ONE — MAYBE I COULD FIX HIM ?
Tumblr media
with the week you're having, you don't have it in you anymore to deal with anymore bullshit and take it out on your asshole of a roommate gojo satoru (3.8k words)
content. cheating (we don’t do the cheating), named ex: hiroto, shoko is an extremely good judge of character, geto suguru the man that you are, gojo is a bit of an asshole, reader goes off at the end (rightfully so) <33
Tumblr media
Whoever said that if you do what you love, you'll never work another day in your life was a liar. Sure it was a well-meaning sentiment and while it filled your soul with some semblance of hope on some days, it was the main reason you were struggling with your degree and drowning in work.
So much for dreaming big…
“What’s got your panties in a twist?” the girl questioned. The smoke from her cigarette created an odour that permeated the air as you let out a sigh, leaning back on the wall.
“That shit’s gonna kill you one day.” you muttered moving your head toward the cigarette in between her fingers as you turned your attention to the scene in front of you, waiting for her to finish.
“Make sure I have a nice funeral.” she chuckled before puffing out a cloud of smoke as she pulled the cigarette away from her mouth. When you didn't laugh at her comment, she just stared at you. Your eyes were closed and breathing a little jagged as she observed. Did you think she wouldn't notice?
Ieriri does not reveal much about herself, but everyone that was friends with her knew she was deathly loyal and cared for her friends in a unique way. She put the stick up to her mouth inhaling as she spoke, "You look like shit.”
“You know how my afternoon lectures are.” she sighed.
She put out her cigarette in the ashtray bin and tucked her hands into her pocket. She was not at all convinced by your story.
“Hold it Missy.” she demanded and of course your feet stopped in its tracks before her, “Tell me what’s wrong now.”
“I’ve been hearing things about Hiroto.”
You don’t think you’ve met someone that hated Hiroto more than your best friend herself. Her eyes rolled to the back of her head as you mentioned your boyfriend or as she called him ‘he-who-must-not-be-named’. She crossed her arms over her chest and sighed, her lips pulling into a pout. She always had a thing for the dramatics.
"What else is new? Hiroto is a scumbag."
"Ieiri!" you scolded, frowning at her choice of words.
She scoffed with a shrug before she linked your arms in hers and started walking toward the cafe. You had no idea what she had against Hiroto. He was the most popular guy in your university, and he was the one everyone wanted to be with, but it came as a surprise when he chose you. He had eyes for you, and you couldn't understand why anyone would want you of all people so he asked you out one day and you didn't have the heart to say no. Even if you had liked him at the time, which you didn’t, you still couldn't have said no, it would have been an opportunity wasted. He wasn’t the nicest guy but you would say he treated you well so you defended him every time.
“I still don't understand what you see in him.”
You smiled faintly, “As much as you doubt him, he really does care about me."
You could tell that Ieiri didn’t approve. She never made her opinion on him a secret, and you don’t expect her to start now.
She rolled her eyes again and sighed, "Yeah, well you should really find someone better, like a certain someone."
It was your turn to roll your eyes at the thought of who she was referring to: a certain white haired roommate of yours.
“I hope you’re not trying to suggest who I think you are?” you stated as she gave you a sly smirk before shrugging.
“Have things with Satoru been better?”
You paused, contemplating on how to respond as you both walked into the cafe. You turned your attention to the menu as you stood in line. Your eyes scanned over the pamphlet you received when you walked in as you also looked at the assortment of baked goods and pastries.
"I still can't quite figure him out." you muttered as you stared at some of the menu items.
Her curiosity was piqued as you said this, already knowing what she would order as she stared at you now. "What's he up to now?" she asked.
When you got to university, you opted to follow your dreams and your heart and while you looked forward to finishing your degree, reaching your dreams and goals was expensive, which was something you had known as a teen. It explained why you had to get a job that definitely does not pay minimum wage and why you had to room with Satoru Gojo, as per Ieiri’s request, just to be able to do what you love.
At first, you had thanked Ieiri for convincing the prestigious Gojo Satoru to be your roommate at the start but when he moved in, you were less than grateful.
Gojo Satoru was a scion of a wealthy and successful family making him the epitome of privilege: rich, handsome, and effortlessly at the top of his class without ever needing to study– he pretty much had everything handed to him on a silver platter.
The first few months were turbulent, to say the least. Gojo acted like a spoiled prince, which was not surprising, always expecting things to be done for him and showing little regard for your personal space or boundaries. Arguments were frequent and inevitable but you shouldn't be complaining, he was the one paying most of the rent.
Entitlement dripped from his every pore but then something shifted. With you trying to assert your own space and independence against his behaviour and actions, it was as though he had picked up on your growing frustration and decided to turn over a new leaf or whatever.
It started with small gestures- he'd clean up after himself, occasionally ask if you needed anything from the store, and even helped out with chores around the apartment. These moments, though rare, caught you off guard. You couldn't help but wonder if it was all an act, a facade he put on simply because you were sharing a living space. Deep down, you were convinced that the 'nice' Gojo was just a pretence to keep the peace.
Yet, there were times when you couldn't ignore the fact that he seemed genuinely concerned about you, though these moments were fleeting– hidden beneath layers of sarcasm and his usual arrogance.
“He is just utterly unpredictable." you sighed as you put a hand over your eyes in frustration.
"Sounds like Satoru." she chuckled.
“I don’t know, it just feels like he’s nice to me because I’m friends with you.”
Shoko raised an eyebrow, a hint of concern in her eyes. "Are you saying he's being fake around you because of our friendship?"
"Yeah, sometimes it feels that way. Like he's just putting on a show."
Shoko's lips pulled into a small frown, her eyebrows knitting together, "That doesn't sound like him at all. Maybe he's just trying to be friends with you."
You had been so focused on the topic at hand, you hadn't realised you were at the front of the line.
You shrugged, "It's probably nothing.”
"Stop thinking about Satoru, you’re holding up the line." she scoffed as she smiled at the cashier.
You gave the worker an apologetic smile before turning to the person behind you, "Sorry, about that."
After ordering your favourite drink and some pastries, you approached a small table to sit. “I don’t know. I mean I guess Gojo and I are friends but still, I’m a bit suspicious.”
“I don’t think he would do something like that for my sake.”
"It just feels like you're trying to get him on my good side, I wonder why that is." you hummed with a tilt of your head, raising your brows at her.
"I think my best friend just deserves someone better." she shrugged with a pout.
"And Gojo is 'someone better'?" you scoffed.
Her hesitance was telling and you could see the gears shifting in her head, "That's like asking if apple juice is better than orange juice."
You rolled your eyes at her and looked around the café. The coffee beans alongside the soft humming of the machine, muffled speaking, jazz that played through the speakers really defined the atmosphere. Perhaps this place would become a regular study spot if they nailed just how you liked your drinks.
“Thank you for coming with me by the way.”
“No problem.”
You had a small smile on your lips as Ieiri decided to fold the receipt she had in her hand into origami, your eyes leisurely scanned over the cafe's charming layout but then, as fate would have it, your heart suddenly felt like it had been gripped by an icy hand, causing it to skip a beat.
The cafe that once felt spacious now seemed to shrink around you, constricting your senses. Your gaze, once idly roaming the room, had fixated on an all-too-familiar figure.
There, amidst the warm, cosy ambiance of the cafe, sat Hiroto. He was not alone. He was sitting across from another girl, their faces close. A rare smile was etched across his features, who was she to be able to make him look at her like that? He had never looked at you that way…
Maybe it was a friend?
Ieiri, perceptive as ever, noticed the abrupt change in your expression. Her eyes followed your gaze instinctively, and when she locked onto what you were seeing, her face transformed from one of carefree enjoyment to sheer disbelief and anger.
Their smiles were flirtatious and you could feel the creeping feeling of fear settle in your bones.
They were completely engrossed in each other, oblivious to the world around them as they leaned in for a kiss. Definitely not a friend.
Ieiri was right. He was a scumbag.
Your mind couldn't quite grasp what was unfolding before your eyes, reality not even seeming real for a second.
Confrontation was the last thing on your mind. You didn't want to cause a scene, not here, not now, even if every fibre of your being screamed for justice.
Shoko's fingers tightened around her origami creation, crumpling it as her anger flared up. Her eyes locked onto the two with an intensity that could have scorched the room.
She had always been vocal about her disdain for him, and this seemed like the perfect moment to let it all out. Without hesitation, Shoko started to push her chair back, her intention clear: she was going to confront Hiroto, give him a piece of her mind, and let the whole café know about his deceit. To berate him for everything he did to you, everything he did that you were too blind to see. You sat there in silence, your heart heavy with disbelief and betrayal but instinctively your hand reached out for hers. You shook your head ever so slightly, silently pleading with her not to make a scene.
“We can't just let him get away with this." she whispered back, her frustration growing by the minute.
Shoko's anger was palpable, and her lips quivered with the words she wanted to unleash but she respected your unspoken plea, if only for now, and reluctantly sank back into her chair waiting for your order number to be called out. Once you received the drinks and pastries, the two of you continued walking back to your shared apartment, the weight of the situation heavy on your mind as a tear slipped from your eyes. You had no goddamn appetite now.
Tumblr media
The evening had taken an unsettling turn for you. After returning from a troubling encounter at the café that you wished you could just forget, you found yourself back in your cosy apartment that you shared with the Satoru Gojo, the most popular boy on campus.
As you pushed off your shoes and set them by the door, you overheard some of Gojo's friends chatting in the main area. Forcing a smile, you greeted the people in the room as Ieiri followed behind you, making her presence known as she greeted them as well. You placed the bag of pastries on the table, knowing that for certain, Gojo would inhale them when he got his hands on them.
“Hey, do you have a smoke?” Geto asked Ieiri as he looked over his shoulder. Next thing you knew, Geto had moved to sit across from you at the island counter while you sipped at your glass of water, mind wandering back to your jerk of a boyfriend. “How are you?” he inquired, patiently waiting for your response.
“I’m alright, thanks,” you mumbled, trying to muster a genuine smile in response to his concern.
Geto waved a hand in front of your face as your thoughts drifted. Suddenly, you were locked into eye contact with him. Leaning down to eye level, he asked, “You sure you’re okay? You look a bit tired,” a playful chuckle escaping his lips.
You sighed a little before shaking your head resolutely, “Just had a terrible fucking week.”
Geto chuckled, “Tell me about it.” he scoffed, commiserating with your struggles. Although he didn’t know the full story, it didn’t matter, you were seen for a second and it felt good, "I swear they have it out for us."
Ieiri was best friends with both Gojo and Geto in high school. You never really understood their dynamic at all but the brief interactions shared with Geto had been enough for you to come up with a comprehensive answer.
Many people around had said that Geto was like the sun personified, radiating this warmth and light wherever he went. His presence had an undeniable magnetic quality, drawing people toward him but he could leave an indelible mark on anyone in his presence. It was quite possible that what was true, made you smile a little.
Gojo's friends continued their lively chatter, sharing stories and laughter and it wasn’t until you heard the tap turn on that you realised Gojo is standing right next to you drinking water aswell.
“Hey. You smoking or what? I don’t have all day, Suguru,” Shoko chimed in, her voice cutting through the conversation.
“That shit will kill you one day Suguru.” he muttered next to you.
“Funny. You said the same thing to me today.” Ieiri commented and you could feel all their gazes land on you.
“I guess we’re a lot alike.” Gojo joked and you feel yourself smile at his words as Geto and Shoko shared a look.
Geto cleared his throat, a hand coming up to your shoulder, “Things will get better, I promise.” he smiled as both he and Shoko exited the apartment for their smoke.
The atmosphere inside the apartment shifted slightly as you were left alone in the kitchen with Gojo.
“What was that about?” he spoke, regarding the comment that Geto had just made.
You turned your attention to Gojo and shook your head dismissively, “It’s nothing.”
“You sure? You can talk to me, you know?”
“I know,” you nodded, “It’s nothing, really.”
“I’ll take your word for it.” he took another sip of his water.
You paused for a moment, “If I knew you had guests over, I would've brought them some as well.” you stated, pointing at the pastries from the café in the bag.
Gojo raised an eyebrow with a smirk. "So those pastries are for me?" he inquired, his playful tone evident.
"Don't push it." you scoffed, your heart warming at his teasing for just a second. There is suddenly a nagging feeling that tells you he is just being nice to you due to the circumstances.
You clear your throat as you tear your gaze away from him, "Are your friends staying for dinner? If they are, I might skip."  You weren’t exactly feeling like yourself, and would rather not be spending time around people you hardly knew. You were just getting warmed up to the man next to you anyways.
“They’re not staying over. Even if they were, I don't really encourage skipping meals.” Gojo replied, his tone shifting between genuine concern and playfulness.
You can’t even force yourself to smile at his concern, you wanted to keep the discussion going, but your recent experience at the café had left you feeling on edge. "I guess I’ll see you at dinner then." you teased, your playful tone masking the underlying curiosity you had about his intentions. Did he truly want to be friends with you or was he doing it just out of pity?
He nodded at you and you retreated back into your room to grab some clothes but the voices of his friends drifted into your ears.
“Was that Hiroto’s girlfriend?”
“Yeah.” you heard the familiar white haired boy reply.
Their conversation had been about you, and you knew it. Trying to push yourself to stop them from eavesdropping, you shook your head and continued at finding some comfortable clothes for tonight. You needed to do something to take your mind off the events from earlier.
"Wait, seriously? I thought he was dating someone else."
Their words cast a shadow over your thoughts and only amplified your bad mood. You clenched your fists, trying to push down the mixture of anger and hurt.
“I don’t know how she’s still with him.”
The weight of their judgement had hit you harder than ever, especially after what you had witnessed earlier. As you contemplated confronting them about it, you could hear the hushed murmurs growing louder, escalating your frustration as a couple of voices interject.
“She’s kind of pathetic. Don’t you think so?”
You weren't ready to hear them belittle you any further, so you decided to retreat to the sanctuary of the shower, hoping the water would wash away the bitterness.
You turned on the water, stepping into the shower trying to drown out the sound of their voices echoing in your head. You wished you hadn't noticed how little effort Gojo made to defend you. Perhaps you were wrong to think the two of you were friends to begin with and considering his track record, maybe you shouldn’t have been so lenient to think he was different.
As you emerged from the shower, refreshed but still vulnerable, you were in the confines of your room as you messaged Shoko about what had happened. You knew she would give her a piece of her mind when she saw him next. You laid in bed, letting out some breaths steadying your heartrate as you heard Gojo call for you from outside your door. You weren't prepared for this, not after what you just heard between him and his friends.
With your emotions still raw and your nerves on edge, you slowly opened the door to find Gojo standing there, his usual confident demeanour softened.
His presence in the dimly lit hallway was both comforting and disconcerting. You met his gaze, your eyes holding a mixture of anxiety and frustration.
Gojo's voice was gentle but laced with concern as he spoke, "I sent my friends home.”
You nodded, not even bringing it in yourself to even berate him for being an absolute asshole to you when he thought you weren’t listening.
“I noticed you've been quiet since you got home. Is everything okay? Are you sure you don’t want to talk about it?"
Your emotions, a turbulent whirlwind of hurt and anger, surged within you. With a deep breath, you finally found your voice, but your words came out sharp and accusatory, "I don't appreciate it Gojo," you began, your tone wavering but determined, "I know what you and your friends say about me when you think I'm not listening."
Gojo's brows furrowed in confusion. "What?"
"Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about," you continued, your voice quivering with anger.
You could see Gojo's expression shift from confusion to realisation, and a pang of regret flickered in his eyes. His usually playful demeanour had vanished, replaced by a sombre and sincere expression.
"I'm sorry," he finally whispered, his voice sincere but unsure of how to proceed.
You felt tears well up in your eyes replaying the pain of your boyfriend cheating on you and the callous things they said behind your back. The disappointment of his apology settled in- he’s only sorry because he got caught.
“That was the last thing I expected from you.” you spat out. "I thought…” you let out a deep breath, your words hanging with every ounce of pain that you’d felt today. You shook your head as you continued, “I thought we were friends."
"We are." he declared, his eyes wavering now. With guilt or concern, you couldn't tell but you knew he didn't really care.
"We're not." you emphasised, still burning with the fury of all the events that transpired today. "Every day, I see you look at me with those eyes that say how pathetic you think I look."
Gojo's brow furrowed in frustration with himself. He wanted to say the right words, to offer comfort, but he struggled to find them. He stepped a little closer, his hands outstretched towards you. You stepped back, your heart pounding erratically, and he instantly retreated.
“You have no idea how much it hurts but I guess I shouldn’t have trusted you to begin with.”
Without giving him a chance to speak, you shut the door with trembling hands. You felt a thud against the door on the opposite end and you could hear him muttered a few curse words as you slid down the surface defeatedly.
His face that was etched with guilt and regret. That look was embedded in your head as you let the tears slip down your face. He gave a resigned sigh before turning away and trudging off towards the kitchen to make dinner– alone.
You stayed in your room until you heard the door to his room close after a couple hours of distracting yourself: with studying, messaging Shoko how much you hated Gojo, and cleaning your room. Retreating from your bedroom as quietly as you can, you see a plate of food he made for you wrapped up with a small post it note on your favourite drink next to it.
I know you're still mad at me, but I hope you don’t skip dinner. Eat well, you'll need the strength... ᕙ(‾̀◡‾́)ᕗ
You scoffed at his note, scrunching it up, putting it in your pocket. It was all just lip-service.
As you sat there alone, your eyes welled up with tears, and you could feel your composure slipping away. The weight of the day became too much to bear. Your heart ached, the hurt and betrayal coursing through you as you sobbed softly.
What a terrible fucking week.

I may know someone - Platonic!Alastor & tech demon!reader + Vox x tech demon!reader
Summary: Vox is holding a grudge against the hotel and refuses to air the commercial that they created. But Alastor has someone in mind who might just be able to help...
"I always knew Vox was petty," Alastor hummed picking at his nails. He wasn't pleased to say the least. Not about the commercial of course, if it was possible for him to care less about it then he would. But rather with Vaggie at his door demanding that he do something about it, along with Charlie's pleading eyes trying to calm Vaggie so she could try and convince Alastor.
Quite honestly he didn't know what they thought he could do. He was injured for crying out loud. His wound from Adam still hurt like a truck and not to mention that he and Vaggie made a deal so he wouldn't have to deal with the picture box anymore.
"Please Al, I won't ask anything else of you!" Charlie begged bouncing on the tips of her feet whilst still attempting to hold Vaggie back, although with their wings it was getting harder as she would flap them out constantly.
"You shouldn't lie dear, isn't that an unholy quality?" He asked with some hint of annoyance in his voice.
"Alastor just try and fix it alright, we built this whole hotel and-" Alastor cut Vaggie off with an influx of static.
"Didn't we make a deal about this my dear?"
Vaggie paused for a moment before sighing and walking away leaving Charlie.
