you never used to believe in the idea of "fate" but if any day was going to prove you wrong, it was today.
the stars had (in the absolute worst way possible) lined up in a way that made even you question the irony of it all. not only were you late to work today, you had run straight over a puddle on the walk to work: ruining your shoes, soaking your socks, and staining your skirt. then at work, you somehow managed to delete the entire file that you had spent two painstakingly long hours trying to format, only for your mouse to slip and click 'delete file' instead of 'save file'. and the icing on the cake, you realized that you hadn't remembered to grab anything to eat for lunch on the way out of the door this morning. all in all, this all added up to result in a very sad, sad day.
you couldn't believe your luck (or lack of it).
but finally, you reached the end of your workday. softly sighing, you logged out of your computer, and began packing up your stuff before noticing your phone screen light up with a text notification.
baby jun 🐱:
are you getting off work now ?
i got off work early today ! i'll meet you outside your office and we can walk home together (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)and i got you a surprise !
your eyes widened as you read the message on your phone, a small glimmer of delight breaking through the cloud of misfortune that had hung over your day. you never knew how, but your boyfriend somehow was always the one person who seemed to have a knack for turning your gloomy days around.
a smile crept onto your face as you quickly replied:
"yes, just finished! i'll meet you outside baby !
you packed up your belongings in a hurry, eager to escape the your desk and the day that seemed determined to test your patience at every turn. as you walked out of the office building, you couldn't help but your mood slowly get lighter.
sure enough, as you emerged from the building, you spotted junhui waiting for you with a bright smile. he held out a cardboard boxhis right hand, the aroma wafting through the air as you got closer, letting you know it was your favorite earl grey pastries from a bakery you often frequented across the street.
taking light steps up to meet him, you opened your arms to wrap around his shoulders, resting your face in the nook of his neck, feeling his arms wrap around your body as he placed a soft kiss on the side of your head.
"tough day?" he asked, sympathy in his eyes as he began to pat your back in a soothing manner.
you chuckled, realizing how understated that question was, before pulling back to look him in the eyes. "you have no idea. it's like the entire universe decided to play a prank on me today."
"well, consider this the universe's way of making it up to you," he replied, before turning and linking his free hand with yours. "let's walk home together, and i promise by the time we get there, i'll make sure you'll forget all about your terrible day."
as the two of you strolled together, the weight of the day began to lift. junhui's company, your shared laughter, and the simple joy of having someone to lean on turned your day's misfortunes into distant memories. you couldn't help but marvel at the serendipity of it all, the way fate seemed to weave its magic in the most unexpected moments.
perhaps, you thought, there was something to this idea of fate after all. because somehow, fate had brought this ray of warm sunlight in your life, and you couldn't be more grateful for the stars aligning in the best and most unexpected way.

wonwoo checks his phone. the wallpaper with a picture of you while playing with a random cat on a street lights up and he glances at time. you should have called him 10 minutes ago, that’s how he knows something wrong. he’s about to dial your number when your contact name comes up, another picture of you that he loves adoring the screen: when you were imitating hoshi’s double eyelid picture.
he picked up and there was silence. when you let out a slow but shaky exhale, he already knew. his heart clenched.
“um, hi” you said weakly, voice trembling “i… uh…”
you sniffled and wonwoo immediately got up, looking for his car keys.
“i didn’t pass…” a weak murmur left your mouth, barely audible. wonwoo bit his lip; he knew how much you were stressing out and how important the exam was to you.
“hey, it’s alright. i’m sure you did your best” he reassured, his deep voice warm like hot milk with honey on a chilly day.
“well, yeah but–“ your voice cracked, followed by a sharp sob. oh how he hated to hear that sound “but i didn’t… i scored very little points and i feel like a dumb idiot who can’t even–“
“stop it, don’t say it. you’re not dumb and you’re definitely not an idiot. life is, sadly, about failures and mistakes. you failed this time but you’ll do better next time, hm?” wonwoo comforted you, the sound of your uneven breathing on the other side of the phone.
“you’re right… but still…” your voice was small. he could imagine your teary eyes, wet cheeks and the way your hands were probably trembling and picking on your skin. and he didn’t like that one bit “others…”
“with all due respect, i don’t really care about others. you can always retake the test, no?” he asked. another sniff. and probably a nod.
“yup” you hummed, letting out another sigh. this one was more heavy but wonwoo liked this one better – it meant you probably started calming down.
“i’m picking you up and we’re going to eat something, how does that sound?” he asked gently. you were supposed to celebrate but a failure doesn’t mean you can’t treat yourself good.
“i… i’d like that” you said and finally he could head you smile “can we eat some pasta though?”
“absolutely. hey, y/n?” wonwoo’s voice softened, even though you thought that was impossible
“yes?”
“i’m proud of you. i mean it” as soon as he said that, he heard a breathy chuckle “i love you. will meet you in ten minutes, okay?”
“okay. i love you too, nonu” you smiled wildly to his delight.

