Gul Panag's 'Good Bad Girl' to be out on October 14
Tumblr media
Sep 28, 2022 14:52 IST Mumbai (Maharashtra) , September 28 (AF): Gul Panag will be seen sharing screen space with Samridhi Dewan, Sheeba Chadha, and Vaibhav Raj Gupta in 'Good Bad Girl', a new series which will be out on October 14. Set against the backdrop of Mumbai, The Sony LIV show 'Good Bad Girl' revolves around Maya Ahuja, a lively, bubbly, and quirky girl who has three different stories to tell. The series reflects on how people, rules, cultures, societies, and laws impact the mind of a 7-year-old to turn her into a crafty and manipulative person by the time she is 28.Talking about the show, Gul said, "I was quite intrigued by the script and the show's concept. The story comes with a lot of spunk yet is an everyday story that the audiences will relate to and have a good laugh. The characters are all quirky and freshly written, with various layers to them which add the right spice to the story. I'm playing a lawyer for the first time, and my character Zaina Mistry is the one who balances out the eccentricities of the other characters in the show. She is the voice of reason, much like how I am in real life as well. The show brings a bunch of talented artists under a roof which has made the journey of filming incredible. I am looking forward to its launch on Sony LIV and the audience's reaction to it." 'Good Bad Girl' is helmed by Abhishek Sengupta and produced by Vikas Bahl and Anurag Shrivastava. Marvel’s Protectors of Wakanda reveals the origins of the Black Panther’s Dora Milaje
Marvel’s Protectors of Wakanda reveals the origins of the Black Panther’s Dora Milaje
Sheeba Maya / Marvel In both Marvel’s comic books and its movies, the Dora Milaje — an elite outfit of highly trained warrior women — are so much more than just the Black Panther’s bodyguards. They are Wakanda’s spies, diplomats, and a testament to the secretive country’s belief in tradition — tradition that Marvel’s adding new dimension to with Protectors of Wakanda: A History and Training…

The Moon of Formation
This New Moon in Virgo brings an opportunity for us to reorder the way that we form our selves and the lives that we build around us. Virgo Sun/Moon brings with it the energy of productivity, cleanliness, routine activity and service in the realms of the inner(moon) and outer(sun) worlds.
SUN/MOON square SATURN
With a Square from Saturn it is quite possible that this New Moon will have some challenges involving your day to day living schedule. This may be bothersome initially but it is important to remember that Saturn rules form, time and structure. With Saturn in Sagittarius challenging the New Moon in Virgo we may find that the steps that we plan to take to get us where we’d like to go are disrupted as a means to reroute us. We may also feel particularly impatient about our own progression. Use the boundaries Saturn places on you to focus on what is available to you. Virgo is acsutom to viewing the details while forgetting to take a step back to view the entire picture. Think of the disruptions to your day as Sag Saturn opening up an opportunity for you to step back and reevaluate your position.
SUN/MOON inconjunct URANUS
Now, this New Moon is also in awkward aspect to Uranus. There could be a sudden change in the way that you feel/behave or in your enviroment that you may consider “out of character” or “unusual” for yourself or others. It will likely be sudden/agressive and difficult to understand but know that when Uranus is involved that there is a radical level of truth also intertwined in this shift. What are you resisting, what is your truth? Uranus(Aries) and Saturn(Sag.) are presently aiding one another in disrupting the inauthentic patterns that we express in our day to day living so that we might live day to day expressing/building our truth and thus creating our Legacy(saturn), one authentic step at a time(Virgo).
THE WAVE TO CATCH
Ultimately, this Lunar cycle calls us to look to where we need purification. To where we need to be renewed in order to paint our days in alignment with the ideal mural of our lives. Saturn rules Legacy and inspires what we want to leave behind and it will be checking/destroying all movements, day to day, out of alignment with our “purpose/destiny”. So be honest with yourself, what do you want? How do you get it? Are you willing to pay the price, to sacrifice some of the details in your day, to change by choice? Or will you find yourself bound by the Rings of Saturnian Law? We do always have a choice, Saturn told me it won’t always be an easy one.

Reflection #2 Red Chases Blue
For the first project, I've been tasked to generate ideas from "Red vs Blue" and was given two weeks time to complete it as this was my first assignment and it had a two-week deadline I thought of creating something that is not crazy complicated and meets the deadline, so I went with a robot because I always wanted to do a robot after watching the movie Wall-E. First, I had to create the design of a robot that is stylized and looked cute. These are the bunch of robot ideas that I drew trying to figure out which design works best for the project.
