The Seven Wonders of the World refer to a group of ancient architectural marvels and creations that were considered to be the greatest masterpieces of human engineering and design in the ancient world. There are two sets of seven wonders - the ancient wonders and the modern wonders.

The article informs that there was an update to the original seven wonders of the world in 2007. It was a long update process - a Swiss foundation started the campaign in 2000; the final list was compiled seven years later (in 2007). It appears that people around the world may have provided input into the need for an update. Or was it input for the development of the final list? The author could have made this clearer.