you come home a bit later than usual, the smell of something delicious wafting in the air, welcoming you as you step inside your cozy home. you walk in and spot wonwoo in the kitchen, busy stirring something in a pot as you discard your bag on the couch, spotting oreo, wonwoo's cat curled up on the other end in a peaceful slumber.
you slowly make your way towards wonwoo. "hey", you say, as you stand next to him, leaning your head on his shoulder. "hi love", he responds immediatily as he presses a soft kiss to your temple as you nod. "long day?", he asks, taking in your tired expression as you nod your head.
"you're home early", you point out, as you hook your arm around his, watching him stir the pot of soup carefully so that the ingredients wouldn't stick to the bottom and burn.
"yeah, i wanted to surprise you", he says, looking at you. you smile at his words and he smiles back at you. you let go of his arm and busy yourself with setting up the table. you and wonwoo had sweet love story and were now living a happy married life, and you couldn't ask for anyone else to spend it with. wonwoo was just your person and you were his.
but wonwoo's cat on the other hand was another story. you could say that she didn't really have a thing for you. oreo had never bonded with you, and you were only allowed to give her the occasional pet before she'd walk off, uninterested in you. orea never got cuddly with you like she did with wonwoo. you were bummed at first but you decided that maybe she'd grow into you later it. but it looked like you were just going to be a side character to her.
wonwoo asks you about your day as you both eat, but he's also acutely aware of how little food you've served yourself and how you've barely touched the soup he made. "not hungry?", he prompts after a while. "i am, i'm just a little tired", you tell, feeling a bit bad because wonwoo had made your favorite soup and you barely felt like eating it. you force yourself to have at least a few spoonfuls of the spoon and finish up your rice.
it's two am and you wake up feeling nauseous so you sit up, hoping that would ease the feeling but it didn't. it was like wonwoo was so in tune with you that he could always tell when you're awake and you heard him stir beside you. "are you okay love?", he asks, his voice laced with sleep.
"just a little nauseous", you tell softly, feeling umcomfortable.
"should i make you some peppermint tea?", he asks, now sitting up beside you. he doesn't wait for your answer as he heads to the kitchen to make it for you regardless. he comes up and places the steaming mug of peppermint tea on your bedside table, as he sits down next to you. his hand finds yours as he laces his fingers in your hand, looking at you, worried. after a few sips of the tea, you feel slightly better and you're now cuddled in wonwoo's arms as you lay your head on his chest, his hands holding you safe from the world.
you feel the bed dip again as oreo, wonwoo's cat jumps on the bed, walking towards you both. you look at her, ready for her to go towards wonwoo but instead, she comes up to you and settles next to you. "baby are you seeing this", you tell, shocked. "looks like she's finally warming up to you", he jokes and it was like oreo understood and she meows as she looks at you before curling up beside you.
you fall asleep only to wake up an hour late as you rush into the bathroom and throw up, feeling horrible and absolutely terrible. you feel wonwoo's hand on your back a few moments later as he rubs it gently to help you. he then helps you up and you clean yourself up before he helps you back in bed.
that whole week, you battle with nausea, throwing up either in the morning or night, and feeling tired and fatigued all of a sudden. you try to brush it off, blaming it on the stress or just the flu, but wonwoo insists on going to the doctor to figure out what is going on.
you take a sick leave the next day and you're sitting on the couch, scrolling through your phone when oreo comes up to you again, sitting on your stomach, giving you a little meow as she closes her eyes and goes into her meditation. you smile, feeling like you were being blessed by her presence lately. she'd started to get cuddly with you the past week and you were surprised but happy because otherwise you were going to think she was going to hate you forever.
you're aimlessly scrolling through your phone when you come across a video of a cat sitting on a lady, much like how oreo was sitting on you and as the video goes on, the lady explains how she found out she was pregnant because her cat started to get extra cuddly with her. your brain pauses and you glance at oreo, who's in a peaceful slumber on your stomach. you quickly open google, typing in if cats can tell if a person is pregnant and you gulp as you read articles and information that shows up and things slowly start adding up in your mind. this would explain all the nausea, the weird mood swings you've been having and the fatigue you've been experiencing the past two weeks. oh my god.
you gently move oreo off you, apologising to her as you grab a coat and slip on your shoes, heading to the nearest pharmacy to buy a pregnancy test. you buy two to give yourself the benefit of the doubt and now you're in your bathroom as you wait for the results of pregnancy tests. you stand a few steps back, nervous to see the results.
sure, you and wonwoo had talked about having kids of your own and it was something you both did want. you both had also taken care and been careful whenever you were intimate with each other. but now as you stand in the bathroom all alone, a feeling of dread engulfs you and pools in your stomach. you move towards the countertop and look at yourself in the mirror. it was going to be okay you thought ou close your eyes and take a deep breath and you finally find the courage to look down at the pregnancy tests laid out in front of you. you blink down as you see two lines on them bioth and let out a shaky breath as you try to ground yourself.
you didn't tell wonwoo that evening, still trying to take everything in but mostly because you didn't know how to. you were unsure and scared. but when he comes home tonight, you can't seem to hold onto this secret anymore as it seems to be eating you alive. when he comes home later that evening, you're quick to greet him as he shrugs off his blazer, his eyes lighting up when he sees you. you give him a kiss as you ask him about his day. he walks into the bedroom to change and you follow him. "what's going on in that pretty little mind of yours", he asks as he loosens his tie and takes off his watch. "how do you know something is going on?", you ask. "because you only follow me around when you have something you want to get off your chest", he tells, coming towards you. you find it sweet that he's picked up on his piece of information and observed, he knew you too well.
"okay fine, i do have something to tell you", you say finally as you move closer to wonwoo. you look up at him and he patiently waits for you to speak. but as you're looking at him and trying to find the right words and how to get them out, you find yourself getting overwhelmed with emotion all of a sudden and you're tearing up. your gaze flickers to the side of the room and down before you look back up but wonwoo is keen to pick up on his.
"what's wrong sweetheart?", he asks as you try with all your might to hold the tears in, trying to blink back your tears, but you can't and they flow down your cheeks and before you know it you're crying. wonwoo pulls you into his arms, his hand running up and down your back softly in an attempt to soothe you. "did something happen?", he asks, worried as his gaze softens.
you sniffle as you look at him, still in his arms. "no- i-i- don't know why i'm crying god i feel like an idiot", you tell as wonwoo cups your face, gently wiping away your tears with his thumb. "you're not", he assures you and he holds your gaze as he looks at you sweetly, not forcing you to say anything.
he gently moves you to the bedside and sits you down looking at you deeply, a hit of worry laced in his gaze. you'd been off this entire week and he was worried.
"are you okay?", he asks again, gently as he looks at you, his hand intertwined in yours.
"i-im pregnant", you finally tell softly and in the quiet room it was like your words echoed in the air. wonwoo blinks at you and you can see the wave of emotion he goes through.
"i took a pregnancy test, two in fact and they both came back positive", you add, looking at wonwoo to see his reaction.
"you're pregnant", he repeats like he was testing how the words would sound on his lips. "we're pregnant", he says again and you nod.
"i'm pregnant", you tell, tearing up again. "we're pregnant", you say again.
you find yourself tearing up again and wonwoo cups your cheek. "but what if i'm not ready, i'm scared", you add softly and wonwoo is quick to embrace you in another hug.
"i think, no i know that you're going to be a great mother love", he tells. "and remember, you're not alone in this, i'm right here and i'll be here with you every step of the way", he adds as he hugs you tighter.
you pull away, looking at him and you smile. "i love you", you say. " i love you more", he says, making you smile.
"i can't believe we're going to be parents", he says in a soft excitement as he kisses your forehead.
"you know, oreo was the first one to know", you say and he furrows his brows in confusion.
"what do you mean?", he asks, his hands resting on waist. "that's why she's been so clingy and cuddly to me these last two weeks. she knew i was pregnant, cats can sense it", you explain and his interest is piqued by this piece of information. "should we make a bet on if oreo's going to befriend our kid or not", he says and you snort, chuckling at his suggestion. god how you loved him and his silly antics. "i'm gonna bet she will befriend him, she already has technically", you add before leaning in wonwoo's chest again.

-bonus scene-
you're laying on the couch, now six months along your pregnancy and your bump is growing healthily. wonwoo's been so sweet and supportive throughout it all, from helping you when you were puking your guts out from morning sickness to getting you all your pregnancy cravings even if they were weird.
you hear the door open, wonwoo walking in with takeaway from your favourite cafe because you were craving a red velvet cake. he triumphantly lifts the bag as he walks in, putting it down on the table as he sees oreo perched on your belly.
"i think out kid is going to be a cat lover", wonwoo says. "imagine if they're not", you add as wonwoo hands you the cake box and you take it, the sweet smell already filling the air. you take a bit and sigh, content and offer wonwoo a bite.
just then you feel the baby kick and oreo looks alert, wondering where the little movement came from as she looks around and looks at you with a questioning look. "baby, did you see that?", you ask. the baby kicks again and oreo looks around again and glances at your belly before meowing at you and you chuckle. "aww she felt the kick", you tell. wonwoo smiles as he looks at you, his heart overflowing with love as he thinks about how lucky he is and how grateful he is

