The Arab Weekly - US embassy in Baghdad struck with mortars as militia attacks in Iraq and Syria escalate
Approximately seven mortar rounds landed in the US Embassy compound in Baghdad during an attack Friday, a US military official told Reuters, in what appeared to be the largest attack of its kind in recent memory. US forces in Iraq and Syria were also targeted with rockets and drones at least five more times on Friday; three times at separate bases in Syria, and twice at the Ain al-Asad airbase west of Baghdad, a different US defence official said. The attacks were the most recorded against US forces in the region in a single day since mid-October, when Iran-aligned militias started targeting US assets in Iraq and Syria over Washington’s backing of Israel in its war against Hamas in Gaza.
US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin, in a call with Iraq’s Prime Minister Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani, condemned the attacks and singled out Iran-aligned armed groups Kataib Hezbollah and Harakat Hezbollah al Nujaba for the recent targetting of US personnel. “The United States reserves the right to respond decisively against those groups,” Austin told Sudani, according to a Pentagon statement summarising the call. The embassy attack marked the first time it had been fired on in more than a year, apparently widening the range of targets. Dozens of military bases housing US forces have been attacked, increasing fears of a broadening regional conflict.
No group [yet] claimed responsibility[...]
The US military official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, left open the possibility that more projectiles were fired at the embassy compound but did not land within it. The US officials said Friday’s attacks caused no injuries, and the embassy attack caused very minor damage.[...]
State media said the attack damaged the headquarters of an Iraqi security agency. Sheikh Ali Damoush, a senior official in the Lebanese group Hezbollah, said in a Friday sermon that attacks by Iran-aligned groups across the Middle East aim to apply pressure for a halt to Israel’s offensive in the Gaza Strip. He did not refer specifically to Friday’s attack. US forces in Iraq and Syria have been attacked at least 84 times since October 17, the defense official said.
The US has responded with a series of strikes that have killed at least 15 militants in Iraq and up to seven in Syria. The State Department called on the Iraqi security forces to immediately investigate and arrest the perpetrators. “The many Iran-aligned militias that operate freely in Iraq threaten the security and stability of Iraq, our personnel, and our partners in the region,” State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller said in a statement.
“The Iraqi government has repeatedly committed to protect diplomatic missions as well as U.S. military personnel, who are present in the country at Iraq’s invitation. This is non-negotiable, as is our right to self-defence,” Miller added.[...]
[Prime Minister Sudani] said that undermining Iraq’s stability, reputation and targeting places Iraq has committed to protect were acts of terrorism. The head of militia Kata’ib Sayyid al-Shuhada, one of the main factions that has been targeting US forces in the region, said in a social media post that he rejected “stopping or easing operations” while “Zionist crimes continue in Gaza.”
The powerful Iraqi militia Kataeb Hezbollah said on Saturday that the rocket attack on the US embassy in Baghdad was “just the beginning of a new phase of fighting” and threatened to continue “operations against the US occupation” in Iraq.[...]
Kataeb Hezbollah, classified as a terrorist group by Washington, is part of the Islamic Resistance of Iraq militia, which has claimed more than 80 attacks against US posts in Iraq and Syria since the outbreak of the war in Gaza. However, the attack on the US embassy marked a serious escalation of these actions.

If someone wasn't raised as Muslim and chooses to be one they called themselves reverts, is there a specific term for you choosing t be Shiaa?
Not really, a person becomes a Muslim through the act of Shahada (I testify there is no god, but Allah and I testify Muhammad is His messenger). However, which branch of Islam is entirely up to the individual depending on their conviction. But in most cases, most reverts convert to Sunni Islam because of highly centralized focus on Sunnism and the likelihood of being influenced by Sunnis given the fact that they make up the vast majority of the global Muslim population. It's not often you hear about non-Muslims converting to Shi'a Muslim on the spot. Keep in mind that Shi'as are not actively proselytizing.
But most Shi'a reverts may include the third Shahada "...and I testify that Ali (a) is the vicegerent of God" as a formal utterance to their conversion. It's not incumbent upon a Muslim to utter this line to become a Shi'a, but it is a virtuous act nonetheless.

Hello sorry for ask this but I felt lost now this means now that all shiaa shiaa and stuff like she begged an abuser was a play or fake? This clean that part of acusacion on her or ?
Well, the problem was that people ran with this idea that Olivia was trying to get Florence to work with Shia even though Flo was scared of him. But the idea that Florence was scared of him was made up by Olivia in interviews to make herself sound like a hero and a good feminist. Florence and Shia had never met and, as the texts show, they had a perfectly friendly (texting) relationship.
So Olivia decided to take what was legitimately Shia having scheduling conflicts, and make it more juicy so it would make her look good. Suddenly he was fired because of her “no assholes” policy (which probably never existed), and then she embellished it even further by creating this whole lie about how important the safety of the actors is and how Shia didn’t match the “ethos” of her set and blah blah. It was completely self serving and she didn’t expect to be called out.
But Shia brought the receipts. And then it looked like Olivia was trying to get Florence to work with someone she was scared of. But that was completely made up by Olivia. What she was trying to do was work out scheduling conflicts so she didn’t lose her lead actor and possibly the film. She threw Florence under the bus by making her as if she was unprofessional.
However, in order to not look like she was trying to make Florence work with someone she was scared of, Olivia has to admit she was lying about firing him and admit to making up all these stories about him being an asshole on set etc.
So any way you slice it, she’s in a huge mess that she created and she has no one to blame but herself (although I’m sure she’ll try)

