Ok FINE brain, I'll try it: I'll write a shirbert fic. I know I'm late to the game, but after obsessing over Anne with an E for the past few months and falling in love with like every character, especially dear Anne, I've been itching to try writing them.
It's basically going to be entirely shirbert fluff/mutual pining/first kiss/schoolyard shenanigans. Hope it turns out ok and the shirbert fandom will accept my offering to this wonderful ship.
Coming soon...

Wildflowers ( Gilbert x Anne)
Pre- marriage. Soon after S3
Tumblr media
Anne took a deep breath, letting the sweet aroma of the flowers around her fill her up.
She closed her eyes and felt the warm sun on her back, the trees rustling in the breeze, and the creek beside her slowly flower. It was a perfect Saturday afternoon.
Although the part that was best of all was that she got to spend her time with her one and only true love.
Gilbert Blythe.
His head rested in her lap, his eyes closed as the sun shone on his face, a lazy grin spread across it.
Anne still couldn’t believe that Gilbert was finally, truly hers.
She leaned down to kiss his soft lips and sighed with pleasure.
She may never have had a tragical romance, but this was a thousand times better.
She pulled away to find Gilbert’s brilliant hazel eyes starting up at her.
He held a hand up to her face, tracing her lips, her eyes, her freckles, with a soft smile.
“I love you, Carrots,” He grinned up at her.
She frowned at the nickname, but hid a smile beneath it.
“ I love you too, Gilbert.”
She plucked the flower crown off of the top of her head and placed it into his dark curls.
“ And I always will.”
So what do you guys think? Kinda short, but I hoped you enjoyed it. Stay safe and healthy!

Can you write Gilbert x fem!reader courting Headcannons?
Gilbert Blythe x Reader
[FLUFF]
- - -
we all know Gilbert is a gentleman
he would never dare do or say anything to make you uncomfortable
that being said, he was always careful around you; whether it's a chaperoned meeting or not
for example the first time he suggested that he walk you home he made sure to choose his words wisely
"if you would like, could I please walk you home?" he said quietly so no one heard
he didn't want you to have the pressure of people watching you in case you didn't accept his offer
"you're more than welcome to decline," he added, a smile appearing on his face
he knew that sometimes the boys in the school felt entitled, so he feared that you would say yes out of politeness or necessity
however, you two almost being adults now and finishing school, he decided he would just make a move already, not even caring if he was rejected - at least that way he would know he needed to move on
"it would be my pleasure to have you escort me home," you responded
you had been waiting for this moment ever since Tilly had started getting noticed by boys
the two boys fighting over Tilly's attention caused a domino effect of all the guys acting on their affections
it was only a matter of time before Gilbert finally swallowed his pride and asked you
everybody had a subconscious inkling that they should not ask to walk you home - obviously Gilbert lay no claim over you, as did no one else, but it has been a long going theory that you two would end up together
so, as you two walked home, Gilbert holding your basket in his left hand, and your arm holding onto his right elbow, practically the whole school stood watching
whispers of "i knew it!" and "you owe me" could be heard amongst them
"alright, alright, everybody make your way home now," said miss stacey as she tried to get through the big group of students blocking the doorway
now onto the serious business
Gilbert had wanted to meet your parents as soon as possible since it was the proper and gentlemanly thing to do
he brought hand picked flowers for your mother, offering her a kind smile and a bow as he was welcomed inside
a beautiful pink tulip stood in his own jacket pocket as he presented it to you
"for the beautiful lady," he said
your parents, of course, loved him
there was nothing to dislike
him and your father babbled on about farm work and business plans
him and your mother talked about school and studies, him mentioning how he wanted to become a doctor
this undoubtedly impressed them