The weather in Seoul was dull—gray clouds and scattered, drizzling rain suspended over the city since dawn had broken. Most people hated such weather, but Jeon Wonwoo was not one of those people. In fact, he found comfort in the gloominess. He enjoyed the idea of having an excuse to stay in. And if he did need to go outside, he liked that there was a lack of the usual crowd of people that would be around if the weather was more ideal. Traffic was less compacted. Lines of any kind were short (or non-existent). The city was quiet, just as he liked it.
On days like today, he preferred to spend his time inside with a book or playing video games. But work had been scarce for him these past few weeks, so when his best friend, Mingyu, had informed him of a job offer he had no choice but to accept it. That’s how he ended up at a local art museum downtown at 9:45 a.m. on a Thursday morning. Despite the doors not opening for another fifteen minutes, a worker had let him in through the front door when he got her attention and pointed to his camera bag. She realized he didn’t have an umbrella with him, and so she quickly let him in. Luckily he had a raincoat over his outfit and a hat to protect his hair, so the most he had to deal with was a little rain on the back of his neck. He thanked the worker, staying close to the door to get any glimpse of Mingyu arriving.
In the meantime, he watched the cars pass by outside, each one splashing water out of the puddle and onto the sidewalk just in front of the entrance to the museum. He noticed it had lightened up a bit outside, the sky turning from a darker gray to a lighter gray with wispy, white clouds. He wondered if anyone would even show up to this exhibit opening in such weather conditions.
About five minutes after he arrived, Mingyu came knocking on the door, covering his head with a magazine. The worker came back and opened the door for him, deciding to leave it unlocked. Wonwoo’s younger friend came in, complaining under his breath about forgetting his umbrella and getting wet. He shook the sopping magazine, droplets of water falling onto the concrete floor. His gray button-up was a darker gray on the shoulders and sleeves from the rain that seeped into it. Wonwoo noticed the worker glaring at his friend for dripping on the floor and tried not to let his amusement show.
“Forgot your umbrella too?” he questioned Mingyu, “Hopefully your notebook didn’t get ruined.”
His friend looked to the bag he had hanging from his shoulder. The bag didn’t have a zipper, but it did have a flap that fell over the opening to keep it “closed” in a sense. He quickly shoved his hand inside, feeling around for his notebook. When he felt the edges of the paper and confirmed they were dry, he smiled, “All good. And why so early? That’s unusual.”
“I’m never late,” Wonwoo defended.
“Yeah, but if I tell you to be somewhere at ten a.m. you usually don’t walk in until nine fifty-eight.”
The older of the two shrugged, “Got an early start today.”
The two men began their work day, Wonwoo fine-tuning the settings on his camera to his liking while Mingyu made some preliminary notes in his notebook. They set up together in the lobby, but once the artist had arrived, Mingyu excused himself to greet her. Wonwoo stayed in the lobby, taking a couple of test pictures to see if anything else needed to be adjusted. Around him several museum workers, journalists, and other photographers were gathering with the artist. Wonwoo wasn’t the biggest fan of interacting with strangers, so he kept to himself. Luckily, he busied himself with his camera which was enough to keep people from disrupting him.
Once Mingyu returned to his friend, the two joined the growing crowd waiting by the entrance to the new exhibit where a ceremonial ribbon cutting was about to take place. Wonwoo found the ribbon to be a bit superfluous. Nonetheless, he stood towards the back of the small crowd, arms crossed and camera slung around his neck by its strap. He was hired to take some pictures of the event and the art pieces for Mingyu’s article, and that was it. It was somewhat easy money for him, but it did take more time and social interaction than he liked. Truthfully, he couldn’t wait for this to be over and go home to edit.
He watched you, the artist, get behind the ribbon and make your speech thanking everyone for showing up. He snapped a couple pictures as you thanked the museum for giving your art a home temporarily. After a few minutes, you ended your speech by giving a small spiel about how art was therapeutic to you and it should be for everyone else. He found himself subconsciously nodding in agreement, because photography was a form of therapy for him as well.
The ribbon was cut after your speech, and the congregation of guests entered the exhibit for the first time. Mingyu and Wonwoo brought up the rear, but they were just as astonished as every single person ahead of them when they saw the art on display. Several paintings of various mediums hung on the walls, varying in size. The large columns in the middle of the room also held paintings on them, each piece of art accompanied by a small plaque with information about it—like the title and date. Mingyu, just like the other journalists, was already jotting down notes in his book, the tip of his tongue poking out of the corner of his pressed lips in concentration. Wonwoo peered around the room, simply taking everything in. His hands held his camera which was still hanging from his neck.
The two friends walked around together, patiently waiting for the other guests to continue on before taking their time in front of a piece to write or take pictures. As they got to the last few paintings, Mingyu made a comment about finding the bathroom, and that he would be back shortly. Wonwoo nodded and continued to snap a few pictures of the paintings before him. He came to a stop in front of a simple painting of sunflowers; the acrylic paint forming a kind of 3D effect on the canvas. He stared at that one for a moment longer than the rest of them, not for any particular reason, he supposed. It didn’t stand out from the others or anything, but he liked it for a reason he couldn’t quite put his finger on.
“Do you like sunflowers?”
Your voice startled him, though he didn’t show it. He merely turned to you, giving you a small nod of acknowledgement as well as a small, polite smile, “They’re fine I guess.”
“This was one of my first pieces I made in art school,” you explained, and it was then he noticed it did indeed have the earliest date posted among all of the canvases in the room.
“It’s nice,” he said, “Congratulations, by the way. You’re very talented.”
Your face broke into a sweet smile despite that being the nth compliment of this morning. Each one felt like a gold star being rewarded to you, and it filled you with happiness. You gestured to his camera, “Do you work for a magazine?”
“Um, sort of,” he shrugged, “My friend does, he just has me shoot pictures for his articles.”
“Oh, I do remember seeing you with someone,” you remembered, “Um, the tall one with the gray shirt, right?”
“Yes.”
“I see. I haven’t gotten to speak with him in depth yet, do you know if he’ll be back soon?”
“He should be returning from the bathroom soon,” he replied. Usually Wonwoo was terrible at making conversation with strangers. He dreaded it. But you gave off such a comforting, welcoming energy. He found himself wanting to talk to you about, well, anything, “This weather isn’t too ideal for this occasion, isn’t it?”
“The rain?” you asked, “Yeah, it’s a bummer, but the turn out was great still. I didn’t think so many people would come.”
“Why’s that?” his brow raised slightly in curiosity.
“I didn’t think my art was special enough to warrant such an exhibit. One of my mentors from art school is friends with the head of the museum, and he asked him for a favor. He’s put a lot of time and faith in me, but I don’t think my art is worth such a grandiose gesture,” you spoke so casually, as if it was fact. Wonwoo found your confession to be a little disheartening. Sure, the art might not have the prestige to qualify for the MoMA or the Louvre, but to someone like him who casually enjoyed art, your work was impressive.
“Well, I’m glad he did. Your work is amazing,” Wonwoo was a man of few words, but he hoped the few he could give would bring you some reassurance. And for the moment it did. You smiled warmly, perking up further when Mingyu returned to the both of you.
“Hello again, would you be able to spare a few minutes with me?” he asked you, already getting his notebook and pen from his bag. You agreed, and the two of you began a conversation while Wonwoo continued to snap some photos of the last paintings. When he was done, he waited patiently for you and Mingyu to finish your conversation. Around ten minutes passed, and the crowd was fluctuating as some people left and some newcomers joined. Wonwoo watched the guests observe the art, getting some inspiration to take photos of them as well. He figured some candid pictures would look nice too. He even got one of you and Mingyu discussing the sunflower piece before he approached the two of you again.
The three of you talked for what felt like hours but in reality was only twenty minutes. At some point the conversation had veered from art to your social lives. Mingyu was a very sociable, outgoing person, so it didn’t take long for him to strike a casual conversation with you. He had learned that the three of you frequented the same coffee shop a few streets away.
“We’ll have to get coffee together some time,” you said, “Should we swap numbers?”
Mingyu happily did so, and the two of you swapped phones to add each others contacts. You made a comment about getting with some other journalists, but you promised to stay in touch before leaving the two men with a “thank you for coming!”.
The rain had cleared up by the time the two friends left the museum. They walked together to the bus stop across the street, waiting for the bus that would be passing shortly. While they waited, they talked about the notes Mingyu got and the shots Wonwoo took.
“She was really sweet,” Mingyu said with a smile, “She told me she didn’t have many friends in the city. We’ll have to take her out with our friends some time soon.”
“Sure,” was all Wonwoo responded absentmindedly, replying to a text from his brother.
“She was pretty, too,” Mingyu added in a suggestive tone.
That made Wonwoo look up from his phone with a pointed look, “What are you implying?”
“Nothing,” his friend shrugged, but his expression was telling before his mouth was, “It’s just been a while since you’ve dated is all. You two seemed to be getting along well.”
The older man rolled his eyes, returning them to his phone as he opened Instagram and proceeded to scroll through his explore page, “I spoke to her for five minutes while you were in the bathroom. I’m not going to fall in love with her in five minutes.”
His friend sighed, “You’ll never fall in love if you’re not open to a potential relationship.”
Wonwoo got quiet then, and the conversation didn’t pick up again until shortly before the bus arrived. On the ride he thought about what Mingyu said. It was true, he hadn’t dated in a very long time, since college actually. Now that he was twenty-seven, it was getting harder and harder for him to find himself in a situation to meet someone. He rarely left his house. He spent his free time doing things alone, and when he did go out with his friends he stuck to them pretty closely. On top of all of that, he wasn’t the most approachable person. He wasn’t a cold person, or at least he didn’t consider himself one. But his looks gave the impression that he was, his sharp eyes and straight-drawn lips making him seem standoffish.
And unlike his friends, he didn’t believe in “love at first sight”. The idea of meeting someone for the first time and instantly being head over heels for them just didn’t connect with him. He didn’t understand how others felt that. When he dated in the past, it took weeks, even months to fall for the person he had a crush on. And he wasn’t necessarily upset with the way he lived; he didn’t mind being alone. Since he was a kid, he always felt more comfortable doing things by himself. But lately he realized his day-to-day did feel a little lonely, especially since most of his friends were settling down with their partners or moving away to pursue careers. Maybe Mingyu was right. Maybe he did need some kind of change.
Tumblr media
The first time you hung out with the two men after meeting them at the museum, Mingyu had invited you to join them for lunch. The three of you ate Korean barbecue, learning a bit about each other over a few bottles of soju. Wonwoo didn’t do much talking that time, mostly speaking only when spoken to. You and Mingyu carried the conversations, not that either of you minded. You felt like Wonwoo would need time to open up to you, so you gave him that. Luckily, the two agreed to hang out with you again later in the week. Mingyu had to get some editing done, so he invited you and Wonwoo to keep him company at his apartment.
You were shocked when Wonwoo was the one to engage in conversation with you first, greeting you at the door and welcoming you in. He and Mingyu were preparing a simple dinner, so you sat at the kitchen island watching them cook. You noticed Wonwoo seemed more comfortable talking this time around. Maybe it was because you had hung out already, or maybe it was because he was in a familiar environment. Either way you liked seeing a little crack in the shell that kept his true personality shielded away from you.
Over a couple months the three of you became really close, and you had even met some of their other friends. Mingyu’s office wasn’t far from the art supply store you visited every week, so you made it a habit to visit him every Thursday on your supply runs. The two of you would get lunch or just sit in his office and talk during his break before you returned to your art studio. You really liked the friendship blossoming between you and the two men, but then one day something changed.
Wonwoo texted you out of the blue one Saturday mid-morning asking if you wanted to get some coffee with him. You found it odd that he texted you because he had never done that before. It was usually Mingyu who texted you, or they texted you in a group chat that you had together. Nonetheless, you responded with “of course!” and got dressed.
When you showed up to the café you were confused to see Wonwoo sitting at a two-seater table by himself. You noticed he looked like he put more effort into his appearance today. Normally when you hung out he was in lounging clothes—a simple shirt with sweatpants or maybe loose jeans. The only time you remembered seeing him dressed this nicely was the day you met, and he was working then. But he didn’t mention working today? So what could be the occasion for him to wear off-white pants, a mustard yellow sweater, and what looked like new shoes?
He was reading something on his phone when you approached him, the light from the screen reflecting on his thin-rimmed glasses. When you set your purse down, he looked up at you and gave you a small smile, “Hey.”
“Hi, is Mingyu not joining?” you asked curiously as you sat across from him. You didn’t notice when the corners of his mouth wavered for a second.
“No, he’s working. You’re stuck with just me today,” he joked.
You chuckled softly, “Don’t make it sound so bad. Was there a reason you wanted to hang out today though? I have to say I was a little shocked when you texted me.”
It was Mingyu’s idea, but Wonwoo didn’t want to admit that. His friend had pointed it out that the two of you had never hung out alone. He figured it might help Wonwoo warm up to you more if you spent some time together one-on-one. And even though he didn’t say it out loud, Wonwoo knew Mingyu secretly wanted the two of you to work out romantically—for whatever reason, he wasn’t sure. Wonwoo wasn’t completely closed off to the idea; you were gorgeous and friendly. But he knew it wasn’t going to be an overnight thing. It took weeks for him to feel comfortable with you as a friend, he could only imagine the time it would take to start a romantic relationship.
“I, um, just realized we never got a chance to hang out alone. We don’t really know much about each other outside of our hang outs with Mingyu,” he said. In that moment he also realized how tense he felt. His legs were stiff and knees were drawn in close together under the table. His fingers toyed with the wrapper of his straw from his iced americano. His shoulders were drawn in the slightest bit, and he could feel his posture was kind of terrible. He tried to relax without making it look obvious that he was tense in the first place.
“Yeah, I guess I figured you just didn’t like to socialize as much as Mingyu did.”
“I don’t, but I’m trying to be better about that,” he admitted, and you felt like you might actually be getting somewhere with him, “He teases me a lot about being a hermit.”
You laughed softly, and he smiled with you, “Well, it’s nice to see you coming out of your shell.”
After an appreciative look from him, you excused yourself to order a drink. Wonwoo immediately opened his phone and texted Mingyu.
wonu 🐈‍⬛: ok i’m here, now what do we talk about?
gyu 🐶: well first, don’t be on your phone smh. second, just ask her questions about herself. seem interested. try not to look bored like you always do
Wonwoo sighed in annoyance, ignoring the last part of his message as he turned his phone over on the table. You returned shortly after, also with an iced americano. He decided to give his friend’s advice a try, “Do you always order iced americanos?”
“Only sometimes. My go-to is usually a hot latte, but it’s a bit warm for that today,” you shrugged, taking a sip of your drink. He nodded in understanding, but he was unsure of what else to say. It was so much easier to converse with people you’ve been friends with for several years.
Luckily you had no issue with it, and you broke the awkward silence up for him, “How long have you been doing photography?”
“I’ve done it as a hobby since I was in high school, but after I graduated I started doing freelance work. So, almost ten years.”
“I’d love to see your work some time,” you spoke fondly, remembering the first time you met, “Your shots of my exhibit were amazing, so I can imagine the rest of your work is too.“
“My stuff doesn’t compare to the art you make,” he said it without even thinking. You weren’t sure if you should take it as a self-deprecating remark or flattery.
Your lips quipped into a thoughtful line before you derailed, “Okay, your turn. Ask me a question.”
“Oh, are we playing twenty questions?” Wonwoo joked, sitting back in his chair and sipping on his drink. The sunlight beamed directly across his right eye and onto his cheek. His eye was a deep chocolate brown color as opposed to the dark, cold, almost-black color it usually was. You wondered if his eyes were always that soft.
“Yeah, I’ve just decided. Your turn,” you repeated. You crossed your arms on top of the table, subtly leaning in as a sign of giving him all your attention. He fought the smile wanting to live on his lips, opting to look deep in thought. The two of you went back and forth for nearly half an hour, just asking each other questions. Some answers warranted tangents and story times before you went back to the questions, but you enjoyed it to the fullest. And truthfully, Wonwoo was too. He didn’t think he could get so much enjoyment from a game he used to play with his friends in grade school, yet here he was. On the verge of laughter as you told an embarrassing story from high school in which you were running late to school and didn’t realize until your second class that your underwear was stuck to the back of your shirt.
“I can’t believe you did that,” Wonwoo laughed softly, a crinkle appearing on the bridge of his nose, “I would’ve dropped out of school.”
“I thought about it,” you joked, a bashful smile on your lips as you remembered the story like it happened yesterday, “But yeah, if you’re going to get your clothes from the dryer, double check that your under garments aren’t stuck to them first.”
“Noted,” Wonwoo looked over and noticed that a new couple was sitting at the table behind you. That was the second time new people sat right there. He wondered how long you two had been sitting, but he didn’t want to check his phone in case you got the impression that he was in a rush to leave. Which he definitely wasn’t, “Okay, I think it’s your turn again.”
“Okay, um . . . “ your eyes searched the room for a question prompt, but you were grasping for straws- Wait, that’s it. Straws. The cups of plastic-covered straws on the counter were organized by color, one cup for each color they offered—pink, blue, and yellow, “What’s your favorite color?”
“Hm, why don’t you guess?” Wonwoo replied.
If he was honest, he didn’t really have a favorite color. He supposed if he considered it more he would settle for blue or purple, but he didn’t care enough either way. A good ninety-five percent of his wardrobe was black and five percent color, but he just liked black as a good neutral color to wear. He figured he would just let you guess until you decided to give up.
You thought about it for a moment, but no specific color came to mind immediately. His clothes were mostly black, but lots of people wore black clothing and had a favorite color that wasn’t black. His shirt was yellow as well as the straw for his americano, but there was no other indication that it would be his favorite color from what you could remember. Still, you figured it might be your best guess, “Yellow!”
Wonwoo couldn’t help but smile at your prideful declaration. You said it as if you knew it for a fact.
“Yeah.”
“Wait, really?” your eyes got wide and the grin on your face grew wide. Did you really guess it correctly in one try?
Even Wonwoo was shocked by his answer. Yellow wasn’t his favorite color. He didn’t have one. But you seemed so excited and hopeful and sure of yourself that he didn’t even think twice about his answer.
“Yeah, good job,” he praised you, and he had to admit to himself you looked really cute when you clapped your hands together in a small celebration for yourself, “What’s yours?”
“Pink,” you seemed visibly brighter when you answered. It made sense to Wonwoo. Pink was such a cute, bright, outgoing color. It signified friendliness and sweetness, and all of that just screamed you. Maybe he liked pink too. “It’s been my favorite since I was a kid. Everything I had was pink.”
“Pink suits you.”
You felt yourself flushing at the compliment, your smile turning sheepish, “I think yellow suits you, too. I’m picturing a nice pastel yellow for you. Very spring.”
He tried to picture it: him in a pastel yellow shirt. The mental image seemed foreign, since the mustard sweater he was currently wearing was the brightest color he had ever worn besides white. But he wouldn’t be opposed to it.
“Alright, your turn.”
A few more questions were exchanged between you two, long after your cups were emptied. The patrons of the café that had been present when you showed up were long gone, and new faces took their places. After a while you felt a little guilty for hogging the table for so long, even though it had only been a little under two hours. Wonwoo made a comment about heading out, so you both got up and threw your trash. He walked with you to the bus station, even though he had driven to the café in his own car. You thanked him for inviting you to hang out and told him that you enjoyed it.
“We’ll have to do this again some time, but maybe not tell Mingyu. He might get jealous,” you teased your non-present friend, making Wonwoo laugh softly. He knew for a fact that Mingyu would have no problem with it; he would probably encourage it, if anything.
“I don’t think he’d mind. He’s not usually the jealous type,” Wonwoo replied, stuffing his hands into his pants pockets. He tried to think of something you two could do together, and he recalled that during the twenty—more like fifty plus—questions you had said you liked video games too, “If you want, we could hang out at my apartment, play some video games. And order pizza or something?”
“That sounds like fun!” your eyes lit up at the idea. You had never actually been to his apartment before. Every time you hung out was at Mingyu’s place, your place, or somewhere in the city. You wondered what his apartment looked like. He seemed like the type to keep everything tidy and minimal, “I’ll be pretty busy this week, but maybe we can work something out for next weekend.”
“Cool,” he nodded and kept small talk until the bus arrived to pick you and a handful of other people up. He waved you off politely, and when you were out of sight, he let out a hefty sigh. It felt like a weight had been taken off his shoulders, but not in a bad way. He liked you, so there was this small, subconscious pressure that he felt to be more outgoing. He wanted you to like him too.
Tumblr media
Over the next few weeks, there was a shift in the dynamic between the three of you, and it seemed to be obvious to everyone except Wonwoo. You and him had grown a lot closer as you started to hang out alone outside of your usual outings with Mingyu and their other friends. And it showed when the group was together. You always took the seat closest to Wonwoo. He laughed more at your jokes. You complimented his outfits—which were slowly but progressively becoming more colorful. He offered to walk you to your car or the bus or home whenever he could. Yet, still, when asked if anything was going on between you two, he seemed confused.
“It’s not like that,” he told Mingyu when the two were walking to a job they had booked one afternoon—a restaurant opening, “________ and I have gotten close, but not that close.”
“Hey, I know you wear glasses, but you can’t be this blind,” his friend retorted, “You two like each other.”
Wonwoo faltered a bit as he walked, but tried to play it off, “Did she say she liked me?”
“No, but she doesn’t need to. Neither do you, but as your best friend it would be nice if you told me these things.”
Wonwoo rolled his eyes, annoyed that Mingyu had made him think you had finally admitted having feelings for him.
“You two act like you’re in your own world all the time. The guys notice it, too, not just me,” Mingyu continued, “And since when do you like yellow so much?”
The question took Wonwoo so off guard that he laughed incredulously, “What?”
“She’s always giving you stuff that’s yellow. And you started wearing yellow clothes,” Mingyu pointed out. And it was true.
The first thing you had gifted him was a simple pen; it was a sunflower yellow color with black lettering etched on the side that said ‘hello, sunshine!’. He was confused when you had handed it to him that second time you hung out together to play video games. You showed up on his doorstep, telling him to close his eyes and put out his hands. When he had opened them again the pen was sat in his palms.
“What’s this for?”
“Nothing, I guess. I was at the supply store and noticed it by the check out, and I thought about you. So I got it for you. It’s cute, isn’t it?”
Wonwoo honestly had no reason to use such a pen since his day-to-day work required little writing. And most of his notes were made in his phone, but the sentiment behind your gift made his heart flutter, “It is. Thank you, _______.”
And nearly every time after then you had gifted him things similar. While at the park with him and Mingyu, you bought him a banana flavored popsicle, solely for the fact that it was yellow—and you were relieved to find out he liked the banana flavor. When you went bowling with their friends, you gave him the yellow ball and left yourself with the last one which was brown. When you went to Mingyu’s to see the two of them, you had brought them each a keychain from a new pop-up shop that was near your art studio. You gave Mingyu a red one that had a soccer ball on it while Wonwoo’s was yellow and had a sunflower on it. You had initially got it because of its color, but the flower reminded you of the day you met him, so it held even more sentiment.
And recently, Wonwoo’s favorite water bottle had broken, so while you were out shopping you had found one that was similar to it. The cap was a little different, but it had the same shape and size, and it was a golden yellow hue.
When you gave it to him, the two of you were about to leave his apartment to get some dinner at the fried chicken place down the street. You had mentioned that you had a surprise for him, then you fished the bottle out of your tote bag to show him. His heart skipped a beat and a smile crept onto his lips when he saw it.
“I know you probably won’t love it as much as your other bottle, but hopefully you still like it,” you said with a shrug of your shoulders. He took it from your offering grasp and shook his head.
“I do love it,” he said.
“You can leave it here while we go eat,” you turned towards the door, pulling your bag more securely onto your shoulder. But just before you could reach for the doorknob, Wonwoo’s voice called your name, making you turn back to face him, “Hm?”
Your eyes widened when you realized he was a lot closer than you thought, just a foot or so away from you. His tall frame seemed to tower over you, causing you to have to look up at him. You could see a struggle happening behind his eyes, as if he was going back and forth in his mind trying to decide on something. You were about to question him when suddenly he leaned forward and placed a quick kiss to your cheek. The skin that he touched felt hot in his wake, the warmth spread across your face and ultimately your whole body felt heated under his gaze.
“Thank you, ________. For everything,” he spoke softly, his anxiety apparent in his tone. He averted his gaze, looking down at his hands. A bracelet that you had bought him last week was wrapped around his wrist—white beads and yellow smiley face charms decorating it. For some reason seeing the jewelry gave him the little boost of confidence he needed to ask, “Would you like to make this a date?”
Your eyes widened even further, but you couldn’t ignore the flurry of butterflies going wild inside your chest, their fluttering wings tickling your heart. Your crush on Wonwoo had started long before his crush on you had formed, but that didn’t bother you. Because you knew that he liked you now, and you couldn’t pass the opportunity to say, “Yes.”
A charming smile grew wide on his face, prompting you to grin too. Happiness bloomed inside you, and the two of you walked out of the apartment suddenly feeling shy after wordlessly admitting your feelings for each other. Despite his nerves, though, Wonwoo found the courage to take your hand in his as you walked down the sidewalk to the fried chicken place.
Along the way you pointed out some yellow canola flowers planted outside of an office building, and Wonwoo decided in that moment that he would never get tired of the color yellow. The way your face lit up when you saw it or gave him yellow-themed gifts, he would always find it cute. As far as he was concerned, the entire world could be covered in the color yellow, and he would be content just knowing it made you happy. He no longer would appreciate rain; instead, he would look forward to sunny days when the bright, yellow sunlight would remind him of you and your kind heart. Maybe yellow wasn’t his favorite color at first but, over time, it would be.

