okay okay okay wait. so i know it’s unlikely but now I can’t stop picturing blade and red somehow in some sort of buzzfeed unsolved situation as ryan and shane. not quite the same but there’s blade who just consistently eyes everything with extreme suspicion as he tries to ignore all of red’s excited theorizing and curiosity nfkckck
Oh my god, I'm obsessed with this 😭 Is there a more iconic duo than those two having to hunt demons together and Red's just having the time of his life while Blade is stewing in hatred as well as jumpy paranoia? 😂

Headcanons due to being October/Spooky month: which Pikmin characters believe in ghosts?
Olimar: Totally believes in ghosts, and if he ever winds up dying on the job plans to haunt the daylights out of the company president.
Louie: Doesn't believe in ghosts because if they existed, he'd be super haunted from all the wildlife he's hunted and eaten by now.
Alph: Claims to not believe in ghosts but always leaves little trinkets and packages of fruit snacks around for any helper spirits aboard the Drake.
Brittany: Doesn't believe in ghosts, eats the fruit snacks she keeps finding on the Drake because she doesn't know their significance.
Charlie: Doesn't believe in ghosts, necessarily, but IS superstitious. Gets annoyed when he finds out about Brittany eating the fruit snacks.
Shepherd: Doesn't believe in ghosts, is too busy being scared of monsters - I mean what? Captains aren't scared of anything, ahahah...
Collin: Gets too much weird interference on the comms channel late at night to NOT believe in ghosts.
Russ: Believes in ghosts, but also thinks that most modern methods of ghost hunting are fake sensationalist garbage. Is basically Shane from Buzzfeed Unsolved/Ghost Files yelling at ghosts and demons to come and get him.
Dingo: Claims to not believe in ghosts but is always the first one to freak when the lights cut out unexpectedly. Is basically Ryan from Buzzfeed Unsolved/Ghost Files yelling at Russ to shut up before he gets possessed.
Yonny: Believes in supernatural phenomena that people mistake for ghosts, especially after learning about the Glow pikmin. Uses this to tease Dingo and Collin a lot.
Bernard: Believes in ghosts, but in that superstitious sailor type of way. Has good luck charms and little rituals he does to guarantee safe travels and protections before each flight.
Oatchi: Is a dog. Wonders why no one else seems to notice all the see-through people floating around.

aot youtuber headcanons part 1
Eren: "jaegerbamb"
Eren games. ik this sounds like such a cop out answer but cmon...that dude would have streamy-worthy rage-quits, the best lives, and the most entertaining streams
he would repost all the edits people make of him
he moves to twitch after a while on youtube
all of his fans swear hes fine but everyone who's not is like "yeah hes like a 6"
he rarely collabs with anyone but when he does its always with either mikasa or armin who beat his ass, or connie just bc he loves connie
he HATES horror games and his subs know it so they always request those games and 9 times out of 10 he ends up crying
Mikasa: "wiccanest"
she does manifestation and spirituality stuff
she helps all her baby witches and is EXTREMELY avid about doing things the right way so her subs dont get hurt
she looks scary in her thumbnails but shes actually the softest person to ever exist in her vids
her cats are almost always featured in her videos. their names are keyboard and snufkin
shes also pinterest famous and uploads the most random yet aesthetic stuff
she did a gym vlog video with annie once and everyone went crazy bonkers bananas
Armin: "MinnieASMR"
an asmrist and i will die on this hill
he gives out studying tips on there too and does "study with me :)" videos
he did a mukbang once and never again because connie was in his comments like "ZAMN DADDY LOOKS GOOD WHILE HE MONCHIN??😍😍😍" & "THAT CRUNCH AT 8:29 IM ABT TO BUST A NUT😩"
does tiktok lives but falls asleep on them
choked on his water one time while the mic was at full vol still and woke up a good 2/3rds of his streamers
does the best energy plucks
Connie: "conman reacts"
a react channel
hes like coryxkenshin, but he only plays games with eren
hes actually really funny though, and he does a lot of streams so he can interact with people, and he also has a podcast that he hosts with sasha and jean
actually threw up on camera when someone asked if he and sasha were dating (that was the day they both came out LMFAO)
he is strong asf in every single try not to laugh challenge but the SECOND he hears "wenomechainsama" or any low quality meme and he loses it
he and mr beast did a video together once and connie blew a coke up in his face. he was not invited back
Annie: "Annie's How To's"
self defense videos and life inspiration

