Bakery AU - Decorating the Cupcakes

On the discord last night, we talked about the Bakery AU a bit, and that got me inspired to write some cute fluffy shit. Because you can always use some cute, fluffy, cupcake-involving writes in your life. Enjoy.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Stan walked into the kitchen. The person Lute had sent him in to talk to, Angie, was decorating a three-tier wedding cake. The tip of her tongue stuck out of the corner of her mouth. Stan had noticed before how that always seemed to happen when she focused intently. He inhaled.

“Smells good in here,” he said. Angie looked up from the wedding cake.

“I sure hope so!” she chirped. “Since I baked some cupcakes earlier, if it don’t smell good, then somethin’ went wrong.” Angie nodded at the wall hooks by the door, where Stan’s apron was hanging. “Get suited up, boyo.”

“Boyo?” Stan mumbled, putting his apron on and tying it around his waist.

“I’m older than you by a couple months, I can call ya that,” Angie replied. She frowned at the wedding cake, then sighed. “Well, that’s as good as it’ll get fer now. C’mon, join me.” Angie strolled over to the counter by one of the ovens, where a large number of cupcakes had been laid out. Stan followed, dread building.

“Uh, when Lute said you were gonna teach me, I thought it was more baking lessons.”

“Nope! Decoratin’.” Angie grinned at Stan. “It’s high time we got ya started on that.”

“Shouldn’t Lute be teaching me? He’s got the nicest handwriting.”

“Sure, but I have steadier hands. That’s why I’m the one who does the more important decorations and finer details.” Angie walked over to the fridge and opened it. “Havin’ steady hands was really useful back in labs in school,” she added, seemingly as an afterthought.

“Labs?” Stan asked, hoping to delay the decorating lesson. Angie nodded.

“Science labs.”

“Was it a gen ed requirement or something?”

“Pardon?” Angie frowned at him, bemused.

“I mean, if you went to culinary school or majored in uh…I dunno…food or whatever, why would you take science labs, if they weren’t gen eds?”

“Well, yer mistake there was assumin’ I went to culinary school. I didn’t.” Angie began to dig around in the fridge. “Went to a fancy science technical school. Got myself a bachelor’s in science. Major in biology, minor in chemistry.” She removed a few containers of frosting. “‘Course, the whole environment or atmosphere or whatever ya want to call it, it was rough. Very competitive. Dog eat dog.” She closed the fridge door with more force than necessary. “Rich snobby folks who didn’t like the charity case farmgirl from Arkansas,” she spat. Stan grimaced.

Fuck. The last time I saw her this pissed off, it was when I let slip that I got kicked outta the house. She and Lute seemed ready to drive to Glass Shard Beach and beat up Pops themselves. Angie let out a long sigh.

“I’m not that heartbroken over bein’ done with that school,” she continued. “Didn’t like just about anyone there.”

“…What school was it?” Stan asked.

“West Coast Tech,” Angie answered. She carried the frosting over to the counter. Stan’s jaw dropped.

The fancy-ass school Ford couldn’t get into?

“I know, I know, I don’t seem like the type to get into a place like that,” Angie said, setting the frosting down. She began to dig through drawers, pulling out various utensils.

“No, it’s not that, it’s just-” Stan chewed on his lip. “Remember how you tricked me into blabbing about my twin brother, Ford?”

“Vaguely.” Angie’s tone was light, but her shoulders tightened. Stan recognized this behavior. She was getting ready to jump to his defense.

“Don’t worry, this isn’t about him being shitty or my dad being shitty or anything like that,” Stan said quickly. Some of the stress left her shoulders, but Angie was still visibly on edge. “It’s- Ford’s a genius. Like, legit genius. And he didn’t get into West Coast Tech. So to hear that you got into it, it’s-” Stan winced. “There’s no way for me to finish that sentence without insulting you, is there?”

“Nope. But it’s fine.” Angie smiled at him. Stan felt his heart flutter. “I get it. And thank you fer sharin’ more ‘bout yer past.”

“Well, you were telling me about yours, so fair’s fair,” Stan said with a shrug. Angie chuckled. “But if you went to West Coast Tech for science, how’d you end up owning a bakery with Lute?”

“I took a gap year after I got my bachelor’s.” Angie leaned against the counter, her gaze distant. “Needed it, after the awful climate at WCT. They accepted me into their grad program, but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to stay there fer it or not. Anyways, while I was tryin’ to decide, Lute visited. And signed the two of us up fer a bakin’ competition.” Angie shook her head. “Still don’t know what possessed him to do it. Maybe he saw a flyer while he was out at a club or somethin’.”

“And you guys won the competition?”