"Please, Alastor," She paused for a moment looking at him. "We really need this right now alright? Besides just think about it, more sinners means more entertainment for you if thats what you want," She said slowly walking over into him room before stopping once he glanced at her.
"Besides just think of all the fun you would have watching me uh," She paused thinking for a moment. "Struggle to rehabilitate sinners!" She added throwing up her arms in the air as a punctuation to her sentence.
Alastor sighed and met her eyes. "I really can't do anything dear, I only control the radio and besides, I doubt that rabble box will even listen to me. I don't know how to work this," he made a wild gesture with his hand. "Frivolous new technology works,"
His smile grew tight with disgust. "Its not worth the trouble anyways," he huffed and looked over to the side.
Charlie sighed and glanced away. "Fine, thats reasonable I guess," She groaned and smoothed down her wrinkled hair and began walking out the door.
"I wonder if dad would help me with this," she muttered as she walked along. Now that was something Alastor just couldn't have. He grit his teeth and tapped his staff onto the ground disappearing into shadow and reappearing in front of Charlie.
"Now now dear I didn't say I wouldn't help you-"
"You basically did though-"
Alastor put his finger in front of her mouth shushing her. "It is rude to interrupt don't you know?" He took his hand back and set it on his staff.
"I do know someone who might be able to help in our little endeavor. Rosie adores her quite so and I think that she might just be interested in this. Besides she is an old friend of mine," He explained bending down and smiling even wider.
It's been a while since he's seen you. He'd like to visit you after all and this would stick it to Lucifer and Vox. He's winning on all three sides of the coin.
"Well then! Can I meet her?"
"Patience Charlotte, come, come now. The place where she lives is quite dangerous indeed. It would be a shame for you to be harmed there,"
He hummed and walked her out the hotel. "You'll need to stay by me at all times. Do you understand?"
She nodded and Alastor nodded with her. "Good girl,"
˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙
You spun around in your chair. This was the fifth time today. If anyone else came into your office proclaiming they they needed your help you were gonna flip.
You weren't an overlord. But damn did you manage this side of the pentagram. A space so fucked that not even the strongest overlord would set their sights here. Too much work for not enough profit you would say. Honestly? You would agree if you weren't somewhat attached to this rancid place.
Knock knock.
You gripped your desk and groaned mentally, bracing yourself for whoever was at the door next.
"I swear to god Susan call me again for your fucking cat and I will shove it's claws up your-" You opened the door with a shout and stopped upon seeing a familiar red color scheme.
"Alastor- holy shit!" You laughed and stepped back. "Sorry for the shouting, its been a..." You trailed off and sighed shaking your head. "Rather stressful day," You snapped your fingers electricity from them instantly snapping on the lights to emit a warm glow from them.
Behind him was someone with blonde hair and red eyes and a red suit. God was there a lot of red going on here. "Who's this?" you asked gesturing over to her. "Looks nice, didn't know she was your type," You laughed before shaking your head not allowing Alastor to react.
"I'm kidding, I know you've got an ace up there," you laughed tugging at his sleeve before letting it go.
Alastor paused for a moment. "What?"
You moved on giggling. "Come on introduce her, Rosie would have your head for behavior like this," you laughed and grabbed the girl's hand.
"This is Charlotte Morningstar! Princess of hell and owner of the delusional establishment known as the Hazbin Hotel!" He said patting 'Charlotte's' head.
"You can call me Charlie," She quickly corrected. You nodded and bent down bowing down to her and raising her hand slightly above your head.
"Pleasure to meet you your highness, what can I do for you today. After all I doubt you come here on pleasantries," you gestured outside to where a few demons were about to have either an orgy or a torture scene. You pulled them in further shutting the door and closing the windows.
"Well you see I've been having a bit of trouble lately. Well see this man, Vox, refuses to air the commercial I made for my hotel. So I was wondering if you could possibly do something about it," She offered. She smiled warmly and you looked over to Alastor.
"Vox isn't really..." You sighed and rubbed your forehead. "Do you want me to talk with him? Cause I don't know him besides that fact that his tech is nothing more than flashy shit," you explained.
"No, no, no, no, well I mean... I just want my commercial aired, I can pay you if you'd like," She offered.
You paused and shook your head glancing over to Alastor. "What do you think that I can do?" you asked tilting your head over to him. Of course he would bring her to you, what else were you expecting.
"Well you can infiltrate Vox and his filthy lair! Get the commercial up and running!" He said with a swing of his arm.
You groaned and sat down in your chair. "Really? And how do you suppose I'm even gonna get close enough to do such a thing?"
"Why my dear you'll only have to do a flick of a wrist, I doubt that Vox knows he's not the only one with powers like yours," he said and gestured over to you grandly, as if introducing you all over again.
With a sigh you looked over to Charlie. Money didn't really mean shit here, besides you knew better than to say no to Alastor. Friends be damned, if he wanted something you had to give it to him unless you had a good reason which, you really didn't. Other than you just didn't want to of course.
"Alright then, I don't need to get paid though, just puts a target on my back-"
"Alrighty then!" Alastor was cut off by you.
"But, you're getting me over there. Got it smiles?" You asked looking over to him. His grin grew tight and you felt your grow at that.
"Of course, it would be unkindly of me if not,"
Charlie squealed and grabbed your hand pulling you up and giving you a hug. "Thank you! Thank you ! Thank you! Thank you so much! I will not forget this, I swear!" She was bouncing up and down as you laughed and slowly pushed her away.
"Alright, don't get too happy about it. I still don't know if I can do it,"
"Don't worry, if any demon in this wretched realm can do it its you," Alastor said giving you a half pat on the head before you swiped his hand away.
"Alright then, so when do you want me to do this?" You asked.
"Oh take your time-"
"Now would be preferred. Here I'll even lead you," Alastor said grabbing you and pulling you in by the hook of your arm. You stumbled over and glared at him playfully a grin forming across your lips as you gaining your footing.
"What about the princess?" You pointed over to Charlie who was bouncing on her feet excitedly.
"Oh we can stop by the hotel on our way over, don't worry y/n,"
You laughed and looked over to Charlie. "Oh my god, I didn't tell you my name!" You laughed and stuck your hand out once more. "Y/n,"
She shook your hand and smiled. "Don't worry about it, besides I'm sure Al would've told me it,"
You nodded and turned over to Alastor. "Alright then, lead the way,"
˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙
To call the hotel a giant eyesore might be an understatement. It was clear that Alastor didn't design the thing whether that be for good or for worse. It's lights basically dissected your eyes into thousands of tiny little pieces.
God was it bright.
"So the V's are what they're called then?" You asked brushing off tiny specks of dust on your shoulder. You just had a conversation with someone named Angel and god did it feel wrong.
"Yes! They're quite incompetent though, nothing you need to worry about," He said patting your head once more. You groaned mentally at the gesture and watched as he spun his microphone around.
"Really? Aren't they overlords?" You questioned further adn watched how Alastor's grin grew tight at the mention.
"Yes but they're awfully pathetic and act like children. Throwing temper tantrums here and there," he paused for a moment before shutting his eyes and flitting them to you. "Actually you'd be more of a competent overlord than them-"
You held up a hand. "No, no, we've been over this. I'm not an overlord. I don't have nearly enough power-"
"I could help with that," He smiled and you watched the green and red glow light up from behind him.
"Uh huh, so you could put me on a leash? Yeah, no thanks," You rolled your eyes at the offer and watched as he laughed it off with you.
"No no, just as a friendly gesture. Of course a favor wouldn't be too bad I suppose,"
You laughed once more. "A favor? from me? I'm sorry but being gone for seven damn years must've screwed with your head. I can't do anything,"
You both stopped in front of a large building. At least in the alleyway of a shop in front of it. You noticed how Alastor avoided the cameras, he must've done this thousands of times.
"Aren't you doing this?" Alastor gestures over to the building.
Three V's hung at the very top of a very colorful building and- you take it back this is worse than the hotel. You winced at the colors and looked over to Alastor. "I might change my mind,"
You watched as he laughed for a short amount of time before returning to you. "Well then we better hurry up I suppose my dear," He snapped his fingers and you watched the cameras glitch for a second. "We'll only have a moment now," He said and he walked out with you and into a backroom of the building and- god the inside might just be worse.
Thousands of LEDs strung up around the hall with tons of flashing lights. Stuff to draw one's attention. You just wanted to get out. You followed Alastor around before he stopped. "You know the way from here?" He asked.
You paused and looked at him. "Please tell me you didn't-"
"I haven't been here before. I've never had a reason to before now," He said and tapped his staff onto the ground leaning on it for support. His ears bent slightly back in frustration.
You glanced at the cameras and sighed for a moment before looking back at him. "A minute please," you hummed and flicked a small bit of electricity over before tapping a device on your wrist generating a hologram. You watched as it flickered between the different places before stopping on one.
"Got it, we need to be in the room though and uh," You pointed to the hologram showing someone in the room. Alastor squinted and sighed.
"He was always obsessed," he groaned and looked over to you. "Get over there I'll lead him out and- don't get caught. Got it?" His gaze hardly even looked at you but you nodded anyways.
"Sir yes sir," You laughed and ran over towards where it would be. Having access to the cameras made it easier now you'd have to admit. You watched as people passed by and when you rarely messed up you knew where to go next. Then you reached the room. A room full of tv's and god- this was creepier in person.
You walked over looking down at the ledge of which the room seemed to drop forever. Yikes, you wouldn't wanna fall down there. You looked at the cameras seeing the guy from before shout at Alastor who was breaking a ton of stuff with a look on his face that said he was having way too much fun with this.
You looked over at the tv's and smiled flicking of bit of the electricity into the tv's and watching as it squirmed through. That should do it. You watched as it slowly ran through the computers and it flicked through everything. The channels, commercials, and god you're not looking at that one, until you found it. The commercial. With a grin you clicked approve and watched as it slowly became permanent with the humming from the computers agreeing with your own.
"That should do it," you muttered and looked back at the cameras and-
shit.
He's almost here.
You hissed to yourself cursing that you weren't more careful. Goddammit, you need an out, and now. You looked around the room and facepalmed mentally. This was horrible. The only thing you could hope to do it wait by the door and hope that he didn't see you.
You ran over and slid by the door covering your mouth. This was gonna suck. You balled your fists ready to get into a fight, you knew how to fight, you lived in the worst part of the fucking pentagram. You knew all the moves, you knew how to fight dirty. You raced through your head trying to gather your thoughts but none came. Your knees became weak. This was a real overlord. Alastor was a real overlord, shit what were you thinking.
You could hear the footsteps get closer and closer. Each step felt like hell to bare.
You can't remember how to fight, you readjust your hands trying to remember how to not break your thumb. The door handle turns and you almost lose it. You almost bolt down into the abyss. Hell it might be a better death than fucking with some flashy guy's tech.
Crash
"Dammit Alastor!" You hear the reverberate of a tv penetrate your ear. God it hurts, the footsteps retreat and you let out a breath you didn't know you were holding. You let your hand fall to your side not letting yourself gain the time to process what just happened. Once the noise was gone you checked the cameras.
Nothing.
You opened the door and bolted it checking the cameras constantly until you were out of the wretched building. You panted heavily catching your breath as you leaned into the alleyway you and Alastor were at before. There was a fight, you could hear it. The shouting, the screaming. God were you glad you had Alastor. You covered your mouth and watched as everything slowly died down and a shadow slithered up to you.
You moved your feet back and watched as Alastor reformed in front of you. "Sorry for that one darling, I hope he didn't get too close," he said and pulled you in for a half side hug before letting you go.
"No, not... not at all," you muttered and watched as Alastor paused for a moment.
"Well he didn't see you did he?"
You looked up and paled at the thought. "Hell no! I... I hope not," you admitted slowly. "There's- there's no way," you said firmly once more and looked at Alastor who nodded.
"Understood, come along then we have work to do,"
˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙*˚*˚*•̩̩͙✩•̩̩͙
Vox slammed the door into the control room. His suit was tattered and who the fuck did Alastor think he was was starting trouble on his territory. He groaned and watched as his tech lit up with almost a new color. He paused for a moment and walked forward watching as it glowed brighter than anything he's ever seen before dulling and disappearing into the darkness.
Weird.
He touched his keyboard and felt the energy spark him and it hurt. It. Hurt. He made a small face before touching it again and it hummed in response before finally fading out. Electricity wasn't supposed to hurt him. So what the hell was that? He paused and watched as it returned to its normal state and sighed before seeing something playing on the screen.
The commercial. The fucking Hazbin Hotel bullshit was playing on his screens. He slammed his hand down and began trying to fix it only to find it kicking him out. What the hell? He tried again only to be met with the same fate not only that but a message appearing on the screen.
You cannot access this. Please try something else.
He shouted in frustration. "What the fuck is happening!?" He swiped over the screens and found something.
Footage.
Footage of what the hell happened.

Summary: Pedro invites you to be his plus one for the night but his attention is caught by another woman and leaves you with a broken heart

A/N: I have no idea how you guys are gonna react. I hope you guys like it, because I was very invested and loved writing every single part of this chapter. Don't forget that all ideas and suggestions are more than welcome ❤️
I still can't manually tag people on the works because I use the app and it won't let me do it, that's why I don't have a tag list at all!

PART ONE | PART TWO | PART THREE | PART FOUR | PART FIVE
Tumblr media
"You did WHAT?" Kate raised her voice without really meaning to, at the shocking news you'd told her. She couldn't believe just a few feet away from where everyone stood, hidden by a couple of trees Pedro had declared his love for you and kissed you.
And the most shocking to her: you had told him to walk away. She was shocked and expressive at first and then she went silent as you finished your account of what had happened. You told her about Pedro's apologies, about how he confessed his feelings and kissed you. And above all, how it took every ounce of strength and self-control to break that kiss.
"And then, what happened next?" She asked with fire in her eyes, anticipation making her anxious and excited to know, which caused you to roll your eyes
"What do you think happened, Kate? You think we just had a quickie in the middle of the bushes?" You groaned and sighed "he walked away, he came back inside, probably went home, I don't know, I came straight to the kitchen to help you" you shrugged. Your heart was still pounding and it felt like it would burst out of your chest at any moment. But that was not the only thing Pedro messed up in your body, you hated yourself to know your lower belly burned in need at the mere memory of his touch, of how warm his body was against yours, how his lips fell perfectly against yours. You hated the fact your arousal pooled in your underwear, every step you took you could feel it and it was a reminder of how he still had power over you, like no other man ever had and you doubted any other man ever would.
Pedro, on the other hand, should've been home at least an hour prior. He was so ashamed of himself for locking himself in the bathroom after what happened, he felt as if he was back in junior high, hiding away after being dumped by the girl he liked.
He stared into his own eyes in the mirror and sighed again, he just couldn't wrap his head around the fact you didn't love him anymore. Maybe you still did, he wasn't sure, but he'd screwed things up so bad you just wouldn't take the chance. And worse, you didn't even believe him. He never thought any of that could happen. He felt so disappointed in himself and didn't understand why he couldn't have been a better man to you, if he had, maybe right now you'd be together. It was no use wondering things now, he knew he'd lost you and he had nothing else to do there, he only wanted to get a glass of water and get the fuck out of that place. He walked silently through the hallway feeling so thankful to see the guests had already left and he didn't have to socialize with anyone, his social battery was drained at that point and he didn't have to pretend to be happy at all.
"But did you even tell him you were dating?" Kate's voice came from the kitchen, making Pedro stop dead in his tracks. He took a deep breath, his gut churning really hoping it would be someone else to reply to the question but you.
"When was I supposed to tell him? When he got his tongue down my throat?" You replied with a hint of annoyance as Kate seemed to be carrying out an interview with you, while you were tired and emotionally exhausted and all you wanted to do was go home.
"Plus, I'm not dating anyone, I'm just seeing Liev, it's not serious, just a few dates here and there…"
"And some fucking too, Y/N, or you really think I haven't noticed how you and him simply disappeared in the middle of dinner the other night and returned to the table all flushed and giggly?" She raised her eyebrow in a playfully way and saw how you blushed
"Kate!!!" You censored her "that's embarrassing, yeah, it happened a few times, so what? I'm single, he is single, or do you really think Pedro doesn't sleep around? I mean, he did when we were friends and close all the time, even if he knew it hurt my feelings, would he stop it now?" You asked "besides, I don't really buy this sudden gust of feelings he's got for me, I mean, the apologies were really important and I felt they were honest, and I really appreciate that, but don't you think it's too much of a coincidence that he suddenly discovers he loves me right when I'm about to walk out his life? You know he loves being loved. There's nothing wrong with that, we all want affection and love, but not when it comes at the cost of someone's happiness" you shrugged and got ready to leave.
Pedro was speechless and unable to move as too much bombarded him at the same time. First of all, you were dating? He couldn't believe his ears at first and it didn't make it any easier when you explained to Kate you weren't dating, you were just fucking the guy. If anything, it made it all worse. He couldn't believe that damn ape got to have access to your gorgeous body, a body that should be his, touched, kissed and worshiped by him and no one but him.
But the moment he heard your suspicions on his feelings, he felt like disappearing. He couldn't even describe how painful it felt, the pang in his chest was intense and he couldn't help but feel his eyes filled with tears. He didn't care if he looked pathetic, childish even, he was broken-hearted and done with that situation.
"Fuck this" he mumbled under his breath and finally exited the house, he was definitely getting you out of his mind.
•••
You hadn't seen Pedro many times after Flora's party. There had been other dinner parties you attended and some you even took Liev along with you, but Pedro was never present. He always came up with excuses saying he was busy doing photoshoots, studying his script or he was just out of town, little did everyone know, he felt left out and offended to know he hadn't been invited to the gatherings right after you two had fallen out. He didn't want to take out on any of your mutual friends, but it did seem to him it was pretty clear they preferred you over him. Not to mention no one wanted to have a simple friend get together turned into an awkward show by you and your boyfriend and Pedro there, lingering and watching you from afar.
But sometimes you two ran into each other at the gym. He usually kept to himself, always greeting you and asking how you were doing, but as soon as he saw Liev approaching, he'd put on his headphones, turn his back to both of you and focus on his training. He hated every single minute of those gym sessions, they were torture, he hated seeing you with that man, and no matter how much he tried not looking at the two of you, he couldn't help doing it. It was like a morbid curiosity that struck him every time and ripped his chest open. So he just decided to change schedules and avoid that sight once for all.
After his training he just shyly waved goodbye to you and headed home, he stepped into the shower in order to clear his mind, hoping he would forget about you and the unresolved feelings that haunted him. Every time he felt his heart ache, he thought of how much you suffered because of him and had to admit to himself that yeah, maybe he did deserve what he was going through. It pained him to think of everything he made you go through, but now you were happy, and as much as he tried being happy for you, he couldn't. It hurt him, but he was an actor after all and he would have no problem pretending for you. If you let him in, he would put on a happy face and support you as much as you helped him.
