shang-chi as a dad
Tumblr media
a/n: i told y'all the shang-chi brainrot was strong this week. also i start writing this i just posted electric love and i found a gif that would've worked way better and now i'm sad
as always i like to start with how he'd be during pregnancy and let me tell y'all
i know i say this like every time but he'd be the best person to be around when you're pregnant
saying that he'd wait on you hand and foot doesn't feel right because i feel like he'd do more
he has no complaints about getting up at like 3 in the morning to get you a very specific debby cake that they only sell at the corner store across town
he remembers all the teas and stuff his mom drank when she was pregnant with xialing so he'll make some for you whenever you need it
and even tho he has absolutely no idea how to assemble furniture because he bought his all premade, he puts up the crib and the playpen once you get too far along in your pregnancy to bend down and such
there were definitely moments where he thought that he wouldn't be a good father because he didn't really have a good father
but you were always there to reassure him that he would do his best at being a father, and that no one was truly perfect
he's had the hospital bag packed since you were like 6 months so when it's time to go y'all are fully prepared
like i said he wants this to be as unstressful as it could be
he definitely cries when y'alls baby is born
he didn't believe that he could bring something so beautiful in the world he totally could have y'all seen this man
the two of you take turns waking up at night to care for the baby
and on his nights and nights where you're in such a deep sleep the baby's cries didn't wake you up, he'd go in there, feed and change them, and tell them stories to help them fall asleep
even tho him and his father don't have the best relationship, he'd still tell his child his father's story because he grew up hearing it and it's a big part of his story as well
you loved taking pictures of him holding the baby because it doesn't matter how old the baby gets, he'll always hold it like it's the first baby he's ever held
xialing will always visit whenever she gets the chance because she would absolutely adore her little niece/nephew
she is the hot rich auntie and i could be her housewife
when the baby is older he'll take the two of you to the compound where he and xialing grew up
because let's be honest that view is fucking amazing
and shang-chi is definitely the type to want to share his home and culture with you and your child (and if you have a distinct culture you'll do the same as well)
so also expect lessons between shang-chi and your child where he teaches them a bunch of cultural dishes
and once again this is a moment where you just have to get a photo because it's so adorable
all in all he is a great father and he deserves the world

i’ll always find (see) you (n.s)
summary ⇾ after a training gone sour, lo’ak knows who to find in order to keep his brother in check. details ⇾ 2,299 words / neteyam sully x na’vi!reader / 🌸 comfort fluff / established relationship / gn!reader  notes ⇾ i know i’ve been m.i.a lately but... i’ve been inspired to write for avatar so... here it is! ✨
Tumblr media
the flora and fauna that surrounds you is what makes you think this–the mixes of pink, blue and green–must be heaven on earth. the fireflies that float about, sounds of kiri’s fascination as she occasionally lures one or two butterflies over your wandering eyes; the two of you laying side by side on the grass, staring ahead at the cocooning trees.
until a branch snapping cues the two of you to be on alert. you sit up, leaning partially to shield kiri as your hands fetch the dagger slotted by your ankle; kiri baring her fangs with a hand on your shoulder, squeezing it out of instinct.
the both of you visibly relax when–”couldn’t you just announce your presence like any normal being?” you scoff a laugh, putting your dagger away as kiri sighs, shaking her head, hand slipping from your shoulder, “lo’ak, where’s neteyam?”
“i’m here to ask y/n that.”
based on how lo’ak’s eyes lower to the ground, hands behind his back, it makes your heart clench at the implication. he’s gone... again. you glance to kiri, who nods, a silent and understanding of go, it’s okay. i’ll see you later. rising to your feet, you align your gazes with lo’ak, the younger boy offering you a small smile.
“you okay?”
he chuckles, nodding with gratitude; familiar to your warmth and care, “i’m not the one you should be checking up on,” he shakes his head, “not this time, at least.”
“again?” you warm up your ankles and shake your wrists, prepping your body for the way you’d need to climb because–”we can see everything from up here...” your voice comes out in a mere whisper, yet only one can hear you. neteyam circles his arm around your waist, leaning in close as he presses his forehead to the side of your face, “and yet, all i see is you.”–where you’re about to go is a place only you and neteyam know.
somewhere only we know–how foolish. how childish. how... safe and happy you two were at a location that provided you privacy to be whoever you wanted to be. there, you are only known as yourself and neteyam was only known to be neteyam. no labels. no warrior. nothing. just you and him. him and you. together.
“training didn’t go well today, that’s all i can say,” lo’ak mumbles under his breath. before he can get another coherent sentence out, he’s left breathless when you take off past the trees and soon he notices you’re climbing and swinging on the branches.
“be back by dinner!” kiri calls out, well-aware it would reach you despite it looking otherwise.
//
neteyam feels the wind brushing against his skin; calm, tranquil, the coos of the birds soaring above and the low murmurs of leaves clashing below. normally, his senses would be heightened at the sound of branches creaking but this... here–his safe place–is no ordinary place.
it’s one of the highest points that grants him the view of his home; his people. sometimes... once in a while, that gets suffocating. being the eldest, being the one who’s supposed to fit in the role-model mould... it got suffocating, overwhelming.
one day, you brought him here. past the groans and moaning of how much higher?! he’s grateful this became the place he frequented when things got hard to process; when it got hard to breathe. you were here with him, hand-in-hand, his head on your shoulder, arms hugging your waist; his safe place, his person.
here, he was not neteyam te suli tsyeyk’itan; he was just neteyam... and yours.
“you know,” your voice echoes into his ears, then his eyes are blessed with the sight of you climbing up the last branch to reach the one he’s sitting on, “if i knew this would be the place we’d come often, i would’ve chosen somewhere easier to access...”
“you’re such a baby,” he scoffs a laugh, rubbing his nose with the back of his hand, a quiet sniff entering your ears–he’s not crying.
“you’re the one to talk,” you quip back, just as you take your seat next to him. that gets him to quiet down and you’re half-regretting what you’ve said. “sorry... too soon?” you try to make up for it but he only shakes his head, moving to lean against you with a soft not soon enough...
his body grows towards you automatically. like you’re the source of light and he’s the receiver. taking in as much as he possibly can; for when things get heavy, for when things get dark. all he has to think about is his family and what’s at stake; you, you, you–all of you. his eyes flutter shut and he puts his arms around you, scooting you closer until one of your legs nearly go over his due to how close he’s pulling you.
you sigh and allow him to bury himself in your embrace. his face soon meeting your neck, arms tightening around your frame, tail lightly caressing your lower back out of habit. it reminds him that this is what home feels like; what home was meant to be. past the fighting and defending one’s honour, he was meant to be your lover.
you place a hand on his thigh, now noticing the marks of scratches that are on his skin. it doesn’t make him flinch when your fingers brush over it, but what makes him shudder is the way you turn your body so you can cocoon him in. one arm slithering around his shoulders, pulling him in and he inhales deeply against your pulse; your scent.
“you wanna talk about it?” you pry gently, lips to his temple.
initially, he shakes his head.
but a couple of gentle strokes to the back of his head, he relents. details of how strict his father was, the pressure to please and succeed, the role of the oldest sibling weighs heavy on his shoulders and... well... he may or may not have raised his voice back in retaliation for the first time in months. it was normal, even if he thinks otherwise. for every insecurity or dark thought he has, you’ve always combatted with the opposite he longs to be true (it is, he just stubbornly refuses to admit now).
“what if i’ll never live up to him?” good, you’re not supposed to be a copy of your father. you’re meant to be your own person.
“what if i can’t protect them?” as much as you feel responsible to protect everyone else, you should protect yourself first. that’s what your parents would want before you help others.
“what if i’m a failure?” now you’re just talking a load of nonsense.
then, it always, always end with: “thank you,” he lifts his head up, eyes closed as he leans his forehead against yours. his eyes gently open, the moment seemingly soft, serene, pure but you–”for nearly breaking a muscle climbing up to find you? i think i should start claiming a price to this.”
“you dense baboon,” he hisses. the tone of his voice only makes you laugh. giddily, knowing very well by the sound of his voice, it seems like you’ve breathed life back into his lungs.
“i mean, if you call me a dense baboon, what about you? you’re the one who–and i quote–will never love another–dense baboon.”
he gives up with a sigh, eyes fluttering back shut that it makes you give in. after all, he did have a bad day. might as well let him win.
“ah, okay, okay,” you coo, easing the hand that was once on his thigh, then crawling up on his neck, now reaching his cheek where you cup it tenderly. it beckons him to open his eyes, briefly, before it instinctively closes when he feels your breath over his lips; then, the fleeting moment of your kiss that makes his body tense and relax at the same time.
“just one?” he murmurs, a hand of his now meeting the nape of your neck to keep you there as he leans against you.
“how bad of a day did you have?”
“might need a few more to forget about it,”
“you do know this ends with me dragging you back to your father, right?”
“...then give me all the kisses now.”
//
maybe it was thirty minutes, maybe an hour, but all neteyam knows is that he’s calm and at ease as he walks along the path back home with you; his hand in yours, step by step mimicking one another. neteyam succumbed to your wishes of heading back, an hour or two before dinner would take place.
neteyam’s lost in the moment, merely following your hand dragging him like a compass.
it’s not until he nearly loses his footing by staring at you instead of where he’s walking. he tightens his hold on your hand, a soft gasp leaving his lips as you tug him up. it happens so fast; so sudden. his other hand now meets your waist for stability as you come face to face with him–so close he can count the lashes lining your eyes, the smile that twirls up on your lips.
“if you wanted another kiss, all you had to do was ask,”
he scoffs with the roll of his eyes but his hands, his body betrays him. it always does. always weak when it comes to you.
you let go of his hand to circle them behind his neck as he lures you towards him. one hand securing you by the hip, the other reaching up to pillow against your cheek as he lightly noses along yours.
“thank you,” he says, in a mere whisper.
“you said that earlier,” you try to joke, only to get ignored when he gazes into your eyes, making whatever thought you had in your mind fade away; replaced with just the one looking back at you. you lean into his touch as his thumb brushes the under of your eye and as cheesy as it sounds, you feel your heart swelling at such tender moment you two were sharing.