actually ended up liking them and gets them when shes not filming
sometimes appears in mikasas videos to do yoga with her
has little 8-minute mindfulness videos
Sasha: "sasha.b"
sasha doesn't do food videos bc im tired of always seeing her with food shit, so i say she does a brittany broski type thing where she literally just does the most unhinged and wild shit whenever and its funny as hell
connie is her sarah schauer and jean is her bestie taylor
shes gone on literally so many podcast episodes and just gets drunk while telling literally the most outrageous stories from her childhood
was a born and raised tennessee girlie that moved to chicago
is mikasas roommate and photobombs her videos almost constantly, but just with a little wave
obsesses over medias and just will not stop talking about it for weeks on end and then moves on in a blink
Jean & Marco: "Jean & Marco V.S. The Paranormal"
they are literally buzzfeed unsolved
jean does not believe in ghosts. marco very much does and says his Catholic Prayers at least thrice in each video
jean twerked for annabelle and she threatened to brutally kill both of them
marcos super respectful and is always like "the dress you have in this picture is just lovely" and jeans like "first of all...youuurrreee nothing but a trashy hoe." and then gets surprised when the ghost targets him
marco fell through a haunted bar's roof and started singing "the lord is my shepherd" and jean stopped himself mid rescue to laugh
a rumor got started that marco was actually dead and a ghost and there is now a national funeral day for marco in the "Jean & Marco V.S. The Paranormal" fandom
Hange: "Science Rulez"
an account purely for middle school science teachers
theyre an actual scientist not just a youtuber but on their off days because they love their job so much they'll do tiny little videos
they are VERY passionate about teaching biology in schools
they have pet turtles and ferrets that they heavily feature and call them their "assistants" (moblit has a "hey, im right here!" voice bite that they usually play)
moblit is their begrudging camera and light man because he just wants to be able to go on vacation with them on their time off
hange covers EVERYTHING from astronomy to fucking quantum physics and always gets comments about how they changed students whole grades and they ALWAYS respond and/or like

Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective Episode 13 Review + Final Thoughts - See You In Season 2
This may be the final episode, but it’s a Christmas present! The staff announced a second season! I’m so glad! This show was so fun that it’d be a waste to not have a continuation. Since it’s still in production, the release date has yet to be finalized. Let’s just hope it steps up the story more than the first season. Because it’s the final episode, the opening updates one last time; Mii and her grandfather, the mayor, are added onto the table behind Ron when Toto and Ron meet up.
Tumblr media
I did like how Toto actually did try to solve most of the case this time around; too bad he couldn’t figure out the final step, which was the location of the key murder weapon, the rope. I’m proud of Toto for not relying too much on Ron this time around.
The episode basically concludes the murder case by exposing the culprit, the mayor. I did predict the mayor and Muroi, so getting the former right made me happy. Though, I didn’t really predict the murder weapon or the motive, so getting into why he did it got me intrigued. It turns out that the mayor was hiding something in the mountains and killed the official as he knew what it was and threatened to expose him. What he was hiding was none other than Spitz’s brother, Shepherd.
The reason Shepherd hid himself for the past eleven years was that he learned crucial information that could’ve gotten him and his loved ones killed, which was why he disappeared without saying anything to Spitz. The villagers, the Mayor and Mii knew he was hiding, so they all did whatever they could to protect him. Throughout those eleven years, Mii developed feelings for Shepherd and they most likely hooked up after the mayor gets arrested. It was really nice seeing Spitz reunited with his long-lost brother, but I am also curious; what did he learn that warranted him into hiding? Was it something that had to do with the M Family?
Ron’s magic eyes almost gotten Toto killed, but I’m glad that he’s not too shaken up over it this time as Shepherd came in last minute with the rope. Back in Episode 6, Ron was so shaken up about how Toto almost got killed, but Toto didn’t mind risking his life. I’m glad that for this case, Ron was able to trust Toto and not get too vulnerable. I make it seem like it’s a good thing he doesn’t care; I promise I’m not!
