idk if you're still taking requests but a conversation I had with a friend yesterday resulted in a prompt "what if eren straight up strangled hange at the prison cell" (with a side of protective levi cause he saw the bruises)
Hanji Zoe strode into the dimly lit room, searching for Eren's cell.
Hanji's voice was scarcely above a whisper as she greeted Eren. "I wanted to have a word with you."
Eren Jaeger sat on the uncomfortable mattress, staring intently at the ground. Hanji observed how tense his muscles were and how his hands were balled at his sides.
Eren inquired, his tone bitter, "What do you want?"
Hanji approached them with the intention of closing the distance. "I just wanted to check up on you," she said. "And maybe...discuss some matters with you."
Eren's irises blazed with rage as his head jerked up. "I was betrayed," he sputtered angrily.
Hanji exhaled, anticipating the challenge of what was about to be discussed. “It was a tough decision,” she told Eren. “We had no other choice, you were a danger to society.”
Eren's pupils shrank. He hissed at her, "You're all cowards. The reality was too much for you to bear, so you put me in jail.”
Hanji advanced further, her hand still extended in a conciliatory motion. "Eren, can we talk about this for a second?"
Before Hanji could complete her thought, Eren pounced, his arms wrapping around Hanji's neck. She heaved a sigh of relief and struggled to free her wrists from Eren's hold, but he was too powerful.
Hearing the disturbance inside, Levi, who was patiently waiting outside, rushed in with his knives drawn.
When he saw Eren strangling Hanji, he acted immediately.
“Let her go, Jaeger” he screamed. Opening the cell door, he aggresively pulled Eren’s hands off Hanji and tackled him to the ground.
Eren retaliated with everything in him, but Levi was too swift and strong for him. With his blade at Eren's neck, he managed to pin him down.
Levi growled, "You son of a bitch."
Eren's eyes were wide with anger as he glared up at Levi. He hissed, "You don't understand. For the sake of mankind, I had no choice."
Levi's hand clenched around the knife. "I don't give a damn about your excuses," he berated. “You put your fucking hands on Hanji.”
Levi didn't recoil as Eren spat in his face.
Silence washed over the two.
Hanji coughed in the background, bringing Levi back to reality. He drowned in anger that he did not notice Hanji on the ground, coughing and heaving.
For a second, Levi listened to Hanji breathe heavily. Making sure she was okay.
And then he threw a punch at Eren. Hanji let out another labored breath. Another punch at Eren.
Despite Eren's grunts, Levi continued. He continued to throw heavy punches, repeatedly striking Eren until the latter was a gory mess on the floor.
Hanji, who had finally recovered, gasped as she saw Levi launch an assault on Eren. Though she understood that he meant well, the constant threats of violence were too much for her to endure.
Her voice trembled as she pleaded, “Levi, stop!”
Levi paused, his gaze darting to Hanji's bruised neck. Realizing he had allowed his temper to get the better of him, a wave of regret washed over him. He grabbed Eren by his collar, and threw him to the wall.
Walking out, and locking the cell. Levi offered his hand to Hanji.
“That was a warning, Jaeger.” The soldier spoke, guiding Hanji out the room.
The two walked in silence until they reached Hanji’s office. Levi gently ushered the brunette to sit.
“I lost it,” Levi admitted.
“Yes,” Hanji said sternly. “That was so irresponsible of you.”
Levi hung his head low, avoiding her gaze. He did not want to see the disappointment plastered on Hanji’s face.
The scientist raised his head with both her warm hands, “thank you. I understand you were looking out for me.”
Levi looked up at her eyes, feeling warmth surge through his body. He trailed his eyes down to her neck, seeing the bruises. Levi felt the hairs on his skin stand. God, did he want to hurt Eren even more badly with it. If anyone else were to ever lay their hands on Hanji like that again, heaven forbid Levi go into a frenzy.
Every nerve in his body craved nothing but her safety and happiness.
She was like morphine to him.
“No one can hurt you for as long as I am here,” he promised.
Hanji chuckled, “I have Humanity’s strongest soldier protecting me?” She caressed his cheek, “I must have done something so good in my past life to deserve you.”
He traced her face like constellations with his eyes.
He must save humanity in this life to deserve another life with her.

