mob - ralts & espurr. later, silvally. mob isn't a trainer, and his pokemon don't fight. they're just little guys. type:null was originally toichiro's (who used various pokemon alongside the human claw grunts), mob met it in aftermath of the divine tree once everything in the domination arc was over. (it still doesn't battle or anything. big fancy lapdog full of love.)

ritsu - unovan braviary, bisharp, and alakazam. going along with his student council status & top-of-the-line grades, ritsu's a skilled trainer with some powerful pokemon. braviary and bisharp were his most used pokemon early on- they're sort of representative of his student council thing (note braviary's unobtainable psychic type form)- but abra was his first pokemon, a counterpart to mob's ralts. it only evolved first during ritsu and the esper kids' attempted escape of the 7th division claw building.

reigen - murkrow, greavard, thievul, and nacli. reigen's not a trainer, his pokemon are both pets and assist him with work. with the exception of nacli, dark and ghost types are his specialty (psychic-adjacent types, but Not actual psychic types). his murkrow imitates him constantly. greavard is uu-chan, of course, but this time he doesn't get eaten by dimple (uu-chan is still feeding on reigen's soul). one of nacli's possible abilities in the games is "purifying salt", which cuts damage from ghost moves. reigen's nacli, of course, has sturdy. and to quote kite, re: thievul: "Reigen: would an untrustworthy guy have THIS [sends out the thief pokemon]"

teru - furfrou (shiny), zoroark (maybe shiny i cant decide. burple), and togepi (later togekiss). before his encounter with mob in season 1, teru didn't actually use his pokemon in battle often- they're rare, flashy, and/or powerful, but they were lackeys and status symbols just as much as his underlings at black vinegar were. his relationship with his pokemon improved after he started to work on his humility, leading to the evolution of his togepi.

shou - morpeko, latias, and (mega) blaziken. he's a super tough trainer, and he cares about his pokemon So much. he rides his latias like she's a surfboard

serizawa - swoobat & bewear. serizawa didn't really have pokemon growing up after his self-imposed isolation- the stufful he had as a kid was taken care of by his mother once that happened. he met his woobat a while after joining claw, and it evolved sometime after the world domination arc. bewear isn't entirely his- but after the world domination arc, he reconnected with it and takes care of it some of the time. the rest of the time it's serimama's gigantic housebear

tome - two (later three which become a single magneton) magnemite, orbeetle, eventually elgyem. i think magnemite just fits her vibes... plus it's a bit ufo-y, innit. she HAD to have a bug, and i mean..look at orbeetle's gmax form! and it has the telepathy ability! unfortunately, despite her best efforts, orbeetle's telepathy ability hasn't proved useful for finding human telepaths. she caught elgyem on new years, on the way back down to the car. tome can hold her own in battle, but training for battle isn't something she's focused on.

dimple - is a yamask! his big powerful form is cofagrigus, obvs. his mask is usually blank save for the cheek spots, since he has no memory of his life as a human. the mask does change to fit the (LOL) and psycho helmet cult as well. he places his mask on someone's face to possess them like any other yamask, to others it just appears as the regular red cheeks, but to folks who can see spirits they see the mask. when possessing someone, his expressions will show on the mask as well.

I've been thinking about it on and off for almost a month now, so!! Here's what I've considered:

Reigen:

- He'd definitely have a Psyduck. Despite the name, Psyduck is and has always been a pure water type.

- Nacli. Na is sodium. Salt splash. Comedy genius.

- Hypno. I think because of the pendulum

Ritsu:

- Kadabra. The spoon, but also because it's essentially a younger brother to Alakazam.

- Espeon, because Espeon isn't born a psychic type, like how Ritsu had to awaken his powers

- Shedinja. I'm gonna be completely honest, I don't have any valid reasons for this

Teruki:

- I'm super obsessed with the idea of him having an Alolan Exeggutor, for obvious reasons.

- Jolteon, probably because of the hair. Also when he does his air whips it reminds me of electricity :]

- Ralts. No idea why.

