Okay, I think my request is weird? I don't know haha. It's my first time doing this😔
The other day I imagined a reader being a demon who saved a little girl from her own abusive family and the reader tries to find a home for the little girl, but she couldn't, so she ends up adopting her.
But, after some time, Shinobu Kocho finds the demon and, of course, tries to kill attack the reader, but the reader doesn't attack back. Anyway, when she was going to kill the demon, the little girl stopped her. Shinobu didn't understand what was going on.
Anyway, when Shinobu understands what kind of relationship the demon has with the kid, she decides to protect them (with the excuse of protecting the kid, actually, because she didn't trust the demon at all) and eventually falls in love with the demon.
Sorry, first time doing this haha! I love your writing!
A Home
Shinobu Kochou x She/Her Demon Reader
A/N: Not a weird request, it was cute! Sorry for the lack of updates y’all, idk what’s wrong with me. I just don’t have the energy. Here’s one thing at least. Sorry if it seems too jumpy/fast between breaks, it was getting longer than what I’d prefer to do these days. Hope you enjoy, thanks for reading, and thank you all for being patient with me! Word Count: ~4,750
“That’s right, Sachiko, go on.” (Y/n) ushered the young child towards the lantern lit house. “Go knock on the door.”
The little girl took a few cautious steps further along the path to the house before looking back at (Y/n), unsure.
“You can do it, they’re nice people. You’ll be happy here.” She continued to coach her from the bushes.
This pattern continued a couple more times until the little girl made it to the front door.
“Good job, sweetheart! Now just knock on the door like we practiced…”
Sachiko looked at (Y/n) over her shoulder, her eyes were big and her bottom lip wobbled.
“Go on…” (Y/n) nodded, smiling reassuringly.
Finally Sachiko knocked timidly on the door, patchy blanket clutched against her little body, and (Y/n) released a sigh of relief when her sharp ears picked up on a stirring within the house.
“Onee-san?” Sachiko’s voice quivered stepping away from the door when she saw (Y/n) slinking back into the woods.
“It’s time to part ways, you’ll be happy and well taken care of here.” (Y/n) could hear a familiar hitch in Sachiko’s breathing, hear her little girl’s heart speed up fearfully, and that could only mean one thing… “No, nonono, no tears sweetheart, please? Not again.”
But it was too late, Sachiko started sobbing. (Y/n) tried her best to comfort her from afar while also attempting to direct her back to the house.
“What’s going on out here?” A concerned man slid the door open fast, making a loud clacking noise that only made Sachiko cry louder, running away from the man and in the direction of the woods, the direction of (Y/n).
“Who is it dear?” The man’s wife joined him at the door, lantern in hand. She aimed the lantern’s light into the woods and caught sight of the little girl running right into the arms of what appeared to her to be a monster. A humanoid beast with curved horns and sharp teeth, reflective, piercing eyes.
The woman shrieked, flinging the lantern away and grabbing her husband by the collar, practically dragging him back into the house, slamming the door shut. (Y/n) could hear the sound of heavy furniture dragging across the floor inside and she sighed deeply.
“Alright, alright… come here.” She picked up the sobbing girl, tears and snot immediately staining her neck and shoulder, little fingers clutching her for dear life.
“You were gonna try and leave me again!” Sachiko wailed as (Y/n) carried her through the forest.
“It’s for your own good, Sachiko. I’m only trying to do what’s best for you.”
“No!”
(Y/n) sighed again. This had been her seventh attempt at re-homing Sachiko since she rescued the little girl from her abusive home. It was no easy task vetting out potential families looking as fearsome as she did. One would think the little girl would leap at the chance of a normal, loving family, but no, she always came running back to the demon each time.
“It’s not safe for you to be with me, Sachiko. Don’t you want the certainty of a roof over your head, food, medicine… to be able to play with other kids on a sunny day?” (Y/n) beseeched the girl each time to see reason, but each time, Sachiko refused.
“I like sleeping outside with you. You gave me a name and you give me lots of food and hugs and you scare all the bad things away. You’re all I need, Onee-san.”
(Y/n)’s heart clenched an the sweet sentiment, but this was no environment for a child to grow up in. She’d have to search for another viable family and try again, but for now, she would need to find a yet another suitable place for Sachiko to sleep and for her to avoid the morning sun.
“Besides, medicine is icky!” Sachiko grumbled.
An exhausted chuckle left (Y/n)’s lips and they carried on, eventually finding a cave. (Y/n) scoped it out for any dangerous creatures before bringing Sachiko inside. She then used the remaining darkness to gather a bunch of leaves, sticks and even a few fish from the stream.
She made a little bed from the leaves topped with the raggedy blanket she had snatched for Sachiko a couple months ago. It had been brand new at the time, but between the weather and the traveling, it had seen better days. Sachiko adamantly refused (Y/n)’s attempts to get her a new one, however.
(Y/n) then made a little fire, cooking the fish over the flames. After awhile, she carefully inspected one, gently fanning it to cool it off before handing it off to Sachiko.
“Careful, it’s still a little hot.”
“Yummy, fish again!”
(Y/n) felt a bolt of shame strike through her body despite Sachiko’s genuine excitement.
“We’ll be in the city in a couple of days and I’ll get you all kinds of good food, alright?”
“Onee-san is gonna steal again.” Sachiko more so stating a fact than asking a question. She took another bite of the crispy fish.
“N-no! Stealing is bad! What I’m doing is just… really long-term borrowing! Yeah!”
“Oh, okay.” Sachiko said, not at all bothered.
(Y/n) felt awful for lying, but she was trying her best to instill good values in the poor girl whilst also keeping her alive. It wasn’t like she had money, and she certainly wasn’t going to be getting any job offers looking the way that she did. Stealing was the only viable option.
When Sachiko finished her fish, she curled up on her leafy bed and (Y/n) tucked her within the raggedy blanket. The demon recited a little bedtime story that she had made up. It was one of Sachiko’s favorites. Before she could finish, the little girl fell asleep and (Y/n) spent most of the day that followed watching over her, making sure she didn’t seem too cold or uncomfortable.
***
“Yes… Yes! everything I need is right here.” The demon whispered to herself over her bag of stolen goods. They had been caught in an unexpected rain a few nights ago and Sachiko had gotten sick. (Y/n) had fretted over whether or not she could leave the little girl alone or not, but the fever Sachiko had was growing more concerning by the hour, so the demon finally decided to slip out of the cave one night as the little girl slept fitfully. She covered the cave’s entrance and left for the nearest village as fast as she could and broke into a general store.
She filled a bag to the brim with medicines, foods and drinks and slunk back out of the dark store’s open window and ran off into the night as quick as her feet could carry her.
“Almost there, hang on just a little longer.”
She ran, unaware of her pursuer sailing through the trees above until—
A foot was planted squarely between her shoulder blades, the force causing her to tumble to the ground, her bag of stolen goods scattered across the forest floor in front of her. She tried to scrambled to her knees to start shoveling everything back into the canvas bag, but the foot between her shoulders doubled down its force and another foot planted itself squarely on her lower back.
“I thought I sensed a demon in the area.” A pleasant sounding voice stated from above. “But what is all this here now?”
Shinobu’s eyes scanned the array of items splayed over the ground and felt an extra tick of annoyance rise within her. If she wasn’t already putting all of her body weight on the demon, she’d add a bit more pressure.
“Food, water, medicine… what could a demon possibly need such things for? You creatures always manage to find new ways to surprise me. It’s not enough to slaughter humans, must you also feel the need to waste perfectly good food and medication?”
(Y/n) tilted her head to the side, breath hitching when when she saw the point of a blade resting dangerously close to her eye. Above her, backlit by the moon, she saw a woman wearing a seemingly neutral smile, though (Y/n) could sense the terrifying aura she gave off. Then she caught sight of the gold buttons, the durable dark clothing she wore, white collar and welt pocket. She imagined if she could check, she would also see that the kanji for ‘extermination’ would be written upon the back of the woman’s uniform. (Y/n) had done well to avoid demon slayers until now and as her luck would have it, she had been found by a Hashira of all people.
“No, wait,” (Y/n) pleaded. “There is somewhere I have to be. There is a little girl who desperately needs that medicine. If you would let me show you—”
“Oh, one of those demons, are you?” Shinobu interrupted. “I always find the demons who toy with peoples’ lives for longer than necessary to be the most detestable. But I’m feeling surprisingly generous tonight, so if you tell me where this little girl is, I’ll use one of my more ‘gentle’ poisons on you.”
“She’s in a cave not too far from here, maybe half a kilometer at most, eastward, by the stream. I covered the entrance with woven sticks and leaves.” (Y/n) shared, voice shaking, “Please just… just make sure she’s well taken care of.” She closed her eyes tight. Was this really it? It was all happening so fast.
“Thank you for being so forthcoming, how admirable.” Shinobu praised, thought it did not feel sincere to (Y/n) in the slightest. “Now, to ensure you aren’t lying, I’ll be poisoning you within an inch of your life. If I do find this girl you speak of, then I shall make my swift return to finish you off, alright?”
(Y/n) took in a shaky breath, shutting her eyes tightly as she waited for the strike. She prayed Sachiko would not see whatever may be left of her after this…
With a fanciful flourish of her sword, Shinobu took aim at the back of the demon’s neck and—
“Onee-san!”
A shrill voice wailed, freezing Shinobu’s very blood in her veins, causing her to hesitate. The hesitation giving Sachiko enough time to half run, half stumble over to the scene and cover the back of (Y/n)’s head and neck with her whole body.
Defiant, teary eyes glared up at Shinobu as if she were the root of all evil.
“Stop bullying my Onee-san!” Sachiko punched Shinobu in the knee with enough force to make Shinobu at least wince and take one foot off of (Y/n)’s back. “You mean old ugly hag!”
Shinobu blinked, her neutral smile twitched ever so slightly.
“Sachiko!” (Y/n) gasped, forgetting all about her pending execution, “You can’t say things like that!”
“I don’t care!” Sachiko wailed, “She’s—“ Sachiko broke into an awful coughing fit.
“Sachiko!” (Y/n) tried to get up on impulse.
“Don’t move, or you won’t live another second.” Shinobu warned the demon before putting her attention back on the little girl, her other foot finally leaving (Y/n)’s back. “Come here, let me see you.”
“No!” Sachiko refused, still kneeling protectively over (Y/n).
“Listen here, little one. I don’t know what this demon has told you, but you are not safe with her.”
“Uh uh! If I didn’t meet Onee-san, I’d still be getting hits and rumbly tummies and bad sleeps! —Hey!”
Shinobu put the back of her hand on Sachiko’s forehead, more focused on checking the girl over than listening to her rebuttals.
“You’re burning up.” She murmured with concern, the she turned a glare onto (Y/n). “These cheap remedies aren’t going to do her any good. She needs a doctor, fortunately I am more than qualified. Come little one,” Shinobu opened her arms to pick Sachiko up, putting on her best motherly smile, “I’ll take you to my home and make you feel much better.”
“I’m not going anywhere with you! No touch!”
“Just— ah!”
Sachiko bit Shinobu’s hand and the Hashira held her indented palm to her chest, a string of expletives griping the edge of her tongue for dear life.
“Enough! That’s enough foolishness!” Shinobu nearly hissed once she had recovered enough of her mask to not cuss out a child. “Demon, stand. Now.”
(Y/n) found it in her best interest to quickly clamber to her feet, but not so quickly as to earn cause for impalement.
“Obviously the child’s life comes first. I will do everything I can to save her, and if that means working with you, then so be it. Carry her and follow me. Just remember that I’m much faster than you. Try anything, move one toe out of line, and you’re done, understand?”
“Yes, ma’am!” (Y/n) squeaked. “Come here, sweetheart.” She picked up Sachiko and the girl squirmed in her arms.
“No! We can’t go! Stranger danger, Onee-san! You said never go somewhere with a stranger!”
“Yes, but—“
“Kochou Shinobu.” The Hashira introduced herself. “And I’ve gathered your name is Sachiko, correct? We are strangers no more.”
“Shinobu… bu… boo! Boo!” Sachiko jeered.
“I’m sorry.” (Y/n) apologized to Shinobu in a strained whisper.
“Just start moving.”
(Y/n) looked back at the toppled bag of goods, “What about—“
“Time is of the essence. Keep up.”
And so the demon ran beside the Hashira, both focusing on the same goal.
***
They were cutting it very close, making it to the Butterfly Estate just before dawn. Sachiko had passed out in (Y/n)’s arms along the way so no fuss was made when (Y/n) was made to hand her over to Shinobu.
(Y/n) was then sequestered to a room in the furthest corner of the the estate by another butterfly girl with a white cloak. Another demon slayer to make sure she didn’t step out of line while Shinobu was tending to Sachiko, (Y/n) would have to guess. Only guess because her attempts to create small talk with the girl were met with silence.
A few hours past before Shinobu decided to come to the room with an update and (Y/n) had to stop herself from running up to her, grabbing her by the arms, and begging for all of the details.
“Her fever broke and she’s stable. She’ll be fine as long as she rests.”
“Oh,” (Y/n) put a hand on her chest, unshed tears shinning in her eyes, “thank you so much. I don’t know what I would have done without your help. I’m so glad you found us.”
“That would be the first time a demon has ever said that to me.” Shinobu said, seemingly unmoved by (Y/n)’s emotional display.
“Can I see her?”
“Absolutely not.” Shinobu shook her head. “We have a lot to discuss, you and I.”
The combined intense stares of Shinobu and Kanao made (Y/n) shudder involuntarily.
Oh Sachiko, I have found a safe haven, a home, for you, but for me, these are quite dire straits…
***
After hours of intensive questioning, Shinobu was finally interrupted by Aoi knocking on the door. Kanao let her in and the exasperation on the girl’s face was visible to all.
“Our new arrival is awake and currently screaming her lungs out. We’re doing everything we can just short of sedating her, Shinobu-sama, but she won’t calm unless her demands are met.”
“She wants to see the demon, I presume.” Shinobu sighed, giving (Y/n) a sideways glance.
“Yes, but she’s also screaming about a blanket.”
“Oh dear,” (Y/n) pressed her hand to her cheek, “I completely forgot about it in the heat of the moment! It’s still in that cave!”
“Supply her with a new one please, Aoi.” Shinobu asked.
“Believe me, we tried, Shinobu-sama, but she tossed all the options we provided her with aside. She won’t accept a new one.”
“That girl…” Shinobu sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose.
“I can go retrieve the blanket.” (Y/n) offered. “I think I could find my way back.”
“Do you honestly believe I would go along with that?”
“You could come with me if you think I’ll run off. Trust me, you’ll want that blanket. I have tried to replace it numerous times, but her persistence and lung capacity is stronger than my will.”
Shinobu stood silent for a moment before sighing quietly. “Very well then…“
***
Once night fell again, Shinobu and (Y/n) set off, (Y/n) still had not been allowed to see Sachiko, they could still hear the girl’s wails as they left the estate.
“If you would have just let her see me, I’m sure she would have calmed down a little…”
Shinobu ignored her and forged onward. Her pride was actually a bit bruised from this whole ordeal. Kids loved her. They flocked to her for comfort. The irony of this single child not only despising her, but also desperately wanting the comfort of a demon, was not the least bit lost on her, and she was not at all happy about it. This has to be some kind of demon art, right? But if that was true, then surely the demon would have tried to pull the same tricks with her, even going as far as to sever whatever hold she had over the child to switch for Shinobu if such a power could only work on one person at a time.
Shinobu pondered deeply until they made it to the cave, (Y/n)’s ‘aha!’ of triumph breaking her out of her thoughts.
“I found it, thank goodness. Gods… it could sure use a wash though.”
Shinobu couldn’t help but agree.
“It looks like it’ll fall apart if washed, however.”
“Yeah…” (Y/n) walked over to a nearby stream and placed the ragged blanket in the water. She then began gently massaging little circles with her knuckles, removing the dirt as carefully as she could. “It just needs a gentle wash. Takes some extra time, but it’ll help keep it from getting worse at least. If only I could sew, but these stupid claws get in the way…” she sighed.
Shinobu watched (Y/n) carefully scrub the dirt from the blanket, finding the contrast between her almost ferocious appearance and her gentle hands bizarre. Why would a demon put so much care into preserving a worn, threadbare blanket for a child?
Shinobu exhales softly through her nose and kneels beside the demon, exhaling quietly when she sees her jump.
“Settle down, you’re fine.” Shinobu took an opposite corner of the blanket and copied (Y/n)’s movements. “Aoi should be able to mend it. It’ll be a patch-job, sure, but at least it’ll hold it all together.”
“That would be wonderful… you don’t need to help me with this if you don’t want to. The water is pretty cold.”
“It’s fine, besides, the sooner this is done, the sooner I can go home and the sooner I can give everyone’s poor ears a break.”
“Right…” (Y/n) gave an awkward chuckle, “Sorry about that. She never really was allowed to have any feelings before so I have a hard time trying to discipline her for bad behavior. She was so timid, I didn’t want to scare her when she was just finally starting to have her own voice, you know?”
Oh, Shinobu could relate to that. When Kanao ran off to Final Selection without telling anyone, Shinobu was beside herself. When Kanao came back safe, she wanted to give her a piece of her mind, but she was also so proud that Kanao had made that choice on her own, that she didn’t really know what to say to the girl.
They finished cleaning the blanket and (Y/n) carried the sopping fabric back to the mansion where occasional wails could still be heard.
“I guess you should take it from here…” (Y/n) said once they were reunited with Kanao, who had taken up sporting a couple of pink ear plugs in their absence.
“No,” Shinobu sighed, “You should come in. Giving her the blanket will only take care of half of the problem. She’s been asking about you nonstop.”
“Really, I can see her? Thank you so much—!”
Shinobu grabbed (Y/n) by a horn and lowered her to her level so they were eye to eye.
“But don’t think that I won’t be watching you very carefully, alright?”
“Uh, uh-huh, yes, I completely understand.” (Y/n) nodded awkwardly with her horn still in Shinobu’s grip. After a moment of studious silence, Shinobu let go and allowed (Y/n) to follow her into the room and almost immediately, Sachiko’s wailing stopped… only to be renewed when she realized that both (Y/n) and her special blanket were okay.
She leapt out of the bed despite various protests and jumped into (Y/n)’s arms.
“Onee-san! I thought you were gone forever!” Sachiko blubbered.
“There there…” (Y/n) tried to shush her, “You need to rest, Sachiko.”
“No! What if when I close my eyes, that mean hag takes you away again?”
“Sachiko…” (Y/n) warned, her eyes flickered to Shinobu in an apologetic manner.
“I won’t be taking her away from you again as long as she behaves herself.” Shinobu chimed in. It was time to start trying to burry the hatchet. Yet make no mistake, at the moment she felt even a twinge of danger from the demon, this tentative peace would be over. She crouched down in front of Sachiko and presented her pinky to her. “You have my word.”
“A pinky promise!” Sachiko gasped, almost looking at Shinobu in a new light. “The hag knows about pinky promises!”
Shinobu’s eye twitched subtly, “Yes… so you understand this is a serious promise I am making.”
“Sachiko,” (Y/n) piped up, “In return, I want you to promise Kocho-san that you will be a polite houseguest. That means no name calling and no screaming when you don’t get your way, understand?”
“But…”
“No buts, it’s time to make up. You have to remember that I’m a scary monster so it only makes sense that Kocho-san would act the way she did.”
Shinobu almost wanted to refute that point. She hardly found (Y/n) scary at all. However, she just wanted to focus on sealing this deal and finally, finally get to go to sleep.
“Okay… fine.” Sachiko pouted, looking Shinobu in the eye again before she hooked their pinkies together, sealing their promises.
***
How could a demon be so sweet and gentle? Shinobu wondered to herself for not the first time since Sachiko and by extension, (Y/n), joined the mansion’s residents several months ago.
Shinobu watched from the herb garden as Sachiko ran back to the shaded engawa, her hands full of dandelions. Sachiko deposited one handful into (Y/n)’s lap, the other on the floor in front of her. Shinobu wondered what they would make, crowns, rings, bracelets, all fair game.
She felt her cheeks warm, not from the gentle sun shining down from above, but from seeing (Y/n)’s fanged smile as she oh so slowly and patiently showed Sachiko how to tie the stems into knots for probably hundredth time since the little yellow weeds began popping up earlier that spring.
Oh to hell with it, weeding the garden could wait. Shinobu surely earned a little break, right? Sachiko already took care of most of it anyway with her dandelion picking. It was a wonder that she managed to find any at all since it seemed that she was always picking them as soon as they would pop up.
“Hello, Kocho-san.” (Y/n) aimed that sweet, fanged smile at her and she felt her knees go a little weak. “We aren’t disturbing your gardening, are we?”
“Not at all, and please, (Y/n), I told you to call me Shinobu, remember?”
“Right, sorry.”
“No need to apologize. Just relax.” Shinobu teased, bumping (Y/n)’s shoulder with her own as they sat side by side. The simple contact made both of their hearts flutter.
“Look what I made!” Sachiko presented Shinobu with a patch of woven dandelions. “I’m gonna give this to Nezuko. It’s a little pillow.”
“That’s very thoughtful, Sachiko.” Shinobu praised, though it was certainly too small a pillow for even Nezuko to use effectivley.
She was fortunate and thankful that Sachiko had forgiven her for their rough beginnings. It took time to really earn her trust and respect, but once Sachiko started feeling comfortable, it was all water under the bridge. Though there were times when she could still be wary of Shinobu’s intentions with her adoptive demon sister. Which admittedly left Shinobu more than a bit chagrined, especially when she was admittedly trying to put the moves on (Y/n) rather than threaten her existence these days.
Fortunately or unfortunately, neither had seemed to catch on to that fact. She would need to step it up.
“And what are you making, (Y/n)?” Shinobu asked, brushing their shoulders together again.
“Oh, um,” (Y/n) finally looked down at her hands. Truthfully, she had been a little too busy trying to steal glances at Shinobu in the garden to really pay attention to what she was doing. Her heart spasmed as she realized she had been putting together a ring during her mindless weaving. “Just a simple ring.” She said, trying her best to sound casual.
“That’s cute, planning on giving it to someone?” Shinobu teased.
“Well…”
“Aw!”
Shinobu and (Y/n)’s attention were brought back to Sachiko, one of her twin buns had unraveled and in her hand was a soft yellow butterfly clip.
“It fell out again.”
“It wouldn’t fall out, if you wouldn’t mess with it.” Shinobu reminded with a smile. She patted her lap and Sachiko quickly sat with her back to Shinobu so she could fix it. “That reminds me…” Shinobu’s eyes slid back to (Y/n)’s face, finding her looking almost guilty, “Where is your clip, (Y/n)? You aren’t wearing it again.”
“You know… it’s just too nice and I’m afraid I’ll break it.”
“You seem plenty gentle when dealing with those dandelions.” Shinobu pointed out.
“Well…”
“You’re a resident of the Butterfly Estate, so you should look the part, don’t you think?”
“It just, it doesn’t look right on me, you know? It’s so pretty and delicate and I’m so… not.” (Y/n) was intimately aware of how frightening she looked to the average person. Horns, claws, fangs and burning eyes… wearing such a pin would look more ironic than a statement of belonging. (Y/n) had not expected Shinobu to look so serious for stating what she thought was the obvious.
“I’m not going to beat around the bush, (Y/n).” Shinobu stated, “You are very pretty, bewitchingly so, and though not physically delicate, I did see you cry over that perfectly healthy kitten that Kanroji-san brought over. On top of that, I picked a color with the intent that it would compliment you. Are you really going to deny me the pleasure of seeing the completed artwork?”
“That wasn’t my intention!” (Y/n) could feel her skin becoming warmer.
“Then go retrieve it.“ Shinobu smiled almost menacingly, softening when watching (Y/n) bolt inside.
(Y/n) came back to the engawa as fast as she could and gave the delicate pin to Shinobu. Sachiko watched thoughtfully as Shinobu placed the pin in such a way that she new (Y/n) would be comfortable and happy with it.
“There, just as pretty as I imagined.” Shinobu smiled. “And you know I’m always right, so it’s obviously true.”
“Yeah…” (Y/n) shared a bashful smile of her own, still staying close to Shinobu even after the pin was secured.
“If you’re gonna kiss, I’m gonna leave.” Sachiko’s nose scrunched up.
“Huh?!” (Y/n) squawked, “Sachiko! Why would you say that? We’re just talking!”
“For now,” Shinobu said mischievously, moving her face closer to (Y/n)’s, “uh oh… I’m getting closer…”
“Ewwww!” Sachiko made a few fake gaging noises as she ran back inside with her handful of dandelions, ignoring (Y/n)’s protests.
“Why did you say that?” The demon’s face buzzed with heat, “She’s going to give the rumor mill around here a field day! Everyone’s going to think that we’re— you know…!”
“I don’t see any issue with a rumor like that.” Shinobu spoke casually, “In fact, it would be even better if it was true. What do you say,” Shinobu leaned in even closer, “will you meet me in the middle?”
(Y/n)’s mouth gaped like a fish for a moment, her eyes flicking between Shinobu’s lips and eyes as if trying to ask if she really meant it before nodding and carefully closing the gap, making sure her fangs didn’t cause too much trouble when their lips finally met.

