(maybe mildly nsfw because of language/themes)
Just realized that because of Endgame’s ending, the makeout scene between Steve and Sharon in Civil War puts him close to the same moral standing as Frank Reynolds from It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia in at least one respect. https://youtu.be/wu70DP33WAI
Tumblr media
I had never seen that series before but I'm guessing the show didn't treat that as a positive thing? Or if it did, I guess it was within the context of a comedic show, which means they can get away with pretty much anything without it being a problem.
The main issue with CW and EG is that I don't think they had the script for the latter prepared back in 2016, so that scene retrospectively brings up a lot of questions and none of them good. It bothers me mostly because Sharon was a fantastic character, she nailed it in TWS and for whatever little scenes she had in CW she had an actual role, good characterization... it would have worked out just fine if Steve had stayed in the present and returned to her post-EG -- mostly because he and Agent Nazi never really had anything other than her kissing him once -- but that was never going to happen.
I vaguely remember the Russos (or was it the writers?) saying they wanted Steve and Sharon to be in a relationship at the beginning of EG, only to have them break up on-screen so they could then send Steve back to Agent Brexit at the end. Not only that sounds absolutely disgusting, but it kind of proves the idea they had that Sharon was not an actual character, she was no more than an excuse, a scapegoat that needed to be brought down and ridiculed just so that Steve could find his way back to a woman he barely knew.
Just look at what they did to Sharon in What If.
So in short: Steve was completely ooc in EG so that ending never happened, that was the Skrulls messing with our minds = he's not like Frank.

The Iowa House approved a bill aimed at improving literacy rates for Iowa students, allowing parents to have their child repeat a grade if they are not proficient in reading and adding new educational requirements for teachers.
House File 2618 passed on a 92-3 vote Tuesday. The bill would require schools to notify parents or guardians of students in kindergarten through sixth grade who are not reading at grade-level proficiency, and inform them of their ability to request that their child repeat a grade. Students who are not meeting literacy benchmarks will be given a personalized plan to assist them until they are able to read at grade level.
Rep. Sharon Steckman, D-Mason City, said many of the measures required by the bill are efforts teachers already take to improve literacy outcomes with students.
“Teachers watch out for kids that are not reading at grade level already,” Steckman said. “Teachers talk to parents already. Teachers put forth an (Individualized Education Program), or some sort of a plan for that student to get on grade level already. So much of this we’re already doing.”
She also praised the bill for being “toned down” from Gov. Kim Reynolds’ original proposal. When Reynolds brought up legislation at the beginning of session as a way to improve literacy rates in Iowa schools, she proposed requiring Iowa teacher licensure candidates in early childhood, elementary, K-12 reading and literacy preparation programs, as well as those in special education, to pass the Foundations of Reading assessment to graduate.
The passing requirement for teacher licensure was removed in a House amendment, but education program students would still be required to take the assessment, with results reported to the Iowa Department of Education.
Related California Considers ‘Science of Reading’ Bill, as 6 in 10 Students Lag Behind
The House bill also omits some of the prescriptions on reading instruction and literacy strategies present in the Senate’s version related to the teaching of phonics — teaching the sounds of letters to learn how to read — and banning certain literacy teaching strategies associated with rote memorization or contextual clues to identify a written word.
These measures were discussed in the context of the “science of reading” teaching methods that put a larger emphasis on phonics to improve young students’ reading and language abilities. Other states, including Mississippi, have seen improvements in national reading scores after adopting the approach.
Reynolds said in January that while Iowa did not see the drops in reading scores in recent years that other states have, “holding steady isn’t good enough” for Iowa students. The results from the 2022-2023 Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress showed that 34% of Iowa third-graders were not yet proficient in English Language Art skills. Studies have found that students not proficient at reading in third grade face greater difficulties with academics and in their personal life as they age.
Rep. Tom Moore, R-Griswold, thanked Reynolds’ office for working with lawmakers to come up with a “good compromise” on how to approach improving reading education for Iowa students. Moore agreed with Steckman on the bill’s provisions being strategies many Iowa teachers already employ — but said that it was important to ensure all students get more literacy support as needed.
“Obviously, we wouldn’t be in the middle of the pack nationally reading-wise if all of our teachers were doing some of these things,” Moore said.
The legislation heads to the Senate for further consideration.