“Oh, heavens no!” Angie laughed. “A professional baker beat us. But we got second place, and managed to impress one of the judges enough that he told us if we wanted to start a bakery, he’d give us the money we need to get it off the ground.” She shrugged. “And we took ‘im up on the offer.”

“Really? Just like that?”

“Yep.”

“What about your science degree?”

“What about it?”

“You didn’t do anything with it.”

“Eh.” Angie pointed at him. “Don’t think I can’t tell exactly what yer doin’, by the way. Lute ‘n I used to pull the same thing to get out of doin’ work. Yer tryin’ to get me to jabber ‘n jabber ‘n jabber until we run out of time fer ya to learn how to frost some cupcakes. No sirree bob.” Angie handed him a pastry bag. “First, we need to put the frosting in the bag. Then we can get to work on frostin’.”

For about fifteen minutes, they worked quietly, Angie preferring to show him how to decorate, rather than tell.

“Oop, yer a lil off,” Angie said in a soft tone. She reached for Stan’s hand. The second her skin touched his, Stan froze. “Uh, Stan?”

“I, uh, um-” Stan stammered.

“Somethin’ wrong?”

“Uh, no. No.”

“Okay, well, here, let me help.” Angie carefully put her hand over Stan’s, guiding and steadying him. Her fingers were much smaller than Stan’s, slim, warm, and gentle. Stan could feel his face beginning to flush. “Like that. Got it?” Stan’s face burned. “Stan?”

“Yep. Yep. Got it,” Stan mumbled.

“Good.” Angie let go of his hand. “Oh dear, yer shakin’ like a leaf! Are ya sure yer okay?”

“Y-y-yeah. I am.” Stan set down the pastry bag. “So, uh, it seems like a bit of a waste to have me decorate these, since they won’t be good enough to sell.”

“Oh, that won’t be a problem,” Angie said cheerfully. “We can always sell ‘em at a discount. Or donate ‘em to the food bank. We’ll prob’ly do the second one. Folks always want cupcakes fer parties, and people with money issues should have access to ‘em, too.”

“…You and Lute are good people,” Stan said quietly. Angie began to set aside the decorated cupcakes.

“We try,” she replied.

“You succeed. I’ve seen how much stuff you donate. Most people wouldn’t do that.”

“We were raised right, is all. And I can tell yer tryin’ to get out of yer lesson, again.” Angie wagged her finger at him playfully.

“Heh. You caught me.”

Not really. Stan watched Angie continue to pick up a few small things here and there. You guys really are good. A lot better than I am, that’s for sure. Better than Ford, too. Angie gave up science to bake cupcakes and brownies with her twin brother. Ford gave up on me to go do science. A thought occurred to him.

“Do you miss science?” Stan asked. Angie eyed him.

“Stan, we really should get back on track.”

“Yeah, yeah, I know. But before we do, will you answer that question?”

“…Fine.” Angie looked down at the counter. She brushed a few stray sprinkles away. “Yes. I do miss it sometimes. I really liked bein’ in biology and chemistry. I mean, I’m happy now, and I don’t think I’d give up what Lute and I have goin’ fer us. But I definitely miss bein’ a scientist.” Angie smiled faintly. “It really…spoke to me. Y’know?”

“Yeah. I do.” Stan rubbed the back of his neck. “Hey, uh, if you miss science, maybe you should sorta, um, mix it with the bakery.”

“What?”

“Ugh, I can’t fuckin’ talk sometimes,” Stan said with an awkward laugh. He coughed. “You could combine science and cupcakes.” Angie was now watching him intently. “Like, um, make science-themed cupcakes or whatever.” Angie’s eyes widened. “Make stuff look like beakers or test tubes, or do those uh, those stick drawings.”

“Yer referrin’ to molecular diagrams.”

“Sure.”

“Ooh.” Angie’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “Oh, goodness, Stan. That’s brilliant! Yer a genius!”

“I don’t think-”

“No, seriously, that’s an amazing idea. We could partner with a science camp or somethin’, make it a whole event and have science-themed pastries all day. I love it!” Angie gushed. Stan blinked.

“R-really?”

“Yes!” Angie jumped excitedly. She walked over to Stan and took a hold of his hands. A slow smile began to spread across Stan’s face. “Oh, I have to talk to Lute, and we’ll set up a whole thing. This’ll be great. Perfect way to indulge my scientific side and it’ll be a good promo thing. Goodness, goodness, goodness.”

“Glad you like it,” Stan said, now grinning broadly. “I guess we should get back to-” Angie kissed him on the cheek. Stan’s face immediately turned deep red. He stumbled back, knocking over the tray with the wedding cake on it. The wedding cake went flying, collapsing into crumbs and bits of frosting. Once the air cleared, Stan met Angie’s eyes. Her mouth was open in a silent “O”. “Angie’, I’m-” Stan started. Angie burst out laughing.