Domestic life with Shinobu! (Female Reader)
Note: Wrote this for lesbian visibility week but only got around to posting it now...at least it's in time for pride month! I was totally about to make this angsty, but lesbians deserve peace! Also, fun fact: a ring on the thumb is often a symbol for sapphic women!

The beating summer sun is harsh and hot. Your hands ache as you swing a wooden sword. Counting to ten, readjusting your grip, repeating the reps, and continuing this pattern for hours even when your muscles begin to tense.
Breaking the serene atmosphere of the Butterfly Mansion courtyard is the sound of three rushing girls. The sound of their shoes clicking against the rock pathways breaks your concentration. Their cute voices calling your name have your attention.
Sumi, Kiyo, and Naho run up to you, a bottle of water, a towel, and a snack in each of their hands. You accept the items graciously, setting the wooden sword down to sip the water.
“[Name]! You looked so cool out there. The rehabilitation training is paying off!” Kiyo praised, the other two girls nodding along.
You quickly drink the water and scarf down the food. Smiling at the girls, you pick up the wooden sword. “Thank you, girls. The snack was delicious, but I must get back to training.”
Small hands grab your uniform, stopping you from walking. They pull you back from trying to reach the sword. “No! You can’t; it’s time for a break.” The girls hound you, struggling to keep you in place.
Smiling down at the girls, you try to free your uniform from their surprisingly firm grip. “Oh, don’t worry. I just took a break not too long ago.” Your soft words do nothing to stop their tugging.
With puppy-eyed expressions, Sumi, Kiyo, and Naho keep pulling. “But it was a direct request from Lady Shinobu!”
……
The aforementioned medic sit’s in her office, writing formulas and the status of her current patients. As she works, Shinobu can hear the sound of familiar footsteps. She closed her notebook with a smug smile and patiently waited for her visitor.
The door to her office slides opens with you on the other side. Shinobu claps her hands together, bringing them up to her face. “Aw, if it isn’t my diligent slayer.”
You walk up to Shinobu’s desk, standing over her with a slight glint in your eyes. Setting your hands on her desk, you lean close to her smiling face. “You sent the girls after me while I was training.”
Shinobu’s face takes on a look of innocence. She knew you couldn’t resist when the girls looked at you with those cute puppy eyes. “I have no idea what you mean.” She gets up from her seat, bringing her hands to rest on your waist. Her fingers squeeze the plush skin there. “You’ve trained a lot today. Take a break.” Shinobu leans in to kiss your cheek like she’s trying to seduce you into staying.
You can feel yourself get a bit flustered at her sudden affections. “I have to train, Nobu. I need to get back to work as soon as possible.”
Shinobu does not let up, her lips moving to kiss your jaw. “The other Hashira can take over in your absence. Besides, I already had Aoi start a bath for us. You wouldn’t want her work to go to waste.” She looks at you with teasing eyes, capitalizing on your love for the younger butterfly girls.
Her teasing and kissing had done the trick. She walks you to the bathhouse of the mansion. True to her words, a steaming bath was prepared. Incense line the room and fill the space with a soft lavender scent. Aoi had done a great job setting the room up. It was just as Shinobu requested it.
Shinobu makes quick work of taking her uniform off. She purposely gives you an eyeful of her curves. After folding her clothes into a neat pile, she turns to you. There’s a smirk on her delicate features. “Hm, you have too many clothes on, honey.”
Her nimble fingers work on the buttons of your top. Shinobu’s fingers are working slowly, teasing. Her face is so close to yours, yet not close enough. Once she’s finished, she slips the shirt off. She makes sure to drag her hands against your skin, her nails leaving light scratches. Shinobu leans in close, her lips just about to touch yours. You could feel her breath against your skin.
“Time for your pants.” She lets out a playful laugh as she pulls away. Your pants came off much faster than your top. Shinobu eagerly rushed you to the bath, helping you into the hot water. She gets in soon after you, letting out a sigh. “Doesn’t the water feel nice? It’s filled with plenty of healing minerals.”
Smiling at her, you lean in close. “It feels amazing. This was very thoughtful of you.” Pulling into your body, you press a kiss onto her forehead. “I’ll admit, I’ve spent a lot of time training. It’s just,” You paused, thinking over your words. Since you entered the butterfly mansion: you spent every moment training. Unknowingly neglecting Shinobu and your health, running your body ragged. “I don’t want to feel weak.”
Shinobu’s smile falters, forming into a more concerned look. “Honey, you’re not weak. What happened was just an accident. It wasn’t your fault.” Her hand comes up to cup your cheek.
“But I’m a hashira! I’m not supposed to make such mistakes.” The mission you were on was supposed to be an easy one. However, one minor slip-up was enough to take you out of action. You felt embarrassed, ashamed. The whole incident left a heavy weight on your chest. “I…I could’ve died on that mission.”
Hearing these words, Shinobu could feel her anger bubble up and rise. Not at you, but more at the feeling of helplessness. This feeling of dread. The same way she felt when she heard the cries of those who lost their loved ones to demons. The same way she felt upon losing her sister.
As she shifts around, the water ripples. She brings you into a hug, her arms shaking almost unnoticeable. Her head rests in the crook of your neck. You could feel a single tear drip against your skin.
“Don’t say things like that.” Her words came out more like a demand, but there was still that shakiness. “You’re here now, and that’s what matters. We can talk more later. But for now, I want to enjoy this time with you.” Perhaps it was selfish of her, but she wished to forget the horrors of being a demon slayer. All she wanted was to be in this moment with you. Enjoy this illusion of domestic bliss before having to face the grim reality.
Leaning into her hold, you let out a soft sigh. For just a second, you truly felt at peace. “Alright, let's talk about something else. Hm, do you know what’s for dinner tonight?” Your tone was light, not wanting to break the serene air.
Shinobu smiled, a soft glint in her eyes. She shifts her position again so that she’s now leaning against you. “I may have pulled a few strings. It’s your favorite tonight!” There were no real strings pulled. Shinobu was a hashira, and she could have almost anything she wanted. She just liked the feeling of having to work for what she wanted; rather than just being served to her.
“Well, you’re spoiling me tonight, aren't you?” You laugh and press a small kiss on her cheek.
Leaning up and kissing you on the lips, Shinobu’s smile gets more teasing. “You’ve been so focused on training lately. I have a lot of love I need to catch up on.”
……
True to her word, Shinobu’s treatment was not finished. After the bath, she massaged your body. Her nimble fingers worked out any knots that were present. Once your body was thoroughly worked, she helped you get dressed in the finest pajamas she had to offer.
The two of you now reside in her quarters, sitting at the low table in the center of the room. Shinobu had brewed some tea. She fills two cups with the steaming liquid.
“This tea is said to reduce stress and relax the body. The ginger I added is full of antioxidants as well.”
As she explains all the properties of the tea in front of you, there’s a smile on your face. One full of pure love and adoration.
“I know you like your tea sweeter, but sugar would slow your healing process,” Shinobu explained as she sipped her tea. Glancing at you, she noticed that love-filled expression on your face. She leaned over to pinch your cheek. “Hey, are you even listening?”
You let out a sound of surprise as her pinch broke you out of your daydream. Giving her a sheepish smile, you hold her hand against your face. “Sorry, I wasn't. I was just thinking about something.”
“Oh? And what could be more important than my medical knowledge?” She teased.
Looking at her, your eyes softened. You bring her hand to press a gentle kiss onto it. “Well, I was thinking,” You take a short breath, building up your courage. “When all of this is over, when there’s no more fighting or grief, I want to become your wife. We’ll settle down, maybe get a new estate. We could take the rest of the girls, living happily in peace. I love you; I want to spend the rest of our lives together.”
Your sudden proclamation of love caught Shinobu off guard. Her eyes were wide, and on her cheeks was a faint blush. For a moment, she felt vulnerable. She pulls away from your touch. You could feel your heart sink at that moment. She moves with quick steps, retrieving a small box from her desk. You soon felt relieved as she took a seat in front of you.
“It seems you beat me to it.” Shinobu teased. She opened the box. In it was a simple silver band, a purple jewel encrusted in the middle, and a soft stripe of lilac going through the ring. “This isn’t a proposal, but more of a promise.”
She gently took your right hand, setting the ring on your thumb. “When we no longer have to fight, I’ll propose. When everything is over, you’ll become my wife and I’ll be yours.” Shinobu’s voice was that of a whisper as she held your hands.
Tears pricked the corner of your eyes. Leaning in, you brought Shinobu into a passionate kiss. One full of love and trust. Pulling back, you rest your forehead against hers, looking into her eyes. “I would want nothing more.”