Another twist happened when Spitz carries out his promise to Ron by infiltrating BLUE’s secret stash but gets caught by Eme Emmerich, the principal of BLUE. I was on edge when he got caught, thinking he’d get killed or exposed, but it turns out that the principal isn’t as strict as she initially seemed. She has a fondness for Ron, which was why she gave Spitz a special message for him to pass onto him. The message says that Ron really isn’t the culprit of the Bloody Field Training incident and that he was framed; the framer was an unknown third party who deleted everything about the case to conceal Ron’s innocence; yep, there’s a mole in BLUE. Not only that, she then tells who the mole belongs to: the House of M, a very notorious crime family; every crime they do is left unsolved. We already did see a hint of what they could do back in the observatory case. They’re clearly terrifying adversaries.
I liked the post-credit scenes with the House of M, mainly Winter Moriarty, making their move. I liked learning why the Moriarty, or mainly Mylo (or Milo) does this. He does this because he wants to see if Ron is worthy to become a member of their family; the reason why Ron got expelled and didn’t get his detective license was because the M Family didn’t want him to become a detective; it makes sense as he has the blood of both Sherlock Holmes and James Moriarty in him. The family seems quite a strict household as they dispose anyone considered a failure; this was why Alice, one of their siblings was disposed of. I’m really anticipating what Winter and Mylo bring to the table next season. Winter hates Ron for being mixed-blood while Mylo is a sinister, palette-swapped version of Ron. Now that Winter is making their move, what sort of crimes will they commit for Ron to solve? Will it be a step up in difficulty or will it be a step down? Given the family’s rumored track record, I expect it to be a step up—no, five steps up in difficulty; if the first season was Normal mode, I expect Season 2 to be on the hardest difficulty.
I honestly can’t wait for Season 2. I’m impatient, so I might read the manga while I wait. I think that I may gain new perspectives on the cases if I read both the original source material and watch the anime when it airs. What are your thoughts on the finale and are you anticipating Season 2 as much as I am?
Final Thoughts
This show is honestly one of my Top 5 favorites for this year. I came into this show because I like Amano’s works, but it made me become a bigger fan of the mystery genre. Heck, I recently got some books as a Christmas present and one of them happens to be a mystery book. I feel like watching this show gives you a craving of mysteries.
The characters are so quirky and entertaining; they really beat the generalization that mystery stories have to have serious characters and tone. Ron Kamonohashi: Deranged Detective goes the opposite direction with the characters. Ron is seriously hilarious with his eccentric personality. Toto seems like the quintessential earnest detective, but the way he’s written is perfect as he is the ‘normal’ guy in a world and cast full of weirdos. The other characters were great too. I just wished Amamiya had a bit more screen time, but what the first season gave to us regarding her was enough for me to get a good sense of who she is. My personal favorite besides the main duo happens to be Spitz. He’s not as weird as Ron, but weird enough to be the funny man to Toto’s straight man.
The mysteries were fun, but some of them were hit or miss. My favorite case was the Observatory case where it spans three episodes and did new things like having a second known murder victim and it being a locked-room mystery. My second favorite would be the psychic case that introduced Dr. Usaki; I liked how Ron and Toto had to prove that Torage killed the victim with normal murder methods and not via ESP.  My least favorite of the bunch was definitely the Hand Collector case; I even openly admitted how much I didn’t like the case because it was all over the place. I do admit that the cases do get a bit better as the story progresses, so hopefully nothing like Episode 5 every pops up again.
The music was nice to listen to. I especially liked the opening! You can’t go wrong with UNISON SQUARE GARDEN and the fact that the song they sang for this show was super unexpected. For a show with gruesome murders, you wouldn’t expect an upbeat, jazz and swingy tune, but it fits the quirky nature of the show. I also love how soothing the ending song is. Speaking of the opening, I loved how it updates during or after every important case; I read somewhere that it speculates Ron opening up to the world after keeping himself isolated from cases for five years. I like that theory, so I am believing it too. I can’t wait to see if Diomedia will continue the trend with the next season.
The voice actors are great! This is the first time I heard Yohei Azakami in an anime and I’d love to watch more anime with him. He does a perfect job with Ron’s eccentrics and seriousness. The way he made a gremlin voice when doing the hand puppet and also mimicking the television show jingle was seriously hilarious. He may be a new face, but if he can do that effortlessly, he has a great career ahead of him. Junya Enoki has always been a good voice actor. He was a good choice for Toto as he can do the “good boy” and the straight man aspects of him perfectly. The other characters had perfect voice actors too. What amazes me the most is that the anime staff casted high quality voice actors to voice the minor characters. Like, getting Maaya Uchida, Yui Ishikawa and Sayaka Senbongi as those girls from the Poisoned Latte case was crazy. Even getting Katsuyuki Konishi as Spitz’s brother was crazy too! Mylo and Winter’s voice actors are amazing too. I can’t wait to see who they cast for the second season, whether it be for minor or supporting characters.
