Love me Mercilessly Kakashi x Akami Chapter 12: Warrant word count: 2.3k previous chapters [x]

Akami meets a certain Uchiha...

Yet again Akami heard that another group of Chunin had picked a fight with Obito. He was getting stronger but three against one when your guard is down isn’t really fair, especially when Obito didn’t want to hurt someone from his own village. They didn’t fight so much as just spew venom at him. Believe it or not, one of them was even an Uchiha. 

Akami got along best with Obito, he still irritated her occasionally. He was too nice when people didn’t deserve it. The only person she really ever saw him antagonize was Kakashi and she couldn’t stand him so it amused her quite a bit that he could get under his skin.  

Obito extended that kindness to her, right from the moment he met her, it was genuine and so was he. A quality she hadn’t seen in many other people.

What she liked most of all though was that he treated her the same way he treated anyone else. He had this diluted dream of becoming Hokage one day, she didn’t really have any dreams of her own, so she would help him achieve his. 

She would pick on Obito herself but really she was just trying to push him. Minato Sensei had called it ‘tough love.’ When she had time she would spar with him, help him train with his sharingan because no one in his clan would. One day she had pushed him too far. 

“Stop crying Obito! Tears are for the weak! The world has no use for the weak! Someone like you will never become Hokage!!” When she saw the look on his face she knew she had gone too far, she left him there. She hated the man who had spoken those words to her. Obito must hate her now too. 

“Hey Akami, You wanna train later? I’ve been working on a new fire style jutsu. I wanna test it out.” Obito asked casually the next time he saw her. Akami looked at him like he had three heads.

“What? Why are you talking to me? Aren’t you mad at me? Don’t you hate me?” 

He laughed loudly, she scowled.

“Of course I don’t hate you, you’re my friend.” He managed through his giggles. “Just because we fought and I got upset doesn’t mean you're not still my friend.” He said as though it was the most obvious thing in the world.

“Oh..” she exchanged her frown for a look of embarrassment.  

“You’re wrong by the way…I will become Hokage.” 

Ever since that day Akami decided that she was the only person who could pick on Obito. Kakashi too, but that was only because he got there first, and well Obito would fight back when he was concerned.

So like she had done before she would dress in her Anbu gear, put on her snake mask and hunt down the kids who bullied her only friend. Obito’s brief description was  more than enough to find them, and if she found the wrong group.. Oh well .

Shisui Uchiha was ten years old when he first met Akami. He had seen her in passing at the Academy. They both graduated at the rank of Chunin by the time they were eight, but they were in different classes. All he remembered was a little girl with big dark hair at the ceremony.  He was already serving in the Uchiha Police Force.

He wasn’t on duty tonight but he still enjoyed walking around the village, following his patrol route. His mind was always racing, faster than he could follow. As his thoughts stilled for just a second he heard the sounds of a fight, skin meeting skin and bodies hitting the ground. He moved closer to investigate.

They appeared to be 14 to 15, closer to Obito’s age. That didn’t matter much, Akami knocked them around without a problem. Only one was unconscious. Oops.  

“If I see any of you go near Obito Uchiha again, I'll send you back to your parents in pieces.” They nodded furiously at her mostly empty threat. 

She knew they wouldn’t say anything, too embarrassed at being beaten by a ten year old girl. She threw the unconscious boy at his friends and left, other than a few bruises they’d be alright.

The first thing Shisui recognized was her big dark hair. Her face was hidden behind a mask, but he knew it was the same girl he graduated from the Academy with two years ago. 

So she’s Anbu now...interesting. 

Then he saw the three boys struggling to get to their feet as she walked off. They seemed alright, despite the threat she gave.

Obito Uchiha huh?

Shisui was too entertained by the situation to let it go. He shunshined in front of her. 

“If you’re going to pumble three Chunin, you might not want to do it out in the open.”

Akami scoffed and pushed past him. Now he was curious. 

“You know…I could arrest you for that?” He teased.

She stopped walking and turned to face him, placing a hand on her hip. 

“This doesn’t concern you, besides you’d need a warrant. Good luck getting one.” She turned around knowing he wouldn’t push the issue further. If he really wanted to arrest her he would have.

Something about him made her stomach flip. He shared the Uchiha clan’s dark features and good looks, but he seemed…different.

Shisui couldn’t get the girl with the snake mask and big hair out of his head. Something about her really intrigued him. Obito was the black sheep of their clan, despite that he was kind to everyone he met. Shisui wasn’t friends with him, Obito was a few years older, but he had no ill will towards him. He liked that she defended him, he liked that she took on three boys older and bigger than her, he liked that she wasn’t threatened by him. 

He didn’t like that he had no idea who she was.

Akami left the Anbu training grounds around mid-day, she had just dropped off her mission report to Danzo. As she exited the facility, she noticed that same Uchiha boy from a few days ago, pacing back and forth across from the building. He stopped when he saw her. She froze. 

What the hell was he doing here? Oh no, did he actually get a warrant!?