He got out of the shower and wrapped a towel around his waist, walking to the closet and finding something fresh to wear. Pedro knelt down to look for his pair of sneakers when he came across a box. He frowned softly as he didn't recognize it at first, it took him some time to finally acknowledge the object. It was the box you had handed him his birthday present. You'd always been really good at giving presents and the last birthday you spent together wasn't anything different.
He opened the box and smiled sadly, it somehow still held your perfume inside, making his heart flutter in his chest. He chuckled at the happy memory and frowned as he spotted something under the bow. He hadn't seen that when he got it nor the months that followed it, but now it had caught his attention and he was curious to find what the heck that was. He pulled it carefully, seeing it was a small card and thought maybe it was just something extra that came in with the box and you hadn't noticed it as well.
He still opened and held his breath at the words he found beautifully written. That handwriting he would recognize anywhere.
"I was wondering how long it would take you to find this card… I'm not that great with words, but here it is:
Feliz cumple mi amor. Te deseo toda la felicidad del mundo y quiero que sepas que siempre estaré a tú lado. ¡Te quiero hoy y siempre! **
- Y/N"
Pedro had lost track of how many times he'd read that message over and over, but by the time he was able to put it down, he had made up his mind: he wasn't going to let you go that easily.
•••
You were almost finished preparing dinner, placing the last potatoes in the baking pan and waiting for the oven to reach the right temperature when you heard the doorbell ring. You frowned and checked the clock, it was still early for Liev to show up, so you sighed, feeling a little annoyed at the uninvited guest. You went silent once you opened the door and saw Pedro standing there, he didn't say anything at first either, just scanned you with soft eyes, admiring you, taking in every single beautiful feature he came to love over time.
"Hey mariposa, can we talk?" He asked in his sweet voice, wanting to come inside desperately, you noticed his hands fidgeted with something nervously.
"Sure, Pedro. Come in, let's go to the kitchen, I'm cooking and can't leave stuff unattended" you said giving him space to walk in and saw him following you, you had no idea what that visit was about.
You asked him to make himself at home, offering him something to drink which he politely declined, and observed you put the baking pan into the oven. Only then, he realized how much he missed your cook, how you'd spend the weekends at his home, baking all the things you enjoyed eating, and he would always end up with the dishes as he was not skilled with his cooking at all.
"Listen, princesa, I came here because we need to talk…"
"Pedro please, don't call me that…" you said in a low voice and bit your lips, finally turning to him. You saw him frown and shake his head softly.
"Call you what, hermosa?" He questioned you, seeing a soft flush spreading across your face.
"Calling me those pet names, Pedro… I know I used to like them, but it's not appropriate anymore, I mean, we're not that close and-"
You were interrupted by his hands gripping your hips, squeezing them gently and gluing his body to yours, your faces inches away from each other's, he closed his eyes, leaning towards you, his short beard scratching against your chin, your skin so sensitive to his touch, it sent goosebumps all over it.
"So you don't wanna be my mariposa anymore? You're not mi cariño? Mi hermosa, mi muñequita, mi amor?" He asked in a whisper against your ear. Even if you tried to break free from his touch, which you straight up didn't, it would be impossible. Your body felt on fire at that teasing, at that taunting moment, you hated how Pedro ruined you. But you also loved.
"Answer me, Y/N… I know you don't believe in me, you don't believe in my feelings for you, but guess what, I think you are a lying little shit as well" he kept the same tone, but this time it was followed by soft kisses spread all over your neck, ghosting it softly. "You are a fucking liar Y/N, because you told me you didn't love me anymore" Pedro continued, his lips on your throat, making you squirm as he added his teeth, leaving soft bites all over it, before finally getting to your lips.
He stopped and stared into your eyes, stroking your cheek gently and pecking your lips and chuckling.
"If you don't love me anymore, care to explain this?" He showed you the card you had written for his birthday, seeing your widened eyes and your disbelief. You hadn't forgotten about the card, but you just hoped really hard he would never find it.
You gasped and moved your body against his, so he would stop holding you so close, but Pedro used his weight to prevent you from escaping.
"Cat got your tongue, princesa? I guess it means you still fucking love me, don't you?" He chuckled "that means you are not only a fucking liar, but also one little stubborn muñequita, because you love me, you know I love you and you don't want to be together" he shook his head.
"Pedro, we can't, please, I already told yo-" you squealed the moment you felt his heavy hands on your ass lifting you up and placing you on the kitchen counter. He only took his time to settle you down before attacking your lips with his. The kiss was urgent and deep, his tongue brushing against yours as his hands roamed around your body, at the same time you tugged his hair, not helping yourself but moaning at how heated you were making out.
Pedro broke the kiss and smirked at you "Eres tan linda, mi amor" he whispered and stroked your cheek, sinking his hand down your lap and getting under your shirt, his thick, rough fingertips brushing softly against your skin like he'd never done it before.
"We can't…" you whimpered in need and only earned a scoff from him.
"Mi amor, mira…" he said patiently and let go of your body, though he was locked in your embrace as your legs snaked against his waist "if you want us to stop, we will, but does it really seem you do?" He tilted his head and gave you one of his sweet innocent smile, waiting for you to let go of your body, which you just didn't.
He pulled you back for another kiss, his hand tight on your hair, dragging sweet moans from your mouth. You couldn't resist any longer, you know you should, you had to, but it felt impossible to break free from his spell. You were tired of lying to yourself, you ached for Pedro and you would go all the way with him.
Suddenly the sound of a door slamming shut interrupted you both, you immediately broke the kiss and saw an enraged Liev staring at you both.
"What the fuck, Y/N?" Your boyfriend shouted in pure anger. You can see jaw tightening and the way his veins were more visible.
He took a step closer to you both "what the fuck is this piece of shit doing here? I thought you were done with him?" He yelled "I guess you couldn't keep in your panties anymore, you really got that hungry of a cunt to want two cocks at once? I didn't know you were such a filthy whore" he said taking another step closer to you.
Pedro closed his hand in a fist "shut the fuck up, don't you fucking dare talk to her like that, asshole" He immediately placed himself between you and Liev, shielding your body with his own.
"You shut up, asshole. I'll deal with this bitch first and then I'll fucking kill you!" Liev yelled and aimed his punch at you, but hitting Pedro instead, as he stood there to protect you.
You were so nervous you didn't even know what to do, you just screamed, so terrified and scared at how angry Liev punched Pedro. You had no other reaction than grab a knife nearby and point it at Liev
"G-get out Liev, get out now!!!" You threatened though your voice and your hand was shaking.
The man laughed at your attempt to scare him away, but was distracted enough to receive Pedro's punches on his face as payback for the first attack. Liev wasn't expecting and lost balance for a moment, falling down.
Pedro groaned in pain, but turned to you, taking the knife from your hand "calm down cariño, things will be fine" he said trying to soothe you as he turned to the man "get the fuck outta here and don't come back, I'll fucking kill you if you ever get anywhere near Y/N" Pedro threatened with cold anger in his eyes, anyone could see he was deadly serious, and Liev got up slowly, walking towards the door knowing if he gave in to his revenge thoughts, the cops would be on him at any minute.
He shot you one last glare "and you, little bitch, enjoy your moment with this dick, I hope he treats you like shit, exactly like a filthy whore like you deserves it"
Liev exited and left you shaking in nervousness at everything that went on. Pedro held your face gently, his own bleeding at the wounds he got. You whimpered and began crying.
"Shh it's okay cariño, I'm here for you, you're safe now" Pedro wrapped his arms around you, holding you close, only caring about your well-being and nothing else.
-----
** translation: "Happy Birthday my love. I wish you all the happiness in the world and I want you to know I'll always be by your side. I love you today and forever"
A/N: I hope you guys have enjoyed it!!! Again, I picked Liev with Liev Schreiber in mind but it was a just because situation so you guys can picture whoever you want. If you have any other ideas for the next chapters, let me know ❤️

a/n: thinking of making this into 2 or 3 parts?? this is more of a build up so I'm sorry if it's a bit slow!
Tumblr media
∘₊✧────────────────────✧₊∘
It had been a week, maybe more, after the crash. You counted the days - believing it wasn't long until you would all be found and saved. Everyone followed the same belief, but it slowly began to lose its appeal as the days got longer and there was no promise of rescue, and you had lost track anyway.
Misty had treated you alongside everyone else, she wrapped your gashed shoulder up with a bandage out of some emergency aid kit in the planes cabinet, which you had been unwrapping everyday to keep clean. It was fine at first, but the shortages of antibiotics and extra bandages had it healing much slower than it should've, it hurt like a bitch and you were putting up the best 'tough' act you could to avoid adding anymore stress to the situation.
You sat outside of the cabin on a broken log, setting up fire to cook dinner, faintly smelling the herbs in the air that Mari managed to find whilst the others were either doing laundry or getting water from the nearby lake. Lottie hadn't been doing much, though. Her mind was in a different place ever since the crash, you noticed as she began to act differently recently, but you thought nothing of it - everyone else had been stressed, unorganised and tired, so why would it be out of the ordinary for Lottie to feel the same?
You and Lottie began dating a month before the flight, she had confessed to you one day after practice - you watched panic on her face as she barely managed to get her words out, before you laughed in reassurance and told her you felt the same way. Neither of you had told anyone about your relationship and wanted to keep it that way - it wouldn't benefit you or her.
"Hey, you okay?" she came up to you, sitting on the log opposite of the one you sat on, her expression ardent each time she saw you.
"Yeah, is Shauna done with the meat yet?" You asked, feeling hunger eat away at your stomach. "No I don't think so, she's trying to get Jackie to do something," she explained, "I'm sure she'll be done by the time you set up the fire, though." you nodded, giving up on rubbing sticks for the time being. "You look real good for someone who's stranded in the wilderness, y'know" she laughed, watching you trying to rub off the ash from last nights fire, "Shut up, Lottie" you teased with the same toothy smile she loved.
It took you a while to get used to the new situation, though more often than not you were helping around with things. In around 5th grade your parents thought it was a good idea to get you into girl scouts, you partially hated them for it - the uniform sucked and you'd always be covered in dirt. You had been mentally reciting the folklore stories told by the counsellors; as the wilderness caved in some of your old memories, often wondering if they had any truth to them. You stayed there until you turned 14, learning a bunch of survival skills that you brushed off as stupid, it was ironic how useful they were now.
"Lot, how are you?" You hadn't asked that in ages, too preoccupied with surviving, just as everyone else had been. Lottie's breath hitched, knowing she wasn't fine at all, considering her meds ran out. "I'm fine, I just missed you (y/n)." She smiled sheepishly, suppressing the doubt she had in her own words. She truly did miss you, the distance that brewed between you two wasn't as bad as it could've been, but she needed you the most right now.
You could sense her unease, standing up to sit next to her, "You can talk to me, you know that right?" You moved your hand towards hers, smiling warmly as you looked at each other. her eyes were filled with anguish, her jaw clenching before she spoke,
"Promise you won't think I'm weird?"
"I promise."
You leaned towards her, watching as she tucked her hair behind her ear before letting loose of her worry, "I've had these strange visions," Her gaze was diverted to the floor, "and I've been hearing things." she shook her head in disbelief, almost shocked; confused. "What kind of visions?" You kept your eyes on her, not thinking any less of her. "I don't know, it's like I can see what happens before it happens." She gave you a sorry look, you opened your mouth to speak before being interrupted by Shauna, "Here." Jackie stood behind her as Shauna handed you the meat, looking at it in complete disgust.
Lottie wasn't given the opportunity to offer you an explanation, but it made sense to you, considering her strange act for the past week.
-
The night grew colder than the last, you had been sleeping in the attic with lottie for the past few days to prove it wasn't haunted, and you struggled to keep heat upstairs. "Just sleep here, near the fire." Shauna stated after you had tried to haggle for more blankets, you refused, though, wanting to spend more time with Lottie and keep an eye on her after she had opened up to you. "well feel free to come downstairs, there's always room." she finished, laying down the pillows.
You climbed the ladder to see lottie already there, facing the window - illuminated by the moon and stars. sitting behind her, you spoke, "Another vision?" It was a couple days after she had spoken to you about them, and she told you what she could. They weren't too frequent, but when they happened you'd stay close to her.
"I heard a baby crying this time, it went on and off for a while, but I cant figure it out." Her words were cold and hurt. You were the only one who knew about her newfound state, since you swore not to tell anybody to avoid Lottie seeming crazy to the others, and that's why you tried your best to understand, to help her. but often your help was useless, you figured it might've just been a trauma response to the crash, and you stuck around. You wrapped your arms around her shoulders, hugging her from behind, bringing your body close to hers and resting your head on the back of her neck.
"Things'll gonna be okay, Lottie." Your voice was warming, bringing slight comfort to her discomfort.
You two sat there for a while, your eyes resting as she gazed at the night sky, before she turned to face you. "What if they won't be?" She bit her lip, making constant eye contact with you. She'd wear your jewellery often, you assumed it just got lost in the crash until you noticed, but she just wanted you close to her when you weren't around, and talking to each other for more than a minute was rare lately, so she had resorted to constant distress and longing.
She couldn't risk hurting you as a result of her own disturbance, just like she had before, and she subconsciously needed your reassurance that things wouldn't go that way.
"Why would you think that?" You shook your head, seeing Lottie avert her gaze to your shoulder, "Because things haven't been in our favour for a while." Her feelings were daunting to figure out, you looked up at her with sad yet hopeful eyes. "Stressing about it isn't gonna make it any better, Lot." You chuckled lightly, sensing tension brewing and wanting to avoid her mind going back into the dark place it would often wander to. She smiled in return, her eyes softening at your remark. "Hey do you remember when we would go on those road trips? you'd be so tired driving, I'd have to remind you not to crash into a tree" Lottie spoke, you saw her jaw soften and heard her laugh filling the wooden room, "And you would play shitty music just to rile me up," You added, "What?? I played it because I liked those songs (y/n), don't judge me,"
You two would often drive to seattle in your old beaten up sedan to visit your family, though you'd always make sure to turn it into a full blown camping roadtrip each time - since Washington was on the complete opposite side of New Jersey.
"You think we can go again after we're back home?" It didn't even cross your mind that Lottie thought there was chance of rescue, you were taken aback for a moment. When Lottie was with you something would alter inside of her, as if everything negative she ever believed had dissipated, you gave her hope.
"We'll go wherever you want."
She smiled a moment before her eyes looked up to yours and then down to your lips - then back to your eyes again, she kissed you and you could've sworn you felt religion in her lips; how they caressed yours with trails of grace.
-
"Are you fucking kidding me lottie?? what's gotten into you?" A riled up voice spat under lottie who had just stood there. "Nat, calm down." Shauna intervened, you walked out of the cabin, rubbing your puffy eyes as they adjusted to the light, woken by the voices after the best sleep you'd had in a while. "What's going on?" You looked towards Nat and Lottie.
"Lottie's acting like she's in The Craft or something, sort her out before she casts a spell on one of us." Natalie faced you with annoyance, your bottom lip slightly hung out - still half asleep. Everyone knew something was up with Lottie after she bashed her head into the window, it wasn't that much of a secret after all. Most were worried and you could tell, and so Natalie's reaction had you confused, you looked around to see everyone waiting for your response.
"She's been through a lot, like the rest of us. just leave her alone, Nat." You sighed, everyone went back inside - Natalie flailing her arms as you gestured for Lottie to follow you somewhere deeper into the forest. "What happened? are you okay?" You stopped amongst the woods, "Yeah, fine." she looked distressed and distant, crossing her arms, "Just ignore her, she didn't mean it," Lottie cut you off as her rushing thoughts came out,
"But what if she's right? what if I really am going crazy?"
"You're not crazy Lottie, you're just as fucked as the rest of us, nothing more." Your reassurance seemed to get through to her, your words meant the world to her and you knew it.
"You don't think there's something wrong with me?" Her face was almost pale, skin rough and almost loving eyes.
"Oh my god, of course not," you faltered into a feathery smile, "You're perfect, Lottie." You watched as her face began to regain her warm colour, softening at your words. Sometimes it felt like the world stopped around you when you were near her, you would've done anything - just to see her okay again, and she would've done anything to see you carefree and happy, just like you used to be.
She looked to the ground, laughing in relief while small tears left her eyes. "And I'm the sappy one?"
"Yeah okay, I'm not the one who wrote a love letter as an apology," She slapped your shoulder and you kept giggling like a maniac, before you were stopped dead in your tracks by Misty carrying an empty water bucket, "Are you two planning on helping?" One hand on her hip and the other holding out the bucket, "It's unfair to think you're exempt from helping when we should all be-"
"Jeez okay we'll fill it up." Lottie suppressed her laughter the best she could, running to take the bucket from an impatient Misty.
After getting back to the cabin, you settled on the living room floor with a blanket and a book. You never read books much before, however somehow it had become a routine by now.
"What're you reading?" Lottie asked, sliding down next to you.
"To the Lighthouse, Virgina Woolf. I found it in one of the drawers in the attic."
"Any good?" You never took Lottie as a reader, her interests only really came to surface when you would talk about yours, "I'll finish it and let you know." You looked at her with a smile, closing the book and resting it to the side for the time being.
-
Your mouth was filled with sickening sweetness as you chewed on the last of your food, which just happened to be the gummies your mom packed you 'for the road'.
There was no food left, and your hunger began to yearn for something else - someone else.
And her winter was cursed with your bewitchment,
the loving haze which she had caused upon you herself.

Alone with you
(Tara carpenter x fem! reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: After your girlfriend of 4 years got brutally attacked at her house, you're willing to do anything to keep her safe, even if it means putting yourself in danger Request here :)) Warnings: blood, injuries, Tamber (one sided) (English isn't my first language, I'm sorry if there are mistakes or if something doesn't make sense TvT)
You just learnt your girlfriend had been attacked the night before and ran to the hospital to be by her side when she would wake up.
When she opened her eyes, you could say she was relieved to see you next to her.
"Y/n...?"
"Hi baby..."
She started to tear up, lower lip trembling.
"I was so scared..." she sobbed "He- he was wearing a Ghostface costume Y/n... w-what if it's another psycho like the others...?"
You sat on the bed and hugged her, stroking her hair as she cried against you, gripping your shirt tight.
"I'm sorry I wasn't with you... y-you're gonna be okay from now on, I'm here, I'll protect you my love..."
You tried your best to comfort her, and even though you were not the best at it, it was working. She felt safe in your arms, face buried in the crook of your neck.
"Please don't leave me..."
"I won't, I swear. I'm staying here as long as you need me to" you placed a kiss on her head "Do you want me to tell our friends you're awake?"
She shook her head slightly, not letting go of you.
"I'll do it myself, but not now... I want to stay alone with you. Can you lay in bed with me...?"
"Of course"
You took off your shoes and slipped in her bed, taking her back in your arms.
You had no idea who could have attacked your girlfriend, but whoever it was, you were going to make them pay for almost taking her away from you.
