it's wild playing fallen london and warframe at the same time. FL players talk about grinding or min-maxing and i get that the railway/lab/bone market/parabola synergy is confusing and tedious, but once i had a guide and could wrap my head around it, it became fairly predictable. in FL endgame you end up hitting the same general series of buttons and the numbers go up. it's glorified cookie clicker with a company-mandated limit of clicks per day so you don't pass out at your computer. in warframe, in order to get one (1) part of octavia prime, i had to run several fruitful waves of hard disruption missions (defuse a bomb by smashing it while it's running at you like a horse from a random direction), several fruitless waves of hard interception missions (capture the flag x4 with time limit; you are likely solo and your enemies are not). and i had to fucking talk to total strangers to max out (at least they were nice). and then i alt+tab to check loot tables and it's 1 am

haven't worked on my js&mn/fallen london crossover in a hot minute (which means 'like 2 years idk'). but i'm fairly certain last night i had a dream where, like, the rifts between realities opened and jonathan strange literally took a chunk out of the fallen london universe and crumpled it into a ball and stared at young!jovial contrarian as he said "no i'm retconning this i'm your dad now". what the HELL did that mean.
