I’m not shocked by that. The implication in the game was obvious, the SD Perry novel was as overt about them as possible.

But what’s hilarious/creepy is how this changes the context of the live action re-enacted scene in Welcome to Raccoon City

Cos Birkin is there with them. And it pans to him smirking. Right around the moment we now know in canon they are kissing.

Like good lord this whole scene was already more creepy with the insertion of Birkin, but now the added context of what he’s looking pleased at?! Oy!

In a pleasant redemption arc, God Hand is absolutely as good as the hypebeasts say it is. I don't know why I was able to gel with it this time around when I couldn't all those years ago- I'm gonna chalk it up to "better understanding of beat 'em ups as a genre" and "the SsethTzeentach video"- but it's kind of stunning to me that nothing has tried to make another 3D beat 'em up in the spirit of God Hand.