Yet you felt that maybe they didn't want to kill her. They could have easily sunk their knife in her throat or in any vital organs for the final blow. But they didn't.
Either it was part of their plan, or they just couldn't.
You hoped it was the first option with your whole heart. Because if it wasn't, it meant the new Ghostface could be one of your friends. Someone that loved Tara so much they couldn't kill her.
If anyone else came to this conclusion, you would be the prime suspect. That's what prevented you from sharing your theory with the police. Your girlfriend doubting you was the last thing you wanted.
After Tara texted Wes around half an hour later, and ten more minutes for them to come here, your friends arrived at the hospital, soon followed by none other than Samantha Carpenter and her boyfriend.
You got out of Tara's bed when your friends arrived, now sitting on a chair right next to her bed, holding her hand.
How many years had it been since you saw Sam for the last time? 5 years? More? It felt like an eternity. She used to babysit Wes, Mindy, Chad and you when you were younger, but you knew her before that, being Tara's friend since forever.
You had always loved her, she was the older sister you never had. Until she left. You never heard of her since that day.
You hoped she had changed and she wouldn't hurt Tara anymore.
"Look guys, Tara's really tired. Maybe we should give her some space" Amber suggested
Everyone agreed and started to leave.
"Not you Sam. I want you to stay"
You gave a last squeeze to your girlfriend's hand before sitting up too.
"I'll text you and be back later in the day" you said softly
"Wait before you go..."
She beckoned you to lean in, and put her valid hand on the back of your neck, pulling you close to kiss you tenderly.
"I love you" she whispered against your lips
"I love you too baby"
You smiled, giving her a last peck on the lips before standing up, cheeks a little redder than usual. Sam looked shocked but didn't say anything as you walked past her.
Once you left, Tara broke down again in her sister's arms. Like you, Sam tried her best to comfort her, hugging her and patting her back.
She tried to make Tara think of something else.
"How long has it been? Y/n and you"
A smile crept on Tara's face as she heard your name.
"Four years, since freshman year"
Sam could see you made her sister happy. The light in her eyes, this little shiny light couldn't mean anything else. She always thought you would make a great couple.
Out of all of her sister's friends you had always been her favorite. She knew Wes had a crush on Tara back in the days, but she never thought she liked him back. Even then, she only had eyes for you.
"You make a cute couple"
<><><><> ♡ <><><><>
"Welcome to act three"
So it was her all along? Her that attacked Tara at her house and at the hospital? Her that almost killed the person you loved the most?
You knew she had a crush on Tara. You saw it in the way she looked at her, even though she denied it. Maybe Amber's feelings were the only thing that saved Tara.
Amber tried to shoot Sam but Tara pushed her arm up, making her miss. Everyone split up, running away from the psycho while she dragged Tara upstairs.
"Y/n-!"
You rushed in the kitchen to grab a knife, before heading upstairs as fast as you could. Amber had a gun, you had to have something to defend yourself.
When you found them, Amber was tying Tara up with duct tape.
"Get the fuck away from her"
The brunette paused for a second before slowly standing up, reaching behind her for her gun.
"I really should've killed you when I could." she groaned, glaring daggers at you
She tried to shoot you but missed. The bullet only brushed your arm, burning your shirt and skin in the process.
You clenched your teeth at the pain but wasted no time and rushed toward her, cutting her wrist with the knife enough to make her drop the gun.
She bent down and held her bleeding wrist against her. You took a step closer, thinking it was safe, but her head jolted up before she launched herself at you.
Taken by surprise, you fell to the ground, knife still in hand. You tried to stab her but she stepped on your wrist, forcing your hand opened, and took the knife.
You scream in pain as she sank the blade into your stomach harshly, positioning herself on top of you. Her slender fingers wrapped around your throat, squeezing hard.
"You really thought you could steal her from me like that huh? She's mine. Has always been. I've waited long enough."
You tried to push her away, but her grip on your throat was cutting your air off, and her weight on you pushed the knife even deeper in your stomach.
You started feeling lightheaded. Was this really how you were going to die? You couldn't do anything, all your strength taken away by the lack of air.
"Fuck you" you managed to say before a vase crashed on her head
She fell to the side, the impact knocking her out. You took a deep breath and coughed when you tried to sit up, the knife still in your stomach.
Tara sat next to you, concern written on her face.
"Are you okay babe...?"
You gave her a thumbs up, still trying to catch your breath. You would definitely have a mark with how hard she was squeezing your throat.
After a moment, you tilted your head up slightly toward the knife.
"Should we take it out?"
"Wouldn't you get hurt more if we don't?"
"I don't know... but right now it prevents me from bleeding too much..."
"Maybe we should take it out. You know, no risk for anyone to twist it while it's still in you"
She wasn't wrong.
"Okay okay, but you're gonna have to do it my love..."
She gulped, looking at the knife with apprehension. She really didn't want to hurt you. But Amber could regain consciousness at any moment, and this time she would kill you.
"I'm going at three okay...?"
She grabbed the handle with her valid hand.
"One, two-" she pulled it out in one swift motion, blood gushing out of your wound
You swore under your breath, fists clenched. Tara was looking for a towel or something to bandage you up when you saw Amber moving in the corner of your eye.
"Shit" you mumbled, sitting up painfully "Tara baby, we need to go, she's waking up"
You got up as quickly as you could while Tara grabbed her crutches, lying next to Amber's bed. You took the knife and the gun with you, hoping Amber would be confused enough not to chase you right after she woke up.
As you went downstairs with Tara, Richie appeared in the hall.
"Where were you? Where's Amber?"
"Upstairs" Tara said "she tried to lock me up in a closet"
Richie's eyes widen when he saw you were bleeding. He got closer to you.
"She stabbed you"
"No shit Sherlock. How did you figured that out?"
When he took one more step closer, you saw something shiny in his hand. But it was to late to back up now, the blade was already sinking in your leg. You hissed in pain, tears in your eyes.
"She's gonna be pissed if I kill you. But don't worry, you're gonna die soon" he smirked at you "Don't even try to save her Tara, you-"
He turned around but she was nowhere to be seen.
"Fuck"
What happened after that was mostly the two of them explaining their plan to you, once you were all gathered into the kitchen - except for Tara - and some more fighting.
At one point, one of them plunged a knife in your back. You were tired of getting stabbed.
The first thing you remembered after that was Amber getting BBQed alive by Gale and Sidney. Deserved, you thought.
Then, the three of you went to the hall where Sam was slicing Richie's throat.
"Careful, they always come back"
Sam took Gale's gun and shot Richie three times. But as you thought it was finished, you heard a scream behind you. Amber was running toward you, knife in hand.
But before she could harm anyone, she was shot in the head.
"That's for stabbing my girlfriend."
Her sweet voice was filled with anger and sadness. You walked toward her, relieved that nothing happened to her, and hugged her tight, not caring if it hurt you.
<><><><> ♡ <><><><>
Months after this night, your wounds had healed, only leaving painless scars. Your throat still hurt sometimes, but never too much. The doctors said it was normal after what Amber did.
"Okay I'm leaving, have fun girls!"
Today was your fifth anniversary, and for the occasion, Sam was leaving for the night, giving you more intimacy. You were almost living with them given the time you spent at their house instead of yours.
This year, you settled for a simple date at home; romantic dinner, Netflix and chill. With the recent events, none of you wanted to go out too much.
You spent the day preparing everything with her, cooking, fighting with the flour, laughing together. That was so much fun, knowing you were not the best cook.
Everything was ready now, you just had to change.
When you finally went to the living room, Tara was lighting up the candles. She was gorgeous. You stared in awe for a minute before she made her way to you and pressed a kiss on your lips.
"You okay?"
"Yeah I- You're gorgeous tonight my love..." you placed your hands on her waist "Breathtaking even"
You could see her blush at your words.
"I could say the same to you babe" now it was your turn to blush, making her lips curl up "Come on, dinner's gonna get cold"
That was clearly not the best dinner you ever had quality speaking, but it was the best because you made it with the girl you loved.
When it was time to get the cake - maybe the best dish you had made this day - you took a small box out of your pocket.
"Before we eat the cake, I'd like to give you something"
You handed her the little box across the table, a wide smile on your face.
"Wait I got you something too" she said
She handed you a little box, almost the same as yours.
"We open it together okay?"
"3, 2, 1..."
You opened the boxes at the same time.
You got her a promise ring, physical symbol of your love for her and that you would be there no matter what.
It took you weeks to find the perfect one, but you found it. The color, the shape, it was the one you imagined. You knew it wasn't that important, but finding a pretty ring was a must to you.
When you opened your gift, you saw... a promise ring. You saw this one when you were looking for hers. It was definitely the one you would have chosen.
You were both speechless, rings in hand, and after a moment you started laughing.
"Looks like we had the same idea" you smiled, putting the ring on while Tara did the same "it's perfect baby"
You got up from your chair, leaning forward to kiss her across the table, entwining your fingers with hers in the process. She smiled against your lips.
"A perfect ring for a perfect girl"

A Lilith character study about Lucilith
Lilith thinks about how her husband would die for her, she'd kill for him and how their experiences during creation really did fucked them up but its probably fine.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lilith didn't trust easily.
She doubted she could trust at all anymore.
She was an admitted selfish woman, unapologetically ambitious, truly sinful.
She belonged in hell and she couldn't be prouder of that, of a kingdom that called her wholly it's own and loved her as fiercely as she loved it; of standing for herself among those who only knew how to kneel and demanded the same from her.
The only reason she'd say Lucifer didn't belong in Heaven was that he was simply far too good that wretched place. Even if his revulsion for her home and pride weighed heavy on her heart.
Good things didn't 'happen to' Lilith, every good thing in her life had been viciously fought for and defended: except for Lucifer.
Lucifer was the best thing to ever happen to her, the only good thing that ever just happened to her. Stepping into her life and simply giving her all the admiration, freedom and power she had could have ever desired, ever been denied, as if she deserved it, as if she didn't have to fight for it.
Lilith didn't trust easily, and small dark part of her doubted that there even was such a thing.
But she remembers what it was to be held against Lucifer while his body split the sky, all six wings shielding her without a thought to even trying to slow his own decent; and that pure relief when he saw her almost unscathed, even as his broken form was painting the ground gold in a quickly deepening puddle.
It remained her that she did know what trust was. She had a truth lain before her that not even her deepest skepticism could deny: that new scorned woman in Paradise, that had to learn all gifts came with strings, the benefit of the doubt only led to loss and that no one acted without agenda.
Lucifer was exactly who she had always seen. After everything was stripped away, there was nothing else hidden under mask or act.
He looked at Lilith like she centred the entire world, like she deserved everything and more, all of creation and anything belong it.
Because he truly believed she did.
How many nights awake had Lilith spent battling with that realization, that he was real, that anyone could be that openhanded, that endlessly eager and willing to put someone else before themselves, with no fear or hostility or even hesitation.
That he loved her.
Chose her.
Chose her before God.
(She shelved those thoughts for another time, she was spiralling enough without a contemplation of just how high his place in the universe - that he saw her as leagues above - actually was.)
She didn't bother with questions of deserving like Lucifer sometimes did. She didn't care if either of them deserved each other.
Lilith didn't 'deserve' anything, she wanted things, and then she took them.
Just like every other rare commodity Lilith got her hands on, she coveted him selfishly.
She couldn't let it ruin him. She may love hell, but Lucifer was something special, unreproducible and irreplaceable. He would not be torn down into just another sinner out for himself and his power.
Especially with the toll this separation from his family was already on him.
If she was any less sure it wouldn't help him, she'd storm the gates of Heaven itself and tear those pitiful excuses for siblings, kin and a Father apart limb by limb.
Did they not understand what they were so callously tarnishing?! This pure true divinity so infinitely rare even upon their holy kind! Tossed aside, forgotten and left to rot.
No.
Lilith wouldn't allow that.
She had always lived, worked and thrived in the scraps discarded from Heaven's over abundance. She knew the endless potential in things they habitually overlooked.
She would love and adore him like they failed to. Utilize every piece of him he offered, make fools out of everyone who'd ever given him up.
And they would learn to fear her at his stead.
Heaven has freely given her the rope they will hang by.
Imagine Shuri becoming jealous and protective when someone approaches you in a club
Tumblr media
Everyone assumed after Shuri and Namor were able to see past their need for vengeance and form an alliance. Things would go back to normal for Wakanda, and in a way, they did. The civilians were able to return to the city and got to work on rebuilding on what was destroyed. Businesses were open again, families were able to properly mourn those lost in the conflict, and M'Baku took over the throne to give Shuri some much needed time to heal. The only enemies Wakanda had to ward off were the other countries who were still hell-bent on getting some vibramium for themselves.
The only difference now was that the Black Panther had officially returned and with the announcement made worldwide. Some of the countries were now a bit more wary about attacking the Outreach centers. Especially after Shuri made a statement threatening to close them all down. If the attacks didn't cease immediately, she had been through too much in the past couple of days to have patience for them anymore. So yes, in a way, things were back to normal with everyone going through the healing process.
But that still didn't stop the Princess from throwing herself back into her work. The second she returned from her trip to Haiti, and while she seemed to be in a better headspace. None of those closest to her thought it was healthy for her to be in the lab to the break of dawn. Unfortunately, the only person available who could probably stand a chance in pulling her away from her numerous projects was also throwing themselves into their duty.
You were no better than Shuri, and sometimes people truly wondered. How the two of you were able to maintain a healthy relationship considering you rarely spent any time together these days. You were one of Wakanda's finest warriors, and although you weren't a member of any Wakanda army. All of the soldiers respected you and fought along side of you when it was needed. You had accompanied Shuri on her trip to Haiti, so whenever someone brought it up to you. That you and Shuri didn't have enough time for each other. You just shrugged at their concern and pointed out the two of you had just returned from a two-month vacation.
And the excuse would've worked if it hadn't been three months since that vacation. You spent most of your morning doing combat lessons for the new trainees, and afterward, doing some training on your own. Wakanda's army was severely depleted after the war with Talokan, and it would take a lot to restore its strength. Shuri spent the first half of the morning in bed catching up on sleep before returning to the lab. Her main concern was building more Midnight Angel suits even though Okoye insisted. The project could wait because, for now, Wakanda was not in need of a new military division. You would stop by the lab for an hour or so every day to have lunch with her, but as far as they could tell, that was the only real interaction between you two.
Everyone was growing tired of watching both of you work yourselves to death, and was determined to make you and Shuri take a break. Aneka was the one who came up with the master plan and tasked Okoye with removing Shuri from the lab. Her and Ayo were in charge of pulling you out of the training room. Even though Shuri was the stronger one with the strength of the Black Panther. There was no doubt in Aneka's heart that the Princess wouldn't hold back in order to not hurt Okoye. But you, on the other hand, would have no problem putting Aneka on her back or anyone else for that matter.
They found you in one of the many training rooms of the palace practicing with a pair of twin swords. Shuri had actually gifted you the weapons upon the return from Haiti. The previous ones you wielded were destroyed in a fight between you and Namor. You were torn up about them since the weapons were family heirlooms passed down from generation to generation. But the new ones were starting to grow on you more and more every day. They were stronger and had a built-in energy force field.
"Hey y/n, do you mind putting the swords down for a quick second?" Aneka asked, capturing your attention.
You paused mid swing, ready to decapitate a dummy's head at the sound of her voice. You turned to see her and Ayo standing on either side of you just a few feet away. "What's up? Are you guys looking for a quick sparring match."
"Not exactly," Ayo answered.
You zeroed in the way both of their bodies were slightly bent at the knees. Both of them could pounce on you at a moment's notice, and then it was the way they kept exchanging nervous glances. What were they up to? You decided whatever it was, it wasn't worth hurting them over, at least not seriously anyway. So you walked over to where your bag was located and placed the swords on top of them. The next thing you knew, both of them had seized by the arms and started dragging you out of the training room.
Aneka had your right arm while Ayo had the left, and they both a your arms pulled back into a hold. It wasn't painful, but it made it impossible for you to pull away as you struggled. "What the hell?" You hissed through clenched teeth.
"You and Shuri have been spending way too much time working. Both of you need a break okay its time to let loose and have fun, " Aneka explained.
"Are you serious our arm-"
Ayo tugged on your wrist, causing you to pause in whatever you were getting ready to say. "Our armies are still recovering, yes, but thanks to you. They are on the right path, and you deserve to have some fun. This isn't up for discussion. You and Shuri are going out tonight."
"Oh yeah, I would love to see someone get Shuri out of the lab." You scoffed at the idea.
Five minutes later and you were eating your words as you found Shuri in your shared room going through the closet. Okoye had been positioned outside the door with her arms crossed a smug expression on her face.
"Okoye took a prototype for a new weapon I was working on. It was almost complete and the only one I had. She threatened to smash it to pieces with her spear if I didn't cooperate, " Shuri said. Before you could even ask, "How would that work? Is it not made out of vibranium as well?" You questioned.
"No, it is, but I don't doubt she will find a way to accomplish it, and that's a risk I won't take. It's only one night sthandwa we could really use it, I guess."
You let out a deep sigh of defeat knowing she was right. Plus none of your friends were giving either of you a choice. But by the end of the night they would wish they had.
The girls took you and Shuri out to one of the many clubs in the city. You knew Wakanda had an active nightlife but never cared to take part in it yourself. It wasn't exactly your scene, but there was one thing you loved to do. Before you dedicated your life to becoming the best warrior you could be.
Dancing.
So, while you didn't care for the drinking or the rowdy crowd. Once the beat of the music got a hold of your heart, your body started moving along to the rhythm. You completely forgot about the need to rebuild the armies and future threats. All of your worries were washed away by the hypnotizing music. Aneka joined you on the dance floor while Shuri hung back, watching the two of you dance. She sat back in a nice and comfy velvet sofa with Okoye and Ayo by her side with a red rope surrounding the area. Of course, the club had a VIP section for the royal family. Every establishment in the city did.
Shuri threw another shot back as her eyes stayed glued to the way your body was moving. It wasn't just romantic time the two of you had been neglecting. It had been a while since the two of you had taken part in any act of physical intimacy as well. She missed the feel of her hands running down your body, pulling you closer to her as you moaned her name, and writhed under her in absolute pleasure.
Okoye could see the lust forming in her eyes and let out a chuckle at the sight. "Are you going to continue to undress her with your eyes, Princess, or do you plan to join her on the dance floor?"
Ayo smirked and nodded her head in agreement. "You're supposed to be enjoying yourself as well, Shuri."
"Oh, I am enjoying myself plenty right here. The view is perfect," Shuri said. Her voice was a bit hazy.
You could feel her eyes on you and knew what your dancing was doing to her. It was an added bonus, and while you had no problem with her throwing you over her shoulder and waltzing out of this club to the car. And doing whatever she was thinking about to you right in that vehicle. You wanted to spend just a little more time dancing right now. Aneka had stepped away to get drinks for both of you, and that was when it happened. A pair of strong hands settled on your waist, and a stranger pressed their body up against yours from behind. You feel someone breathing heavily on your neck. "Now, what is a pretty thing like you do all alone? The voice belongs to an unfamiliar man.