Tumblr media
and once I was happy with the design I made a very rough sketch in a free drawing software called 'firealpaca'.
Tumblr media
Here are some of the reference images I used for inspiration.
Tumblr media
Character Design:
I decided to make this project in 3d, started modeling the robot, first in Maya, changed some of the design of the character because it was not making sense in 3d. I used substance painter for baking and texturing.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Concept:
Now for the concept of Red chases Blue, I thought of color blue as mother nature fighting back against human intervention which is represented as the color red. So, I went for a post apocalyptic setting where the world got destroyed by nuclear weapons, the only thing that remains are mutated animals and robots. I started with a rough concept art of what the final product was going to be like.
Tumblr media
3D Modeling:
Once I had the concept art ready, I started to work with the 3d model in Maya in low poly as I wanted to render this in a game engine too in the future but right now as I do not have enough time to learn a new software, I stuck with Arnold renderer, It's been long since I used that render engine (I was working with Redshift as I thought it was less taxing on my old system) some tutorials came in handy like.
after blocking the model, it looked like this.
Tumblr media
Now for the butterfly design, I did not use any reference image and made everything from scratch as it's just a silhouette and a self illuminating object.
Tumblr media
Lighting:
I used emission light for the butterfly and the radiation liquid set to maximum and for the moon light I used aistandard, I went with a two point lighting system.
Tumblr media
and the result was a visual clutter with so many things happening and it was very unpleasant for the eyes.
Tumblr media
I thought depth of field effect may solve the problem, this quick youtube tutorial helped me to figure out the solution.
‌after adding Depth of field this is the result.

I am horrified and disgusted to have to share this, but EVERY avenue has been attempted by the most experienced people in the community since mid last year, to no effect. In a last-ditch effort, this situation has now been made public in hopes of preventing people from supporting this breeder by purchasing puppies (of which she has 3 litters planned for this year). PLEASE do not message/harass this person, as I said the best of the WDC have been trying to no success. I am sharing George Stapleton & Sara Movahedi’s experiences here.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
George: “This post is about a dire situation for Wolfdogs in Cherokee County Texas, and may be one of the hardest things I have ever had to do…
Let me tell you what we experienced….nothing could have prepared me for what I saw and felt at Lynn Savage’s place. For years I had heard the stories, going back to the mid 90’s about how bad it was out there. I never took much stock in it and assumed others would deal with whatever was going on out there if there were a need. I mean how bad could it be? Little did I know.
I was approached by some folks in July of last year and they wanted my help placing Lynn’s animals. It was never going to be that simple and it still is by no means, that simple. They sent me pics and told me their experiences and I said I would help and even tried to get out there but could not at the time. Fast forward to the end of August and I was getting ready to go to the Pawty at FMF and I get a call. Jimmy Mantel has become a very good friend of mine and this is what has happened to us, others were involved initially, and they can say who they are if they want. Jimmy calls me and says, Lynn has had a stroke and now the need to place her animals is urgent. The reason the animals needed placement goes way beyond Lynn having a stroke, the neglect and abuse I saw was systemic and comes from years of those behaviors. Enclosures knee deep with bones and feces as well as some puppy skeletons, containments that are hardly standing, water green with weeks of algae, canines with so many fleas and ticks on them that one died. Dead canines in trash cans, and canines that died years ago in no longer working freezers. (Note from me: in addition, a dead canine’s decomposing body was used to block a breach in containment to prevent his mate from escaping) Pretty much the worst situation that an animal could have to endure.
(pictured below, the remains of 3 dogs who were put into a freezer when they died)
Tumblr media
Some of this may have to do with Lynn’s choice of how to live, she is a hoarder, and, in my opinion, that is her choice. I saw everything that first trip and spent the better part of the 1st day feeding and cleaning water buckets and securing canines enclosures. I also did a physical assessment of each animal for rescue. At the time I had no idea where Jimmy and I were going to place them. Lynn had given Jimmy verbal permission to place the animals, she just had a stroke and knew it needed to happen.
