I led a meeting today and I started it off with "I am very nervous please be patient with me" and everyone was so gracious and laughed it off but THEN afterwards three people stayed behind to tell me what a good job I did and they appreciated my kindness and compassion while leading. I am getting a good grade in leading meetings, something that is normal to want and possible to achieve (apparently).

I made my box of treats for the mail carriers a couple weeks back after a game:

And they have been taking treats!!! They like the Pepperidge Farms cookies and the Gatorade best. If someone took all the cookies, the others will take Chewy bars s'mores flavor. We almost ran out of Gatorade this week so I bought orange Gatorade and they like that much better than blue Gatorade. I tried to get a variety of snacks that included gluten free and protein but these dudes just want chessman haha. It's funny finding out people's tastes in food this way. I realize this entire thing is absolutely WASPy suburban Facebook mom coded of me but they do seem to enjoy it and it's always nice to do something for the brave men and women in blue (the US postal service). I think I might continue after the holidays or at least make sure there is water and Gatorade out everyday. My parents have been putting out fruit from our trees too. We had fuyu persimmons a couple weeks ago but they just put out a whole bunch of tangerines, which are probably easier to manage as a mail carrier haha.

December is turning out okay. Winter is full of horrors and familial minefields and many things both in the world and in my life are bad but there always nice things too!!

#unfortunately while walking the dog i realized that if i do TOO good a job at leading meetings they might make me MC the all staff meeting #fear. #but i think they're looking for someone calm to lead the all-staff bc the last one was so bad someone got put on administrative leave #AND it's my birthday next monday and my mom asked what i wanted and i said hushpuppies and she was like oh hell yeah #i mean she was also like you need a protein and a veggie but the important part is i get hushpuppies and i get introduce my uncle to #hushpuppies AND my mom is thrilled at the idea of making a proper southern dinner #life could be and has been worse. maybe this month we go out strong to make up for the rest of the year #fresno oilers.txt

so we suspect one of our dogs grew up abused which is. a terrible way to start this. but we've had her for five or six years now and she still retains a lot of her habits but its very cute to see how our love for her has changed her. youll see her all curled up tail tucked in ears flat as you approach but shes making these tiny little tail wags anyway.

#when we first adopted her she was soo scared she hid and bit and ran away. and shes still very scared but in a shaky way not a running way. #she loves getting pets from me lol. #and she could not handle my dad for the longest time and she still fairly cautious but now she'll come up to him for pets! its so sweet #and when a lot of people when come over she used to nip at heels but i think shes taught herself to just hide under the bed instead #and even then! sometimes she comes down of her own accord! #she loves belly rubs. and when i hold her tiny head between my hands and grind down on her skull. #now that shes getting up there in age + we think she was a mom before we adopted her she has difficulty getting onto couches #and shes been doing this thing where when you sit down and she wants to join when you bend down to pick her up she'll run from your hand #and i think she likes it because shes like running and jumping and wagging her tail and showing her belly. shes such a freak. #and she jumps like a bunny rabbit for treats its so cute its my moms nickname for her. #and shes always walking underfoot because shes a freak #and occasionally if you pet her wrong she'll snap and you and then immediately get really apologetic and wanting pets its so sad #this has just been me talking about my dog. i love my dog. ill post a picture of my dog.

one day my anxiety is going to kill me

#just nervous rambles before i leave the house ignore me i feel like talking #meine belastbarkeit? geht gegen null #but hey at least i no longer get proper anxiety/panic attacks #i used to have attacks when going to my therapist i couldn't go in we would have to go for a walk lest i feel like i was about to die #i did cried yesterday and nothing bad happened just me being a fucking baby and terrified of messing up #and now i feel so much trepidation of because today is another day to mess up #it helps to think of one of my dogs and how scared she wasof going to the vet (and of other things and how brave she was) #we would have to carry her through the entrance lest she vomit #and there was no way to sooth her and explain what was happening #she would be paralyzed and just let things happen #and it helps to think about that and how she made it through and how i know what is happening and yes it is scary #but it is good and it's growth and i've grown so much and that i can do it if she could do it #it's silly but it has actually helped #meins

I just fucking love it when someone has dogs that are too strong for them and one of them is dog aggressive and not wearing a muzzle. Just love it. And don't get angry when I need to physically kick your dog away after it bit both me and my dog, be happy my almost 40 kilo dog listened to me and did not bite back. Fucking hell.

Crazy week! Took my cat to the vet yesterday. Then today I was hanging out with a friend and her neighbor frantically knocked on the door saying her roommates dog was dying and she needed a ride to the vet. So I went again, and stayed there with her while they checked the dog out. Not to mention a debilitating text convo with my ex on Monday and also a strange interaction yesterday and this week is just wild.

love waking up to my mom giving me an ultimatum and ordering that i have to give up my (admittedly expensive) apartment 1n 2 weeks and move back home for good. i had stuff to do today but i guess being gripped by dread and anxiety works too
