ever  since  the  moment  luciana  was  born  her  life  was  orchestrated  ,  almost  like  performance  art  . there wasn't a time she could remember when eyes weren't on her and her family .  her  parents  had  always  been  the  type  of  people  that  wanted  it  to  seem  as  though  they  had  the  picture  perfect  family  .  pristine  ,  almost  to  the  point  where  the  family  seemed  plastic  .  and  that's  just  how  they  wanted  it  to  seem  .  the  wealthy  and  elite  family  all  smiles  and  handshakes  .  all  fancy  parties  and  sucking  up  to  all  the  right  people  . all the people that could get them further into that life of wealth and fame .

  luciana  and  her  older  brother  were dragged  along  to  anything  and  everything  their  parents  could  get  them  into  .  a  way  to  show  the  world  they  had  something  they  didn't  . . .  that their family  had  everything  .  the  perfect  little  family  ,  the  riches  ,  the  fame  . . .  it  was  everything  the  money  and  fame  hungry  parents  wanted , even if it was anything but the truth .

a question , was  the  life  they  lead  really  all  that  perfect  or  great  ?  not  at  all  .  luciana  knew  at  a  young  age  how  dysfunctional  her  family  was  .  the  way  they  said  one  thing  to  the  world  but  everything  was  completely  opposite  or  different  inside  . . .  it  confused  her  .  the  constant  distrust  in  the  people  around  her  and  this  loneliness  she  had  never  been  able  to  let  go  of began to creep onto her until it swallowed her whole  . 

the  moment  she  was  able  to  be  put  in  front  of  a  camera  ,  luciana's  parents  made  sure  of  it  .  putting  her  in  the  hands  of  any  and  every  person  in  the  industry  .  no  real  safety  net  despite  having  her  so - called  mom - ager  there  to  protect  her  .  if  anything  ,  luci  felt  as  though  she  was  less  protected  when  her  mother  was  around  .  the  way  the  woman  would  throw  her  to  the  wolves  just  to  get  the  attention  she  desired  .  wanting  to  live  through  her  daughter  .  playing  puppet master  and  treating  her  own  child  as  if  she  was  a  little  doll  she  could  bend  and  control  anyway  she  wanted  to  .

when  the  cameras  weren't  on  the  family  ,  the  issues  came  in  swarms  .  luciana  watching  as  her  mother  abused  different  pills and alcohol  ,  her  brother  drowned  himself  in  anything  he  could  get  his  hands  on , trying to silence the noise of heated arguments  and  his  father  cheating  with  various  different  woman  . luciana seeing things she shouldn't but felt she had to hold onto and keep secret . they were  a  broken  family  behind  closed  doors  but  the  moment  they  had  eyes  on  them  ,  everyone  would  pretend  nothing  was  wrong  .  a  smile  forming  on  what  was  once  a  miserable  face  .

as  much  as  luci  doesn't  want  to  be  under  her  mothers  control  or  her  parents  . . .  she  is  .  unable  to  really  get  out  from  under  their  grasps  .  at  a  young  age  she  had  went  through  something  traumatic  .  no  help  in  the  way  she  was  thrown  to  the  wolves  and  that  began  the  spiraling  that  luci  began  to  go  through  .

a  little  reckless  in  her  behavior  ,  although  under  the  radar  .  then  again  ,  she'd  always  felt  like  she  could  be  screaming  for  help  in  front  of  the  people  in  her  life  and  no  one  would  see  or  hear  her  .  after  an  episode  that  was  too  catastrophic  to  ignore  ,  her  parents  sent  her  off  to  a  nature  retreat  . . .  a  way  to  be  calm  and  become  one  with  the  earth  .  although  ,  they  didn't  want  to  address  the  situation  of  not  only  what  their  daughter  had  been  through  and  the  secrets  she  held  onto  but  they  also  didn't  want  to  believe  that  there  could  be  something  actually  wrong  with  her  . or something she could actually be struggling with .  instead  sending  her  off  on  a  pointless  journey  that  didn't  take  away  all  the  hurt  and  pain  she  had  been  through  .

once  back  ,  she  was  thrown  back  into  her  work  .  back  to  playing  the  part  of  the  perfect  untouched  and  lovely  daughter  her  mother  wanted  her  to  be  .  back  to  being  the  little  doll  her  mother  wanted  to  control  .

Beithir | Scottish Folklore

Within the highlands of Scotland, there was once folklore of a type of great serpent called Beithir.

"Beithir, adder, serpent, thunderbolt, lightning, a destructive deity dwelling in caves, corries, and mountain fastnesses." Carmina Gadelica, Volume 2, by Alexander Carmicheal, [1900]

It was one of the fuath, making it very dangerous, and was so large that it could eat several horses or cattle in one meal.

It preferred to lurk in dark places, such as caves, and had a bite with venom.