“What a day!” she chortled. “I find out more ‘bout yer mysterious twin brother, you tell me I should have a science-themed day fer the bakery, we destroy the weddin’ cake I spent the last couple days on.” She wiped a tear away from her eye. “Dear me.”

“You’re- you’re not mad at me?” Stan asked quietly. Angie laughed again.

“What? No! I was the one who startled ya. Sorry ‘bout that. It was a bit forward of me.”

“I- um, it’s- it’s fine,” Stan mumbled.

If you wanna really apologize, you could always kiss me again. The suggestion died on Stan’s tongue. I shouldn’t say that. She kisses Lute on the cheek all the time. It doesn’t mean she likes me romantically. Honestly, it almost definitely doesn’t mean she wants to be more than friends. And if I tell her to kiss me again, she’ll get pissed and Lute will get pissed and they’ll kick me out, and-

“Stan?” Angie’s voice broke off Stan’s panicked thoughts. “Uh, not to end our lesson early, but I think I need to get to work on replacin’ the weddin’ cake. So maybe you should go help out Lute up front.”

“Oh! Yeah. Yeah, I can do that,” Stan said quickly. Angie nodded, still smiling. Emboldened by the fact that she wasn’t upset with him, Stan took a step forward. “But before I go up front…” Angie looked up at him, curiosity in her bright blue eyes. Stan plucked a large cake crumb out of Angie’s hair. He grinned at her. “You had something in your hair.” Angie turned pink. “All right, now I’ll go help Lute. I’m sure he’s completely failing without me around.” Angie chuckled softly, her cheeks still flushed. Stan winked at Angie and walked out of the kitchen. Lute, organizing a few pastries in the display case, looked over.

“Uh, did ya have a food fight with the cupcakes?” he asked. Stan ran his hands through his hair, combing out the crumbs.

“Nah. I knocked over the wedding cake. So she’s gotta make a new one instead of continue teaching me how to decorate.”

“Wait, what? Oh man, I bet Angie gave ya quite the dressin’ down.”

“No, she didn’t.” Stan joined Lute by the display case. “She laughed, actually.”

“…She did?” Lute’s voice was quiet. Stan looked at Lute. He seemed to be thinking hard about something.

“What’s on your mind?”

“Nothin’,” Lute said after a moment. He cleared his throat. “All right, let’s get this place shipshape.”

“You got it.” As Lute bustled around, getting the bakery ready to be opened, Stan glanced back at the door leading to the kitchen. Stuck in his mind was the sound of Angie’s laugh, the sparkle in her eyes, her blushing face.

“Hey, daydreamin’ Steven,” Lute’s voice said, startling Stan out of his reverie. Stan looked up. “You ready fer the customers?”

“You know it,” Stan said confidently. Lute flipped the sign over to read “OPEN”.

It’s showtime.

I use Easy Paint Tool SAI and a pretty old wacom intuos tablet! Both questions are answred in my faq, actually~

They’re disasters as parents but they try their best and are always having fun - Nori adores them! In their house not a minutes goes by without someone laughing, they’re all super loud and cheerful always~ neither of them has any problem dealing with Nori’s quirk, Sero has spent a whole lifetime learning how to deal with sticky stuff and tape and glue so he knows all the tricks to save clothes and furniture from accidental quirk usage and so on, while Mina’s own quirk makes it easy to counter any glue that might end on her - the main thing actually is that the quirk itself was a surprise! Since Nori looks a lot like Mina, both she and Sero had expected her to have acid like Mina so when she started gluing herself around in places and walking along walls and stuff it was a surprise (they had expected to have to deal with the house being constantly half destroyed by acid though, so glue is nothing compared to that haha)

I didn’t really bookmark any and most were old things I had read in the past and spent time rereading lately, but the newest one I read is this one - honestly though at this point 99% of the fics set in the dorms have them sharing a bed, you just need to open ao3 and scroll down less than a page to find stuff lol

I’m glad you like her !! Funny you ask because shes actually the only character (besides Fey) that I’ve actually sketched before but theyre still really really rough so heres some rough and inconsistent sketches of Dara from my sketchbook !!