Tumblr media
The sun cast a warm, golden glow across the room as you and Mingyu snuggled together on the couch. It had been a long and tiring week for you, filled with never-ending deadlines and challenging work situations.
"I want to spend the day with you doing nothing," you murmured, your voice soft and tired as you nuzzled into Mingyu's chest. Mingyu smiled down at you, his fingers gently brushing a strand of hair away from your face. "Nothing sounds perfect," he replied, his deep voice a soothing melody. "Just you and me" You let out a contented sigh and snuggled closer to Mingyu, wrapping your arms around him. "Cuddles?" "Absolutely" Mingyu whispered, planting a soft kiss on the top of your head. He shifted to a more comfortable position, pulling you even closer, your bodies fitting together like two missing puzzle pieces.
For a while, you simply lay there, basking in each other's presence, the world outside your little cocoon forgotten. Mingyu ran his fingers through your hair, massaging your scalp gently. You closed your eyes, your worries melting away as you enjoyed the sensation of his touch.
As the day drifted on, you found yourselves tracing shapes on each other's palms, a soothing and intimate connection that needed no words. Mingyu's long, elegant fingers danced across your palm, creating invisible patterns. It was a silent promise that he would always be there to comfort you, no matter what.
Your thumb moved in slow circles on Mingyu's palm, sending shivers of warmth up his arm. You looked up at him with eyes that spoke volumes, gratitude and love overflowing. "You always know how to make me feel better, Gyu."
Mingyu's heart swelled with affection as he gazed into your eyes. "I would do anything for you, Y/N. You mean the world to me." You blushed at his words, your cheeks turning a delicate shade of pink. "I love you, Gyu." Mingyu's smile was brighter than the sun streaming through the windows. "I love you too, more than you'll ever know."
You continued your gentle palm tracing, lost in the beauty of the moment. Time seemed to stand still as you held each other, finding solace in the quiet rhythm of your hearts beating in sync.
As the afternoon turned into evening, Mingyu suggested you move to the balcony, where you could enjoy the cool breeze and watch the stars come out. You eagerly agreed and wrapped yourselves in a cozy blanket, your fingers still intertwined.
Sitting side by side, you looked up at the night sky, the stars twinkling above like a million tiny diamonds. You rested your head on Mingyu's shoulder. "Forehead kisses?" you murmured, your voice filled with adoration. Mingyu chuckled softly. "I couldn't agree more". And he placed a soft kiss on your forehead, his lips lingering there.
The night passed in peaceful bliss, with Mingyu and you sharing stories, dreams, and whispered promises. You talked about your future together, a life filled with love, happiness, and endless cuddles.