🔶🔸Imam Mahdi, may Allah Hasten his reappearance, said: If our Shiaa's (may Allah give them success in obeying Him) hearts are gathered on meeting their obligation, their good fortune of meeting us wouldn't have been delayed, and their joy of seeing us would have been expedited.

Do you think the Yemeni Houthis care about Palestinians, when they don’t even care about their own people?
Allow me as a Yemeni to explain who the Houthis are and why they are attacking Israel.
Their real name is Ansar Allah,
which means
”Supporters of Allah” in Arabic.
Their slogan reads:
God is the Greatest.
Death to America.
Death to Israel.
Curse Upon the Jews.
Victory to Islam…. not a peaceful slogan, if you ask me.
Antisemitism and Islamism lie at the heart of their ideology.
They are Shia Zaidi Muslims.
Shiaa Muslims in Yemen make up around 35% of the population and used to have a lot of political power in Yemen until they were overthrown in the 1960s.
After the Yemeni revolution in 2011, they took over Northern Yemen through a Military Coup, and since then, the Humanitarian Situation has gotten much worse.
More than 21 million Yemenis are in dire need humanitarian of aid according to the European Commission.
The Houthi takeover led to a war with Saudi Arabia, which had a big impact on the country.
The Houthis are a regressive Islamic sect. Like Hamas, they are not recognized as a legitimate authority.
They have passed gender-segregation laws in universities and schools, as well as Islamic tax regulations that discriminate against people who are not a part of Prophet Mohammed's Bloodline.
And today, one year after Saudi Arabia and the Houthis agreed to have a temporary ceasefire from the ongoing war, the Houthis continue to jeopardize the Yemeni people by starting a war with Israel.
Now, the US and many other Countries may be Forced to attack the Houthis, Further Destabilizing Yemen.

America threatens Iran with a retaliatory strike if it moves against Israel in support of Gaza, and American intelligence reveals a disaster Updates on the Al-Aqsa Flood operation presented in this episode of Summary Channel. The beginning is with Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper, which revealed, citing Iraqi sources, that American forces cut “information exchange channels” with Iraqi army leaders stationed with them at the “Ain Al-Assad” base, in light of the recent armed attacks. The sources told Asharq Al-Awsat that the Americans stopped, or greatly restricted, the channels of military information and data that they were exchanging with the Iraqis at a military base in the west of the country.
The sources explained that the American move came after a limited number of faction attacks reached precise targets inside the base, and that “there are precautionary measures in anticipation of more of them.” According to the sources, the Americans believe that their coordinates inside the base are being leaked by a local party to “the party carrying out the attacks.” Commenting on this information, a senior Iraqi officer denied that “the Iraqi forces’ connection in Ain al-Assad has been cut off with American advisors and trainers,” saying: “The training program is continuing at its normal pace.” It was not immediately possible to obtain a comment from the international coalition forces in Iraq. The last attack on the base was last Tuesday, when two drones targeted it with two missiles, which did not result in any injuries or damage, according to Reuters. One day before that, four “Katyusha” rockets were fired from a desert area about 25 kilometers north of the base, while two Iraqi army officials said that the rockets may have fallen far from the base. But Iraqi sources confirmed to Asharq Al-Awsat that one or two attacks caused a more accurate hit than others. Since the start of the war on Gaza, the Ain al-Assad base has been subjected to a series of attacks with drones and missiles, while American concern escalated after a number of these attacks reached unprecedented “accuracy.”
In the same context, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken warned. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said on Sunday that work is underway intensively to reach a humanitarian truce in the Gaza Strip. Blinken added that the humanitarian truce may be an opportunity to bring aid into Gaza and release detainees, noting that the aid entering the Gaza Strip is insufficient. He continued: "We will respond to any threat to our interests in the region, and we do not want a confrontation with Iran." The US Secretary of State made a visit to Baghdad on Sunday, where he met with Iraqi Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani and consulted about the dangers of extending the war between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement. This visit, which was revealed by the Iraqi Prime Minister in a statement, was not announced in advance, for security reasons.
In the context of the US-Iranian Cold War, former US President Donald Trump attacked his direct opponent in the upcoming presidential elections and current President Joe Biden due to Iran's escalatory policies against the United States amid what Trump considers Biden's failure. Trump cited the assassination of Iranian Revolutionary Guard Commander Qassem Soleimani, which he personally supervised during his term, stressing that Iran told him after the killing of Soleimani that it needed to carry out a morale strike with a few missiles against American bases in Iraq, with the promise of causing harm to the soldiers there, as a way to preserve On its prestige in Iraq and in the Middle East in general. #Palestine #Gaza #Iran

