Week 2 of Drawcember (almost) complete!
I missed one day because I’ve been incredibly busy with work and I’m still really sad about it ;__; so I’ll try to revisit some days during holiday when I have more time to draw.
I managed to only do a double once so far and still haven’t drawn my best boy yet but this has been a fun experience LOL
I hope everyone’s been enjoying these so far! It’s been fun to just kinda draw and experiment again.

Lonely Nights
Sayo can’t seem to sleep tonight. What shall he do?
original publish date. 2 july 2021
Notes. third-person point-of-view, fluff, Sayo Samonji, Shishiou
~400 words
Poor Sayo lied in his stuffy futon alone. The poor boy hadn’t yet met his “brothers” as his current master called them. The saniwa he called master had yet to forge them in the smithy or find them on missions, and so tonight, Sayo lied in his futon in the large tatami mat room on a warm summer night.
Being in the darkness was normal to Sayo and being alone was even more so familiar to him. He wasn’t sure why on this night, he felt the need to shake off his covers and travel out on the veranda.
The night of the new moon made the outside halls feel even darker than usual. It didn’t matter though; Sayo knew the steps he had to take. He walked down the hall, surrounded by the chirps of the cicadas and the steps he took on the wood.
Once reaching the end of the hall, he turned left and quietly opened the sliding door of the familiar yet odd western style room placed in this home. He walked in and closed the door behind, as quietly as he did on his missions, he thought. He went towards the one and only bed in the entire citadel, and with his eyes already adjusted, Sayo studied Shishiou’s form in his bed.
Shishiou was the only one of his “family,” the saniwa had told Sayo, and like Sayo, Shishiou would sleep alone at night. More importantly, to Sayo, Shishiou had been Sayo’s “big brother” in this new form and household. While other families like the Awataguchi and Sanjo already had each other, Sayo still had to wait and wait and wait to become a “family” for the saniwa, and so, Shishiou who had no one else, took care of Sayo.
Shishiou faced towards the wall, curled away from where Sayo stood. It would be a little hard to do, but Sayo had done it before.
Sayo walked to the end of the bed and quietly crawled in. He crawled slowly and as softly as he could, so he wouldn’t wake up poor Shishiou. Little Sayo crawled in between Shishiou’s arms, and despite it being a warm summer night, Sayo fell into a deep sleep, feeling safe with his other “big brother.”