hi june :] i've been thinking about it, who do u think from svt would be most likely to wanna hold ur hand during sex? 💤
hi beloved 💤!! this made me squeal and giggle and kick my feet this is such a me ask so ofc i had to talk about my thoughts!! hope you enjoy :)
member | svt ot13 x afab reader genre | mtl, smut, fluff (each member has a little paragraph) word count | ~950 warnings | descriptions of female anatomy, mentions of bondage, soft sex & rough sex
Tumblr media
most
1 - jun
i’m definitely not biased at all but i think he loves holding hands like anywhere 24/7 at home, walking in public, in the car, and especially during sex. it’s as natural to him as breathing. if he doesn’t have your hand to hold, then is life even worth living at that point. he especially loves it when you offer your hand to him before he even has to ask, and he’ll take it and hold your hands together beside your head and kiss you over and over again until you can barely think any thoughts other than how good he feels thrusting into you and how warm and soft his hands feel in yours
2 - seokmin
the dk stands for dude kisser but here is a little known fact it also stands for d-hand k-holder. he is the clingiest man on the planet and we know this because he anytime you turn around he’s hugging the nearest person as hard as he possibly can so he would totally be the same way during sex. he’d hold onto your arms, your wrists, your hands, anything he could reach but tangling his fingers with yours would be so grounding for him and honestly it would give him a head rush from the closeness with you
3 - hoshi
i think he actually really likes holding hands but he’s always too busy horanghae-ing with them. kidding i actually feel like he would be a lot higher on the list than you might think because he’s a clingy boy and he needs to be touching every inch of your skin at all times or he might short-circuit
4 - joshua
he would say the reason he likes holding hands is because he’s a gentleman and he’s being romantic blah blah, but the real reason is that he has a raging size kink (me too), particularly for hands: it would drive him absolutely crazy seeing his large hands covering yours and seeing how your fingers can barely wrap around his palm would get him so riled up. once you both cum he’d probably ask you for a handjob because he wants to see your hands one more time as you struggle to fit them around his cock
5 - mingyu
big clumsy puppy man would love holding your hand but i think he would be deterred from doing it if the position required more effort on his part, so he would probably only do it in simpler positions like missionary where he can clasp your hands together and just fuck you into the next dimension without putting much thought into it
6 - chan
chan seems very possessive to me (in a healthy way) so i think he would like holding your hand because it shows that you’re his and he’s the only one that gets to have the honor of holding your hand
7 - minghao
i think he would enjoy it an average amount. he wouldn’t mind if you don’t do it every single time, but if you asked him he would prefer holding hands over not. he would probably cite some study that says holding hands is good for relationships or something but he would also just enjoy how it makes everything feel more intimate
8 - jeonghan
in my mind he is a little bit of a secret hopeless romantic, so he might do it and not even say anything about it. he’d get you distracted with his cock hitting just the right place inside of you, and when you’re so gone you can barely do anything but whimper and moan, he’d take the opportunity to slide his fingers down your arms to join your hands together gently. he’d let go afterwards and if you ask him he’d probably pretend it never happened, but in the moment his heart would be soaring when he finally gets to lock hands with you
9 - seungcheol
he would like holding hands but only during softer sessions where he’s taking his time and really wants to feel connected to you. the times when you’re not being soft, his hands are too busy being preoccupied elsewhere on your body for him to even think about holding yours. but i guarantee he’ll hold them constantly once you’re done for the night and all cleaned up, he’ll have his arms wrapped around you and his hands entwined with yours until you fall fast asleep
10 - wonwoo
9 times out of 10 he’s got your hands tied up so it would be kinda hard to hold them in that position. but that 10th time he would be squeezing your hands so hard his knuckles turn white and pressing your hands into the mattress with all his weight
11 - seungkwan
he would like it on occasion but he strikes me as the kind of guy who wouldn’t like having sweaty hands so he wouldn’t do it too often because it’s just too sticky for him sometimes. but you know what he does strike me as? the kind of guy who really likes pulling on your hair. so if his hands are anywhere, that’s probably where they’d be
12 - woozi
honestly i don’t think he would even notice where his hands are. he gets so caught up in the moment and everything else happening that he can’t feel anything except your pussy squeezing his cock. he loses track of time and he probably doesn’t even know what year it is anymore. if he’s holding your hand then it’s not from a conscious effort on his part
13 - vernon
he likes holding hands because it makes him feel closer to you, but honestly he wouldn’t be mad if you didn’t hold his hand. if it happens, it happens, if it doesn’t, it doesn’t, he’s not mad either way. genuinely he doesn’t care where his hands are as long as he’s inside of you

