I think this summarizes my issues with Jaime's character; it's not so much how he's written, I do think his character is interesting, but the way he's treated by fandom is insufferable. Male characters are always given more sympathy and grace than female characters and it's frustrating to see the difference in how he (and other male characters) is treated vs. Dany, Arya, Cat, Cersei, Brienne, Asha, Sansa, etc. Every bad thing he's ever done is twisted to become a result of Cersei "manipulating" him and she gets demonized, when she really deserves the sympathy that he gets. His "redemption arc" is a joke and I'm convinced the only reason people think he has one is because they've personally forgiven his actions 🥴

These are all vary good questions, and I have some theories

The reason I think Vox might be obsessed with Alastor, might be because Alastor was his mentor. Alastor and Vox are at least ten years apart in when they arrived in Hell and they may have become friends when they realized they both have similar powers and it probably boost Alastor’s ego to be a mentor figure. And that’s not just a loose guess, have you noticed that while other demons like Valentino, Angel, Velvet, and others may have some magic powers that might get used every once in a while, but Vox and Alastor use their powers every second of everyday?

Like how Vox uses his electric powers for something as mundane as just getting around a building and Alastor does the same but with his shadows, or Vox with his hypnosis powers or Alastor with his manifestation powers, they use their powers as often as they inhale and exhale, so it leads me to theorize that Alastor helped Vox exercise and unlock the potential of his powers, while other sinners don’t really seem to either have them or just not use them because they wouldn’t know what powers they might have because the sinners are vastly different from each other so it’s hard to find one similar enough to you to get a teacher. I have also noticed that they are the strength to each other’s weaknesses, one example Vox being annoyed and drained by dealing with the public and Alastor thriving on the attention in contrast.

Vox finds a kindred spirit in Alastor, and it’s probably why he isn’t bothered by his quirky or unhinged behavior enough to still want him to join his team in spite of Alastor not matching their vibe, Alastor would be a personal asset to Vox, not his team or even his brand, because out of all the clues I see I can’t find one where Alastor is an asset to either his team or his brand, he would only benefit Vox, but Alastor probably had more deal breakers then pros in their relationship.

I don’t 100% know if he wants Alastor sexually (I am leaning towards yes though). I do 100% believe HE WANTS alastor, romantically? Maybe, but a crush or infatuation isnt really the same as romantic feelings. But he vary much wants Alastor, I do think part of the reason for his big reaction in stayed gone was because he can’t have Alastor. And yes, I do think his obsession over Alastor vary much mirrors Val’s obsession over angel. Vox is just a lot more subtle, it’s not even about sex or romance it’s about wanting to obtain.

Neither of them can think about it too long either way bc it makes their brains shut down). They’re blood-brothers, they think of each other like that, they call each other that except. Taking physical comfort from each other is also a thing, because that’s what they’ve been doing all their lives, because there’s always been just them, and it’s all they ever had. They kiss and sleep together, bare skin pressed against bare skin because it’s always been like this, and it doesn’t feel the same with anyone else (mostly on Ace’s side, because he did try — with barmaids, waitresses, men in shady bars, because he felt responsible for Luffy’s upbringing and well-being and it felt like an older sibling thing to set and maintain appropriate boundaries. But nothing ever compared to Luffy, even in the slightest). Both of them having to play so many social roles they kind of start blending into one another (because again, there was never really anyone around long enough to fill them in for them) - bc yeah they’re siblings, but. They’re also friends except it goes way beyond that. Ace, as the older one, has been Luffy’s caretaker too, he had to think and plan ahead for them both. But there were times when Ace was hurt they the caretaking role became reversed and Luffy had to take on all the responsibilities, until Ace recovered. Obviously none of it is how a healthy sibling relationship should look like, but god, I’m just soooo weak for the developing co-dependency, especially in scenarios where clearly unhealthy/potentially harmful behavior becomes a source of physical/emotional comfort (and tbh I’m pretty sure it also translates well into in-canon Ace/Lu because they didn’t really have anyone else either, for a couple of years in their lives. And Luffy needs social interaction like he needs food and sleep).