"a doctor! oh how pleasant - where are you planning to study?" they asked frantically
you begged them to not bombard him with questions but he assured you it was okay
the night ended with Gilbert promising to return, letting your mother know he would bring her some of Sebastian's spices for his next visit
come spring, Gilbert invited you to join him at the carnival
this was your first chaperoned visit outside the home, so it was quite a big deal
it was also the first time you'd officially confirm to Avonlea that you two were courting
you were nervous to say the least
you had worn your best dress, and finally being old enough, your mother helped you put on your corset
you looked positively sophisticated
your hat placed gently on your head, you climbed into the carriage, Gilbert grasping your hand in his to help you up as he followed soon after
it was no surprise to the citizens of Avonlea that you came together, however the presence of the Charlottetown people and others from beyond the county had made you feel overwhelmed
you hooked your arm around Gilbert's, letting him lead you deeper into the festivities
feeling your worry he placed his hand upon yours, squeezing it ever so slightly before letting go
the rest of the evening was filled with him competing in games just to win you little gifts
on one instance he came up to you, face smug with his hands hidden behind his back
"pick a side"
"hmm... left," you had said
he revealed his left hand, showing that it was empty
this was followed by him popping out his right hand with a little fluffy dog plushie as he shook it slightly in his hand
"wrong. i guess i get to keep it now," he said sarcastically
you laughed at his antics, slapping his arm affectionately
there was never a dull moment that day, especially with him complimenting you each and every moment
all of Avonlea (and more) now knew that you and Gilbert were taken, and if it wasn't obvious by anything else that i've said, it definitely became evident by the 5 millionth time that Gilbert would introduce you to people as "charming", "gorgeous", "lovely" or any other word in his expansive vocabulary
he is the king of praising istg he would not shut up about you the whole night
Gilbert made sure to always let you know that he only ever had his eyes on you, and that no woman could ever compare to you
he had a way to make you always feel special
whether it be finding flowers for you, cooking for you, helping you study, etc.
your first ever unchaperoned visit came a while after
it was after you guys had graduated and received your exam results
your parents felt you were old and mature enough, and they trusted Gilbert wholeheartedly to let you finally have tea together
Gilbert decided to take you to a beautiful café in Charlottetown called Great Aunt Anne's
he of course insisted on paying even though you told him it wasn't necessary
"what kind of a future husband would I be if I didn't make sure my lady was taken care of?"
future husband
at this you blushed deeply, just now realizing that he planned on proposing eventually
it didn't hit you until now but this newfound knowledge made you excited for your future with him
the date consisted of many laughs and jokes, your conversations leading you anywhere and everywhere
once dessert arrived he plucked a piece of whipped cream off his pie and smushed it onto your nose, laughing as he did so
"so childish, Blythe," you had said
at the end he escorted you home on the train, and waited with you for your carriage to come
you told him you'd be okay on your own from here but he didn't feel comfortable making you go home on your own
so as he walked you to your door, his hand itching to hold yours, he stopped you in your tracks to turn you towards him
"I meant what I said," he started, "I do intend to marry you one day. maybe not now, or any time soon, but if you'll have me, I will make you a promise that one day I will be yours forever"
he leaned in slowly, his hand reaching to the back of your neck as he pulled you in
"can I?"
with a hasty nod, you pulled him in by his jacket, your lips finally meeting in desperation
you had waited so long to do that
and now as you went to your bedroom, giddy as a schoolgirl, you plopped onto your bed and sighed
being future Mrs. Blythe sounded really good to you...