“for seeing me,” his voice blends with the gust of wind that envelopes the pair of you. his words, so seemingly simple but it held much more than that. for coming to me whenever you know something is wrong. for loving me; thank you for loving me.
“i’ll always see you,” i’ll always find you; love you.
he cracks a smile, “even when i’m way up too high in the trees?”
“especially then.”
//
((“i’m sorry, sir,” neteyam has his head lowered, “for how i acted, for the way i behaved. i will do better.”
he swallows, hands locked behind his back as he waits for a response. half-anticipating for a reprimanding, half-afraid of what’s to come. he peeks up at the lack of response, now noticing the soft look in his father’s eyes.
“good,” is all jake says, then motioning him away with the movement of his chin pointing to the side, “dismissed.”
neteyam swallows, as you gape; having stood by his side since the second you’ve dragged him back. neteyam glances to you, then back to his father who remains unmoving.
“d-dad–”
“dismissed,” jake repeats himself, now looking to you with a small nod. you’re able to give a smile, understanding jake’s intentions. he may look stern and he certainly in hell is strict, but he loves his family and it shows. you can see it in the way jake strives to protect those he loves and that comes with a price of being too harsh sometimes. it’s the mutual understanding you have that got jake to warm up just a bit to you (compared to how neytiri awed over the way she noticed her son adoring you).
it was your cue to bow in respect before you wrap your fingers on one of the wrists behind neteyam’s back to tug him away. he doesn’t object, already stumbling to follow you but just as he glances over his shoulder, he could’ve sworn he saw his father crack a smile before he turned his back.
//
”if i knew getting him to date someone would get him to return quicker, i’d thrown him off the edge earlier,” jake comments, snorting at his own remark as he tidies up the equipment. he lets out a soft augh when he feels a nudge to his head, knowing very well of who it might–”you promised you’d go easier on him.”
“i am!” he sighs, looking up to neytiri who has her hands on her hips, raising a brow, “i’ll... have a chat with him, down by the river later.”
she somehow raises her brow higher and he extends his arm out, pointing right at–”you sure we won’t fall?” neteyam squints his eyes at you, watching as you effortlessly hook your knees over the branch, dangling your body upside down with a grin, “do not tell me that the great warrior neteyam, son of jake sully is afraid?”
neteyam scoffs a laugh and threatens to bite your ankle when he grips onto it, only to yelp when you nudge him forward and he has to rely on his reflexes to follow your lead. when he’s securely hanging next to you, he’s able to smile widely at you, finding your hand on the branch between your bodies. it makes you laugh this time, tail lining up the side of his body as he swirls his along your legs. it was playful, childish... it was happiness.
neytiri’s eyes soften at the sight, a smile crawling to her face. she directs her gaze back to jake, who has this shit-eating-grin on his face.
“get to him before dark. i want a nice, peaceful dinner as a family tonight.”
“roger that.”))

a call to you.
Tumblr media
WC: 0.2k SUMMARY: the great protector has bonded with you. NOTES: i havent seen the movie. only the thirty minutes that tgp is in fucking shit up WARNINGS: m!dragon x gn!reader | mentioned: mate | no y/n
THE GREAT PROTECTOR has resided at the bottom of Ta Lo Lake for centuries. Entire civilizations have risen and collapsed while he sleeps within the icy depths. In the indigo darkness, he had heard a voice, as clear as if it were next to his ear, and he opened his great eyes. The first time he emerged from his cradle in lifetimes and he did it to follow your sound.
After he’d tracked you down, he brought you to a nearby cave where he’d built a nest for you. His claws having enclosed around you so gently as he carried you to your new home. Your protests and questions went unanswered for he cannot speak your language. The time you’d spend together aids in understanding him. You learn to crave his presence.
You’re no prisoner, you often walk to Ta Lo. It teems with bustling life, unlike your cave, so you socialize there. Everyone has noticed how quiet you’ve gotten, because you’re used to inhabiting a space where no words are needed.
On a rare occasion you’re visited, a friend timidly approaches the cave’s mouth. To soften its intimidation, you meet her, and beckon her inside. You prepare tea, and pour a drink for the Protector out of respect. It’s ceremonial, the way you draw near to him, kneel down to sit on your legs, and place the delicate cup onto the ground near his cheek. He won’t drink it, but you know he appreciates it. Steam rises from its hatch, and he eyes you gratefully.
You return to your friend, who catches you up on the events of her day. At one point, she advances on you with the intent to touch you. It’s a comfortable gesture, a hand reaching for your arm, but you have a preference of space, recoiling out of habit. The rebuke within you stirs the other resident of this cave. He rears his great head, pupils thinning as they set sights on her. She recedes in fear, and billow of angry fog expels from his nose, grating growls echoing off the stone walls. To calm him, you signal a wave to him, convey to him there is no danger. Your emotions are controlled, your friend meant you no harm.
“What was that?” your dear companion asks, bewildered and fit to gather her things to retreat in fright.
You offer her a kind smile as the Protector bows his chin to the floor behind you. Unfortunately, your explanation raises more questions than it answers, “Oh, he’s very sensitive. He thinks I’m his mate.”

Something I am trying to convey in my fic is that Bi han feels unfulfilled in the Lin kuei like yeah he was trained since childhood to be one of the best assassin in the world and he probably killed hundreds if not thousands in his line of work judging by how brutal the Mortal Kombat world is but that's just it he didn't get anything from it.
He is told he is the earth realm protector and the most nobal cause he can serve is that he keep killing people and play pretend when Lui Kang needs to recruit farmers to represent earthrealm. Imagine how demeaning it must have felt for him to be one of the most powerful people on earth specifically trained to protect it but Lui Kang picks farmers and actors as his champions.
Like the thing is he never sees any outcome for everything he has done in his life he trains, kills people and Lui Kang tells him that's what he was meant to do for the rest of his life it's an endless cycle where the only person who loses is Bi han because rather than being his own person with wants and needs he is just a Lin kuei assassin.
He could find joy in this job many people enjoy mundane work without any thanks or recognition for their specific job (doesn't mean they aren't happy to be appreciated just that's not a major requirement for them) it's clear Kuai Liang and Tomás do but the thing is he didn't have a choice he was expected to be a grandmaster since he was a child.
He didn't experience childhood like he wanted to or rather wasn't allowed to, all he was allowed to do was be a perfect assassin, a perfect grandmaster, a perfect Lin kuai and he is but that's all he has being a Lin kuei, his sense of self worth, his being, his whole existence is tied to being a Lin kuei grandmaster which at the end of the day is a thankless job. I need him to break out of it and just be Bi han

“You are the victim of deceit, sorcerer.”
Even after an hour or so, the words keep ringing in his ears. Each time they repeat, they sting just a bit more. Shang sits in the remnants of his laboratory, a place that once represented his wit and cunning, now a burning reminder of his foolishness. Shang’s eyes are dull, his chest tight. His hands reach up to run through his hair, but only add to the frustration when they get caught in tangles. They then fall down, letting out a sound when they collide with his torso.
Shang had to hold his composure as best as he could. He wouldn’t dare to let Liu Kang and his minions witness a moment of weakness. Why give them more leverage than they already had? As soon as there was a moment of downtime, Shang ignored the faces that looked at him with disgust and ran to his lab. Its smell of death and despair was intense, the cries of prisoners enough to rupture the eardrum; neither managed to register in Shang’s mind.
He storms around the lab, finding himself unable to stay in one place. His mind is scattered across the room; attempts to find it are futile. Shang continues to race around the lab to find the last thing that keeps him together. Quills, scrolls, small miscellaneous items are thrown across the room during his search; no dice. The small items are followed by a chair, a lamp, even one of his examination tables. Shang’s face reddens as his hands tremble in grief and exertion. He inhales, exhales, but his breaths are too shaky to calm the frustration that begins to rise in his body.
A small light reflects in the corner of his eye. It’s one of the many beakers used in his tarkat experiments. Many restless nights were spent slaving over his desk, desperate to find a cure. Shang huffs in bitter amusement at the fact he stressed over this disease for, ultimately, no purpose. If only he could go back in time and tell his past self that he was being played. An invisible magnet draws him over to the object, and he gently picks it up. It’s chipped at the rim, presumably from being thrown to the ground. Dainty fingers spread across the beaker, cold and uncaring; they press against it as if he intended to bring harm. Shang’s breath hitches as his eyes close, imagining that his hands were wrapped around the throats of everyone who dared to conspire against him.
Shang is almost deafened by the sudden footsteps he hears. They aren’t too loud, but the reverb of his laboratory heightens his hearing. There is no need to turn and see who dared to interrupt him. He listens as the familiar legs clack against the ground until they stop in front of him.
“Quan Chi,” he simply states, voice laced with ire. Anger they both shared.
Quan Chi hums, seemingly pleased that he was recognised without Shang Tsung having to open his eyes. “I seek peace, solace from today’s events.”
“And you thought to find respite here,” Shang adds.
“Correct.”
Shang finally opens his eyes to fully drink in the image of his friend. Quan Chi stands tall, a few inches above him, and looks relaxed with his arms behind his back. Shang opens his mouth to say something, but the words are lost on him. He decides to not pollute the air with pointless rambling so the two could share a comfortable silence. Shang watches as Quan Chi walks over to a chair he threw earlier. The sorcerer picks it up and sets it upright before sitting down, sighing in relief after being on his feet all day. Shang takes a few steps back, the added distance giving him the courage to speak.
“I pride myself on my keen foresight, yet I was unable to realize we were just pawns.” Shang’s face twists into a disgusting scowl. It’s an expression that is foreign to his normally smug face.
“The wool was pulled over both our eyes, Shang Tsung.”
Shang shakes his head in anger, the emotions from earlier seeping out of his body. His fists clench and he takes a deep breath.
“Liu Kang will pay for the life he cursed me with. He will regret blessing me with mercy.”
Shang looks over at Quan Chi. His friend’s eyes are laced with an unknown emotion. He silently pleads for a response that would give context to Quan Chi’s facial expression but receives nothing. The two men continue to stare at each other, and Shang can only understand the emotion as pity. Whether Quan Chi truly pities him or not is unknown, but it’s the answer Shang decides to create.
