If Sun and Moon could eat or drink they would eat your coffee cups the moment you’re not looking, they’d “confiscate” items only to hide them in a little space somewhere in their miserable room (they’d look so smug about taking them just to hide them for later), I think caffeine would make Moon a little loopy because I think Moon is a bit of a spider. Have you seen what happens to spiders on caffeine?

Like, this is Moon on caffeine, he’s made his web and now he has to lie in it.

I like to think if Sun could get hyped up on caffeine the effect would stick when they switched and Moon would not be happy about it.

I think if Sun could like a drink he would like those summery drinks like frappuccinos the most, I bet if he could drink caffeine he’d have an extreme response like either he’d be restless for DAYS or he’d unexpectedly short circuit and actually run out of energy. Maybe both.

Looking at your fandoms, I can’t help but think some sort of Bingqiu in Spy X Family (or a SxF Xianxia fusion) could be super fun!

The question is… what would their roles be.

Assassin Luo Binghe, or spy Luo Binghe… and which of them gets gender swapped. 🤔

Oh!! Maybe Shen Yuan was meant to be an ally of the female half of the main duo, Liu Mingyan, but through shenanigans he somehow ends up with her role instead, and the System demands he fake marry Binghe anyway. 😂

The way i see it Binghe would definitely be the assassin, Shen Yuan is too big of a softie not to mention one who so easily put on the mask of another man before so he would definitely be the spy.

But also being oblivious to feelings yet a capable badass, bad in the kitchen, feeling inadequate as a partner? All Shen Yuan. Binghe with his protagonist Halo meanwhile would fit better with Mr. All around perfect Husband. So i guess it'd be a little like Yor and Loyd had switched professions.

Shen Yuan's over protective brother in a position of power? I wonder who that would be? Enter Shen Jiu haha. Rather than secret police he'd be a detective looking in to all the murders rather than keeping state secrets from spies though. To keep that rivalry between him Binghe. The family member Binghe became an assassin to provide for? His mom. The gardener AKA the guy who hired him and hands him his missions? Meng Mo. Franky,the spy's funny informant and gadget supplier, occasional babysitter and not to mention bestfriend? Shang Qinghua.

I dont know if i should replace Fiona with Liu Quinge as Fiona's character really would fit Binghe better. But Liushen is a weakness of mine even if onesided and those two were just made for coworker romances. Maybe I should give Binge someone trying to woe him too? Sha hualing? Then if i dont go with your other idea of having SY transmigrate in to Liu Mingyan (which i am saving up in my head because i absolutely love the idea) then i can add something in the background with her and Sha hualing. I'm positive i could find a way to write in Mobei for SQH or i could go with Scumplane and have him end up Shen Jiu and actually yeah that would work, need to distract SJ long enough for Bingyuan to get it on afterall. Oh what about SQH x SJ x LQG? Or should Shen Yuan get a second husbandafterall? Alternatively imagine LQG crying over a bowl of icecream.

Next question is if SY didnt transmigrate into LMY then who is he? What about Ning Yingying? Who could be SJ's little sister in this world? Or he couldve just been put in there as a female version of himself. Or like it was with Shen quingiu a character who vaguely resembles him and has a similar name. She just happens to be a woman though. Or maybe go with the mulan aproach and have him crossdress? But then how does he explain to his brother that he's suddenly - he could say that he's in love with binghe and the only way to marry him was fake his papers to pretend to be a woman since queer marriage isnt yet allowed in their fictional country. Like no one cares if they date its just they havent gotten to the legalisation of marriage yet. And if SJ asks why they had to get married so suddenly anyway (cuz no way in hell is SY getting away with saying he forgot to tell him for a year) he could say that they had to so they could adopt their daughter. Who in this case scenario could be Ning Yingying, should she still have Anyas powers? damian could be Ming fan or the little palace girl or whatever (im not yet far enough in the books to now her and the old man that well so id have to check the wiki) and i could make the palace master donovan desmond and have SY and LBH team up to take him down in the end.

Anyways yeah these are just some ideas, and again thanks for the prompt! I can't wait to write this! Maybe i'll draw something for it later too. ❤️

So I was wondering, what materials do you use for your traditional drawings (all the stuff from sketch to final piece)?

For the sketchbook pages, I mainly stuck to these materials though ^^ these guys are my…

PRIMARY MATERIALS

The green mechanical pencil on the picture on the left has 0.7mm colored lead in it! I alternate between blue and pink colored leads depending on what fits the overall color of the piece better.