While this isn’t the best mystery anime out there, I do recommend giving it a watch if you’re a fan of the genre. I mean, it’s also created by Akira Amano. If you’re a fan of Reborn!, come check out this show and story! Seriously! Also, when are we getting a Reborn! reboot?

So we've delved the depths of the "Ghost is a serial killer and Soap is the detective on his case" and I love that truly truly I do.
However....
I want to see Soap with a true crime podcast independently investigating unsolved cases. Let him be stupid and reckless and make Gaz his coworker in his normal day job that tells him "going after a serial killer is a bad fucking idea Soap, fucking hell mate". Soap snapped and humiliated an MP in CANON not even in HC, of course he'd love to put all the pieces together to shove it in the face of the local police department. Maybe he's buddy buddy with one of their detectives, Graves, sees him as a decent dude in the wrong profession. Maybe the police chief Shepherd is starting to get sick of him poking around and showing them up. Laswell could be a dispatcher who helps Soap out from time to time, or another podcaster that talks on inequality and feminism and they will occasionally have each other as guests. Price could be his manager at work or maybe he's also on Kate's podcast.
Of course Ghost is still a serial killer (I love maladjusted, creepy little guy Ghost sue me). He finds Soap's podcast, maybe he's a long time listener, maybe he finds it satisfying to find someone so smart and dedicated, maybe he enjoys Soap's scathing commentary on the methods of other killers and the police alike. He gets a little obsessed when what oh my gosh who knew his favorite podcaster works at his local library/coffee shop/restaurant/grocery store and he makes that contact, he watches and stalks, he thinks about killing Soap, but that would be disappointing. So he doesn't. They go on a date yada yada, Ghost starts making kills and taunting Soap to hunt him down which pisses off Graves because that's his case wtf why isn't he getting taunted? Etc etc "alone" etc etc happy ever after.
I would like that please someone write it so I don't have to. (I still might we'll see)

thank you to my dear darling @ghoulsbeard/@bigcheezey for the tag on this and sorry for taking so long to do it. tagging @ava-du-mortain @bitchesofostwick @captastra and maybe a cheeky lil @zevrn
1) describe a project you’re planning to work on over this summer:
Aside from the very obvious (I have a not-so-secret goal to finish Lions of House Cousland before 2024), I'm rewriting a bunch of my lil Wayhaven fics for funsies. I'm also hardcore in Star Wars mode, and I would actually like to be able to post one of my fics from that someday. Oh, and I'm also starting planning on a certain Awakening rewrite/Lions sequel.
2) recommend a book:
I have to recommend what has become one of my favorite books, We Have Always Been Here by Lena Nguyen (who also writes the Shepherds of Haven game, which I only found out well after I'd finished the book). I read it over my last break and I don't remember being so invested in a book in a long time. Existentialist sci-fi about the nature of humanity, what it means to love, and what it is to know another, with the backdrop of the terrifying unknown of deep space and a radiation storm that seems to be unraveling the minds of human and android alike. Grace Park is one of my favorite protagonists, too--I find her so relatable and her narration made me cry multiple times lol. I can't recommend it enough please please please read it.
3) recommend a fic:
Oh you KNOW it's time for me to recommend Heaven Bent (by @bitchesofostwick) and Unsolved (by @ava-du-mortain). Heaven Bent is the sequel to A World Alone, and it follows Ellinor Trevelyan through the events of Trespasser, and it's already one of the most heart wrenching Trespasser fics I've had the privilege to read. Unsolved may be 'crack treated seriously' but it's so fun and Nairuz is such a master of team dynamics.
4) recommend a song:
One song? Too hard. How about an album instead?
5) share some advice:
It's easy with longer projects especially to feel discouraged by low interaction, but that doesn't define the quality of your work. If it's fun to write and brings you joy, that's the most important thing.