I need to get better at drawing her body type because shes gonna be a thicc gal even if its not obvious from her sketches (i got a lot of inspiration from mei overwatch) but yeah she likes cozy clothes and the previous costume designer who got fired before the mc joined was a creep (hence the old costume being a titty outfit) but her final one is gonna be like real cool she gonna have a nice suit and a cute hat

PHOTOGRAPHY HARRY ; chapter 1

"Bye mum!" were my last words as I saw her driving off, leaving me alone in a whole new world. Today, was my first day of university. I managed to scrape through my A-levels and get a decent enough grades to be accepted by Brighton Uni. Ever since I was little I have always wanted to do something with art as a career. I would pretend with my grandparents that I was some kind of fancy painter who sold their paintings for millions of pounds, we would do auctioneers selling my crumpled, messy drawings. But my grandparents pretended it was the greatest thing they had ever seen and even to this day they they have a box full in the loft of all my drawings, of course signed and dated. My grandparents were always one of my reasons for doing art when I was younger, just to see the smile my scribbles of a rainbow and some stick men would draw upon their faces. It's been 6 years since they had passed away, but whenever I created a new piece I would always try and remember their expressions looking at my work, even if it wasnt my best. That's what my first thought was, as Mum said her goodbyes, whilst I was stood on the curb with my suitcase and box of a few bits. Mum never seemed to be very interested in my life, I had to awkwardly ask for a lift as no one else could give me a lift. The ride there wasnt particularly enjoyable as the silence seemed to fog the air. So I decided to connect my phone to the aux cable and play some Fleetwood Mac to calm myself. I mean a fresh new start, new people and new places is the best thing to get me away from home. My thoughts were broken, when a girl started to wave in myself. I must've been daydreaming because she looked slightly impatient, but she gave me a soft smile when I regained focus. She was beautiful she had birght hazel eyes that matched perfectly with her tight curled black hair and olive skin. She wore a navy velevet crop top that tied around her waist with a pair of black jeans that stuck to her hips, showing off her hour-glass figure. "I'm Bobby" she gleamed as she gestured her had to me. I gave her a smile back and shook her hand "Violet" I replied. "Ah so you must be my room mate. Been waiting all day to meet you, you took your time!" she teased letting out a brief laugh. Immediately putting me at ease. "Follow me and I'll show you to our room." She said as she grabbed the box of my stuff and walking into the building ahead of us. The building was a basic uni stereotypical building, the typical grey building with a basic style to it, but it would have to do. "Heres your room" Bobby gestured to the little box room overlooking the carpark and other houses. "Thanks Bobby" "It's alright... um look me and some friends are going to a local pub near by to meet up with the other freshers. If you dont have plans do you want to come?" Her eyes were hopeful like a innocent puppy, how could I say no. "Oh, yeah, sure that sounds really cool" "YES! ok well be ready by 9 and then we can walk down together, cool?" she said excitedly. I nodded glad that my first year might not be going to complete rubish just yet. I locked the door behind me, sighing as I sat on the bare matress. I suppose I should unpack a bit as my room did seem a bit bare and I had hours to get ready so I had time. I unpacked my duvet covers that I'd taken from home, it had flowers on it that tied well together. However, you could still see some of the acrylic stains from when I had been too lazy to go and paint on my desk and then accidently knocked paint on it, but that added character. I set up my bed adding a pillow that Grandma had sewn together for me and I also hung up some coloured fair lights around the room to add a more homely look, along with my posters of some bands that I had seen back home. By the time I set up my room It had been 2 hours and I only had a hour to get ready, so I quickly set up my speaker and played a few songs from my playlist to try and boost my energy levels from travelling mostly all day. I hadn't had many clothes to choose from that weren't crinkled or just lunging around clothes, so I decided just to go for my normal day wear: a pair of blue 'mom' jeans and a white T-shirt with 'feminism' written in black across the front. My hair was no longer strait from where I straightened it this morning and curls were beginning to show so I put it in a quick pony tail, tucking my baby hairs behind my ears. As I had gone so basic on the outfit I thought it was right to spruce up the makeup a bit more, grabbing my orange eyeshadow palette that I had have since I was 15. I qucikly put some orange in my crease with my brush and a shimmery gold on top to add a more glam look and a bit of mascara to top it off. It was almost 9 so I grabbed my phone chucked it in my bag with my purse and tried to find Bobby. "Bobby!" "IM ALMOST READY! just give me five mins!" she called from her room. I took her word for it and grabbed my black converse and sat on the sofa which was positioned right next to the kitchen and positioned my self tying my laces. ~20 mins later~ "hey V, sorry I didnt know what to wear... ready to go?" she said as she brushed he hand through her hair. No one had ever called me 'V' before, but then no one really new my name