Once I finish up the sketch, I line it with the black pilot ballpoint pen! I really like the control and feel of ballpoint pens for traditional lineart, because it gives a sort of variety in pressure I can’t seem to achieve with normal fineliners. I like to switch up the colors of the lineart too sometimes, hence the pink and red ballpens.

Then once the linearts done, I color them in with the stabilo highlighters, as pictured on the right! These guys are my FAVORITES. Sometimes when I’m just freely sketching I use the grey or peach mini stabilos. Although, they do tend to be a bit runny, ‘cause they’re meant for quick highlights and not multiple strokes over an area ^^; so you do have to be careful and quick when coloring with them to get an even coat of color!

SECONDARY MATERIALS

Pictured above are all my alcohol based markers! The four on the left are neon sharpies for when I need that extra eyestrainy kick. The three promarkers with the pointy cap were from when I was a freshman in uni and wanted to collect a full set of alcohol markers, but these were the only colors they had in stock and the college supply store ✌️ I’ve since given up on that dream because they were really expensive ;; they’re really good for sunny grassy scenes though! The last dark blue marker was from a set of other blue markers, but the others have since dried out… I use it when I really wanna darken up a page, like for night scenes!

This is my prismacolor set! I like to pair these with the markers, going in after the initial layer of color to give a bit of variety or shine. Some examples of when I use them would be for adding blush or giving hair a glossy sheen 👍

I use these when I really just wanna scribble something down wildly. I had these since I was in gradeschool and its quite frankly a miracle they still work? Oh, and the red and yellow twistable crayolas are missing because I vaguely remember giving them to some childhood friends for some reason 🤔

My fineliners and gellyrolls! Haven’t used these much recently tbh. I’d used them for class before, but I never really likes how flat the thickness tends to be :/ the brush tips and chisel tips are cool though. I used them for that one yellow bdubs doodle to try and see if my opinion of them has changed ^^ it hasn’t. Moving on…

Lastly, we have the special materials! The ones that don’t really go into any sets, or have nice applications. In order from left to right:

Wink of Stella - A brush pen that applies glitter through some sort of black magic. No idea how she works but I love her

Red Marvy Art Director 1400 - A red fine tip marker. Can’t go wrong with a bright red marker 👍

Golden Posca - My only posca marker. Figured if I should get one it might as well be something special.

Faber Castell Blue Highlighter - I use this alongside the stabilos. It has a really nice deep blue color ^^

Heyoo!! I've been hard at work and I have a couple drawings of my Monkie Kid Au's characters'll look like! I won't give spoilers yet cause I need to figure out the overall story for the comic(cause some bits are still a work in progress), so yeh! I'll give a short explination for each drawing tho if it helps.(also, Sorry if this is super long 😅)

Anyways, to start off with, we have MK!

To start off with, since I'm making him the son of Macaque and Sun Wukong, he's gotta have a monkey form! Soo I gave him the tail but for the ears, since Sun has 2 and Macaque has 6, I thought I'd just meet in the middle with 4. Soo you bet he'll have sensitive hearing now with this, next is the outfit, I kinda kept it simple,changing a few bits but I tried combining the S1 and S3 jackets together, buut I thought 'why not add some purple to him?'. Oh and the bandana! I wanted it to be Sorta reminiscent of Macaque's scarf, and yeh, that's basically it for now.

Now Onto Mei.

I wanted to give her a type of bomber jacket just the middle part being shorter than the previous jacket she wore. Annddd the dress shirt she has underneath, I wanted to keep it her style soo I watched the last 4 episodes of season 3 again and came up with making a green flame design on it. Though i thought adding some pastel purple and pastel pink details would work with her as well, plus some red as a reference to the samadhi fire. Also, Can't go wrong with a choker that has a flame charm on it can you?

Next up, our resident fire demon, Red Son!

I wanted to add some Demon Bull king elements to him as a start, sooo, the tail came in and I added a set of horns that'll be growing in. I kept most of his old outfit just adding extra details to the shoes andd adding a dog tag that has the Chinese symbol for "Family" on it. Ohhh but the jacket was the most fun to draw, I wanted to keep it both fancy but pretty exaggerated. Sooo I used the Yu-Gi-Oh Character Seto Kaiba as a reference. Now this is only one version of the jacket since he'll have a separate one with his original logo on the back. Buuut this sleeveless version has the symbol of the Ox from the Chinese zodiac on the back of it, though I wonder, where did he get it from? 🤔

And lastly, We have Sun Wukong and Macaque themselves!

Now, I thought about keeping a sort of Sun and Moon motif to them whilst looking at their previous outfits for ideas.