open road promises
Tumblr media
── based on love in the little things, but can be read on its own.
seungcheol x reader, established relationship, fluff, 578 words
Tumblr media
the day had been a whirlwind — of emotions, of activities and homecooked meals, of inquisitive questioning. though you had met seungcheol's parents and brother before, today was your first time meeting his extended family. the moment you entered their living room, you felt like the epicenter of an adoring hurricane. right after greeting his mom with a hug, two of his aunts were already pulling you to the side with excitement. it wasn't long before laughter filled the air, as each cousin eagerly shared with you some anecdotes from when they were growing up with your boyfriend. the whole time they were exchanging stories, they were also showering you with attention; they asked about your life, your family, your dreams, and of course, your plans with seungcheol.
amidst the chaos of questions and well-meaning advice, you stole knowing glances at your boyfriend, your eyes speaking of shared amusement and exhaustion. his family's love for him was undeniable and it translated into an overwhelming desire to ensure his happiness with you.
"so," one of his aunts chimed in, "when do we get to see the wedding?"
you could feel your face heat up at the sudden question, quickly hiding it with a chuckle. "don't worry, we'll let everyone know when we're ready." you said.
another aunt of his leaned closer to you and whispered, "don't wait too long, dear." there was a mischievous glint in her eyes. "our seungcheol can be quite impatient."
despite the feeling of being examined under the microscope and the inevitable awkwardness—that seungcheol was always quick to rescue you from—you couldn't help but appreciate their love for each other. they're a big family, but from the teasing to the laughter, warmth radiated from everyone in the room. a true attestation of the genuine care and endearment they have for one another, and now by extension, to you.
by the time you left, drained yet touched by the whole experience, the car ride home felt like a quiet oasis. it was only the hum of the car's engine blended with the soft tune of whatever's playing on the radio that filled the air; a soothing backdrop to the exhaustion both of you felt. when you looked out the window, the world was bathed in the gentle glow of twilight, a stark contrast to the affection onslaught that ensued earlier.
you felt seungcheol reach out to hold your hand, his fingers intertwining with yours. he turned his head slightly to glance at you, his eyes still fixed on the road, that familiar spark of affection shimmered within them. you already knew there was something he wanted to say.
"what is it?" you asked.
"i'm really gonna marry you someday, you know?" he said, his voice was soft like a lullaby but it was firm as if he had already made up his mind.
your heartbeat sped up, the weight of his words settling into your soul. sure, you had talked about marriage on countless occasions, but that doesn't mean the mere mention of it makes you any less giddy. despite your fatigue, a smile tugged at your lips, "is that a threat?" you teased.
his own smile, the one that could melt all of your worries away, graced his face. in that moment, the weariness of the day dissolved into the shared warmth of your dreams and your future, driving onward together into the quiet, comforting embrace of the night.
"it's a promise," he said.

seungcheol would it be surprising if he was your biggest supporter? ahh, he is so proud of you, he watches you with stars in your eyes and tells you how proud he is in the backstage.
jeonghan makes you wear a hair clip with his name on it. actually, it's an inside joke because you made him wear the exact same hair clip with yours on it. he thinks you are so cute with it.
jisoo takes so much pictures of you. then when he shows them to you he keeps telling you how beautiful you are. also brought you a cute plushie that you took on stage as emotional support.
junhui knows your flanchant by heart and will be dedicated to it. he sings it while moving his lightstick as he records you dancing.
soonyoung is literally be so hyped oh my . . . he has been waiting for the day he'll attend one of your concerts for decades. he loves your music so much, he even learnt every single dance.
wonwoo has all the accessories he can find. hear me out, he wants to show you his support at all coast, lightstick, bracelets, t-shirt, banner. he'd look so stupid ahh, what a cutie.
jihoon gets shy when you thank him infront of everyone. to be frank, he has never hid the fact that he loved your music and his support to you. but he still blushes when you show attention in public.
minghao is mesmerized by you. his eyes would literally follow every single one of your mouvement. he watches you through the whole concert with a love-sick expression on his face and bops his head to the beat.
mingyu the most proud in the entire world, he didn't shut up about your concert ever since it was announced. this cutie even brought food with him in case you where hungry.
seokmin, this guy dear god. he steals the spotlight, quite literally. it's as if it's his concert, he hits every single high note. of course, he is really supportive and his cheeks hurts because of the fact he is smiling too widely.
seungkwan does the same as when he attended seventeen's concert during his hiatus. he would be discreet about it so people can only focus on you and post it on weverse later.
hansol loves music you know, he would even tell carats to listen to your newest album. he records the concert and posts it on his story.
chan is your biggest hype boy. he dances and moves throughout the whole concert, you even tell the cameras to focus on him while he dances to your verse. he has the banners and the lightstick too, of course he does.