From the moment that Lynn went into the hospital, Jimmy drove 4 to 5 hours 3 times a week to feed and water Lynn’s animals. Those animals never ate so good and certainly by the end of 8 weeks of care he gave they did not look emaciated anymore. Before then we had the 2nd trip planned, and we were bringing out the folks from Wolf Connection in California and St. Francis Wolf Sanctuary in Texas to do their own assessments and help plan the rescue. The folks from those orgs spent a lot of time with us there and in the end agreed to take all the Wolfdogs. Jimmy and I had done it!! We found a place for all of them, USDA licensed facilities to boot, and they agreed to not make a shitshow in the press about it. Do you have any idea how hard that is?
And then, Lynn said we could not save them, something happened to her at the hospital and only Lynn can tell you what, then she was released back into living in her dog kennel. So that stopped us in our tracks….for the next couple of months we tried offering Lynn money, we begged and pleaded, we went to the USDA and the County Attorney and Deputy Sheriffs and no one could make Lynn give her animals up or take them. It is now puppy season and she has 3 breeding pairs and intends to sell them.
Here is the deal; that is not going to happen. I may not be able to save Lynn’s animals from the horrid place they are in, but I can damn well make sure everyone knows and does not buy from her. You want the proof, here are some pics. What do Jimmy and I want; we want you all to help Lynn understand the danger she is putting Wolfdogs, herself and her local community in; and to let us place her animals before something bad happens to her or the animals. Or you can find places for them, or you all can chip in and fix her enclosures and provide her an animal caretaker because even before the stroke she could not take care of her animals properly.
For you old timers, it is time for this to end. For the new breed, please learn from our mistakes. We need to make sure that nothing like this ever happens again. You may ask who am I to pass judgement on Lynn Savage like this, all I can say is I am not the only one person that knows the truth. And I would never act on my own, not like this, not for something so serious. I have also been there and seen all of it, and I mean all of it as well as some others. I am worried about the Wolfdogs, how is she feeding them, does she change the water or just throw bleach in, what about the fact she cannot even get in the enclosures, what happens when puppies are born will they drown in the rain, how many Wolfdogs must die, what is it going to take for Lynn Savage to do the right thing?
Let these names burn into your brain as they have mine….Nootka and Sheeba, Ripley and Smokey, Ranger and Walks, and a very old girl with a broken leg or shoulder since at least August; Enya. I am haunted day and night by what I saw there, and it hurts my soul that Lynn will not see the truth and let me help. No animal should have to live like that and I am tired of knowing about it and being unable to save them….please help us, please help Jimmy and I save these animals.”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sara Movahedi: “When this situation first came to my attention, Lynn agreed to let me find homes for some of the animals, and said she would let me take two pups she had left from an unplanned Smokey/Ripley litter to bring to our sanctuary here in Florida. I contacted some folks in Texas with knowledge of the situation to assist with the lows and dogs she had on property and had agreed to give up, since it made no sense for me to head up a rescue of that magnitude from several states away. None of these animals had ever seen a vet, none had been vaccinated, none had been altered. At some point in the first few days of discussion, Lynn changed her mind about letting us take the two babies, and said she would only allow one to leave... the little female. She wanted to keep the male (for breeding when he would be of age I’m assuming) and despite my pleas to keep them together and let us take them both, she refused. In the end, we were only able to save the little girl, but that one little life was still one less that had to endure those conditions. About Maya... Lynn didn’t pull them, and she wasn’t touched or handled until she was 4 weeks of age. After suffering some kind of accident involving the fence, Lynn took her and her brother out and placed them in a round pen (similar to a puppy play pen) with a GP pup she had acquired at some point. Maya and her brother were never bottle fed, instead, they went right from their mother to canned Pedigree at 4 weeks of age. As a result..... Maya was a tiny little ball of paralyzed fur. She literally wouldn’t move from the back of the crate during transport, and remained shut down during the days she was fostered by someone in Tx for us. I will let the transporter and the foster come forward if they wish, I won’t name them without their blessing. Maya was completely broken, and it was unlike anything I had ever seen in a 6-7 week old baby. For weeks, she remained isolated and distant from the other pups at the sanctuary. Her fear and insecurity about the world around her prevented her from playing, from interacting with our staff, or really doing anything a normal, healthy puppy that age would do. We were fortunate to find a social hc pup almost the same exact age as her, and brought him to the sanctuary in hopes of bringing her out of her shell a bit... but to illustrate how damaged and broken this baby was, her insecurities and fears instead made her social buddy become shy and slightly skittish just from being around her all the time... But with time, she has slowly started to play, and interact with other pups her age, but the damage is unmistakable when you see her and watch her with other animals. Her first few weeks at Lynn’s undeniably scarred her for life and that is something that she will always live with... my only regret is not being able to keep her and her brother together, and not being able to get the other animals out when we got her.”