Oh man, anon, I was shipping and reading smut for Wincest like WILD back in the day, so. This AU is perfect. I'm eating up all the details of it just being the two of them, and a car, and a map. oh, my god, this got long:

best season: i'll go with season 2 despite the eventual devastation. because lets face it, their lives are always a mess. but in s2, sam's grief over jess has lessened, and i think he'd finally be ready to reconcile his feelings for his sister. almost losing her in the truck accident and losing john is a lot for him to handle – and we know sam is an internalizer; despite deanna's unwillingness to discuss things, she certainly wears her heart on her sleeve – but sex is something that can happen without words.

i think the conception sex happens after 2x04 children shouldnt play with dead things. deanna finally admits she's having trouble dealing with john's death – that she feels it's her fault, even – and apologizes for her recent behavior. and then follows it up with:

[...]You're the most important people in my life. And now … I never should've come back, Sam. It wasn't natural. And now look what's come of it. I was dead. And I should have stayed dead. You wanted to know how I was feeling. Well, that's it. So tell me. What could you possibly say to make that all right?

oh boy that is a prime lead-in to some in the backseat of the impala lovemaking. no time to bother with a condom. they want to feel each other. a couple months later, it's obvious that deanna's pregnant. and tbh, i think her first instinct would be to get rid of it. (side note: it is my personal hc that john and/or others have knocked her up in the past, and she's gotten rid of it every time. it's the most practical thing to do for a hunter. otherwise you end up with situations like john's or the harvelles). but this is sam's baby. and sam's having visions. deanna's rattling around john's "save sam or kill him" instructions in her brain. playthings happens, and deanna is more sure of her brother being it for her than ever (side note – every ask if they're a couple this season gets even better with dee's pregnant belly in the way).

and sam...sam quietly doesn't argue when deanna wants to keep it, because he's scared of what's to come, and wants deanna to have a peace of him when he's gone.

(another side note: what is and what never should be fully includes a domestic fantasy for deanna in this 'verse).

ahbl is devastating of course, but oh god the wack morality of deanna deciding the deal is worth it because now sam will have a peace of deanna with him when she goes to hell. she convinces herself she's doing it for them both.

them having a child would have s3 play out totally differently, imo. sam wouldn't trust ruby so blindly (possibly going so far as to kill her, become king of hell to save deanna and their child). not that sam doesn't fiercely care for dean in canon, as that's his driving force for his actions in s3, but with a kid on the line? they can't do anything for themselves and they need their mom!! sam's mother is his biggest blank in his life, and he doesn't want [child] to have that too. especially because they both would have died to a deal to save their loved one (not that sam knows that yet).

worse: obvious answer is halfway through s3, because the child would not survive the season finale, and lilith would fully taunt sam over this, driving sam even deeper into his demon blood revenge mission. the wedge in the beginning of s5 drives even deeper because they have this unspoken thing between them, and deanna can't hide her emotions but neither will talk about them.

BUT! i think s6 provides another interesting answer. soulless sam knocking up his sister? he has no qualms about fucking raw, and she can just abort it if she gets pregnant! oh, she wants to keep it? fine, her prerogative. he has other things to take care of. this, i think, is devastating for deanna. and OH GOD, when sam comes back. sam's lack of autonomy is already a very sad and very fascinating theme throughout spn, and look what his body did without his knowledge. he's overjoyed for a child with deanna i think, but constantly grappling with the implications.

track 1 is a horny song about wanting someone to devote themselves to you in the way that you have already done for them. images of a medieval king riding a porche into a downtrodden village in the middle of the night to meet someone was such a vision for this song. directly inspired by link up by tinashe. 

track 2 is me learning how to harmonize in my own way, this is quite literally about my ex-boyfriend and how being a forgiving person can sometimes put you in a worse situation. inspired by charli xcx and the song gory love by casablancas. 

track 3 is something i kind of wrote for my best friend, we both feel similarly about entering relationships and how we are always waiting to be tricked. inspired loosely by hyperpop, the idea of a hi hat being mischievous, build a bitch by bella poarch bass and i love a heavy bass drop. track 4 is quite literally about having sex with a werewolf. allowing yourself to open up sexually. learning how to hold control and how to give it as well. inspired by truffle butter by nicki minaj, in my pocket by mandy moore and probably fanfiction. 

track 5 is literally another horny song. when you’ve had a taste of someone and you literally can’t think about anything else but getting another. sonically this is  like me trying to mix hyperpop clanging and mechanical sounds with something by the band spoon. hence the bass guitar and the organic hand claps. the organic with the mechanic.  track 6 is a major diss track to LA and the guy i dated at the beginning of the year. track 5 is also about him lmao, he clearly ruffled my feathers. i say some not so nice things on this track but they’re also the truth so do with that what you will. majorly inspired by blink182 with guitars and the vocals and big sean for lyrical content and feeling like hot shit vibes. 