You could have easily broken free of his hold and pushed him away, but you wanted to have a little fun first. Jealous and overprotective Shuri was your favorite. "I'm actually spoken for honey," you told him, turning around to face him.
The man was dark-skinned and pretty tall, not completely towering over you, though. He had a nice face with a well-defined jawline, and you could see women dying to have his attention. It made you wonder why he was here trying to dance with you. Did he not have other choices, or was he just a walking red flag?
"Mmmm, well, tell me baby, what kind of man would be stupid enough to leave you alone?"
Even though the club was pretty light, the strobing lights spinning all over the dance floor lit up your face pretty well. Either this guy didn't keep up with the royal news, or he was just plain stupid. Everyone in Wakanda knew you were with Shuri exclusively, and you figured he would recognize you. Once he got a good look at your face but you could tell. He had no idea who you really were as his eyes bore into yours.
"Well, she actually isn't that far away. I'm always in her line of sight. So, if you were smart, you would just walk away right now. I really don't want to see such a pretty face get smashed in, " you warned him.
Back in the VIP section, both Okoye and Ayo attempted to jump to their feet. Shuri placed a firm hand on both of their thighs, keeping them seated. "Let her be for now," she said through gritted teeth.
"But Princess," Okoye protested.
Shuri only tightened her grip on her thigh as she listened carefully to the exchange between you and the man.
"So you really do need a real man in your life now, I see. It's a good thing I came along now, isn't it? " the man said. Not heeding your warning at all
You frowned at his reply and placed both of your hands on his chest to give him a hard shove. "Alright, buddy, this conservation is over. Keep it moving." He was definitely a walking red flag.
But the man came back, wrapping a strong arm around your waist to pull you to his chest. "Hey, I'm not done with you alright you should be nicer to me. I mean, come on, don't you want to make your parents proud and get married to someone worthy."
You saw a quick flash of anger in his eyes under the red passing lights. You glanced over his shoulder to see Shuri getting up from the sofa. She had reached her breaking point it was all fun and games until he came back. After you pushed him away.
"Alright buddy, I don't think you know who's girl you're messing with, and trust me when I say you don't want to find out the hard way. Just let me go and leave while you still can. " You tried to warn him again.
He shook his head. "I'm not worried about some stupid chick. I can make her mine t-ahhhhh." His words were cut off with a cry of pain as you twisted out of his hold, latched onto his hand, and bent his wrist backward. You brought your knee up into his stomach, making him double over with a groan.
"Don't you dare talk about her" You growled.
Shuri had reached both of you by now and gripped him by the back of his knee. "You don't mind if I take over sthandwa, do you?" she asked with a sickly sweet smile.
"Not at all usana," you replied, releasing his wrist and taking a step back.
She forced him to stand up straight so he could get a look at her face. He was trying to get his breath back but opened his mouth, ready to throw insults.
"Look chick, no offense, but your girl dese-" He paused as his eyes settled on her face, and he realized just exactly who he was talking to. His eyes grew wide with fear as his gaze flickered back and forth between the two of you.
"No, please go on. You were saying," Shuri encouraged him.
"Um, your Highness Princess, I meant no disrespect truly. I'm sorry. I didn't know she was with you, " He said. It wasn't just an apology, but a desperate plea for his life.
"Don't waste your breath usisidenge she whispered into his ear and kicked his legs out from under him. She released her hold on his neck, letting him fly back to the floor.
He landed on his back with a low thud that could barely be heard over the music. He started to groan but had no real time to recover as Shuri loomed over him. She gathered his shirt up in her right hand, lifting his head up from the floor, and delivered a hard left hook to his face. His head snapped to the side so hard you thought his neck had been broken. if she hadn't been holding back, then it would have snapped.
She let the man drop to the floor now unconscious. Her eyes found yours just a few feet away filled with want no need for her touch. Shuri beckoned for you to come to her, which you did right away, letting her take you by the hand.
"Should we um stop them?" Aneka asked, watching as the Princess pulled you in the direction of the exit.
"No, trust me, they're not going anywhere besides the car," Okoye told her.
Aneka didn't pick up on what she was implying right away, but her eyes widened in surprise a few seconds later. "So what now?"
"We continue to enjoy our night out, my love," Ayo said, taking her by the hand. She led her lover back onto the dance floor, looking back at the General. "You to Okoye, let's go."
Outside the club, Shuri had led you back to the car, pushing you up against it. A hand wrapped around your throat, she kissed you roughly on the mouth. You kissed back, placing your hands on her hip. Your mouth moved in sync with hers for the longest time, turning you even more. You let out a moan as you felt her hand drift under your dress and move your panties aside.
In a flash, she had plunged two fingers inside of you, feeling how wet you were for her. "This better be because of me," she whispered in a harsh tone in your ear.
"It is," you promised.
Shuri smirked, pulling her fingers free as you let out a soft whine. "Get in the car now," she ordered, yanking the back door open for you.
You made a mental note to thank all of the girls tomorrow. Or maybe the next day because you were starting to doubt that you would even be able to walk tomorrow. As Shuri climbed into the backseat with you, the lust filling the air.
"no matter what anyone says."
synopsis: after going public with your relationship, you struggle with insecurities and comparisons from the public, but jungkook's reassurance and love help you overcome your doubts and realize that you are meant to be together.
just a small drabble to hold you over until i know places part two (✯◡✯)
You and Jungkook had been dating for a few months now. As idols, you both knew how important it was to keep your relationship private. But your agencies recently confirmed it after it was leaked to dispatch (how typical), and the media went crazy.
It was initially overwhelming, but you and Jungkook did your best to not let it affect you. You both cherished the moments you spent together, whether it was hanging out at home or going out on dates.
However, things started to change when fans began comparing your relationship to one Jungkook had before. It was with another girl group idol, and they were saying they were a better couple. You couldn't help but feel insecure and wonder if you were good enough for Jungkook.
One day, you were both sitting in his studio, and you couldn't keep your thoughts to yourself anymore. "Jungkook, do you think we're a good couple?" you asked, feeling vulnerable.
He looked at you, confusion written all over his face. "Of course we are, Y/N. Why would you even ask that?"
"It's just that everyone keeps comparing me to your ex-girlfriend, and they're saying how she was a better match for you. I don't know if I can measure up to her," you admitted, tears filling your eyes.
Jungkook's eyes softened as he took your hand. "Y/N, don't listen to them. You're more than enough for me. I love you, and that's all that matters. We're a great couple, and I wouldn't want to be with anyone else."
You felt relieved hearing his words, but your insecurities didn't disappear overnight. The comparisons and comments continued, and you found yourself pulling away from Jungkook. You didn't want to burden him with your thoughts and feelings, so you tried to deal with them on your own.
One day, you were driving to a restaurant for dinner in his car. The radio played softly in the background, but neither of you was talking. You were lost in your thoughts, and Jungkook seemed to notice.
"Y/N, is everything okay?" he asked, breaking the silence.
You hesitated before saying, "I just feel like I'm not good enough for you."
Jungkook sighed and pulled the car over to the side of the road. "Y/N, why do you keep saying that? I love you, and I don't want anyone else. You're perfect just the way you are."
"But, they keep saying how your ex-girlfriend was better for you. What if they're right?" you asked, tears streaming down your face.
Jungkook took your hand and looked at you, his eyes full of love and sincerity. "Y/N, listen to me. My past relationship is just that, in the past. We weren't meant to be together. You and I are meant to be together. You make me happy, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Please don't let anyone else's opinions affect our relationship."
You looked at him and felt your heart swell with love for him. You knew he was right. You couldn't let anyone else's opinions affect your relationship with Jungkook.
"Jungkook, I love you too," you said, leaning over to kiss him.
He smiled and wrapped his arms around you, pulling you closer to him. "I love you more, Y/N. And I promise to always be here for you, no matter what anyone else says."
You felt grateful for Jungkook's love and support. You knew that as long as you had him by your side, you could overcome any obstacle that came your way.
Make a choice
Tumblr media
Ch. 7 You feel like you don't belong anywhere, but the Darkling makes you a proposal which helps you make up your mind . [Masterlist] Previous - Next
You need to make a choice.
The tsaritsa called for a private meeting this morning, which you didn't expect at all, not so soon anyway. You left your chambers in the Little Palace to be escorted to the royal quarters. You had left the Grand Palace only a few days earlier, but it already felt so unfamiliar. It used to be your home, but you have no home, now.
The tsaritsa welcomed you like you just came back from a nice visit to Novyi Zem, and asked her servants for tea and biscuits. Then she managed to compliment you for the dress you chose in the morning. You thanked her, but kept feeling slightly suspicious, waiting for the storm to come. And just as you were taking your first sip of tea, she added: "I see you are not wearing a kefta".
"No, I'm not, moya tsaritsa".
"May I ask why?"
You wished you told her it was none of her business. But somehow you managed to take a small sip of tea and then answer, perfectly calm: "My position at the Little Palace is currently... unclear".
She raised an eyebrow. "How odd. General Kirigan seemed already fond of you. But I guessed not everything is how it seems, as you proved us to be, dear".
There it was, the first blow. You smiled and gulped down your tea, hot as your shame.
Your royal cousin stood silent for a little while, before casually saying: "Maybe we could pretend nothing happened".
"Excuse me?"
She leaned over to you, whispering. "I could arrange for you to leave. Disappear. Wouldn't you like that? Living your life, far away. No more talking of summoning, sorcery or whatever all this matter is about".
"This matter is..." you were hurt, somewhere deep inside, because you had realized that you were no more than dust to be swept under the carpet. "I am Grisha, cousin".
"And royal". She remarked. "There are no Grisha in the royal family".
"I am the first".
"Are you?"
She left you wondering, and doubts and questions fell hard on you, like winter rain. How many more Grisha were born in the royal family, and how many disappeared?
And precisely, how did they disappear?
"I'll think of your generous offer", you smiled, hiding your fear and your rage behind the prettiest of smiles.
But now, you storm through the Little Palace. You are done, being a prisoner or waiting for whatever destiny has in store for you. You don't know if you are supposed to be wondering around, and any Grisha on your path would surely wonder what is this polished girl in otkasat'sya clothes doing around their home, but you don't care anymore at this point.
You need to make a choice. And you need to think.
So you run down the stairs, sneak in the stable and reach for your horse, which you missed terribly. While you proceed to saddle him, you think of some witty explanation for anyone who could surprise you right there.
And just as you're tightening the straps under the saddle, you see the Darkling entering the stable.
You stay completely still, while he pats his horse on the head, taking the reins in his hand. You are considering sneaking out unnoticed, when he turns and sees you.
There is a moment of silence. Then he says: "I'm glad to see you out of your chambers".
"That's it?" you snap. "All you have to say?"
"Is there something else you wished I said?"
Not really, but you are still waiting to figure him out, to figure all of this out. You simply shake your head, and turn to leave.
His voice reaches you at your back. "Please, don't leave".
He sounds earnest, just slightly exasperated. You stop.
"I was just about to head out", he continues. "I know how you like riding".
He can't see you over there, but he can feel the smile in your voice. "We already know who's going to win the chase".
"No chasing this time. We ride together".
Maybe it's the way he says it. Maybe it's the words. Eventually, you take you horse and follow outside.
You've been quite unfair to him. He is an exceptional rider. He's also the only person you know in the Little Palace, except for Genya, and even know you don't trust him yet, it feels good not being alone with your thoughts.
You ride side to side, and only sometimes you talk, but not about moon and darkness, destiny or summoning. You talk about the path you are riding, the blurred horizon and the skeleton trees not ready for spring yet.
You don't ask him once where he's taking you. You like to pretend he's taking you far away, further than what the tsaritsa promised you. A place where you can glow with moonlight without fearing to be thrown on the battlefield.
Then you remind yourself that he's the one who's probably going to throw you on the battlefield, and your heart cracks a little.
You stop by a fountain, to let the horse drink plenty. You notice the carvings on the side: skulls, soldiers and sorcery.
"How charming", you mumble, recognising the Black Heretic's tale in the pictures. "To remind me of my duties".
"And what exactly are your duties?" he asks, and that irritates you more than you care to show.
"You perfectly know that". You gesture to the fountain. "Once upon a time darkness fell on the land. Since then, people have been waiting for someone to get rid of their nightmare. It never occurred them that the chosen one might have her own nightmares".
You are no longer looking at him, but you can feel him frowning. "What do you mean?"
You hesitate, but then you tell him. "I've been dreaming about it for years. Shadows. Monsters. Blood".
He stares at you, and doesn't talk. For a moment he seems terrified. Then he smiles.
"Would you believe me if I told you that I took you here because this is one of my favorite spots, and for no other reason whatsoever?"
"No."
He laughs. It's the first time you hear him laughing. You let a smile escape your lips. His eyes are still laughing when he asks: "I expected you to run away on the first day at the Little Palace. Why did you stay?"
The question leaves you speechless. He's right. Why haven't you? "I guess..." you try to collect your thought. Finally, you find them. "I am tired of hiding".
He nods. You are sitting by the fountain, at this point, and he sits next to you, but not too close.
"I would like you to join me on an expedition", he says.
You flinch. "Where? Why?"
"I'm leaving tomorrow for the Fjerdan border. I would like you to come".
"So you are taking me to the batterfield".
"To the border", he remarks. "See with your eyes what the stakes are. What we are fighting for".
You don't answer, so he stands up and goes to kneel in front of you, just like he did on that first night in the Little Palace. The memory makes you blush, but he speaks before you can stand up and leave.
"We fight so that no Grisha will hide anymore", he says, looking at you in the eye. "No one. Ever".
"And there is a price to pay", you whisper.
"Everything has a price". His voice is heavy and regretful, and you almost feel his pain in his words.
You stand up. You feel like a queen with a postulant knight at your feet, and you'd like to think that you have the upper hand, but you also know it's much more complicated than this.
You are the one to give him your hand to help him up, this time. He accepts it with a cunning smile, and even if your skin fizzles as you touch him, you control your power, so that you only glow a little.
"Fine", you say. "I'll come".
At least, today you have made a choice.
No One Else
She’s not sure why she'd ever let it drag out for so long.
In the beginning, it could be blamed on things outside their control. Where, between the tension that had always simmered within their strained dynamic as pretty girl and vile boy -plus the oncoming of puberty and its whirl of hormones- they were both left in a turmoil of strange pheromones making them panicked, embarrassed, confused, and most of all in dire need of an outlet for it all.
One of which they surprisingly found in each other.
They’d been but foolish teenagers at a silly house party at the time, their first-ever shots of alcohol buzzing through their system as they shared a kiss like none other.
They’d stumbled up the stairs and gotten frisky in the bedroom while family pictures of their shared friend and his family witnessed them tearing at each other until the skin of childhood had shed and left them both as grown-ups.
Waking up with a new special understanding of themselves and each other, one with a strange respect and newfound curiosity for the other’s body.
But why he hadn't grown bored of it since and why she'd never put her foot down and ended things was beyond her.
Katsuki had explained it once, one of those times he'd come stumbling into her apartment, drunk and in the midst of buckling up his pants while pawing at her. Kissing her sloppy, he’d mumbled out something along the lines of how no one else knows him like she does.
And she supposed that had mainly been the reason; that they just knew each other too well and had known each other too long, to which point everyone else just seemed alien; that there was a sort of comfort -if one could call it that- in the familiarity of each other that just couldn't be replicated or replaced by anyone else.
She’d been raised and groomed to sustain Katsuki and all his ugly tempers all her life. And -blinded by a sense of distorted credit she used to don herself- she couldn't quite imagine anyone being able to handle him but her. And -though she still can’t really put her finger on why- the thought had used to make her proud.
It had made her feel somewhat special...
And needed.
She thought it would go on forever then…
Not that she’d ever bothered to give it much thought.
That is… until she had that very flirty encounter at the café where she worked. Where, in between being sweet-talked into a stuttering blushed mess and being asked out for coffee someplace where she wouldn't have to serve it herself, she’d come to question her current relationship and started doubting her true obligations toward Katsuki as a partner.
They didn’t go on dates. They didn’t live together. They didn’t text or call one another. They didn’t eat dinner or plan things or visit each other’s parents.
She didn’t have anything in his apartment, nor him in hers. She’d never washed any of his clothes. She’d never worn any of his clothes. She’d never even driven his car.
They’d never given each other presents. They didn’t tell people about their relationship. They didn’t talk about work, their day, or their feelings. Actually -having given it a long thought- they didn’t really talk at all.
In fact, when it came down to it, the only thing she'd been able to think of that they'd ever done together… was sex.
Sex and nothing more…
She doesn’t know if things would have ever changed if he hadn’t asked her what the number scrawled in blue pen on her arm was...
But nevertheless, that’s when Katsuki started acting strange.
She'd never expected he’d get so upset by it, but she ended up apologizing that night while promising him that next time she wouldn’t be so silly, that next time she’d make it clear she already had a boyfriend.
She remembers thinking how the way he fucked her that night had been nothing short of desperate. Having given her nearly no room to breathe with how tightly he’d held her, his face nuzzling into her neck with lovebites, thrusting into her in such a way he was barely even pulling out, pounding her cervix more than her cunt to the point she’d feared it bruised, having had to pat his shoulder to tell him to calm down.
He’d held her face then, and she’d realized that they hadn’t really had too much eye contact before. She remembers that even then, she couldn’t really decide if she liked it or not. Or rather... she’s sure she’d found it unpleasant, though just hadn’t had the guts to give the feeling any influence.
She regrets it now that it’s too late. Maybe if she’d done or said something back then, she wouldn’t be in the situation she was trapped in now.
For lack of a better -more suitable- word, she’d have to say he’d become clingy if only it didn’t sound too sweet and childish for someone so much larger than her. But maybe she’d just feared calling it what it had been.
And what it had really been…
Was threatening.
Overbearing and possessive, and needlessly protective. He’d quickly become paranoid with jealousy. Portraying strange obsessive emotions she hadn't known he harbored for her at all until then.
She hadn’t really been able to put her finger on it at the time.
It started out small. Or, small in comparison to now. Small pleasantries he’d never bothered with before. Small niceties she’d never imagined the two of them would do together.
Thinking back, the first deviation -aside from the triggering night he’d initially seen the phone number and felt the threat of her slipping from his grasp- was the time he’d come and visited her at work when out on patrol. And though he hadn’t really asked, she’d come to realize -rather hesitantly- that he’d come there to eat lunch together with her.
Maybe she’d been too swept up in the embarrassing buzz to notice, caught in the paparazzi of hushed whispers and judgy stares -all of them asking whom the Plain Jane thought she was, eating lunch with the up-and-coming pro-hero Dynamight- she hadn’t really the time nor mind to pay attention to him and all his newly awoken instincts regarding her.