what's in a name
more than you might think - especially if that name is Jehovah (Yahweh) meaning Lord.  just as if you were called a name you would answer according to the name you are called.  israel uses all these names to call upon God for each specific need.  while it is important to be aware of all His many attributes, we as christians need only call upon the name of Jesus.  it is the name above all names.  it is all encompassing.
1. Jehovah Jireh – the Lord Our Provider – gen. 22:14 the revelation of the name Jehovah-Jireh, gen. 22:12-14.  the meaning of this name is the Lord Who Provides.  the name is literally, the Lord Who Sees, or the Lord Who Will See To It.  this is what we long for when we have a need that is personal and special; One who will see to our needs and provide for us.
2. Jehovah Rapha – the Lord Our Healer – exodus 15:26 Lord Am Your Healer."  literally, I am Jehovah-Rapha, the Lord Who makes bitter things sweet.  the name Jehovah-Rapha is a name that speaks to us and our need today.  we live in a stressful world and society.  every day new problems confront us and we bend under the load of seemingly unsolvable problems.  how can Jehovah-Rapha bring healing to a sick world.
3. Jehovah Nissi – the Lord Our Banner – exodus 17:15 the revelation of the name Jehovah-Nissi; the Lord Our Banner, exo. 17:15-16.  this name has to do with warfare.  in this instance, the warfare involved God's very own.  our Father is willing to wage warfare on our behalf.  one area of great battle has to do with our carnal nature.
4. Jehovah Rohi – the Lord Our Shepherd – psa. 23:1 this is perhaps the most familiar chapter in the old testament.  the psalm is a short psalm ... only six verses.  but it is filled with words that elaborate on the central statement in which this compound name is included: vs. 1, "the Lord is my shepherd, i shall not want."  perhaps it is as the little boy said when he misread it, "the Lord is my shepherd, i don't want anything else."
5. Jehovah Shalom – the Lord Our Peace – judges 6:24 Shalom is introduced as a name given in relation to Jehovah.  Jehovah-Shalom is the name; literally the "Lord is Peace."  this is a name that speaks in practical ways of the effect of knowing Jehovah God in our lives in very personal ways.  one of the many problems encountered in living in our world today is the problem of anxiety.  most major disorders of our minds are those related in some way to anxiety.
6. Jehovah Shammah – the Lord Our Presence – eze. 48:35 also known as Yahweh Shammah.  God revealed to ezekiel that the name of the new jerusalem will be "the Lord is there".  the spirit of God dwells in us through Christ (1 cor. 3:16).  in eze. 48:35 it is written "Jehovah Shammah" and it means God is here.  its meaning is that the presence of God is going to be in his temple.  we are now His temple.
7. Jehovah Tsidkenu – the Lord Our Righteousness – jer. 23:6 consider the meaning of the word “tsedek.”  the name Jehovah-Tsidkenu draws its meaning from this word.  some say the word has within it the meaning of “stiff” or “straight.”  it is a word that is used in relation to God’s dealing with men.  though difficult to translate, it has to do with such things as justification, righteousness, and acquittal.
8. Jehovah Sabbaoth – the Lord of Hosts – 1 sam. 1:3 isaiah specifically identifies the Lord of Hosts as our Redeemer. “Our Redeemer, the Lord of hosts is His name, the Holy One of Israel (isa. 47:4, see also 44:6; 54:5).  Jesus Christ is our Redeemer.  He is Jehovah Sabaoth, the Lord of Hosts.  this name for God emphasizes His power and authority over the multitudes of earth and heaven.  when Jesus came to earth to redeem us, He repeatedly demonstrated His power over the forces of satan.
9. Jehovah M’Kaddesh – the Lord Our Sanctifier – lev. 20:8 Jehovah Mekoddishkem  means “the Lord Who Sanctifies.”  it is one of God’s names in the bible.  Jehovah is God’s personal name.  Mekoddishkem comes from a Hebrew word meaning “to sanctify,” “to make holy,” “to set apart as holy.”  so Jehovah Mekoddishkem describes God as the One who sanctifies or makes holy.
10. Jehovah Tsuri – the Lord Our Strength – psa. 19:14 Yahweh Tsuri is hebrew for the Lord is my rock.  the word "rock" epitomizes God's enduring faithfulness to us. the hebrew noun tsur is often translated "rock" or "stone", while petra is the Greek word for "rock."  God is my rock.  when the storms of life come, storming all around you, remember Yahweh Tsuri, God is your rock.  you need not be shaken.  God is immovable, unbreakable, a safe place for retreat, and a fortress in battle!  He is our true source of strength, our firm foundation, our support, and our defense.  cling to Him amidst all circumstances!  He will give you a firm place to stand!