(I was so tempted to give him an all-Alola team of Exeggutor, Dugtrio, and Raichu but I felt it was kinda cheap)

Mob:

- Milcery. Milk. Again, comedy genius. Also, Milcery is just super cute and Mob would love cute Pokémon

- Espurr. Adorable, psychic, and it was my favorite Pokémon for a while

- Flabébé, because @/chainsaw-headache mentioned the flower that sprouts from Mob's head during the Mogami arc and I LOVED that idea :] also it kinda reminds me of A-Z from X & Y, which the Mogami arc reminds me of

(Unrelated, but during a car ride when I was twelve or thirteen, I encountered a shiny Flabébé and accidentally ohko'd it. Did I cry? Almost.)

Tome:

- Cleffa comes from space! It's a great fit for her (also the Clefairy line kinda reminds me of the aliens from MP100 for some reason)

- Elgyem/Beheeyem. iirc, they're linked to UFO crash sites within the lore of Pokémon

- I think she'd be super into searching for Deoxys tbh

Shou:

- Quilava, probably exclusively because of aesthetics.

- Victini. Tell me he doesn't look EXACTLY like Victini

- Ditto. I think he'd like Ditto. No explanations

Serizawa:

- Mimikyu. It seems evil, but it really isn't. It just needs people, like Serizawa.

- I get Flaafy vibes, honestly

- Skitty. I feel like he'd ADORE Skitty tbh

(Side note, why isn't there an umbrella Pokémon. As much as I love Klefki, an umbrella makes just as much sense, which is zero)

Tsubomi:

- Eevee, because everyone loves Eevee. It's popular, like Tsubomi.

- Swoobat, because I feel like she'd love it. It's cute.

- Deerling, just because I really love the idea

Honestly a lot of these are just vibes so feel free to provide better ones :]

octopath 2 as pokemon trainers! extended commentary (SPOILERS FOR BASICALLY EVERYONE'S STORY) under cut so it doesn't take up 2+ pages. Please do not think too hard about the trainer sprite choices 💗

Okay! Some of these were really easy to make (Ochette, Castti and Temenos), and some were... a bit of a challenge (Partitio and Throné)

Ochette:

VERY self explanatory. Solgaleo is Juvah (white lion), Decidueye is a combination of Mahina and Ochette's hunter class (owl and elemental arrows), Thieval is.. a fox resembling Akalā that's physical based, Shiny Magikarp is Acta (not that good, evolves after putting in a lot of effort), Turtonator is Tera (anatomy, typing), and finally, Articuno is clearly Glacis (Legendary ice bird)

Ochette's whole story is about collecting legendaries, of course her team is half legendaries and pseudo-legendaries

Castti:

Here, we start to have some more pokemon that integrate character's personality. Mega Kangaskhan is Castti's very mother bear-esque personality, nurturing yet ready to chop off someone's limbs anytime. Combusken is also an extension of this (with Castti often being called a mother hen). For some reason to me, Combusken felt more fitting to me than Blaziken, probably because it resembles a chicken more.

Lapras! This one has two reasons. It knows Sing (Castti's nighttime path action knocking people out), and Surf (We all know Castti's history with maritime traveling). Its personality also matches with Castti's drive to care for everyone.

Breloom was chosen because of its Poison Heal ability combined with it's grass/poison duotyping. Torkoal is similar as it was chosen because of it's drought ability. Both of these tie into her final chapter.

Mamoswine is Wooly-Ooly 🙂

Throné:

Lillipup is her buppy 🙂... + the pokedex entry for shield

Klefki is Throné's keys for her collar coming from her parents (Klefki can learn thief, her thief parents carry her keys)

Tandemous, the Couple Pokemon, represents Mother and Father! They both teach moves to Throné that she uses throughout her life (Charm, Thief, Substitute, etc.)

Sneasler is Throne's (NO ACCENT, MY CTRL-V BROKE FOR TUMBLR ONLY.) collar, with the ability Poison Touch. Its lone wolf personality, combined with its general abilities works well as Throne.

Seviper is a black snake. Dodrio is meant to represent the structure of The Blacksnakes though, constantly fighting with its other heads until one becomes the "leader".