One could almost feel the heat rising from Shang’s shoulders. Its smoke pollutes the air, making it thick and hazy. It suffocates, but Quan Chi is used to poor conditions like this; he doesn’t move at all.
“Shang Tsung,” Quan Chi begins. Shang doesn’t react at all – his eyes are too busy burning holes in the ground in front of him.
No response. The air gets thicker and thicker; it would surely kill anyone who walked in. Quan Chi can see Shang’s nails dyed with blood, a result of digging his nails into his palms. Quan Chi stands and eventually makes his way toward his friend. His efforts to grasp Shang’s attention are in vain, it appears as though there is a compelling force redirecting his attention away from Quan Chi.
Curious, Quan Chi grabs Shang’s chin and forces eye contact.
“Not once have I seen you lose control of yourself,” Quan Chi didn’t mean to offend with his observation, but Shang’s jaw tightens as he feels insulted.
“We were promised the world; instead we received humiliation.” Shang’s voice, once strong and confident, sounds weak and sad. “My wish was to share them with you; rule them as one.”
“And I, you,” comes Quan Chi's soft voice, comforting his companion immediately. Whatever emotion Shang felt in Quan Chi’s eyes is gone; it’s replaced with kinder, softer ones. “We – you deserve much more, Shang Tsung.”
Shang tries to look down but a strong hand keeps his head tilted up. Emotions begin to flood the damaged well of his heart. If Quan Chi wasn’t paying attention, he’d miss the signs of the tears’ arrival: fingers gently shaking, blotches of red attacking his pale cheeks, and torment clawing its way out of his chest. Quan Chi doesn’t know what to do, there’s not much he can do; emotions were never his strong suit. Shang pulls away and starts to pace the room. His hands shake more, and eventually a vase that survived his earlier breakdown is thrown against the wall, breaking and falling in sync with fresh tears. Shang chokes back violent sobs as a table is flipped, a window is broken, and a wall is punched. His poised self is well out the broken window, replaced by a man whose eyes are so bloodshot he looks like a beast.
Quan Chi is silent once again. He doesn’t know if he should calm the man who is now pulling at his hair, or allow him to feel his emotions. Shang’s breathing is rapid; one could almost hear his heart beating out of his chest. Quan Chi didn’t think it possible for Shang to hurt this much. He slowly extends his arms out for a hug, not knowing what else to do. Shang rushes over to Quan Chi and collapses in his arms, the sheer force of his weight knocking them both to the ground. He sobs, almost screams into Quan Chi’s shoulder. Shang’s arms hold the man tight; his fingers digging into his companion’s skin. Both are sure that Shang drew blood, but neither cared.
“I am not sure what to do next,” Shang chokes out, burying his face in his friend’s neck. He feels his stomach twisting. He brushes it off as a symptom of his overwhelming emotions, but knows it’s due to being in such close proximity to Quan Chi. He felt his feelings grow for his fellow sorcerer over the last few months but was quick to bury them. It only makes sense that his desire for the man would return with the rest of his emotions.
Quan Chi lets out a deep sigh of agreement. “Neither do I, my friend.” Friend, that word burns Shang’s chest. “But, hear me, Shang Tsung, when I say I shall face any adversary at your side. Forever.”
Shang slowly raises his head to look at Quan Chi. Shang’s face is wet, but the tears are slowing to a stop. Quan Chi’s hand moves to dry his face and huffs in amusement when Shang replaces the tears he dried with fresh ones. The air becomes charged with an unspoken tension as the two find themselves relaxing in each other’s presence. Their breathing, unbeknownst to them, slowly syncs, creating a harmonious rhythm that resonates with the quiet intensity of the moment. There wasn’t much either man could do other than stare into each other’s eyes. They had always been masters of restraint, keeping their feelings guarded like closely held secrets. Tonight, however, something was different.
As they sit in the laboratory, the echoes of Shang’s anger from earlier in the day linger in the air. The conversation since had flowed effortlessly, each word a bridge leading them closer to a place neither had ventured before. Shang can feel his heart beating a little faster, his palms slightly damp as he tries to navigate the uncharted territory of vulnerability.
Quan Chi, usually composed and self-assured, seems equally affected. His eyes start to hold longing, mirroring the emotions Shang had been suppressing for far too long. The unspoken tension simmers beneath the surface, the magnetic pull between them growing stronger with every passing moment.
A gentle breeze sweeps through a broken window, carrying with it a subtle scent of blooming flowers and the promise of change. The atmosphere seems to conspire, urging them to break free from the shackles of their own inhibitions. The ambient noise of the laboratory fades away as they move closer, the space between them diminishing with each heartbeat. Quan Chi could smell a faint hint of sweat on Shang’s body.
His hand stays on Shang’s face, guiding Quan Chi as he goes in to kiss Shang, the latter slightly gasping in surprise at the movement. The kiss was nothing special; clumsy, unsure lips moving against each other, showing that neither man had much experience in the love department. Their sloppy rhythm slows to a stop as they both pull away. Shang feels dazed. The feeling is welcomed after an hour of rage.
“A friend,” he starts, and Quan Chi listens intently. “You call me a friend, but your actions say otherwise.” Shang grins, “I fear you do not understand what a friendship is.”
“Be silent, sorcerer.”

The Golden Dagger Club
Tumblr media
Pairing: Shang-chi x symbiote!reader
Word Count: 2145
You were just starting to repair the damages of a recuperating career and then the Blip happened. You were dusted away for five years and appeared back into your shitty apartment – your old shitty apartment that was occupied by someone else – and were left with nothing. Your clothing and furniture were all thrown away and your renewed show was trashed because everyone still alive was trying to cope with the loss of loved ones.
To those that stayed, you were considered lucky. Is it lucky to have nothing to come back to? The banks refused to help and getting any loans needed minimum of five years of income. Obviously that’s impossible as you were dusted for all five of those years making the institution useless. No one was willing to hire either as you were often overqualified or lacked any recent experience in the workforce.
Unlike some of the others who also disappeared, you didn’t have a family to help you adapt to the new culture that flourished whilst you were gone. There was still a semblance of the old but you were on your own.
Waiting was the worst. The United Nations were scrambling to provide provisions, documents, and other essentials for those who came back. It was a real shit show and at times, made you wish you never came back.
You had to worry about scavenging enough food for Venom or else it’s your organs that’ll be on the menu and you want your organs to remain intact and uneaten. You also don’t want to watch Venom bite someone’s head off again. You had to work fast as Venom was most likely going to starve and the government wasn’t working fast enough.
You heard murmurs of an underground tournament that pays very well for winning contestants. You weren’t a stranger of questionably immoral activities. You and Venom needed this. It was a saving grace in the waiting game of darkness. The United Nations were behind on provisions and housings, and you couldn’t wait for the miracle of them hurrying along the process.
So you left. The world didn’t need to know you were back, undusted and alive. It had moved on without you and there was no point in sticking around. The world would believe you were the unlucky ones to be at the wrong place during the Snap.
The world would get to learn of the existence of Venom, see the both of you as more than a blurry black figure from security cameras. See the two of you reappear after your hiatus. Your reappearance will be on that podium, hundred of eyes on you, seeing you, and cheering for you.
You had arrived to your brand new start. A new beginning to the end of a shitty chapter. “Welcome to the Golden Daggers Club! We’re a multi-platform global operation. Every fight live streamed on the dark web. Thousands of viewers placing bets as we speak.” The ringmaster, Jon Jon, explained as he handed you the sign up sheet. You read carefully, not wanting to be screwed over in the end, and when you deemed everything acceptable you signed on. It was fast and easy. Pen on paper and suddenly a new door opened.
There must’ve been hundreds of people in the unfinished building. Small cells, containing smaller fights, lead up to the giant podium where the grander fights and higher betting stakes take place. Within the club, you had to earn your place. Starting in those small cells and work your way up to become a favorite.
Your first opponent was no one memorable. They were enhanced to some degree but nothing remotely close to be able to take the two of you down. It was almost too easy but Venom adored the attention they’d garnered. On the other side of the cell were many onlookers, wanting to see more of the alien creature. It was itching more for fights, more advanced opponents, and scoring chocolate money. The club loved Venom. The fame and attention caught the curiosity of the club’s founder.
Xu Xialing was cold, complex, and a fighter. Her coldness was strictly targeted to men but once she saw the person beneath Venom, she’d lighten up around the two of you. You became her friend. You’d learn bits and pieces of her past while you shared yours. She’d given you a chance to start anew even if she didn’t know it. You felt like you owed her for providing a way to provide for Venom in a way your old job couldn’t. You and Venom took it upon yourselves to take out the trash, people who were trying to shut her operation down. The club meant so much to people and you didn’t want anyone to shit on the empire she’d built.
It was a night like any other. Bets were placed and the money just kept coming. The bar was filled as always and Venom was itching for its turn. “Take it easy on the chocolates, it’s about to be your turn.” You were currently watching the fight between Abomination, who was broken out of prison by his opponent, and the current Sorcerer Supreme, Wong. Wong seemed overwhelmed at first but managed to get Abomination to punch themselves.
“I’ve worked up an appetite.” Venom grunted as they bit the whole chocolate bar in its entirety. You could feel it buzzing with excitement.
Wong had won his fight and you were walking towards the main stage. “Doing what, sitting?” You replied as Venom’s pitch black skin covered you fully. Your thin arms concealed by its large muscles and build. No one in the crowd would ever guess who was underneath its skin.
The name of your opponent was called Flux. You had seen his fights before, seen him climb up ranks. You nor Venom were worried though. You’d let Venom take full control as it was its moment not yours. Venom tore onto the stage, hyping up the crowd, and waited for the fight to begin. The lights, the cheers, and the overwhelming anticipation riddled your being. It was exhilarating and you couldn’t wait for Venom to have the time of its life.
Flux wasn’t overpowered by much. Having superhuman strength, stamina and durability assists in keeping up with you and Venom. You’d been lucky no one has caught on to your weaknesses. As Venom controlled your body, you thought about how different your life had become and how thankful you were for being the right match for Venom. Feeling the immense happiness originating from it makes you happy. You knew Venom felt miserable hidden within your body, not allowed to stretch till night fell. Here in the club, it didn’t matter. Almost every fighter had some enhancement that made them different from everyone else. Had skills most didn’t possess.