"Beithir was a venomous and destructive creature, who lived in dark caves and corries in the mountains. " Highland Mythology by Watson, E. C. (1908)

It was not one specific creature by the name, but instead a species.

Some were said to be killed, such as the one of Islay. It was first tempted by barrels of meat which were hiding spikes to be swallowed, then it was finished off by cannon-fire.

“The big beast of Scanlastle in Islay was one of this kind. It devoured seven horses on its way to Loch-in-daal. A ship was lying at anchor in the loch at the time, and a line of barrels filled with deadly spikes, and with pieces of flesh laid upon them, was placed from the shore to the ship. Tempted by the flesh, the ‘ loathly worm ‘ made its way out on the barrels and was killed by the spikes and cannon.” Superstitions of the Highlands & Islands of Scotland by John Gregorson Campbell (1900)

There is one other tale in Popular Tales of the West Highlands by J. F. Campbell [1890], that mentions the Beithir. In this story, a boy is cursed by a shirt made of the skin of a Beithir.

The daughter of a wise woman falls in love with the boy, and agrees to several sacrifices in order to save him. So, the mother puts the boy into a cauldron with specific herbs, and the beithir transforms from a shirt, back into a serpant, and attacks the girl(as was expected). The girl cuts the beithir off (and her breast with it) and so the boy is freed from the curse.

They marry, she get’s a golden breast, then they go on adventures together.

Old Macdonald, travelling tinker, told me a long story, of which one scene represented an incantation more vividly to me than anything I have ever read or heard. “There was a king and a knight, as there was and will be, and as grows the fir tree, some of it crooked and some of it straight, and he was a king of Eirinn,” said the old tinker, and then came a wicked stepmother, who was incited to evil by a wicked henwife. The son of the first queen was at school with twelve comrades, and they used to play at shinny every day with silver shinnies and a golden ball. The henwife, for certain curious rewards, gave the stepdame a magic shirt, and she sent it to her step-son, ” Sheen Billy,” and persuaded him to put it on ; he refused at first, but complied at last, and the shirt was a beithir (great snake) about his neck. Then he was enchanted and under spells, and all manner of adventures followed but at last he came to the house of a wise woman who had a beautiful daughter, who fell in love with the enchanted prince, and said she must and would have him. “It will cost thee much sorrow,” said the mother. “I care not,” said the girl, “I must have him.” “It will cost thee thy hair.” “I care not.” “It will cost thee thy right breast.” “I care not if it should cost me my life,” said the girl. And the old woman agreed to help her to her will. A caldron was prepared and filled with plants and the king’s son was put into it stripped to the magic shirt, and the girl was stripped to the waist. And the mother stood by with a great knife, which she gave to her daughter. Then the king’s son was put down in the caldron, and the great serpent, which appeared to be a shirt about his neck, changed into its own form, and sprang on the girl and fastened on her; and she cut away the hold, and the king’s son was freed from the spells. Then they were married, and a golden breast was made for the lady. And then they went through more adventures, which I do not well remember, and which the old tinker’s son vainly strove to repeat in August, 1860, for he is far behind his father in the telling of old Highland tales. Okay so it appears like they're adapting the 2006 series the Immortal Iron Fist for season 3 and that really excites me. It was the first Iron Fist series I read and I love it. Not only does it introduce grumpy kung fu cowboy grandpa Orson Randall, but also the other champions and the Seven Capital Cities of Heaven, and Danny's former flame Sparrow who is another blind martial artist they can add to the MCU. But most of all, it's a Matt Fraction series! The fact that they're adapting a Matt Fraction series brings me such joy. (Now they need to adapt his Hawkeye series and I would leap for joy)

Character Description

Okays, so this is linked here from my post here about my MC regarding her relationships with the Obey Me Characters. The original prompt is here. This post is a more detailed description of Eise as a character...

Eise's characteristics:

She has a background in singing, dance and the Circus, so highly coordinated, acrobatic, flexible and athletic. Also used to model but doesn't bring that up with the characters, it's not a big deal to her. Intellectual, she does have a degree but never did anything with it, enjoys a reckless life of freedom instead. Though she still chooses to study ancient history, mythology, and the occult as a hobby. Loves a good book centered in those themes, and a sucker for the classics. She is very capable of acting proper and well mannered, and is quite spectacular at it really. It surprises the hell out of others when they witness it. She just prefers to enjoy acting like an idiot with little regard for consequences much of the time instead.

She's reckless, wild, and spontaneous... A very 'why not?' attitude. Extrovert, thrives in being active and around others, though does enjoy her much needed alone time as well. She's clever, sassy, and mischievous... Likes to keep people guessing despite initially coming off as open book. Has a male cat that she's raised who is much like her, he's her fur baby for sure.