11. Jehovah Sel’i – the Lord Our Rock – psa. 18:2 remember, “Jesus is the Rock."  He is the cornerstone on which all else is established.  do not forget, dear brothers and sisters, about how our heritage long ago were lead through the wilderness.  all of them were guided by a cloud that moved ahead of them, and all of them walked through the sea on dry ground.  all of them ate the same spiritual food, and all of them drank the same spiritual water.  for they drank from the spiritual rock that traveled with them.  God is always with us, that is His promise.  bountiful blessings!
12. Jehovah Go’el – the Lord Our Redeemer – isa. 49:26 the term Go'el comes from the Hebrew root word lig'ol (meaning to redeem).  Go'el is a term that denotes a person who as the nearest blood relative of another is charged with the duty of restoring the rights of another, avenging his wrongs.  this goes back to lev. 25:48-49  Jesus has redeemed us from all our debts and trespasses.

The Wicked Sodomite Theology of Paradox & What to Do With It
by Monty L. Collier
The importance of logical deduction from Scripture alone in the formulation of Christian doctrine—especially the doctrine of justification by faith alone—cannot be emphasized enough. The Bible is logically consistent, so it can be rightly divided. The Bible is infallible and inerrant, so it has no mistakes, nor can it make a mistake. The Bible alone is the special revelation of God, who cannot lie, so there are no contradictions in Scripture.
While absurdity, irrationalism, and mysticism have always found a home in Roman Catholicism, they also flourish in Neo-orthodox theology, dialectical theology, and the theology of paradox. Even so, and by logical contrast—such insanity and confusion are entirely absent from theology based on Scripture alone (a.k.a. Calvinism).
There is simply no place for irreconcilable paradoxes, antinomies, apparent contradictions that cannot be harmonized, unsolvable mysteries, nor logical paradoxes in Christian theology—for the Bible does not teach such nonsense.
Presbyterians should not tolerate men who peddle such satanic irrationalism. When churches teach absurdity and confusion, should we be surprised when society calls good evil or vice versa?
It is not a surprise that many Americans are confused about their gender and their sexual orientation, for men like Cornelius Van Til, Greg Bahnsen, Douglas Wilson, R. Scott Clark, John MacArthur, James White, and others have been teaching ministers that the Bible is replete with irreconcilable paradoxes for decades.
According to the absurd and satanic teachings of men like Van Til—since all the teachings of the Bible are irreconcilably paradoxical—when the Bible teaches that boys are male, then it also necessarily implies that boys are NOT male. Simply put, Van Til’s theology results in gender confusion, as well as the moral affirmation of every behavior condemned by God’s Law—and the moral negation of every work required by God’s Law!
To persuade chumps to accept their idiotic teachings, men like Van Til had to disparage logical deduction and advocate for non-linear reasoning. The wicked theologians of paradox had to convince their followers that the Bible was wrong when it describes God as being reasonable: “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord” Isaiah 1:18. The satanic imposters had to convince men that the Bible is wrong when it describes Christians as men who reason in a linear fashion—using logical deduction—from Scriptute alone to establish clear and authoritative teaching: “And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures” Acts 17:2.
The blasphemous wolves that disseminate the lie that biblical teaching is irreconcilably paradoxical should be removed from any and every Presbyterian teaching position they may hold.
In the old days, Presbyterians refused to tolerate absurdity, irrationalism, and confusion thinly disguised as Reformed doctrine. This can be seen in the subsequent quote on Sola Fide by Scottish Presbyterian James Buchanan (1804-1870):
“The reasoning of the Apostles with the Jews on the subject of justification relates chiefly to the doctrine which was revealed in the Old Testament; and, apart from its inspired authority, or considered simply as a process of logical deduction from the facts which are there recorded, it is one of the finest specimens of close, consecutive, conclusive reasoning to be found in the whole range of human authorship.”