Once the fight was over, the club’s staff members dragged Flux away towards the locker room. Venom, after celebrating its win with the crowd, followed afterwards. A giant teeth-filled grin dwelled on its face until its skin disappeared into your body.
You opened your designated locker and pulled out a box of chocolates and a 12 pack of diet soda. Opening them one by one you feed Venom by placing them into its mouth and congratulating them on its win while you consume the diet soda. In moments like these Venom resembled a puppy. Craved for your attention and wanted to feel loved.
You’d notice Jon Jon speaking to someone you’d only seen on your phone. The Bus Boy video that’s been dominating the internet. Venom had dismissed the guy as he wasn’t anything special except for maybe his delicious brain but you didn’t want to find out.
“[Reader], Venom,” Jon Jon yelled, “the boss wants to talk!” The guy next to him watched curiously at the Venom head appearing out of your side.
“If anyone steals even one chocolate or soda, I’ll bite your head off and feast on your organs.” Venom made sure to show off its teeth to the remaining contenders before going to Xialing’s office. You sat down on a chair waiting for her to arrive. Jon Jon left the dubbed Bus Boy in her office as well. He stayed standing, not knowing what to do. He was nervous, that was evident, and a bit awkward.
“Do you know who we are supposed to meet?” He didn’t know how to talk to you or Venom. If he were being honest, Venom kinda scared him. The threats given did not help at all. “I need to find my sister. Do you know her, Xu Xialing?” You noticed he kept a white tissue around his nostrils. The metallic smell of blood allowed you to know the reason why.
You stayed quiet not knowing the reason as to why he was asking. Knowing he was in her workplace, she’ll show herself eventually.
She walked in, taking her place behind her laptop.
“You run this place?” He talked in Mandarin.
“I own it.” She replied back.
Another woman was let in by Jon Jon, counting the stack of cash as she walked into the room. She was adorable when she was caught red handed. Having bet against the man, her friend apparently. “Did you bet against me?”
“No.” She lied. “I bet on that Venom dude earlier.” In an attempt to change the subject, she turned the attention on you and Xialing, “Hi Xialing and stranger. I’m Katy. You’re, like, such a badass. Everything that you do is, like, so cool. That was really cool.” She walked towards one of the seats next to her friend, which you still did not have a name for.
“This is [Reader].” Xialing replied, “The Venom dude from earlier.”
Katy gasped excitedly, “No way! I thought Venom had more muscles. Love the costume by the way. What fabric do you use?” She shook your hand frantically and laughed, “Your fight was so amazing. You made me a lot of money.”
You had never integrated with someone who had so much shameless confidence. She had seen you and Venom fight and she was treating you like a hero. Most run away at the sight of the two of you. It was a nice change of scenery. “Alien, I guess? Venom come out and say ‘hello’ to a fellow fan.”
“A fan…” He muttered as he moved his head towards her, “So unafraid, so courageous. You shall not be eaten.”
She chuckled nervously, “Thank you.”
“I like your pants.” Xialing turned the conversation towards herself.
Katy blushed, “Thank you. Thanks. Yeah.” She was obviously flattered by the compliment as she smoothed out her yellow pants.
“What do you want?” The coldness of Xialing's voice appeared suddenly. A certain sharpness you had never heard, finally making its existence known.
“The Ten Rings ambushed us in San Francisco.” San Francisco was the place where you once lived. The tomb of the life you once had.
“I saw the video.” Everyone had seen the video. It became a viral phenomenon which was rare as it raced against hero and alien sightings, and meet and greets with international heroes.
“They took my pendant. They’re gonna come for yours next.” You had learned about the pendant Xialing never took off as it was a gift from her mother. To learn he shared the same or similar pendant must mean only one thing. “I don’t know what he wants with them, but we both know it can’t be good.”
“You know what he said to me when he left?” You heard this story only once. It was a painful memory of abandonment and the loss of a sibling. Not in death, but in spirit. Lost of hope while living in the fragments of an once happy family. “‘I’ll be back in three days.’ And after three days, I went to our mom’s shrine and waited. Three days turned into a week, a week turned to a month, and a month turned to six years. That’s how long it took me to realize I didn’t need him any more. I built this place on my own. I didn’t need you then, and I don’t need you now.”
“I volunteer to eat him.” Venom liked Xialing. She snuck chocolates to it and was the first person, who wasn’t [Reader], to not be afraid of it. She gave you and it a home. “I’ll make it painful.” He licked his lips to scare Xialing’s brother even more.
Xialing smiled at Venom. It was the thought that counted and Venom meant well. He inched away from you and asked, “Then why would you send me the postcard?”
“What postcard?”
He got up from his seat and reached into his pockets. He slowly walked towards her before handing it to her.
“I didn’t send you this.” After she spoke those words, everything went to shit.

Electric Love
Tumblr media
Requested by: @lucywrites02
Word Count: 2045
Pairing: Shang-chi x reader
Warnings: swearing (again, nothing new), reader uses they/them pronouns but is referred to as a girl like once, i felt like shit while writing over half of this so don't expect it to be good, this is the first thing i've written in a few months so again it's not the best
Your typical responsible adult had a very good handle on their time management.
You, however, were not one of those responsible adults.
Your cat Sparkles watched as you hobbled around on one leg trying to put on your shoes. It was currently 9 am, which meant that you were an hour and a half late for work. “Of all days for my fucking alarm not to go off.” You muttered as you rushed to fix your tie.
You triple-check that you had everything you needed and that Sparkles’ water and food bowl was filled before rushing out the door and to the bus stop.
“You’re late.” Shaun said in a sing-song voice as you put your bag in your locker and pinned your name tag in place.
“I know, I know. My alarm didn’t go off this morning. Did anyone notice that I was gone?” You said as you shut your locker and turned to face him.
“Nah, our manager doesn’t start until noon today, so you’re in the clear. Just make sure to be on time tomorrow.” He joked as he ruffled your hair. You swatted away his hand and glared at his back as you watched him walk away.
He’s an asshole, but a cute asshole.
“Don’t worry, I’m setting like 5 alarms when I get home. Don’t need Monica up my ass about being late.” You said as you followed him outside.
“God, I can’t wait until the day she either quits or moves to another location. Did you know that she spends most of her time in the break room trying to flirt with me?” Shaun asked as he unlocked the box that kept the residents’ car keys. You ignored the quick sharp pain that stabbed at your heart before replying.
“Really? I guess she can’t take a hint. Although I can’t blame her, you are kinda hot.” That last bit slipped out before you could properly make sure what you were saying wasn’t something stupid.
“Yeah, I guess you’re right. I am pretty hot.” He said with a smile as he turned to take some lady’s car keys. You silently thanked her for the distraction and took it as a moment to calm yourself down. Pretty sure you could fry an egg on my face right now.
The two of you spent the rest of your shift, trying not to take offense at the fact that people seemed to be aiming for your faces with their keys. You kept quiet as some of them flirted with Shaun, pretending that it didn’t hurt when he seemingly flirted back with them. He’s not your boyfriend, so why do you think you deserve to be upset? He’s free to flirt with whoever he wants to.
You repeated that to yourself over and over, but even after saying it a thousand times you still didn’t believe it. Later when you were putting your stuff in your locker, Shaun leaned against some of the lockers beside yours. “Do you have any plans later on today?”
“Not really, just planning on staying home with Sparkles and doing some reading. Why?” You asked as you shut your locker and turned to face him.
“Perfect! Me and Katy are gonna go to karaoke later tonight, and we were wondering if you wanted to come with?” He asked as he crossed his arms over his chest.
“Sure, sounds fun. Just text me when y’all two are ready.” You said while ignoring the way his muscles flexed as he crossed his arms. “Also, it’s Katy and I, not me and Katy.” You added on as you lightly punched his arm.
“Oh, whatever. Just don’t be late, alright?” Shaun said with a scoff as he walked away.
You watched as he walked away, smiling at the two of you’s banter. Maybe one day I’ll have the guts to ask him out, but today is not that day.
The bustling sounds of the city during the night was always something that you enjoyed listening to. As you and Katy stood outside the karaoke spot waiting for Shaun, she decided to spark a conversation about something she’d been thinking about.
“So, you seem to be pretty interested in Shaun. Do you have any plans to ask him out?” She asked as she wriggled her eyebrows at you.
The question cut you so off guard that you choked on your breath for a second. “What? What are you talking about, I’m not interested in Shaun.” Is it really that obvious? I thought that I was hiding it so well.
“Oh please, you look at him like you’d move the moon for him when you think he isn’t looking. If that’s your idea of being discreet, I hope you never try to become a spy or something.”
“I take high offense to that, I would be a great spy. And besides, even if I was into Shaun why would it matter? He doesn’t really show any interest in me besides being my friend, and I’m fine with that.” You shrugged, hands deep in the pockets of your jacket.
Katy rolled her eyes, but before she could respond or question you any further Shaun walked up to the two of you. “Hey, guys. You haven’t been waiting for me long, have you?”
“Nah, just standing here having some girl talk.” Katy said as she patted you on the back. You and Shaun shared an amused look before the three of you headed inside.
Shaun had a pretty simple life for the most part. He woke up, got ready for work, got home, and hung out with his friends, like any other person in the world does. Except for the whole “my father trained me to be an assassin since I was 7 and sent me to kill the man who killed my mother and I ran away from him and my little sister.” But y’know, every family has its problems.
But right now, as he sat watching his friends making an absolute fool of themselves by singing Electric Love, he wasn’t thinking about all of that.
He was thinking about how adorable his friend Y/N looked as they practically screamed the lyrics to the song. They actually didn’t sound that bad— in fact Shang-chi felt like he could listen to their voice for the rest of his life without getting tired of it.
But these thoughts were all completely platonic of course. Shaun definitely did not have a crush on Y/N. The two of them were just friends.
Y/N was a friend that he found himself thinking about a lot more than what would be considered normal for their relationship. They were a friend that he always brought soup over to whenever they were feeling sick, and listened to their complaints about how shitty their date that night was.
