While the idea of Xenk in Honour Among Thieves being a DMPC or an NPC is funny, I’m much more a fan of the idea that he’s actually a PC controlled by somebody else who played a full campaign with the same DM. Because meta textually, I can clearly imagine the conversation between the DM and Xenk’s player:
DM: “…So yeah I kinda fucked up the CR’s of the Underdark encounters but my current group is super excited and determined to head down there and since Xenk was already down there before…dude please help me, one session.”
Xenk’s Player: “I dunno, Xenk’s character arc felt pretty complete to me…”
DM: “Wait…The Red Wizards are the bad guys of this campaign too! You can finally settle the score with that asshole Dralas!”
Xenk’s Player: “…You sonnuvabitch, I’m in.”
DM: “YES! Oh also, Edgin’s-the Bard’s-backstory has him being a former Harper, so I have some ideas on how you could drive him nuts…”

Winslow Homer in 1880 - Born: February 24, 1836 – Died: September 29, 1910
An American landscape painter and illustrator, best known for his marine subjects. He is considered one of the foremost painters in 19th-century America and a preeminent figure in American art.
Largely self-taught, Homer began his career working as a commercial illustrator. He subsequently took up oil painting and produced major studio works characterized by the weight and density he exploited from the medium. He also worked extensively in watercolor, creating a fluid and prolific oeuvre, primarily chronicling his working vacations.

If elves have flexible/mobile ears, they should also reflexively flatten them against their skulls when they yawn. Like a cat.

that type of person who you think you'd be friends with in every universe - expressed through jim & corey - id/transcript in alt text
so this is a kind of not-so-surprise for my friend @sinclarsupremacy , bc they were the first person i showed this two and was on the phone with me the whole time while i made it. didn't give a single thing away until everything was scanned and done. five dead pens and one reliable sharpie later, i show him this. wanted to get used to drawing the slipsour guyz more but also wanted to articulate something i have troubles saying to important people. this is kind of an ode to all my close friends ive made who i definitely wouldve hung around some graveyards with, and an ode to some bands i didnt know id like as much as i do 🫶

Idk why one of my favorite relationship dynamics is "if these characters did a freaky friday body swap, they would both Love it and mutually agree to never change back because of their individual personalities being better suited to the other persons life."
It's like. Oh that fucker has everything you've ever wanted and is living your Dream, but they're absolutely miserable doing it. And you? You've got everything They've ever wanted and every time they look at you their eyes are full of complete envy. and then you both accidentally make the other person see the beauty and joy in their own life and grow a deep admiration for the strengths youve each cultivated and a respect for the challenges your dream lives pose. and while you can't switch, just being together let's you reach out and briefly experience or perfect life for moments at a time.