She's extremely creative so arts and crafts galore: clothing design, jewelery making, painting, drawing, decorating, sculpting, writing, music--you name it, she dabbles in it! Humor ranging from Idiotic to Dark. Swears like a sailor, despite a wide vocabulary, so her language is quite the colorful blend of both. Night owl, extremely grumpy in the mornings. Caffine is a must. Alternative Haphazard punk style, favors purposely destroyed clothing, patchwork and buttons. Jack-of-all-trades. Quite the handyman.

Alpha type personality. Hot temper when provoked, with a tendency to get into fights. Doesn't start them usually but God damnit she sure as hell is gonna finish it. Relentless when driven. Extremely caring and protective of anyone she truely cares about, but couldn't give two shits if she doesn't. Comfortable with her body due to having a performer background, so shes not really shy at all, and sometimes uses that to her advantage for shits and giggles.

Eise's physical appearance:

I've included a few early sketches of mine of Eise. The first image is a front and back of her typical casual wear. I included the second image of her in beach wear I did once upon a time for a better sense of her tattoos. The third image is what I dreamed up for formal wear for her.

I went ahead and wrote out the description as well for a better sense of detail in case your brain is like mine, it's after the images. But you can feel free to scroll past the text.

Female with Androgynous tendencies. Light blue hair, usually kept up in a wildly messy bun with long bangs. Light blue eyes, usually rocking black wing-tip eyeliner and dark blue and black eye shadow. Red lipstick usually, tho occasionally nude, blue or black. Tall, 5'10. Pale complexion. Slim muscular build.

Standard Clothes: red bandana around the neck, black choker necklace and long gold chain with a pocket watch on the end. Ragedy black and blue striped crop tank top, high waisted blue denim Daisy dukes. Long brown leather belt. Thigh high black and blue striped socks attached to garters, thigh high charcoal combat boots, red leg warmers over the top. Hazard Yellow zip up hoodie covered in patches, usually hanging off the shoulders with rolled up sleeves. Various bracelets. And silver rings on each finger except ring fingers. Nose ring, tongue ring, nipple rings, triple pierced ears on both sides with another two on the upper right ear and an industrial bar on the upper left ear.

Tattoos: Sun on the right shoulder with clouds underneath, then rain, grass, then red flowers over green leaves and vines down the rest of the arm, compass rose on that elbow. "Outsider" across the chest. An small ankh over her sternum. Two X's under left eye. "Always" with an infinity symbol on left collarbone. A twisted armband around the top of the arm below the shoulder. "Darkside" on the inside of the left bicep. Alchemaic symbol for blood and a solid black triangle on the inner left Forearm. Green serpent on the left hip and side extending onto her lower back, apple by its mouth, three gold stars above it and "Fallen" in red beside the serpant along the spine. Left leg is an incomplete sleeve ranging from mid thigh to mid calf. The top is water with a starfish above the knee and a red and a blue fish with bubbles on the side below the hip. Pearl strand wrapped around the knee, teal scales as the backdrop. The calf is 9 bands, each with simple imagery depicting the 9 circles if hell. A crescent moon above the outside of the ankle. Down the back of the right calf are 7 small circles, the symbols from obey me of the Seven deadly sins, with a small pair of wings beneath them, just above the heel. The shadow hunter sigil on the top of the left foot.

After having successfully crossed the serpants pass, and stopped the drill from entering the city, the gaang was finally in the walls of Ba Sing Se. However trying to contact the king was going to take much much longer than they hoped for.

With Ju Dee and the Dai Lee stunting both the search for Appa and the meeting with the earth king, the group was rather irritated to say the least. Let alone the lack of response to the flyers. Zuko decided to do some... investigation of his own. Sneaking out at night to follow the Dai Lee, which was surprisingly easy to do, they're not very observant of their surroundings; at least not enough to notice Zuko in his full blue spirit get up following them.

He managed to follow them for three nights, putting up posters with the group during the day while following the agents once the sun went down. On the third night he followed them to a lake, slipping into the tunnel after them he continued to go unnoticed.

"The bison-" he heard one of the agents say from down a hall, but not all of the conversation was audible until the last bit "-seven sixteen" a room number perhaps?

He managed to scale the tunnels undiscovered, which was amusing because the Dai Lee pride themselves on seeing everything. Nonetheless he managed to make it to the room and open it to find Appa.

Slipping in and shutting the door Appa let out an angry groan "shh, shh, Appa, its just me" he said as he removed his mask, watching the sky bison calm down upon seeing his companion. Zuko moved closer and spotted several thorns stuck in Appa's legs "oh, Appa," he said in a hushed whisper.

"Okay buddy, I'm gonna get you out of here but first I need to get these thorns out," he brushed the fur away from the thorn with one hand while grasping it with the other "this is going to hurt, but trust me you'll feel better afterwards" after that he pulled out each thorn one by one, gently brushing the fur and placing small kisses where the thorn was to try and comfort his long lost friend.

