King Arthur and the Swan Princess
For Artie I made two refs one based on concept art from Shrek 4 and the other is based on Fiona's dress in the first film. I also gave him brown skin cuz fuck you that's why. For Rhodanthe I based jer outfits on the 1994 Swan Princess & Tiana, but with my own twist. The pink is her main color while blue represents water droplets.

Swan Princess
Outfit explorations using a fantasy Picrew. I've been slacking off so I'm putting myself back on track by focusing on my OCs.
Theme color is pink & red to represent romance and nature; ties her with Artie
Her outfit in shrek the third is simple. The red cape is an obvious nod to red riding hood. Since she spends most of her time in the woods her outfits are simple yet flowy.
Magic: fully becoming the Lady of the Lake, lots of petals since her dress is literally made of (lotus) blossoms
Shrek 4Ever: simple dress, red because she's representing Artie at the party
Post Canon/Regal: a blend of her old dress and Swan; still follows the petal theming
The little necklace belonged to the fairy godmotheg; Charming had given it to Gwynn who in turn gave it to Rhodanthe bc she technically fills the role if the royal mage now. Rho promises to take good care of it.

the idea of fiona being cursed randomly (us as the audience never discovering a reason this unknown witch put a spell on her), has always been so interesting to me. multiple times i've considered diving into writing a backstory, why she was cursed, why this witch decided fiona was destined for true loves kiss. i actually do have a whole load of headcanons and metas stored in the back of my brain, which in actuality would flesh it out and grant a reason why. but i have never put them to paper, nor will i ever, because i kinda love that we don’t know? (yeah it was probably just the writers once again belittling fiona over her male counterparts and deciding their stories were more important… but i ain’t gonna rant about that right now.) it aligns with good vs evil, the stereotypes that these films portray. fiona’s been raised on very straight forward beliefs that put her in that tower in the first place.
we never know what the witch’s motive was: was she plain evil, or was something else planned down the line? either way, far far away proved itself tenfold as a stick to the book kind of kingdom, keeping in line with all stereotypes and never drifting too far from fated paths. in fiona being cursed, harold immediately grew concerned regarding the stray of expectancy, and did everything in his power to get his daughter, his kingdom, and his own happily ever after back on track. rather than seeing how things might play out, he went to a well-known solution and beloved story: a fair maiden locked away in a tower. not actually knowing why the witch cursed fiona, ultimately reinforces the notion that far far away is a very closed minded kingdom (at least where the king is concerned, despite his own backstory). however all this unwillingly places fiona into the role of a princess like no other, the first strike of independence. she steps out of her destined pages, and rewrites her own story. and along that road, changes the entire mindset of those in higher positions in far far away. she gives lesser respected creatures a voice, advocates that being different is okay, and not only beautiful people deserve a happy ending.
i have also loved the idea that it could have been fairy godmother that cursed fiona as a little girl, under disguise as a haggard witch, in order to assure her sons place in far far away when both children grew up. then, she presented herself under a guise of goodwill, promoting this plan of locking fiona away in a tower for her own safety and security, setting the wheels in motion from the beginning. lillian and harold were so desperate for help, and she took that vulnerability for granted. which all this was not difficult given harold’s debt to her; she knew he would listen lest he risk himself and his position. (i genuinely don’t think lillian had much say in all this, but that is a rant for another time!) she waited until fiona was old enough, rather than cursing her as a baby. ‘when i was a little girl a witch cast a spell on me.’ old enough to know how to act and behave as a member of royalty, but still young enough to be moulded and naïve regarding some aspects of the world. that when she returned with charming, she would lack experience and knowledge of how to truly be a princess, given her isolation and separation from her people. thus, charming and godmother could shape her as they pleased, and gain proper reigns of far far away over carefully planned precision.