track 7 is my cinematic jammm. this song is about making a pledge to stay alive no matter what anyone does to you. losing hope and getting to your rock bottom to realize you can climb out. you will not be stuck there. you actually refuse to be stuck there. sonically i’m not sure where this came from but those horns are supposed to sound like a medieval firing squad. i knew i had something when i started getting those kick drums to glitch. 

track 8 is an anxiety attack. it’s crawling out of the pit of hell only to realize that you have to pick up a sword and start fighting for your life. it’s about realizing you’re stronger than you give yourself credit for. you’re also way stronger than that wimp ass ex-boyfriend of yours. inspired by every anxiety attack i’ve ever had but i think also 100 gecs??   track 9 is my demonic hip hop shit. this one is supposed to have a boss battle type energy to it, probably inspired by literal video games. It’s a lament on once being trapped and left alone, but here to stay. you can hear my producer tag clearly for the first time on this one, and it’s supposed to show that i’m not afraid of the dark anymore. 

track 10 is something i put my whole boy pussy into tbh. this is the most emotional track i think i’ve ever made and also the longest song i’ve ever made. this is my epic about betrayal and hating loving someone who constantly disappoints you. ethel cain’s music gave me the courage to make this track.

track 11 is my last statement and my diss track to anyone who thinks they can do or say whatever they want to me because they’ve deemed me attractive. i think i just got so sick of feeling misunderstood at the time and i talking to people who weren't treating me as a human (whether in a good or bad way) someone said it gives them fall out boy vibes but honestly i can’t even say who inspired it, maybe also capri songs by fka and ty dolla sign there are a bunch of different ways to read the album, i kinda also have a story behind the whole thing and some things i’ve envisioned (i’ve touched on some concepts in my promo art) but this is like--- the truth. this is the way and reason the songs were made and where i pulled from. i got to reference a lot of things i love on this album. it’s not perfect but it’s how i wanted.

Any recs where the heroine where reviewers on GR are like “god I couldn’t stand her she was a bitch”?

I'm pretty selective about reading GR reviews (because they annoy me... so much) but I think these have those comments for sure:

Kiss of a Demon King by Kresley Cole. Always and forever The Example. And like, does Sabine deceive and sexually torture Rydstrom? Yes. But her behavior does not top Lothaire's, and Lothaire is like, one of the most popular heroes in the series. She's also like, very confident about her appearance, and spoiled, and I imagine that affects things.

Neomi from Dark Needs at Night's Edge gets shit from IAD fans too. She's one of my favorite heroines ever; I have to think that a lot of the hate comes from her being a massive flirt who loves sex and is actually motivated to get out of the house she's trapped, tbh. Like, oh no!!! A woman being mildly self-centered!

No Good Duke Goes Unpunished by Sarah MacLean. I personally find Mara sympathetic (she fucks up, don't get me wrong, but I get why everything that happened... happened). But she's definitely MacLean's most hated heroine, mostly because she makes controversial decisions.

Melanthe from Laura Kinsale's For My Lady's Heart gets a lot of shit from readers for being cold and unfeeling... And it's like lmao dude she was given to an old guy in marriage as an actual child and targeted by a predator since then. She's political as hell and put walls up emotionally because she is so hurt. But yeah sure, I guess she's just a bitch.

I've been thinking about this book a lot lately, but Priest by Sierra Simone. I see Poppy, the heroine, being dragged down as like "shallow"--and the vast majority of the book is from the hero's POV, so that might affect things. But if you pay any attention to Poppy at all, she's got an internal life that's just as complex as Tyler's in many ways. She's also very conventionally hot, unabashedly sexual (flirts shamelessly with a Catholic priest even before he reciprocates lol), and was a stripper and didn't feel all this natural shame over it. Poppy owning her sexuality is a huge issue for readers, imo.

Similarly, a lot of readers of New Camelot are very dismissive of Greer and try to paint her as two-dimensional and whiny... compared to her two male lovers, of course, who are so deep and MUST truly just love each other, not Greer... It's both misogyny and a discomfort with the fact that a poly romance is in fact about a polyamorous triad, lol. And what I love about Greer is that she is a little frosty and removed, but her vulnerability is really revealed when she's alone with Ash and/or Embry. Like Poppy, she's very naturally sexual (and submissive) and she's not ashamed of it; she's very carnal. And she's also like, so good about expressing her emotion through sex? (The "IS HER PUSSY SWEETER THAN MINE???" rant at Embry is one of my favorite "oh wow they are really doing this" moments in a romance novel.)