Once done with the thorns he cut the chains and shackles off. "Alright, lets get out of here"

"I figured I'd find you here" Zuko spun around to see his Uncle in the doorway "blue spirit huh?"

"Uncle I-"

"No need to explain, lets hurry and get Appa and ourselves out of here" and with that they got ontop of the bison, who had no saddle so it was difficult holding on.

Zuko didnt realize he had been out all night until they made it out of the lake and were met with the bright light of day. They only flew around for a bit but eventually ran into the rest of the group, with Appa taking a nice bite of Long Feng's leg just before the Dai Lee fled.

"Appa!" Aang shouted as he Katara, Sokka and Toph ran to hug their found friend.

Zuko leaned down and placed a quick kiss to the top of Aang's head, earning him an accidental headbutt which caused him to fall off the bison and slam onto he ground with a good "Oof!"

"Oh my gods! Zuko! I'm sorry!" Aang went to help Zuko up but when he grabbed Zuko's arm he was pulled down into a tight hug "hey!"

Zuko laughed and the two of them stood up "sorry I went missing last night-"

"And the two nights before that" Katara playfully glared at him

"Yeah, that too, I was tracking the Dai Lee, I'm less likely to be detected when I'm alone" he shrugged "but I guess Uncle is even less noticeable than the Dai Lee and me because he managed to follow me without either of us noticing him so"

Iroh simply laughed from the back of Appa as the group climbed on. "Now that we have Appa, why don't we go talk to the earth king?" Iroh suggested

"Yeah! I mean hey, we found Appa and escaped the dai Lee! We're on a roll!"

"A good hour after weeks of travel is not 'on a roll' Sokka" Katara shot him a tired glare.

"It might not be on a roll but it could be if we keep going" Zuko added "besides we have to get the invasion plan to the king, that was the main reason for coming here in the first place"

"Zuko and Sokka are right, we should at least try"

With the majority vote being for seeing the earth king the Katara caved and they went to the king, forcefully smashing his fancy door down and everything.

Of course Long Feng was there but it didn't take long to convince the king about what was happening. Revealing the bite mark on Long Feng's leg, taking them to the destroyed lake Laogai, and then finally the defeated fire nation drill outside the wall.

The King had Long Feng arrested and took the group back to the palace where they found out that there were letters kept from them by the Dai Lee under orders from Long Feng.

A letter from Toph's mother, An intelligence letter for Sokka and Katara from their dad's fleet, and a letter for Aang from a guru at the eastern air temples.

"I hate to say it, but we should split up," Sokka said while looking at the letters "but one of us should stay behind and help the ki-"

"I'll stay behind" Zuko suggested which got him confused looks "i mean you all got letters calling you to different places right? Uncle and I didnt get any,"

"Not that we'd expected any, being fugitives from our nation" Iroh added with a hearty chuckle

"Right, so we can just stay back and watch over things while you guys go"

"Zuko, you, are the best... flameo... ever!" Sokka said before hugging Zuko, who only pried him off

"Slow down there buddy. But you're right, I am."

With the trio loading up Appa with supplies Zuko pulled Aang to the side first chance he could, taking hold of his left hand "Aang, before you go, incase I dont see you for a longer time than we could both hope for... I have something I want to tell you... I-" I love you. I dont want you to go. I'm sorry for everything. Please don't leave me. He wanted to say all of those things but instead Sokka found them and proceeded to give Aang a noogie, regardless of the fact that he was bald. Letting out a sigh.

"Sorry, Gotta go, I'll see you soon, okay?" And with that Aang pulled Zuko down to place a kiss on his cheek but Zuko turned his head just in time to plant that kiss on the airbenders lips. He held him there with his hand on the back of his neck, knowing full well that they just became a spectacal to the others around them. But not really caring when Aang immediately returned the kiss with hands on either side of his neck.

Of course they pulled back only seconds later, with Zuko resting their foreheads together "come back to me, promise?"

Aang let out a laugh "you doubt me?" He moved Zuko's hand from the back of his neck and placed a quick kiss to his knuckles "I'll make it back to you, I promise"

"Alright! Alright! Enough with the oogies! Let's get the show on the road!" Sokka complained loudly, breaking the moment and making the pair separate with flushed cheeks before they parted ways.

Watching the bison fly away Zuko felt a hand on his shoulder. Expecting his uncle he was surprised to find the king himself was the owner of said hand "while I know you two are soulmates, perhaps save the snogging for private times? Okay?"

Zuko covered his face and let out a groan "right, right sorry"

"Im only teasing, that was one romantic send off" the king let out a short laugh before turning to head back inside "come now, we should prepare for the Kyoshi warriors"

Zuko looked up at the sky one last time, the bison now out of sight, Aang now too far for him to see. He let out a sigh and turned to follow the king. He knows Aang can handle nearly anything, so why does he have this heavy sense of dread washing over him?

Something wasn't right, but he could figure out what.

