Edelgard/F!Shez Headcanons

I just think they would be adorable together: austere emperor and bubbly himbo (F!Shez screams more himbo energy than M!Shez and she seems more authentic to me) that have more in common than they realise.

Spoilers for Scarlet Blaze!

They don’t fall for each other until Edelgard starts to trust Shez.

But Shez may have been crushing on her prior. She’s pretty and full of conviction and can kick her ass--

Arval is unsure what to make of it, but will always scold Shez for being stupid around Edelgard.

Shez: ‘Hey Edelgard--you’re so emperor-y ;)!”

Arval: ‘Why am I stuck with you...?’

If Edelgard needs to relax she can rest the back of her head upon Shez’s breasts. They are akin to the softest pillow. 

Shez loves taking Edelgard on picnics so to loosen her up and totally not be enamoured by her genuine smiles.

Shez had accidentally pulled Edelgard too hard and they have rolled down a hill with Edelgard laughing joyously.

Shez is starstruck.

And being a genius she tickles her to hear more of those melodious laughs.

Totally worth it.

They talk about their mothers and how it feels not having one in their life anymore.

They also talk about the fear of losing those they care for because they have lost those dearest to them.

Shez has tried writing love letters only to flush and scream. When she alerts others she eats the letter. 

Edelgard’s flirts fly over Shez’s head.

Edelgard: ‘Your eyes are like dawn captured in them.’

Shez: ‘Oh thanks :). Your eyes look like lilacs :). I like lilacs :).’

Edelgard greatly appreciates Shez’s honesty and bluntness. Likewise Shez appreciates Edelgard’s frankness too.

They always check upon each other after a battle and sometimes get a bit too close or personal with their touches.

Edelgard was the first to not fear Shez’s Awakened form.

Shez will always appreciate how she came up to her without fear.

They do each other’s hair as both have long hair.

Well did as Shez nearly knotted the emperor’s hair. Never again.

Shez thinks it's hot when Edelgard rams through enemies and shouts ‘get out of my sight’. Arval judges her.

Shez has asked for Dorothea’s advice on the art of flirting, but Dorothea thinks she is too hopeless and Edie too oblivious.

Edelgard spoke with Hubert and Monica about the weird warmth she gets around Shez and for once the two retainers agree upon something: she is an oblivious fool.

When they defeated TWSitD and Rhea in a burst of excitement Shez cupped Edelgard’s cheeks and smooched her.

Then Edelgard returns the kiss and laughs at her stunned reaction.

They are a couple in private. Well, some Black Eagles know.

By some it is all save Caspar.

Shez is super affectionate while Edelgard is affectionate only in private.

Shez loves hugging her (once Edelgard grew accustomed to it), and Edelgard likes resting her hand upon hers at a picnic.

They steal a lot of quick kisses when no one is looking.

Shez cuddles the hell out of her. Hug the small adorable emperor.

When they bear their scars they talk about how they got them.

All you got to do is rock up into the emperor’s tent and ask her out on a picnic—Goddess, that makes it sound romantic; it’s gotta be platonic sounding! Remember you rehearsed this with Arval. Asking out—not in that way, damn it!—Edelgard for a picnic outing is simple. You’ve had tea together a couple of times, you always spar together, you have been her bodyguard for the past two years—surely inviting her for tea is child’s play!

Hopelessly crushing on Edelgard and hoping to let her loose Shez invites her on a date (no, not a date!) a picnic to loosen her guard and talk about how her loyalty her turned into a legitimate dream of sharing her goal.