I see a lot of people hating on Olivia from Olivia and the Masked Duke by Grace Callaway. Again, it's less her being a bitch and more her being a young woman who loves sex. I see a lot of "Oh, how could she be turned on by seeing the man she's into fucking another woman (before he even knows Livvy is an option for him)". Idk, because it's hot? There is soooo much kink-shaming in certain subsets of romance readership, gotta say. If it's not perfectly vanilla, they don't see it as "loving" lol.

Lol everyone hates on basically everyone outside of Valentine, the more strait-laced of the two heroes, in Alexis Hall's Something Fabulous. I think it's honestly such bullshit--like, yeah Valentine is not a bad man, but he is very closed off and self-centered in the novel's beginning. Also, it's an Alexis Hall romcom, everything is heightened and that means he has to go throoough it. Bonny is another hero, not a heroine; but he is very femme-coded in a way a lot of heroes in m/m books aren't, and it doesn't miss me that his more "straight-coded" counterpart gets a break where he doesn't. People get very uncomfortable with a lot of queer heroes in m/m romances who don't present as super masculine, or as fetishized hypertwinks. Bonny is lovely and funny and frivolous and flamboyant but he's also kinda bratty and not at all simpering.

People either act like the heroine of Sherry Thomas's Private Arrangements is a total cunt or an innocent totally wronged by her evil husband. There is no middle ground. When I'd argue that a point of the book is... middle ground.

Most Scarlett Peckham heroines get shit from readers, but especially the heroine of The Rakess (sex positive lady who has a fling with a kind single father widower architect) and The Earl I Ruined (flighty gossip who ruins the life of uptight dom earl, then decides to try to fix it).

People haaaate the heroines of Ruby Dixon's Sworn to the Shadow God (crime: being a kind of ditzy gamer girl who doesn't adjust to a parallel universe easily) and Wed to the Wild God (crime: is practical when the hero is a hedonistic airhead who needs her to think for him).

What a Rogue Desires by Caroline Linden has a heroine who grew up poor and has become a conwoman. Naturally, when she cons the rakish hero who was a total dick in the previous book, she is totally evil, I guess.

Roxanne from Lush Money by Angelina M. Lopex. Oh shit, she does all the stuff billionaire heroes do... Horrible...

Lol Florence from The Prince of Broadway by Joanna Shupe gets so much shit because she wants to run a casino and doesn't want to have babies. She's a total anachronism, apparently, all women wanted to stay home and have babies in the Gilded Age, nobody wanted otherwise.

TW: talking about sex, CSA, suicide, mentions of violence and suicide

Tbh really hate how everybody is extremely against minors being sexual. I do get that children shouldn't be looking at that kind of stuff, but that's the thing, children. Teenagers are curious, and the more they're exposed to the definition to kinks, to consent and what it means in practice, to different stuff that can help them deal with their hypersexuality, the more they're going to realize that it's okay, and they're not going to have to be met with an overwhelming amount of information when they're "legal" and find out, painfully, via experience, what sexual abuse is. You don't automatically become an adult when you turn 18 or 21. Adulthood is a mindset. There are tons of adults who act like toddlers in a negative way, and the only thing they know how to do is complain about how "nobody respects them."

I think people should have thought of cutting us off from sexual stuff and claim "we are a minor, too young to be looking at that kind of stuff", before we got raped when we were 4, and then 10. Before we formed a child alter who cries every single time they front, having flashbacks to phantom touches and penetration. Which brings up a good point of, teens and kids who are, in fact, exposed to sex and topics of consent, might realize they were sexually abused and ask for help. Or, might prevent it from happening entirely.

Teenagers and kids are hypersexual, deal with it. Both are curious and want to explore their body. By putting DNIs and sheltering them, nobody is doing them any good. There is a difference between experiencing healthy hypersexuality and learning what you like, how you like it, and what consent is, and being obsessive when it comes to sex. If anything, I think talking about it and normalizing it would help minors not only cope in ways that are healthy and under control, but lessen the amount of obsessiveness they might develop in the future due to all the "minors, minors, oh no, no sexy stuff for ya!" It's been confirmed that the stricter the parents of a child are, the more of a scapegoat that child becomes. The less freedom they give, the more they want to rebel and take it, and end up getting in difficult situations due to that. What makes anybody think it's going to be different with shielding them from sex?

But it is, in fact, fine to force kids into religion since they are a newborn. It is fine to make them talk about politics before they even hit puberty. It's fine to expose them to the horrors of the world, like violence on the news. We worry more about kids finding out about an enjoyable activity that is sex more than we worry about kids getting bullied and committing suicide. And sometimes, kids commit suicide because they were never taught what consent is, got raped, and couldn't reach out to anybody.