Overall I did try to give Throne more speedy pokemon to fit her class and Aeber's Reckoning.

Osvald:

Drampa! This represents his fatherly personality that he keeps behind his scary looks. It's very Osvald-coded to me, can you please just look at its pokedex entries? (burning homes to the ground. haha. it's almost like his third chapter... and his backstory)

Charizard is his ever-burning flame in his chest, his life. Blaziken is like this except for its extra fighting typing as well as it's ability to learn Knock Off, an move that damages opponents while also removing their items (Mugging)

Alakazam... let me just pull up the dex entry. This also ties into Osvald's "Calculations complete!" battle line.

Golurk is Rita (I didn't want to do Golem the pokemon so I chose the next best thing, and the ghost typing helps. I'm so sorry.), Kirlia is Elena (beautiful child, only becoming more beautiful through a better environment)

Partitio:

This is a trainwreck (cue boos). Partitio is the result of me throwing things together despite him being one of my favorite Octopath characters.

I tried to give a lot of his pokemon a secondary business advantage!

Fidough is one of these! It's bread, one of the things he could barely get enough of as a child. Fidough can kickstart the fermenting process w its yeast and it's adorable. Its also Garnet 2, less of a meanie.

Shuckle... hah. Shucks. Another one for the business advantage of berry juice (unless that harms it. then it's there for comedy). Good at foraging, probably a Partitio trait.

Snorlax um... rest move... Partitio's nap action. Needs high friendship to evolve.

Rapidash is from Partitio being described as a wild stallion as well as it's ability to learn Ember, magic that Partitio also knows.

Meowth is there because it holds an Amulet Coin, acting as the Grows on Trees ability

Musharna is Partitio's dreams and how he's made his big dreams help the whole world defeat poverty 🙂

Agnea:

Okay, there's a lot of obvious dancers here. There's also a lot of grass/bug types to show that she's a countrygirl from the Leaflands

Hitmonlee is there because it's the first kicker of the fighting types (Dancer's Ruinous Kick). It's flexible also, like Agnea (I assume superstar dancers are ?? really flexible???)

Leavanny, while it is graceful, only knows Swords Dance. Leavanny is actually meant to represent Agnea's father, with its ability to make clothing (See below).

I chose Oricorio's Baile form as Agnea wears a more flamenco-esque dress

Swoobat is there because of its klutz/clumsy ability (we are introduced to Agnea by helping her find her lost purse), and because of its heart stamp attack (This references the travel banter between Agnea and Temenos in her final chapter where he tries to teach her how to remember each of the 8 gods, "Dancers seal with a kiss".)

Clefairy is just very Agnea to me, very cute and adorable little fairy.

Roserade is a straight forward Agnea reference, grass dancer

Temenos:

We start off with a Crick reference right away: Honedge. It's a steel-ghost, just like Crick 🙂. Unevolved base form pokemon, like how Crick is only a "newly anointed knight". Also bc Crick uses swords, I'm sorry.

(Mega) Houndoom is Temenos, the Pontiff's Hound. Having Temenos be a dark type fits him best, considering how he barely fits into the church and brings down the Sacred Guard.

Lycanroc's Midnight form is what Roi looks like to me. That's it.

Hatterene is Temenos'... off-putting nature ("Omg so cute ^_^ wait holy shit what's wrong with you" energy) as well as his inquire ability (see below). Disarming voice is like Breaking during an Inquisition in my head. Dazzling Gleam is like Holy Light. Misty Explosion is like Temenos' EX Heavenly Shine, except with swapped consequences (Misty Explosion wipes out your entire HP bar, Heavenly Shine wipes out your entire SP bar).

WOOLOO. MY LITTLE LAMB!

Zoroark is Temenos' mask, that only comes off at the very end of the game. He's the black sheep of the church. He's lonely, but he's there. Does anyone hear me. Literally look 🔽

AND FINALLY. HIKARI:

Samurott. It's a sword-wielding pokemon. It's a samurai. Hikari needs water.

Machamp is Mugen, look at those arms.

Braviary is an eagle, like Kuzan! With the psychic typing of its second form, it reminds me of Kuzan's transition in the end from being Ku's greatest tactician to Oboro of the Moonshade Order who revived Vide.

