So, Ive started a rewatch of 9gn, and I would like to ask your opinion on the doodle vision thing. Is it just Randy remembering the pages do you think? or is the nomicon giving him a sort of limited mental text through their connection? Like especially when it seems to point to specific objects or such?

Personally, I like to think it's a little bit of both!

In my head, the first time Randy put on the mask, a surface level connection has been made between him - mask - Ninjanomicon. That's what allows the Ninjanomicon be aware of what is going on in Randy's life (how it reacts to his actions and decisions, and what prompts it to warn him/give him a lesson) despite it being, ya know a book without eyes and ears.

(on extra side note/headcanon, but I believe this is also the reason why Ninjanomicon needs the Messenger/Creep to scope out potential future ninjas - Messenger observes and evaluates and chooses, because Ninjanomicon cannot evaluate until after the candidate put the mask on and/or opened the book to establish that first surface connection.)

So, after Ninjanomicon gives a lesson, it continues to observe, and when we see doodles its because Randy is remembering AND Ninjanomicon is sort of nudging him with some of those visuals. Cause, like, more often than not the doodles appear just before/during a revelation Randy is having, but there are also sometimes extra doodle words like 'duh' or 'now this is a weapon' which feels a lot like commentary from someone else than Randy. There is some form of synchronicity - a mind drift, if you want, going on betwen them imho.

I like to think that the longer a Ninja is connected to the Nomicon, the stronger that connection gets, so at some point in the future Ninjanomicon can actually properly talk through doodles not only inside it and through memory, but also out in real life.

But since having such a strong connection is detrimental to a Ninja (aka, too much knowledge from Nomicon connection can lead to faster corruption by power) and Ninja's duty lasts only roughly 4 years, its very rare that the connection between the two gets so strong that Ninjanomicon can actually 'talk' rather than just recall memory of an already given lesson.

Also can you imagine a Ninja actually interacting with doodle talk out in real life as Nomicon talks to them? Ninja will seem like a crazy person! xD

Just saw Venom 2

And let me just say, I think it’s an awful movie. The lighting? Lovely. The scenery? Stunning. The character designs? Sick. But the writing and half of the actors are so genuinely awful.

But it’s the gayest movie I’ve ever seen? Like, they literally made Venom go find himself at the gay club and give a speech about queer acceptance. They made Venom tell Eddie he loved him. They win because “they’re a match”. There are no themes to the movie, it’s solely a story about how Eddie and Venom need each other, how they make each other better.

That’s peak cinema.

Partners in Time is a criminally underrated Mario & Luigi game. The game isn't perfect, I think if there was just no time travel and the game was in the normal mushroom kingdom and not the past somehow nothing would change. That concept adds nothing and really just confuses things. However what I wanna talk about is what really fascinates me about the game, it's antagonists the Shoobs. The Shroobs are an INCREDIBLY intimidating and interesting antagonist, they're a dark reflection trope but also an EXTREME version of Toads. Everything they do is hyper violent and taken to 11, nothing they do is simple, it's always crazy. Not to mention they're not just invaders, they're colonists! They're actively changing the mushroom kingdom to suit them. From the Vim factory using the native toads as saucer fuel to a giant robot trying to change all Yoshi's into Yoobs, they're constantly and rapidly terraforming the land. Not to mention how they're always turning people and things into inanimate poison mushrooms, the Shoobs are scary and very effective at what they do. The plot twist of the Elder Princess Shroob is also very well seeded throughout the adventure and she's the perfect true dark mirror to Peach. Huge, strong, merciless, we don't learn much about her but her boss fight is perfect in telling us how she views her subjects. Through the fight a ton of her attacks involve using and destroying Shoob flying saucers simply to attack with their corpses, her people are nothing but tools to her. This all combines to a fantastic antagonistic force that in my opinion isn't matched in another mario rpg.

Moore is #fine‚ nothing more (potentially controversial take? i don't rate her as an actor) and the rest of the cast is nothing to write home about #the fx are sometimes goofy and sometimes gore splattered ingenuity; the final act contains some real gruesome body horror #oh and as the poster subtly suggests‚ this was shot for 3d so expect much pointing into the camera and stuff jumping up

So, I’ve been thinking of an RC9GN Actors AU (I only have the RC9GN bloopers and myself to blame for that), and I can’t stop thinking of an AU where OG Randy and Howard meet their Actor counterparts.

I can see it going, like:

OG Randy: Wait, so you’re telling me that everything I’ve been doing, my whole life in general, is just some action-comedy show?

Actor Randy: Well, I guess you could say it like that. Anyway, what’s it like being an actual ninja?

OG Randy: Oh, it’s the cheese! Like...

... Meanwhile, with OG and Actor Howards...

Actor Howard: So, wait. If everything that we did in the set actually happened in your universe, does that mean Randy launched me in fricking space!?

OG Howard: He sure did. Man, I need to remind that shoob Cunningham that he did that every once in a while.

Actor Howard:

When First Ninja mentioned about "brothers dying in the battlefield", i imagined First Ninja having Nurse-Joy-kind-of bros and the First Ninja maybe being the youngest, he is the FIRST Ninja after all,,, maybe first to wield THE mask.

First drawing is First Ninja's bros hanging out with him and telling folktales that'll eventually relate to the balls, and First Ninja training and getting himself hit by a rake or whatever you call it (referencing one of Randy's training).

Second drawing is the bros leaving behind First Ninja and on their way to protect numbers of villages and perhaps brought into war against the Sorcerer's terror.

Third drawing is First Ninja, all grown up and fully trained, who planned to visit his bros' hideout only to be greeted by destruction under the snowfall, sensing that it was the Sorcerer's doing.

I've been thinking does casey even know cassandra? cause when mentioning her name he doesn't even know her until he sees the mask. i feel like casey jr would like miss her without knowing her. if rise does get a 3rd season I think cass meeting casey would be cute episodes like he actually gets to see his mom. (sorry for the long writing)

We don’t know how long Cassandra has been in Casey Jr’s life but we do know/we can assume she’s been in his life long enough for him to recognize her when he sees photos of her. Of course he’s not gonna recognize her when he just sees a text April got from someone named “Cassandra” he most likely didn’t know that that is his mother’s name. Kids often don’t know what their parents names are until later in life. 

The real question is how did the Turtles, April, Splinter not realize Casey Jr was Cassandra’s son from the future? Like, Cassandra has told them that her nickname is“Casey” and they know full well that her last name is Jones, so why didn’t they put the pieces together themselves when this time traveler from the future introduced himself as Casey Jones?

But back to topic, I think it would be sweet to see Casey Jr meet and bond with his mother from the past, it be a cute episode, but at the same time I wonder what that will mean for the space-time continuum as Donna mentioned by the end of the movie. Will Casey Jr just stay in the past, living along side his mom when she was a teenager, or will he return to a better and fixed future?? Season 3 could help answer these questions.
