Character Concepts

Early concept work for the characters in IAS, all due for revision (except Lonnie and Flutter they’re cool).

Character’s in order:

Lonnie, the head of field operations in the Horde

Flutterina, aspiring actor with little to no faith in herself. DT’s interpretation (as shown in the concept) is she’s a blogger/influencer.

Angella, Captain of the Rebellion, a non-gov unit formed against Horde invasion.

Castaspella, co- captain of the Rebellion as well as head principal of Mystacor, a training unit for mech pilots and princesses, as well as a high end university in bio-mechanics and history.

Completed in 2019/2020

The old She-Ra's dragon never died. As She-Ra faithful stead, she was granted immortality. But, over time, Light Hope's indoctrination about balancing the planet addled in her aging brain with her dragon instincts until she started traveling around Etheria collecting runestones. She sleeps upon her hoard in a far off cave and devours any that try to come and take her treasures.

Now the powerless princesses must find a way to get their runestones back from a dragon that can wield every single one of their powers.

So it's been a couple of years since I worked on my custom She Ra dolls since the base parts (factory SDCC She Ra heads and WWE Superstar bodies) became incredibly difficult to track down and my dwindling supply of parts made me incredibly nervous to finish off my initial project of the toy canon characters. But I've seen the Rainbow High Closet set, and I know in my heart that the orange knit butterfly dress would be perfect for Flutterina so I finally got around to painting her face. For my She Ra dolls I tend to use the vintage Mattel toys as my main basis while only looking to the Filmation canon to help extrapolate details in the face since I feel like that would work best with my 2016 She Ra's stylisation. But Flutterina has a pretty generic toy face so a lot of my inspiration is lifted directly from Filmation. I know a lot of people admire my ability to make a custom doll, but this doll was waiting for a face up since 2019.