Sheeba Maya: Art with Magical Realism
Sheeba Maya, the artist who has creativity filled within her. Her process of creating art involves getting inspired, developing and creating iridescent artworks that showcase profound stories! The wunderkind individual has achieved a name in the industry and uses her platform to stand against racism. Sheeba also wishes to establish herself as public speaker and lecturer in the near future.
Tumblr media
A prominent artist of the Afrofuturism movement specializing in portraiture, fantasy art, and realism, Sheeba Maya has been working as a freelance illustrator, fine artist, graphic designer, curator, and educator in New York, since 2009. She has been featured on popular blogs including Medium.com, Wacom.com, and Shondaland.com. Maya has participated in panels on everything from gender & race to ideation and concept development and also worked for the Nigerian film industry!
ORDER A CUSTOM ILLUSTRATION
Tumblr media
Q. Your work has been featured in galleries across the USA, including scholarly works. What is your ethos behind each illustration?
Sheeba Maya: I’ve been making art my entire life. My parents were also artists so art as a lifestyle and an interest in cultural exposure is written in my DNA.
It’s definitely woven into my psyche. It’s so ingrained into how I process information and express thoughts. Filtering my life through art really sharpens my senses as a visionary with an undying drive to actualize what my mind can conceive. I am and always have been seriously self-motivated to learn and grow.
Along with the passion to develop creativity came a desire to share my process and final work. This started a conversation between myself and whoever was looking. I reflect often on this overwhelming amount of feedback and put that together with what I learn about people and the world around me.
So now I’m also developing empathy for humanity through art and art-making. This is especially useful when making art for clients and I have to reach into someone else’s mind and spirit to translate and create THEIR vision that will have an impact and meet a goal.
Tumblr media
Q. Which treats of the first sally the ingenious Don Quixote made from home
Sheeba: These preliminaries settled, he did not care to put off any longer the execution of his design, urged on to it by the thought of all the world was losing by his delay, seeing what wrongs he intended to right, grievances to redress, injustices to repair, abuses to remove, and duties to discharge.
Tumblr media
Q. Your work has been featured on Shondaland as well. What did that feel like?
Sheeba: Amazing! Anytime my art is featured on a large platform like that it’s a proud moment. Getting into ImagineFX was also a big-time goal that felt great. I like getting notes from other artists saying that they were inspired to push themselves creatively or professionally because they saw my work featured somewhere. It all reminds and affirms me that my work is purposeful.
Tumblr media
Q. What would you describe your style as?
Sheeba: Generally I specialize in portraits, people, and characters. Thematically I would call it Fantasy Realism. My work is considered part of the Afrofuturism/Black Speculative Arts Movement.
Tumblr media
“..When I read a story, I start to imagine it playing out in my mind. Like a daydream or a mind movie. The moment that best describes the story is the *jump off* concept. From there I can develop that concept or create alternative ideas by asking myself questions and exploring the “what if ?”. These are jotted down as thumbnail sketches.”
Q. Do you think we still have a long way to go before black women artists do not have to work twice as hard to get the recognition they deserve?
Sheeba: If this question is still being asked, then, yes! It is 2021 and we’re still celebrating the first Black female ‘this or ‘that’. The real question is who do we allow to validate that recognition.
Tumblr media
Q. What kind of difficulties have you faced as a black woman in order to become a successful artist and reach where you are today?
Sheeba: One problem is this overall ever-present assumption that you lack anything of value or quality. With white men, it’s the opposite. So Black women have to devote more energy into proving otherwise.
Tumblr media
Q. What has your experience with Wacom been like?
Sheeba: Simply amazing! I had my eyes set on them as a client for years. Seeing my art on their platform for the first time was a true thrill. I’m always excited for opportunities to create artwork featuring Black people being powerful and fantastical and designed to be enjoyed by anyone regardless of gender, race, or sexual identity.
Tumblr media
Q. What software do you use to create your illustrations?
Sheeba: I switch between Procreate and Photoshop as my programs of expertise.