For Macaque, the first thing I did, was to make sure I kept Macaque's blind eye(which he may hide from time), I switched up his scarf colour since he got rid of his old one and gave it to someone else. The rest sort of fell into place after that.

For Sun Wukong on the other hand, I used refs of his outfits and armour from the show, but also looked at the Monkey king:Reborn 2021 movie's version of Sun anndd the 2015 Monkey king:The Hero is Back movie's version of him for help with keeping his outfit traditional but adding my own ideas to it. For the pauldrons on his shoulders, I came up with the idea that he may have been given a couple scales from his friend the White Horse Dragon before he passed away, used those to make his armour. Oh and I tried making it so each colour represents a past friend of his, So Tang Sanzeng, Zhu Bājiè, White Horse Dragon, Nezha and a bit of Macaque too.

But, the MAIN part I wanted to keep, was the Golden Fillet he wore during his journey to the west with his master and allies. Granted he got rid of it but a headcanon of mine is that he kept it, after he was able to take it off, as a memory of his master, Tang Sanzeng. So I stretched it out a bit wider and made it a sort of crown(Idk what that type of crown is called).

So yeah! That's it for now and I'm so sorry if anything sounds like I blabbered on or didn't explain some parts enough, I'm not the best with explaining things, I just draw to have fun tbh. Anyways! I hope you like them! And please, go ahead and suggest below who you think I should redesign next and whatever ideas you have for them.

i dont think she has many outfits 😢😢 but ill try my best

here is her in game outfit!! even though the colors are kind of horrendous together (sorry sara 😢) it actually kinda looks good together too 🤔 i think its because they all kinda have the same color value/saturation level??? i dont know how to explain it or which one its called but i heard somewhere that theres like a color rule with outfits where colors should have the same level of saturation as each other, so like pastel colors go with pastel colors, faded colors go with other faded colors, etc.

OBVIOUSLY THIS RULE CAN BE BROKEN AND THE OUTFIT CAN STILL LOOK GOOD!! but i think that rule is being applied here with sara's uniform because the undershirt, tie, blazer, socks and some of the skirt are all sort of faded colors (except the other parts of the skirt are brighter) so it doesnt look too overwhelming/in your face and they actually look nice together once you get used to it

also if you just look at the outfit in general without acknowledging the colors its pretty much just a basic school uniform but it does look very nice.. this might indicate that sara has more of a preppy style?? but it is her school uniform so she does have to wear it regardless

HOWEVER in the spinoff game your turn to shine she says that she thinks the uniforms are cute!! so in my opinion this confirms that she has more a preppy style with like blazers and ties because she likes her uniform.. and also based on the colors maybe she likes wearing a lot of color in her outfits (but like more faded ones)

moving on i found this picture i know its in one of the official artbooks but i forgot what its called.. (also she looks soo pretty here) anyways im going to try to analyze what we see

the left one on the top is showing off saras hair which is very pretty 😊 and i think shes just wearing her school uniform?? im not sure because the skirt doesnt have the same pattern but nankidai couldve just not wanted to draw it but anyway if it isnt her school uniform it looks like shes wearing a blazer (maybe) and a skirt which matches with the preppy style that i think she has

the right one on the top is i think her kendo uniform?? so i dont wanna be disrespectful about it and i don't really think she gets to choose her uniform so i won't comment about it

the left one on the bottom is also just saras uniform i think

the right one on the bottom is a tracksuit and SHE LOOKS SO CUTE IN IT its probably really cold because her breath is like that puff smoke thing that comes out when you breathe when its cold so that would explain why shes wearing it obviously.. you can tell its not that bright of a color so i think the faded colors thing still applies but i think it might be like.. her school gym uniform thing so she might not have a choice still but i still think it looks very good on her

i think this is anniversary art?? you cant see much of it 😢 but you can tell its a kimono and its a very pretty one🤯 it has the same circle/flower pattern as her school uniform skirt (sort of) so that might be something she likes to wear also the flower is really pretty

(im not sure what kind of hat it is but it kinda looks like a baseball cap but like better) i think maybe when it gets colder but not cold enough to switch to sonobeno's winter uniform she might layer those little coats over her uniform..

the red doesnt really match anything on her uniform but it follows the faded rule so its okay 👍same with her hat thingy its very cute.. she looks like a little detective (i think thats the point) and the little sprout (???) detail at the top is cute she might wear those kind of hats when the sun is out or something 🤔

anyways 😊 the strawberry pattern on the cardigan is very cute and along with the skirt pattern thing i think she would like to wear cute patterns with like flowers and strawberries and things like that.. also maybe she would layer cardigans over her school uniform when it gets cold too (along with the small jacket thing)

also in pretty much all of her outfits (except the cardigan one) the collar of her shirts is pretty high so i don't think she'd like to wear shirts that are like low cut or shirts with off-the-shoulder neckline

so overall here is how i would style sara:

an overall preppy style with button up shirts, blazers, ties, etc.