either way, cursed by fairy godmother or a random witch, fiona is never going to find out, and eventually she becomes okay with that. for a long time all she wanted to know was why. why her. why was she so different to every other princess out there. never knowing why she was cursed really does just strengthen her mindset because while she struggled with it for such a long time, it shaped her into who she is. there’s no grand backstory, she has nothing to truly blame, no one to seek revenge upon; she just needs to deal with it. furthermore, because it was random and seemingly an act of unjustified cruelty, it allowed fiona to break herself free from feeling like a victim, and get out of the tower when she did. it wasn’t destiny that cursed her, it wasn’t set in stone, her life wasn’t meant to exist in a lonely tower. if her parents had said from the beginning that it was supposed to be her story, those three stages (cursed, tower, rescue) then she would have been crafted to live like that. it would have been expected. alas, it wasn’t any kind of fate, so she really just gave a big middle finger to feeling like a victim, and took her story into her own hands!!

Before DOTCs came out and we only had the Guides characterization of Grey Wing, what were your thoughts on him/did you like him more then you now do?
I have spoken about this! My opinion is steadfast and unchanging. We were absolutely robbed.
The "wise" association is mostly based on BOTC's characterization. He's implied to be this battle-hardened strategist type who invented AND TESTED tactics for moorland warfare. This directly contradicts canon, where he's dead at age 2 in Path of Stars and came up with a grand total of like... 3 battle plans, not all of them taking place on the moor.
(*Shrek voice* he didn't even invent using drawings for battle positions)
Unfortunately, half of DOTC features Clear Sky as the antagonist, who Gray Wing considers fighting against to be fucjing illegal. As a result most of the arc is just him crying that his Dear Brother must believe he's doing The Right Thing, so actually we should all just calm down and do nothing.
(And... im sorry guys. I cannot sympathize with anyone who has ever said "wow dotc was so Batman The Brave And The Bold about killing characters and full of action!!" No it wasnt. The cats that die are 90% women so the boys can be more sad and most of the "action" is random, poorly paced, barely connected quicktime events. Rats, foxes, cars, fire, construction, etc. You poor people are starving.)
I guess the heart of my dissatisfaction is that it's supposed to be BATTLE CATS. Gray Wing whining about fighting his brother is annoying but also boring. Quicktime Events against foxes and cars aren't satisfying like a FIGHT is. Even the clashes against Slash and One Eye are underwhelming because we don't CARE about the safety of the just-introduced, no motivation, pure evil rogues!
(I mean... i did, because i wanted them to kill the main cast. But that's not a good thing.)
We could have had something fantastic, imo. Gray Wing being the sort of general who believes the best battle is one you never fight, and his brother Clear Sky believing that mercy is an investment in future foes. Huge battles between the groups, eventually sucking the whole forest into the conflict, and eventually resulting in the First Battle against all five Clans.
But nah they liked it more when Gray Wing bravely said, "noooo my brother's a good boy so fighting back makes us Just As Bad" and then doxxes his adopted kids like an idiot.