From Darkness We Flee
Chapter Six: Silent Companions
Warnings: canon typical violence, canon typical angst
Characters: Zakai Eriko, Eren Yeager, Ymir
Word Count: 1.3k
Zakai had grown to enjoy sparring, it was a comfort. A way to get her thoughts and feelings out without blowing up. Zakai could remember seeing her aunt train all the time, she eventually asked to join. It became a habit back then, something that connected her to someone else. Now it was a form of avoidance. Zakai didn't want to acknowledge that Bertholdt and, especially, Reiner had gotten under her skin and shifted the comfort in the familiar to a level of unease Zakai scarcely felt before. Eren, in particular, was fun to spar with. Eren saw the same urgency in earning freedom as she once had, she saw a genuine desire in his eyes. It wasn't just about revenge, his hope for the future was there too. Zakai enjoyed Eren's presence.
"Geez, you could go easy. You and Annie, I swear." Eren huffed.
Zakai looked down at Eren, offering him a hand and pulling him up. "Yeah. I was lost in thought." Zakai admitted, glancing away. "You get that way too, don't you?"
Eren was quiet for a moment, "Kind of? Never been that good before though. This about that whole deal with Reiner? A week ago?"
Zakai scoffed, rolling her eyes. "Hardly. Jean thought that, too."
The brunette boy offered a weak, half-smile, "Yeah. Whatever you say, I just think its pretty dumb to get caught up with shit like that when we could die once we're soldiers."
The teenager sighed, Eren did have a point. At least, he would've. It was different for her, for Reiner and Bertholdt. Hell, even different for Annie. "You're a hypocrite, Yeager. If I'm dumb then so are you and Pretty Boy." She retorted with another scoff, "Besides, dumb or not… It's Complicated." Zakai admitted, rubbing her hand against the back of her neck.
Eren groaned, "You sound like Mikasa. All her "stop fighting" bullshit."
Zakai chuckled, "Mikasa is a smart girl. Listen to her a little more."
Zakai didn't pay attention to whatever it was Eren had said next. No, she was distracted. Her eyes fell on the two tallest of the Training Corps. It was ironic, wasn't it? The two tallest and they were both massive titans hellbent on the destruction of the Walls. Those grey eyes fell onto the two, Reiner was laughing and joking and being so damn friendly with Jean and Connie. It wasn't much of a surprise, really. Bertholdt was only following Reiner. Again, not surprising. Zakai had spent her time avoiding yet remaining observant of them. Zakai was jostled out of her thoughts by an impatient Eren.
"Did you hear me? Geez, you're so bad about that whole zoning out there today." Eren's tone was lighthearted even as his words betrayed his annoyance.
Zakai looked up at the taller brunette, "Yeah. You're right." Zakai hummed, "It is dumb."
"Gonna talk to him then?" Eren asked.
She shook her head, "All I did was agree that it was dumb. Not that I was smart about that petty shit." Zakai paused, "Go on ahead, I need a few moments to think about that."
Eren seemed almost discouraged, furrowing his brows and sighing. "I'll never get you, Zakai, honestly." With that, Eren made his departure. Zakai blinked slowly, watching him jog up to Reiner, Bertholdt, Jean, and Connie. Zakai didn't blame him for not understanding. After all, a caterpillar can hardly understand a bee. That's what Eren was to her. A caterpillar with so much to learn about this world they shared with one another. In fact, Zakai didn't truly understand him either. What point was freedom if it only hurt to maintain? Zakai was content enough to just exist within the Walls, for the most part. Well, she had been content. Her expression turned sour, narrowing her eyes into a glare as she recalled that day. She had at least gotten early warning, helped to the boats before anything could get to her, then her so-called "mother" ran back into that hell, trying to help as many as she could. Zakai could remember the death, the anguish, the fear. All because of Bertholdt and Reiner.
Zakai shook her head, that didn't matter. It didn't matter what they did, Zakai would survive. No matter what. She had to, she promised her that she'd survive.
Zakai couldn’t help but watch the group. She watched how Reiner pulled Eren close, ruffling his hair with a loud laugh. Zakai remembered exactly what that seemed like. Who that seemed like. Zakai closed her eyes, recalling a face that hurt to remember before shaking her head again. Zakai turned away, dismissing those thoughts, and hurried off. The brunette pushed her hair out of her face for once, her mind was occupied. Those days were painful to think about now, faces that likely paid the price for her own foolishness. Names of family members forever lost to time now. There was nothing anyone could say to convince her otherwise. Zakai had a mission. Zakai made a promise. Zakai could no longer fail.