Arctozolt is Rai Mei, electric ice type (electric abilities living in Stormhail). The only one in pokemon.

Mightyena is well. Hikari's loyalty reminds me of pack animal behavior (lovingly). It also knows Swagger and Taunt which reminds me of Incite.

Marowak is there because Bone Rush reminds me Aggressive Slash as both are multi-hit moves. See also, its dex entries

My opinion is that Kadabra is the coolest of the Alakazam line.

My opinion is that after Ash Ketchum returns to the anime, he should own a non-shiny non-alpha Kadabra, a non-shiny alpha Kadabra, a shiny alpha Kadabra, a non-shiny alpha Abra, and a shiny alpha Alakazam.

What is yours and or Gene’s fav shinies? Curious since you shiny hunt

oh man that's a tough question -- I have so many boxes of shinies that I like (okay like. four total it's not that many compared to shiny dex hunters) it would be really hard to narrow it down 🤔🤔🤔

gene likes all shinies, but his favorites are definitely the ones that he's caught and used on his teams because he has a bond with them!! so like uhhhh the aron line, houndoom, furfrou, the popplio line, leavanny, cutiefly, lanturn, the kommo-o line, the eevee line, metagross, the cyndaquil line, sableye, snom line, rookidee, altaria, haunter, kricketot, staraptor, alakazam, buizel line.....

OH the poipole line!! I got that shiny for him after soft resetting over one 😳 (and then of course they released an event shiny poipole afterwards sjdfhkdsjf)

I think for gene the ultimate shiny is Wurmple though, since it was the first shiny he ever used -- and I think it’s in the top 10 for me too, since it was the first shiny I ever caught!!

Pokemon: Shiny vs. Default, 0063-0065

Alright, today’s offering is the Abra line. Annoying to catch, more annoying to train, but damn good once you actually get it rolling. Also a Pokemon that I like less and less as it evolves. Abra is damn near perfect as a design, but I’ve never been all that fond of its evolutions. 

Still, I’ll get into that more later. For now, we start with Abra itself.

So, the shiny is just a more-washed-out version of the default, which is rather disappointing. However, it used to look at least slightly better. In the sprite generations, it was a lighter tone rather than a faded one, and its brown parts had more of a purple-ish tinge. Unfortunately, it got downgraded in the model generations. Default wins.

Next, Kadabra.

He’s been released from jail for Uri Geller Impersonation Crimes. Much like the previous form, this is a shiny that used to look pretty decent, and then got downgraded sharply in the 3D era. Sprites better, I guess. Default wins.

Third, Alakazam.

Alakazam is probably my least favourite of the line, almost entirely because it lost the tail. However, it can still use Iron Tail, so figure that one out. Not that it should use said move, as Iron Tail is a crappy physical move. Fortunately, Alakazam’s shiny survived the transition to 3D, and it gets to keep its vibrant yellow skin and snazzy pink armour. And that means this one’s going to the Shiny form.

Lastly, Mega Alakazam.

One of the weirder Megas, with it getting the full Gandalf beard and more spoons, but certainly a fun design. As far as the shiny goes, it likewise still looks good in 3D, probably because it’s only ever existed in 3D. The pink is now more of a magenta-purple shade, and that’s even better. Shiny wins, bringing today’s update to an even split.

Owl House Pokémon AU

…or maybe Boiling Isle based Pokémon region? Either way, it was only a matter of time before my various brain rots starting trying to merge. I’m sure other people have done this before, but I wanted to give it a go.

I’m going to leave things a bit open-ended, so feel free to chime in with suggestions in the replies, tags, or comments.

My brain keeps bouncing around between “what if the Owl House characters had Pokémon” and “what if the Boiling Isles (and the tensions there during the show) were translated into a Pokémon game?”

At a minimum I want to give the Hexside Squad (with or without Luz) at least three Pokémon, because I think it would be fun to see them as an ever shifting set of double battle partners to face in 6v6 matches. So here they are in alphabetical order, with Luz at the end.