Silent comfort | {ShinoGiyuu}
Tumblr media
Theme: Hurt/comfort??
Note: for no reason, i've suddenly been drawn back to ShinoGiyuu again-
×××
Shinobu sat in a panicked state, her back pressed against the wall of her room, her hand to her chest. Her breathing was heavy and she blinked rapidly, trying to stop the tears from forming in her eyes.
Calm down, calm down, calm down.
It was like a mantra as she repeated it over and over in her head.
Nightmares are for children. Calm. Down.
That was a lie. But the worse she felt about it, the more she would will herself to stop having them.
Calm down, you can't let this keep happening, calm down.
It had happened time and time again. Sometimes, she was afraid to sleep. To dream. She would stay awake, staring at the curtains barely containing the midday sunlight from seeping through.
Count to ten, she would tell herself. She wished she wasn't so childish. So idiotic. Why was she like this? She only had so much time to rest, why was she wasting it on panicking? God, how incompetent was she?
She vaguely registered the click of a door opening, footsteps.
She let out a shaky breath, her bangs slipping over her eyes. Her knees were drawn up to her chest and she sat there, curled up. She felt constricted, her ribcage closing around her heart, her lungs, and then-
A steady hand on her upper arm brought her to a lilting sense of reality. She blinked up at whoever it was. At first, their face glazed from her gaze and she didn't recognize them. But she caught the green and yellow hexgonal pattern printed upon fabric that brushed her leg as the hand moved up to her shoulder, tightening comfortingly.
She blinked again, tears she was holding back blurring her vision.
"T...Tomioka-San?" she mumbled, biting her lip to keep her emotions from spilling over. Why was he here?
"Kocho...," Giyuu murmured. He had knelt down in front of her, eyebrows creased in worry. It was the most emotion she had seen on his face before and it startled her. She forgot herself for a moment, until she felt a drop sliding down her cheek.
She mentally cursed herself, waiting for the inevitable nag from Giyuu to pull herself together. Only it didn't come. Instead, his hand rested upon her jaw, thumb grazing her cheek. She held her breath, slowly raising her gaze to meet his.
Giyuu's eyes were intent, the blue dark from the lack of light. "Are you alright?" he asked quietly. His hand still rested on the side of her face, drawing circles on her cheek.
"I... What're you...?" Her question trailed off, unsure where it was going. What was he doing here? What was he doing?
"You told me to come for a check-up. Aoi directed me here when I arrived," he said simply, gaze searching her face for an answer to his own un-asked question.
"I'm... sorry," Shinobu said, letting out a breath. She had forgotten about that. She was being stupid, now. Humiliating herself in front of him, making him comfort her.
"For?"
Her eyes flit down, not wanting to see his expression. It would be blank, no doubt. Uncaring. Or would it be mocking? Thinly-veiled disgust? She couldn't blame him. She was a Hashira, for god's sake. Yet here she was, crying over a stupid nightmare. Pathetic, that's hat she was.
"No... Nothing. Give me a minute, we can get to your check-up now," she mumbled, sucking in a shaky breath, trying to pull herself together.
There was movement, though she didn't know exactly what. Then Giyuu was sitting next to her, side by side. He took her hand, which had rested previously on her knee, cradling it.
"Tomi... What?" she said, surprised. This wasn't the response she had expected.
She glanced at him, but he had drawn his knees up like she had, hands holding the one of hers tenderly. He entwined his hand with hers, clasping it gently.
She watched him, his face slack but soothing. She didn't understand. Why was he being so kind to her?
"You don't have to talk," he said quietly, noticing her staring at him.
"Your... check-up?" she said meekly.
He shook his head and said nothing more, his thumb circling on the back of her hand. It sparked a memory in Shinobu's mind, bringing her tears to the near edge.
Kanae, hugging her after their parents died. Kanae, telling her it would be alright before Final Selection. Kanae, holding her hand like this, comforting her after she had gotten injured. Kanae, her quite presence as her life slowly faded.
Shinobu looked down, resting her forehead on her knees. Her breath was harsh again and she fought the urge to cry. She had embarrassed herself enough in front of Giyuu.
Yet Giyuu seemed to notice this, lifting her hand so she turned her attention to him, pursing her lips together to contain herself.
"You... don't have to hold back," he murmured. "It's okay."
And somehow, those words brought her to her limit, tears quivering as they slowly slipped down, creating crevices in the thinly layered make up she had put on earlier.
Giyuu nodded then changed their positions carefully, scooting closer and drawing her onto his lap so she was curled up in his arms. He rubbed her back, resting his head against hers.
"It's okay," he repeated. "It's okay."
She nodded to his words, silent sobs breaking through. And suddenly it wasn't because of her nightmares anymore. She didn't know what it was. But she felt safe there, for a moment. For once, after so long, she felt that he wasn't lying. The words didn't seem like an empty promise right now.
His thumb, though hardened from the years of fighting, wiped her tears away so tenderly. She leaned her face into his palm, her eyes fluttering close. He led her through breathing, helping her calm herself.
He breathed in carefully and she copied him, her breath stuttering with a hiccup. He rubbed her back, leading her through breathing out. In and out, in and out.
She leaned against his body, his arms wrapping around her.
"Thank you," she murmured.
He didn't answer, instead placing his lips carefully on her forehead. It felt... right. She didn't know how, it just did. So she let him, let him hug her, let him comfort her. Let herself enjoy it, eyes closed.
"You should rest," he said softly.
She didn't protest, feeling somehow both emotionally and physically exhausted. As she drifted off to sleep, she thought she heard him say something, though she couldn't be certain of it.
"It'll be fine," he whispered. "I love you."

–Husband!Akaza
–Black.FemReader X Akaza
"H-Hakuji?
One winter evening, you thought you'd been asleep and dreaming. After you heard a knock, you answer the door. Now widowed you didn't expect anyone to be at your home. It was usually the time Hakuji returned to you. But that day, what you'd nerver thought in a million years happened.
Standing in the door frame, the dark silhouette seemed familiar to you. You couldn't make out their face due to your doorway being so dark. Though, when they— or rather He stepped into the light you were shocked. It felt as if your lungs had collapsed.
Your eyes widened as you staggered backwards. Mouth a gaping as your words were lost.
Its not possible, is it? For someone to return— nonetheless with a different appearance?! Maybe you were still grieving? Maybe this was the 'denial' stage of grief? Your husband from the dead.. is now standing in your doorway.
"Don't look at me like that Y/n— Aren't you glad Im back Beloved?" The voice you hadn't heard for weeks comments.
You didn't know what to do..Why is he back? He walked in like he'd never been gone and shut the door behind him. "Beloved? Whats wrong?"
"You—", you stuttered. The sweet face you'd fallen for. His fair skin, now tainted with thick blue markings on his face. His short wavy hair now pink. Those yellow eyes, pink eyelashes throwing you for a loop.
"Hm?" His pink brow raised in confusion to your cut-short sentence.
He takes quick strides to get to you as you stood speechless. His blue fingers reach out to your pulling them up to his lips.
"You okay Y/n?" He bends down a bit to get eye-level with you; as he was taller than you.
"Hakuji—", you hic.
Almost losing your balance, your knees buckle causing you to almost fall. Your husband catching you by the waist, "Woah easy there Y/n!" ,he chortles.
'He's real..He's actually real— I can feel his touch', you think to yourself.
Your hands shaking, feeling his arms, and up his biceps. Hakuji raises a brow, staring at you with confusion. "Hakuji, you're real?"
"Mmm...yes?" He chuckles.
Happy, no...elated your deceased Husband was before you— You'd tackled him to the ground on accident. Your tight hold around him rough you could choke him back to death.
"Y/n, hon?" You eyes and nose running, causing his clothes to be drenched. "Hakuji, I'm really hoping– I'm praying I'm not drunk or you're not a ghost right now."
His arms comforting you, gently rubbing your back. "No honey, I promise I am 100% real. Just a little...different. I hope you aren't disappointed."
"No..I'm happy, So happy."
Akaza smiles,"Im sorry I left you for so long beautiful." He pulls you out of the hug, and looks at you. Seeing your pretty face every morning really made everyday worth living. His fingers wiping away your tears, sharp nails grazing your skin.
"I-It's okay, I'm so glad you're back", you whine.
His eyes..Something so different, yet still the same loving glaze. His eyes..now yellow instead of blue. The marks on his skin, patterns that were new to you. You would look at the marks on his arm, and trance your finger along them.
"Hakuji.."
He gazes at you, humming in response. "Why..why did you come back."
Hakuji's eyes look to the side now, almost as if he tries to think of something to say.
"I was given a second chance..", he admits standing up. Aswell as helping you to your feet. "Start this second chance with me?" He finishes.
"Hakuji, of course." You'd say without thinking, you didn't want to be away from your beloved. Especially after You'd just got him back.
Hakuji walks over to the kitchen counter before picking up your wedding ring. Remembering since you'd technically been widowed there'd been no reason to wear it.
"Honey?" You questioned. Hakuji, returning back to your side. He took your hand sliding the ring on your finger. Just like the day you two became one.
Pulling you in, he held his arm around your waist and the other locking fingers with yours that held the ring.
"Y/n, my sweet and beautiful Y/n..", he mumbled pulling you into a longing kiss. You'd submit complete and immediately almost forgetting what his kisses felt like. Sugary, strong..he was confident~ and so sexy.
When he pulls away he cups your cheek, whispering to you. "Let's do this again hm? But, better this time."
He lures you into a tight hug,"Yes." You say, melting into his arms. There was a silence before he speaks up again.
"Right...before I forget"
"Yes?"
"Just so you dont get confused why others call me something different.."
Hakuji looks at you once more, smiling, ear-to-ear fangs showing. Grazing his bottom lip–
"My name is Akaza darling."

Demon Slayer Headcanons + Short Stories
Warnings: Fluff, Milk
Pairings: Mitsuri, Shinobu, reader
Mitsuri Kanroji:
Tumblr media
♡ Mitsuri is the type of lover who will easily swoon. Anything you do with her would be so romantic, and she just thinks you're utterly perfect. So when you two became a married couple, she was head over heels for just you. ♡
"Pfft! Bwahaha~!" By now, that sudden muffled laugh doesn't surprise you. Nor does the hands that now suddenly cover your eyes from continuing to cut the food you were preparing for your fiancé. The day you asked Mitsuri to be yours was a memorable one.
"Mitsuri-chan, my beloved." She let's go immediately as she settles to just hug you now. "I can't finish making your lunch if you cover my vision."
"Oh, I'm sorry." She let's go and looks over before covering her mouth.
"What? Surprised I'm making you something? I would've thought you'd be used to it by now." (Y/n) said as she placed the sushi rolls into the cute pink bento boxes before closing it and tying it in a bow. Mitsuri couldn't help but squeal as she bites the sleeve of her haori.
"What is it, Mitsuri?"
"I feel so luckyyyy!!" She cries out as she burries her face into your chest. Holding you into an almost vice-like grip.
"Mitsuri! I can't breathe!"
This Hashira will never stop falling for you.
Shinobu Kocho:
Tumblr media
♡ Shinobu is just so sweet towards you, and she can't help the opportunity to tease you some days. Still, she seems to be the one always taking care of you. She perfers it that way though. ♡
A few small breaths leaves your lips before you began feeling something tickling your nose. Your nose crinkled as you opened your eyes, seeing two indigo eyes looking back at you with a spark in them.
"Honey?" A groggy voice you didn't recognize said. Shinobu sat back as she laughed, hearing your groggy voice.
"Morning, (Y/n)-chan/kun!" She greets as she sits back and watches as you sit up to rub your eyes. A shudder comes to your shoulders as a cool mug is pressed to your lips. "Drink. I made sure to make you some morning matcha tea."
"Matcha?" You stuck your tongue out in disgust. "But it taste so weird. I'm not so much of a bitter drinker, Shinobu-chan."
"I added something special to this tea." She smiles as she again hands you the small mug of the 'green gunk.'
"I swear.. they should feed this to demons as a punishment." You murmured as you held the mug to your lips and take a small sip.
"Well, how is it?"
"It taste.. sweet." Shinobu smiles as you go in for another sip.
"What did you add to it?" A small giggle leaves Shinobu's lips as she touches her cheek.
"Milk."
"Milk..? From a cow, right?" (Y/n) tilts her head as Shinobu keeps her same closed eyed smile. "Shinobu-chan, from a cow, right!?" Her laugh seems to only grow as she watches your concerned face go bright red.

Hi, could I request hc's of Shinbou with a shy!reader that often avoids people? Reader kinda acts like Giyuu and, this leads to Shinbou teasing them until one day Shinbou ends making the reader cry.

