Thank you so much to @idkmanicantenglish for this wonderful idea!
(and for being a great friend)
“Hey Y/N, where’s Tim?” Dick asked you as he joined you in the kitchen where you were leaning against the counter, spooning a bowl of cereal into your mouth.
Dick got his answer when a tiny ‘meow’ rang throughout the kitchen. He poked his head out of the fridge to look at you with confusion, an eyebrow raised. Before he could even begin to question where the sound came from, a certain kitten’s head poked out of your hoodie pocket resting on its two front paws, another mewl coming from its lips.
“He’s been in here since I brushed my teeth this morning.”
Dick chuckled while he poured his own bowl of cereal, “I’m just glad he’s just not getting stuck behind couches or getting trampled on.”
You hummed in agreement and placed your -now empty- bowl into the sink. Just as you were about to walk out of the kitchen you felt tiny paws pad against your stomach, Tim rustling around in your pocket to get your attention.
Dick looked at the pocket curiously until you spoke up, “Can you grab me a can of tuna from the top shelf of the pantry? Tim wants breakfast.”
“Sure thing.” Dick disappeared into the huge pantry, a few clanks resounding around your ears until he popped out of the room and handed you the can you asked for, happily going back to eating his cereal. You mumbled a ‘thanks’ while you rummaged around the drawers to find the can opener, usually Alfred would help in the mornings but he was a little preoccupied at the moment, leaving you to feed the angry kitten.
The second you began to open the can the overwhelming smell of tuna wafted around the kitchen, making Tim’s ears perk up in interest. You cracked the lid all the way open and lifted your hoodie pocket up to allow Tim to crawl out and onto the counter, plopping himself in front of the offending fish and digging in.
You patiently waited for Tim to eat his -disgusting- breakfast, softly petting his back absentmindedly while staring up at the ceiling. You watched as Dick waved a goodbye to you before leaving you and Tim alone together, the soft sound of kitten licks in the air.
“I have to go run some errands today, do you think you’ll be okay if I left you alone with your brothers for a few hours?” A resounding hiss broke past Tim’s lips, his ears pulled back in distaste, tail swooshing wildly.
“Oh don’t be like that. It’s not like I can just carry you into a grocery store without raising suspicion. Plus I’m going to Wayne Enterprises to pick up your paperwork, how do you think the security is gonna react to a black cat following me around?”
Tim sat down and faced you, curling his tail around himself, giving you what you could only assume was his best -Do you think I care?- face. He pawed at your hoodie pocket again, “I am not showing up to a billion dollar company wearing a hoodie.”
You showed up to a billion dollar company wearing a hoodie.