Q. What was your experience while visiting countless Comic Cons and creating art for the Nigerian film industry?
Sheeba: I am very eager for comic conventions of all kinds to return. I seriously miss meeting fans, creators, and other industry pros to exchange ideas, inspiration, and support. It wasn’t just the opportunity to sell my art. I participated in panels on everything from gender & race to ideation and concept development. I also hosted workshops on fantasy portraits, color theory, ethnicity and anatomy. and digital painting techniques.
Tumblr media
Q. What is the first thing you do when you receive a brief? Describe your process.
Sheeba: The brief is like a little story. And when I read a story, I start to imagine it playing out in my mind. Like a daydream or a mind movie. The moment that best describes the story is the ‘jump off’ concept. From there I can develop that concept or create alternative ideas by asking myself questions and exploring the ‘what if’.
These are jotted down as thumbnail sketches. Thumbnails and related notes/questions are presented for feedback until the concept is worked out and confirmed. From there research for references or related info is performed and the artwork can be fully drawn and then painted to full detail.
Tumblr media
Q. What are some of the most interesting pieces you have worked on so far? And who has been your best client to work with?
Sheeba: One experience that stands out is working with actress Erica Alexander (Living Single, Queen Sugar, Black Lightning). She reached out to me to create illustrative portraits of Michelle Obama and Maxine Waters. The illustrations appeared alongside articles written by Joy Reid (MSNBC) and Alexander herself in a series called MoonRakers featured on medium.com. When Joy Reid mentioned my art, her article and mentioned Michelle Obama in the same tweet!
Another great experience was being hired by comic company Sorghum and Spear to paint collaborating actress Nichelle Nichols (Star Trek OTS) as one of their characters. When they shared a pic of her holding my artwork of her it was a seriously proud moment.
All of the women mentioned are personal heroes and have inspired me to discover, develop, and deliver my greatest potential. These were big-time honours!
Tumblr media
Q. What are your plans for the future?
Sheeba: I am very eager for comic conventions of all kinds to return. I seriously miss meeting fans, creators, and other pros. My life and work were like a playland full of visionary and imaginative people that created and sustained it. Since the pandemic, I’ve been indulging in a lot of personal art that explores new aspects of familiar themes like magic, witchcraft and voodoo, Erotica, and cosplay. I’ve been enjoying all this in isolation but now I’m itching to share with the public all these new expressions.
I’ll also be offering art talks, lectures, and classes virtually in the coming year. It’s funny how social distancing actually pushed me towards becoming more accessible. Now that virtual learning and events are becoming the norm, I’m better able to offer these things to people who would like to work together but are not local to NY.
These preliminaries settled, he did not care to put off any longer the execution of his design, urged on to it by the thought of all the world was losing by his delay, seeing what wrongs he intended to right, grievances to redress, injustices to repair, abuses to remove, and duties to discharge.

Storyline :-Gully Boy” is a film about a 22-year-old boy “Murad” (Ranveer Singh) from a ghetto in Mumbai, India. The son of a driver, his parents worked hard to get him educated so that he could have a white collar job. Meanwhile, Murad realizes his calling to be a rapper. Authentic Hip Hop in India is a recent phenomenon and like anywhere else in the world, is rising from the streets. Art is a distant dream for the colonized poor of India and this story is about Murad’s journey from realizing his love for rap and chasing his dream to inadvertently transcending his class. The film showcases street rap from the crevices of Mumbai’s by lanes. The poetry is conscious of the city's socio-economic fabric and highlights the challenges faced by the disenfranchised youth in the minority population.
Review :- Gully Boy is a Bollywood musical-drama, written, produced and directed by Zoya Akhtar. The movie is based on the life of an underground rapper off streets, Gully Boy presents an emotional journey of a rapper from the slums of Dharavi. Inspired by true events, the film has created an immense buzz ever since its announcement. Gully Boy stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. Carlos Catalan and Jay Oza has wielded the camera for Gully Boy. The film also stars Siddhant Chaturvedi and Kalki Koechlin in pivotal roles.
Whay do all artists have in common?Heartbreak, adversity, a society that doesn't understand your art. No silver spoons. No privileges. Just the long, hard, lonely walk. Zoya Akhtar's lead character Murad is the textbook example of the underdog who rises from the slums of Dharavi and doesn't believe in Slumdog Millionaires. But he believes in telling his story through his music. His rap.