seungcheol always looked forward to coming home after a long day. after all, what could be better than changing into his comfiest clothes, falling straight into bed, and cuddling with you to fall asleep?
since his work ended so late, by the time he'd get home, he'd be greeted with the usual sight of you already fast asleep in bed, clutching a camel plushie (it reminds me of you, cheolie! , you always said, smiling softly).
and no matter how hard he tried to keep you from stirring awake, he always seemed to know exactly when he even lifted the covers.
today, he had thought he was in the clear. he tiptoed into the room, his steps hushed in an attempt not to disturb your peaceful slumber. the dim light from the hallway spilled softly into the room, revealing the silhouette of your sleeping figure beneath the cozy blanket. carefully, he had untangled your hands from the tight grip they had on the camel plushie before slotting himself in that space. you had stirred a bit at the close proximity to another figure next to you but after pausing for a second, fell back into your usual slumber. slowly reaching across your waist, he attempted to pull you closer into him.
he quietly sighed in relief, thinking he had succeeded in his mission to slip into bed unnoticed.
however, a sleepy murmur escaped your lips as they blinked away the remnants of dreams, their eyes adjusting to the subtle glow of the room.
"cheolie?" you mumbled, voice drowsy yet filled with warmth. "Is that you?"
seungcheol winced, caught in the act. "yeah, it's me," he whispered, his fingers gently finding their way to intertwine with yours. "sorry, did i wake you up?"
a soft chuckle escaped your lips, and you shook your head. "no, just checking if my imagination was playing tricks on me. what time is it?"
he glanced at the clock on the nightstand, "a little past 1 am. i swear, i really tried to be quiet this time, but you're like a human radar for my presence."
you laughed softly, the sound twinkling in his ears. "you know I always notice when you come in late. how was your night?"
seungcheol sighed, the tension of the outside world melting away as he settled into the warmth of your shared space. "long. busy day. but being here makes it better."
you lifted your hand to brush his hair out of his eyes, before shifting over slightly to leave a soft kiss on his cheek, a silent reassurance that you were glad he was home. "i'm happy you're home baby. let's just go to sleep and get some rest. we can talk more in the morning, okay?"
he obliged, drawing you in with his arm wrapped around your hip, his fingers drawing figures absentmindedly along your side. the room fell into a comfortable silence, the only sound being your soft breaths, slowly rising and falling before syncing with his. in the stillness of the night, seungcheol couldn't help but feel grateful for these moments — the quiet exchanges, the warmth of your bed, and the simple pleasure of coming home to someone who made everything feel right.
as sleep gradually reclaimed you, seungcheol pressed a tender kiss to your forehead and murmured "goodnight baby." before letting sleep overtake him to his dreams to meet you again.

authors note. inspired by the fact that a) i love gamer bf things b) i love wonwoo c) i’m a loser d) im a loser who plays ow and i had an encounter with another wonwoorideul while playing ow.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
gamer bf!wonwoo who lets you use his gaming set up, having a separate account. he knows you use it for academic stuff or to watch youtube and whatever. he knows that you like all the shiny details like keyboard emiting rainbow lights when you touch a key. or the cute hamster commuter mouse he bought you (and sometimes uses it too when he’s too lazy to switch to his professional gaming mouse)
gamer bf!wonwoo who buys the games he thinks you’d like. if you don’t — it’s not like he’s poor, right? he usually ends up playing the games eitherway...
gamer bf!wonwoo who loves explaining and showing you how the games work. either the ones he bought for you or the ones he plays. and you genuinely love to listen and try the games, especially when his large and warm hands are atop yours and guide you <3
gamer bf! wonwoo who – maybe in a cheesy manner – says that you’re his good luck charm. not that we wins only when you’re here because he is a good player but it brings him more joy when you’re around. even if you’re just absentmindedly scrolling on insta while on his lap.
gamer bf! wonwoo who once entered his room and saw you playing one of the games he plays. and… you were rocking. and enjoying yourself. wonwoo was shocked, to say at least, but also proud. and happy!!
you mumble shyly and explain that you started playing the game because of him, it seemed fun and you wanted to surprise him… and you didn’t notice that he didn’t log off
and gamer bf!wonwoo couldn’t be more happy that you can share hobbies, he loves playing with you 🥹 he buys another pc set up eventually, letting you pick all the color themes and accessories you want hehe
gamer bf! wonwoo who doesn’t hesitate to jump on vc when someone is insulting you … even nasty 12yos are scared of his deep voice hehe~~
and gamer bf! wonwoo who cheers on you when you have a kill streak or play of the game… he’s all over you, pecking your face while you’re giggling and squirming because you can’t see your screen >_<
gamer bf! wonwoo who spoils you with capital S. that man will not take no as an answer when he knows there’s a pretty skin for your fav character!! buys you battle passes, coins, accessories… whatever you want!! will also be a sucker for matching things, like key chains with signature weapons of your fav characters or matching pfps with game characters that players ship hehe
you and your gamer bf! wonwoo who may be a loser but still loves you the most — and will even sacrific his sleep schedule do pull an all-nighter and play games with you <3

birthday kisses - choi seungcheol
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
paring: seungcheol x gn!reader
warnings: kissing, established relationship, fluff
wordcount: 500
Tumblr media
seungcheol wanted to surprise you, it was your birthday after all. he planned everything; like taking you to this new restaurant you’ve been telling him about for weeks now. he even bought you a gift, something he’s wanted to get you for a while now and he thought your birthday would be the perfect time to give it to you. you wear your cutest and prettiest outfit and get ready to go, all happy and excited.
when you both get back home it’s late. you’re in the bedroom in front of the vanity, removing your jewellery as seungcheol comes up to you, his hands wrapping around your waist as he leaves a soft kiss on your temple.
“i have another gift for you baby”, he says, looking at you in the mirror. you give him an amused look through the mirror before turning around to face him. “there’s more?”, you ask, surprised. he’d been giving you gifts throughout the day so you really thought that the pretty ring he gifted you was the last one.
“you deserve the moon baby, i’ll get that for you one day too”, he says, giving you a wink, making you chuckle at his silly words.
“what’s this gift now?”, you ask, resting your hands on his shoulders. he smiles down at you as you look up at him in anticipation. "saved the best one for last", he tells, looking at you with a glint in his eyes, his dimple peeking out. "what is it?", you ask, curious.
“kisses”, is all he says and you don’t even have time to tell him anything else before he’s kissing your cheek and soon you’re being attacked by his soft kisses all over your face. “cheol!”, you tell, laughing. but your words go unheard as he finally kisses your lips, knocking the air out of you. he always kissed you breathlessly. his lips move against yours and he pulls you closer against him as you tangle your fingers in his hair. he pulls away, looks at you and kisses you again and again and again.
“seungcheol!”, you tell against his lips, giggling. “i think that’s enough”, you add, looking at him. “oh no, baby, we’re not done. you’ve only gotten ten kisses", he says, looking at you seriously. you just stare back at him. “counting now are we?”, you ask, amused.
“you’re getting as many kisses as you’re turning today baby, he adds, capturing your lips again and kissing you sweetly. “hm that’s eleven now”, you whisper against his lips. "happy birthday", he says sweetly as he kisses you again.
and by the time you’ve gotten all your kisses, you’re a happy, giddy mess.

[23.35pm] Soft Jeonghan!x f.reader.(requested!)
"Why don't you come here and see?" you furrowed looking at your boyfriend Jeonghan who was hiding something under the blanket.
"Really? I really have to finish this essay!" you groaned staring at your laptop screen. But you really wanted to see what jeonghan was hiding under the blanket. You swore you saw him ruffling his hands under the comfy and hid something when you mentioned the stuff a moment ago.
"But sweetie, there's nothing. Keep writing that piece of essay of yours." he sweet-talked. You pouted. Now that was sus. No way jeonghan would be that sweet without any reason.
"Why are you so sweet all of a sudden huh?hiding something under-" you muttered playfully walking up to the bed. Your hands reached and was about to tug the blanket when his strong hands gripped around yours. Tugging you rather onto the bed under the blanket. You almost laughed out feeling tickled.
"Ugh!hannie!what are you doing!I still have pages to type!" you whined as he wrapped his arms around your waist under the blanket.
"It's time for you to sleep! You are already working too hard!" he mumbled patting your head.
"But I really need to-" you tried to wiggle out of his grip but his strong arms put you on your place, safe between his arms.
"No buts, darling. It's just an essay! You're getting too hard on yourself.." he cooed looking into your eyes seriously. He has been watching you typing that stuff almost for three hours and he had had enough.
You hummed,"you really care about me a lot, dont you hannie?" You asked pecking his lips.
"Not really. The last thing I want is to get you dark circles under your eyes you know?Like a panda chewing bamboos sitting in front of a laptop and typing so-Ouch!" you punched his arm playfully,
"Dont you dare!I hate you so much!" you whined childishly hiding your face in his chest.
"I love you too sweetie."