let alone making a nickname for it, it felt good. She came out in a dress that was another velvet piece in green that tied around her hips exagerating her curves, with a pair of black heels. Making me feel very self concious about my outfit choice. "it's fine, nice dress by the way" I complemented trying to not make it seem awkward. "aw thankyou! I um love your bag." The brief pause didn't help my confidence but I decided to forget it and just go to the pub. We both walked down to the 'pub' as Bobby had described it, it was more like a casual club not a steak and chips place that I had imagined in my head. The place was called 'panther' there was a loud buzz of people and banging of music played through outside. But Bobby gave me a smile and pinched my hand as she lead me inside over towards a bar. There was a group of about 5 people standing around that seemed to be looking straight at us, they all hugged Bobby welcoming eachother untill they all stared at me obviously wondring who I was. "Oh guys this is my room mate Violet, thought she could use some company so be nice!" "hey nice to meet all of you" I smiled, they all laughed giving me hugs. There was Alex a who was tall and stood strong with baby blue eyes that shined against the light. Lucy, who Bobby seemed especially close with as they both had eachothers arms wrapped around their waists, I presumed that was her girlfriend, she had dark brown long hair that was around her shoulders, they just seemed to go perfectly together. There was also Niall a cute looking guy with blonde hair that stood sipping his pint of beer at the back smiling at me.Two other girls also stood next to Niall they both seemed as elegant as Lucy with their slim figures and perfect structured faces. By the time we all started talking I realised I hadn't yet got a drink and decided to swiftly move towards to bar,sitting on the sticky stool waiting for the bar tender to come over. It was nice to have a bit of space away from people just to regather myself, I had a quick scroll through my instagram feed looking at the people back home starting uni, wheni decided to turn it off and just to enjoy myself. Untill I heard the stool next to me be pulled out by a man with curly dark brown hair, he was looking me straight in the eyes. He had piercing green eyes that where mesmerising. "Hello" he said, his voice husky "I'm in a band" he grinned. "Does that line normally get you very far" I spluttered out not thinking what I was saying. "Didn't mean to offend you." His hands began to play with his ruby ring around his finger twirling it round almost nervously. He looked very comfy whilst wearing a knitted space jumper that looked exspensive, with a pair of flared blue jeans and vans, whilst he had sunglasses stirred into his curly hair. "I just thought I would come over and say 'hi', you seemed to be lonely sitting here all by yourself" a small smile began to grow across his face, as he began to look up at me. "I'm perfectly fine thanks, I'm here with my room mate so no need to worry im not alone" I joked letting out a small laugh. "Good to hear it" he beamed "I'm harry, just moved here, you?" he ignored my invitation for him to leave. "Violet, and so have I, are you at uni here too?" I began to get more comftable as his smile relaxed me. "Yeah I'm doing second year photgraphy, I just moved from London to Brighton as I fancided a change of scenery" he sighed. I didn't question his lack of enthusiam and ordered a drink for myself. He tried to pay for me but I refused I didn't need his money. But he insisted where I had to let him or he would of kept pestering me. For the whole night we both sat there talking about a load of nonsense like our favourite food and movie and about what we wanted to do in the future, obviously I had no idea or either did he like most students. He did talk about his band saying that his band mates are going to perform this weekend on saturday and that I should go, he seemed like a sort of guy to like my music taste so I couldnt see why not. "The band is called CHASM, and dont froget it cos' one day we'll be touring the world" we both laughed. For some reason the tinge of confidence that he had didnt seem rude to me it felt funny and almost warming as cringey as it sounded he started to grow on me. "Hey um look, heres my number" he typed his number in my phone and sent message to himself so he had my number too, making my eyes roll playfully. "Text me whenever you want and if you want to come along to one of our gigs" his dimples began to show as his mouth peaked. "Yeah sure, maybe see you around campus?" I tried to say casually like I knew what I was talking about. We said our good byes as Bobby was calling me to leave now as she had begun to get a bit tipsy. He hugged me into his arms in a bear hug, I could smell the scent of alcohol mixed with aftershave, but not too over powering that it was actually pleasant. Harry made sure we both were in a uber on the way home nice and safely, even though it was only a 10 minute walk. He insisted on walking us home himslef but he had already been too kind and I didn't want to push it. By the time he shut the door, Bobby immediately look at me with her brow raised, her make up slightly smudged and he strap of her dress fallen on her side. "he totally likes you you know" she giggled as the effects of alcohol took its toll. I just rolled my eyes at the comment, although it did feel nice for someone to pay attention to yourself occasionly AUTHORS NOTE: I hope you liked this it is my first time ever writing a fanfiction and If you like this then I would like to start a series to do with Harry and Violet (: x

