actually tbh i think he's both?? like, in a general situation, he's pretty chill - in a normal setting, he's always on high-alert, overseeing the multiverse nonstop, responding to rifts & anomalies at the drop of a pin ... regressing is the one outlet he has to simply let all of those responsibilities go, even if it is just for 30 minutes

he's very particular in what his regression entails, tho. i think miguel likes a little bit of schedule in his life no matter what, so he has a loose outline of what he'll be doin for the day (like lunchtime is at 12pm, bedtime at 11pm, etc) & if that's messed up in any way he'll get super upset bc that's his routine & now it's broken >:( oh and god forbid a caregiver tries to alter his routine in any way, no matter how miniscule that change may be — miguel will be filing a very loud complaint, thank you very much!

Thank you kindly, I LOVE getting asks from you cause they are a perfect excuse for me to draw Cacofonix, and if there's one thing in this fandom I love drawing as much as Gaylois, it's Cacofonix. Here's a little comic inspired by your question since I can't help myself:

I can easily imagine Cacofonix on a big trip, having fun and indulging all of the opportunities and glamour of city life, making friends (lovers? possibly? 😳) easily, courtesy of his charismatic and pleasant demeanor (at least as long as he doesn't try to sing). People obviously aren't fans of his musical talent, or rather a lack thereof, but whenever a stranger happens to recognize him and call him by name he tends to immediately jump to that conclusion and brag about it to his fellow village folks, who clearly aren't buying it, lmao. Admittedly, at the end of the day, being appreciated and recognized for being entertaining, pretty and gay rather than for your art is not the worst position to be in, so he does take it for what it is, though not without a healthy dose of fussing about constantly, no matter where he goes, being "strangely surrounded by people who don't seem to understand art".

#a lot of your emotional impact comes not just from the words you use #but the cadence in which you construct #it’s not only what is being said by the characters but the rhythm you give to their actions #in the wider emotional landscape of the piece #like. im thinking specifically of smut rn since I’m struggling so hard w writing some shdhdjf but for that specific example it’s VERY MUCH #like music imo #there’s a particular kind of rhythm you notice in writing that’s obviously very new at that particular kind of subject matter #and depending on what the focus of that writing is gives the piece its rhythm #and I personally think u can draw a correlation between work that’s primarily intended to be titillating #and the seamlessness of the piece’s rhythm #it builds very often to a specific kind of crescendo both in pace and in subject matter lmao #wow I am nerding out about this shdhdjdjdjdm #tunes titters #not sfw