first ever fic! my man needs to calm down with all these bf pics cause it’s actually driving me insane

being an art student is not easy. from the intensive workload to having to satisfy your inner perfectionist, you’re bound to be tired, and today was one of those days. you made it to the comfort of your home and decided to take a long shower to organise your thoughts while also reviewing your day, silently giving a pat to yourself for making it through the day. you were so out of it that you didn’t notice the sound of the door to your bedroom clicking, and also the footsteps waddling in.
“hey babe! i got this claw clip that i think you’d li- oh jesus, how long have you been in the shower?” the familiar husky voice brought you back to reality and it made you notice that you’ve been stuck in the shower for a good half an hour, your fingertips getting all wrinkly. you look around, and you see that the bathroom is clouded from the vapour of your hot shower. your vision brings you to the door, and you see a tall figure leaning against the doorframe. it was your boyfriend, mingyu staring at you with the purest look of admiration you’ve ever seen.
it’s hard to not notice him when he’s in the midst of the crowds. he’s tall, has a gorgeous honey like skin accompanied by his gorgeous husky voice- you were down bad, heck, you’re so smitten by him that he finds it adorable that you still get nervous with him despite being together for 2 years. you often wonder how you must’ve saved a whole nation in your past life to deserve a partner like him.
“c’mon, let’s get you out of this hellhole. i don’t want my precious darling to look like a wrinkly raisin before we turn gray,” he smiles as he grabs a large towel to wrap it around your body, letting the soft material hug you while mingyu attempts to dry you. you whine at the loss of heat from the hot water, but all mingyu does is flash his toothy grin at you and gives a quick peck on your forehead, making all of your frustrations disappear.
it was almost 7pm and you were starving.  mingyu had to take an urgent phone call, so you had to take over kitchen duty momentarily. he knew you were tired so he opted for takeout, but you were craving a homecooked meal that is warm and hearty. you start preparing the ingredients to make soup noodles, a dish that your mom makes whenever she drops by you and mingyu’s place to check up on you guys. luckily, the recipe was pretty simple, so you made yourself busy by preparing dinner to fill in the absence of mingyu.
you were focused on preparing the soup until you felt a strong and sturdy pair of arms wrap around your waist. “have i told you that i love you so much?” he murmurs into your neck, peppering kisses in between his sentence. “you’re so dramatic, gyu. your mother really wasn’t joking when she told me the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, huh?” you giggled. you could feel the vibration coming from his chest as he let out a chuckle. your heart was swelling with so much adoration for this man.
“i mean, she’s partially right!” he gleamed, letting go of his grip from your waist to turn you around so that you’re facing him. he cups your cheeks, forcing you to make eye contact with his honey glazed eyes.
“it’s not only through the stomach, it’s because of you,” he wiggles his eyebrows, making you both burst out in laughter. “god, you’re so cheesy” you muttered while shaking your head, resuming to cooking dinner. mingyu was a little upset that you dismissed his pick-up line (which he was so proud of since he thought that it was a really smooth one) but helps you out in preparing dinner for you two anyways.
mingyu insists on setting up the table for dinner, and you let him. it was nice that he was willing to help you out without you even asking to, and you’re so thankful for him. as you brought out the dishes you both made, you notice that mingyu set up the cutleries a little differently today. rather than your usual seating, he placed both of your cutleries next to each other with only one chair to be seen. you shrugged it off, thinking that he was still in the process of setting things up.
“gyu! dinner’s ready! could you help me get an extra chair? there’s only one here,” you stood there, waiting for your boyfriend to answer. mingyu appeared, and you could see that mischevious glint in his eyes when he heard you bring up this minor ‘inconvenience’ at the dining table.
“you can sit on my lap.” he said it cockily, leaving you confused. of course, you don’t mind sitting on his lap, but having a meal while sitting on his lap might be uncomfortable, not to mention that sitting on his lap for such a long period of time could leave his thighs with pins and needles.
he sees you contemplating your choices, so he goes on to his next tactic: be super clingy. “please, bub?” he pouts, “just today, pretty please? i haven’t been seeing your pretty face lately cause you’ve been cooped up in your room working on assignments” he wraps his arms around yours. it feels like you’re trying to convince a toddler to head back home after playing in the park but they refuse to.
“alright, alright, whatever makes gyu happy, okay?” you both laugh as mingyu happily seats on the chair and invites you onto his lap almost immediately.
“guy, why aren’t you eating?” you question, noticing that mingyu has not touched the bowl of noodles in front of him. “is everything alright? did i burn the soup? maybe i -” he pecks your cheek. “it’s fine, darling. it’s just..” you raise your eyebrow, wondering what he’s gonna say next.
he continues, “you kinda broke my heart a little when you didn’t react to my pick-up line earlier” he muttered, pulling you closer to him, “and i think the only fair deal for you to make up for it is to feed me!” he gleams at you.
“you really went all out just to get back at me for this?” you chuckled, putting down your cutleries to cup his cheek as you looked at him. “yup,” he said, popping the p, “and i won’t be taking no as an answer” he smirked, leaving you two erupting in laughter at this silly moment.
“okay my prince, you had a really smooth pick-up line there just now. here comes your first bite! say ahh” you pretended to feed him like how you’d feed your toddler niece, and he willingly takes a bite and hums in satisfaction.
“did i tell you that you’re amazing?” mingyu said while pulling you closer to him to the point where you could feel the rapid moment of his heartbeat from his chest.
“maybe a few times, i guess. care to remind me?”

Wonwoo and Y/N had been dating for a few months now, and they were both eager to make new memories together. Tonight, they decided to go to a drive-in movie theater, something neither of them had experienced before. It was a warm summer evening, and the anticipation of the night ahead filled the car with excitement.
As they approached the drive-in, the neon sign flickered to life, casting a colorful glow over the area. The gravel crunched beneath the tires as they found their spot, nestled between rows of cars, each facing the large outdoor screen.
Y/N couldn't contain her excitement. "I've always wanted to do this," she said, turning to Wonwoo with a wide grin.
He smiled back, his eyes holding a hint of amusement. "I can tell. You look like a kid in a candy store."
She playfully nudged him, causing both of them to laugh. "Well, I've heard drive-ins are a classic American experience. I wanted to make sure I didn't miss out on it."
Wonwoo nodded in agreement. "It's one of those things that never goes out of style."
With the car engine off and the windows down, they settled into their seats, ready for the show to begin. The screen flickered to life, and the opening credits of the movie rolled. The atmosphere was different from a regular theater; it was more intimate, like they had their own private cinema under the starry sky.
Wonwoo reached over to take Y/N's hand, their fingers entwining naturally. She leaned her head on his shoulder as the movie started. It was a romantic comedy, the kind Y/N secretly loved, and Wonwoo knew it.
As the plot unfolded on the screen, Wonwoo couldn't help but steal glances at Y/N. Her eyes were fixed on the movie, but there was a soft smile on her lips, and her face occasionally lit up with laughter at the witty dialogues and humorous situations. Wonwoo found himself getting lost in the way her hair danced in the breeze, the softness of her laughter, and the warmth of her hand in his.
During one particularly heartwarming scene, Y/N turned to Wonwoo, her eyes shimmering with emotion. "This is so lovely, Wonwoo," she whispered.
He squeezed her hand gently. "Just like you."
She blushed at his words, and he couldn't resist leaning in to kiss her cheek. The moment was sweet and tender, the kind that made their hearts race just a little bit faster.
As the movie progressed, the night air grew cooler, and Wonwoo reached into the backseat to grab a blanket he had brought along. He draped it over Y/N's shoulders, tucking it snugly around her. She smiled up at him, grateful for his thoughtfulness.
The movie neared its climax, and so did the evening. The tension in the plot mirrored the feelings bubbling between Wonwoo and Y/N. They shared stolen glances, their fingers intertwined tightly, neither wanting to break the spell of the moment.
Finally, as the credits rolled and the screen went dark, Y/N turned to Wonwoo with a contented sigh. "That was amazing," she said.
Wonwoo nodded, his gaze fixed on her. "It was."
Their faces drew closer, and they shared a sweet, lingering kiss. It was the kind of kiss that spoke of shared moments and unspoken promises. The kind of kiss that made them both feel like they were on the brink of something beautiful.
As they leaned back into their seats, Wonwoo said, "This was a perfect night."
Y/N nestled her head on his shoulder again, her fingers tracing small patterns on the back of his hand. "It really was. Thanks for bringing me here, Wonwoo."
He kissed the top of her head. "Anytime, Y/N."
The drive-in movie had been a simple yet magical experience, one that had deepened the connection between them. Under the starry sky, with the soft hum of the car engine and the memory of the movie still fresh in their minds, they knew they had created a beautiful memory together. And as they sat there, hand in hand, they couldn't wait to create many more in the future.
