Journalists should remember that Israel's first response after they killed their colleague Shireen Abu-Akleh was to say Palestinians shot her. This is part of a consistent Israeli military information damage control strategy in response to such events.
Then, they attacked her funeral, live on camera in front of the whole world, and proceeded to blame Palestinians.
In 2021, after destroying a building in Gaza housing the AP and Aljazeera office, again on live TV they lied about it being a legitimate target.
In 2018 Israel snipers shot thousands of unarmed Palestinians in Gaza, many live on camera, then lied about them being armed.
In 2014 they killed the Baker boys while they were playing soccer on the beach, in front of the world's cameras, and then they lied about it.
The list goes on and on. It is part of a deliberate strategy to muddy waters & defuse international outrage over the most gruesome crimes so that they can have the maximum possible time to continue carrying them out. If you as a journalist are playing into this, you are complict.

In this video an American general explains how politicians at the Pentagon made decisions to invade seven countries-Iraq, Syria, Libya, Afghanistan, Somalia, Sudan and Iran(oil rich countries) within a five-year span without any reasons. When the military questioned their motives, their response was,-"We have a strong military, so we can overthrow governments."
This one minute video is enough to expose how America, Europe and Israel the so called 'bastion of freedom and human rights' destroy nations to fulfil their evil imperialistic goals.
The audience is laughing while he proudly talks about the genocides that america and its allies have committed.Millions of people died and millions more are facing poverty, starvation, and homelessness even to this day but at least they got a good laugh out of it.

The site of Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh’s killing in Jenin has been bulldozed and her shrine desecrated, in an unexplained early-morning operation on 26 October.
Tumblr media
A surfaced road running between houses has been reduced to huge boulders of broken concrete, and earth dug to over half a meters depth. Vehicles passed up and down the lane. One day after, even walking amid the smashed rocks would be a challenge. The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) has joined its affiliate, the Palestinian Journalists' Syndicate (PJS) in condemning this act of vandalism and recalls on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate the killing of Shireen Abu Akleh.
The road, Balat al-Shuhada’ Street, in the Jabriyat neighbourhood of Jenin is thought to have been ploughed up by heavy civil engineering vehicles at approximately 3 am on 27 October. Locals state that these were operated by members of the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF). Paintings of Abu Akleh, and tributes left on the spot where she was shot have beed destroyed.
Nasser Abu Bakr, PJS president said: “This is a monstrous act of destruction. Shireen’s family and friends have found some solace visiting the place where she was shot down, and placing tributes. This wanton act of vandalism is surely revenge for the report just issued by the UN that states that Israeli forces ‘wilfully or recklessly killed Abu Akleh’. It underlines the need for her case to the investigated by the International Criminal Court ICC, with which the IFJ has already lodged a complaint”.
IFJ General Secretary, Anthony Bellanger said: “I have visited this site myself and know firsthand how important it had become to those who mourn Shireen’s loss. It is hard to see this destruction as anything other than a cruel act of vengeance, of a kind that can only exacerbate tensions in Palestine. The sooner the ICC gives this case the attention it deserves, the better”.

Occupation forces attack the funeral of Shireen Abu Aqleh, the journalist they murdered:
Heavily armed forces are beating up Palestinians carrying Shireen Abu Akleh’s coffin, they’re charging at them with cavalry horses and assaulting them with batons (theyre also kicking those they knock to the ground) and threw sound bombs and stun grenades inside the French Hospital of Jerusalem. Here is the moment of attack:
They’ve besieged the hospital and demand Shireen’s coffin to be hidden inside a hearse instead of her being honored with visible a martyrs funeral being carried over the shoulders of Palestinians
The ocupation yesterday raided the home of Shireen’s family and took down Palestinian flags raised there. They detained Shireen’s brother the day after murdering his sister and ordered “no Palestinian flags. No chants. No walking procession”
Occupation forces have rushed the funeral and continued assaulting Shireen’s family, friends and mourners. They ripped away Palestinian flags (including off the hearse) and are attempting to suppress chants in honor of the martyred journalist
Israeli occupation forces have arrested several mourners for raising the Palestinian flag in occupied East Jerusalem. Abu Akleh’s niece, Lina Abu Akleh, has said Israeli forces are “still trying to silence” her aunt and the mourners gathered for the funeral.

Shireen was a Palestinian Christian and the funeral has moved her body first towards the Church for the service then are moving her towards the Christian cemetery where she will be laid to rest.
The Israeli occupation army asked people “if they are Christian or Muslim”. And Muslims weren’t allowed in to participate in the funeral march. Occupation forces have also prevented thousands of Palestinians from entering the cemetery.
Despite agression and attempts of supression from the occupation Palestinians continue the funeral and resist by still raising Palestinian flags and chanting for Shireen Abu Aqala and for Palestine. Arriving in the dozens of thousands

They murdered her and will not grant her peace even in death, the brutality of the israeli occupation against Palestinians is clear

My art block is usually caused by something that I'm struggling to process. And if I can't draw it or talk about it, it stays with me until it no longer bothers me.
It is difficult to feel helpless in anything I do to show support. Sometimes art feels frivoulous and paltry in the face of so much death and destruction of innocent lives. Yet these are the faces that run over my eyes every night. And there's so many more. So putting them in my pocket sketchbook allows me to carry them close as well. I suppose by coping, I can maybe reach someone new or at least start a line of questions.
I'll be doing one for men and boys as well, then scour the internet for people and voices of sudan, congo, tigray, etc. They don't get enough love and news coverage as it is. It's important to remember that they're not just faces in a screen. They're people, some of them my age, that either gave their lives, lost their lives, or live on a razor's edge.
I have them to thank for giving me the courage to remain outspoken. My only regret is that i can't draw these fast enough, but there's no better time to get creative.