Tumblr media
cw: mentions of death, injuries, blood, misunderstanding, self-hatred-ish on reader's part ⚠ this was actually a LOT more than i anticipated on this oneshot so this scenario is more plausible in my opinion LOL ⚠
Tumblr media
Shy; is one word to describe you. You're not too different than Giyuu, who's the most closed-off person among all of the Hashiras, and you understood why. Interacting with people is hard.
Not everyone is gifted or developed the ability to talk with others so confidently, not thinking of many possibilities of whether people would like them if they did this and that, and just go with the flow. You were one of the unfortunate people who has a difficult time mingling with people. You're often seen with Giyuu due to both of your introverted natures, which led you to become Shinobu's other target for teasing.
You don't understand why Shinobu teases you, but you don't voice out your discomfort since you're already aware that Shinobu does the same with Giyuu.
Does she like to target people like you? You didn't know.
The fact that you're not so great with socializing led you to believe Shinobu does this because she hates you, and in your eyes, it made sense. It doesn't help that you never stood up for yourself from her. You allowed her to poke you here and there, whisper things behind your back to the point it was getting to your head. What did you do wrong to make her hate you so much?
Sure, you never made a good impression on any of the Hashiras besides being strong and very tactical in battle, but is that a good enough reason to hate on you so much? Now you could relate so much to Giyuu's feelings.
Shinobu took your dismissive attitude towards her lightly, for Giyuu does the same and never took into consideration that her words could deeply hurt you. Her teasing, in her opinion, was to bring out any sort of reaction from people like you— who tend to avoid speaking to others and just... stand there.
People like you remind her of decorative furniture. Muichiro made that comment on you and she could never unsee it.
Because of this, you began to patch up your injuries on your own instead of visiting the Butterfly Estate unless you absolutely have to. Shinobu pokes you more if you're in her territory and the thought haunts you at the back of your head whilst you're on missions, repeatedly reminding yourself to don't get too injured for the sake of your shattering confidence. Small injuries are nothing, so you could easily clean them and put on a simple bandage. Serious injuries though? You had to learn how to stitch deeper wounds, disinfect, and such. All on your own.
Yeah, that's how much you wanted to avoid her.
Which brought you to this unfortunate situation. It appears that simply reading a medical book and following instructions wasn't enough to take care of yourself in the long run, and now you're stuck inside the Butterfly Estate, confined to one of the beds. You could barely move your body, your belly swollen and red from the deep cut you received from a demon. Not to mention the horrible job you did on the stitches, as well as the technique you used on wrapping bandages on your torso.
You were in extreme pain and dared not to move at all during your whole stay. It was clear that you have a pretty bad infection from the high fever you have. It took all of Shinobu's willpower now to smack you on your head for your stupidity and save you a beating for later.
She already noticed how less you've been visiting her estate a few weeks ago. Shinobu was fairly confident with your capabilities, you're a Hashira after all. You aren't just some reckless slayer that got injured on every mission, you're recognized for your strength, your flexibility in battle, your quick thinking and so much more, which earned you the respectful title of a Hashira. What bothered her though, was the gossip of her patients.
Shinobu is not one to gossip since it's not her business, she has many more important things to be doing, but a certain topic caught her attention. You.
At first, it was the usual awe every low-ranking slayer experiences after witnessing a Hashira in battle. She was about to forget about it when they mentioned something worrisome.
"Have you seen L/n-san anywhere in the estate?" Asked one of the injured slayers. "I wanted to thank them for saving us!"
"No, I haven't. Why do you ask?" Replied Aoi, who just finished a check-up on an unconscious slayer.
Shinobu could hear the frown in his voice. "Well, you see, L/n-san took a really serious blow from one of the demons to protect us. They went ahead of us, so we thought we'd see them here." He explained, "I didn't think they'd heal up that fast."
Aoi was silent for a moment, processing the boy's words. Truth to be told, Shinobu was too, frozen on her spot. "...L/n-san never came here..."
That was enough to make her spring into action, running out of the Butterfly Estate as fast as she could, her haori flowing against the wind. The smile that she polished to be perfect became strained, as a heavy feeling began to settle in her chest. She could feel her worry rise.
It has been days since those slayers arrived at the estate.
And this felt horribly familiar.
Shinobu was a doctor. She devoted herself to the field of medicine and made sure that each Hashira was in a good enough condition before sending them back to battle. If you should die without even her knowledge, from a wound she couldn't tend to, she'd fail you as a doctor. Her heart clenched even more because it was you.
Seeing you sprawled on the floors of your Estate, passed out, made her frantic. Your breathing was alarmingly shallow, pulse barely thumping against her finger. Forehead covered in sweat, kimono caked with blood around your stomach, and your body was cold. It felt all too familiar. Looked too familiar. Your body felt light in her arms as she carried you back to the Butterfly Estate, it was as if she was carrying a corpse.
The events left a bitter taste in her mouth. She lost all of her composure after your condition became stable. Had she been late for a day or two, you would've died. Her fingertips trembled against your now warm skin, pulse beating more clearly. Her heart was erratic, pounding against her ribs as a frown formed on her lips.
Shinobu was relieved that you're alive. She really was, she could just grab your face and kiss you until she's reassured herself that you're alive. That you're breathing, against her skin, that your heart was beating hard enough that she could hear it.
But she was so, so angry. Angry at you, angry at herself, and angry at the demon who did this to you.
Why didn't you seek out her when you needed her help? She's a doctor, for fuck's sake! It's her job to care for you when you need it the most. Was it your pride? Personal reasons? Whatever it was, she's your doctor. Her blood boiled at your foolishness. She wanted to slap your face until it knocked you back to your senses.
Why didn't she check on you more? She should've known something was not right when you visited less and less. When she saw you limp and waved her off when she pointed out. When she could hear your labored breathing during one of the Hashira meetings once. When she searched for more injuries on your body, she noticed more scars than usual. Some showed signs of not properly healing.
She held in a breath.
How long has this been going?
You woke after a few hours of being confined in the Butterfly Estate, much to Shinobu's relief. Breathing became lighter as the smile she always wore on her face softened when your eyes fluttered open, darting across the room to analyze and recognize where you are.
Shinobu felt like she was punched in the gut when your eyes landed on her and then winced, closing your eyes as if the two of you hadn't made eye contact. But she didn't falter, smiling wider as she poked her finger on your cheek. It took every fiber of your being not to groan in annoyance.
"Good morning, L/n-chan~" She greeted in a sing-song tone, slapping your cheek lightly to 'wake' you up. "I know you're awake!" This time, you groaned, but in pain. Your whole body was so sore, and if you even moved an inch, the pain would spike in your stomach. Slowly blinking your eyes open, you frowned at the Shinobu.
Besides pain, you could feel fear the moment your gaze fell on her once more. She was obviously seething under that sickly sweet smile. You swallowed thickly.
You really did now, Y/n.
"My my, this is one of the most horrible cases of infection I've ever had in a while!" Her voice was nothing but gentle as if it was a gentle caress on the cheek. It gave warmth and reassurance that you're going to be okay in her hands, despite the words that rolled off her tongue.
But that gentle caress could turn into a merciless strangle if her buttons were pushed too much, and as far as you could tell, was already at her limit. She placed the back of her hand on your forehead, checking your temperature, then pulled down the blanket delicately wrapped around your form. "I'll show you your injury, okay~?" Unable to make a sound, you could only give her a curt nod.
Pulling up your shirt and taking a couple of bandages in her hand, you felt a bile rise in your throat at the condition of your wound. Jaw slacked, you're left speechless as Shinobu replaced the bandages around your stomach. Honestly, you regret not coming to Shinobu after this fatal injury. You knew yet your silly little feelings were too important than your literal well-being. You let out a small yelp when Shinobu 'accidentally' tugged on the bandages too hard, flashing you her signature smile.
"Why didn't you come here?" She demanded just as you feared. You gulped once more, looking away from her, and just stayed silent, hoping she'd drop the subject. But you knew she wouldn't. "From what I could tell, this cut has been here for a couple of days now, the sutures were badly done too!" You could hear the exasperation in her voice, and yet you kept your mouth shut.
With a sigh, she decided to drop it. Instead, she smiled at you. "You're worse than Tomioka-san, you know that, right?" Your throat tightened. There it is. A straight jab at your chest. The pain on your abdomen was almost forgotten when the invisible weight of dread was put back on your shoulders.
You hated this feeling, and it was so much worse when Shinobu spoke. Can't she go on a day with being so cruel?
"Seriously, where did you learn how to bandage? Sumi, Naho, and Kiyo are younger than you but they're more qualified in healing than you are!" Giggled Shinobu, putting away the bandages as she continued. Her back was facing you, so she wasn't able to see your shaking form.
Your hands were clenched into fists, gritting your teeth as you felt anger bubble in your chest.
A thought that crossed your mind made your anger dissipate and was quickly replaced with sadness. She's good at a lot of things. You're not, she's just being honest about your patheticness. That's right, she's just being honest. How can you even have the right to say anything to her when she's just being brutally honest about what she sees in you? You could barely even hold a conversation with Oyakata-sama without stumbling on your words.
But part of you still felt it was so unfair of her.
She opened her mouth, about to poke fun at you more, until she heard a sob. Her hands stilled as her eyes widened. Then she reassured herself that it was just because of the pain. Again, she was about to tease you more when you whimpered out; "Why do you hate me so much?"
It was the first sentence you've ever said to her that wasn't concerning about your health. Unlike Giyuu, who tells her to leave him alone, you never spoke to her.
If it was a different situation, she would've been elated. The ever so quiet and dismissive Y/n L/n? Talking to her? Giving her a reaction? It would've been an achievement in her books if you weren't crying. If your first words to her weren't you assuming she hated you.
Short gasps escaped your lips as you struggled to hold back your tears. It was all too much. You vowed to yourself you wouldn't unravel yourself to Shinobu, to give her the satisfaction that she got the most pathetic reaction from you. It would've been better if it was anger, shouting at her to shut up. So much better. Maybe you would've relished the sight of her shocked face once you give her a taste of your boiling frustration against her.
But you couldn't get mad at her, because you're not blind.
She's a respectable woman, becoming a Hashira against all odds. You've heard about what she had gone through from Gyomei himself, regarding her with the utmost respect for her determination. Even so, you can feel her, others can too. Tanjiro can smell her anger, Sanemi could tell something was bothering her most of the time, and you guess you could understand.
From what you heard, she lost her dearest sister, her world.
You could see her stare at herself in the mirror with eyes of distaste. You could see books concerning muscle building, body growth, and strength. You could see her working so relentlessly in the Butterfly Estate.
You're shy, not blind.
So, could you hold it against her? Maybe you could, but she's so much better than you. She pulled through the hardships life threw at her, while you struggled at the simplest things. Eye contact, speaking and socializing. She probably hates you for being weak, that's why she always made fun of you.
With how quiet the room was, you could hear the faint shift of her clothes as she turned to look at you. Head down, you continued to let the tears slip from your eyes, gripping at the blanket until your knuckles turned white. You couldn't see her face, and you suddenly felt ashamed. Bottom lip quivering, you squeezed your eyes shut, ignoring the numbing pain on your abdomen.
"I-I-" You sputtered. "I didn't mean to say that-"
"What do you mean?" The lack of bite in her voice startled you. Opening your eyes, your head snapped towards her. Her fingers were laced together, face devoid of any emotion but you could see the faintest of smiles on her lips. No matter what she was thinking inside her head, she always held a smile. A pang of guilt hit your chest.
"Sorry- I didn't mean i-it..." At this point, your tears had stopped due to the shock of her reaction. This was certainly not how you imagined this would turn out, but you could only muster a frown, sniffling. "I..." You honestly didn't know what to say.
It was hard to read Shinobu from there.
"Why do you think I hate you?" She asked in a small voice. You gave her an incredulous look, you can tell she isn't joking either. Hesitating, you rubbed the back of your neck. "Well, don't you?"
She shook her head. You thought you were over from all the shock, but it just doubled. "Why would I?"
Irritation spiked in your heart, brow twitching ever so slightly. Is she feigning innocence? Because that's just too far. "What- what?? You said all of those mean things to me!" You snapped, gritting your teeth once more. "You poked fun at me all the time!"
Realization clicked inside Shinobu, tightening the grip in her hands. Oh. Oh. She grimaced. "But I did that so you'd know I liked you." Shinobu blurted out before she could stop herself.
Everything froze for a moment.
Shinobu's face went from blank and deep in thought, to horrified as her eyes fixed on yours. You choked on your spit.
"What."
"I-I-" Shinobu, surprisingly, lost her composure, a faint red hue painting her cheeks. Honestly, you could feel your face burning up. She liked you. Shinobu Kocho. You felt like passing out this instant. She cleared her throat, forcing a strained smile upon her lips as she averted her eyes away from you.
"Why didn't you tell me?" If it was a different situation, you would've snapped at her for changing the subject. You're relieved she did. "If... if I hurt you so much, why didn't you tell me?" Her eyes gazed back to years, pleading for an answer. Pleasing for you to be honest. You took a deep breath, struggling to maintain eye contact even in a serious situation like this.
"I didn't want to say something that'd hurt you..." You relented, turning your head up to stare at the ceiling. "You've been through a lot and I thought... You just hated me for being weak, like Iguro-san did. Plus... I didn't know how..." Biting your bottom lip, breathing became easy as you said your last bit of words. It honestly felt good to finally speak up.
You wouldn't know until then, but your words shattered her heart. Even if you were hurt by her teasing, you were still so considerate of her feelings. Considerate you might say something that might hurt her. But you didn't pity her, you thought she was strong.
No, she wasn't. If she was strong, she wouldn't have hurt you by teasing and could've admitted it in your face that she wanted to be with you.
"I'm sorry."
"Huh?" You blinked, turning your head to her again.
"I'm sorry." She repeated, louder this time. Her small, but rough, calloused hands took one of yours into hers, fingers caressing your own blemishes, trailing her fingertips on the lines of your palm as her intense gaze never left you. You could feel it. The guilt. "I'm sorry that I hurt you, L/n-san... I should've been more considerate with how you feel... I should've taken the hints... Is-is this why you didn't come here? To my estate?"
You hesitated but gave her a nod in the end.
Her gut twisted, hand trembling lightly against yours. You could've died because of her. "I'm sorry." She said once more, then again and again. Shinobu closed her eyes as her tears began to run down her cheeks. "I didn't mean to make you feel that way, Y/n... I-I thought- I just- I'm so sorry."
You didn't know what to say, but your heart clenched at the sight before you. The usual composed, calm, and smiling Shinobu just broke down in front of you, begging for your forgiveness. Both of you misunderstood one another, but it led to both of you getting hurt. You squeezed your hand against her's and she choked out a sob.
Relief; is what you felt. You're relieved that Shinobu didn't hate you and that she liked you. You're relieved that she regretted everything she said, that she felt immense guilt for what she had done. She blamed herself, but you didn't. You blamed yourself, for the most part, if you just had spoken up to her, this would've never happened.
She wouldn't have to worry over your near death.
But you were glad she let herself be vulnerable to you. You were glad to see the woman you dreaded to see again in a new light. She wanted to get a reaction from you didn't she? She pushed you to talk to others. It was her way of trying to help you without revealing too much of her feelings.
Yet her words stung your heart. This has been going on for months so you can't just ignore everything she said. She had been too cruel, unfair, and inconsiderate. You didn't know where you got the sudden confidence, maybe you just needed to cry it all out and tell Shinobu how you felt. You wanted to take back the control of yourself, not your emotions.
You wanted to forgive her, but couldn't, because it hurt. So, the right thing to say is—
"No." You said flatly. "I don't accept your apology."
Shinobu could feel her world plummet to the ground and crush her into oblivion. Of course, she should've seen it coming. She hurt you. Gosh, she's such a fool. You wriggled your hand out of her's and suddenly she felt cold and empty like your touch was the only thing that was grounding her to reality.
She could only nod at you, her face fell as she made a move to walk away. To leave you. You grabbed her wrist, stopping her. "But you could earn it," You stated, pulling her back to you, "For my forgiveness." That made her smile return to her face. Soft and relieved, genuine. She took a chair and sat near your bed, your hand into hers. She refused to let go.
"I will do my best." She vowed, planting a small kiss on your knuckles. Her cheeks burned. "Starting from here. I'll nurse you back to health, I'll make the Butterfly Estate as comfortable as it can get. For you to feel at home, for you to trust me to let me help you again."
Her voice was small and shaky. Vulnerable. To you, for you. Your heart swelled as you squeezed her hand.
You wanted to forgive Shinobu. You didn't want to reject her. Not when she regretted everything, not when she was so eager to earn your forgiveness... Not when she gave you her most genuine smile. You planned on forgiving her, you were about to immediately do so, but you held yourself back.
Her words stung. They were heavy and you aren't sure if you'd recover quickly from them, even if she said she did it because she chose that method to show she liked you. Your confidence was almost shattered beyond recovery. It was unfair to you, and she understood that. You didn't want to get into a relationship with her when you still felt like avoiding her. When you still felt too weak for her.
Both of you can wait for a time when you've forgiven her.
You wanted to apologize too, but you stopped yourself. It probably would make her feel worse.
"You're worse than Tomioka-san," You said instead, out of the blue. Shinobu's eyes shot up to yours, shocked. That was a first. She could hear the teasing tone in your voice, which left her baffled. "I think he got the gist of what flirting is, but you on the other hand," You whistled while you gave her an unimpressed look, "That was horrible."
The corners of Shinobu's lips curled up. You never gave her a reaction to satisfy her, but now you're showing her your real colors. You weren't sure yourself as to why you did, but it felt natural. After crying, admitting, and talking to Shinobu, your chest felt lighter. You felt like you can breathe easier. Confident. It wasn't much, but you felt so happy for yourself.
"Ah, so this is how you are when you're not so shy, hm?" Her smile widened when she saw you smile back, rubbing at the back of your neck with reddening cheeks.
This felt natural. It's probably why it felt a bit easier to be yourself. You're shy, but when it comes to close people, you're more open. Shinobu has spoken to you a lot, she took care of your injuries and would often ask how you're faring every time you meet.
It didn't strike you how much she cared until now. Damn her and her teasing.
"I'll stop with the hurtful words, Y/n... If that's what you want."
You let out a small laugh, wincing when your abdomen began to hurt. Flashing her another smile, you intertwined your fingers with hers, features softening. "You? Not teasing? It'd feel unnatural. Just don't go too far, okay?"
She nodded, leaning against your touch when you cradled her face with your hand. "I promise," She muttered, closing her eyes, "I don't want to hurt you anymore."
You beamed at her.