Love And Laughter - Dinner With A Skeleton

"Wow! Amazing! I-I wish I could d-draw like you!" Alphys exclaimed, staring in awe at the sight. "If you stick around long enough, you may even get to see the finished product as it's being made!" beamed Kirsty. "As much as I'd love Alphys to stay, she better not be too long; me and Kirsty are going-" Frisk said. Kirsty intervened at once, informing her that "it's not 'me and Kirsty'. It's Kirsty and I." "... Yeah. Right. Kirsty and I are going for dinner at the MTT Resort." "Yeah, I'm gettin' kinda bored, sitting around, watching Mettaton. Let's go home, Alphys. I'm gettin' hungry!" Undyne moaned, pulling her lizard lover out of the house. "Oh. I guess I don't really have a choice. B-bye, Kirsty! I hope I s-see you again soon!" Alphys yelled. "Bye, Alphys! Bye, Undyne!" shouted Kirsty, waving goodbye as the door closed with a bang.

"Alright, Ms Kirsty Poppy, we better get ready, 'cause we're not just going for dinner at the Mettaton Resort; we're going with Papyrus and Sans." said Frisk, pulling Kirsty onto her feet. "Oh, cool. I like Papyrus. He's really nice." smiled the girl, letting down her hair and brushing it thoroughly. "I'm glad you like him. You'll probably like Sans, too. He's real funny." the almost teen grinned. "Really? Cool! I like funny people." Kirsty commented. "Well, in that case, let's not waste time talking!"

Soon enough, the humans were in a more formal state, ready for dinner with skeletons. They smelled like lovely lavender, owned two sets each of pearly white gnashers and and had low, tied-back, brown hair.

Frisk took Kirsty through the snow, past several houses, to a nearby river. Hovering on the water was a small boat, just big enough for five people, and on it sat a hooded figure, who spoke, "Tralala. Where to today, humans?" "Hotlands, please." Frisk said, sitting on the boat with Kirsty. "Tralala. Hotlands it is then." the figure replied. The boat took off at a satisfactory speed, right away. "Hotlands?" asked Kirsty. "Yeah. There's the Ruins (where humans fall), Snowdin (where we live), Waterfall (where Undyne lives), Hotlands (where the MTT Resort is) and Tori's Castle (where the queen lives, of course). Hotlands is, obviously, very hot - so you might wanna take off that massive coat - and there lava - try not to fall in." Frisk explained, taking off Kirsty's winter coat. "Alright. Sounds fun."

Soft, tepid waves slowed to a stop as the boat ride shortly ended. Frisk and Kirsty climbed out and thanked the figure kindly. The abrupt change in atmosphere caught Kirsty off guard. She had gone from being so cold that her breath came out in great clouds of smoke like a dragon, shivering as she took each step and watching as she turned into Kirsty The Red-nosed Human to being so hot that she had the sudden urge to strip off completely - which she would have, had there not've been people strolling along the sweltering streets. Kirsty now started to sweat and she took off her GEEK jacket, tying it around her waist.

"Haha!" laughed Frisk. "I told you it was hot!" "I don't think I like this heat." the teen chuckled. "I hope it's not this hot in the resort." "Oh, nah. They're kind enough to have air conditioning." Frisk clarified, giggling happily as her friend breathed a sigh of relief.

The two of them walked along the rocky path, chatting about people and places, dodging the bursts and bubbles of lava that the pools shot at them, making their way towards the hotel - a large, blue building, which read 'MTT' above the glass door. Unprecedented changes in the air became frequent to Kirsty; she made a mental not to always expect the unexpected. The cool breeze from Snowdin had followed her to the resort like a dog to it's caring owner and this fact lifted their spirits (and their coats onto the trustworthy coat hanger near the entrance). Wet from the overflowing Mettaton fountain, the floor they danced over was a perfect, brilliant gold. The only thing terrible about the place was the staff; an orange cat cashier could be seen stealing money from the till, not even trying to be subtle or secretive about it.

Frisk took Kirsty to him, asking if he'd seen two skeletons pass through. He replied with, "Yeah. A tall one and a short one. You with them, little buddy?" "Yeah, we are. Thanks, BP." said Frisk, dragging Kirsty away. "Any time, little buddy." he nodded. "'BP'?" asked the teen. "It stands for Burger Pants. That's what everybody calls 'im. Don't ask why." Frisk chortled. "Well, what's his real name?" "Er... Dunno."

The restaurant had a stage at one wall and a multitude of round tables in a range of sizes. Neat tablecloths were thrown onto them, cutlery set out tidily, chairs tucked in, a single candle on every surface - 'This is certainly a place worth admiring.' thought Kirsty. "There they are!" Frisk pointed out. What with there being only a few people in the room and the monsters in question were having trouble with not standing out, there was really no need to point them out, 'but, whatever floats your boat, I guess.' shrugged Kirsty. "Hey, Papyrus! Hey, Sans!" There, right in front of the stage, sitting next to each other at a table for four, was Papyrus and his brother, Sans.