It is a pity then that Dharavi and life within a house where people outnumber the walls are treated with the rosy glasses of an outsider. Much like the foreign tourists in Gully Boy who come take a look inside the houses of Dharavi; a ticket of Rs 500 for a pass to this 'other world', selfie-sticks in hand. Zoya Akhtar is that very outsider in this world. Gully Boy scratches the surface. What we get in the film is a look from the outside. Peekaboo, end credits.
Murad is a 'slumdog'. He measures his days waiting for Safina at the bus stop, humming to himself 'apna time aayega'. Away from the classes in college and his parents' bickering, cocooned in his space on the mezzanine floor of his 300-square-foot house, he pours his life into the pages of his notebook. The words are his own. He needs the beat.
Then enters MC Sher. Murad falls head over heels in love with this rapper at his college. He follows every movement of Sher on Facebook and goes underground. Rap battles take place here, in this world out of Fight Club. The weapon is rap. People insult one another and get hit back right at their weakest points. Murad blends into the scene. His future is about to change. The viewer knows. The problem is the time it takes to reach that turning point.
MC Sher (Siddhant Chaturvedi) who advises him, "Tere andar ka lava phat ke bahar aane de." When Murad meekly expresses his doubt over his rapping in front of public, he tells him, "Agar duniya mein sab comfortable hote toh rap kaun karta?".That’s an insight that comes only from a true fan of this performing art. Director Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Gully Boy’ is the definitive look at the rap scene in India. It chronicles the story of an ordinary boy Murad, from Dharavi, who dreams big and refuses to let adversity squash his spirit. His journey from being the quintessential slumdog to being an ambitious rapper named Gully Boy, is exhilarating and exciting, to say the least. Rap is an unconventional genre of music in India, but even those who don’t necessarily associate with this form of music, will be able appreciate the underdog and heartfelt story.
The story kicks-off in a match-box sized chawl room in Dharavi, where Murad dreams of a better life. He loves the feisty Safeena (Alia Bhatt) just as much he loves to pour his pent up emotions and frustrations onto paper. His life takes a dramatic turn when one day he sees MC Sher aka Shrikant, rap a few college boys to shame, after they’ve booed a girl offstage. Shrikant takes Murad under his wing and together they kick-start a rapper team that’s high on spirit and passion. It’s the classic underdog story, with Murad’s poverty establishing the fact that he’s got very little chance to succeed and no right to harbour big dreams either. Also, his orthodox father Aftab (Vijay Raaz) brings in the quintessential conflicted relationship. While some parts of the film are predictable, what makes ‘Gully Boy’ stand out is the emotional intelligence. Murad’s journey has some fantastic moments that draw you in and keep you hooked. The stellar dialogues by Vijay Maurya add depth to the narrative. The story and screenplay by Reema Kagti and Zoya scores high, has flair and finesse with beautiful touches on the edges. It’s just the kind that raises the tempo of the narrative a notch higher.
The driving force of the film though is the performance by Ranveer Singh. He was born to play this part and the way he raps his soul out in the film, makes it a killer set. He breathes life, despair, euphoria and belief into his role. A line in the film where MC Sher tells Murad says, ‘Tere andar toofan hai’ is bang on. With every new performance, the actor brings in a tidal wave of surprises. Equally brilliant is Alia Bhatt, in a smaller, but deeply impactful role. The actress brings effortless ease into the fiery eccentricities of her character. The chemistry between Ranveer and Alia is cute, lovable and fiery, too. Siddhant Chaturvedi, in his first film, deserves a dab of honour. He’s easily one of the most effortless actors in showbiz. Vijay Varma, Kalki Koechlin and Vijay Raaz are all superb in their respective roles as well.
The music of the film is killer, too. The movie is inspired by the lives of rappers Naezy and Divine, and these Indian artistes, along with a whole host of their contemporaries, have scored a super soundtrack for the film. There’s a reason the film feels legit and that’s down to the fact that real rap artistes worked on this film. The treatment and the visual finesse of the film are at par with anything you’ve seen from Hollywood or anywhere around the world. The rap battles shown in the film are riveting and an inspired piece of writing. The problem with the film though is it’s length, which stretches to two-and-a-half hours, but the emotional deftness and clap-worth dialogues add the right amount of gusto and keep you totally engaged. This is a film that deserves an encore.