In her sweet arms
Iguro Obanai x wife!reader
Genre : fluff
Requested by no one
*Smooch*
“Mn.. Obanai ?” she blinked softly at the soft kiss that landed on her cheek, it seemed hesitant, as she knew that the serpent hashira always tried to show his love language, private.
“Yes, my love ?” He snuggles into her neck, tired from his recent mission, almost a cat switched roles with him at the spot.
“You finished your mission so fast I didn’t realize you were here…welcome home dear..” she smiled softly as she leaned to his touch, nuzzling to him.
“Oh, yes it was nothing but a simple demon hunt, it didn’t take too long for me to find its hideout.” a little smile made it to his face but was hidden under his bandages as he kissed her forehead softly, before pulling back looking at her in the eyes, “how are you doing today ? You seem happy.”
Stares at his heterochromia eyes before smiling gently “today seems like a good day, I can’t help but feel joy about it dear..”
“I’m glad to hear that..” glances shyly as he murmured softly “would you mind if we went to bed early ? I want to spend some quality time with you until i get my next mission” he said as he awaited for her answer.
She hummed in agreement as he started walking towards their shared room, leading her by his hand on her wrist.
She then went to get the futon out of the closet, readying it up for the both of them, also putting a small cloth next to the futon for the little snake Kaburamaru, so it can sleep comfortably , and lighting up some candles.
“Are you sure you don’t need anything from me today ? I can prepare some food for you if you’d like ?” He asked as he laid down on the futon, waiting for her to join him.
Shakes her head as she laid next to him on the futon, “don’t worry, love I’m all good.” She smiled softly almost showing her gratitude in there.
“Hm…then let’s cuddle for a while..” he murmurs tiredly as he pulled her close to himself, resting his head against her shoulder.
She rubbed circles on his back, as they cuddled on the futon in their shared room, it must’ve been a tiresome mission, she thought.
He sighed deeply as he relaxes into her, letting out a small yawn.
“Take a nap, Obanai, I’ll wake you up by your next mission, for now just rest..” she stroked his hair gently, letting him calm and relaxes in her arms.
He blushed slightly as he heard what she said, feeling somewhat embarrassed, “Thank you…for everything…” he whispered quietly.
She smiled as she hummed a sweet tune, as he snuggled Closer to her, laying his head on her chest “I’m sorry for letting you do such dangerous missions…” he mumbled softly.
“We fight for our humanity, so it can live through those next years, if we don’t the demons will take over us, it’s a great feeling knowing you were once a hero for this country
fighting for it with your life, even if the mission were hard, being just brave, not caring for the open wounds the one might have, just remembering the smiles of our country’s people, live with us in our hearts, so you don’t
need to apologize love, we both do our jobs like the others, protecting the humanity and finishing off the demons that roam in our country..” she smiled softly as she spoke with kindness, bravery laced with her tone and mostly love for her country.
He nuzzled to her, closing his eyes as he enjoyed the moment, “it feels nice when you speak about it like that, but there are many who wouldn’t see it that way.” He said as he opened his eyes again, glancing at his lover and wife lovingly.
She glanced at him with kind eyes as she smiled softly, “Some people may see it as a burden, scared for their lives than their country’s life, and it’s all just human feelings and nature, of course there is going to be time where we’re scared, happy, sad, angry, it’s the basics of human life, some people may be
arrogant, cold and harsh but deep inside they feel love for their country, living for it, for their love of life, for their parents, any of us would feel those moments when meeting some grave moments, it’s just the nature of humans, and
it’s a good thing it evolves by time where it’s in a good way or a bad way..” she spoke, showing respect and kindness for those that once lived and still do, to those who fought bravely for their country.
He looked up at her, smiling happily beneath his bandages, as he looked down at her face, “You’re right… I guess I have been lucky enough to meet someone who understands me, and has given me strength to carry on.”
She chuckled softly, as it was a hearty chuckle as she pointed with her finger on his chest where his heart was, “I’m glad enough, that I have someone who I can share my love for this life, my sibling nor my parents liked the way I talked about this country to them, so I’m glad I have someone like you, Obanai…”
She glanced lovingly at him with kind eyes, his smile grew bigger as he nodded happily, “you make me very happy, little one…”
“Now now, you need to take a nap, so you’re in full energy for your missions…” she smiled, looking at him lovingly.
He nodded, as he closed his eyes, ready to take a small nap, “are you going to sleep, soon ?” He asked curiously.
“I’ll stay awake, I don’t have that much sleepiness anyways, you rest, you had a rough day and going off to a mission soon later, so you have to rest to protect others..” she held him close in her arms as she gave him a closed eye smile.
“Sleep well Obanai..I’ll make sure to wake you up for your mission, now just rest..” she planted a kiss on his forehead as she glanced over to the small white snake that was comfortable sleeping on the cloth she gave him.
He nodded, soon as he drifted to slumber, she murmured softly, “lovely dreams then..” as she stroked his head gently, have a warm smile on her face.

I have a really peculiar and specific request (came from my mind), could you make shinobu care/adopt a child demon? (a demon that is "harmless", like nezuko).
Tumblr media
Shinobu with a Demon Child | Headcanons
She'd be very skeptical at first. Not only is she bad with kids, but she doesn't trust demons in general
I have a feeling that this is something she's probably considered before, since she has a gentle poison alongside all of the others
She feels very strongly about killing demons, but she's not going to cause unnecessary pain
When it comes to child demons, it might be a little harder for her to grapple with
There is very obviously a cure out there, they just don't know what it is yet
So it wouldn't be worth her energy or her poison to kill this little creature when there may very well be a way to turn them human again
So she spares them and, under the guidance of Ubuyashiki, takes them home
She tells herself that it's to 'study' them but it's only half true
The demon child will need a stronger composition to handle the wisteria that lingers in the Butterfly Estate, so the first few weeks are difficult.
Shinobu would compare the experience to having to handle a colic baby - constantly fussy, in need of attention, and distressed. She loses an embarrassing amount of sleep during those nights, though she'll never admit it.
Those nights also end up making her more attached to the child, having to sit up all day and night with them, holding them in some way, just to soothe their constant crying.
She'd never claim them as hers, at least not outwardly
She's thinking it, though. She's absolutely thinking it.
She's quick to become defensive if somebody questions her motives in keeping them. If it was another Pillar, expect copious animosity
Tomioka would NEVER
They're the first demon to receive the cure when she and Tamayo finally finish it. Even before Nezuko. Shinobu made the antidote - it was her decision in who got to use it first.
Even if she hardly gets any time with them before going to face Douma, it's enough for her

Cg Shinobu/Little Giyuu
Giyuu was currently regressed. He had allowed himself to regress due to the fact that he would not be having any knew missions to do for at least a week, and that he was in the Water Estate so he was sure that no one would bother him. He had no idea that the second fact would be wrong.
Shinobu was outside of the Water Estate, and without knocking or letting Giyuu know she was there, she entered. She didn't see any signs that Giyuu was there at first until she heard giggling. She followed the sound until she found a regressed Giyuu. "Giyuu?" She called out to him.
The giggling suddenly stopped as he realized she was there. He slowly turned around to look at Shinobu, concerned at what her reaction would be. He was scared that she would find it weird and tell all the other Hashira, and they would like him even less than they already do, but he got a different reaction from Shinobu instead. "Hey, little one." She greeted him, taking Giyuu by surprise.
"How..." Giyuu trailed off, but he didn't have to finish the sentence for Shinobu to understand what he was asking. "I do know what age regression is, Giyuu, and I also know that you are regressed right now." She told him. Giyuu just looked at her in shock.
"I treat injured Slayers all the time, so it's not like I haven't seen many of their coping mechanisms, one being age regression." Shinobu informed Giyuu. "So you don't find me weird?" Giyuu asked. Shinobu shook her head. "Am I correct in assuming you don't have a caregiver?" She asked. Giyuu nodded. "Well then, I wouldn't be apposed to being your caregiver if you want that?" Shinobu offered, and again, Giyuu nodded.
"What do you want to do then?" Shinobu questioned. Giyuu greased two stuffies, handing one to Shinobu. "Play?" He asked. "Of course." Shinobu replied, and she spent the rest of the day getting acquainted with little Giyuu.

Hashira With Half Demon Reader
Tomioka Giyu X Reader, Kyojuro Rengoku X Reader, Kocho Shinobu X Reader
Summary: Hashira with a half demon reader that surprises them with their dedication to human life or bonds
Requested by: Anon
Warning: Injuries to the reader
Tomioka Giyuu
🌊 The first time that Giyu met you was when he came to save Tanjiro’s family, you had been following Muzen and tried to save the family but given you status as a half demon you were no match for him.
🌊 Your demon blood art protected you from death but you were still gravely injured. Giyu assumed that you were dead considering your slower than normal heart rate and even slower breathing.
🌊 However, he saw you again a couple of weeks later when he was on a mission, this was the first time that you talked as he demanded to know what you were doing at the Kamado house.
🌊 You explained to him that you were following Muzen and that you had been working with Demon Slayers for a long time, he didn’t believe you until you pulled out a letter given to you by the master informing those that you come across of your situation.
Over the next 2 years you would end up saving his life a few times, however there was one time when you couldn’t help him, not on your own you carried him all the way back to the Butterfly Mansion where you were scrutinized and chased away.
Giyu hadn’t seen you since you had saved his life, he had felt your energy around but given you nature you always seemed to disappear faster then he could locate where you were, he was starting to think that he was never going to see you again, that is until you helped save Tanjiro and Nezuko, unfortunately you were taken as a prisoner with them and for some of the Hashira that was the in they were looking for, they had all heard of you but Giyu was the only one that had met you because you opted to stay away from people as much as possible.
You were knelt on the floor in front of the Hashira, Sanemi had dragged you out along with Nezuko and while you knew that he was going to escalate the situation quite rapidly, you had a plan of your own to de-escalate everything when came to it, it got there much faster than you thought it would and when Sanemi had tried to stab Nezuko you put yourself between the blade and the box effectively shocking everyone into silence if even for a second, it was all you needed to separate the teens from the Hashira moving both Tanjiro and Nezuko into the house and then put yourself between them. “(Y/N).” You heard the master talk before you saw him.
“Sorry for bleeding all over your floor.” You coughed slightly wiping the blood from your mouth.
“It’s been a long time since you visited.” He said softly “you haven’t been isolating yourself again have you.”
“I’ve been keeping a safe distance.” You answered honestly. The Hashira all watched the interaction, each seeming confused by the friendly nature by which you were addressed, they all assumed that you still being alive was some kind of a business deal rather than any real affection held for you. The conversation came to a halt again when you felt a set of small hands pressed against the wound of your back, small painless fire appearing at your chest before the wound was gone. “Thanks little one.” you turned to Nezuko ruffling your hair slightly as the twins explained what happened to the Master.
After deciding what would happen with Nezuko, you promised that you’d come and see them at some point and see how they were getting on, it was then down to business “what have you found so far?” The Master asked as he sat with you in the office, the Hashira dotted around the room all tense except for Giyu.
“He’s going to the entertainment district next, I assume one of the moons is there.” You answered. “He’s very interested in those siblings if I had to take a guess I’d say he didn’t know that he turned Nezuko, I saw the aftermath of that massacre but the one thing that confused e was that he hadn’t killed them for food and they definitely weren’t a threat to him, even for him that was ruthless if it was only killing them for fun.”
“So?” The Master asked.
“He was trying to turn the whole family, but she was the only one that survived.” You answered.
“Why would he do that?” Giyu was the one who spoke and you looked at him and sighed.
“I don’t know, I can’t say that I know a lot about him, he doesn’t like me very much.” You shrugged. “I’m worth nothing to him since there’s human blood in my veins.”
“Thank you for your report.” The Master smiled nodded, you nodded before stopping back and allowing the rest of the meeting to continue as normal.
Giyu had been waiting for you when the meeting was over and he called out to you before you could disappear “I never got to thank you for saving me before.” He said and you looked at him and smiled.
“Don’t worry about it, that was literally years ago now.” You answered.
“Can I ask you something?” He asked.
“Mmm.” You hummed.
“Why did you always run away before I could find you?” He asked.
“I tend to stay away from people, less chances for misunderstandings that way.” You explained “getting too close to people never ends well for me.”
“Well people don’t like me very much either, so what about working together?” He asked.
“I’m dangerous.” You answered.
“I have a sword that could kill you in one swing, we’re both dangerous.” He reminded you and you looked at him and sighed, given everything he could definitely kill you if something happened maybe it wasn’t a bad idea for you to stay with him for a little while.
“Fine.” You answered.
Kojiro Rengoku
🔥 The first time that Rengoku met you he was torn, though he outwardly showed his hate towards you, as it was explained you were still born of a human mother and she was the one that brought you to the Demon Slayer Corps when you were younger for protection from Muzen.
🔥 He didn’t see you the same way that he saw other demons, though there were things that were different about you, you needed food to survive but you’ve never been able to taste it, you could see, hear and smell better than any human and your reflexes were flawless but cutting your skin was like slicing paper.
🔥 You looked human and that was the part that he struggled with the most, your eyes were the same color as any other human, same as your hair and skin, you didn’t even bat an eye when Sanemi cut into his palm to let his blood spill down his arm.
🔥 The first time that he was sent on a mission with you, he realized that there were some things about him that you struggled with, you seemed to flinch when he talked, he soon realized that his voice was too loud for you but you never said anything.
🔥 He realized that you weren’t very confrontational and you kept yourself to yourself a lot unless it was absolutely called for it.
You had been on a mission with him but this was the first time that one had taken place inside of a village, the demon that you were looking for was taking younger children, you seemed a little on edge since you had both left, Rengoku noticed and worried about that since nothing really seemed to bother you too much, he wasn’t sure what it was and he wouldn’t figure it out until you found the most recent abductees.
You crouched in front of the children smiling softly at them “we’re going to get you out of here.” You promised as you made quick work of untying all of them, you pointed to Rengoku told them all to follow him, however you were unfortunate because you had just managed to get all the of the kid untied when the demon came back “Get them out of here, I’ll get rid of him.”
“You will not be able to kill him!” He answered.
“Neither will you if they are still here, get them out of here!” You ordered quickly moving to deflect an attack meant for the Hashira. “Go!” When he started moving the kids from harm, you were able to focus back on the demon in front of you.
“He told all of us that if we ever saw you, to kill you as painfully as we could.” The demon sneered. “A half breed like you dirties the name of demons like us.”
“You forget that you used to be human too.” You glared as he moved forward, slashing at you and catching your shoulder as you dodged to the side.
“Even your blood smells revolting.” He growled out as he flicked it from his fingers.
“Thank you for your opinion.” You grumbled before moving forward and kicking him in the stomach. He flew backwards hitting against the wall, he was winded but not wounded, it only took him a couple of seconds to recover, he moved quickly sticking his hand straight through your stomach pulling back, you staggered as you struggled to stay standing.
“A cheap imitation of a demon.” He smirked as he leaned down “any last words?”
“Enjoy this, he’ll kill you before you even pick your next victim.” You breathed, you refused to fall until you were actually dead but before he could pull his claws over your neck his head fell from his shoulders with a gust of heat.
“(Y/N)!?” Rengoku caught you as your legs buckled underneath you and everything went dark.
When you opened your eyes you hadn’t expected to be in a soft bed, you groaned as you sat up, you didn’t recognise where you were but the moment that you made a sound someone was leaning over you “Shinobu said you need rest.” You had never heard Rengoku’s voice as soft as this.
“I should go, I’m sure I can finish healing somewhere else, I’m only causing trouble here.” You mumbled as you stood up kicking your feet over the opposite side of the bed, your back now facing him so you didn’t actually see him stand ready to catch you as if he knew you weren’t going to get to far, when you feet hit the floor your legs gave out under you and he easily caught you lifting you onto the bed.
“You need rest.” He said again, “You are not bothering anyone here. Why do you want to leave so badly?”
“I could hurt people here, if I’m not here no one gets hurt.” you answered.
“I don’t believe that you would hurt anyone.” He answered. “You showed me that you value human life far more than your own, you deserve the place that you’ve been given amongst the slayers.”
“Thank you but that doesn’t change my nature.” You sighed.
“I will watch over you, you need rest.” Rengoku suggested.
“You aren’t going to let me leave are you?” You asked, he just gave you a bright smile as he watched your next move. “Fine… I’ll rest.”
Kocho Shinobu
🦋 Shinobu met you with the others but she got to know you better when she was asked to find a way to kill you at your request.
🦋 The Master had introduced you properly and given her your pitch and reasoning for wanting her to create a poison that was capable of taking you down, you feared that your demon side would later become a problem.
🦋 She got to know you better over the time that she collected samples.
🦋 She noticed that you were different from most other demons and while she had no desire to take you on, her sister would have no questions asked.
🦋 You weren’t even swayed by the number of injured slayers that found their way to her house, you kept to yourself away from the commotion until you saw something that they never had.
You recognised the patterned rash that moved up the arm of the slayer, there was a bite on his arm but no other wounds “what is this?” Shinobu asked as she tried to alleviate the symptoms while someone matched the rash to a poison that they had already discovered.
“You won’t find that in any books.” You spoke from your place near the door of the infirmary.
“What are you talking about?” She asked, turning to you.
“This poison comes from a demon in the east mountains, I’ve never been able to track him down but I come across his victims.” You mumbled.
“Well how do you cure him?” She asked, her back was turned to him as he sat up but you moved quickly pulling her away and shoving your wrm into his mouth, he bit down immediately, you grit your teeth as he tore his mouth from your arm.
“His rash.” Shinobu pointed to his arm where he seemed to now be sporting a normal bite wound.
“That only works within the first 48 hours.” You sighed “he should be fine, it’ll be like treating any other bite wound.”
“And your blood?” She asked.
“It’s just healed the poison, I watched the others and they haven’t developed any adverse effects.” You explained.
“Thank you.” She said softly as she turned back to the boy, you turned to walk away. “I’ll treat your bute after I’ve finished with him.”
“I’ll be fine.” You answered as you walked away leaving her with the human patient.
She found you an hour later in the room that she had given you “Here you are.” She sighed when she walked into the room, she grabbed your arm, cleaning and wrapping the wound with very few words. “I want to ask you something.”
“What?” You asked.
“I want to take more of your blood to see just how well it can heal.” She answered and you looked at you, she expected you to say no but instead you nodded. “Really?”
“I’ll help however I can.” You answered.
“For what?” She asked.
“I hate my demon side as much as the rest of you and I want to know that you can kill me if I ever give into it, I don’t want to hurt anyone to get hurt because of me.” You explained.
“Don’t worry I won’t let you hurt anyone.” She assured you.