(The Doctrine of Justification, Lecture 2, page 51)
Actual Calvinists, for example, do not accept the heretical notions of those who follow Norman Shepherd (a Van Tilian). Shepherd spent his career arguing that Romans 3:28 could not be logically reconciled to James 2:24. Shepherd was rightfully fired from his seminary job for espousing that Papist heresy. It’s too bad his defenders escaped termination and excommunication (Cornelius Van Til, Greg Bahnsen, John Frame, and a host of other professors at Westminster Seminary, Pennsylvania publicly defended and endorsed Shepherd’s justification-by-faith-and-works heresy).
We have pointed out for years that the dialectical theology of men like Cornelius Van Til and Herman Bavinck necessarily leads to agnosticism, utter skepticism—or to speak plainly—satanism (i.e., do whatever you want). If Presbyterian churches are to ever be reformed, then the sodomite theology of paradox running rampant in our land has to be thrown out, along with the bums that teach it.

Viv Head Canons #1:
~~ Viv and Frankie regularly go on walks around the city. Frankie’s favorite place to run around is the park in Chissob Hills. Viv suspects it’s probably because he enjoys marking his territory near the werewolves as some weird canine joke or competition.  ~~ Viv’s favorite blood type is B Positive. Not only does she think it’s delicious, but it’s also comes with a cute little affirmation when she thinks about it. ~~ There is an episode of Unsolved Mysteries based on the disappearance of Vivian aka Nora Simmons and her fiancé Daniel Shepherd. the song of the lighthouse-keeper
First posted on Hellopoetry in November 2020. You ever try to write a poem for the funsies and it comes out sad? The prompt for this one was "Present options on the first line of your poem" from Leandro & Mai (@leandroandmai on Instagram). I think it was also influenced by the latest Buzzfeed Unsolved video about the Flannan Isles Lighthouse Keepers. Also, it's been windy and rainy and cold lately. This poem also appeared in ISIO Zine.
Shall I march into the sea tonight? The lighthouse-keeper asks. The light is lit; the wind is wound; I have no other tasks. The rains have cycled fifty times Since they last turned on me; Shall I bar the windows shut tonight, or march into the sea?
Who will find me lost at sea tonight? The lighthouse-keeper thinks, When shepherds turn their flock indoors, And the barkeep turns to drink. I am the lighthouse-keeper, but I do not have to be; They'll find another keeper when They find me lost at sea.
And if the sea won't take me, love, The lighthouse-keeper sighs, No candle on my windowsill Is watched by no-one's eyes — No shadow's crossed my threshold's bounds Since I was thirty-three — With stones inside my pockets Let me march into the sea.
Give me no pauper's funeral, The lighthouse-keeper sings, Though scant be the inheritance You'll cobble from my things. If my debtors come a-calling, Tell them, forfeit every fee — Or, if they are truly greedy, Let them find me lost at sea.

A secret room and a jarring first date: Gilgo Beach murders suspect set off alarm bells
Tumblr media
Alarming Encounters and the Gilgo Beach Murder Suspect Rex Heuermann, a Manhattan architect, is at the center of a chilling mystery. He's accused of murdering at least three women, with their cases unsolved for over a decade until human remains were discovered at Long Island's Gilgo Beach. Heuermann's interactions in his Long Island neighborhood and beyond paint a complex and disturbing picture. Neighbors recall odd, sometimes threatening interactions with Heuermann, despite living near him for years. In contrast, a former co-worker, Katherine Shepherd, remembers Heuermann's kindness when she was injured, a sentiment echoed by her parents. However, Heuermann's arrest has cast these memories in a sinister light, with authorities labeling him a "demon that walks amongst us." Shepherd's perspective, once positive, now feels chilling, especially recalling a restricted area in Heuermann's home labeled as "the mystery room." Nikkie Brass, a former escort, describes a haunting date with Heuermann, where his fascination with the Gilgo Beach murders and his knowledge of the area struck her as deeply unsettling. Heuermann faces first-degree murder charges for the deaths of three sex workers, Melissa Barthelemy, Megan Waterman, and Amber Lynn Costello, and is a prime suspect in the killing of a fourth, Maureen Brainard-Barnes. He has pleaded not guilty. The discovery of these victims along Ocean Parkway sparked a broader investigation, uncovering more remains, including those of other sex workers. Authorities are probing connections between Heuermann and these additional cases. In another disturbing incident, a neighbor, Jimmy Mack, recounts a confrontation with Heuermann over a parking issue, revealing Heuermann's threatening demeanor. Heuermann's arrest has left those who knew him reeling, struggling to reconcile their experiences with the allegations against him. As the investigation continues, more details may come to light, potentially unraveling the full extent of Heuermann's alleged crimes. Read the full article