Although Shang-chi pretended not to notice the way his heart clenched when Y/N told him about a date that went better than expected. He pretended to notice the way his mood lifted whenever Y/N smiled or went on a rant about something they really loved.
But again, these thoughts were all completely platonic.
“Hello? Earth to Shaun?” Y/N said as they waved a hand in his face. Shang-chi snapped out his thoughts, looking up to see Y/N giving him a quizzical look. “You ok?”
“Yeah yeah, I’m fine. Are you two done signing like dying cats?” He joked as he took a sip of his beer. Y/N and Katy both gave off offended scoffs.
“Now that was very rude, Shaun. I think Y/N and I sounded absolutely beautiful. Don’t you think so, Y/N?” Katy asked as she turned to Y/N.
“I think that we sounded so good that we could perform at Coachella.” Y/N said as they sat down beside Shaun. Their face was a bit flushed from the beer, and they weren’t exactly good at holding their beer so they laid their head on Shang-chi’s shoulder.
Don’t think about it too much, man. They're probably just a little tipsy. It doesn’t mean anything.
“Thank you very much! Now if you two will excuse me, I’ll be going to the bathroom. Don’t have any fun without me!” Katy yelled as she walked out of the booth. Shang-chi shook his head at his friend's antics.
“Thanks for inviting me out with the two of you tonight, it’s been very fun so far.” Y/N spoke up as they finished off their beer.
“You’re welcome, you’re free to come out with us anytime you want to.” He said with a smile as he looked at them. The thought Shang-chi had about the two of them going out alone went unspoken though.
He was so wrapped up in his own thoughts, he didn’t really register the words that just came out of Y/N’s mouth. “Sorry, what was that?”
Y/N blushed and quickly looked away. “It was nothing.” They mumbled.
“No really, what did you say? I promise that I’ll listen this time. You have my full attention.” Shaun said as he turned his body to be fully facing them.
Y/N gave him a look, but it was pretty hard to decipher. “Why are you like this?” They asked softly.
“What are you talking about?”
“Why are you so kind? Like, you’re such a nice person it makes me sick. How am I supposed to get over my feelings for you when you do shit like this. It isn’t fair. It isn’t fair that I have to stand there while girls flirt with you, and pretend that I don’t get jealous. This is all your fault actually.” Y/N rambled on. They were so out of it, that they didn't notice the look that Shang-chi was giving them.
Truthfully, there were a lot of emotions behind that look. Shock at the sudden outburst. Happiness at the fact that you had just confessed to him. And admiration, because you have never looked any cuter to him than you did at that moment.
“You like me?” He whispered— although it sounded more like a 5 year old’s idea of whispering. This also wasn’t the best response, but they were both so overwhelmed they didn’t care.
“Yeah, I fucking like you! Did you think that rant was for nothing?” Y/N scoffed. The two of them just sat there, staring at each other. They knew what the next move was, but they were both too scared to take it.
What if I’m not good enough? What if we don’t work out as a couple and end up ruining any chance of being friends again? Is that a risk I’m willing to take? These were thoughts that ran through both of their minds. Friendship was a very important thing to both of them, but their romantic feelings for each other were so strong by this point, that it’d be difficult for them to continue on in their lives, acting as if they were unaware of what the other felt.
“Do you wanna go on a date? Like not just to a karaoke bar, but like an actual date? I feel like that’d be a better time and place to talk about our feelings than somewhere were the booth across from us is doing their own special rendition of I Knew You Were Trouble by Taylor Swift.” He said.
Y/N smiled, shifting closer to Shaun and laying their head on his shoulder again. “I’d love that.” Shang-chi smiled back down at them, giving a quick peck on their forehead.
“Fucking finally!” Katy yelled as she walked back into the room. Shang-chi and Y/N jumped at the shouting, both looking over at their friend. “Do you know how long I’ve been waiting for the two of you to get together? I thought I was gonna have to lock the two of you together in a room or something to get y’all to confess your feelings. Now, what song are we singing next?” She said as she picked up the book of songs and started flipping through it.
Shaun and Y/N shared a look of amusement before helping Katy pick out a song.
Maybe confessions aren’t such a bad thing.

All the ways we sabotaged it. [Shang-Chi x reader]
Inspired by skinny dipping by Sabrina Carpenter. Ever since I've heard the song, I couldn't get this fic out of my mind. So why not write it?
Warning: Angst, angst, so much of it. Shang-Chi hiding things. Lots of misunderstandings, break-up. Happens six months after the events of Shang-Chi.
Summary: Six months after the break-up, you and Shang-Chi cross paths in a café downtown.
Tumblr media
It had been six months. Six long, hard, agonizing months since you and your ex, Shaun, broke up. It has been a long process but with the help of your family and friends, it seems less hard than if you had to do all of it alone. You just started to move on. Yes you still loved him; but in retrospect, you and him wouldn't have lasted. There were too many things happening at the time and honestly, neither of you were mature enough for a relationship.
It had been a Wednesday when you had decided to go out. Just spend your day with your own company. It had been a while since you'd been to this café specifically because of some guy. You really missed their lattes. Once you placed your order, you had searched for a seat and then sat down. Appreciating the calmness of the place. You would start writing on your computer, letting your fingers dance on the keyboard. The place has given you writing ideas that you were more than excited to write about.
ϟ
Everything was going perfectly until a familiar voice had stopped you in your frenzy. A voice you hadn't heard for so long. At first you thought you had misheard. Maybe it was someone that sounded like him. It couldn't be him right?
So the logical thing to do was to go back to what you were doing in the first place. It was just your imagination playing tricks on you. He couldn't be here. You'd heard from a mutual close friend that he had to fly back home. Where was "home"? You hadn't known, he'd never told you about his home country. "Family business. I swear!" She had told you.
However, when you looked up, you're surprised to see the same face attached to that voice. The same smile, and the same hair. All in all, the guy that had taken your heart six months ago. He was there right in front of you. And it seemed like he wanted to talk to you.
"Hi." He almost whispered when he had arrived in front of your table. In an instant you couldn't think of a proper salutation, so you opted for a simple "Hi. How are you?" And soon, a conversation bloomed. You two would catch up to whatever had happened since the separation. It was nice, talking like no time had passed; no separation happened. To be honest, you kinda missed those sort of days. When words would just fill out of your mouth, and you being unable to stop them.
And very soon, minutes would change into hours. Niether of you would notice. In those hours, Shaun had told you that he was actually grateful you had broken up with him. At first it stung a little; but then he told you the reason why. It had opened his eyes; he was reckless, had lied to you so many times, and hid so many things. His words. In retrospect he couldn't understand how you had put up with it. The gall of the man. He even had lied to you about his name!
Your response to it should've been to be angry with him. To yell at him about lying about his name. Understandably you were upset, you two shared a life together, though short lived, you felt he should have felt safe enough to tell you about it. After everything that had gone down after your departure, was explained to you, you understood. You would've probably done the same in his shoes. I mean, did it sound crazy? Yes. Did you wonder how that concerned you in any way? Heck yes. Were you still worried about the guy? Yes.
So in the end, you still listened to his crazy-not-so-crazy story. In the end, you still had a little bit of concern and empathy for this guy.
You decided to go home when the sky changed hues. You had spent a good day in his company in this café. But now it was time to go home. As soon as you two parted ways, you questioned yourself on why you two didn't work.
Yes, he had lied and hid things. But at the end of the day, your delusional mind thought that it could've been salvaged somehow. It rattled on past opportunities of reconciliation and the multiple ways you would have been more than happy to be supportive of him and journey. However, you ultimately came to the conclusion that if it hadn't worked, it probably wasn't meant to be.
Really, that day had just been a reafirmation that you two had had a good run, but like all good things it was time to let go and move on. you were more than ready.

***Sorry for any MISSPELLING/GRAMMAR that I missed**
MATURE CONTENT/ +18 AUDIENCE ONLY
Side notes: I know I’ve been neglecting my man Shang Chi but here’s some late father’s day material yall…
“I’m about five minutes away” you glanced at the rear view mirror checking on your dog Willow.
“Ok I’m outside whenever you pull up” your mom replied. You gave a sigh before hitting the end call button on your speaker phone. Man did you love your pet dearly but you need a major break to keep up with your work schedule. Shang Chi was always there to be helpful with what he could and couldn’t do, but it was the fact that he was present for it all. One of your biggest fears was being left alone with raising your family but owning a dog first was something that was like a test run for both of you. But only if you were interested in having kids one day….
You pulled up to your mom’s driveway and heard the jiggling collar of your white puff dog in the back seat.
“I’m surprised you remember this place” you unbuckle your seatbelt to open the back seat door for your companion.
“I didn’t expect to dog sit this weekend, I have a life too you know” your mom sat on the porch of the house in a chair observing you from afar.
You held onto Willow’s  leash as he climbed out of the car.
“Well it’s only for this weekend ma it would mean lot so I can catch up on some work” you huffed.
“I’m only giving you a hard time” she waved her hand off to you.
You approached the porch of your mom and handed her your dog’s leash before heading off.
“Everything should be still left over from the other bag I left you for him. His food and treats should last until Sunday.” You scurried over to walk off the porch in a hurry to enjoy some freedom.
“Yea yea we’ll be fine.. just us two. We get along just fine” Willow watched you intensely with his ears pulled back wondering where his owner was off to.
“Thank you, you're the best!” You waved your hand bye before backing out of the driveway.
You drove back home and looked at your big house of a mess. There was dirty clothes laid everywhere and dishes in the sink from this morning. Meanwhile, your boyfriend sat lazily on the sofa without a care in the world.
“Aren’t you supposed to be packing for the work trip with me tomorrow?” You walk in front of the tv and block his view.
“Yep and I already did bae” he pointed to his black duffle bag in the corner of the room.
You laugh and shake your head. “I still need to pack can you at least help straighten up the living room or the kitchen while I look for some clothes myself?”
You gave him a cheeky grin before moving to your bedroom.
Shang Chi pulled himself off the sofa and watch you off into the hallway. He smirked looking at your bottom in those pants.
