Helping Yacchi was actually the result of one of Makoto's trusted students being given Miaya's therapy research to finish/use. Shuichi was given one of the first models/prototypes as a gift.

Nothing will make you angrier about fast fashion than learning to sew. #1, people have zero appreciation for the time and labor it takes to make something ("How can you charge $35 for that?" uhhh because it took me two hours bro. Plus material costs. Trust me, I want people to be able to afford the things I make and if anything my prices are low!). #2, The shittiest cheapest material in the world does not change the calculation that those $20 pants were made with slave labor.

Some bright orange fleece beanies to donate!

I think the knit beanies look better and I suspect they are warmer, but the fleece beanies are way faster to make so I make both

I gave my mother my old sewing machine a few months ago and I've just realised what a huge mistake that was.

#she is incapable of figuring ANYTHING out on her own #I showed her everything. I even printed out the manual for her. #but she still can't figure any of it out #if I was capable of figuring out HER shitty sewing machine when I was like 15 and didn't have access to any online tutorials or even the #manual. then. maybe. you could try SOME of it on your own?! #(it's not that she's asking for help. asking for help is fine it's good I encourage it! it's that it's HER. and HOW she asks. like it's the #most difficult and awful thing anyone has ever had to do and like *I'm* being a huge burden by putting this on her. she's the victim and she #has to make everything seem sooo difficult. it's infuriating) #she's completely uncooperative and she gets really angry and ugh I just hate this #like. she tried to teach me how to knit when I was like. 6. and I got upset because I didn't get it immediately. and she is STILL mad about #that. maybe that provides some context for why this sucks so much. #ugh I cannot stand this woman. #personal

born too late to buy a sewing machine without a touch screen at 19 years old

#I don't trust that thing it looks incredibly breakable #I want a machine that is HEAVY and only has mechanical everything #the only light is the lamp #and it only has BUTTONS and SLIDERS to adjust stitch length #I want to lift and set the pressing foot down MANUALLY #other sewing people feel me? #sewing #I use a bernina 1008 . but if I move away I cannot keep it bc it belongs to my mom #I'm so sad abt it. that machine is so simple and lovely

it's been 2 horrible weeks but my cat is slowly recovering

#i was pretty sad and disappointed that the vets at the emergency clinic only operated on his legs and told me his mouth will heal on its own #when that wasn't the case since his jaw was dislocated it had to be put back in place #an easy non surgical procedure if done as soon as possible so it won't begin to heal in the wrong position #but they didn't #and it just didn't sit right with me #it felt weird when they told me it will heal on its own and it will remain moved to the left #so i took him to a specialised dentist surgeon who told me there's no way he would have started to eat again on its own like that #and my cat is lucky i came to see her now and not later since it's not too late to move the jaw back manually #but she did have to sew the joints together temporarily #and now he has two cute diamond buttons above his mouth #he's bejeweled