The aim of technical preparation is to create and improve sports skills. Each sports skill has a given way of solving a motor task (contents of a sports skill) in accordance with the rules of a given sport, biomechanical rules and locomotive possibilities of the athlete which are referred to as technique. Specific individual adjustment of technique by an athlete is referred to as style.

Tactical skills are understood as certain procedures or models of competition situations solutions acquired by training.

tactics further analyzes and shows possible solutions of individual competition situations (conflicting situations)

focuses on practical implementation of these situations within given plan (strategy)

tactics (individual, group, team, offensive, defensive)

Implementing tactical actions is carried out on the following axis:

perception and analysis (situation occurence – situation recognition – situation analysis)

mental solution (solution proposal – soluction selection)

movement solution (solution execution, feedback)

Tactics is being solved within competition situations which are characterized by conditions.

We can differentiate between two types of conditions:

fixed (sports ground, sports area, equipment etc.)

changing (referee, audience, route, ball bounce etc.)

Rules of the Game:

Only female athletes compete in Levels 1–4. Levels A, B, C, and Group are mixed gender.

Athletes must compete on the same level in all chosen individual events. (Either A, B, C, 1, 2, 3 or 4.)

Athletes may specialize by competing in one or more events at their chosen level. Gymnasts who do all four events at a level are considered All-Around. (i.e., Specialist: Level I Hoop and Ball; All-Around: Level I Rope, Hoop, Ball, and Ribbon)

A gymnast may perform in one or two group routines in addition to individual routines, or perform just in group routines (no individual).

The video of the compulsory routines is the official version. If a difference exists between the video and the written text, the video must be followed. For group routines, the video is the only version of the choreography

Compulsory routines may be reversed in their entirety (mirror image).

Olympic order for rhythmic gymnastics is rope, hoop, ball, clubs, ribbon.

Unified Sports Rhythmic Gymnastics Events

All rules and regulations apply equally to athletes and partners.

Unified competition is allowed in both Pairs and Group events.

In Unified Pairs events, the athlete and unified partner can either perform together as a duet or separately. One panel of judges will evaluate the athlete’s routine and one panel will evaluate the unified partner’s routine. The scores are added together for a unified team score.

In the Group events, there must be an equal number of athletes and partners in each group. Modifications

Visually Impaired Athletes – Coaches must notify the meet director and judges of the athlete’s visual impairment before the competition and prior to each routine. In order to aid the athletes, the following types of assistance are permissible for all levels of competition without deduction:

Audible cues, such as clapping, may be used in all routines.

Music may be played at any close point outside of the mat, or the coach may carry the music source around the perimeter of the mat.

Hearing Impaired Athletes – Coaches must notify the meet director and judges of the athlete’s hearing impairment before the competition and prior to each routine.

The athlete may receive a visual aid from the coach to begin her routine as the music starts. Awarding of Medals

Medals (or ribbons) are awarded for each event and for All-Around.

Gymnasts may receive a maximum of seven awards: one for each of the four events, one for All Around and two for group.

Gymnasts who compete Group only may receive a maximum of two awards: one for each group routine

Rope specifications

Material: The rope may be of hemp or synthetic material, provided that it possesses the identical qualities of lightness and suppleness as rope made of hemp.

Length: The length should be proportionate to the size of the gymnast.

Ends: Handles of any kind are not allowed, but one or two knots are permitted at each end. At the ends (to the exclusion of all other parts of the rope), a maximum of 10 centimeters may be covered by an anti-slip material, either colored or neutral.

Shape: The rope may be either of a uniform diameter or be progressively thicker in the center, provided that this thickness is of the same material as the rope.

Color: The rope may be any color or combinations of colors.

Hoop specifications

Material: The hoop may be of wood or plastic, provided that the latter retains its shape during movement. Foreign particles should be removed from inside the hoop before use.

Diameter: The interior diameter of the hoop should be from 60-90 centimeters.

Weight: A minimum of 150-300 grams and up.

Shape: The cross-section of the hoop may be in several different shapes: circular, square, rectangular, oval, etc. The hoop may be smooth or ridged.

Color: The hoop may be any color or combination of colors. The hoop may be partially or fully covered with tape to add colors.

Ball specifications

Material: The ball may be made of rubber or synthetic material (pliable plastic), provided that the latter possesses the same elasticity as rubber.

Diameter: 14-20 centimeters.

Color: The ball may be of any color.

Clubs specifications

Material: the clubs may be made of wood or synthetic material.

Length: 25-50 centimeters from one end to the other.

Shape: A shape similar to that of a bottle. The wider part is called the body. The narrow part, the neck, ends in a small sphere, the head.

Color: The clubs may be of a neutral color or may be colored (all or partially) with one or several colors. 

Ribbon specifications

  Stick

Material: wood, bamboo, plastic, fiberglass.

Diameter: a maximum of 1 centimeter at its widest part.