more faded/subtle colors but maybe some clothes can have pops of bright color

shirts with high collars (like the ones that are popped up) and also maybe turtlenecks?

also cute patterns with stuff like the flowers and strawberries

pretty kimonos with pretty patterns

maybe cute bow details on her clothes or bows in her hair??

or bow sashes maybe

for when it gets cold maybe one or two tracksuits + pretty cardigans and those little jacket thingies to layer over her regular clothes

also maybe little cute caps that match her outfits

I don’t mind answering this question as an artist but some people might not feel comfortable answering questions of a sexual nature even in terms of art, especially from someone they haven’t interacted with beforehand, so please keep that in mind. ^^”

The advice I give might not work for everyone, but that’s okay. I admit I haven’t personally done as much anatomy practice lately, lately, but in theory these should still be helpful since people often use references when they want to draw something they’re not familiar with. With that being said, more suggestive or mature art…🤔

Bodies come to mind first, right? In a suggestive or explicit artwork, bodies might be a focus, or maybe facial expressions? It’d be a good chance to practice drawing anatomy or expressions, then. For poses, look up reference photos of people, maybe in form-fitting outfits so it’s easier to see the body (if you’re not comfortable with looking at nude references), and study them. If it’s more than one character in the artwork, then photos of more than one person interacting with eachother would help. I suppose it’d be easier to search up photos of people making out since it’s on-topic, but one could also reference non-suggestive photo for a suggestive artwork so that’s helpful too.

Line of Action is a great resource for figure drawing or reference photos. It has photos for figure drawing, animals, hands and feet, facial expressions, etc. There’s an option to set a timer for the photo switches so the figure drawing can be quantity over quality to serve as good practice. You can choose between clothed/nude models, time intervals, etc. Though I think each photo only features one person?

I’m not an art student, but I think when it comes to nude models, they’re helpful for aspects of anatomy, including genitalia. One can also look up artworks by other artists who draws suggestive or mature art to see if there’s something about their artstyle that you like, but I suppose that depends on the platform’s restrictions on explicit work.

Anatomy aside, I wonder if sites that offer written tips/ideas/guides on… er, mature techniques would be inspiring for scenario ideas? Or understanding certain dynamics? The way I see it, it’s like researching about different weapons and fighting techniques when you want to draw a fight scene.

In general, when it comes to art, everyone has their preference on what scenario or parts to draw, right? Not everyone has a realistic artstyle, but stylization and abstraction can be done well when it stems from real-life references.

Bodies are diverse and imperfect. Things like manga often will not have realistic depictions, since the artstyle can often be very stylized.

Oh, I’ve also heard of the tip of “be obsessed with a character and draw them a lot, and your art will improve”. That’s true for suggestive art too. It might be frustrating at times, but interest or a desire to finish things regardless of their quality can be a great motivator.

Perfection doesn’t exist, but progress is visible. What you have in your mind might not be the same as what you ended up drawing, but you need something to work with before you can fix the mistakes and make changes. I’m still trying to remember all this as well, but it’s better to finish something and move on to new ideas, than to never create out of a fear of imperfection.

🤔 well this is a heck of a first ask

Copying other artists when you’re just starting out isn’t necessarily a bad thing - it’s a good way to train hand-eye co-ordination and practice styles that don’t come naturally to you. Life drawing can be super intimidating to a lot of artists, after all. And if you want to practice by giving other people gift art, well heck, go for it.

However, I don’t think it’s healthy for anyone to completely dedicate themselves to impressing their idol. This isn’t just because you could potentially lock yourself into one style and not be able to switch it up - it’s more that it puts the Veteran in an awkward position, and you in an even worse one. Not everyone wants that sort of attention. And, unfortunately, some of the people who don’t mind it can really misuse their status as an “idol”.

It doesn’t matter how well you know them, how famous they are, or what skill you’re trying to learn. If you want to better yourself, do it for yourself. ...or for someone who might want to pay you. That’s good, too.

As for your other questions - I‘m afraid my understanding of Australia’s current political climate isn’t quite nuanced enough for me to weigh in on your second question, but man, I fucking love snacks. I ate like an entire can of pringles while I was in Sydney the other day and I have no regrets.