The brunette cadet ended up near the forest, the same forest that surrounded the training grounds. She stepped past the perimeter, letting a hand softly brush against the bark of a tree as she considered what everything meant. What was Reiner planning? Why was he so different? Most importantly, when did Reiner become the leader and why did she hesitate to beat Bertholdt into the ground awhile back? Zakai could hardly press them for questions as to what happened, they were no doubt here to reclaim her. To steal her away, into a life short as could by the knife of misery. Zakai felt the soft breeze, much better than the dry heat from a few weeks ago when she broke down in these very woods. Zakai pressed her back against the harsh bark of another tree, sliding down with little care as to the scrapes and cuts it no doubt gave her back and simply sat with a small thud. Zakai closed her eyes, letting the sounds of the wooded area drift past. There was always so much stress after having learned that her tormentors were here after all. Zakai couldn’t just run again. Lost in thought, she didn’t hear the footsteps approaching until she felt the bread fall into her lap. Zakai’s eyes shot open, Ymir was standing above her with that trademark smirk.
“You owe me now.” Ymir stated, dropping the canteen in the fellow cadet’s lap, “All I could stand to take without Shadis catching me but it should be more than enough.”
Zakai watched Ymir sit beside her, looking out towards the training grounds while Zakai stared at her lap with a sizable piece of, albeit stale, bread and the canteen of water. Zakai huffed, narrowing her eyes yet didn’t question Ymir’s motives for once. No, instead Zakai merely accepted what Ymir had done and nodded her thanks, taking a chug of the water before starting to eat the dry bread. Somehow, despite everything she thought of Ymir, that was the best meal she had in days. Some stale bread and simple water. Once Zakai was finished, she looked to Ymir who was simply observing the sky.
“... Shadis is going to kick our asses if we both keep acting weak.” Zakai remarked.
“Then stop.” Ymir bluntly stated, “Stop acting and just show your strength.”
Zakai thought for a minute before shaking her head, “I can’t.”
“Me too.” Ymir admired.
Zakai accepted the silence after that, the both of them silent and at peace in that silence. Zakai was sure Ymir was thinking about her own turmoil but she wasn’t entirely certain what that might be. What did Ymir stress and grieve over? Zakai only silently pondered that question without entertaining it enough to actually vocalize her curiosities about the strange, brash soldier that accompanied her this afternoon while everyone else strayed far from Zakai. Zakai didn’t mind her presence for once, simply watching the sky with Ymir during the rare quiet moment. It didn’t need to be full of joking and ribbing one another. No, Zakai could simply exist in this moment even when once it was over, she’d be right back to silently plotting against everyone for her own benefit.

The return...
So after several years, I had the urge for no real reason to start using Tumblr again. Who knows why!
I'm still into Shingeko, but also reallyyy got into Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul this summer. Took me way too long to watch them. Walter White is pretty much what I wanted for Eren Yeager. 💀

My review on ch.139
So...After settling my own thoughts down and rereading the chapter, I would like to give my full feedback on it.
Overall, I would give the chapter itself 8.5/10. Personally, it wasn't the best chapter of the entire manga, because I would like to have a bit more answers to some questions, but it will definitely stay in my heart as one of the most emotional chapters.
As for the manga itself, I can give my full 10/10, because even though I couldn't enjoy the story from the very beginning, it greatly influenced on my views on life, wars and people. Attack on Titan gave me a rollercoaster of emotions from ugly crying and praying for every character to hysterically laughing at some occasional jokes and situations.
I think this ending wasn't't perfect or ideal, because the variation of people's wants in our fandom is astonishing and if one ending would be satisfying for some, it also would be unsatisfying for others. So I like the neutrality and ambiguity of this ending, because in my opinion, it gives freedom for readers' imagination, and doesn't necessarily dictates whose views were correct and whose not.
Other than that, people needs to understand that what characters were fighting for was a change. As soldiers, they wanted to liberate the humanity from walls and titans and many sacrificed their lives for that goal. As the alliance, they wanted to stop Eren from going further and, again, they wanted a change. They wanted this situation to change and stop.
So now let me move on to the separate parts of this chapter.
Armin and Eren's talk.
This part of the chapter was truly beautiful. I loved how we could get a chance to see the talk between Armin and Eren for the last time (even as bitter as it sounds like). It truly showed that at the end of the day...they are still 19 y/o boys who once shared a common dream of seeing the world together. The fate was cruel on them too and their ways got separated, but even like this...they still remained close to each other. Armin was one of few people who understood Eren and has never really turned his back on him. He knew that everything Eren said to them back in time were nothing but plain lies. He knew that Eren is trying to protect them and he is on their side. Armin, too, was beside Eren and believed that he is still a human being even if he was against rumbling.
Tumblr media
I saw some people being...confused about Armin thanking Eren for becoming a mass murderer for their sake, but the thing is...was Armin happy about Eren becoming a mass murderer? No, he sincerely wanted to stop him. But as a person, Armin searches for the meaning and reason behind people's actions. He knew that Eren is somehow on their side, but he couldn't comprehend why Eren is doing this.