Shape: cylindrical or conical, or a combination of the two shapes.

Length: 45-60 centimeters, including the ring, which permits the fastening of the ribbon to the stick. The bottom end of the stick may be covered by an adhesive, anti-slip tape or may have a rubber handle a maximum length of 10 centimeters at the level of the grip. The top of the stick where the ribbon will be attached may consist of:

A supple strap (string or nylon) held in place by a nylon thread wound around the stick for a maximum of 5 centimeters.

A metal ring fixed directly onto the stick.

A metal ring (vertical, horizontal or oblique) fixed to the stick by two metal pins held in place

by nylon or metallic thread wound around the stick for a maximum of 5 centimeters.

A metal ring (fixed, mobile or pivoting) or a supple strap fixed to a metal tip of no more than 3 centimeters.

A metal ring fixed by two metal pins held by a metal tip of 3 centimeters long, which is lengthened by nylon or metallic thread wound around the stick, adding up to a maximum length of 5 centimeters.

Color: any choice. Ribbon

Material: satin or similar non-starched material.

Color: any choice of a single color, two colors or multicolored. Width: 4-6 centimeters.

Length: From one end to the other, the finished length of the ribbon should be a minimum of 1 meter to a maximum of 6 meters (for Levels A, B), a minimum of 2 meters to a maximum of 6 meters (for Level C) and a minimum of 3 meters to a maximum of 6 meters (for Levels 1-4). This part must be in one piece.

The end which is attached to the stick is doubled for a maximum length of 1 meter. This is stitched down both sides. At the top, a very thin reinforcement or rows of machine stitching for a maximum of 5 centimeters is authorized. This extremity may end in a strap, or have an eyelet (a small hole, edged with buttonhole stitch or metal circle), to permit attaching the ribbon.

The ribbon is fixed to the stick by means of a supple attachment, such as thread, nylon cord, or a series of articulated rings.

The length of this attachment is a maximum of 7 centimeters (not counting the strap or metal ring at the end of the stick where it will be fastened).

Floor

13 meters by 13 meters with a security zone of 1 meter around. A carpeted area may be used or a floor that is neither too tacky nor slippery.

The ceiling height does not need to be 8 meters (26’ 3”), but should be fairly high.

How to Officiate the Sport:

Coaches - gives instructions to athletes, makes sure that they are on a good condition, give support and constructive criticism to the athletes.

Referee - assess penalties, explain and enforces the rules

Head Judge - does the final decision

Line Judges - positioned at opposite corners of the competition floor to record out-of-bounds violations

Timers - records and monitors the time of the performance

Analysis:

Hoop Gymnasts

Russia - She really displayed some great exhibitions with her hoops, she exudes overflowing confidence. Her leaps and turns are very precise and controlled, she moves with grace yet defined actions.

Azerbaijan - Displayed new and unique stunts and tricks, she moves one with her hoops. A little mistake during the start but quickly composes herself and displayed a great performance. Her music really suited her movements and very timing with the beats.

Russia - Amazing display of spot on flexibility, she uses her hoop very well. Her performance could really move the audience. You could hardly tell that the hoop is separate from her body as it slows so smoothly together like it is one.

Belarus - Her costume is very chic and stylish, her moves are very smooth. She handles the hoop as if it is a part of her body. However I can’t tell that her moves were unique or apart from the other performers.

France - The costume is really eye catching and cute, I could tell she is not as flexible like the others. There were some mishandling of the hoop, she did however perform with grace. She finished great and really showed exquisite leaps.

Belarus - Her costume is very colorful and chic, her turning leaps are very spot on. She displays amazing flexibility, however there are small lapses in her performance. Her music somewhat made it hard for her to connect her movements with the beats.

Espanya - Her music is appropriately displayed through her performance, there are also lapses in her performance. She displayed turns and loops that are uniquely exhibited with the use of her hoops.

Korea - Her costume is very attractive and dashing, her movements are very smooth and graceful. She uses her hoop well, and her leaps are spot on. She displays her flexibility in a different way.

Ukraine - She displayed great control and precision. She is very flexible and handles her hoop smoothly. Her leaps are very powerful and energetic, her use of lively music was very great.

Bulgaria - Her hoop handling is very precise and graceful at the same time. She is very flexible, displays powerful movements. You couldn’t see a hint of hesitation, she ended her performance amazingly.

Ball Gymnasts

Russia - Her ball handling is amazing and without fail. She handles the ball with grace and elegance. Her flexibility is great, she finished her performance strong.

Azerbaijan - Her performance shows speed yet the way she handles the ball is very smooth. Her tricks are very amazing, committed minor mistakes in the middle. Nevertheless a great performer.

Russia - Her costume is very chic and eye catching. Her leg raises really show her flexibility and her ball handling is on point. She moves around the platform with grace and elegance and she finished her performance strong.

