My entry for the Halloween Art Contest on DDiscord! 🥳 🎊
Didn't get to polish it up as much as I would like before the deadline (18 characters was a lot), but see if you can spot your fave! 👀

Okay so the one video game I've played and replayed many times is Darkest Dungeon and the degree to which I feel like Anakin has a lot in common with the Shieldbreaker class is driving me kind of insane.
In DD each combat class is essentially a single character, though you can and should have multiples for different missions and levels. Though most of your heroes' names are randomly generated, there is a "default" or "canon" name, and a personality and backstory associated with each of the 17 classes, revealed in game and in a short series of comics viewable on the developer's site.
The Shieldbreaker is a beautiful woman from the desert who was captured and enslaved. After the deaths of her captors, she has a further traumatic experience with a venomous snake and loses one of her arms below the elbow. Having been a dancer during her enslavement, she fights with a fluid grace and precision.
Her dialogue is what most makes me think of Anakin. Sometimes when she scores a critical hit she will say, "I am beyond compare!" And she's right, her strikes can evade guarding and blocking skills and pierce armor in ways unimaginable to any other class.
Stress mechanics in DD are very real and can kill on their own, but the Shieldbreaker's storyline takes this a step further. The first few times you camp with her in your party, her nightmares are real combat encounters wherein the whole party has to fight venomous snakes in areas where there shouldn't be any, and she will take a shitload of stress damage. Not exactly the same as prophetic dreams of loved ones dying but yaknow.
I don't have a big enough brain for a Star Wars and Darkest Dungeon crossover but I wanted to draw the comparison because yeah.

Yes, I call bullshit on Amani's outfit because it plays on the "odalisque" stereotype but also. No one from an arid climate would tolerate the Hamlet's miserable dump of a weather wearing that.
Yes, I know deserts get cold at night. However, that is not remotely the same as a place with regular rain and actual winters. Wet cold sucks because humidity drains the heat from you faster than just about anything. It clings to your clothes and when the windchill hits it gets dangerous real fast. The only people without decent clothes are the guy with eldritch blood and the masochist. Come on.
I briefly considered that one could bullshit some explanation by saying Amani also has special blood from the venom... Except. If she has snake-like characteristics, wouldn't that make her *more* vulnerable to the cold? Snakes are cold-blooded.
Now *that* idea I like. Amani basking in the sun every chance she can, then bundling up to preserve heat. Staying lethargic in winter and getting pumped in summer. Laying down so close to the fireplace others get worried her hair will catch on fire. Let my girl be warm.