So I'd love to start posting my works of other ships I've written to AO3 and these are my options. For the last option if that one gets picked most I'll add another poll that will specify the options for that/what ships those could possibly be. I also decided to include the option of just continuing with Wyler. But yes here's this cause I'm curious what you guys would like to see most/I want to know y'all's opinions!

A Number of Proposals
pairing: anne shirley cuthbert x gilbert blythe word count: 1062 words request: yes/no prompt/summary: Gilbert never knew how many proposals Anne had actually received until now. Set after Gilbert's second and most successful proposal in Anne of the Island. a/n: crossposted on my ao3 account: saiwriteswords
Tumblr media
“I must be honest with you, Gil, your proposal was by far the best.” Anne had a dreamy smile on her face.
There were two weeks left before Anne and Gilbert would be separated until Christmas. She would be off to Summerside school and Gilbert would be off to Kingsport. The two of them were trying to fit in as much time as they could before their separation. Marilla had been incredibly lenient with Anne and her chores, knowing that the newly engaged pair wanted some time together and Anne couldn’t have been more thankful.
They’d decided to spend this particular afternoon in a quiet, shaded part of the field that was part of the Blythe’s land. They knew that they wouldn’t be disturbed here. Gilbert had sat leaning against an old tree that had been there for as long as he could remember, with Anne’s head in his lap. He couldn’t help but run his fingers through her red locks. He’d paused after her statement though and chuckled.
“The best? How many other proposals have you had, Anne-girl?”
Gilbert had been aware of the proposal from Roy, but he’d thought that had been it.
Realising her faux pas, Anne sat up and faced Gilbert, taking one of his hands in hers. She hadn’t exactly told him about her other interesting encounters. “Oh, they were so silly, Gil. I don’t even think they were serious.”
Gilbert just laughed, pulling Anne closer to him and kissed her. “Anne-girl, I don’t care if you had a million proposals before me. I’m just glad that I’m the only one you said yes to.”
“I was hardheaded the first time you asked, Gil. I thought you’d given up on me, you have no idea how happy I was when you proposed again.”
“Not half as happy as you made me, Anne. I’ll never forget that day for as long as I live.” He pulled her in for another kiss, his thumb stroking her cheek. “But you’ve made me curious, what exactly were these other proposals like and who were they from?” There was a mischievous glint in his eyes.
Anne’s cheeks nearly flamed as red as her hair, “Oh, Gil. That really isn’t important.” To say that she was embarrassed by her history of proposals was an understatement. They weren’t remotely what she had imagined proposals to be and now, being engaged to Gilbert Blythe. Her Gilbert. None of them mattered to her anymore.
“Oh, come on, Anne. You can’t give a man half a story!”
“You must promise not to laugh, Gil. They were all so embarrassing, even more so now when I look back at them.”
“I solemnly swear to you, Anne-girl, not a hint of a smile will pass my lips.” But Gilbert had a feeling that it was going to be difficult to keep that promise.
“Well, there was Charlie Sloane…”
Gilbert spluttered; he’d always known that Charlie’d had a soft spot for Anne, but he hadn’t realised that there had been a proposal.
“It was whilst we were at Redmond, and it was terribly dull and not at all romantic. He asked if I could ever be Mrs Charlie Sloane.” Anne shook her head at the memory. “He seemed to think it was a given that I would say yes to him and after that, well, you must have noticed he didn’t seem to be quite as eager to talk to me.”
Gilbert had realised that there’d be more of a frosty air between the two of them during their time at Redmond, but he hadn’t though too much about it. Inwardly, he was just happy that Charlie had backed off.
“And then there was Billy…”  That was one proposal that Anne did have a giggle at when she thought about it.
“Andrews!?” Gilbert was slightly shocked. He hadn’t even known that Billy Andrews was interested in Anne. He had never shown interest in her before.
Anne tried to bite back a laugh when she saw the incredulous look on Gilbert’s face, it mirrored her own at the time. “Yes. I had Jane around one night when we were back from Redmond, and she told me that Billy had asked her to ask me if I would marry him.”
Try as he might, Gilbert couldn’t help the laugh that escaped him. It was a hearty, deep chuckle coming from his chest and Anne hoped that she would be able to hear it for the rest of her life.
“I’m sorry, Anne, but are you telling me that Billy Andrews got his sister to propose to you?” He couldn’t stop laughing.
Anne covered her face with her hands and giggled with him. “It was the most peculiar proposal, Gil. And Jane wasn’t at all impressed with me when I said no.”
“I should think not, she obviously was very invested in this relationship.” Gilbert grinned at her. “Were those all of them, apart from Roy and myself?”
“Oh, there was one more.”
“My my, Anne Shirley, it’s a wonder I ever stood a chance with all of these suitors.”
Anne just rolled her eyes and playfully slapped his chest. “It was whilst I was doing some supply work over Summer. I’d only spoken to the man a handful of times when he comes up to me one afternoon and asks if I’d like to marry him. He told me he was going to have a house soon and that he thought I would make a good wife. It was rather peculiar.”
“It doesn’t take much to fall in love with you, Anne.”
“Oh, I don’t think any of those men were in love with me, Gil. Silly infatuations maybe or they just took pity on me. I think I would have made a horrible wife to all of them.”
“And what about me?”
“To you? I don’t think I’ll be a horrible wife, Gil but I’m afraid to say that I probably won’t be the perfect wife you’d expected.”
“Anne Shirley-Cuthbert, you’re my perfect wife because you’re you. There is no one else I would rather spend the rest of my life with. But you have to make me a promise.”
“Of course, Gil. What is it?”
“You have to promise to write to me if you have any more proposals at Summerside. A man needs a good laugh whilst he’s studying.”