Papyrus was still in his 'battle body' - a red scarf, red gloves and red boots - a kind of formal outfit. His brother, on the other hand, was quite the opposite - everything-wise, apart from the fact that they're both skeletons, of course. Sans was short and wore a blue hoodie, a white sweater, a pair of black and white, striped shorts and sneakers. He leaned back in his chair, half-asleep, while Papyrus sat politely upright.

When they heard the humans coming, Papyrus waved excitedly. Sans lifted an eyelid, then the other. His eyes - if he had any - widened. "Papyrus," he whispered. "you said she was pretty, but I had no idea she was this...beautiful." "She is, isn't she? Quite a pretty picture." Papyrus nodded in agreement.

The humans took their seats at the table, Kirsty shuffling the cutlery about until she saw it fit her liking. She looked Sans up and down, deciding that he was just another person to add to the Crowd Of Gawping People. "Hello, humans!" grinned Papyrus. "I was wondering when you were going to come." "Sorry if we were late." Frisk apologised. "Actually, I think it was just that they were a bit early." explained Kirsty. "Ah." said Frisk. "Well, in that case, not sorry." "Oh... Um... I didn't... Okay." Kirsty stammered. "Hehe. It's okay. It was a joke, yeah?" said Frisk. "Uh... Yeah." replied Kirsty.

"So, anyway, Kirsty, this is Sans. Sans, this is Kirsty. She's the newest human, but you probably already knew that. Go ahead, Kirsty, shake his hand." urged Frisk, grinning at the skeleton. Sans offered the girl his hand, but she was quick enough to uncover the prank, pointing out a hidden whoopie cushion. "Heh. You're pretty observant, huh?" he laughed, stuffing the failed joke in his pocket and properly shaking her hand, forgetting to let go. "Thanks... Can I have my hand back now?" asked Kirsty, shyly. His grip was firm, yet kind. She almost enjoyed it. "What...? Er... Oh. Yeah, sure." Sans let go, faintly blushing. "Sans!" Papyrus hissed. "Don't embarrass yourself in front of the human! At least try to make a good first impression!" Sans shrugged, staring at his hand.

"Yeah, Sans is pretty good at the jokes. Do you know any good ones?" asked Frisk. "Um... Knock knock." said Kirsty. "Oh, God! Please, don't!" cried Papyrus. "Who's there?" Sans asked, ignoring Papyrus' begging. "To." Kirsty replied. "To who?" "No, it's 'to whom', actually." Frisk and Sans chuckled; Papyrus rolled his eyes, scowling. "That was a good one!" Frisk cheered. "I'm not as good at telling jokes as Sans is. Why don't you tell one?" "Uh... Erm... I..." stuttered Sans, at a loss for words.

However, before he could say anything, his younger brother called to a waiter and ordered the staff to surprise them. He said, crossing his arms, that he "just had to put an end to the disgusting topic", as it was making him more and more uncomfortable.

Papyrus and Frisk then began talking non-stop about food and the cooking lessons with Undyne. Apparently, Undyne and Frisk - but mostly Undyne - had set her whole house ablaze when they were cooking spaghetti together (turns out, the final product wasn't actually half bad). She then had to live with Papyrus and Sans until her house was put back together again. They had a lot of fun. At this point, Kirsty chose to switch off again. She allowed herself to daydream as she waited for an MTT Meal. The imaginative cogs in her brain whirred into motion, running as quick as a nice cube in Hell.

The images of future sleepovers with her future besties, Alphys and Frisk, roamed the vast complexity of her mind. They attacked each other with playful pillow fights, toyed with subjects not to be messed about with, roasted marshmallows over the fire in the lounge, played truth or dare, and talked about cute boys (or girls) they took an interest in, all whilst having a whale of a time - and whales do make some noise, so, of course, they did too. Bang! Slam! Boom! Clap! No one got rest on the nights they spent together (not even them). Was there any better way to have a sleepover with your possible BFFs? Ah, yes! Movies! Now this was a practically perfect party. And, if it wasn't, Kirsty was filled with perseverance to make sure it was.

As her mind wandered, so did her eyes - they, themselves, seemed to have a mind of their own. They drifted about the room, travelling from the ceiling to the floor, from the cutlery to the door, and from one person to the other. Soon, Kirsty found herself staring blankly at Sans, who sat opposite her, staring back. It felt as if they were having a staring contest, but neither really cared for winning. They stayed like this for almost a minute, before Kirsty managed to shake herself out of the magic spell, without stopping to wonder if their moment meant anything.

