without a doubt, nightcrawler was totally the best movie of 2014. jake gyllenhaal totally rocked lou really well and went all the way out obviously dropping a few pounds for the role.
good movie 10/10 watch it
nightcrawler is a really good movie so far. i really love how during like “shot revelations” it plays like disney-esque triumphant music to just further give off the whole desensitization vibe thing
For motivation, I wrote out the climactic emotional scene of my characters that they’re moving towards.
Honestly, I love it. It’s exactly what I wanted and was the genesis idea for writing the whole story.
It’s a shipfic in the sense that the whole story revolves around the complicated relationship of two characters, but it’s dark. The characters are messy. They don’t always make good choices. They hurt each other — not physically — and people around them.
And in truth… the ship sails, sort of, but it’s not fluffy. The scene was painful to write, but I think it’s good.
But readers who might have expected the ship sail scene to be less complicated and conflicting are probably going to be upset. I’m not totally sure how to tag for it, to be honest. Genfic doesn’t really fit because ultimately it is about these people, but it’s not shipfic in the sense that I’m trying to give these characters happily-ever-after.submitted by /u/MovieNightPopcorn
I’m posting a new fic and noticing that my older one hasn’t gotten very many hits, which I’m chalking up to not knowing how to tag or title at the time, I’ve figure out how to title but I can not for the life of me figure out tagging. Help a newbie out?submitted by /u/TorrenceTheWasp
This might seem like quite a popular opinion, and some of you have probably heard people talking about this topic a countless times, but I still felt like discussing it and expressing my own personal thoughts and experience.
I discovered Wattpad around 2014, and maybe it was due to my young age (I was only 13 at the time) but the app was completely different from what I still remember. It was way easier getting recognition for stories, all those cliche stories were not overpopulating my front page and in general the app on its own was way better.
I can no longer read a story without being bothered with a bunch of adds appearing after almost every chapter. The writing and stories somehow keep getting worse. So many stories look the same, probably to attract as many readers as possible. In general I lost interest for this app.
And with the whole data breach that happened last summer I deleted my e-mail address (that was probably unnecessary now that I look back but anyway). After a few weeks I remade a wattled account but I just lost interest. It got to the point where I spent more time on those adds than the stories.
Maybe I am just getting older, but the average Wattpad user is so young, I can barely connect to anyone. The comments I would sometimes receive under my stories were so pointless and childish, and many times had nothing to do with my stories.
I deleted Wattled and switched over to AO3. Although AO3 also has some questionable people and stories, it is so much better than Wattpad. People in general are more mature and it is so much easier getting recognition as well.
Although I love AO3 now, I do admit that I miss some of the stuff on Wattpad. AO3 is primarily fan fiction focused, while Wattpad has also many original stories. Wattpad’s design is also way more eye appealing and sometimes it was also easier to connect with people on Wattpad in general.
Maybe I was just so young back then that I couldn’t truly judge the app and the stories, but even now I can see that Wattpad has changed a lot.
I would love to continue Wattpad, but the app is just overfilled with 12-15 year olds and wayyyy too many adds, it makes it unreadable.
How do you guys feel about it?submitted by /u/princessfromafar
If it’s also a fic where the SI does not become a Pirate at all even better but that’s just a secondary performance and if the SI becomes a pirate but still doesn’t eat a Devil Fruit it’s good enough for me.
It also would be interesting if it explores things like Haki and Rokushikisubmitted by /u/ScytheWielder44
My friend is writing an entire Fanfic inspired by my oneshot. Because they loved it so much! I’m feeling very happy. Neve thought that I would inspire someone to do this.
Well technically he asked me if he should write the fanfic because he loved it so much and I said yes. But it still kinda counts.submitted by /u/FreddyjumpiYt
Today’s video is my non-bookish favourites of 2020 ❤❤❤
Hello! I have never written a fanfiction. I wrote a couple of pieces for my college magazine but that is all the writing experience I have.
Now, I have a veeeeerrrryyyy ambitious storyline and it very layered. I love building the story and the scenes within. But whenever, it comes to writing it, I am paralyzed.
A friend suggested that I start writing one-shots to practice writing. However, I cannot think of anything other than the aforementioned story. So, what should I do?submitted by /u/pearl_sparkle
So far I’ve written two stories for one fandom that I’m pretty happy with. There’s room for a third story that will close it off, but I wasnt too worried about writing it.
I’m nearly a third through a different longfic that I’m pretty invested in, but I’ve recently had inspiration on how to start my third and final story for the first fandom. I want to churn out the third story but I’m worried that if I don’t finish the first draft of my longfic first then I’ll lost steam and not finish it.
I want to publish the third story first to keep the stories all neat and tidy and I want to start publishing the longfic in August for meta reasons.submitted by /u/CGWicks
One of the best movies I’ve ever seen ❤️
The Truman Show (1998)
dir. Peter Weir.
I’ve had one fic for my main fandom kind of blow up (it’s currently sitting pretty at about 1,3K kudos and over 8K hits, which is not, like, massive for this fandom but it’s still really good), but everything I’ve posted after that for the fandom has gotten significantly less attention. I know feedback isn’t everything, and I personally really like those stories, but it’s disheartening to go from that to 75 kudos.
Now my issue is that I’m finally almost done with a fic that I’ve put A Lot of time and energy into for same fandom. It’s really good, and objectively it should push just about every button the fandom has (I accidentally shoved in, like, almost every single one of the most popular ships. It wasn’t my goal but here we are. Also my headcanons mostly align with the most popular ones), but I’m really scared that it will just go almost completely ignored. I know I write for myself but I’m tempted to leave the whole thing just for myself because I don’t want it to end up like most of my fics.submitted by /u/sparklingdeadly

Why ‘WandaVision’ Needed to Be a TV Show and Not the Next MCU Movie
WandaVision is finally out, and the Disney+ show is garnering praise for it’s outside-the-box storytelling style within the larger MCU. The series, released in half-hour installments, mimics the look and feel of classic sitcoms through the ages, even as viewers get hints of a bigger, sinister story going on behind the scenes. In a recent interview, MCU showrunner Kevin Feige revealed two major…
Trishna tells about her dedicated preparation …
Mani Ratnam’s dream project ‘Ponnin Selvan’ landed in Thailand in December 2019 and most of the participating areas were shot in the jungle there by Karti, Jayam Ravi, Jayaram and others. The coronavirus epidemic forced a nine-month break for the project and now the crew is back in Hyderabad.
Trisha, who plays Kundwai, is all set for her role and she has said that she is doubly happy to read…
To be honest … i don’t know.
I usually revisit fandoms regularly (f.e. Hannibal, Dishonored, Mass Effect, The Eagle) so i won’t rule out coming back to Eastenders.
BUT ee was/is different to me than all my other fandoms: when i was an active part of the fandom, i watched ONLY ee, it was the only thing for me. And it was stressful. My closest friends even told me how unusual this was for me. Eastenders consumed me and i don’t want that to happen again.
The Luisa you’re experiencing on tumblr right now is the real me: jumping from fandom to fandom, having fun for some time, moving on, returning to past fandoms and so on.