The main point is that...Eren himself can't quite point out why he is doing this. His personal goal to achieve "freedom" was mixed with his urges to protect his friends, the burden of the future he saw and circumstances that he couldn't escape. Eren always chased his idealized concept of freedom that practically can't exist. His "freedom" was absolute, boundless and childish. It was simply something that Eren himself hasn't experienced, but yet wanted so bad.
But the tragedy of Eren's character isn't his death, but simply that he neglected his own happiness and gave his goal more value than anything he could have in life. He wanted to be alive, live among his friends and love the person he loves as if there's no tomorrow, but he simply couldn't get both. Eren couldn't win in any case. He wouldn't be happy knowing that his and other shifters' lives will end within several years. He wouldn't be happy living in this world, because the society would treat him either as a hero or villain, and his life would again be full of regrets and burden. He wouldn't be happy living with Mikasa, because he wants to spend as much time with her as possible and he would be unhappy knowing that she will be left behind.
What Eren actually needed wasn't his "freedom", but simply a realization that he could be happy if he lived in the moment, but, again, Eren's destiny was always death that he both chose and was destined to face.
Tumblr media
Armin thanked Eren not because he thought that his decisions were right, but because of the attempt he made to free his people. The attempt wasn't good or morally right, but at the end, Eren's personal sacrifices and the sacrifices of other people led them to the moment when Eldians became normal people.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eren always portrayed negative concepts such as revenge and recklessness unlike Armin and Mikasa who were symbols of hope and pride. He wasn't the hero of his own story and his actions were never meant to be viewed as right and morally correct ones. On the contrary, Eren was so wrong, but despite of what kind of person he was, Eren beautifully loved and was loved back no matter what the destiny has prepared for him.
Mikasa.
Mikasa's destiny was tragic as the life of the person she loved. She couldn't win either, because she also couldn't escape Eren decision and fate. Eren was destined to die and even how hard she tried to brush up those thoughts off, from time to time, from situation to situation...Eren was on the verge of death and even if she tried to save him again and again...At the very end, Eren died from her own hands. But...nevertheless, it made Ymir, who was "living" in the agony of "love" for 2000 years, smile and feel free.
She also wished they could have more time and that the circumstances were softer on them. Mikasa has never demanded Eren to love her back nor she herself didn't try to prove him something. What she ever wished for was to stay by his side and nothing more or less.
But that doesn't mean that she was okay with what he did. No, she opposed him and simply accepted that Eren is also a cruel and reckless person. She knew that, but still continued to love him with all his flaws and shortcomings.
Their love wasn't perfect, but it made both of them more human. Love showed that even how stoic and cold Mikasa might appear, deep inside...she was always a caring and soft person. Love became Mikasa's motivation and the main source of her strength. Just because she continued to love and fight, Mikasa could save the humanity from the dark future awaited.
She already has lost Eren once back in Trost. Yes, she was heartbroken, but she continued to stand for herself and fight. As long as she is alive, the memory of Eren that was her most beloved and dear won't die and will continue to exist even if the rest of the world will view him as a hero and villain.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
She had to give up on the person she loved, but that doesn't mean that Mikasa gave up on herself. She will continue to live, because no matter how cruel the world was on her, there always was the beauty and reason to live with or without Eren.
Tumblr media
The situation with Paradis.
This one is very debatable and interesting, because it's very ambiguous. There are two sides to this stance.
From one side, it showed how much influence Eren had over people on the island and I find it realistic that it didn't disappear. Yeagerists, no matter how ridiculous and wrong they were, they could take over the military and the island.
But from the other side, I can't say they were totally wrong by supporting Yeager bothers, because in the end...both Zeke and Eren's sacrifices brought something new to this world.
I don't think that the debate over who was wrong or right will end, because Isayama himself left it open as possible and I think that it was the right decision, because the political issues can continue for decades and centuries, and as Armin said just because titans perished doesn't necessarily secure them a war-free life for the rest of their lives. Of course, it gave them a lot of opportunities to grow and develop, but if they continue to move forward and fight, maybe...someday Paradis will actually reach the peace everyone dreamed about.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think we all can agree that even if the ending wasn't what everyone desired, Attack on Titan is the story that introduced so many amazing openings, endings and OSTs. I have met a lot of great people and I am very grateful for that.
Attack on Titan taught us that living in cruel and beautiful world, where people need to fight to survive and save their loved ones, means that they constantly need to make choices and sacrifices to change the world for better, but they also need to bear the responsibilities for their actions no matter what kind of consequences the actions can bring. No matter what choice they make, they need to choose the one that they will regret the least.
Thank you, Hajime Isayama.