HELLO HOPE UR HAVING A NICE DAY! i would like to request a shinobu x fem!reader(she/her) :) ok so, this is when shinobu is in her past personality and kanae is still alive, reader has a crush on the grumpy shinobu and tries to court her but, shinobu denies all of the reader’s confessions because shes scared to be in a relationship considering the world theyre in. (obv reader doesnt give up but i wouldnt either) fast travel to kanaes death and reader tries to cheer shinobu up but suddenly shinobu just snaps at the reader (due to stress and overwhelmness) and tells reader to leave her alone for good and reader does just that. reader stops with trying to court shinobu and shinobu will lowkey miss the readers shenanigans and shinobu deeply regrets yelling at reader, so shinobu goes to reader and apologizes and they live happily ever after! I HOPE THAT WASNT TOO COMPLICATED! I TRIED TO MAKE IT SIMPLE BUT MY BRAIN IS IMAGINING SO MUCH AND I HAD RO GET THIS ONE OUT 😍 I LOVE ALL OF YOUR FICS AND YOUVE BEEN MY FAV SHINOBU WRITER IN TUMBLR! HAVE A NICE DAY/NIGHT -⭐️
A Trade of Equal Value
Shinobu Kochou x She/Her Reader
A/N: I had a pretty good time writing this one (even if I was still working on it at 2am last night lol)! The timeline is also kinda scuffed because I didn’t want to write in the four years between Kanae’s death and where Shinobu is mentally by the time Tanjirou and Co come around, but I still imagine her at the same age she is when the boys are introduced. I also got pretty angsty with Kanae’s death and Shinobu lashing out, but as usual, it turns out alright in the end.I feel like I should also note that Shinobu has a panic attack which I have bracketed with ‘~~~’. Shinobu even gets a little Gomez Addams-y at the end which I think is pretty nice if I do say so myself. Thanks for the request, I hope you like the result! Word Count: 4,906
“Shinobu, wait up!”
Shinobu exhaled audibly and Kanae giggled beside her, hooking her arm with Shinobu’s so that she couldn’t escape the other demon slayer quickly catching up to them.
“Be nice,” Kanae advised her.
“I’m plenty nice.” Shinobu whispered defensively. She enjoyed (Y/n)’s company more than most of the other people she had to deal with on a daily basis, but she was just getting back from a mission that lasted all night and she was too tired to cater to whatever scheme (Y/n) was cooking up this time.
“Shinobu!” (Y/n) caught up to the sisters and hugged Shinobu from behind, “And hello to you too, Kanae-san!”
“Hello, (Y/n)-chan, how was your night?” Kanae asked, nearly smirking as her rosy-cheeked sister attempted to free herself from (Y/n)’s embrace. (Y/n) showed Shinobu mercy by letting her go and walking at her side instead.
“Pretty quiet. Everything went alright on your end?”
“Just fine.” Kanae confirmed.
“Good! So, um, Shinobu,”
Oh gods, here she goes again… Shinobu braced herself.
“There is a street festival going on in downtown Tokyo tomorrow. Want to go check it out with me? As a date? Or not… whatever you are more comfortable with.”
“What a fun idea!” Kanae spoke on Shinobu’s behalf, “She’ll be happy to go with you!”
“Neesan!” Shinobu objected.
“Am I wrong?” Kanae pouted, “would you not like to spend time with (Y/n)? Should I maybe go with her instead? I wouldn’t mind getting out for the day.”
Shinobu turned her head so (Y/n) couldn’t see her face and scowled at Kanae. Never let it be said that Kanae couldn’t be as conniving as she was kind.
Shinobu had met (Y/n) during Final Selection. They had spent most of that hellish week together, quickly forming a rapport that continued even after they made it out of the wisteria forest. They went on missions together often and spent a lot of off time together too.
They grew very close, close enough that Shinobu’s mood would sour when (Y/n) wasn’t around. Close enough that Kanae felt the need to tease her about how close they walked together in the halls. Close enough that (Y/n) had confessed to Shinobu a few weeks ago and was now trying yet another courting attempt.
Shinobu enjoyed spending time with (Y/n), but if they became any closer than they already were and (Y/n) went out for a mission and never came back, Shinobu was afraid of where that would leave her. It was hard enough to lose people she had met in passing, friends, family… she didn’t want to know what it was like to lose a romantic partner too. She had already witnessed such a thing a few months back.
There was a fiancée of one slayer Shinobu had known in passing since she was a Kakushi. She had been sent to clean up a location before another demon was discovered in the area. Woefully ill-equipped to deal with the situation, she had lost her life.
When the slayer who was her betrothed had received the news, he deteriorated over the next three weeks before finally passing away in his bed at the Butterfly Estate. Shinobu had fumed over the loss.
“There was nothing wrong with him!” She had exclaimed heatedly, angry at the situation. She had been unable to find anything physically wrong with the young man in all the tests she had done.
Kanae smiled sympathetically and put her hands on Shinobu’s shoulders as they watched the Kakushi remove the covered body from the infirmary.
“Sometimes there is just no curing a broken heart,” She had replied.
“I’ll go.” Shinobu gave Kanae a warning glare when her lips split into a larger smile, then she turned back to (Y/n), making the girl jump at the intensity of her stare, “But it is not a date.”
(Y/n) closed her eyes briefly and exhaled softly through her nose before giving Shinobu a small shrug and a relaxed smile, “Understood.”
That’s how it always went. (Y/n) sweetly telling Shinobu she loved her with little gifts and proposed outings with intentions clear. It became as normal a part of their relationship as anything else they did together.
Time and time again, Shinobu would deny her, but always kept her close. She would never admit it, never give herself a moment to reflect on it, but every time (Y/n) expressed her interest in courting her, although Shinobu denied her at every turn, she always felt a sense of relief that (Y/n) was still interested in her.
There had been a few occasions where (Y/n) had gotten friendly with other people and put Shinobu on edge. These instances made her feel jealous and more irritable than what was common for the younger of the Kochou sisters, but (Y/n) always came back to her in the end, even if Shinobu had to do a little prodding behind the scenes.
Kanae had noticed one such occasion and gently scolded Shinobu for it.
“If you are not intending to pursue a courtship with (Y/n), you really mustn’t sabotage the potential for her to find someone who wants to do what you will not. That wouldn’t be fair. Don’t keep her heart if you are not going to share yours in return. Regardless of what you decide, you must treat (Y/n) well. Friend or lover. Do you understand, Shinobu?”
To be lectured by Kanae was truly humbling and even embarrassing to an extent. If Kanae actually scolded someone, one would assume they must have really deserved it. Which is why Shinobu grunted a quick, “yes”, with her eyes cast shamefully to the floor before all but stomping away.
So maybe she had gone a bit overboard interfering with (Y/n)’s sparring partner’s recovery training schedule, but in her defense, (Y/n) was her partner first. Even if she had been okay with back to back sessions, Shinobu didn’t want anything less than (Y/n)’s best when they sparred so that meant nameless-sparkly-eyed-touchy-slayer had to find something else to occupy their time.
Turning the corner after exiting Kanae’s room, she found (Y/n) waiting for her. Leaning against the wall with a couple of wooden swords in her hands, she offered one to Shinobu with a inquisitive look.
“Want to let off some steam?” She asked.
“Yeah,” Shinobu managed a small grin at the offer, taking the sword and ignoring the tingles that traveled through her body when their hands touched.
This was what she wanted, the same steadfast compatibility they had when they met in the forest. Nothing scary, just them in their most pure and uncomplicated form. Was that so wrong? Kanae shouldn’t judge Shinobu for wanting this… the only opinions that mattered in this instance were her own and (Y/n)’s, and perhaps that was true to an extent, but Kanae’s wisdom about treating (Y/n)’s heart with care should not have been so easily pushed to the back of Shinobu’s mind… because it would be the last time such advice left Kanae’s lips.
The preparations for Kanae’s funeral had simultaneously happened agonizingly slow and all too fast. The most time Shinobu had to process her sister’s death was probably in those moments holding her beaten and bloodied body waiting for the Kakushi to collect her from the battlefield. She had held her long enough to notice how her skin had gone cold as the sunrise broke over the hills much too late to save the Hashira from her unforgiving fate. The emptiness she felt when the Kakushi finally arrived and gently took Kanae’s weight off of her almost felt worse than the initial death.
But there was no time to dwell on that. There was work to do. Cremation, service, paperwork, becoming the head of the mansion and taking on all of the duties that entailed. Meetings with Oyakata-sama himself and his condolences and hopes for her moving forward. She had already been close to becoming eligible for a Hashira position herself, but she hadn’t thought she would soon be replacing her sister instead of sitting beside her.
~~~
When she could finally be alone, Shinobu collapsed onto the tatami floor of her bedroom and wept, Kanae’s haori tightly wound within her grasp. What would she do? What would she do without her? Her sister, who loved and understood her more than any other, gone with one last, rattling breath that even now echoed within Shinobu’s ears. Her own breathing now was too shallow, her eyes stung and she couldn’t see. Her stomach felt cold and heart twisted so viscously in her chest that she felt physically ill.
Hands suddenly wrapped around her biceps and she tried to pull away, still struggling to breathe. The hands left for but a moment before they returned, fingers touching more cautiously than before. Slowly running up and down her arms to her hands and then back up to shoulders and the back of her neck, continuing the motion repeatedly.
Over time, the static in her ears dissipated and she was able to hear a soft voice, urging her to breath. She suddenly felt so exhausted that she couldn’t keep herself upright and fell forward, but instead of the floor, forehead fell against something more solid, but not hard. The arms wrapped around her and the voice continued to coax her to breathe, now gently swaying her from side to side.
~~~
Shinobu had no idea how much time had passed when she finally had the strength to pull away, seeing (Y/n) looking over her with worry. It made her feel so small and powerless and… and angry.
“Why,” Shinobu rasped sharply, “are you here?”
(Y/n) flinched backward at Shinobu’s tone, swallowing a lump in the back of her throat before answering.
“With everything that happened, I was worried about you. I could hear you from the hall, you scared me.”
“So?” Shinobu spat, trying to get up, but her legs weren’t cooperating. (Y/n) reached forward to help her, “Don’t.” Shinobu quickly rebuffed.
(Y/n)’s hands returned to her lap, tightly clasped. “I’m sorry. I’ve never seen you like this before. Please, tell me how I can help.”
“I don’t want your help.” Shinobu growled. “Why, why can’t you just leave me alone? You just can’t take no for an answer, can you?” Shinobu wasn’t yelling, but the harshness of her tone was just as sharp in (Y/n)’s ears. “Help me,” She scoffed, though it sounded more like a whimper in her ears, making her more angry, “unless you can bring the dead back to life, stay the hell away from me.”
“Shinobu, please—“
Shinobu was so full of rage and anguish, her misdirected anger only became more pointed. The lack of control was eating at her, she felt like she was lost on treacherous seas, trying to stay afloat by dragging (Y/n) under the churning black water so that she could maybe get just one full breath without swallowing the salty brine. It would be so easy. The one thing that she could control.
“This isn’t something you can fix! This isn’t a fairy tale where you get the girl by saying a few sappy half-baked sentiments. How many times do I have to tell you that I don’t want you?”
The words struck (Y/n) deeply, but she tried to power through, “That’s not why I’m here, Shinobu. I swear I’m not expecting anything to change. You’re hurting, and as your friend I—“
“You aren’t my friend!” Shinobu shouted. “Time and time again you ask to court me. Time and time again I refuse you. Your narcissism knows no bounds... The kindness you are attempting to show me is a forgery! A means to the end you keep badgering me for! You are reprehensible, a thorn wedged in my side, I can’t stand you, can’t you see that?! Leave!”
Shinobu’s heavy breathing was deafening in the quiet left behind by her words. Glaring down at (Y/n), she felt no lighter. No weight had been lifted off of her shoulders. In fact, as the sound of silence grew, the air around them only seemed to become thicker.
After stewing in the silence, (Y/n) attempted to speak. Her voice cracked on the first word and with it, Shinobu’s heart. She slowly got to her feet as if she had been physically beaten, avoiding Shinobu’s eyes as she turned away to wipe at her own.
“I’m sorry,” she whispered through a hitched sob that made Shinobu’s blood chill, “I’m sorry, I didn’t know you felt like that.”
Tell her you don’t. Take it all back, hurry. Try to make it better. Don’t let her slip away too. A hurried whisper within Shinobu’s mind pleaded, but she found herself mute, still and rigid as a statue. Her mind was fuzzy, yet somehow working in overdrive, but she appeared to not have the means to do anything about it.
“I never wanted you to feel uncomfortable. It was hard enough asking the first time, I wouldn’t have asked again if Kanae-san,” another choked sob, “if she hadn’t encourage me to keep trying, if she hadn’t sounded so sure that you felt the same, I wouldn’t have bothered you after that...
Even so, I should have noticed how you really felt. I didn’t pay close enough attention, yet I still claimed to love you. I really am the worst, huh?”
Shinobu could see the terrible false smile (Y/n) wore as she slowly slid the door open and shuffled into the hall. The voice in Shinobu’s head screamed at her to move, to speak, to stop (Y/n) from slipping out of the room completely, but she still stood stubbornly frozen.
“I’m sorry, I’ll leave you alone. I promise.”
The door closed, furthering the chasm between them and casting Shinobu’s room in darkness once more. She could hear (Y/n)’s footsteps fading, but instead of following, she slid back down to the floor in a strange state between wakefulness and unconsciousness. Not quite grasping the gravity of this event until much later when the other girls finally had her eating and sleeping properly again and she had some time to reflect.
(Y/n) had made good on her promise to leave Shinobu alone. When Shinobu had worked up the courage to find her and apologize for all the awful things she said nearly a month ago, the room that was all but officially (Y/n)’s was uniform with the other empty rooms spread across the mansion.
Kiyo had found her standing in the doorway and timidly approached.
“(Y/n)-san told us that she was going to ask the Stone Hashira if he was willing to take on another Tsuguko. Her crow sent us a letter a couple days later. She was accepted. The Kakushi helped relocate her belongings.”
“Oh.” Shinobu softly exclaimed, because what else could she say? It was either that or sink to the floor like a slug and Shinobu wasn’t quite ready to go that route yet.
“But now that you know, you could go talk to her. If you wanted to.” Kiyo cautiously added. She and the other girls may or may not have caught wind of what had happened, but were too nervous to try to interfere before now.
“Thank you, Kiyo. I think I will do just that.”
***
“Himejima-san, please.”
Shinobu couldn’t believe that Gyomei of all people was getting in her way of speaking to (Y/n). The man who had saved her and introduced her to a cultivator had been a father figure to her for years now and to have him standing in her way like he was now stung.
“It is not my decision to make,” Gyomei shook his head, still standing firm, “She does not wish to see you. Why that is, I do not know, but it is the decision she has made and one that I must honor.”
“I need to see her, it’s urgent.” She insisted.
“Is her health failing?”
“No.”
“Does she have a mission?”
“…No.”
“Then I see no reason to yield, young Kochou.” Gyomei shook his head woefully, “But I can tell this is important to you, if you have a message for her, I shall relay it for you if you are comfortable.”
Shinobu stared past Gyomei, looking longingly at the towering fence that enclosed his estate. She honed in on the sound of slayers training beyond the walls, hoping to hear (Y/n)’s voice among the shouts and grunts and clacking practice swords, but heard no such sound in the commotion.
“Can I write it out myself?” She asked Gyomei. He nodded.
“I will allow it… Again, I don’t know what this is about, but take time and care in writing what you want to say. You can send En by when you’ve completed your letter or hand it off to myself.”
“Very well. I shall do that.” With one last look at the tall fence, Shinobu turned to leave and Gyomei spoke up once more.
“Do not get disheartened if you do not get the results you hope for right away. Find a happy medium between patience and persistence and perhaps she will come around.”
“I’ll keep it in mind. Thank you.”
As soon as Shinobu got home, she locked herself in her office for hours and every attempted draft of apology could not even begin to touch on all she regretted. Her waste bin was overflowing by the time she had something that didn’t immediately make her want to rip the offending paper in two. Before she could change her mind, she sent En off with the letter and waited anxiously for a reply. Hoping beyond hope they could go back to where they were before. Shinobu needed that familiarity and stability. She craved it. Fortunately, she didn’t have to wait terribly long for a reply, but unfortunately it read,
I’m relieved to hear you are in a better place, but just as you have had time to reflect on that night, I have as well.
Your words that night hurt me in a way that I’ve never been hurt before, made worse by the fact that it was you who had said them to me.
Part of me wanted to be furious with you, I thought that I should be, but I wasn’t. I was empathetic to your loss and the new responsibilities that were thrust upon you. But even though I tried to convince myself that you lashed out because of the pressure, I believe there was some truth in what you had said.
If I could go back in time, I would have just kept my feelings to myself to spare us all the trouble. Despite this, I am happy that you hope to patch things up between us.
However, in my reflection, I came to the conclusion that even after all of this, I am still hopelessly in love with you despite everything. In the interest of preserving my heart, and saving you from the discomfort of my affections, I do not think it wise for us to reconnect. At least, not until I manage to get over you. I don’t know how long that will take, but given that not a waking hour passes that I don’t think about you, it probably won’t be any time soon.
I’m sorry if it makes you uncomfortable to read this, I’m just trying to be honest. Tell the girls I said hi, and please take care of yourself.
Wishing you the best,
(Y/n)
“Wishing you the best?” Shinobu hissed under her breath, the paper crinkling between the harsh pinching of her fingertips. “There is no best of me without you, idiot.”
Shinobu allowed herself time to cry, but not a lot. Gyomei’s words were still on her mind. If she wanted (Y/n) back, she wasn’t going to get her by crying, but now she needed to make a very important choice.
Continue to push for friendship, or confront the romantic feelings that she had fought like hell to keep hidden. Was accepting those feelings and the vulnerability the would bring worse than not having (Y/n) in her life at all?
“Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.” Shinobu softly pondered the old proverb. Kanae had been a fan of the saying and Shinobu had never really understood the sentiment until now.
Though she was going to fight like hell to be worthy of the love she had lost and reclaim it once more.
***
“Another letter? En, that’s three just today. You don’t have to bend to her every whim.” (Y/n) fussed over the bird, setting her up with fresh water and seed.
“It is important to Shinobu, so it is important to me.” The loyal crow proudly stated, though she was very grateful for (Y/n)’s continued hospitality.
“Just try not to over do it.” (Y/n) sighed and unfurled the letter, quickly catching the pressed flowers within and quietly cursing as bits of the brittle plants flaked off and fell to the floor. She carefully paced the dried flowers on her desk and scanned over the letter, finding it to be another poem. “What is she trying to achieve here? Why is she doing this?”
“To win back your trust, your heart,” En cocked her head left and then right, “Is it not obvious? Should I suggest being more direct?”
“Why does she want my heart so badly all of the sudden?” A bit of irritation slipping into her tone, “Is it something she wants to seal up in a jar? Bet she’d enjoying having it up on a shelf in the lab. Maybe a paper weight on her desk.”
“You humans vex me,” En’s feathers ruffled, “just give each other something shiny and make up.”
“If only it were that simple.” (Y/n) murmured, finishing her curt response to Shinobu’s poem, denying her a visit once again. She then placed the letter beside En. “You can take your time heading back, and if she tries to insist on a fourth delivery today, turn her down for the good of your health.”
En released a low caw that could only be interpreted as a scoff. Promptly scooping up the letter and taking her leave, passing Gyomei in the hallway.
“(Y/n), is all well? You are late for training.”
(Y/n) winced, “I’m so sorry Master. I got distracted.”
“Kochou-san again?”
“Yes…”
“And you still will not see her?” (Y/n)’s silence was answer enough. “Why?”
“I guess when it comes right down to it, I’m scared. Whether it’s me putting my own heart out there, or her actively trying to obtain it, I feel like it will inevitably end the same and I don’t think I could go through that again.”
Gyomei hummed thoughtfully, “I think I understand your concerns. Matters of the heart are certainly not easy. Especially when it has already been hurt before. I’m sure you will make your peace with her soon, but I pray that peace and satisfaction will find you sooner.”
“Thank you, Master.”
“Can I expect you to join the rest of your peers for training now?”
“Of course!”
“Wonderful. I expect you to have two boulders beaten down to gravel by nightfall.”
(Y/n)’s shoulders slumped and she suppressed a groan.
“Yes, sir.”
This would be a long day…
***
Shinobu halfheartedly paged through the new medicinal tome that had arrived the day prior. She had been eagerly anticipating its arrival for months, but now with En’s latest return proving she had failed to entice (Y/n) once again, she hardly had the motivation.
She was surprised when Gyomei’s crow, Zekka, came to perch at her window some hours later. She took the letter from his beak and he quickly flew off. He was not expecting a reply, she supposed. She unfurled the textured paper and scanned the punched message which simply read,
The best way to receive what it is you are looking for, is to give something of equal value in return.
Himejima Gyomei
“Really, Himejima-san, is this supposed to be a riddle?” Shinobu shook her head, but a determined spark lit up her eyes and she got to work.
***
(Y/n) slumped to the ground, uncaring that she was resting in a pile of rubble. She had destroyed the boulders just as the sun had sank behind the mountains, but at what cost? Himejima seemed nice, but his training was beyond brutal. If the secret of Stone Breathing was to make one’s arms as heavy and stiff as stone, (Y/n) was surely going to be a Master in no time. Her eyes drooped shut. It wouldn’t be the first time she took a dirt nap after training, but an insistent voice was preventing that.
“Hello, hello, please don’t fall asleep out here, (Y/n). I could probably name ten different reasons why it would be a horrible decision.”
Cold hands prodded at her face and sore arms, making her groan in protest and try to shimmy away.
“If you don’t massage and stretch now, you are going to be completely immobile tomorrow. Which may be helpful actually, at least then you won’t be able to run away from me.”
(Y/n) heard her arm crack and pop, which would have have alarming except it felt like a relief. She cracked opened her eyes, soon blown wide open when she realized who was busy cracking and rotating her aching wrist. If her heart had ever raced when she saw Shinobu (which it did) it was sprinting now. Damn traitorous organ never learned.
“What are you doing here? How are you here?” She whispered, not even because she was pretty sure she was dehydrated, but because it just felt appropriate to whisper.
“Jumped over the fence.” Shinobu answered casually, taking her time cracking (Y/n)’s knuckles and massaging her palm now, “Though I’m sure Himejima-san is well aware of my presence and wouldn’t have minded me using the front gate this time around. And for your first question, I’m here for you.”
“Shinobu, I told you that I—“
“—I have something I want to give you formally. What you decide to do from there is completely your choice. I know I have always asked a lot of you, but please allow me this once more.”
“…Okay.” Even after nearly four months of separation, (Y/n) found herself still unable to deny her. In her mind, this did not bode well for what little progress she thought she had made.
“Thank you.”
Shinobu stoked her thumbs over the palm of (Y/n)’s hand before bringing it to her chest, placing it over her heart and holding it there with both hands.
“Wh-what are you doing?” (Y/n) squeaked, trying to inch her palm higher, somehere above Shinobu’s clavicle and not quite so close to the swell of her chest, but Shinobu held firm.
“Do you feel that?” She asked.
“What am I supposed to be feeling?!”
“My heartbeat, of course. Can’t you feel it? It’s beating rather hard right now.”
It was hard to pay attention to anything other than her own racing heart if she was honest. Besides, a hand to someone’s chest wasn’t the best way to find a pulse. Shinobu of all people should know that.
“Maybe this will help.”
(Y/n) let Shinobu shift their positions around, mostly because she was still stiff and her body was refusing to cooperate with her own wishes. After a bit of maneuvering, she found her cheek resting on Shinobu’s chest instead, a speedy and strong drumbeat pressed against her ear.
“Is that better?” Shinobu asked.
“Why are you doing this?”
“To show you that you are not alone, that this is the power you have over me. My heart is yours, it always has been, but I’m giving it to you formally now.”
“Shinobu, I can’t—“
“I don’t expect you to give yours in return, I know I don’t deserve it yet, but I hope to one day. Will you allow me the honor of courting you. You owe me nothing, but I beg of you to allow me the chance to love you the way you deserve to be loved.”
“Why the change of heart?”
“Because losing out on the moments we could have while living together is more frightening to me than death itself. I don’t know how much time either of us has, but I want to spend it all with you.”
(Y/n)’s breath caught in her throat and her eyes began to water. A quiet sob shook her shoulders and she felt Shinobu’s arms tighten around her. She was so doomed. Try as she might, her heart was very clear. It belonged to Shinobu, no matter what she decided to do. That didn’t mean she couldn’t make her really work for it though.
“Alright, I accept,” (Y/n) sniffed, “you may court me.”
Shinobu gasped softly then took (Y/n)’s hand from her lap, kissing the back of it while locking eyes with her. The intensity of her stare sent a shiver down (Y/n)’s spine.
“I cannot thank you enough for this opportunity. The same one I had denied you of several times in the past. The goddess my heart is devoted to is a merciful one. How unworthy I am of your blessing.”
“I think you have been reading too much poetry.” (Y/n) spoke in a strained whisper, flustered by Shinobu’s intensity. She had never imagined she could be like this.
“Oh this is only the beginning,” Shinobu declared, a purple flame burning in her eyes more vibrantly than any chemical reaction could produce, “You best prepare yourself.”

