyed it.” Seven piped up, somewhat surprising everyone.
“What did you enjoy about it, Seven?” Asked Janeway, moving closer to her blonde friend and colleague.
“I thought it was an interesting plot, and the effects were of high quality for the era it was created.”
Harry stopped walking. “Wait, how do you know so much about 80s movies all of the sudden? Does Naomi’s curriculum have a course on 20th century film or something?”
Seven blushed slightly “I may have done some…other…personal research as well…” she replied shyly
The rest were astounded but unanimous decided not to continue, as to not make Seven more embarrassed than she already was.
“What did you think Samantha?” Chakotay asked politely.
“Harrison Ford is hot.” She said simply. Janeway and Harry both nodded and agreed, leaving a taken aback Chakotay and a confused Seven.
“I assume filming in a desert climate can cause one to overheat but I assume that the film crew had waters nearby to prevent such an event from occurring.” Seven stated, misunderstanding completely.
“No, Seven, Samantha, Harry, and the Captain feel that the actor who plays Indiana Jones is physically attractive.” Chakotay explained.
“Oh. I see.” The group chuckled kindly.
————————————————
The rest of the walk back to the respective quarters was filled with a comfortable silence. A perfect way to end a perfect night.
————————————————
Post notes:
Noxcorn- Nox is of course latin for night or darkness, so imagine a bluish black popcorn that tastes only slightly different from our human popcorn.
“Samantha Wildman has tasked me with being Naomi’s tutor so when we return to Earth she will be on the same academic level as other children of her age.”- This just made sense to me, as I don’t think it’s explained if Naomi has a teacher on Voyager other than her Mother, Godfather, and Seven.
Janeway and Harry both nodded and agreed- Whatever a heterosexual is, Harry Kim ain’t it.

“  lay  back  down  right  now.  ” raffi @ 7
Tumblr media
in truth, she's trying to be sneaky. she's been on bedrest for a day and a half from injuries sustained on their latest away mission - she'd been trying to protect the team from the initial blast of an explosion and ended up with a nasty injury from shrapnel and debris. she's achieved her goal of protecting the others though - they'd escaped with only minor injuries. their target was dead - all in all, a mission well accomplished besides her own injuries.
with the enterprise in raffi's capable hands, seven had rested. for about an hour beyond her normal wake-up time. long enough for raffi to get onto the bridge and get involved in command. but seven has always been a restless creature of habit (instilled upon her from janeway, among other instincts). when she's not sleeping or regenerating, she must keep busy. and with a flood of reports she's been putting off, it seems like a perfect chance to catch up on the paperwork and briefings from their latest mission, as well as some reports from starfleet. she has a few subspace calls to make too, and wonders if she has the time before raffi is off shift.
Tumblr media
shit. caught.
she's only a few reports in when the door opens and raffi's voice commands her back to bed. seven frowns; she hasn't bothered to change out of her night clothes as she sits behind the desk in the captain's quarters; bandages still wrap around her middle and are visible when she tries to move. but it's no use - she's been caught absolutely red handed. she could be embarrassed, but seven is nothing if not determined and bold.
"i'm fine." seven insists with a huff, signing off on a padd and setting it aside before she dares meet raffi's gaze. "doc said nothing about not sitting up. not as if i'm on the bridge." she's annoyed at herself for not expecting raffi would come to check on her at the very least. seven leans back in the chair, but makes no other move to head back to bed.
"---i'm just catching up on paperwork. harmless paperwork."