Rachel Mcadams would have killed it as Barbie. Margot Robbie is good at playing bpd people like Harley Quinn, tonya Harding and even her Sharon Tate all had this uncanny child like quality that came off really unhinged and I think she’s going to play barbie like that. But I think Rachel Mcadams would have been better bc she’s closer to Ryan Reynolds age and they had that history and she would have given the character a more operatic porcelain doll who wants to be human type quality. Like she would have given the drama and the depression that would have made barbie a more complex character. Like if they ever make a barbie movie where she kills herself in the end like madame butterfly…..rachel Mcadams would be perfect

From Lily Graham's Simstagram
Living in Strangerville with my husband Baker and our daughter Zoe has been such a blessing! Our trailer might be small, but our hearts are large, and I couldn't ask for a better village to raise my children with, especially with my in-laws and my sister Daisy and her family living close by! Little Zoe has been growing so fast, and she and her grandpa Mark are particularly close. My dad has always been so distant from us children and left everything to my mom, it's so lovely to see Baker so involved with her, and it's easy to see where he got it from!
Tumblr media
But things are changing so fast! My father-in-law Mark is about to retire from the military, and that's not the only thing that's changing! He's engaged to my very good friend Kathryn Evans, and he'll be moving back to San Myshuno with his kids! We're so very sad to see him go, and we'll miss him and Riker and Sharon terribly, but it's such a joy to see my friend so happy, and I'm sure she and Mark will be so very happy together!
Tumblr media
Mark will leave both his home and the little home church Reynold Evans built here in my and Baker's hands, and while I'm concerned about the responsibility, especially because we hope to expand our family once again soon, I'm also excited! I've always wondered what the Watcher called me to, and as it turns out, he called me to be a home church pastor's wife! There's so many young men and women here on base, lost and far away from their families, and it'll be such a blessing to minister to them and lead them to the Watcher! I can't wait for him to use me this way!
(Phrasing, girl, PHRASING!)

Gaylene Golden, 21 (USA 1985)
Tumblr media
21-year-old Gaylene Golden was pregnant with her second baby. According to the records available, her son’s father was either dead or absent. Gaylene ended up undergoing a “safe and legal” abortion done by Joe Bills Reynolds in Oklahoma City. She didn’t know that her son was about to be alone.
The abortionist lacerated Gaylene’s cervix so badly that she suffered from both an air embolism and an amniotic fluid embolism. She died that day along with her youngest child. Had she known about the kind of malpractice that went on every day in that facility, she most likely never would have even considered going.
Reynolds, who performed a variety of elective and cosmetic operations, was completely incompetent and careless. The filthy operating room in his facility was littered with dirty cups and papers. He was sued four times in 1990 alone for malpractice. He let his 60-year-old janitor administer anesthesia. His “nurse” was actually untrained. He reportedly paid a hypnotist to see his clients.
His maltreatment of his clients extended to his marriage. He performed many cosmetic surgeries on his own wife (Sharon Reynolds) over the course of their 18-year marriage, including liposuction and artificial breast enhancements. He even removed Sharon’s ovaries because he decided “they were making her too fat”. Sharon attempted suicide at least once while married to him. She died during one of the many cosmetic surgeries when her husband stood there and let her bleed to death. He then tried to collect a $518,798 life insurance policy from her death.
The lawsuit over Gaylene’s death was settled for only $125,000. It wasn’t until 6 months after Reynolds killed his wife that he had his medical license revoked and was charged with with second-degree murder.
Gaylene, her child and everyone else Reynolds mutilated and killed should never have been subjected to these horrors.