As you went into your room you spot your own luggage and look into the closet you had.
“Options options..” you push your clothes back and forth looking at the same outfits you already own. But you spot a sundress in the corner of your closet that you haven’t worn yet.
“Hmm” you pull it out and examine the fabric. You did a full turn in the mirror to visualize how it might look. A big huff escapes your mouth to try it on.
You weren’t sure if it fit well enough and went to ask your boyfriend. Shang Chi was located in the kitchen doing the dishes. Before you called his attention, you watch him for a quick second being grateful for the man that he was. Your head slightly leaned against the doorway softly calling his name.
“Hey babe” you gave a sheepish smile. Shang Chi was leaned over the sink with the sleeves of his hoodie rolled up just enough to expose his biceps.
“What’s up?” He rinsed off a bowl with ease.
“Do you like this dress?” You slowly expose yourself from the corner of the hall and give a goofy pose.
Shang Chi gave a huge laugh before responding back. “Turn around let me see the back” he chuckled. You turned around to reveal your backside.
“It looks nice babe, you should come a little closer so I can get a better view of it” he smirked.
“Why? So you can feel something?” You giggled while doing a seductive walk over to him. Shang Chi dried his hands on a towel and leaned his back against the counter.
“Come here” he grabbed you over by the waist and roamed his hands over your ass.
“It feels nice too” he left trails of kisses down your neck. Your face grew flush before pushing his chest back some.
“What do you think you’re doing? We gotta pack” you brushed hands up and down his chest.
“Yea I know but what was I supposed to do when you tease me like that?” He bent down to kiss your soft lips. You smirk into the kiss and feel yourself crumble over his roaming hands. Your hands found their way over his hair.
Your panties began to moisten wanting him inside you. It’s been a week since your lover attended to you, and your emotions took over forgetting how much you ache for him.
You push past him and leaned your body against him pushing your ass on his groin.
Shang Chi wasted no time and eagerly pushed your sundress up. “Come onnn” you whimper with your abdomen pressed against the sink.
“I’m right  here” huskily pulled his basketball shorts down revealing his pre cum member ready for you. His hands pulled your panties down between your thighs before pushing his dick in your slick opening. Shang Chi balanced his arm with the counter towering over your shoulder. You hook your arm around his neck blissfully taking his size inside you.
“Fuck” Shang Chi breathed heavily on your ear pushing every inch inside of you. You got a glimpse of yourself in the reflection of the kitchen window and snapped back to reality. “Wait….babe..” you moaned into his thrust.
Shang Chi stopped. “You ok?” he asked concerned. “We forgot the condom” you whispered.
“Trust me we don’t need it” he pulled the bra strap down of your dress and cupped your breast.
You moan feeling his rough bare hand manhandling your chest.
“Fuck it” you felt his hand grab hold of your waist and thrust into you harder. You feel your slit tighten around him feeling him hit your g spot with harder thrusts.
“Right there” you clench harder on the counter biting your lip. Shang Chi grew mesmerized watching his member push into you while wrinkling up your new dress.
“Babe please let me come inside you” Shang Chi groaned watching your ass crash into his waist.
“Whatever you want” your mind grew into a fog after hearing his deep voice. Shang Chi turned you around and ripped your panties completely off your legs. You squeal as he picked you up by your waist.
“Babe wha” you couldn’t finish before his strong arms hooked under your knees while your arms held onto his shoulder.
“Oh my god” your mouth dropped wide open, feeling him ram into you deeper. You look into his eyes pleading. Shang Chi drilled his eyes into yours feeling every inch of your wet pussy. Your thighs tremble with each stroke. The look of desperation on your cute face sprouted his cum all inside you. He gently laid you against the counter and carefully watched his cum stain around your thighs. “Where did that come from?” you lean against the counter for balance. Shang Chi searched for his shorts on the floor amused.
“Sundresses make me go crazy,” he smiled.
After the weekend passed you completely forgot about getting avplan b until one day you notice little symptoms different in your body. You look at your phone squinting in pain.
“Ughh” you rubbed your forehead looking for aspirin in a nearby draw. Shang Chi laid in bed while watching a game. “I told you to stop pushing yourself” he murmured. “I’m not I’m just getting some early period symptoms” you rolled your eyes taking the pills. “Sure” he smirked.
You furrowed your eyebrows at him. “I’m going to bed early” you clamped your laptop closed and snuggled close to his back. “Good night”
Later that night you woke up dizzy and snuck out of bed without waking Shang chi. You quietly closed the bathroom door and flicked the light on. In your pantry, you rummaged through the shelves for an emergency pregnancy test.
“I’m such an idiot,” you thought to yourself. You totally forgot to get the plan B weeks ago and now without question, you’re knocked up.
You took the test and sat on the toilet seat wondering what to do. With all the stress and tiredness built up inside you, this was the last thing to add to your life problems. The two lines on the test displayed with no lie in between. You took a deep breath and reluctantly snatched the test off the counter. You turn off the light and opened the bathroom door. You climbed back into bed and pulled Shang Chi’s arm back around your body.
“Shang Chi” you gently patted his bare chest.
“Mhmm” he responded.
“I’m pregnant” you whispered into his ear. “Oh, that’s good babe that means my plan worked” he slurred.
“You said we were going to plan this???” your voice hitched.
“(y/n) you’re the love of my life and I won’t ever leave you. I want you to have my kids, not just our dog. We’ve been together for years now, and nobody will ever replace what we have….nobody..” he took the test out of your hands and threw it across the bed. “I love you and our future baby” he kissed the crown of your head and wrapped his arms tight around you promising to never let you go.

"I wouldn't settle for anything less."
Pairing: Shang-Chi x GN!Reader
Tumblr media
Type: Fluff
Warnings: mild swearing
Summary: You were acquainted to Shaun in a very unexpected way. It was on a bus, you were exhausted from a long day at work. As you miss your stop due to your slumber, the young man proposes something to your half-awake self. This leads to the start of something life changing. ______________________________________________________________
The first time you met Shaun was quite... interesting, to say the least. You could barely remember that faithful day. You were so tired, he had to wake you up during the bus ride to make sure you didn't miss your stop. He sat next to you every day, even though you were a complete stranger to him. He did know one thing about you, though; your bus stop. He tried to wake you up before the stop, but it was too late: you slumbered on the public transport too much. As he was tapping your shoulder, you finally woke up from your nap, still half-asleep.
"Hey, uh... you kind of missed your bus stop..." he tells you quielty, which immediately wakes you up. As you look around, realizing that you did indeed miss your bus stop, you whisper to yourself: "Oh, for fuck's sake." The young man closes his phone and proposes a solution to you. "If you want, my stop is not far from yours and you could sleep at my place tonight. I have a spare bed and I could drive you home tomorrow morning." Barely awake and exhausted from your day at work, you reply in the most subtle manner known to man, but somehow loud enough for Shaun to hear. "Yeah, sure, that sounds great." you yawn, as you rest on his shoulder.
______________________________________________________________
You wake up to the sound of birds singing and to the smell of crackling bacon. You stand up, still in yesterday's clothes and try to recognize the room you're currently situated in: it's completely unkown to you. You decide to get out of bed and head for the stairs when you suddenly hear footsteps: it's the boy from yesterday.
"Oh, hey, I didn't know you were awake. I was going to have breakfast. You're welcome to join if you want." he says, not realizing he's literally shirtless in front of you. You took a quick second to admire his amazing body before you nod in agreement. As he walks to his room, you interrupt him: "Hey, uh, I never got to thank you" you say as he quickly turns around and smiles at you. "Oh, it's no problem, really. By the way, I never got your name." Realizing you were never officially acquainted, you giggle nervously. "Ah, yeah... uh... I'm Y/N." As he heads to his room, he replies: "I'm Shaun. Nice to meet you."
Shaun notices as you anxiously eat breakfast. "You ok?" he asks, concerned. "Oh, it's nothing. I was just wondering how I ended up here. I have like, no idea what happened yesterday." you explain while stumbling over your words. "Ah, I see." he says after taking a bite. "Well, you fell fast aleep on the bus. I didn't want to wake you up, so I picked you up. I also got your stuff" he explains as he points to your bag lying on the couch. "You picked me up... like... damsel in distress style?" you ask, smiling like a complete idiot, hiding your cheek. "Yeah.", he replies softly, blushing, earning a little laugh from you. He continues explaining: "After that, I put you to bed and made sure you were as comfortable as possible." he says while slightly hiding his face. You thank him before standing up and asking where the bathroom is. He points to a door as you head that way.
______________________________________________________________
You thank Shaun for the night and the ride as you arrive to your place.
"Hey, maybe we can hang out when I'm fully conscious sometime." you propose while smirking.
"Yeah, that sounds great." he answers. "Do you have a phone number?"
"Yeah, I do." you say before spelling it out as he notes it down on his phone.
"Thanks, Shaun." you thank him again after kissing his cheek. "See you later!"
"Bye, Y/N!"
When you close the door behind you, he whispers to himself:
"Shit, I think I'm in love."
______________________________________________________________
"Hey." you say awkwardly as you open the door.
"Hey." he replies as awkwardly.
You both chuckle before he comes into your place, handing you flowers. "Shaun... you shouldn't have." you say while smiling like an idiot. Shaun chuckles and kisses you on the forehead. You've been gashlighting yourself into believing you didn't have a crush on him until today. Now, you fully embrace it. "I love you, Shaun." you whisper to him. He smiles. "I love you too." he responds holding both of your shoulders gently. "Also, call me Shang-Chi." You run through his hair before sharing a kiss. You pull away slowly. "Movies?" you ask with a slight smirk. "Movies." Shang-Chi says, chuckling.
______________________________________________________________
You fell alseep on his shoulder during the movies. This reminds him of the time you first met, on that bus. As he holds your hand, he whispers to your slumbering self.
"I love you, Y/N. I always did and I always will."

Warnings: violence, gore, death, angst, happy ending probably if you don’t mind cliffhangers
Summary: Steve has finally come to you for help, and now you’re left facing your biggest fear.