Gilbert x Anne (one shots)
This is my first fanfic, so I’m open to suggestions.
This is after they get together and get married.
Tumblr media
The chilly air of a December morning stung Gilbert’s skin as he blinked his eyes open. He looked down at the red-headed beauty in his arms.
His wife, Anne Shirley Cuthbert Blythe
He still couldn’t believe that she was finally his. He knew he had loved he ever since the day she smashed a chalkboard over his head, even though it took a while to admit that he was absolutely smitten with her.
He wrapped his arm tighter around her and smiled as he kissed the top of her head. He laid there for a few minutes, appreciating her delicate, pasty skin, dusted with freckles, which covered the expanse of her body. He wanted to stay here forever in this blissful moment, starting at his Anne with an E.
He glanced up at the clock on the bedside table. 7:30, it read. He sighed as he knew they both needed to get to work.
He slightly nudged Anne. She made a quiet groan at the back of her throat and moved closer to his chest, burying her head in the crook of his neck.
“Good morning,” she said in a hoarse voice, still thick with sleep.
“Good morning to you as well, my love,” Gilbert replied, kissing her forehead.“ I’m afraid we have to get out of bed or we’re going to be late to work,”
Anne sighed. “ Do we really need to?” She pouted.
Gilbert looked down into her ocean-blue eyes. How could he ever say no to her?“ I’m afraid so, darling,”
“But I’m cold, Gil.” She complained, “ Why can’t we stay here for just a little longer?”
“ You know I can’t say no to you, right?” He reluctantly answered. She smiled victoriously at she moved closer to him.
“ I love you, Gilbert Blythe.” She whispered, giving him a gentle kiss on the lips.
“ Not nearly as much as I love you, Anne Shirley Cuthbert Blythe,”
I hoped you guys liked it! I might write some more when I find the motivation, if you know what I mean.

Drawing inspired by the chapter 7 of the fanfic #Awae : Between You And Me. 💞
“Anne and her friends are getting ready to spend a summer in Europe after a difficult first year in Redmond College. Everything is looking up for Anne - her grades are good, she has a wonderful boyfriend, and a summer full of travelling to look forward to.
But things don’t exactly go to plan when she bumps into a person from her past. A person she thought she’d left behind forever. Before Anne knows it, her summer has become more complicated than she expected and the only way to fix it is to fake her relationship.”

The pretty lights, one: shirbert series one
Tumblr media
She said, "I was seven and you were nine"
I looked at you like the stars that shine
In the sky, the pretty lights
-taylor swift, mary's song
A whistle, low and as if meant to be whispered, meant for only one's ears, floated through the orchard. It's owner grinned, sly eyes going up and down as he surveyed the tree before him, and the little figure hidden within its extensive branches.
The figure gasped lowly, and tried-- not so subtly-- to move out of his view. The boy, nine, chuckled as he stepped forward slowly, "I wonder where... carrots is," he bellowed, stepping aside as soon as an apple was-- surely-- thrown in his direction, whether it by accident or intentionally meant to hurt him (he'd go with the latter). "How lovely, an apple just for me. De-licious. Thank you, tree, for your welcoming gif-- ouch!"
A sniffle was heard, another apple had fallen, this time directly onto his head.
"That's it," he murmured, rolling his eyes at his friend's childish behavior. After all, he was much wiser than her. By two whole years! And Christopher Columbus, what a whole lot a difference it made, those two years.
Gilbert fastened the bag of treasure he had with him (chocolates! just for her!) to his belt, and with ease proceeded to climb the tree before him. He'd gotten to where he needed to be without alerting her, as Anne had jumped and almost hit head on the branch above after he, swiftly, plopped himself beside her.
Anne quickly turned her head so he wouldn't see, but he caught the persistent tear which slid down her face, and saw the reddened nose he had gotten so used to seeing growing up beside her.
He, gently (as he had learned from his mistakes) tugged at the end of her braid, hair becoming a fiery halo around her small face, to get her attention. "Anne..."
...
"Anne-girl"
...
"I got you some buried treasure..." Anne somewhat perked up at this, although her face was still buried in the log of the tree. "Well, it was technically buried far into the cabinet, but its definitely something you'll love..."
A sniffle.
"No?" Gilbert sighed, unfastening his bags of goods, pulling a piece of chocolate out, "Alright, guess I'll have to just eat the chocolate myself.
And before he could devour the goodness held in his hand, it was swiped faster than he could scream a no, and stuffed into the face of the red nosed girl, who grinned apprehensively as she swallowed what she had stolen.
Gilbert was not impressed, but the look in her eyes quickly fixed that.
"So... wanna talk about it?"
"...erm, it's just stupid Josie," she murmured.
"What'd she do now...?"
The sky quickly darkened, little lights filled up the sky, twinkling every now and then, something which caused a smile to light up Anne's face, as she recounted her tales of trouble to her older, and much wiser friend.
Gilbert, at some point, had stopped listening. The only thing on that little boy's mind, all who he could think of was... well you know who.