So, what are your favorite MLP ships? I don't know if you've already been asked this before, but meh
less about being asked, more about me posting them nonstop lmao;
#1 Sunlight - (Sunset Shimmer and Twilight Sparkle) Number one and two are interchangable due to my mood, because theyre both incredible, and easily fit on a "favorite ships of all time" list i could make for myself. Sunset and Twilight shipping is to me in general all about potential. And if im talking endgame, the show would have ended so, so much better, if there were two lesbians inheriting the night and day. These two are it, with flying colors. Going from rivals to friends to close friends to lovers that would do anything for eachother, to ruling the world in a golden age together, my goodness, this ship is like the chef's choice at a menu. I also may have written a large fanfic of how i would write an entire season of the show with Sunset on it, heheheheheh. Also worth stating, i concider Sunset x Scitwi To be on the same level, if not being the same ship, even if Scitwi is a diffrent character, if someone loves Twilight Sparkle, they would love her in all her versions. #2 Rarijack - (Rarity and Applejack) Did i say sunlight is the chef's choice at a menu? Rarijack is the whole fucking menu. What more can be said about the legend of how the most beautiful Unicorn and the strongest Earth Pony fell in love? The City girl x Country girl vibes are incredibly strong, the opposites attract is at it's PEAK, and both of these girls can easily concider themselves the luckiest women in the world for having the other. It was the first couple i shipped on the show when i watched passively, 'cause i instantly noticed their potential, and c'mon how couldn't anybody. They're the hydrogen bomb of mlp ships, and they could easily sustain an entire season on their back if it was about their love story, which is, painfully, not canon, like any of these ships. Also i'm literaly writing a fic that takes Shrek 1 and makes it about Rarijack and it's as dumbly amazing as it sounds #3 Startrix - (Starlight Glimmer and Trixie Lulamoon) Honestly this one is easy to ship because it's just endlessly funny. The biggest fail girl that almost destroyed the world falls for the only girl thats a bigger loser than her, and that is endlessly entertaining; specialy because compared to trixie, Starlight is the baddest bitch lmao, and they would hype eachother so much. (insert that post of loser ass gf being hyped up by other cool gf) And there's just an appeal to two unhinged women finding eachother and making eachother... better? worse? I think theyre both at their best when traveling together. #4 Flutterdash - (Fluttershy and Rainbow dash) Fun fact, i didn't ship this until i wrote "the return of midnight sparkle" i just had to write scenes with certain themes, and i realised it would be helpful to further the themes and plot and character development of the protagonist if Rainbow and Fluttershy were macking on eachother. And it grew on me! Daredevil girl and shy girl lift eachother up and improve eachother. Honorable mention: That one ship with with Cadance, Shining armor, and Chrysalis; because it is honestly funny as fuck; no matter how you spin it, be it cadance and chrysalis mack on eachother and shining tolerates it, or the Princess and the Queen have a silent rivalry as they try to be with their himbo, or even if the three of them gross together. it's always funny. (queue chrysalis with the "im not the stepdad im the dad that stepped up" shirt while playing with flurryheart)

Oh boy, Hazbin's episode one is finally out.. here are my thoughts on it.
Tumblr media
Before I start, I'mma just say, I'm so happy that they actually posted the first episode on YouTube, cuz there's absolutely NO WAY I am paying to watch this shit on Amazon Prime, hell nah. That's good money being wasted on a shit show, no thanks. Anyway, let's move on.
Warning: minor spoilers!
***
Alright so the first episode, all I can say is, it's a rough start. I have SO MANY things to talk about that I feel like this post is going to be extremely long. So bear with me my friends. To make things simple I'll just number everything for y'all cuz I'm such a nice person :)
1) Introduction..
I'mma be real with y'all here, I'm noticing a pattern with Vivziepop's shows in terms of episodes. Like, the thing I don't like about Hazbin Hotel right now is that they do nothing to establish the characters at all!
You have to watch the Pilot (and I guess do some research) to understand the characters a little better, but the thing with Viv is that she claims that the Pilot episode isn't canon, and that "you shouldn't watch it" because it doesn't count.
And yet, she doesn't even bother to introduce the characters in the first episode! So if you're watching this show for the first time, you won't understand what the characters motives are or their personalities. She literally did the same thing with Helluva Boss! And now she's doing it here, and it bothers me so much.
And don't come at me saying "Oh but that's the point of the show, we'll get to know about them later!" Like, the characters talk to each other as if they had already met before, which means that we won't get introduced to them. They're just there in the series with no explanation.
Moving on..
2) The characters..
Oh my god, where do I even begin? The characters are terrible- I absolutely dislike every single one. They completely butchered them all.
I'mma start with Adam because holy shit he's the worst one of all, he literally serves no purpose in the show, other than to talk about himself and stroke his massive ego in front of Charlie. Not only this but his character design is so stupid- nothing about him screams "I'm an angel, I'm supposed to be the good guy here!".