Frisk found Kirsty sitting on the cream sofa, looking into the fire in her pyjamas. The evening had gone smoothly. The food was delicious and she hadn't spoken much, but how could she when others kept babbling about somewhat unrelated subjects? Sans held her hand on the way to Snowdin, but she no one ever thought anything of it. Papyrus and Frisk held hands, so why couldn't they? Her hair was freely falling down her shoulders, her fringe persistent to veil her sleepy, emerald green eyes. She hugged her knees, mesmerised by the dancing flames, letting out a tired yawn as Frisk sat beside her.

"So, what do you think?" asked the twelve year old. "Of the Underground, I mean." "Good." Kirsty replied. "I'll explore it tomorrow. It seems interesting, all these different places. I bet there'll be different people there... They're all really different...really confident...not afraid to be who they are... That's my favourite part..."

YESSSSSSSS Aizawa and Mic are high school friends so I’m pretty sure it’s canon they waste time together, Blood King and Dog Hound are canon pals too so they also most probs chill together too! Blood King is also the same age as Aizawa and Mic so they probs used to go to school together too!!! And with Dog Hound being 32, Midnight being 31 and Cementoss and Thirteen being 28 they’re more or less all the same age, so I like to think they spend free time together~ some scenes with the teachers make me think they’re good pals with the older ones too, it’s a really fun group of people to be honest!

I like to think Jirou’s got at least basic knowledge for how to play any instrument ever, so when she’s laying around in the common room once she got used to her friends listening to her play she’d bring with herself the smaller and easier ones to carry! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!! thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I think I already answered this question? At some point? But I can’t find it, so in general my take is that I highly doubt Bakugou’s body isn’t built to withstand and not take damage from his own quirk (since his hands are made to hold up with it, I feel like the rest of his body is tailored around his quirk too), but I’m always up for disabled characters and the idea of Bakugou signing is beautiful to me, so I don’t mind the AU one bit! Dunno if I’ll ever draw for it tho, drawing jsl when I don’t know it is hard. I know that from experience.

That said, I do find the fics in which Bakugou becomes deaf because of his quirk a bit hard to believe most of the times? Because in all of them his ears are the only things taking damage for the continuous use of his quirk and I just sit here like, his eyes should be taking damage too. Normal eyes aren’t made to withstand explosions and stun grenades every day all day, so if his ears aren’t biologically made to hold against his quirk his eyes shouldn’t be either.

Like, I read those fics and I find them real hard to believe because the authors aren’t pushing it hard enough, for me it’s either no damage at all or hoh AND visually impaired Bakugou, boy can’t be only half built to withstand his quirk that’d just be silly haha but that’s probably just me, the AU is Good 👍

I love this headcanon???? But also consider, if his boyfriend is Kaminari, Sero’s hair is always super staticky once he’s stopped petting it. Like, his hair just sticks in every direction, it looks super funny. Or, his boyfriend is Bakugou (or his girlfriend is Mina! same scenario plays out) and Sero has to wash his hair after Bakugou/Mina is done because their hands are dangerous and having flammable hair isn’t much fun, Neither is having acid very slowly corroding his scalp Poor boy, three out of four of my fav partners for him are dangerous for his hair haha

You’re not the only one!! That’s one of my favorite things out of bnha and also one of the reasons why I’m such a fan of the adults of the series - not all of them, but most of the guardians have a great grasp on what they should expect out of kids and what they can ask of them and what they should instead keep them away from, which I appreciate a lot. And some of them (Aizawa, Toshinori from some point on, Bakugou’s parents, Fatgum to say some) have a great understanding of the kids they’re responsible for and make decisions based on what’s right while at the same time accomodating the kids’ aspirations and dreams, which is super amazing because it doesn’t negate the fact that even if they’re just kids they’re still people, you know? They talk to them and understand them and act as guardians without clipping their wings, you never see this sort of things in media tbh so I appreciate it a lot

Yeah I’m sure that’s how it went! Well, I was about to say that maybe even if Izuku hadn’t been the last one Aizawa would have let the last one stay anyway since 1A is a pretty impressive class, but the 19th place was Mineta that time so honestly who knows. Maybe we were one step away from not having Mineta in the class and Izuku ruined it for us. Who knows. (lol)

I used to follow the manga! Like, a real long time ago? I think I got up to when we found out that Yukio’s a demon too and then I sorta... dropped it... cause I just... couldn’t stand Shiemi at all... sorry - my faves used to be Shima and Izumo tho!!! I used to love them so much and I still miss them so much that sometimes I seriously consider picking the manga up again just for them hahaha
