Imo (full disclosure I haven’t watched classic who yet): your doctor / your favorite doctor, is different from “the best doctor” (if you consider there to be a “best” doctor)

But I also don’t think that there is or can be a “best” doctor.

They’re all the Doctor, every Doctor is the Doctor.

And how on earth are you supposed to measure the strength of a character if they don’t change? Especially with Doctor Who?

idk really, it’s just that I’ve seen a lot of people criticizing 13 (as the Doctor) lately it just made me think about the nature of the show and of the Doctor as a character.

I’m just saying that for a show about a character that literally changes every few seasons, some people don’t seem to be open to anything that’s a little different from what they’re used to.

I dreamt I was in a dw episode with Amy, Rory, 11, River and Clara and someone got kidnapped so we were running through this prison like place without windows in search of them. We were being chased by what we thought were weeping angels but something didn't add up and we kept losing each other and forgetting what we had been doing.

Anyway I was freeing all these other prisoners - all women I think - because I could not find my friends and by that time I had forgotten who I was looking for. And the prisoners were all really sweet (although various degrees of terrified) and had no idea what was going on either. But they followed me readily.

And then it turned out the weeping angels were only psychic holograms that took on whatever form you were afraid of (which actually doesn't sound reassuring at all since image of an angel and so on) and we were actually being manipulated by the Silence. But once we had found that out we could suddenly see the others again. And of course the Doctor and River had worked out by now how to save the day.

So then I just let them lead us towards victory or whatever and fell back. Where one of the sidecharacters I had freed started flirting with me.