Alastor just sucks. He's such an asshole in this series and he doesn't care about anyone at all. Like, I get that he was kind of sadistic in the Pilot I guess, but that's because he was meant to be intimidating and someone not to be messed with. But here he's just a super powerful guy who really likes old timey shit, and he's a dick to everyone for no reason.
Angel Dust all he does is be horny 24/7 which really isn't a good personality trait. I mean, he's a porn star, I get it, but he doesn't have to be spewing sex jokes all the damn time, it's annoying.
Vaggie is boring as hell, and honestly it doesn't even feel like she's dating Charlie, she feels more like a weirdly overprotective older sister if anything- plus their relationship feels forced in.
Nifty has been reduced to a weird yandere type character and honestly it's super lame. She deserves better.
*Edit: Vaggie also has no redeeming qualities, or a personality at all. She's literally just Charlie's girlfriend, that's it. There's nothing else about her. She doesn't have a single purpose other than to be Charlie's girlfriend.
Next up..
3) The voices..
Oh boy, some of the voices are not that great to be honest. I still don't like Alastor's voice, he sounds like if Shrek had a congestion and tried speaking with a higher pitch. Angel Dust's voice is TERRIBLE, it's so irritating to listen to- like, you can tell the voice actor is really forcing himself to sound like the Pilot VA. But it doesn't come naturally to him! Angel Dust's voice cracks so many times and it sounds so annoying.
This one is just a personal opinion but I really don't like Husk's voice. Like, I kinda miss his old voice because he actually sounded like a drunk old man, but here he just has your typical black guy who works at a casino kind of voice. (Literally, if King Dice from Cuphead had a deeper voice). Like, the voice is good, don't get me wrong, Keith David is an amazing voice actor, it's just that his voice doesn't suit Husk in my opinion.
Oh, and don't get started on Brandon Rodgers voicing Katie Killjoy- I swear to god I just wanna rip my ears off. I hate Brandon, okay? No offense but the guy's voice is annoying, he's not funny at all- I am so disappointed that they cast him to voice Katie, she deserves so much better!
Charlie's voice is alright, I mean she sounds like your typical quirky Disney princess. Vaggie sounds incredibly monotonous and Nifty sounds off, it almost sounds like the VA is using a microphone with a different quality than everyone else.
Furthermore..
4) The songs..
So there're two songs in this episode, and yeah they're boring. Basically, both songs are kinda like a rip-off of "Inside of every demon is a rainbow" from the Pilot, as they are both fast paced and explain Charlie's motive with the whole Hotel stuff.
But here the songs are divided in two, the first being "Happy day in hell". Which we've already seen countless of times in the trailers and whatnot. The song is a super Disney musical type of shit, which is alright I guess. But the second one "Hell is forever" sung by Adam is so unmemorable and boring. Yeah I personally didn't like these songs at all. I even ended up skipping through them when I watched the episode. That's how you know how bad they are.
And finally..
5) The comedy...
This show isn't funny guys. Viv's comedy isn't good and she genuinely doesn't know how to be funny. The only time I actually found a part of the episode funny was the scene where Vaggie was holding the camera while trying to make a commercial for the Hotel, and she asked Nifty to say some lines but all she did was just stand there blankly staring at the camera and not saying anything. That actually got a short chuckle outta me, but aside from that? Nothing else in the show is even remotely funny.
Alright that's it, that's all I have to say about the first episode. I'm done with this opinion post- If the other episodes get posted or leaked, I'll definitely watch them and give my opinion on them. Thank you all for reading and I'll see you next time!

Explorations of Rhodanthe
A bunch of outfits I created in Meiker for Rho. My idea is for her to wear basic dresses in her introduction, then on her quest she wears a shorter skirt. Her formal/wedding attire represents swans. Since she's a commoner her dresses aren't as intricate as Fiona's. She also has two braids, another distraction from Fiona's singular ponytail.