Minorities
Today we are talking about minorities,
Who are minorities?
Minorities are a group of people that share a similar ideology, it can be religion, sexual orientation, language, etc…, these people make up less than half the population of a city or country and that’s why they are considered a minority.
For example:
Muslims in China.
Atheists and LGBTQ+ in Egypt
These people are called minorities because they were united under one idea and at the same time they form less than half of the population of the place they live at.
How do minorities form?
Needless to know, minorities have always existed because they aren’t mainly a group of people, it’s an idea shared by these people.
Anyone that goes against the majority is seen as a minority, and since differences have always existed that means minorities never ceased to exist.
Knowing that,
The idea of eliminating a minority to reach societal peace is naive,
Because even though ideas don’t die out, no one can completely eradicate a minority. But let’s assume we actually managed to eliminate an idea, does that mean minorities have ended from that society?
For example,
If we have a Muslim majority and an atheist minority society, and the majority decided to end the atheist ideology that is spreading in society and managed to do so, will that result in a society without minorities?
Keep in mind that differences create minorities and there is no way we can all agree on everything, meaning that minorities will always exist.
Then how will a new minority form? Let me tell you that the new minority that will form will be a Muslim minority because what will happen is this Muslim society will dissociate between Sunni and Shiaa, and the majority will once again prevail over the minority and assuming that the majority in that society will be Sunni Muslims, and they managed to annihilate these mother****ers, another dispute will start between Sunni doctrines and they start to form groups of Hanbali, Mu’tazilies, Ash’ari, Sufism, and Maturidi. And another round of termination begins.
And this is not a prediction of what’s going to happen, history is a witness to this already. Because with the fall of the first minority, just understand that the round of elimination will reach you one day. An example was set by Ali Ibn Abi Talib said: “There were 3 bulls, a black, white and a red bull in the jungle with a lion. The lion approached the red and black bulls and tried to convince them that the white bull’s color is provocative and might attract hunters and there is no longer enough food as before. So if they let the lion eat the white bull, they will get to share all the food and the lion managed to convince them, then went and ate the white bull.
Next, the lion went to the black bull to convince him that the jungle once again doesn’t have enough food as before, and instead of being shared on 2 bulls, the black bull can have it all.
The black bull was convinced and the lion ate the red bull.
A couple of days later the lion went to the black bull, and the moment the black bull saw him he understood and said: “I was eaten the same day the white bull was eaten”.”.
Discrimination Against Minorities
It’s also necessary to know that eliminating minorities isn’t by throwing them out of the country or putting them in a concentration camp as China did with the Muslims of Uyghur.
The call for the eradication and ending of minorities starts with discrimination on minority differences whether it’s color, ethnicity, gender, religion, or sexual orientation.
Discrimination can have different shapes and it begins once someone refuses to do their role towards someone for being homosexual, black, or Muslim and it goes all the way to what Hilter did which was and still is unacceptable.
Our Mission Towards Minorities
That’s when society should take a part in refusing racism and discrimination and to actually defending the rights of minorities and laws must be set that protect minorities from possible discrimination.
Regardless of emotions or instincts that drive us to do so, if you also look at it from an ultimately beneficial point of view, it’s in our own interests to defend minorities ferociously, because remember “The black bull was eaten the day the white bull was”.
And to add, knowing that a system that is built to protect minorities, guarantees your safety if you decided to change your mind about any ideology as we explained recently that you don’t need to change your mind to become a minority you just need disregard the rights of other minorities and your turn will come nevertheless.
And one of the solutions some countries took to fight against the discrimination of minorities is "positive discrimination", which in short, is to give extra privileges to minorities that already suffer from racism based on gender, religion, skin color, etc. and the purpose of this is to equalize the opportunities for minorities that exist in society.
Ever heard the common saying about the difference between justice and equality that only gets said in the context of inheritance in Islam? this concept of justice is a positive discrimination that we aim,
for a form of positive discrimination is the ''quota'' concept, which forces companies and public institutions to employ a certain percentage of these minorities that exist in a society that also gets discriminated against.
positive discrimination is too big of a topic to talk about it all in this video, therefore, we will make an entire episode to further talk about its pros, cons, and overall criticism that we will try to respond to.

I don't know if you would know how to answer this, but how do I perform ghusul as a shiaa and why is it completely different from the way sunnis perform it?
Wash your head
Wash your neck and shoulders
Wash the right side of your body
Wash the left side of your body
or
if you can find a body of water, you can immerse yourself completely in it.
Done, that is how you perform the major ablution
Why it's different is because we follow different traditions from that of our Sunni sibs. Keep in mind, we don't derive ahadith from the Sahih Sittah. Our traditions are derived entirely from the sayings of the Prophetic Household (a), since they're the custodians of the Prophetic traditions.