Previous Chapter:  A Showdown
WC: ~ 3.3k
Tumblr media
Was this how death was supposed to be? A life-changing interaction within a second that blinds you until all you see is black, and every sound you hear fades away into nothing. The desperate cry of your husband, the shouts of rage and anguish from your friends, a shocked gasp, all preceded by the sound of something ripping through the air before you were gone.
Was this really death? Was it just nothing?
Not yet.
Your body collapsed to the ground, leaving this other version of you to release a cry with a smile on her face. It was part delighted and overjoyed for having bested you, and part relieved to no longer be exerting so much power and force. However, her relief could only last so long. She straightened up quickly when she felt vibrations charging in her direction.
Charging towards her was Shangqi. Tears stained his cheeks as your body hit the ground in a lifeless heap. The rings on his arms were glowing brightly, every step he took thundering on the ground as he charged this variant of you with one intent: to put her into the ground the way she had done to you.
Sliding in front of Shangqi, Natasha dropped to the ground quickly with the intent to sweep his legs out from under him and knock him over. He jumped over her leg sweep and continued running, preparing to use his rings to launch him into the air to deliver a devastating blow reminiscent of when he faced the Dweller-in-Darkness.  However, Natasha threw her escrima stick at the back of his knee and made him stumble, giving her just enough time to run towards him and tackle him.
“What are you doing?” He shouted as he fought with Natasha until he was able to kick her off. “She has to be stopped! She killed Y/N!”
“I’m doing what Y/N would’ve wanted!” Natasha replied, getting back up and stepping in front of Shangqi, weapons raised high as she lowered herself into a fighting stance.
Shangqi was stunned. How could she? Maybe she wasn’t the Natasha from this universe, but how could she do this to you? How could she step in his way when all he wanted to do was avenge your death?
“Y/N wanted her gone,” Shangqi whispered. “You won’t stop me.”
“Y/N wants you alive, above anything,” Natasha replied. “And I’m going to follow through.”
“Then good luck stopping me,” Shangqi replied.
There was no way Shangqi could possibly care any less about his life at the moment. It didn’t matter. To him, you were gone. You being gone? What was left? You were supposed to start a family. You were supposed to go on vacations together, do cheesy, touristy things, grow your family, live out a long, happy life together where you got to rest and he took up the responsibility of defending the world, the responsibility you and others had for years.
Shangqi and Natasha were locked in a fight against each other, all the while, Steve was rushing forward with an attack. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing ,double of you fighting each other to the death, all because he was being selfish because he wanted another chance.
Steve sprinted right past the fight happening amongst teammates and leapt into the air. Your variant blasted Steve out of the sky, his shield absorbing some of the damage, but not stopping him from being knocked back. It served as a fine distraction for the rest of them.
A portal opened behind her, and Bucky’s arm reached through Doctor Strange’s portal to grab her shoulder. Expecting this, she whirled around and grabbed Bucky’s metal arm. She smirked while Bucky looked shocked for a second. As he tried to yank his arm away from her, she laughed.
“How much can that arm withstand, James?” She raised an eyebrow while Bucky frowned.
Bucky raised his right arm to punch her, and she immediately grabbed his forearm and sent a powerful enough vibration to break it, causing him to shout in pain. Bucky fought through the pain and raised his knee to her stomach, but, once again, she blasted his knee, shattering the bone and sending him to the ground. She leaned down and detached Bucky’s arm, looking up quickly when she felt something from the sky.
Sam was flying towards her just as Steve was running at her again. Steve threw the shield at her, which she deflected. Sam swooped in and caught the shield as planned before flying towards her in what would’ve been a devastating nosedive. However, using Bucky’s arm, she threw it comically, like it was a spear, using her powers to send it through Sam’s wings and send him spiraling towards the ground.
Luckily for Sam, Stephen quickly shut his portal after moving Bucky back out of it, and sent his cloak to catch Sam in the air.
Your variant looked around her. She was losing strength quickly, and she still had so much to do. She could end it all now, kill this universe’s Avengers, but it would ruin her plans, put too much attention on her when all she wanted was to have a loving, happy family. Taking a few steps back, she aimed her palms down to the ground and pushed herself into the air.
“Where is she going?” Shangqi shouted, shoving Natasha away from him. “God, damn it!”
“The lake house is that way,” Steve breathed. “She’s going after Tony—“
“She’s going after Morgan,” Natasha corrected him. “We gotta go. Clint can catch up.”
Steve looked around and spotted Sam on the ground, “Sam—“
“I got Bucky,” Sam nodded, glancing over to the man in agony. “We’ll set his bones before they heal incorrectly.”
“I’ll get Dr. Banner,” Stephen said, glancing around. “We need the big guns now.”
“We can’t risk the Hulk destroying the house. Morgan’s just a kid, she shouldn’t see that,” Steve reasoned with the group. “But we need to catch up with her now before she tricks them. Who knows what she’ll do.”
“The good news is she’s losing strength. She can’t take on all of us, not forever,” Natasha explained.
“Are you done?” Shangqi snapped. “Enough talking. We need to go now. I won’t let them hurt my family.”
His family. That’s right. Steve stared at Shangqi for a few seconds and thought about it. They really were his family now. Morgan, his little sister (even though she called him uncle) his father- and mother-in-law, they were all his family now, and Shangqi just lost his wife. If your variant took the rest of your family from him, well, Steve wondered if this Shangqi would seem more like his evil counterpart than anyone could have imagined.
They took off towards the lake house just as Clint was running over to your body. He sighed watching them all disappear, hands resting on his hips as he stared straight ahead. Suddenly appearing next to him, Scott Lang grew to his normal size and took off his helmet as he stared down at you.
“Think it worked?” Scott asked as he took a few deep breaths.
Clint shrugged and reached into his quiver to pull out an arrow with a vial and syringe tip, the syringe filled with a yellow liquid, “Only one way to find out.”
~*~
While they were just forming a plan, your variant was already at her next destination. Landing with a thud, your variant straightened up and dusted herself off. She forced a smile on her face as she walked towards the front door of Tony’s home. It was quiet,  which made sense given how early in the morning it was. Everyone was likely asleep. She shook the smile off of her face quickly, changing her mind on how she wanted to approach this type of situation.
Standing in front of the door, she knocked on it quickly, debating on if it was too bold to just walk in there. After a moment, however, Tony opened the door, staring at her with his eyebrows raised in curiosity, “What’s up, buttercup? It’s late — or early, if you’re looking to get a worm.”
“No worms, just wanted to see my little sister!”
“She’s sleeping,” Tony replied.
“Right.”
“Are you okay? How was the gala?”
She blinked a few times, “Fine, fine! Yeah. I just, I had a fight with Shang. You know how it is when you’re married.”
Tony didn’t let it show, but the second you called him Shang instead of Shangqi, his fears had been confirmed. He sighed and nodded, crossing his arms over his chest as he studied her. “Do you want to come in?”
“Yes, absolutely. I think I need some time to be with my family,” she smiled softly and took a step closer, but Tony didn’t budge. She frowned, “Why aren’t you letting me in?”
“Wanted to see if you really thought I believed you. We both know you’re not my kid.”
A scowled crossed her face as her eyes darkened, “Well, neither is the bitch I left dead in the field,” she replied, smirking as she sensed Tony’s heart skip a beat. “Guess we know who’s stronger, don’t we?”
“You’re not coming in, bitch,” Tony snapped.
“Then I’ll bring the house down but leave little Morgan’s room perfectly in tact. After all, she’s just a kid, and she’ll need someone to look after her, someone like me.”
Tony nodded in agreement as he leaned against the doorframe, tapping it a few times before turning around and walking in. As he slammed the door shut, he shouted, “That’s my kid, not yours. Get lost, you multiverse loser.”
Fuming, she stepped back a few feet. Tony was being difficult. It left her with no choice. She took a few deep breaths, mustering up more strength as she prepared to strategically break this house into smithereens with everyone inside it, all the while trying to make sure Morgan’s room was undamaged.
However, once she saw the front door open again, she figured Tony was coming to fight her. She held her hand out and sent out a blast of vibrations that shattered the doorframe, sending a shower of wood splinters that would surely be a bitch to clean up. She expected Tony to have flown backwards and heard a crash, or at the very least, seen him standing there in shock with a hole in his stomach.
Instead, Tony stepped through the gaping hole  of a front door in a suit of all silver. She was stunned as Tony seemed completely unharmed. His suit didn’t even have a single scratch on it. She stared at him in shock while Tony tilted his head to the side.
He chuckled, “So, you’re stronger, but I guess you’re not smarter, huh, kiddo? Vibranium-laced suits. We’ve made friends with a few people down in Wakanda, in case you were wondering.”
Suddenly, there was a feral shrieking noise in the distance. Coming out of the sky was you. You landed with a mighty thud on the ground, similar to how your counterpart had moments ago. You stood up tall, eyes glowing the brightest gold they ever had in the past. You were huffing and puffing, the ground trembling beneath you as you cracked your neck and stared at your counterpart.
“I killed you,” she hissed. “Your heart stopped beating. I felt it.”
“Oh, okay.” You nodded quickly. “My turn then, I guess.”
The other Avengers arrived just as you went to attack, but they didn’t engage in the fight when they saw you. All of them were far too stunned. Tony went back into the house to get Pepper and Morgan and clear the area. Shangqi stood there as stunned as the rest of them.  They watched you leap forward, hands outstretched in front of you and a look of rage on your face they hadn’t seen before.
“This is my life,” you snapped. “Not yours!”
Her hand came up to block your attack, but it didn’t work. You were so strong, your vibrations overpowered hers, shattering her hand on impact. She screamed in agony and raised her other hand, her powers shoving you back and started to splinter your bones from within. You screamed and stomped your foot on the ground. The ground ripped in half beneath her and sent her stumbling back.
While she was stumbling, you stared at her and raised your fist like you were going to stop your heart. She was expecting this move from you, and she jumped into the air to try to make some distance and keep you from doing this. Figuring that she was going to try and run, you jumped in the air with her and grabbed her.
Your fist ripped through her chest.  You grabbed her heart in your hand and squeezed it yourself until you felt it popping and squishing between your fingers. You watched the life drain out of your own eyes, the soft golden glow from her fading away into nothing as you let her go and let her body fall on the ground.