Hello, I’m new here, and I got a strange fluff request. I hope I'm not breaking any rules you have. Can I ask for a One-shot for Kochou Shinobo x S/O who’s based off Utakata from Naruto Shippuden. I hope this isn’t too specific.
Here’s the one-shot scenario. Kochou Shinobo has an GN S/O, who uses Water Breathing Technique. However, her S/O created a new form and it's an unorthodox way that suit their needs: Instead, her S/O creates bubbles that can come in any shape or form and be used offensively against Demons and defensively for the user, and instead of a sword, uses a bamboo bubble pipe.
On day, while Shinobo is visiting her S/O, practicing new ways to use their form, they wanted test out if it was possible to travel inside their bubbles
Shinobo is fascinated by the concept, and agrees to test it out with them. Her S/O blows a giant bubble that engulfs her, and then one for them. Both their bubbles soon float into the sky.
At first, the Shinobo is having difficulty controlling her bubble, as she keeps slipping and falling, and bouncing around the walls of the bubble. She and her S/O giggles a little, having fun. But suddenly, the wind blows her bubble into their bubble, and their two bubbles merge into one bubble. Shinobo at first apologizes, but her S/O says it’s okay, preferring this way. They sit down and cuddle together in their bubble and watch the sunset, and Shinobo is amazed by the view.
Soon, their bubble lands on the ground and pops safely, and Shinobo thanks her S/O for their experiences

