people boo hooing over sniper/admin fail to recognize one of sniper's greatest and most fun potential character traits: cougar hunter

many snipers live in my mind but one of them that i love to think about is that he's slept his way from admin, to spy (and scout's mom), to medic. something like this:

admin: how he got his contract with mann co. a fun lay that turned into "i like your back muscles. you should come work for me". well mick mundy isn't gonna tell a cougar No, so... ah, why not! doesn't go steady with her because it doesn't suit either of them and sniper's not interested in having a relationship with his boss. both are professionals about it so its all good

spy: hooks up with spy after he too admits that he admires his back muscles. introduces him to his Even Older Wife (scout's mom) and she twirls his hair and asks him to stay the night. well mick mundy isn't gonna tell two cougars No, so... ah, why not! the three of them are a throuple now. scout comes home and sees sniper walking around in a speedo in their backyard and scout's like "hey mom why is sniper almost naked in our backyard?" and spy's like "ummmmmm he's. cleaning our pool." <- sniper would actually love to do that for them if they had a pool but they do not. he'd stick around this relationship for a while because he likes helping scout's mom out with household stuff, gets good backstab protection from spy at work, and the sex is incredible. sniper also has to break it to scout that he will in fact be at scout's house for dinner during the holidays......... because scout's two hot moms will be there.............. and they invited him already. but thanks for the second invite mate!

medic: revives sniper from the dead and calls him a medical marvel. he admires his his breedable hips (obviously). sniper tells medic any way he can make it up to him for saving him just let him know :). medic says he'd like to see these back muscles he's heard so much about (milfs talk after all) and sniper says well mick mundy isn't gonna tell a cougar No, so... ah, why not! and he happily becomes medic's service top and they bond over post-coital small talk about hazardous plants and exotic animals. easiest relationship to maintain, neither of them are overly clingy since it's just sex. they fool around when they can (and often when they shouldn't be!) and have the time of their lives.

important notes:

sniper owns a shirt (or hat) that says "COUGARS: TO BE HUNTED BUT NEVER TAMED". admin and spy hate it. medic loves it. scout's mom is the one that bought it for him :)

sniper has Zero Conventional Attractiveness/Sex Appeal. he's just in the right place at the right time and has a silly little Air about him that make older women need him

milfs and cougars talk Of Course. medic, spy, scout's mom and admin are all on the phone late at night talking about how much Fun sniper is and that they love his weird goofy swagger. lord have mercy when his voice goes all low and breathy though!

A powerful fixer in Night City, operating from the shadows and only known by their alias. Cold and ruthless, focused entirely on wreaking havoc in the existing mercenary world by planting seeds of distrust and paranoia, to pit everyone up against each other. While their interference is still minimal, the long-term consequences can be felt in every corner of the city.

Once a powerful Arasaka asset, the Broker has access to a tight network of assassins- a few highly skilled killers who serve as their security network, all ex-Arasaka as well. Through connections they also have an entire division of Militech in their pocket, and the NCPD tends to turn them a blind eye.

The Broker is a horrible fixer, presenting themself as "one of the good guys" and luring mercs in with eddies and empty promises. With their charismatic nature, they're able to use the backstabbing and corruption in Night City's underworld as a tool to manipulate mercs into thinking no one can be trusted and the entire network has to be destroyed for good, and they themself are the only person in the whole city they can trust; this way, their mercs end up developing a strange dependency on them, meaning they'll do anything they tell them to do without giving it a second thought.

Though once the Broker has lured the mercs in, they stop paying them well and give them little support while they do all their dirty work, uncaring about what happens to them and whether or not they'll make it out alive. The mercs are mere tools to the Broker to achieve their long-term goals, and they even take pride in killing those who dare to disagree with them- turning them into an example for others.

Some time after Vincent has been cured and is no longer actively dying, one of Vitali's cargo trucks is intercepted by a group of his old mercenaries- all people who felt betrayed and abandoned by him after his departure from Night City with Vincent about six months ago, when they left for Arizona in hopes to find a cure. The attack leaves Lauren, Eddie and Mikhail gravely injured and it can be traced back to the Broker; while it is still unclear what their deal with Vitali is, they now seem to be targeting him and his entire fixer network specifically.

If I were a merc, I'd be shy around other people at first,until I get to know them a bit,then I would be more comfortable to be myself bit by bit. I would help my teammates the best I can, and train my dogs to help in battle. I like to hang out by myself, cause I don't like being near a lot of people, cause I'm nervous around others,and sadly bad at names. I would try my best to aim,even if I can't. I would hang out in my room and read, or draw when I want peace and quiet. I would sometimes hunt for food,or just hang out in the woods where it's peaceful.

Mercury Black for the bingo card?

to clarify, nothing I like about Mercury's personality traits are technically overtly canon, BUT I do love his backstory and wish we could know more! I said "wasted potential" but that's with the knowledge that the show is ongoing, I just mean I feel he has the setup to be a much better character but the show hasn't quite explored it enough yet. Most of my Mercury enjoyment is fanon, though I admit I don't think of him much. He's fun and has good banter with Emerald, a super intriguing past, a mystery semblance (that I like to think he can still re-unlock on his own as it is part of his soul, but he doesn't think he can), and a cool fighting style! I like him more in my mind than in the show thus far, but there's enough there I could see them doing with him in the future to keep me interested.