I do talk a lot about Gwynn but Rho is just as important to my rewrite. Literally, she goes from being in the background to being a real boat-rocker, a symbol of hope for fairytale creatures and humans alike. Fitting match for King Arthur ain't it? Link below:

Just need to figuer something out.
Death 1 was at the Running of the Bulls. He most likely hasn't met Kitty in that death. He died flirting so yes, they hadn't met. He may be a ladies man but I'm sure his mama taught him how to respect a woman he's in a relationship with.
Tumblr media
Death 2 was a poker game. Which is my favorite because he looks aesthetically pleasing to me.
Tumblr media
Death 3, drunk and falls off a tower.
Tumblr media
Death 4, buff Puss dies from weights.
Tumblr media
Death 5, canon incident. We know he's met Kitty at this point and they're most likely still a couple. Considering there didn't seem to be any bad blood between them.
Tumblr media
Death 6, shellfish.
And then 7, fire when baking with Gingy. At this point, we know he left Kitty at the alter and met Shrek.
Tumblr media
8th is bell.
Tumblr media
Ok! So we have a good hint of the timeline!!!
Puss grew up in an orphanage and meets Humpty. He gets mistaken for a their and is ram out of town.
Puss in Boots goes to this town and has his adventures. Hence the show.
Then he meets Kitty and reunites with Humpty, 1st movie. He's on life #2 here.
Then he meets the Tres Diablos. I'm assuming he was on life #2 or #3 at this point.
Then the Trident. Life #5 Assuming Kitty and Puss are together in this, this also means that he and Kitty were a couple when Puss jumped off a tower drunk. I'm sure Kitty didn't let him live that down. And this is a cursed thought. This also means they were a couple when Puss looked like this, life #4.
Tumblr media
I hope to God no but at the same time yes because he was probably tired of Kitty always beating him in every sword fight. 🤣
And now it's safe to assume he's on his 6th life when he leaves the wedding. I love this theory where when he runs away from the wedding, he hops on a boat and goes to Far Far Away on that same day. And considering he's a thief, I don't think he would have enough money to eat at a fancy restaurant. So he most likely lost his 6th life when he ate shellfish at the castle. Which I love because I can just imagine Shrek and Fiona watching their friend die at the dinner table. They panic for a moment only for him to come back to life. 😂
And then of course, his 7th life when he's baking with Gingy.
8th life, he decides to go back to his adventuring and visits Spain again. He dies from a bell.
9th and final life, The Last Wish. He goes back to see his friend's and of course, he'll introduce his wife and best friend to them.
BOOM!!!!
Time line down!!!!

Rhodanthe/Swan Lake concepts
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Follow up on the Gwynn outfit ideas here comes Rhodanthe!
Majority of her outfits have pink and red to signify her romance with Artie as well as her connection to nature (flowers)
Top row is her peasant outfits the one she wears for the majority of shrek 3
the second one is the one she wears when travelling with Shrek's party. I felt like she could have a forest ranger type aesthetic
Rho's "Rapunzel" outfit. Either she is forced to take over the role to protect her friends or she and Gwynn switch places so that Gwynn can help free the princesses and rho keeps an eye on Charming. The hair is a wig
Rho's dress after 3 it's just basically an updated version of her old one
At one point during fhe play battle Rho takes a sword to the knee, sacrificing ber life fir her live interest. Luckily she gets revived in the fountain.
The blue version is inspired by costumes for swan lake so lots of feathers!
On the other hand the green dress would form from the actual plants in the fountain (kinda like princess and the frog)
Formal/Ambassador garb since being the royal Girlfriend she wears a lot more expensive outfits. Red symbolizes her connection to Artie.
However she wears green to the triplets birthday signifying her closeness to the ogres (& the subject of her and Artie's argument)
I haven't made her outfit for the bad future yet
Post canon becoming princess consort/Queen consort

Based on this post by @fire-breathing-pain-in-the-neck!