Belarus - Her costume is so stylish and snazzy, her music is upbeat which was shown through her performance. You could see speed yet smooth all handling. Her bends really show so much of her flexibility.

France - the color of her costume scream elegance, she used a dynamic music which is clearly displayed through her performance. She has great elevation with her throws, she also displays her amazing flexibility. Although there are also lapses in her performance.

Belarus - Her ball handling is precise, she also shows her flexibility through different stunts. Her confidence really shows all through out her performance.

Espanya - A stylish blue costume, a great display of flexibility. Her music choice is appropriate for her performance. Her dance could really move audience, She has great ball handling.

Korea - She exudes confidence, her leg raises are very precise. Her gracefulness is very evident as she moves with clarity. Her ball handling is great and displayed amazing stunts.

Ukraine - Her costume is a little off for me however her movements really synchronized with her movements. Her ball handling is very smooth and clean, she displays great flexibility. She performed difficult pivots yet didn’t make a single mistake.

Bulgaria - She performs with speed in line with the beat of her music. Her stunts are unique and very precise. A little trouble in handling the ball, but continues performing greatly and ending it with power.

Club Gymnasts

Russia - Her music is too fast for her movements. I don’t see the synchronization of her movement with her music. She did however exude confidence, and has great club handling but a slight problem with her control.

Azerbaijan - Her costume is chic, she displays great control. She displays her flexibility  amazingly and handles her clubs with rhythm.

Russia - Her flexibility is shown in accordance with her body control. Her music choice is somewhat off with her movements. She shows mastery in handling her clubs and she ended strong.

Belarus - Her movements are unique and graceful. Her flexibility is on point and she displays great mastery in handling her clubs. Her chosen music is very solemn and is appropriate with her movements.

France - Her performance doesn’t coincide with her music. She mistakenly dropped her clubs and was a little hesitant with her movements after. She did however ended amazingly.

Belarus - She has great club handling, she uses her platform well. Had trouble in handling her clubs, her performance was not the best I’ve seen so far as she had too many errors.

Espanya - Her music is very lively coinciding with her actions. She shows speed all through out her performance. Has great synchronization and displays amazing stunts. Her flexibility is very amazing and was displayed well.

Korea - Her costume is very stylish and beautiful, she somehow made errors in handling her clubs. Her performance had lapses and lacks effort to me. She did however ended amazingly.

Ukraine - Her club handling is on point, her music coincide with her performance. She displayed speed all throughout without losing focus and grace. Her flexibility was amazing and she ended her performance astonishingly.

Bulgaria - Her costume is very bright and attractive. She shows mastery in handling her clubs, there was no visible hesitation during her stunts. Her music is somewhat off from her performance but nevertheless a great over all performance.

Ribbon Gymnasts

Russia - Clean movements but I am not very fascinated with her ribbon handling. She did however displayed her flexibility well. She also has great control and balance. An over all great performance.

Azerbaijan - A very festive and stylish costume at the same time. She displays great elevation during her leaps. Her ribbon handling is very fascinating to watch and it’s as if the ribbon is floating and moving on its own. Her speed is incredible which really highlighted the movements of the ribbon. Her finishing performance was splendid.

Russia - Her ribbon handling is great, it really grabs an audience’s attention. I could however say there us a lack of speed in the ribbon movements. But over all a performance that’s shows elegance.

Belarus - She performs with speed especially in handling the ribbon. She displays great control and her performance was very fascinating especially with how the ribbons move. She used the space very well to her advantage.

France - Her ribbon handling is great but not the best I’ve seen so far. She did display however unique stunts and moves. Committed some errors along the way but managed to end her performance well.

Belarus - Her costume is so attractive and festive, Her ribbon handling is amazing especially with her speed. She had minor mistakes but she was able to display a great performance. She didn’t disappoint as her performance was over all splendid.

Espanya - Her flexibility mixed with her ribbon handling was superb. Her music choice was amazing and really fitted well with her performance. She did however used too much time in performing and ended a little badly.

Korea - Her costume is stylish and very bright, she shows mastery in handling her ribbon. Her speed is also enough to display the ribbon amazingly. Her flexibility matched well with how she handles her ribbons. Her execution of the moves are spot on.

Ukraine - Her costume is unique, and her ribbon handling really shows great mastery. Her speed in handling the ribbon is exceptional. Shows great precision and clearly enjoys her own performance. And she ended amazingly with overflowing confidence.

Bulgaria - Her costume is not the only thing festive but it also greatly matches her chosen music. Her choreography is amazing especially with her ribbon handling that shows speed. Her energy not faltering even for a second and really ended her performance well.

Xemnas - Lernaean Hydra - an ancient, nameless water beast.  More heads than any other dragon - when one is cut off, two more grow back in its place.  Had poisonous breath so powerful that even its tracks were deadly.  The Hydra of Lerna was killed by Hercules as the second of his Twelve Labors.