It seemed fucking silly now… How she’d foolishly thought the bizarre lunch was an isolated incident of which wouldn’t ever happen again, only to find herself quickly schooled the next day and the day after that, coming to understand she was to expect it as a regular thing. And soon, it wasn’t even the strangest thing anymore.
Soon he was driving her home every day, coming inside, eating dinner, watching the news until late, and staying the night. Soon she found herself waking up in his apartment alone, coming downstairs to find he’d made her breakfast before leaving, combined with a little note telling her when he’d be back. Soon she wasn’t spending a single week or weekend without him. Soon she couldn’t find anything to wear that didn’t either remind her of him or smell like him or that downright didn’t belong to him completely.
And he’d started taking her places too -on dates- broadcasting their relationship to anyone with a cameraphone who could snap a picture and send it to every gossip magazine in Japan. He’d introduced her to his colleagues -whom she knew to be “friends” from some rather upsetting stories he’d told her when he was in a less and less rare mood for talking- and they’d seemed to know whom she was just as intimately, giving her the sneaking suspicion that Katsuki’d been running his mouth and saying private things he ought not to.
But that had all been child’s play.
It got out of control when he’d ordered a delivery truck to pack down all her things and move them all to his apartment before she got home from work. Sure, he’d introduced the idea of living together in passing, but she couldn’t remember ever committing to it or being at all close to an understanding of where and when.
Thinking about it now, that was probably her last chance of escaping before things got ugly.
But then, it was already too late. She was living with him suddenly. Sharing all his space while unable to shake that awfully crippling feeling of just being another medal or trophy up on the mantle. Just a decorative doll he’d locked behind glass.
She’d felt as though her head was in a cloud. And not in a nice way, but in the utmost hollow way. As though she’d put herself on auto-pilot and just gone with the stream like jellyfish.
And now…
Now he was down on one knee.
Asking -no demanding- that she give him everything.
For life until due death.
Just the two of them.
Together.
Forever.
She swallowed thickly, feeling her head prickle as though it had fallen asleep without taking her with it.
Her lips dry, her eyes dry, feeling more sober than ever.
She took a breath and, on the next exhale, spoke.
“No.”
They both just stared at each other for a while as though neither could decide who was more shell-shocked and had the right reserved to remain still the longest. She left -deciding it was the person on the floor with the expensive ring weighing down his hand- and walked towards the mudroom.
“What are you doing?” He asked then, hesitantly at first. Shaken from his spot, he’d resumed his full height again, loudly stomping across the floor to reach her.
“I’m sorry- I- I can’t stay here- I need to go.” She rushed, head spinning, only able to understand how she wanted to put shoes on and leave. Maybe get a drink at a bar by herself and figure her shit out without being suffocated by him.
“Don’t do this.” He said then, sounding desperate and somewhat feeble if it weren’t for how he had her pushed against the wall in the same second.
She nearly decided against herself when seeing the look on his face. Warped into something truly fragile. Plead had his brows pinched together while his sharp red eyes -now doe-like- had glossed over and looked nothing short of hopeless and scared.
She’d be lying if she said it didn’t make her heart twist and ache and feel a little guilty.
But nevertheless.
“I can’t marry you, Katsuki….”
She couldn’t keep doing this.
“I’m sorry- I don’t love-”
She didn’t get to finish. The word taken, stifled, strangled in a fist closing around her throat.
“You do love me.” He refuted quickly, as though terrified to have let her finish. “You’ve always loved me.” Trembling while he said it, as though trying to force himself into believing it too.
Shaking her collar in unstable hands. Bearing down on her until she couldn’t be pushed flatter against the stone behind her, until his forehead rested against the wall and his lips brushed the shell of her ear in hot, heavy strained breaths.
“You’re just confused.” He rasped, voice light and breathy and nearly amounting to a giggle -or a sob- she wasn’t sure which.
But she couldn’t care much when she couldn’t breathe. Head burning into a numb wet cotton that was no longer able to tell her to push him off and instead let her hands go limp against his chest, knees going weak beneath her.
“Katsuki… Kat… su-”
She was convinced he’d kill her before the tiniest slither of air was allowed back in through her windpipe, gasping for it like a glutton until coughing it all up again when choking on her own desperate gulps.
Her hands held her throat in an act of soothing it from the forming bruises and shielding it from further attack. But Katsuki was ahead of her and had his sights on attacking something else.
He took her by the hair and started pulling, dragging her from the door and further into the apartment.
“Stop- stop it- Katsuki-” She begged between hiccups and coughs, her hands clawing at his in an effort to free his grasp from her scalp. Her shins dragged to burns against the cold marble as her legs kicked in the struggle, hitting the floor in a series of sporadic thuds until he stopped. “Katsuki-”
He’d crossed the threshold of their bedroom and was now throwing her down on the mattress, pinning her in the same second with a hand gripping her jaw and eyes a searing cold that seemed to lash out at her like unstable fire, glaring at her with a look so blank and empty she felt it like the chill of death creep throughout her bones.
“If you want me to be nice, you should shut up.”
She knew she ought to listen, but still, one last prayer slipped off her tongue against her better judgment before she could think twice about it. “Katsuki, please don’t do this-”
“Don’t do what!?” He barked -spit flying and teeth bared just like a rabid rottweiler- louder than she’d ever witnessed, loud enough to make her wince. “Break your heart!?” His voice cracked on the cry, and he paused, giving another gruesome and gut-wrenching chuckle. Head ducking between her breasts with spikey hair nipping at her throat like a million needles.
His hand tightened even more, clawing into her cheeks.
“I’m just making things even.”
She’d never realized just how hopeless she was if she’d ever needed to fend him off. But she’d never needed to before, never wanted to until now.
Now that he had her so helplessly beneath him, where the reality was slowly dawning on her and making her ever more hysteric, slowly settling upon her like dust after an explosion. The ensuing violation and her utter defeat in fighting it, her failure in doing much more than make it worse, where every time she landed anything that weakly resembled a slap or kick, he retaliated tenfold by crushing her in his strength.
Spreading her legs by positioning himself between them, he cared little for all her bleating where the former fight she’d tried to make match his diminished into desperate attempts to protect herself instead. She was sobbing now, gasping for breath with her chest rising and falling on beat with the deafening drums of her racing heart.
He tugged his tie loose and threw it off his head, wrapping her wrists in the loop and tightening it into restraints. Only now noticing just how brittle she was. So much smaller than him. So much so, he nearly abandoned his task of tying her hands to the bedpost in all. But -finding he might lose his cool and break her arm if she dared continue shoving at him- he pulled them over her head and fastened them anyway, if not for his than for her sake to avoid it.
And then she really was less than nothing beneath him. Just a defenseless pile of warm plush flesh soft against him and all his scarred muscles and callouses and years upon years of dedicated training.
She’d pulled her thighs shut, but it hardly mattered. His hands -buried in the fine plume of her cakey fat- had them both spread again with nearly no strength put into it at all.
It was all right there -taken with no effort- only a cute pink cotton panty stopping him.
His heart clenched at that, flickered and tugged with misery at the look of her crying into her own arm, trying to comfort herself while her chest heaved, already tired of screaming and bawling. Having resorted to soft sniffles and weak snivels while tiny quakes shook through her still, goosebumps adorning all her exposed flesh, which was every part of her sept for what her pretty silk dress kept hidden.
She was so beautiful…
Adorable.
Precious and just…
Too good.
He knew that. He knew that she was too good for him and had always been too good for him -part of the reason why he used to act as though he hated her- when, in reality… he actually…
“I love you.” He cried. “I’ve always loved you….”
Hot tears splashed in big droplets, staining the silk with splotches that seeped into large flecks on her stomach.
“I can’t live without you-” He continued, his hands shaking where he held her apart while his body sagged forward, bowing down, donning soft kisses to her neck and jaw, upon the tears staining her cheeks with streaks, whispering in a voice close to breaking. “I can’t- I won’t-” Choked and pitiful, raw from shouting only a moment earlier.
One of his hands detached from its bruising grip, whilst the other loosened and slid higher -pulling her dress up on its way- and started rubbing loving circles into her midriff. She heard his buckle go undone a second later and offered another whimpering sob, her own hands jostling in their bonds on beat with her shaky breaths while trying to angle her face further away with the aim of avoiding the attack of his wet teary kisses.
“I’m sorry… I’m sorry, but I can’t… I can’t let you go.”
She felt him press against her clothed cunt with the weight of his swollen thickness and let out another whimper. Nose stuffed full with the smell of his breath and the scent of his sweet nitro-like sweat and eyes full of unyielding tears.
His hand reached for her panty, hooking the trail and pulling it to the side, making her sink her teeth into the plump of her lip to suppress yet another whimper while she cringed with uncomfort and the unanswered wishes for him to stop as he nibbled on the corner of her mouth with more teary proposals.
His fingers soon prodded her slit like they’d done nearly every day for years since they were but teens. Touching her with a perfected skill he’d learned would have her shiver with arousal.
She yielded quickly, her sex turning puffy and wet sooner than she had the time to be embarrassed about it.
“No one knows you as well as I do. No one loves you as much as I do.” He chanted against her skin, entering her with both his longest digits, pumping them deep and scraping them in a cruel curl into that spot he knew had her toes doing the same. Smiling, once her hips made an involuntary jolt in response. “No one else but me.”
He pulled his hands to himself once she’d left three of his digits warm and soaking with slick, lathering his own arousal with it before nudging his cockhead against her opening in a sticky kiss and breaching it.
She stiffened, and he groaned into her neck at the feel of her clamping down even tighter as he bottomed out into her already taunt choke.
“No one else would know how to love you.” He hissed, setting a sweet tempo, lips still close, grazing on the peachfuzz of her cheek, ghosting her skin with hot breaths and even hotter words.  “No one else would know the first thing to do with you once they had you.”
She shook her head, more so in askance of space than anything else. Needing air free of him. Needing to clear her head off the building warmth she felt spread from her core. Needing to shake the coil loose before it could knot itself further. But it seemed the more she tried fending it off, the faster it neared its end, like a spark aided by the wind in chasing the tail of a wic until exploding what dynamite found at its end.
She always shook so prettily when cumming -so preciously- when spilling over and moaning all flushed and cute for him with her hips riding it out against his until it left her panting, blushed, and adorned with a shiny sheen of dew, making her look golden in the glory of the after high.
He used to regard it as something sweet she’d give him, like a reward or devotion.
Only now did he realize how utterly at his mercy she was -unable to keep even this from him- just completely laid bare to accept what he gave and give what he decided to take.
She was his, and not even she herself could deny it.
She belonged to him.
She belonged to him.
She belonged to him.
“No one else.”
The extremely private funeral was only a few weeks later, and Mason was hardly herself anymore. Anyone who knew her could see she was just a shell of herself, hardly there, even when she spoke.
They managed to get a large, private estate in Washington, near her mothers home town, where Mason had grown up. This was perfect for the service, considering it was remote and by exclusive invite only. The last thing anybody wanted was photos or people showing up to ask questions. The media knows almost nothing at this point, just that something has changed and all of Mason's projects have been postponed. Spare, so far, her and Drew's wedding, which was scheduled to take place in two months and thirteen days.
Mason had been counting them down with a childish excitement, but now, as she stands over her mothers coffin, alone, she's dreading it. How can it go on when her mom won't be there to celebrate with them? She can't even imagine it.
"Mason.." She looks up quickly, turning to see Drew as he walks up to her. "It's gonna rain, we've got to head out." He says, wrapping an arm around her and kissing the side of her head.
Everyone else has left, including Este and her family, including Drew's parents, who were kind enough to make the trip from North Carolina, and including her father; and after waiting in the car for her for forty-five minutes, Drew decided enough was enough. He agreed to give her the time alone, of course he did, he wouldn't dream of saying no; but at this point it's not benefitting her anymore. Or him, to sit in the car and watch from a distance as she shakes and stares into space. It's hard to watch.
"Five more minutes?" Mason requests, not having the heart to look up at him.
"Of course." Drew nods, rubbing her shoulder gently. "I'm gonna stay, though."
She nods, leaning her head on his shoulder, lip quivering as she looks down at the coffin, yet to be buried. It's empty, she knows that, but that doesn't make it any easier for her to walk away.
"Jeez, Mace.." Drew sighs softly. He's never figured out what to say, he had hoped it would come to him eventually, but the only thing he's realized is that there is no right answer. Nothing can bring Catherine back, there is not a thing in the world he could do to make her feel better, and he feels so hopeless. "I miss her." He settles on, wanting her to at least know he kind of understands.
"I don't understand... I don't understand why." Mason chokes out, shaking her head and turning to bury her face in his chest, hugging onto him like her life depended on it. It was a car accident, of all things. Wrong place, wrong time. Why did it have to be her?
Drew just shakes his head. "I don't know. She's not gone, though, hey?" He makes sure she's listening, kissing her head again. "She's gonna haunt us like crazy, she could never leave you." He laughs slightly, trying to make her smile.
It works only a little bit, making Mason laugh slightly through her tears. "True. She's gonna be throwing eggs at me if I forget to eat breakfast." She adds, nodding slightly.
"I don't doubt it for a minute." Drew smiles, craning his neck to try and get a look at her smile. He's missed it, she hasn't smiled in weeks. They haven't really talked about any of this yet, but Drew knows he has to wait until she is ready. She's getting there, he can tell. "Can I take you home? I've got to get you fed before Cath uses her ghost powers to try and make you spaghetti or something."
"No." Mason shakes her head. "I hope she does."
"Okay, well, you can explain your late dinner to her so she doesn't come after me." He chuckles, giving her a gentle squeeze.
Three Years Ago
"Mason! I saw on Twitter that you went on a date this week. Twitter! How dare you not call me first!" Catherine says, excitement clear in her tone as soon as her daughter picks up the phone.
"Hi mom." Mason rolls her eyes playfully, dropping her hand to put it on speaker so Este can hear as well.
"Hi Ellen!" Este says, instantly putting her phone down to join the conversation. When they first met, Este had mistakenly remembered Catherine's name as being 'Ellen', and it was just too funny for the three of them to ever let go.
"You can't distract me! Tell me what's going on." Her mom says, making Mason blush and Este grabs the phone from her.
"Oh my god, Ellen, he's a dreamboat! Okay, so, his name is Drew, they met at that premiere I brought her to. That Netflix show I'm working on, Outer Banks? He's in the show. He plays Rafe."
"Oh yes, right. Okay." Catherine laughs, urging her on as Mason buries her face in her hands, shaking her head with embarrassment. "I haven't seen it yet Este but you know it's on my list."
"Yeah, of course! Anyway, you should have seen them, he was like all over her! I'm pretty sure he pretended to 'accidentally' bump into her so they could talk. It was so cute." Este gushes. "Hold on! There's pictures, I'll send them to you."
She grabs her phone again to find the pictures as Catherine fires questions at them. "What did he say? What's he like? Where did you go? Tell me everything I can't wait another minute!"
"Okay, mom, slow down." Mason intervenes. "It was just one date, it's not like he proposed or something."
"Well sorry for being excited! I didn't know that was a crime." She replies with a sassy tone.
"It's not. I just, I don't know. I don't know if I'm ready for another relationship, so I don't know if I'll see him again."
"Oh, shut up." Este says, rolling her eyes at her friend. "He's amazing. Seriously, he looks at you like you're the only girl in the world. Don't push him away because you're scared. Brady was a jerk, Drew's not like that."
"Okay but how do you know?"
"Uh, I don't know, maybe because I've worked with him for two years now?"
"No, you haven't, you've worked with Madelyn and Madison for two years. He was just occasionally around."
"Exactly, if there was any red flags about him they would have told me. I know all the tea, trust." Este insists, scrolling away on her phone looking for all the pictures of Drew and Mason from the premiere. "For example, okay, Rudy and Elaine? They're like, totally on the outs. They don't even know it yet but the rest of us can all tell. She's not great to him. Also I knew about Chase and Madelyn's break up before he did, okay? You always trust the makeup artist! I know everything, but with Drew? There's never been anything. No drama, no one has had a bad thing to say about him ever. Also, Ellen, I just sent the pictures to you."
"See! Honey, just give him a chance." Catherine agrees and Mason sighs. "Oh! Oh gosh, these are so precious! He's very handsome, Mason."
"Ugh, mom!" Mason groans, throwing her head back against the couch cushions.
"I'm not giving you a choice. You need to keep seeing him, it'll be good for you. Just one more date if he asks, then you can do whatever you want. Just give him a shot." She says seriously, pleading with her daughter at this point to at least try.
"I'm glad you say that because he did already ask!" Este tells her. "Mason just hasn't called him back yet."
"Of course he did! You're amazing! You're beautiful, you're so kind, I can't imagine that he wouldn't want to spend more time with you, Honey."
Mason sighs, cheeks totally red and she nods. "Okay, fine, mom. You've convinced me. I'll call him back."
Six Months Later
Drew's bouncing his knee rapidly as Mason drives them down the quiet block, on their way to her parents home in a small town in Washington. "Nervous?" She asks him with a giggle, looking over as he stares out the window.
"No, what makes you say that?" Drew replies, quickly ceasing the movements of his leg.
"Just a hunch." Mason shrugs. "But if you were nervous, I'd say 'Don't worry, they'll adore you'." She assures him, turning onto her block.
"This is it!" She smiles, and he tenses up as she slows down, pretending to pull over.
"Shit, okay, I'm scared." He admits, making her laugh.
"I'm kidding. That wasn't even the house." Mason giggles, pulling out onto the road again.
"Screw you." Drew laughs, shaking his head. "That's not funny, by the way."
"Okay, okay. Sorry. This actually is it though." She says, taking a right turn into the driveway.
"Oh god." Drew groans, leaning his head back and closing his eyes, taking a deep breath. He doesn't even know why he's so nervous, he just wants to make a good impression, but Mason has told him time and time again that they already have a good impression of him based on everything she's told them.
"Watch this. We have about five... four... three..." As Mason counts down, unbuckling her seatbelt and watching the front door of the small ranch home, which suddenly flies open and her mom comes running out, straight up to the car. "Yep, told you." She grins over at Drew, opening her door and stepping out.
"Mason! Oh, I missed you so much!" Catherine smiles, pulling her into a tight hug and kissing her cheek.
"I missed you too..." She smiles, hugging her back and looking over to her dad who is standing against the door frame with a smile on his face. He gives her a quick wave which she returns behind her moms back, before her mom is letting her go.
"Oh, you're Drew! Hi, dear! It's so good to finally meet you!" She's quickly at his side of the car, giving him a hug as well. Him and Mason share a look over her head, and Mason gives him two thumbs up as he chuckles awkwardly and hugs her mom back.
"It's nice to meet you, Catherine." He agrees as she lets him go.
"Oh please, call me Cath. Or Mom. Whichever suits you more." She waves him off, smiling up at him. "Geez, Este wasn't kidding, you are more handsome in person. And tall. My goodness."