Amity: Her palisman, Ghost, is a white cat; Kantonian Persian is the obvious choice. Her favored magic is Abominations, which are purple goop; since she, in contrast to her parents, focus on a fairly pure expression of the abomination arts, I think Kantonian Muk works for that. Beyond these two, it’s a bit harder: due to her use of whips and tendrils of abomination goo, something like the water/poison Tentacruel or a bug type with string shot or sticky webs (Ariados to keep with her poison theming?); her above-gauntlets bring to mind a fighting type and the ability to fire them is reminiscent of moves like Gunk Shot and Sludge Bomb, so maybe Toxicroak; and, while she doesn’t use it often, we watched her learn a fire spell with a pink flame, so maybe shiny of the Magmortar line.

Gus: His palisman, Emmiline Bailey Marcostimo, is a blue chameleon; a Kecleon would be the obvious choice, either shiny (blue belly mark) are simply alternately colored (like the purple ones sometimes seen); His favored magic is Illusions; which makes either Unovan or Hisuian Zoroark a natural fit. He wants to re-establish contact with the giraffes so Girafarig would also be a great fit. Other Pokémon known for illusions in other ways include Noctowl and Stantler, which means Gus seems to specialize in unusual normal types.

Hunter: His palisman, Flapjack, is a cardinal; while there ARE red bird Pokémon, none of them are really anything close to a cardinal. Given his intelligence and talent for some sort of flash step or short-range teleport, maybe an Alakazam? Really Hunter is the one giving me issues pinning down much of anything.

Willow: Her palisman, Clover, is a bee; based on the prominent stinger, Beedrill could work, though Vespiquen and (as a bit more of a stretch) Ribombee (who is actually a bee FLY) are also possibilities. Willow is an immensely powerful witch with regard to Plant magic especially, so we want to lean into the Grass type; given her propensity for masses of vines, I think Tangrowth would be a good choice, though really any Pokémon that learns Vine Whip would work. She’s also quite buff, so a Breloom or some other Grass types that can learn Bulk Up would also fit.

Luz: We STILL don’t know what her palisman is at the time I’m writing this, so that’s a blank spot. I think a nice touch for Luz would be 4 Pokémon reflecting the 4 glyphs. For the Light glyph, the top 3 Pokémon in my mind are Lanturn, Ampharos, and Umbreon. For the Ice glyph, its Cryoganal; she learned it from a snowflake, after all. For the Plant glyph, while Luz does uses vines like Willow, she learned the glyph from, and often produces, FLOWERS with her glyph, so leaning into that with a Pokémon like Venusaur, Florges (learned as a Flabébé), or Comfey would make sense. Finally, for the Fire glyph, Luz leans more into the traditional orange fire, but also sometimes uses it just to make things hot; honestly, I think anything that screams “I am FIRE INCARNATE” would work for this.

Bulbasaur: How does it feel to be the best Kanto starter strategically and yet also the least popular?

Ivysaur: If it wasn't for smash, most people would've forgotten that you exist.

Venusaur: Why do you have such an ugly backside?

Charmander: For the most popular starter, you'd think you would have a more consistent sprite.

Charmeleon: Pikachu being a mouse I get, but how are you a chameleon!?

Charizard: Their category should be changed to "The cash cow pokemon".

Squirtle: Remember when people thought you were part squirrel because of your name and tail?

Wartortle: Who are you again?

Blastoise: How do you grab anything with those stubby arms?

Caterpie: Hello, Wormy from Spongebob.

Metapod: 💤💤💤.

Butterfree: I prefer mine with butter, thank you very much.

Weedle: Well if it isn't the only pokemon who can't learn any normal type moves.

Kakuna: It's slightly more interesting than Metapod, but only slightly.

Beedrill: You look more like a hornet than a bee, so go away!

Pidgey: Baby's first birdie.

Pidgeotto: They clearly dye their head feathers to get that flawless red color.

Pidgeot: Why does the middle evolution have the longer name!?

Rattata: Youngster Joey is the only one who actually likes you.

Raticate: You do look a hairy potato with teeth.

Spearow: How does it feel to have the anime label you all as aggressive assholes?

