Update: it's not a short Movie on Yt and its not called 'Daydream'💀. The name is 'A little Romance' and is a BL. I have literally no idea where I've got that info from but I'm not interested in any Romance story, so I'll skip it for now and watch 'nobody knows' instead.

Decided to watch K-drama of Shadow beauty instead of the manhwa. Although I skimmed the first chapter of manhwa. The bullying is worse in the manhwa

2 episodes are over and here are my thoughts and theories

The cinematography gives off the psychological vibes. It feels like there isn’t a happy ending

The bullied girl, fl, without the makeup and fancy outfits look better than the bullies

I think the idol trainee isn't the stalker. It may not be a boy too. I think her online bff and the stalker are the same person

I HIGHLY recommend the relatively short drama Shadow Beauty, at least from the 6/13 episodes I’ve seen. I started watching because it has short episodes and I wanted something to watch casually before bed but god, I think it might be one of my all time favorite shows?

Don’t listen to the tumblr tag’s obsession with the two male leads; they’re by far the weakest element of this show. The central relationship is the pulsing, grotesque thread between Ae Jin and her bully Ha Neul. To be honest I think this is what the people who liked Inspector Koo were feeling- finally, insane, pathetic wet GIRLS! Girls complicated enough to be fascinating! Girls who bite and scream and speechify! The best part is even though from an outside view everyone’s actions are objectively immoral and insane, when they’re wrapped in the perspective of either female lead they feel almost inevitable, with all the desperate, blinding furor that marks being a teenager. I love it!!!

The main thing that would make this show better is stronger actors for the boys (ESPECIALLY for Ho In, you can really tell how weak the actor is compared to the role), but I don’t think that’s the point of them. Even from just the editing and camera work you can tell they’re shoved in there to attract horny viewers, and hey from the tag it worked!! However if you’re at all interested in the strange, poignant story the rest of the show is trying to tell, the flip from internal psychological thriller to “who do YOU ship her with 🥰” is jarring. I suggest fast forwarding at your discretion. I haven’t been for the sake of giving them a chance, and every time I don’t I regret it.