"Oh my god, mom!" Mason laughs, blushing furiously as her dad makes his way down the stairs.
"What? I just want him to be comfortable!" Catherine defends, patting Drew on the arm and walking around to the back of the car.
"And you think saying that will help?" Mason giggles, quickly walking up to her dad and hugging him as well.
"Well, I don't know I'm just being nice." Catherine insists, opening the trunk to get their suitcases out.
"I've got it! We're good." Drew insists, cheeks still flushed as he joins her, grabbing them out for her.
"I should probably help him, hey?" Miles whispered to his daughter with a smile and she nods as he nudges her shoulder.
"Yes please, dad." She whispers back, laughing quietly as he walks away, and Mason returns to the car to grab her purse out.
"Here, let me help." Miles says, grabbing his daughters pink suitcase off the ground. "Mason doesn't travel light, hey?"
"No she does not." Drew chuckles, shaking his head.
"Something wrong with that?" Her dad asks, serious now as he raises an eyebrow at Drew.
"Oh- no! Definitely not, sir. Gotta be prepared, you know?" Drew says, the blood draining from his face as he tries to salvage the situation.
"Dad!" Mason scolds him, and he instantly breaks character, laughing at the boys response.
"I'm kidding, don't worry." He laughs, patting his shoulder. "I'm Miles, by the way."
Drew laughs awkwardly, clearly getting minor whiplash from the situation. "Nice to meet you, I'm Drew." He says, repeatedly glancing up at his girlfriend.
"Let's get everything inside before it rains, yeah? We don't have all that beautiful sunny weather that you guys are used to in North Carolina and LA." Catherine says, taking a bag from Drew before he can protest and making her way back inside.
By the time everyone else makes it inside, Catherine is already on facetime with Este, who's back in LA. Mason doesn't know who was more likely to call each other out of the two of them. "Gosh, honey, you were right about him he is lovely!" Catherine says, turning as she hears the door shut. "Oh, here they are! Want to say hi?"
"You know I do!" Este grins, still laughing about how quickly Catherine called her to talk about Drew once they arrived. "Hey guys! How was the flight?" She asks as Catherine passes the phone off to Mason.
"It was good. Not too long." Drew shrugs.
"Yeah. I miss you, though." Mason adds, pouting at her friend.
"Well why didn't she come?" Her mom cuts in before Este can reply.
"Work, unfortunately." She sighs dramatically. "But I'm free next week, if you'll still want some more company."
"Yes, of course! Come up here any time, honey."
"You heard her." Mason agrees, smiling at her friend.
"Alright I'll see you on Tuesday, then." Este giggles.
Mason passes the phone back to her mom as she says she's looking forward to it, grabbing her backpack to bring to her room.
"I guess I should give you the tour." Mason says to her boyfriend, pausing and looking around the open living room and kitchen space. "Alright that's about it. My room is down here, same with the bathroom, and my parents room." She says, making Drew laugh as she heads toward the small hallway, Drew following close after.
"It's such a cute house." He muses, looking around at the array of artwork on the walls.
"You can say it's small, Babes. It's fine." She giggles quietly as they step into her room, throwing her stuff on her bed under the window.
"No, I meant like, the decor and stuff. It's very cute." Drew insists, smiling at her and then looking around her room, which clearly hasn't been changed since she moved out a few years ago, to live with Este in LA.
"Oh, well, my mom will love the review so please tell her." Mason smiles, sitting down on her bed and laying back dramatically.
"I don't know what I expected your room to look like, but it was almost exactly like this." He chuckles, standing in the door frame and taking note of all the posters on the walls, mainly Taylor Swift, One Direction, some of her favourites. "Have you met any of them yet?"
"I met Taylor once." Mason says, sitting back up and smiling at her big 'Lover' poster. "She was really sweet, she said she wants to do a song together sometime, maybe grab lunch. I have her number. I feel like she just pitied me, though."
"No way, she knows talent when she sees it. Clearly." Drew smiles, pacing into the room and sitting next to her.
"Leave the door open!" Miles calls after them from the living room.
"Dad!" Mason huffs as her cheeks turn red and she stands up, walking to the door and looking down the hall at him. "I'm not sixteen anymore, I'll shut the door if I want!" She laughs, then pretending to dramatically slam it before she stops it and closes it gently.
"Who'd you bring in here when you were sixteen?" Drew laughs quietly, cheeks turning slightly red as well.
"Guess." Mason laughs, sighing and rolling her eyes as she joined him on the bed again.
"I've got a pretty good idea." Drew admits, looking around again and this time noticing all the music awards on one wall next to the closet, smiling a little to himself. "Brady still lives here, doesn't he?"
"Yep. Him and his new 'girlfriend'." Mason says, using a mocking tone to refer to her. "Well, not new anymore I guess. It's been over a year."
"He's an idiot, if she was smart she would have left him by now." Drew chuckles. "I'm lucky he's so stupid, honestly."
"Me too. I wouldn't have found out otherwise." Mason chuckles. "God, it's so embarrassing." She groans and covers her face with her hands. Drew laughs a little with her, reaching out and running his fingers through her hair. She shouldn't be embarrassed. It's funny to laugh about a year down the line, but it's hard to think about what she went through- when the world was watching. He wants to make sure she never goes through anything like that ever again.
"Mason! Honey, mind helping me with dinner?" Her mom calls from the living room and she sighs, sitting up.
"Coming!"
They say you can't choose who you're falling for.
They say you can't control one's feelings.
They say not to waste your time on someone who doesn't worth it.
When I told my friends about her they told me to be careful cause she would shutter my heart like no other.
Told me to be mindful about who I'm dating and to make sure she's the one.
And I was sure she was. Both of us, doomed to roam an eternity all alone with no one in particular by our side.
So I was more than glad when I met her. She was gorgeous. Her smile brighter than any pearl in the deepest parts of the ocean.
Her crimson hair lit a fire in me, I never thought was possible to ever be lit again. The way she does a little dance when she's happy had butterflies go crazy in my stomach and a big smile plastered on my face.
The way she used to pout when I was busy with cleaning the Phantomhive mansion as their second maid, and couldn't give her the attention she was so desperately craving.
I didn't care enough to pay any mind to the warnings of my friends.
Oh how stupid and naïve of me.
 I thought she felt the same.
I thought I found the one for me after centuries and centuries of endless loneliness.
Stupid, stupid little Y/n.
Blinded by love, I ignored all the signs and marched straight to my downfall.
The way she would smile and flirt shamelessly in front of me with him, even though he completely shut her down every single time.
Her beaming smile, shining brighter than any star every time she saw him.
How she would ignore and shut me down completely, every time he was there too.
Her happy dancy dance wasn't directed towards me any longer, but to him. Her sparkling eyes weren't filled with the joy I provided her, but with the mere existence of him.
Her compliments stopped coming my way and changed their direction, heading straight to him only to not get appreciated.
I started thinking, I wasn't good enough for her any longer. I never ever doubted myself in all those 1000+ years of my existence.
But when she came along, I did. I did everything I could to make sure she was smiling.
But now it didn't matter anymore.
She stopped loving me and it was obvious to my oblivious eyes.
I've lost count of how many tears I've cried for her.
I've lost count of how many nights I would spend, waiting for her to come but to never actually show up for days and not because of her work.
After a specific moment, I finally reached my point of no return.
I stopped bothering to talk to her.
I ignored her every time she would try to strike a conversation with me, or simply shut her down with the most pathetic excuses my stupid little mind could come up with.
Our deep conversations turned into random dry words and phrases.
The butterflies she brought to my stomach died along with a big part of me.
My loving gaze turned into a cold and numb scowl.
I couldn't stand her presence around me. It was a constant reminder of what was now lost.
The hours I would spend talking to her about the future we were supposed  to have together feel wasted.
The wild fire she lit into my heart turned into nothing more than the grey ashes of my heart.
I gave her everything I've never given to anyone before only for her to stomp all over it once she got bored or found someone more exciting.
.
.
But I've learnt my lesson
I'm not gonna make the same mistake again.
I don't give a shit about whether or not this makes me cold hearted or a bitch.
I'm not about to let anyone else step all over me like that again.
.
.
.
.
Ciel and the others around the house noticed the sudden change to my attitude.
How I wouldn't bring Grell up at all, during conversations.
How I would act like she's not in the room, even if she was literally right across from me.
How I would flip her off every time she tried to talk to me or just flat out ignore her presence next to me.
Yet nobody said anything.
They thought it was just me being dramatic over a small fight I had with her.
Except for Sebastian of course.
No matter how hard I tried I couldn't hate him.
I tried and tried again.
Reminding myself, he's the reason me and Grell are walking on eggshells.
But I couldn't
Not because I had a thing for his charming nature or his calm and collected demeanor.
But because he did nothing wrong.
It's not his fault Grell fell face first for him.
And I'll never blame Sebastian for it.
.
.
.
.
Currently in Paris and away from Grell is the best opportunity to get her out of my head.
Right here and now where she's nowhere to seen.
Away from the cheery voice, I fell so hard for. Away from those lime colored hues that had me drowning into the unspeakable depths of the human mind.
The air of freedom and challenges blows my h/c hair as my lungs feel with the smell of a variety of foods from the stalls scattered all over the big plaza underneath the Eiffel Tower.
Horses and carriages passing by, people's voices mixed up with laughter, crying and yelling, fill my ears. The sky here seems clearer. Brighter.
Passing by coffee shops and boutiques where rich looking people with their expensive tailored suits and dresses go in out and sometimes even complain about the poor costumer service.
I keep sinking deeper into my thoughts as the seconds tick by and the sight of the alive city of Paris, crosses my eyes.
We came here originally for business and I was going to join them too. But Ciel told me I wouldn't be efficient if I joined them right now.
So he told me to go and take a walk around the city and he'd summon me if things get ugly. I took the offer without a second thought and went on a journey. I went to explore the city all by myself.
Even though I've been alive for 1000+ I've never been on the surface. I was always working in the pits of Hell, literally.
So I was more than excited when Ciel formed and signed a contract with me, the same way he did with Sebastian.
.
.
I've been walking for a good while now. I pass right in front of coffee shop, the fulfilling scent of freshly brewed coffee along with the beautiful aroma coming from the croissants with a chocolate filling.
"Chocolate croissants and a fresh cup of coffee is my favorite type of breakfast."
"You didn't have to do this for me, sweetheart."
"Not now I'm not hungry. Maybe I'll ask Sebastian to have breakfast with me."
Memories of her clouding my brain, as I walk in the shop and tell the cashier  my order.
How could I be so stupid and blind for fuck's sake?
Why didn't I see this coming?
Why did I think it was gonna be different this time? Why did I let myself drown in the hopes of Grell staying faithful to me, the same way I stayed faithful to her?
DAMN IT!!
I'm mentally tormenting myself over something that's been over for a good while now. Even though I was oblivious of it, doesn't mean it didn't happen
Dueling on the past won't do me any good. I gave up a few months ago.
So why does it still hurt so much?
Every woman within a 12 mile radius of Sebastian Fucking Michaellis is bound to fall for his irresistible charms and his god-like beauty.
"Y/n? Is there something the matter between you and Grell?" I hear Sebastian ask from next to me. I flinch since he took me by surprise and continue to pay for my order before heading out the small shop.
"Why do you care?" his smile falters for a second but keeps himself composed like always. I take the croissant out of its little brown paper bag, taking a big bite, letting the most satisfying sensation sink in.
The chocolate is so warm and sweet and the dough is well baked with a hint of butter. My tastebuds are thanking me and are doing a happy little dance.
"So why do you ask?" I return my attention towards the red eyed male who's sitting next to me with his arm resting behind me on the bench.
"Well, considering he's clinging onto me-"
"She. She's clinging onto to you. Grell is a woman" my mind goes blank and I see red the second Sebastian mispronounces her.
No matter what we're going through, I'm never gonna let anyone disrespect her this way.
"My apologies. 'She's' clinging onto me more than usual, I assumed you had a fight and she's just trying to make you jealous." he speaks. His serious tone gives me some kind of comfort like it always does.
"Well you can barely can call us a couple right now. We haven't broken up officially but it's over."  He doesn't respond. Instead I feel his breath fanning my neck.
He cups my cheek gently, looking deep in my eyes. I try to get the composure to shake his hand off me but it seems rather impossible.
His touch as light as a feather, and for the first time after years of knowing him, his eyes are calm. There isn't even a glimpse of anger while he's looking at me.
His hand is bare, soft and somehow delicate skin touching against mine. There is something about the way he's looking at me.
The hand on my cheek snakes its way behind my back pulling me into a tight embrace. My eyes go wide. Never, in those centuries I've known Sebastian, has he ever initiated a hug or any form of a comforting act.
So why now? What changed?
Tears start to spill from the corners of wide e/c eyes. My arms wrap themselves around him, fingers holding the back of his black trench coat as I let my tears fall.
I thought I was done. I thought I couldn't shed anymore tears for her.
They dried out. I couldn't cry anymore for so long. Started thinking I didn't even had in me to cry any longer than I already had.
But turns out I could. I had a few still in me. And bottling them up was eating me up from inside out.
"I'm so very sorry, my dear. You don't deserve this."
"Who are you and where is Sebastian?" he chuckles lightly. His voice is so deep and comforting like a breath of fresh air in the middle of a valley, filled with all sorts of flowers.
His cologne fills my nostrils, just as I bury my face deeper in the crook of his neck, muffling my sobs that start to let down.
"I'm tired Sebastian. I never thought there would be someone to exhaust me mentally so much yet there she is. Back home working as a reaper."
"Shhh, everything is going to be just fine, my love."
The pet name catches me off guard but I don't dare to comment on it. I just let it sink in my brain.
"Have you....ever felt the same way? Like you gave everything you were and had to someone only to have all that returned to you into a billion pieces?"
He doesn't answer. Instead he's just holding me tightly in his arms. My sobs turn into smaller breaths, reaping the back of my throat.
Sebastian's bare hands slowly stroke my hair and the small of my back.
"I don't want to go back. I wanna stay here."
"I wish I could say you can. But-"
"I can't because of my contract with Ciel. I know."
"Would you like to go for a walk with me?"
I nod my head in response as he slowly and gently he lets go of me and looks deep in my eyes for a second or two.
He takes his coat off and puts it over my shoulders. It smells just like him.
It feels kinda nice.
"Hey, Sebastian?"
"Hmm?" He hums. He's tall skinny body facing my way.
"The pet names. Don't call me any of them. I'm not like all the other girls you're flirting or being intimate with. I'm not interested in any of it." he says nothing. Instead he gives me a closed eye smile and walks straight forward again.
What is this feeling deep in me?
Is he using his magic to seduce me?
Is it one of his stupid tricks, to get in my panties?
It doesn't matter.
I can't and won't fall for any of them.
I swear it.
Bye, Bye, Baby
It feels like you're becoming part of my past...
─── ❖ ── ✦ ── ❖ ───
He should've known better. He should've been better. The Marauder had never before been this quiet, never before only had only three people in it. Hunter sat in his chair, facing away from Tech's chair, he hated seeing Echo in it. Hunter wiped his eyes, he remembered how often he used to cry, he slipped so easily into his tears. His quiet sobs came back like a bad habit. His head hung low, he undid his bandana and he cried.
Echo dared not to cry, he wouldn't stop and he needed to be put together for Hunter. He didn't cry because Hunter was and he didn't want Hunter to pull himself together, he wanted to let Hunter feel all he needed to. Wrecker stood on the other side of the door, unable to come in. He wanted to scream and break something. He wanted to-
Wrecker froze as he saw Hunter walk down Havoc towards Omega's room. He climbed the steps and sat down, grabbing Omega's pillow. Hunter let out a cry, "I'm sorry," hugging the pillow, "I'm sorry." Hunter missed her, he failed her and now he had to miss her. He'd missed up so much lately. This morning they were only missing one, now they missing three. Hunter hugged her pillow tighter, "I miss you so much..." He looked at her room and he instantly wanted better for her, he wanted Pabu for her. He wanted starlight and kyber for his little girl.
"I can't fight anymore, Wrecker," He spoke slow. Wrecker's head shot up, "I can't do this anymore-" Hunter didn't wipe his eyes, Wrecker was blurry, but it was for the best he couldn't see Wrecker's defeated face, "I don't- I just want my family-" He let out a whimper and Wrecker rushed to his brother and scooped him up in a hug.
"I know," Wrecker sighed, rubbing Hunter's back. As a leader, he'd failed. He was never supposed to lose Omega, if he had been a better leader, if he had been a better father-
"How are we going to find her? Wrecker, how are we going to find her? I have no idea what to do-" He sobbed, "I can't do this, I don't have any ideas, I don't, I don't-" Hunter shook his head and let out a violent sob, one that, on instinct, made Wrecker hug Hunter tighter. A violent sob that beckoned Echo to join their hug.
Echo wasn't good at a whole lot, but he thought he was a pretty good brother. He thought he handled losing brothers pretty well. But Hunter, Hunter had never lost anyone in his family, ever. They were so lucky like that. Echo hugged his brothers tightly, losing a brother for the first time was the hardest, and it only got harder. So Echo did what he knew he could do, hold his brother and never let go.
Hunter missed his little girl, "She must be so scared and she's gonna try her best to escape and they're gonna hurt her-" Hunter broke from the hug, "They're gonna hurt her and I'm not gonna be there to protect her!" He yelled, jumping to his feet. He felt so useless! "They're gonna hurt her and I can't do anything!" He smacked the side of his head as he tried to think. "They're gonna make her cry-" He whimpered
Wrecker let out a sniffle, unable to speak. He was so good with Tech and Crosshair, but he'd always failed Hunter. And he'd continue to. "What are we going to do?!" Hunter went to the computer, like a fool he wanted a miracle. He had to keep fighting, he had to get to Omega, he had to protect her, he had to be there for her. He had to. There was nothing else Hunter wanted more in his life than to be Omega's father, and he was failing. He was failing at the one choice he chose to make.
Hunter fell to his knees, he hadn't felt this useless in years. He hadn't been this lost in years. He hadn't failed this badly in years. He was always better than this, smarter, more put together. He failed Tech, he failed Crosshair, he failed Omega and he failed himself. Hunter held his head and tried desperately to be better. But he failed. Doubt set in and Hunter realized all he'd ever do is fail and that's all he was meant to do. He had already been a great brother, that moment passed.
He had tried so hard to create a life for his family. Late at night, talking finances with Tech, schooling for Omega with Echo, possible homes with Wrecker. Crosshair rescue plans with Omega. He had talked to everyone about creating a new life for all of them, and now, no one was here.
He stared at the floor and the puddle of tears he'd created. He could feel Echo and Wrecker watching him and he wanted to pull himself together, but his homeland was gone, he had nothing to defend. He had no family to protect. He lost his little brothers and Omega. He lost Omega- "No-" He whispered, "Please, no.." He needed her to be okay. He needed her to come back home. Tech was never coming home, Crosshair would never forgive him, Wrecker and Echo would never see him more than the mess he was right now. They'd lost everything. Today, they lost. Never before had he ever had to say goodbye, but recently,
He never had the chance to
Some thoughts on Yamagi in the epilogue of Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans.