You landed in front of her, the force of your landing splintering the legs on an already-dead body. You stood up slowly and looked down at your hands. One arm was coated in blood thanks to her, but you could see both your forearms were bruised and shaking like when you were a child and tried to hold back all your power. You glanced at your bicep on your right and saw the bruises were traveling, meaning the power in you was a struggle to contain.
But you were so angry.
You knew this was going to happen. You knew, and yet, you still felt incredibly unprepared. You flirted with death and killed yourself to save your family, but you couldn’t stop shaking and causing havoc around you. This should’t have been happening to you, because you shouldn’t even be alive right now.
As the panic set in, the realization of your ferocity, that you were alive, your control slipped away. Cracks started racing to the house, splitting the porch in half before more cracks began to form along the walls. The ground beneath you wouldn’t stop rumbling as the earth started to break  beneath you and spread to towards the lake.
“It’s happening again,” Steve shouted. “Tony!”
“On it!” Tony was about to take a step towards you, but Morgan grabbed his hand.
He looked down as Morgan looked up at him, “Please don’t die again, daddy.”
Tony’s shoulders sunk. It was a very real possibility that he could die. He hadn’t actually tested the suit against you. He wasn’t sure how much it could withstand, which meant that he had no idea how long he had. He exhaled slowly and squeezed her hand, “I won’t, Morguna. I’ll be right back. I just have to talk to your sister —“
“She’s going to kill you!” Morgan screeched in fear.
Tony didn’t have the chance to move. You heard Morgan’s cries and whipped around. When you made eye contact with her, you were frozen in pain. Morgan was terrified of you, and it made you feel so much worse. The panic, the feelings of dread you were feeling caused you to lose another ounce of control, and it split the house down the middle.
Natasha exhaled and grabbed Scott and Clint by their elbows, “What the hell did you two idiots do?”
“It’s an old contingency plan,” Clint reasoned, his adam’s apple bobbing as everyone slowly started to turn to face him. “Vibranium tipped arrow. It was…well, supposed to kill her or maim her when she got too crazy. It’s a last-resort arrow.”
“You killed her?” Shangqi snapped.
“Not quite,” Scott spoke up. “We used it as a delivery system for me. It was dark, you can barely see the arrow when it’s flying. I was on the tip, and we dosed her up with enough of a little simple syrup — that’s a joke, it wasn’t simple syrup —“
“To stop her heart,” Clint said. “And then we brought her back with some adrenaline and a few more things.”
“What things?” Steve glared as he marched towards him. “What the hell is she on? Why do you even have this?”
“Don’t look at me! Tony made it after Ultron! She almost killed herself in that fight she was so exhausted. He wanted her to have a little boost for the event she’s, uh, fading too much in battle.”
“So you put a relatively unstable woman on steroids,” Stephen deadpanned. “Fantastic.”
Shangqi looked around. These people were actually scared and unsure of what to do, but it was you. It was just you, deep down inside there, and he’d seen this before. You were scared, you were panicking. Okay, you were causing a bit more chaos, but…
“Okay. The lake is now moving,” Clint cleared his throat. “I’ll talk to her—“
“No,” Shangqi dropped the rings from his forearms. “I’ve got it.”
He sidestepped Natasha quickly. Before she could stop him, he was walking towards you and feeling the ground shake anymore. He cringed, a twinge of pain racing up his foot as he approached you. You could hear a new, closer heartbeat, and you turned to Shangqi.
“Get away,” you cautioned him. “Something’s , something’s not right and I —“
“I know. Don’t worry.”
“I’m dead. Right?” You breathed. “This is just a dream?”
“Sorry, you’re stuck with me for the long-haul, babe,” Shangqi smiled softly at you, hands stuffed into his pockets. “So what’s say we head back to the compound, shower, talk.”
“Shangqi..” you trailed off and looks to your corpse. “I’m a monster.”
“What? That? No! Pffft, I would’ve done it myself,” he joked, but you weren’t laughing. “Babe come on —“
“My sister is terrified of me, I destroyed her home, and even I’m shocked with what I just did to her.”
“You’re still my wife,” Shangqi said softly. “You’re still my wife, who I will stay with until the very end. If you want to stay here and destroy everything, do it,” he cringed when he was certain he felt his ankle snap from the vibrations on the ground constantly drumming on his bones. He put his weight on his other leg, and you frowned when you realized what you were doing to him, what he was willing to do for you. “So, if this is the end…I’m here.”
“You’re crazy.”
“Crazy for you,” He grinned. “You’re okay. Everyone’s okay. Scared? Probably. You’re scary, but you’re hot when you’re scary, so that’s something, right?”
You laughed in disbelief and shook your head, “You are so stupid.”
“Yeah, but I’m your stupid husband,” he smiled at you and outstretched his hand, ignoring how he could see his fingertips started to bruise and turn red and purple. “Come on, babe. It’s just me. You can relax now. It’s over. You can rest now.”
You focused on your breathing first. You slowed it down until you were confident you had it under control without focusing so much on it. You shut your eyes and worked on stopping all of the vibrations and the shaking.
You weren’t sure when it happened, but, eventually, it stopped. You felt a hand take yours, and you opened your eyes to see Shangqi staring at you, slowly leaning in to press his forehead against yours. His eyes shut as he too finally relaxed. He exhaled, his breath catching in his chest as tears fell from his closed eyes and his other hand came up to cup your face, “I thought you were gone.”
You nodded and leaned into his hand, “Me too.” You exhaled, “Shangqi,”
“Yeah?”
“I can’t do this anymore.”

Part 2 of this post, a team of exploring miners encountering the ancient vampire Shang Tsung AU - just want to say that a certain tall miner didn't die during the vampire attack.
(Sorry again, not a native English speaker and too lazy…and have a bad memory too)
______________________
Something something after killing and feeding on two (or three?) of the miners, vampire Shang Tsung bit the neck of that certain tall miner 😈 who had been badly wounded earlier by the vampire's claws therefore could not escape when his two team mates died.
and something something again, on the brink of death, a green magic beam left the dying miner's right hand and pushed vampire Shang Tsung away.
They were both surprised by this sudden change. The tall miner was confused and couldn't understand why he was capable of doing that. Before he passed out because of blood loss and exhaustion, he heard vampire Shang Tsung's laughter and the creature saying something like "ah, you are a sorcerer too."
______________________
Not sure if a sorcerer's blood would taste different to a vampire sorcerer. :D Or if vampire Shang Tsung would want a takeaway dinner later on that day, or the next several days. 🥡🥡🥡

Another Spring Request
27. Allergies with Shang-Chi
Happy Writing
A/N - AWWWW, I love this Stella! Thanks for requesting a cute Shang Chi prompt, bestie!
Summary - Shang loved the spring. You on the other hand, hate it.
Tumblr media
Warnings - Only some fluff!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"How are you feeling?"
"Like shit,"
"Shouldn't have asked,"
You blew your nose and tossed the ruined tissue into the waste bin next to your bed, then you reached over to use some nasal spray. Shang was sitting on the edge of your bed with an amused tone. Your nose was red and runny, your eyes glossy and tears threatening to come out from constant sneezing, and the perfect afternoon that Shang planned out was ruined.
All thanks to your allergies.
You two barely started dating, only for a month, and you still have that new relationship feeling between the pair of you. Katy was the one who got you two together, and she was immensely proud that you two were an official item. Shang was shy when he asked you out on a date, which was nothing rather big but a trip to a food truck parking lot and then a small trolley ride to one of his favorite parks.
He wanted it nice and simple, a great tip he got from Katy since he asked her plenty of questions about you and what you liked. You found it quite sweet that he wanted to do his research through Katy,, and once he confessed that to you, a blush was on his cheeks.
You kissed his cheek in return, almost having him pass out cold.
But now that Spring that came to the city, Shang wanted to take you out to the flowers that just bloomed right outside of the major city. You thought it was a great idea until you got hit with your allergies halfway through the date.
Thank goodness for Shang being considerate and taking you right home.
"Katy should be back with your medicine," Shang said as he looked at his phone for the time.
"I can manage with my nose drops for now," You pressured him as you sat up in your bed and rubbed your tired eyes, "I've had worse when I was younger,"
"I still feel bad, and you told me you had allergies," Shang said in a remorseful tone as he rubbed the back of his neck nervously. You gave him a grin, seeing the torn look on his face and wishing to brighten his spirits.
"For the fact that we've been only dating for a month, I won't hold this one against you. Now the next time this happens, I will," You teased, Shang giving you a small look. You had to smile at the situation since you knew that this was a simple allergy that would happen to you constantly.
"Shang, it's gonna be okay," You said to him calmly, "You did good with the flower fields. I just didn't take my medicine beforehand, and I tend to forget to do that a lot,"
"I know, I just wanted to make it special and perfect," Shang explained, you raised an eyebrow at him.
"Since when do I want perfect?" You questioned, seeing him pause and freeze as you went on, "Perfection is boring! There's nothing truly good and joyful that comes from being perfect."
Shang paused, drinking in what you told him as you grinned and leaned back against your pillows. You only heard some of his background and childhood, and you knew he was always under pressure even as a little boy. Although he did leave some big pieces of his life out from your talks and conversations, you knew he would tell you in his own time. But you knew Shang knew all about perfection and striving for it. And maybe hearing you tell him not to be perfect with you, shook his core for a moment.
"I hate perfection," You reminded him calmly, "I just want you. And I would hope you'd want me, allergies and all,"
Shang had to chuckle at how you were attempting to break him out of his mind racing and his low mood.
"It's true! My allergies are so bad in the Spring, not to mention how I can't take on spicey food for the life of me. And flowers, don't get me anywhere near roses! I would take peonies and daisies any day,"
"Good to know," Shang replied in his light tone, the burden was finally lifted off of him, "And just so you know, I want you too,"
"I'm glad we're on the same page," You hummed, Shang leaning in to kiss you as you were ready for him. But you sneezed right before he could, Shang dodging the sneeze just in time as you groaned and blew your nose again.
"I promise to try and not kill you on our next date. We're going to go to the movies," Shang said in a chuckle.
The End.