When our host was told that consent is an enthusiastic "yes," and if that "yes" is not a full "yes," it's considered rape, they argued the entire time that it was too strict. They still do.

It would have saved us so many mental health points if somebody just told us about consent and kinks. Instead, what we have now is shame for our desires, hypersexuality, when even though we've been raped, is normal for a teenager. It is you who demonized sex. It is you who is continuing to demonize sex despite talking about it in the best way possible by setting strict rules for minors and basically yelling at them, shoving it in their faces that their behavior is not "normal." News flash, yes, it is. The only thing it isn't is socially acceptable, and you are playing into that after talking about kinks like pure hypocrites.

Stop demonizing minors exploring their body and desires, jfc. Relax and grow up.

TGCF : ⭐⭐⭐

It does not have a single smut scene which is disappointing, especially considering the predecessor novel is MDZS. If you can ignore this detail, the plot is incredible and leaves you wondering, action scenes and all conflicts are really compelling. Do not expect tons of fluff, it's quite angsty tbh. [It has a happy ending!]

MDZS :⭐⭐⭐

Very abundant in smut and fluff, it is quite comforting in that regard. Wei Wuxian is a character that I just adore, well developed and dynamic. I personally felt Lan Wangji quite flat in comparison, which did not allow me to fully fall in love with Wangxian. Well balanced between angst and comfort. [It has a happy ending!]

ERHA :⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

BRO! How do I even begin with this gem... It has everything. It is not a suitable reading for everyone due to the amount of TW it contains, dark material, situations that make your hair stand on end. The plot is completely incredible, both protagonists are so well developed that it makes you want to cry, the entire universe which encompasses this novel is abundant and rich, and the number of twists and turns makes your head explode! The amount of angst is as big as the smut, yes. I cried my eyes out with this text. [It has a happy ending!]

YUWU :⭐⭐

Based on the same universe as ERHA, it's really exciting as you read along and 2HA aspects/ components start to appear. It is basically all angst, suffering and pain for the characters, fluff moments are almost non-existent, and there are maximum 3 scenes of smut (which, compared to ERHA is... nothing). In terms of action / world building / plot, it is exquisite, there is no mistake in that regard, and the construction of the characters is delicious. Don't expect the same kind of stuff as The Husky and His White Cat Shizun (disappointing when comparing both novels)... [It has a happy ending!]

The Two Tailed Fox Demon and His Taoist Priest Gong :⭐

Super short novel of pure smut, kinda bizarre tbh, there's no plot. It's extremely simple, a text created for light (and scandalous) reading. Surprisingly, I found that the smut is not that great... the scenes feel really rushed, without a good description of the context, or development of the situation (ironic because it is a sexy novel...?)

Introduction to Sex Education :⭐⭐⭐

A really hot/smut-dedicated novel. It has many TW that must be taken into account before reading, because the type of material is not for just any reader. It can hurt the sensibilities of many consumers.

SVSSS: ⭐

I didn't connect with this novel, at all. All the actions scenes feel extremely rushed, the plot is poorly developed in a lot of aspects, and the main CP... it makes me think SQQ is only with LBH out of pity, not because actual attraction. There are no transitions between one action and the other, and it makes a lot of things confusing. I love Luo, but disappointing [it has a happy ending!]

Till Death do us Part:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This novel is exquisite. For anyone who enjoys reading about politics, historical contexts, love, and lots of sex, this is a perfect read. There were many, many times I wanted to kill the Gong because of his toxicity... but when he realizes his mistakes and "leaves" his questionable behavior behind... IT MAKES YOU CRY SO MUCH???? The couple ends up living until they are both elderly in their 80s and die together of natural causes 😭😭😭😭😭

Living to Suffer: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I'm only giving it one star less because it's shorter than the sequel (Till Death do us Part ⬆️), and I needed so much more of them in this oneeee. Anyways, fully complies with the standards of the previous novel, and introduces us to the CP who, depending on what order you read both texts, take place in a different context (historically speaking). It contains a beautiful amount of smut BUT IT'S EXTREMELY ANGSTY AND FULL OF PAIN, FOR REAL. [BAD ENDING!!!]

The Bird and the Golden Cage:⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This novel is the definition of smut with plot!!! It's full of truly horny scenes and scenarios but at the same time there's a whole plot going with it. It makes it both fun and spicy to read, and I couldn't help but to fall in love with the shou. I did hate the gong through basically the entirety of the novel, and I only liked him at the end, but yeah, overall, really good!!