Not sure if we're considering the Shrek novelizations canon, but the idea of fairy godmother marrying Merlin for his spells lives in my head rent free. You can infer so much from this piece of text; I have like eighteen theories 😭
Also I have been on this Shrek kick for a long time now and I have no clue when it's going to end. Idk when my page became a Shrek one but this is my life somehow. I JUST LOVE THESE MOVIES OK AND THERE’S SO MANY CHARACTERS I WANT TO DRAW!!!!
Here’s more Merlin drawings! (more bald this time - post level 3 fatigue)

thinking about fiona’s independence. the original two princesses ( snow and cinderella ) were forced to mature far too quickly, isolated from anyone who could help them grow, develop. forced to find kindness within themselves or in most cases, their animal friends. although they were surrounded by evil figures in their life, they knew what they wanted to get away from / who they didn’t want to be. integrated into a path of extreme hardship, they had goals and aspirations and ( although not human ) company. fiona only had herself. from seven to twenty seven, she had to learn absolutely everything on her own. she had to teach herself everything. yes, seven years were spent with her mother and father but, with an emotionally and physically distant father and the plain knowledge that she was different to who she was ‘supposed’ to be, set her back in terms of emotional growth. then, at age seven, hardly mature, unknowing why her parents, why her mother thought it best to be away from them, was put unwillingly into twenty years of isolation. the fact alone that she didn’t lose her mind in that tower is truly amazing.
relying only on herself, she didn’t even have a view out her window to see the world turn. as we see in shrek, when he and donkey climb the cliff top to actually make their way into the dragons keep, it’s immediately dark, as if it’s nighttime. where they’re clearly coming from the middle of the day; when the three of them leave, it’s day again outside that barrier. meaning fiona practically lived all those years in the darkness. unable to decipher when the sun would set. all of a sudden her body would change, and she’d be an ogre; just knowing she could add one more tally on the wall. her curse was always simple in terms of when she’d turn. at least she could prepare, count the hours until she turned human again. right? wrong. because of the tower, she couldn’t rely on the bare minimum. couldn’t be granted a little light. she had to be her own mother, her own carer, her own friend, her own educator. she had to grow up alone, assuming she would never be gifted any help whatsoever. “princess lonely, walking circles…” she relied heavily on her storybooks, tales of princesses living their happily ever after. but they lost their meaning and substance over time too, because why did everyone else get a happy ending and not her? she had to be her own comforter. cry on her own shoulder. wipe her tears away because no one else was going to. her favourite stories became useless.
i also firmly believe she taught herself defence skills when she reached early teenage hood. every day the question would ponder through her mind, completely obsessive: what if her prince charming arrived at night? what if he saw her, an ogre, the monster of the fairytale, and attempted to slay the beast that’s surely eaten the awaiting princess? she had to prepare herself for an intrusion. “when one lives alone, one has to learn these things, in case there’s…” fiona had to be both defender in case this ever happened, and the dutiful princess waiting on a stranger to save her. when she never should have had to be either. relying on someone else is always going to be a strange feat for her. even if she lives to become an old woman, it’s still twenty straight years of particular and specific integration. she can trust, yes. she can let people in and connect with them. but she never expects anything to be done for her, and will never request it. frankly she wouldn’t know how. her perception of trust is very frayed and warped. she’s accustomed to being the only person dependable; it becomes a form of processed habit, never asking for assistance. it’s a habit very very difficult to break.
also on that note. the one time she did rely on someone, it didn’t go the way it was supposed to. in my main verse, she relies on her prince charming to get her out of the tower: he never comes. she gets herself out. and then in shrek, she’s literally rescued by an ogre. it’s a complete slap in the face to everything she ever believed / relied on, which makes those twenty years just feel like a waste of time. her dependence failed both times, so she only counts on herself.