Spearow: You have to be the worst shiny I ever catched!

Ekans: If it wasn't for team rocket, you'd only be known for your ridiculous name.

Arbok: Seviper is apparently their evolution, no wait, the anime is just full of lies.

Pickachu: They're basically Mickey mouse if he had electric powers.

Raichu: The anime just had to make every raichu an asshole to give Ash's pikachu an excuse to not want to evolve.

Sandshrew: You look more like an armadillo than a shrew.

Sandslash: Your Alolan form is a lot more interesting.(it's my opinion, don't attack me)

The entire nidoran line (both male and female): The fact that nidoran♀ is the only one who can breed with the entire nidoran♂ feels like an unintentional p*dofelic breeding fetish.

Clefairy: I personally think making pikachu the mascot instead was a good call.

Clefable: Remember, the clefairy line walked so elgyem and beheeyem could run.

Vulpix: I've got nothing, vulpix is the best Kanto pokemon.(again, it's my opinion, don't attack me)

Ninetales: Congratulations for having one of the least creative pokemon names.

Jigglypuff: How does it feel to only be known for being a brat in the anime?

Wigglytuff: It's gen one sprite was really something else, and not in a good way.

Zubat: The vermin of caves.

Golbat: How do you fly with that big mouth?

Oddish: "Insert 4/20 joke here"

Gloom: Its name speaks for itself.

Vileplume: I bet it smells as vile as its name suggests.

Paras: Can someone please remove those parasitic mushrooms from its back!?

Parasect: Too late, they've already taken over...

Venonat: The anime also lies about it not being a bug type.

Venomoth: You're only remembered because a dumb theory.

Dugtrio: This evolution is almost as lazy as electrode.(I'm gonna get a lot of death threats with how much I'm bashing gen one)

Golduck: It's the "why isn't this a psychic type" pokemon.

Primape: How does it learn iron tail without having a tail?(especially if the primape's female?)

Arcane: The rejected legendary.

Poliwag: Just a round boi.

Polywhirl: Congratulations, you can finally hold things.

Abra: The teleporting troll.

Kadabra: the fact that they used to be a human has very disturbing implications.

Alakazam: The perfect pokemon to eat icecream with.

Machop: Why does it have chest gills?

Machoke: It pisses me off that pokemon like delphox and meowscarada get demonized for being "too humanoid" when this fucker exist!

Machamp: Why does it look like it's wearing briefs?

Bellsprout: Its head sure does look like a bell.

Weepinbell: One of many gen one poison/grass types.

Victreebel: Remember, Victreebel walked so guzzlord could run.

Tentacool: Funny, you're actually not cool at all.

Tentacruel: That name makes more sense.

Yes you absolutely can! Now Let's see if I can actually fit everyone into a single post...

Giyuu has a Greninja and Samerott! His Greninja has a special form which is only unlocked when it has created a strong bond with it's trainer. (It's power is similar to that of Mega Evolutions!) Unfortunately, this seems to only further divide his relationship with the other Hashira, since Giyuu values his relationship with his team more than making relationships with people.

He and Tanjiro both have a pokemon from the Oshawott line! (Samerott and Dewott)

Shinobu's team is not powerful, bug types have many weaknesses and their stats aren't very great, but her vast knowledge on pokemon biology is more than enough to win battles for her.

Her team consists of Butterfree, Venomoth, Beatifly, and Vivillon.

The Beatifly line is often found living around her mansion.

Rumors say that Shinobu really likes fish pokemon! No one can confirm this true or not though, since they've never seen her own one.

Rengoku's team is full of large, passionate pokemon to match his own personality! Pyroar, Acarnine, and a mega evolving Pidgeot!

His pokemon are all have a rather threatening vibe, but they're actually very sweet and love kids! They really like Muichiro and often try to befriend Giyuu's team.

Clafable, Lilligant, and Slurpuff are all part of Mitsuri's team! Their true strength tends to be underestimated becuase of their bubbly, happy personalities. The other Hashira's pokemon aren't very fond of them.

She owns a Skitty as a pet and doesn't use it in battle! It likes to ride on her shoulder.