Tumblr media
Yamagi didn't get much in terms of the epilogue: a single still shot flashing on screen unceremoniously and being mentioned in a conversation. We get no insight into his feelings, but we can gather a few hints from said image.
I was unable to 100% confirm that Yamagi's new look was designed by the series' original character designer Itou Yu. From her comments I only got that she loved it and thought it's impressive how much of Yamagi's feelings were conveyed in a single still image. Which inspired me to try and look a bit deeper into it. It's possible that the instructions came directly from director Nagai, who, according to the series' composer, was pretty hands-on with Shino and Yamagi's relationship (including inviting an animator whose speciality is hands animation for the hand hold in ep 7, or personally overlooking all of their scenes). If there was supposed to be a deeper meaning to the epilogue Yamagi then Nagai would be the one behind it, because shinoyama is /his/ thing.
I know my shinoyama by heart, throughout the entire series Yamagi's left eye is ONLY ever visible in his scenes with Shino, or in scenes pertaining to Shino in some fashion (ex. Yamagi reacting to Shino brawling with Eugene in OP #1*). It was a conscious decision to show Yamagi from his left side, where *only* his left eye is visible, as he's looking at the blue skye above him. Just as he did right after the escape from the tunnel. He was also thinking of Shino in that scene, as suggested by the closeup on the bandages in his hand. I think that the suggestion is here as well by focusing on the eye which only Shino ever got to see clearly. The angle of his head, looking up and slightly back (direct symbolism of looking in the past), all of it just speaks to me that Yamagi's love for Shino is still present, he’s still thinking about him in this very moment. In my own personal delusion I like to think Yamagi showing his entire face to the world is also how he's trying to communicate with Shino: "Wherever you are, if you're watching over me like you promised (the ryusei letter), even for a briefest moment, you can see all of me clearly."
Next are Yamagi's pink overalls. I do not believe this is a standard issue uniform available to anyone else. I think this uniform was custom made for Yamagi exclusively. For a while I even held a belief he dyed the material himself. The color is an obvious yet subtle callback to Shino's signature magenta color scheme. There's more to it though, because according supplemental materials Shino doesn't just put that color on anything, but the objects he considers closest to him, his own. Why did Yamagi then decide to put the color on *himself* and not, say, his tools? To me personally Yamagi draping himself in the color Shino used to mark his closest belongings can only speak of his devotion, almost as if he wanted to communicate that he wants to belong to Shino, that he belongs with him. And why wouldn't he still want to be with Shino? Yamagi loved Shino more than life itself, if his words to Eugene in episode 46 are to be taken at their value. That kind of love wouldn't just go away just because the other person weren't there anymore (hell, IBO ended seven years ago and /I'm/ not over Shino.)
These are my general thoughts. The presence of Shino in Yamagi's heart is mant to be seen and felt, and his confident posture signifies that he carries that love with pride. The ryuseigo insignia speaks for itself, if there's any doubt left. It couldn't have been anyone else but Yamagi to suggest it to Yukinojo.
I wish sunrise would release an ova or a cd drama removing any and all plausible deniability left from Shino's intentions regarding Yamagi in episode 45. It's been years, and if we have to continue living in a world without Shino, it would be more bearable if we at least had that.
*This trend continued into the special OP for the abridged version of the series, which aired on TV in '22, wherein Shino dramatically pulls Yamagi close as the latter started to float away just as the boys were about to eat lunch together atop the Ryuseigo II:
No more tears
feeling salty so I wanted to do a darker LinkxReader
Notes: Linkxreader, angst, jealous y/n, coarse language, lead up to tears of the kingdom
It had been some time since the two of you had been together, Link had always reassured you that he loved you so much and hated being away from you as much as he had been. Official duties with guarding the princess despite the kingdom being more of a relic than anything functional at this point in time, "I'll be back with you as soon as I can Y/N..." He said each time yet the absences grew longer and longer.
You never doubted that he loved you but this time you felt a pit in your stomach that didn't budge so you left to search out why he'd been away for this absurdly long time. It didn't take you long to find where he was given the way gossip floats around, wherever the princess was, he would be there. The trail of rumors and gossip led you to Hateno and the pit in your stomach began to burn as you approached his house figuring you'd spend the night there and continue searching by morning.
Unlocking the door tiredly you look up and you see that someone else was already there, "Who are you why are you here!?" The girl said and you realised it was the princess. She dropped her books in fear when you opened the door yet you were just as shocked as her, you wanted to speak but couldn't find any words instead you stood there in pain. Link came to the door to see what the fuss was, "Y/N... is everything.." You cut him off, "I trusted you.. I loved you and this is what you've been doing?" You said coldly, "Guarding the princess you mean?" He said in confusion. "Guarding? That's a funny way to put it" You say walking off. "Wait Y/N it's not like that" He tried reasoning with you but you snapped back, you never once raised your voice at him but this time you did, making sure the whole village heard. "You cheated on me with her... I wasn't good enough for you was I? How does it feel to fuck her!?" You screamed before walking away throwing the key at him. "Wait Y/N it isn't like that please listen to me" Zelda said coming out to see you. You ignored her and kept moving
Months went by yet the pain was still as raw as ever, taking refuge in Goron City as you never wanted to see another person ever again but you knew it was a matter of time before he found you. "Y/N.. Hey.." Link tried to speak to you but you ignored him. "I am so sorry for this misunderstanding Y/N, I needed somewhere to live as repairs are underway" Another voice said. it was Zelda, "I just thought we had something special..." You say quietly on the verge of crying yet the heat prevented any tears from forming. "You do.. I'm sorry.." She said offering some comfort but you didn't feel anymore. "You brought your new girl here to speak to me... How dare you" You say before he leaned down to kiss your forehead. You cried in his arms at the show of affection that was so special to you. "I wouldn't do this to anyone but you" He said picking you up to take you down to somewhere more habitable, you weighed nothing in his arms as the grief took its toll on your body.
He decided to spend months with you, slowly regaining your trust and helping you recover from the grief. You loved him to the point of it being painful yet you worried that you were too much for him and that's why he left., he'd reassure you that you weren't being too much and it was purely being duty bound that destroyed your heart.
Tumblr media
Three days, you didn't come out of your room in three days, he was dying inside more and more every second he didn't hear from you, you ignored his calls, his texts, the knocks on your door late at night, he was so scared that he'd lose you forever, he already had lost your trust and love as well probably but he would never forgive himself if you were to do something awful. But then you allowed Peter to see you and not him, that hurt him alot but he had no right to even argue with you anymore.
That night you shoved him out of your room, he tried to apologize, to talk to you, to get through you, to get that sweet innocent girl out of you that he mercilessly killed with his own hands but you didn't listen to him. And he didn't blame you either, you two had your whole life to share secrets with each other but he allowed the moment of insecurities to ruin his y/n, he broke you all over again and he didn't even feel worthy of you anymore. He didn't deserve to even be in your presence.
You came to talk to him that night and he kept thinking about that particular moment when you stood outside his door with a hopeful look in your eyes, the memory was so vivid, your face was damped because you have been crying he could tell, you wanted to fix things and that's what he wanted too but he fucked up. If Katlyn wasn't there you would have gotten in maybe and cleared his confusion but he had hurt you so deeply by choosing to fill his head with the doubts planted by someone he knew was out to harm you in every way.
He told you that you would fall for anyone, that you were just a child, he crushed and stomped on the safe haven he had built for you and only he was to blame for all of this, not Katlyn not anyone else, she was just doing what she has always done to you. He allowed her to mess with him.
On the 4th day you finally stepped out and he didn't see his y/n, the girl that clung to him that day so he wouldn't leave her, he couldn't see the girl that dressed up for him and was excited to see him all day. He had lost you and the thought was breaking him every second, but a part of him was relieved to see you, even if you ignored his existence he was happy to see you alive and well.
He wanted to apologize, he wanted to do so much more than just apologize but he didn't know how. He listened to the audio of you confessing your love for him that night with Peter, why didn't he just listen to this? He wondered and then he realized that if he needed constant proof of your love for him from you, then did he really deserve to be with you? You poured your heart out and he forgot all about that as soon as things got a little messy.
He didn't deserve you. He didn't deserve such a pure love.
Steve's parents flew in and that's when he realized how close the wedding was, just two weeks, he just had two weeks to earn your forgiveness and take you away with him but you didn't even want to be saved anymore, he knew you had given up and there was no one else to blame but him.
At the dinner table you heard the taunts of Steve's family but you continued to eat, you didn't respond or react, it was like seeing a lifeless person, you seemed to be on an autopilot mode, whenever your eyes met with him you looked away.  He was just a dream for you now and dreams aren't real.
You didn't just break his heart that night, you killed yourself but you liked to believe that you saved his life, he'd continue to doubt you and none of you deserved that, you also knew that him wanting to mess with Katlyn would backfire someday and you didn't want him to lose his life for you. He was the only person keeping you afloat but you knew you had to let go of his hands and drown yourself to save him. You knew you shouldn't have gotten attached to the idea of living a life away with him, it wasn't possible, it was just a dream and you had been woken up by a loud blaring alarm.
You saw your future clearly as soon as Steve's parents arrived, you knew where this marriage would take you but you promised him that you'd live that you'd never harm yourself again and you wanted to live up to that. You didn't want to give up, you just waited for your inevitable death by the hands of your in-laws.
You avoided his existence for the next three days, you didn't even go anywhere unless you absolutely had to, you couldn't be around him, especially not alone with him because he made you weak, those eyes and the way he looked at you made you want to crawl into his lap and kiss him deeply, tell him that all of this was stupid and that you wanted to forgive him but did he even want that? Maybe he was relieved to be ridden of such a responsibility. You didn't know, he did try to talk but you ignored him so how were you supposed to know?
It was your birthday the next day so you went dress shopping for the party you knew was being held for appearance purposes, they didn't care about your birthday. The wedding was ten days later and you were living in constant fear and anxiety.
You haven't closed the door of your side properly so he leaned over you and did it for you, his cologne hit your senses and it almost made the facade drop. Kiss him, Love him. Your thoughts screamed, his eyes met with yours and they filled with tears, both of yours.
 The silence layed heavily amongst you two. Nothing to say, no kissing each other, no hugging as you'd sit on his lap, nothing.
"Y/n.."
"Don't loki, just don't okay? It took me so long to be able to pull myself up and I can't get dragged into your warmth and safety again only for you to discard me every time you have a doubt about me, besides it's for the best, at least you'd be alive" That's not what you wanted to say to him but the hurt from that day was still fresh in your mind. He didn't believe you.
He nodded as you said that, that's when a realization hit him, you didn't push him away just because of what he had done but also because of what happened to Bruce, you were afraid he'd suffer the same fate. The talk that night must have brought the repressed emotions you had regarding his death to the surface.
Next day he sent you a happy birthday text but you didn't respond, he knew there was no point calling you as you won't pick it up.
 At the party he was going to try, one more time, because he had to, he had to fix this, he can't go on with his life and watch you sign over your own death sentence a few dats later. He had to get through you not because he felt sorry for you or because of the guilt he was afraid he'd carry all his life but because he loved you. He truly insanely solely loved you with all his heart, even though he wasn't able to show it to you when you needed him, he knew what he felt for you was once in a lifetime kind of love, and giving up on that love would destroy him.
He wanted you safe, happy, loved and he wanted to give it all to you like he promised to. He went out that day and got you a gift, he was back soon and the party was in full force at the mansion. Luckily Steve had to be away on a business trip and both of you were relieved by the knowledge, your problems didn't lessen though, you had to deal with his mom dad and sister, his other parents Rocky and Suzzanah , they were enough to keep you stressed throughout the party, you didn't even want to drink anymore.
You didn't know why or how because the old you would run to alcohol and drugs to avoid your feelings, but the new you just wanted to stay in your bathtub and cry. You looked at Loki and he had his eyes on you, your body craved to be close to him, it itched to be touched by him, to be held in those arms and to be caressed softly, he was so pretty to look at and his heart was so pretty too but for how long? You'd sleep in his arms and wake up alone. He'd lose his faith in you as soon as something bothers him about you, you didn't think you were strong enough to deal with it again.
He loved you sure but not in those moments of weakness, or that's what you convinced yourself with because it was easier to accept.
You had a green full length bodycon dress on, it had a slit for the one thigh and the straps were thin, you picked the color on purpose, you weren't trying to hurt him but the color brought you comfort and you were doing everything that brought you even a miniscule amount of comfort. Peter tried to keep you occupied but it wasn't him you needed, you only needed one man and even though he thought he was just another Bodyguard you fell for, you knew how deep his love was running through your veins.
Everyone got so drunk and you just watched and judged them, they looked ridiculous and acted like a fool, that's how you must have acted too when you ran on alcohol. When the attention was shifted from you, you got up and made your way upstairs, the thought of relaxing in your bathtub felt really good.
10 days and then you'll be imprisoned like your mother was but at least she didn't know things would get so bad, she loved your dad and took her chance, fortune and fame  changed him. She was definitely stronger than you, she'd never get into a marriage like this.
Loki knew he should have allowed you to be at peace, but his legs moved towards you involuntarily, he looked around to be assured that nobody had their attention on him and they didn't, he was a nobody here. Katlyn tried to make out with him but he stopped her and made her sit down so she found someone else to busy herself with. He couldn't have been more thankful for that. He cut a piece of cake and grabbed a plate, you didn't even eat your own birthday cake and the thought hurt him.
You turned around and found him staring back at you in the lobby upstairs, why was he doing this? You knew you were weak and you'd melt as soon as he touched you.
So you turned left and got inside the first room you found, but then it was his room and you smacked yourself as you realized that.
"I wasn't looking" you told him as you bumped into him on the door, he closed the door so you took a step away from him.
"Don't be afraid sweetheart, I won't hurt you" his eyes teared up and yours did too. You knew he'd never hurt you like that. He could never, he was too kind for that.
"I know..I didn't mean..I just want to go to my room"
"Just give me a minute please? That's all I want" his voice was soft and pleading. He really did want you to listen to him one last time.
"For what?"
"For forgiveness, I want to apologize please just listen to me"
"You didn't listen to me, you listened to her" he placed the plate down on the dresser and walked towards you
"I did.. you are right"
"I know" you crossed your arms and he walked even closer, you didn't know what you thought he'd do. You expected him to cup your cheeks to kiss your forehead or hug you tightly, kiss you even but he did none of those things, he grabbed your hand in his instead and went down on his knees then his arms wrapped around your waist, he started sobbing then and he sobbed some more as he clutched onto you. He cried like a child.
You couldn't help but caress his head as you tried to calm him down, you hated seeing him this way, it was as if the dynamic of your relationship had shifted in those moments.
"Lokii please get up please, we can talk okay? I just..just get up and stop crying" now you understood how he felt when you clung to him like this, it was heartbreaking, seeing the person you loved so utterly shattered in your embrace.
"I'm sorry darling, I'm so sorry, I know I have betrayed your trust and the safety you felt with me but I never wanted to hurt you like that, even though I should have known better, I truly should have after everything I know about you and your past, I should have thought this through before I put the blame on you but the truth is I'm insecure, I'm so insecure because I don't get picked, I am not used to being picked, not for long term anyways, not for forever. I'm a temporary distraction, a solace in the time of need and my mind keeps jumping back and forth between wanting to believe that I am chosen and loved and then just being being another option for you"
You wiped his tears even though your own tears didn't stop coming in. He looked at you and you could see the pain, the guilt he had in him for hurting you.
"You know you never were just another option for me lo..gosh I have loved you with all my heart and I don't know how to make you believe me" you sighed, you never wanted to make him feel this way and you weren't good with words either, you would choose him over every treasure in this world but then you didn't have to.
"You don't, you don't and you shouldn't do that, it's not your fault or your burden to bear, you have enough of your own sweetheart. It's mine and when you chose me there was a part of me that kept wondering Why would a girl like her be with me? and when Katlyn told me about Bruce, my brain screamed at me 'That's it, that's why she loves you, of course she have a reason why she loves you, you buffoon'  I had a reason to doubt the love you gave me and my messed up mind made the full use of it"
You tried to get on your knees to get to his level but the dress was too tight, he watched you struggle for a moment and the amusement of the situation made him snap out of the self loathing for a bit. He loves you so much and he just needed one more chance, one last chance to prove to you that he wasn't just all words, he allowed his fucked up issues to come in between you two that day but he had learnt a crucial lesson when he lost you.
 "It's okay..you don't have to get down on your knees baby, not today anyways" you chuckled between your tears but you still remembered how you felt that night.
"You believed her over me" your lips trembled as you spoke and he shook his head.
"I know it feels that way and I don't want to lie to you, a part of me jumped at the notion of you being with me just because I'm a bodyguard and you saw another man in me, a man that you possibly cared for and loved, I feared that I was a mere substitute and I went about it in the worst possible way, I should have just asked you instead of assuming, I didn't believe her over you..I believed what my mind told me"
You wiped your tears, he should have asked you because if he did you would have told him the truth. There were many things you wanted to share with him that day.
"What I said about not wanting to wake up all happy and then get my heart broken still is true, I just can't..do that loki, I had such a good feeling that morning and it was all wrong, even my own instincts betrayed me, for a moment I forgot that my happiness won't last for long" he nodded as you said that, he never wanted to put you through that situation again but he fucked up greatly and there was nothing he could have done but apologise and stick to his promise the next time. That only if you'd ever want to be with him again.
"That's not true but I don't blame you for feeling that way, all I need is for you to give me one more chance, a last chance. I can't lose you darling, I can't lose you today, tomorrow or forever, you're mine and I'm yours and I'm going to get us so far away from here" you sniffled as you heard that, you dreamt of that life with him but it felt like a dream now. He placed his head down on your torso and his next few words nearly made your heart leap out of your chest,
"Please don't give up on me, please don't marry him, I'm on my knees begging you to pick me this time, I don't care if I'm just an option, I'll be your option if that's what it takes for you to forgive me, I want you to pick me so pick me please..pick me over everyone else" his voice came out in shattered little sobs.
Your heart broke all over again because you knew how low he must have felt to be asking you to consider him as an alternate, an option. He had fucked up that day, this one time he did but he has also been there for you when you needed him, you couldn't just ignore everything he had done for you and wants to do for you.
Hell it was only because of him you even had the courage to move past that day, for a moment you thought you won't survive, that you won't make it but even when he was the reason you were hurting ,he was also the reason you were able to get out of that room, alive and well. He was the reason you ate and took care of yourself, he was the reason you felt strong enough to let him go even though you knew it would kill you. He had made you stronger with his constant assurance and you didn't want to leave him when he needed it in return.
There were so many things you could have said to him but you started with the worst possible thing
"I am not going to pick you Loki"