BLURB
She wakes to the dawn light streaming through the window and rolls over to whisper good morning to her fiancé. But panic floods her veins. His side of the bed is empty and cold. Blood trails towards the open door. All trace of him is gone… It’s been one month since Detective Katie Scott’s fiancé, Chad, went missing without a trace. Devastated Katie is still working tirelessly day and night to track down the love of her life, barely sleeping and chasing every new lead. But now the case has gone cold. When the body of beautiful Gina Hartfield is discovered among the pine needles in a clearing on Lookout Ridge, Katie swallows her own pain and knows she must focus on finding Gina’s killer. The young woman was found with a pink velvet blindfold shading the hollows where her eyes had been removed. Katie is certain she is chasing a sadistic individual who will soon take another life… But the autopsy reveals Gina’s body was washed before being abandoned, leaving no trace of evidence behind. And with no witnesses to Gina’s disappearance, the women of Pine Valley are terrified to go out alone. Desperately combing the crime scene, when Katie sees a newspaper article about her previous cases pinned to a nearby tree, she is certain Gina’s murder is personal. Then tire tracks found in the forest are matched to a truck seen following Chad in the days leading up to his disappearance. Katie’s blood runs cold. Is there a link between Chad’s disappearance and Gina’s brutal murder, or is the killer playing a twisted game with Katie? Can she find out the truth before they take another life? A totally gripping serial killer thriller for fans of Lisa Regan, Rachel Caine and Melinda Leigh. Prepare to stay up all night with this nail-biting rollercoaster ride from USA Today and Amazon bestseller Jennifer Chase!

Guest Review:  Good Dog Bad Dog by David Rosenfelt
K-Team Book 4
Minotaur Books
March 14th, 2023
Good Dog, Bad Cop by David Rosenfelt has plenty of action and humor.  There is always a dog on the cover, which should draw readers in. This series, involving the K-Team, is a spin-off of the Andy Carpenter series.  It features many of the same exciting characters.
The team consists of Corey Douglas, a retired police detective, his retired German Shepherd police dog Simon Garfunkel, named after the rock group, and PIs Laurie Collins and Marcus Clark.
While Corey doesn't have the same rapid fire, often in your face humor as Andy, he can be very sarcastic at times. Rosenfelt noted, “Corey is more like Andy than he should be.  Both have my personality.  Corey is different from Andy in that he is not a physical coward, but a risk taker. Corey can be devious, sarcastic, analytical, and humorous.”
As with all these books Corey is a first-person narrator.  With this story there are suspects and bodies galore. The K-Team is hired by the Paterson New Jersey police to consult on Cold Cases. They get to choose their cases and this time decide on a case personal to Corey since the killings involved police he knew. Police Detective Danny Avery is murdered execution-style. The killing was being investigated by Danny’s mentor, former detective Jimmy Dietrich. Unfortunately, he and Danny’s wife, Susan were also killed on Jimmy’s boat.  It was considered a murder suicide with Jimmy pulling the trigger.  What upsets Corey is that Danny and Jimmy are considered corrupt. With no true evidence available, the deaths went unsolved, and the case declared cold. Now Corey and the team want to find the real murderers and clear the dead polices’ names.
Besides wanting to clear the names of those he knew, Corey is also having problems with his girlfriend, Dani. “I wrote her as witty, compulsive, direct, confidant, determined, and very independent.  She never hints at the possibility of marriage, which bugs Corey.  She does not want a commitment. The two things that bother him is that he has completely turned around from how he used to be.  He is very interested in having a relationship and is insecure that she does not want it.”
Readers will travel with the characters to Philadelphia, New Jersey, Chicago, Queens, Upstate New York, and California.  “I want to get the characters out occasionally. The problem is if one character is moved around the whole crew needs to move around because it is an ensemble. This is tough to do. In the next book, Andy spends a lot of time in California because a murder happens within the movie business.  The title is Flop, Dead, Gorgeous. In high school Andy dated someone who became a big Hollywood star. She is accused of murder and Andy takes her on as a client.”
The plot is filled with action, intrigue, and great banter.  The suspects are not literally and figuratively what they appear to be, which enhances the mystery.  The characters will draw the readers into the story including the canine one.