Obani's team is Serviper, Ekans, Mimikyu, and Umbreon. He uses pokeballs, but simply doesn't put his pokemon in them, giving them permission to move as they please. They are very quiet (so they avoid Mitsuri's noisy party the best they can..)

He always has Ekans wrapped around his neck. It's low leveled and doesn't battle, but seems to enjoy hissing at others...

Sanemi's team are all just as reckless bold as he is. They do what they want, went they want. Some would question if his pokemon are actually tamed, but they all clearly have unwavering obedience and loyalty to him. If only they had that same respect for everyone else..

His team is Absol, Lycanroc, Skarmory, and Scixor.

He has two mega evolving pokemon, Absol and Scixor, which make his team very nasty opponents. Battles with him don't end pretty!

Uzui's entire team are all pokemom from Alola! A beautiful region to match his own flamboyance!

His rarest pokemon is a shiny Incinroar! When he saw the flashy way they battle, he immediately sought out the prettiest one money could buy. Next was a Toucannon with an explosive personality, a Kommo-o with the most charming scales in Alola, and a silly little Passimian, because I thought it was very funny when Muichiro compared him to a monkey.

I don't know much about Gyomei yet, so his team was picked completely of of vibes. He has Golurk, Mega Alakazam, and Onix.

I'll go into more detail about how the Hasira works, everyone's specific battle strategies, etc. in another post!

God I love Alakazam's shiny! The pink and bright yellow are so bold together and it looks fantastic. Its suck a shame the rest of the line doesn't look like this.

What's your favorite shiny pokemon

I've mentioned this before, but I've never really sat down and looked at all the shinies to figure out which ones are my favorite. But here's some mini reviews of the shinies for my top 10 favs, if that counts:

Kadabra: It's like, slightly more pale. Alakazam's is better because at least that one's pink.

Raichu: Once again, barely changes aside from being more saturated. Fun fact, most of the Raichu that show up in the anime are shiny for no reason

Dhelmise: Red algae is a real thing and it looks great and very spooky

Slowking: Slowking does that thing I hate where a shiny changes the color inconsistently (so the pink neck fin becomes blue but not the pink rest of the body like it should). which is in turn inconsistent with Slowpoke's shiny

G. Slowking: Once again, barely changes color

Hypno: POINK. 10/10. also hints at its common ancestory with the Munna line so that's neat

Shiftry: I actually like the shiny a bit better than the original. The redder brown combined with the light yellow hair looks great

Honchkrow: don't like the pink here as much as Hypno because it washes out the red parts, but it is funny to have a bright pink mafia don in your party

Dragonair: why are so many of my favs pink. not complaining though. the crystals changing color still bugs me but not as much as at least it's complimentary

Lugia: guess what? it's pink again. I like the blue a bit more because it's more ocean-y, but this is nice too

WE ARE NOW BEST FRIENDS.”Roboute, Dragonite: It’s intelligent, decently powerful, loyal and good at delivering missives. It’s practical and pleasant and the kind thing Robu would enjoy.Mortarion, Nidoking: It’s jacked, poisonous and not that subtle. Needless to say he identifies with it heavily.Magnus, Alakazam: “Finally, a being worthy of my intellect and psychic prowess.”Horus, Mewtwo: They have this respectful, understanding and chill bond between them and also both get royally fucked off at Dad sometimes.He admires Mewtwo, Mewtwo admires him.Lorgar, Every Legendary: Lorgar has found new gods to worship and he’s never been more erect in his life.Vulkan, Bewear: It’s super cuddly and also absolutely annihilates people that try to hurt its loved ones with unholy strength. Pokemon 60-68

Swimmy-punchy bois, magic mental bois and punchy muscley bois. I've never had a fighting type play a very big role in my teams, but if I needed to I think the poliwag or machop line would be my first choices. I had a Kadabra on my team in my first playthrough of Let's Go Eevee that I named Stygian. I also evolved a couple of Alakazam on the last community day. One of them was a shiny, which is pink, so I named it Blossom and named the other one and an Alakazam I already had Bubbles and Buttercup.