It was an early morning, early enough that the sky was only beginning to lighten as the peeking sun had still not been seen, mere minutes from waking the world around it. The insect hashira noticed the morning dew was still dripping from the trees, so despite the clear skies above, the distinct sound of rain was all around her.
This path through the forest led to your home, protected by newly grown wisteria trees. They were in full bloom, leaving the ground scattered in purple petals. They sat at the base of the forest, like a fence protecting the extensive clearing where your home sat. You had built the entire thing with your two hands between missions.
Only a few had the fortune of growing these trees, but one unique thing about you was that you belonged to the Wisteria family.
As always, the closer she got to your home, the more bubbles would glide past her through the wind, accompanied by the sound of bamboo wind chimes that hung from all corners of the house.
As she recalled, you both met long ago during the final selection and bonded well over the fact that you were the only two to remain. The similarities didn’t end there, with you both sharing your experiences of not using a typical nichirin blade.
From then on you two became close friends, most missions done together and if not, always promising to meet afterwards to share what had happened.
Shinobu outshone you and became a strong hashira, but she always credited her rise to her position to you who encouraged it and allowed her to use the wisteria from your family trees. But besides that, you were never interested in rising up the ranks. You did things at your own pace, preferably in a support role over a defensive one.
And when she had earned the courage to ask you to be her lover, she had learned to appreciate this fact. The more in love she fell, the harder it became to let you go on missions that might harm you.
But it was for the greater good, and-
“-ocho? Miss Kocho!” Her hazy purple eyes finally seemed to connect with your own, though her expression hadn’t changed.
“Oh my, was I gazing off again? My apologies.” She raised her hand to touch her lips, as if trying to express her surprise. Even so, you knew she was tugging your chain.
“It’s fine, of course, I’m just happy you stopped by.” The two of you were sitting on the porch, your legs dangling off while she had hers crossed. Your tea was half empty, but she had already finished hers. The sky was a purple hue, as the day continued to tick forwards.
Taking her cup into your hands, you quickly finished yours and sat them aside, before pulling out a bubble pipe the other had never seen before. This one was made out of bamboo as opposed to straw, and was stained a dark brown with a waxy finish. It was a finely crafted piece, but before Shinobu could inquire more of it you rose to your feet and walked out from the house, into the grassy field.
“Ah, you did mention in the letter you wanted to test something out, correct?” She  walked out to join you after seeing you push the end of the flute into a soaked sponge that was filled with the fluid you used to make bubbles, a purple hue to it from the wisteria embedded in its mixture.
Originally your bubbles were harmless to demons, but helped trap them. With Shinobu's help, however, you were able to make a solution that could subdue and occasionally kill them as well.
When she stood in front of you, waiting, she was more than surprised to realize she was growing taller- except, no. It seemed you had trapped her in one of the bubbles without her realizing and it was lifting her into the sky.
“Dear, this is incredible!” She praised you, not just for this new feat, but for the fact that you had her guard so low that you’d managed to catch her.
Your smile was always wider than hers, and she loved it. Clearly you had been having trouble with the technique, as shown by the joy on your face. Not long after she had been picked up, you were in one rising up to catch her. As you both got higher, Shinobu found herself struggling to stand up straight, falling to her ass.
Unamused at first, your laughter picked up her mood until she was giggling too, failing to stand up multiple times before giving up entirely, crossing her legs and looking down at you.
“Don’t worry, they won’t pop.” You mumbled more of yourself than her, watching as you were lifted as high as the clouds might have been. Thanks to the clear skies, you never lost each other. It was a little scary at first, but with time you were both playing around, seeing if there was some way you might be able to steer them.
As Shinobu attempted to use it like a hamster ball, however, she smacked right into yours, attaching the two with just a small barrier between them.
“Ah, I completely ruined it…” Her frown returned as she tried to push away, gasping when you took the sharp end of your pipe and moved it towards her, “Now, now! I don’t think this was bad enough to result in death-!”
As the sheen between you two popped, you quickly pulled her into yours so she wouldn’t fall, now stuck in the same bubble as you.
“I just wanted to scare you.” You stuck out your tongue, looking at her who had fallen onto the ground again, while you stood easily. Of course, it was easy for you to keep from falling, but Shinobu would wipe that smirk off your face when she kicked the back of your knee, making you fall right back beside her.
When met with your grumbling, she only hushed you by moving one finger to your lips.
“Shh, look.” The finger on your lips moved to point forwards, and when you broke from her mischievous gaze, you saw the golden sun begging to rise above the horizon, decorating the landscape with a beautiful backlit glow.
You were lost for words looking at the fantastic scenery. You could see the butterfly mansion from here, among other landmarks hidden throughout rural Japan. Shinobu’s arms wrapped around you after pulling your arms around her, resting her head on your shoulder.
“Wow.” Your tone had gotten much lower, moving to rest your head on hers. This wasn’t what you had expected, but the timing was perfect.
“Yes, wow.” She agreed, humming lightly so as not to cover the sounds of the birds chirping as the sun woke all of nature from its slumber.
Enjoying the silence and the warm company, you two watched until the sun became too bright to stare at, and as the bubble lost its ability to keep in the air, landing further from home near the edge of the forest where the wisteria was, in which one of the branches popped it.
Although a rough landing, you were laughing and smiling from having to catch yourselves in the worst ways, dropping from the tree and thanking it for saving your fall.
“I am happy to know your studies are improving your technique. Feel free to write to me anytime you have more of these ‘experiments,’ okay?”
Unfortunately, she was already leaving, but you waved off and hummed in agreement.
“Thank you, Miss Kocho!”

She never meant for things to get this far. It’s almost comical, how desperate she was for this complete stranger to ravage her. His eyes trail over her exposed chest, he practically ripped the buttons and she wondered how she was going to explain this wardrobe malfunction to her husband when she got home.
His breath fanning across her face breaks her from her thoughts. She can smell the whiskey from the drinks he had previously in the night, and her own essence lingering on his lips messy and slick her stomach tightens, she can feel herself clench thinking about feeling his breath ghosting over her cunt again. He leans forward for a kiss and she turns her head sharply, squeezing her eyes shut and shaking her head.
stupid.stupid.stupid. Ringing out like a mantra in her mind, she only came out because it was Mitsuri’s birthday, how the fuck did she find herself locked away in this restroom with someone that wasn’t her husband is beyond her.
“What’s wrong? You’re the one who wanted this,” He scoffs and begins to back away. Shinobu snaps her eyes open at the loss of his warmth and reaches forward, pulling him by the hem of his shirt so that he’s back to standing in between her plush thighs, her skirt already ridden up from their antics prior.
“Just no kissing, I’m…married,” She mumbles, not meeting his cold blue eyes. He grabs her left hand and studies the ring sitting pretty on her finger, it glitters in the light of the bathroom, Shinobu watches as he takes the ring and slip it off her finger, reaching for the clutch she had discard on the counter earlier he slips the ring in and laughs with no humor. The man grasps her chin in between his thumb and forefinger, forcing her to make eye contact, forcing her to take in his handsome features laced with a shit eating smirk.
“Let me get this straight, you don’t want me to kiss you on the lips,” He pauses and lets go of her chin so that his fingers can trail down her face and neck. She holds her breath anticipating his next move, practically crying out when he presses his fingers firm and rough against her panty clad clit.
“But you let me taste this delicious pussy not even five minutes ago?” He scoffs and steps away leaving her aching, her chest heaves, breathing goes rapid when he reaches the door.
“Wait!” She shouts, she can feel herself trembling as she lowers herself from the counter to stop him from unlocking the door.
“What? You’ve already wasted my time,” He snaps, shooting her a glare, she looks away again, fiddling with her fingers.
“You can kiss me,” She mutters. He doesn’t respond immediately and she risks peeking up at him through her lashes, he lets his hand fall from the doorknob and steps away from the door. He takes both her cheeks in his hands, loving the way leans into his touch. He surges forward placing a kiss on her soft lips, her lipgloss smears and he licks at her tasting the vanilla and moaning in approval. The kiss catches her off guard; she gasps and he takes advantage of it letting his tongue slip against hers so smoothly her knees buckle.
He tastes of mint, whiskey and herself, it’s filthy the way this kiss turns her on she should be utterly disgusted but she finds herself pressing against his front, writhing from his touch as he kisses her deeper, his tongue making home in her mouth, wrapping around her own so expertly she regrets not letting him do it sooner. She breaks the kiss first taking in a much needed breath, he leans forward to kiss her again, ignoring her protest of needing to breathe, he didn’t care he couldn’t get enough of her, the way she tasted, the cute whimpers she continued to let out, she was driving him insane.
“Fuck you’re so hot,” He groans, backing her into the counter again. He presses a kiss to the side of her mouth, then her neck. He taps her thigh twice in warning and lifts her up again settling himself in between her thighs once more, she moans when he rocks into her, eyes going wide at the feeling of his hard length against her. Then his hands roam her body and it’s heaven, he makes her feel so good she leans into his touch and he chuckles at how responsive she is. Her hands play in his hair, gripping at the nape of his neck when he pinches her nipples, rolling them softly and then tugging them hard. She gasps at the stinging pain but it’s soon soothed by the warmth of his mouth as he leans forward to pepper open mouth kisses across her chest, stopping at each nipple to swirl his tongue expertly around each hardened bud.
“I bet you’re fucking soaked,” He comments when he pulls away with a pop. She feels her face heating up at his lewd comments but doesn’t say anything, she removes her hands from his hair and plays with the hem of his shirt again revealing a perfectly sculpted chest, she rakes her nails down his abs and revels in the way he shivers at her touch. It seemed she had more effect on him than she thought.
Feeling extraordinarily bold she stops at his pants, undoing his belt and then the zipper, she hesitates when she realizes that there’s no stopping after this, she trails her eyes up slowly taking him in, closes her eyes briefly before finally meeting his heated gaze, he smirks and thrust his hips forward and it’s all the confirmation Shinobu needs and soon she’s whipping out his cock, palming and squeezing at his length.
He falters, she can see the flicker of arrogance waver, and she feels successful that she’s gotta something other than a smirk and sarcasm from the man.
“I wanna feel you,” She finds herself whispering, he throws his head back at that, a low moan comes from him and Shinobu smiles victoriously, any hint of remorse or regret now long gone, the only thing that mattered was that she was here with him and she craved to be filled with his cock.
His hands move from her breast and easily slides her skirt the rest of the way up, her thighs, he moves her panties to the side and watches as she strokes his cock slowly. His fingers tease the outline of her sex, the warmth is so inviting but one fact remains clear in his foggy mind.
“You don’t know my name,” He says, smiling darkly. He bats her hand away and strokes his cock once before rubbing the head of his cock against her folds, she’s needy with want and bristles at his comment, she just wants him to fuck her already. She shoves her hips forward, a beautiful invitation but he doesn’t let up on his teasing.
“How am I going to enjoy fucking this cunt if you don’t know my name? Hmm? How will I enjoy hearing your pretty moans when you don’t even know my name?” He taunts, thrusting so slowly into her pussy, he holds her hips still when she tries lifting herself to meet his thrust, slapping her thigh.
She whines, pouting when he stops his movement completely and it’s so adorable he actually chuckles. He bends down to press a chaste kiss to her lips.
“I wanna hear you, when you’re cumming, I want to hear you say my name, hell scream it if you have to,” She starts to protest that she still doesn’t know his name but he shushes her with another kiss.
“Giyuu, got that babe?” He asks against her lips and she nods. Giyuu leans back and aligns his cock with her entrance, collecting the slick and covering his thick length with her essence he sinks in easily, grunting out, a low curse.
“Oh Giyuu,” Shinobu sighs when he’s all the way in, her eyes fall close, she can’t bring herself to look at him, the pleasure is too overwhelming already.
“Nuh-uh, open your eyes,” He demands, he grips her face squeezing her cheeks, making drool spill down her chin.
“That’s it, look at how well your pussy takes me,” He grunts harshly, he pulls her hair roughly making her watch how her pussy sucks him back in when he pulls out. The wetness seeps around his cock and he can’t help himself when he gathers the slick just to rub her clit lightly.
“Faster please?” She begs and he complies, his hips piston in and out of her velvet walls and they squeeze him so tightly he has to pull out completely to avoid finishing early. Her pussy glistens and she whines again earning her yet another smack to her thigh.
“You have such a pretty pussy,” He moans lowly sending a particularly deep thrust into her. His cock is thick and heavy and his dirty words shoot straight to her core. She can already feel the beginning of a second orgasm taking over, she looks up at Giyuu, pleasure contorts his face, his hand never lets up on rubbing her clit. She gasps, covering her mouth as she cums, her vision becomes spotty and she swears she sees stars, a high pitched whine rips through her. Her legs tremble with the force of it, pulling him closer she keens, slapping at his hand working her clit. He chuckles, and brings his hand to his mouth sucking his fingers obscenely. Giyuu lowers himself to her ear, pressing a chaste kiss on her temple, then the shell of her ear.
“Oh that’s no good darling, I wanted to hear you say my name, I thought I made that clear,” He husks, he pulls out making her whimper at the loss of his thick cock. He presses the heel of his palm against her pussy as she rides out the aftershocks of her orgasm. When she feels like she no longer floating, she pushes his hand away completely and looks at him expectantly.
“Turn around,” he commands, Shinobu nods weakly, accepting his help as she gets down, he presses her lower back firmly, smashing her cheek against the granite counter before grabbing a handful of hair forcing her to look in the mirror.
She meets his eyes, dark and filled with lust.
“Now this time I want you to watch yourself as you cum,” He lets go of her hair and traces the curve of her body, his nails drag down her sides sending a shiver down her spine.
“And make sure I hear you when you cum understand?” He does wait for an answer, he palms her ass, squeezing the soft flesh before spreading her ass cheeks apart, she feels her pussy ache, clenching around emptiness as he teases her.
“Giyuu put it in,” She whines accompanied with a foot stomp, he smacks her ass the sting of it sends a tingle through her core, and she wiggles her ass making him smack the same spot again.
“Please Giyuu?” She whines so soft and prettily, looking back at him with such an innocent expression he loses all resolve, the tip of his cock pushing in her wetness has her melting against the counter. She moans and pushes her hips back to meet his thrust, the movement causes his hips to stutter.
“You know if I knew you were going to be this much of a slut I would’ve approached you the minute you walked in the club,” He moans, his hands move her back and forth on his cock, his balls slapping on her clit perfectly making her squeezing every time he fucks into her.
“Oh and then to find out you’re married, fuck. What are you going to tell your husband when he finds out how well you were taking my cock?” He taunts, the words should be cruel, they should make her feel guilty but they don’t, if anything she feels herself gushing more wetness around him.
His nails dig into her hips, he towers over her until he’s pressing himself against her back, she feels his cock pulsating inside her, dragging along her walls in a delicious way and then he hits that spot that makes her incredibly tight around him.
“R-right there, please, please,” She moans reaching back to hold onto his arms, he circles an arm around her waist, fingers finding their way back to her overly sensitive bud.
“Right here baby?” He asks cockily, she only moans in response, she doesn’t doesn’t focus on anything except for the fact that she needs to cum, the noises Giyuu makes above her are guttural and almost animalistic, she inhales his scent, and finds herself looking at her expression, her hair and makeup is completely ruined, and her eyes are so glossed over that she doesn’t even recognize the person staring back at her.
She pants and loses herself to her orgasm, she whimpers, biting her lip before remembering his words from before.
“Giyuu, I’m g-gonna c-cum,” She stutters out, he rewards her with another thrust of his cock, and that sends her in a frenzy cumming all over his cock.
“Fuck yes, give it to me,” He growls roughly and she does, throwing her hips back relishing in every sensation he gives her. Her pussy is tight holding him in a vice grip and he cums spilling his load deep inside of her.
It takes a couple of minutes for Shinobu to recover, the thumping of the music brings her back to the bathroom and to the man cleaning her up with wet paper towels.
“I’m sorry, that’s…not like me,” She mumbles, she closes her eyes still feeling fuzzy. He chuckles and pushes her panties back in place then folds her skirt back down over her ass.
“Sorry about your shirt,” He mumbles. She sighs and stands up slowly, adjusting her shirt so that she’s not as exposed. As far as her makeup and hair go she wipes away the smeared mascara and eyeliner, and runs her hands through her locks.
She only notices Giyuu’s made it to the door when she hears the music get louder, a look of disappointment on her face.
“Will I see you again?” She hates the way her voice sounds a pitch higher.
“Maybe,” Is his answer and he walks out of the bathroom leaving Shinobu to reflect on what just occurred.

Note
can i get a shinomitsu one-shot of their first meeting 💖
I certainly wasn’t excepting a pink and green haired girl to be standing expectantly at the entrance of the estate, perking up on the very edges of her feet with a large smile across her face.
I recognized her description as the mentioned love hashira, I hadn’t gotten to meet the lovable girl face to face yet but I presumed that’s exactly why she was at the estates doorstep with a tray of sakura mochis.
“Hello,” I said, a tight lipped smile instinctively crossing my face.
“Good morning!” the love hashira exclaimed excitedly, “I’m Mitsuri Kanroji! Love hashira! I’ve heard of you before!”
“Oh?” her enthusiasm felt quite contagious and I couldn’t restrain an actual smile.
“I’m excited for us to be working together!” she told me cheerily, “After all, we are the only female ones in the team! I think we’re going to be good friends!”
She giggled and I couldn’t help but admit internally that she was indeed quite beautiful. With bright green eyes that crinkled when she laughed or smiled and braids that bobbed up and down as she bounced on the balls of her feet with eagerness.
I would’ve felt envious of such beauty when I was younger but I’d grown to admire the features of women, Mitsuri was one of those women with such gorgeous features.
I flicked my eyes downwards towards the sakura mochis, then quickly at her chest but immediately looked back up in suppressed embarrassment.
I had been training but perhaps I could make some time for the giddy love hashira.
“Would you like to come in?” I asked.
