I think you're bleeding." "What!? From where?" she panicked a little bit since she hadn't noticed before. One of her hands instinctively patted around her head. When she held it in front of her face, she was surprised to see dark red stains covering her fingers. "It's okay, it's just a small wound. And I think it clotted up already," Aang stated, parting her hair from the source of her bleeding. He was right, the tiny cut had already begun to heal on its own. Katara sat down on the nearest patch of rock so she could quicken the healing process with her waterbending. She dropped her pouch on the edge of the rock and summoned the remaining water around her hand, gently lifting it above the wound. The water began to glow in a familiar light blue hue. Sidians were created by mixing the genes of races similar to elven kind and humans. Their common lifepan was up to 150 years at most.

Their hair most commonly jet black, while some had white patches included. Other hair colors include brown. While some had a sheen of blue, green, red or yellow. The rarest hair colors were the color of fire.

Their eyes commonly black, red or white. Blue being super rare, which made it easy to spot that Valryn wasn't normal since birth.

All of them owned small pointed ears, and were quite tall and lean. Rare Sidians had black gemstones upon their skin, a sign of strength in magic or physical strength. A lot of them bought gemstones to get engraved into their bodies, due to their race being one of the few lower races with barely any gemstones upon them in birth. The lack of them is seen as weak in the world of Kristal. Valryn never had any when he was born.

The royal family ruled over the Sidians, the bloodline of Valryn. They were both feared and respected to the end. They had the most control upon everything, including the wars they suffered against other races. It was known that the royal family had contact with their God, Shard, who was one that pushed them for bad deeds, especially when Valryn's half brother was a King.

Their type of living was similar to medieval times, mixed with fantasy, due to magical gems being a common use for basic daily tasks. To set fires, to give light, to give water, to cool down etc. Cooling down especially was common due to living near a dead volcano, that had left behind hot magical gemstones that continued to emit heat into the air over the years.

Their city was not accepting of others, only some travelers and adventures dared to come in. This was mainly, due to the engraved jealousy towards other races, that had shaped into hatred and made it difficult to trade with others or to get along without conflict.

In current times, the Sidians are near extinct, only a few remains in the world, hidden among other races. One cause for their extinction was caused by Valryn when his curse went out of control. The town was destroyed into a rubble along with its people. The ones that survived, where years later hunted down by other Gods, due to the banishment of Sha El Dur, which meant anything he created needed to be destroyed.

Soooo… I'll see you at the concert? 😏

I found out about the event somewhere at the end of 2023. Fast-forward to New Year's Day (January 1st 2024) with me promising myself to make this the best year I've had in a while due to everything that happened last year, when I find myself scrolling through local airlines and crosschecking the dates of the concert.. and there's a PERFECT MATCH!

Took me less than 2 days to come to the decision that this is the chance of a lifetime and if I miss this, I'll regret it for the rest of my life. Booked my vacation at work, bought a ticket in the early morning and roughly 1 week later:

IT'S BEAUTIFUL! 🤩 I deliberately ordered a physical copy because of the gorgeous artwork so I could keep it as a souvenir. I just watched Michaela's (Toph's voice actor's) short summary of her trip to London for the opening night and I've seen the photos on the official website gallery, but.. I won't spoil myself by actually listening to any of the music.

If this experience is as amazing as I think it's gonna be, it'll be one of the best days in my entire life! I'm gonna need to bring more tissues.. for tearbending… 🤧

"Your heartbeat is one of my favourite sounds in the whole world." (X) Katara blushed and gave him one of the most loving smiles he'd ever seen, but otherwise remained quiet.

I've never drawn a more in-love Katara before (look at her adorable face! 😙). I got this image in my head - where Katara would be sitting up in their bed, slightly leaned forward with the blanket covering her pulled up knees, and gazing at Aang fondly while he listens to her heart with her stethoscope, her hand resting on his own to hold it in place on the right spot - and I HAD TO draw it.

I was sketching the lineart for another drawing the day before, but it has a very heavy theme which made me feel a sudden unease and left a hollow feeling in my stomach. So I felt like I needed to draw something sweet and self-indulgent just for myself to counter my anxiety and calm myself down. Then, halfway through the process, I figured this would be a perfect fit for the "quiet moments" prompt (cause y'know.. Katara would have to be very quiet for Aang to listen). Now that I'm suffering (and already recovering) from covid, it's even more comforting and heartwarming for me to look at. 💓

I guess this could be him checking on her after she's been ill (with a cold) for a while, but she's finally starting to feel like her normal self and is nearly recovered by now.. Or maybe Katara's pretending to be sick so Aang would play doctor with her (cause then he'd get to touch her medical instruments too, since she doesn't want him toying with her healer stuff from work).. OR it's just smth they both like to do sometimes (e.g. before bedtime) to show / reaffirm how much they love each other since it's soothing to hear your loved one's heartbeat (especially knowing how much Katara means to Aang, with her being the reincarnated form of the Air Nomads' love and all, imagine what this would mean to him - Aang would be over the moon and take such good care of her). 🩺

I don't know, take your pick. I'm feeling warm and fuzzy inside. :3 (If I come up with a cute fic idea, I'll write smth around the 2 sentences above.)

Since I won't have enough time to finish these 2 submissions in time before @kataang-week ends this year, I decided to post previews of them: a messy draft from the fanfic that I intend to write for "Healing Techniques" (which was one of the prompts I submitted for voting this year and the only one to be chosen) as well as a sketch with some finished lineart from the drawing masterpiece for "Power Couple" (I also sent in several other keywords that would correspond to my initial idea, but none of them ended up in the final selection, so this is the next best thing I can connect it with).

Unfortunately, work and real life have been getting in my way so much that I barely have time to write or draw anything anymore (not to mention keep up with social media). Hence why I haven't worked on the fic and related drawing I planned to do for my prompt "Role Swap" last year either. I'm sad and sorry about that.. but I will get to them. I promise! 😭