Xigbar - St. George’s Dragon - An ancient British legend tells the story of a flying, fire-breathing dragon who lived in a lake near a village called Silene.  To keep the dragon from killing everyone, they fed it sheep and sacrificed young maidens.  The king’s daughter was to be sacrificed to it when St. George rode upon his horse and pierced the dragon with his lance.

Xaldin - Oriental Dragon - Found in folklore and mythology all over East Asia.  Unlike the European dragons, which were known for violence and evil deeds, Oriental dragons were known to be guardians and protectors of heaven.  They were also said to be protectors of the Earth’s elements and weather, such as the wind and rain.

Vexen - Classic Western Dragon - four legs and a pair of wings, which makes them different form any other kind of vertebrate. In older illustrations from the Middle Ages, most resembled winged lizards with talons and serpentine tails.

Lexaeus - Wyvern - The largest dragon species.  Spends most of it’s time flying and skywriting with smoke.  Around 50 feet long and 18-20 feet high.  They commonly eat elephants or other large African mammals and make nests on crags. They have two legs and a barbed tail.

Zexion - Cockatrice - a pseudo dragon thought to be a relative of the dragon and phoenix.  A heavy appetite and poisonous venom, about 3 feet long and 1-2 feet high.  They build nests in pine trees and sometimes in ships if the ships are confused with trees.

Saix - Welsh Red Dragon - The red dragon is extremely important to the Welsh people and history records mention of red dragons as early as 830 AD in a legend concerning two dragons engaged in battle beneath a hill. The two dragons were tricked and buried deep underground so their screams of war would not disrupt the kingdom.

Axel - Firedrake - From German and Norse mythology, the firedrake is usually found in a dave, guarding it’s treasure.  The firedrake is the dragon that is defeated in the end of the epic poem, Beowulf, and Smaug, the famous dragon in The Hobbit.

Demyx - Golden Dragon - found in tales across cultures, from Greek to Norse mythology. Have long tails and massive wings, as well as two large metallic horns and whiskers around the mouth.  It smells of saffron and incense, and are said to be wise and friendly.

Luxord - African Dragon - usually not even recognized or thought of as dragons.  More on the line of large serpents or giant snakes seen several times throughout African culture.

Marluxia - Quetzalcoatl - a Mesoamerican deity whose name in the Nahuatl language means “feathered-serpant.” Related to the gods of the wind, of Venus, of the dawn, of merchants and of arts, crafts, and knowledge.

Larxene - Biblical Dragon - Dragons are mentioned in the Bible many times. The Book of Revelations 12:3 states ”And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.”  The dragon was cast out, “that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world.”

Roxas and Xion - Dragonnet - A small dragon that is rare, though not any less vicious than the others.  Very similar to a classic Western Dragon, different only in size.  They live and hunt in packs, have poisonous blood, and stay away from settled areas.  They prefer to live on cold mountaintops.

Balem Abrasax

Weaving my way through the diverse roles so articulately and beautifully played by Eddie Redmayne a classical thespian in modern flesh I stumbled upon his Oscar worthy performance Balem Abrasax. I had heard of such a performance before but at the time found myself too consumed in the roles in his career that showcased emotion above profit. My understanding being that the oscars are often given frivolously at the flash of a check bearing more than Seven numbers. Jupiter Ascending’s plot intrigued me and I continued past the featurettes and trailers. What drew me in most was the youthful face of Eddie redmayne’s character being betrayed by a soft sometimes raspy voice. A voice whose age far succeeded the owner’s appearance. I was correct in my pondering as I watched the film. His body seemingly in the early stages of aging washed of lines and silver hairs in a single bath. Reminiscent of the youthful powers of the red witch’s broach. This led me to the realization of hundreds of lifetimes playing god hundreds of lifetimes surrounded by those playing into the ego of an already inflated monarch. Hundreds of lifetimes to replay relive and regret the decisions made in the past. The cost of his youthful look almost too high for the average mortal but for him an equal trade. A ruler’s health is everything in the eye of his subject’s. A sick king is a sick kingdom. A mortal is still a mortal and his mind however plagued by remorse and regressed memories held on by a thread as evident from his outbursts. A child never maturing with the responsibilities of a God, my heart fluttered at the story of his cruel upbringing and his misled ideaology that profit raised mere men to the level of immortals. No one deserves the unfortunately misguided hand of wrath outstretched by him. He did not deserve the self loathing the solitude and serpant like snickers from his own siblings. Your heart turns cruel with no one to warm it. And although he brought an end to many undeserving I feel his possible fiery end was unjust. Repeating a cycle so engrained in his mind and soul he felt his world would collapse if it broke...This leads me and many others to lend their hearts and writing skills to Lord Balem, in an attempt to rewrite the script and soften his stone heart. Join me and let me show you how I may soften the soul of a cruel king.
