Ash and Ibe's dynamic is so underrated, which is understandable because we don't see much of it.

But in the five stories (03) "Other voices, Other rooms" we see more of Ash and Ibe together and it's probably my favorite because their interactions are so wholesome 🥺

Here are my favorite moments:

We get a tiny little bit more information on just HOW bad Eiji's mental state must have been in Japan with Ibe saying that bringing Eiji to the US was an "emergency evacuation"

No but seriously Ibe uses words like "abducted" to describe how he got Eiji out of there

So despite literally being in life-threatening danger CONSTANTLY, Ibe confirms that he has never seen Eiji any happier UHM

Also Ibe says Eiji seems more lively ESPECIALLY around Ash 🥺🥺🥺

Literally right after Ibe tells Ash that Eiji has changed (for the better) you can hear the most SOFTEST gasp from Ash I'M CRYING

"Have you had Ei-chan tell you anything about Japan?"

"Gomen."

Ibe teaching Ash Japanese except it's an Osakan dialect, which already has some differences to the "standard" Tokyo dialect but even better; some of the words Ibe teaches him are usually only heard in Osaka,,,, Ibe is literally teaching Ash old slang

ON TOP OF THAT Ibe explains these are popular Japanese phrases "right now" which,,,, sorry Ibe you're just getting old LMAO

"Hey don't teach me anything weird. I won't remember it anyway." Meanwhile 20 episodes later and Ash can perfectly reminisce all japanese phrases Ibe taught him to Eiji 💀

Ash is so cute here 🥺 he's repeating the phrases to himself and actually takes it seriously to pronounce them right

Max walks in and Ash IMMEDIATELY starts using the new phrases and Max is just like "wtf"

Max "I can at least speak Japanese" followed by random japanese words that don't have any connection BAHAHA

The only coherent sentence Max forms is "Please don't touch the dancers." Max wtf did you do 🤨

At the end Ibe is scared how Eiji will react when he finds out what he has been teaching Ash 😭

Highly recommend y'all to check it out and the other parts too !!! It's healing for the soul

I’ve watched the fifth episode of “Banana Fish”. (Spoilers!) Ash is released from prison, is picked up by Ibe, Eiji and Charlie then threatens Ibe and Charlie with a gun and then Eiji, who feels that now it’s his deal too, hijacks the car and they go to pick up shorter, some guns and a truck from some Chinese mafia. Then they take this truck to a restaurant owned by Dino and which is used as a place to sell children sex slaves (amazing), Shorter drives the truck and Ash rides on top and tries to shoot Dino, but gets shot by Arthur (nothing too bad), who’s there with Papa because he works for him now. So, they just run, Shorter protects Eiji (who's unable to shoot), Max joins them and saves them, they jump off a bridge and swim away and Max takes them to his “hideout”. I have to remind you how cool action scenes are: they are very cool! It’s still very dramatic, because firstly, Ash still cries over Griffin and because when he speaks of those children, Dino sales, he says “like me”, which means that he was actually caught on the street and sold and then held as a sex slave… I don’t even want to think about how much traumatized he is.

If im being honest, it's not even the fact that he died. I could've accepted that, could've been okay with that, but he died alone. I wonder if Eiji finds out. I’ve finally uploaded my next chapter for “Another Missed Flight” It’s called “Family First”

I would never have thought I’d write 20 chapters for this story and it’s not nearly finished.

This one was a bit personal because I used some personal experiences for this story.

It’s about Eiji’s mom blaming Ibe for not protecting Eiji and confronting Ash with his past.

I’ve watched the sixth episode of “Banana Fish”. They decided to make things even more dramatic. The whole company moves from Max’s hideout to Ash’s home. A real home, where he lived as a child and where his father with a wife – Jennifer still lives. We get to know more about Ash’s family, for example, he and Griffin are only half-brothers, they have different mothers. Ash’s and his father don’t have good relationships – the father can’t say a simple word to his son, he only yells, he accuses him of all sins and says that if any of his “friends” sleep with him, they have to pay. Well, later after Max tells him that he was Griffin's friend and they served together, the father tells a story of Ash's childhood: he was raped by a baseball trainer, everybody in the village loved. Police did nothing and victim-blamed him (a seven-year-old boy!). Well, father told him, that if something like this happens – don’t fight, but make the abuser pay. Ash was assaulted more by the same coach, but a year later shot him with father’s gun. Police found child bones in the coach’s basement. To protect the boy against the rumour, the father sent him to live with his sister, but Ash ran away, was caught by Galzine and we know what happened next. They thought Ash was not enough traumatized? Seriously? Now they want us to think that he’s okay? Well, getting back to the plot – Dino’s people find them and take Ash’s family hostage, but he’s not so easy himself: he puts up a fight, Shorter and Max help him, but Jennifer is killed and Ash’s father shot (but still alive) and now our company has to leave as fast as possible, Ash is afraid that his father can die too. To continue their investigation about Banana Fish they go to Los Angeles, to see what’s on that mysterious address given Ash by a dying man (they’ve also seen this address written in the photo album near the picture of a man who killed Griffin (turns out, they had served together)). It’s only a fourth part of the series and so many events have already happened!

Banana fish actor au to cope with the show cuz my feels

-It's a reboot of an 80's show that was based on the manga

-2018 Shunichi actor is 80's Eiji actor

-He painted his hair black for the role

-2018 Eiji is his cousin

-2018 Eiji has acted in some doramas and even voice acted for some animes

-2018 Ash has only done some minor roles, it's his first time playing as a protagonist

-it's 2018 Sing-Soo Ling debut, he's a transboy

-2018 Eiji does his own stunts, the pole vaulting scene? That was all him, hes also a great runner, he's the official cann opener of the crew (his body is well trained, my sweet Jock son)

-Ash decided that he too wanted to be capable of doing his own stunts (he would not loose to Eiji, friendly rivalry!) but he has never been very sportive, so he started going to the gym and training together with Eiji (who gladly helps him)

-Shorter is actually pretty shy and has a rather 'simple' sense of humor (he'll laugh at pretty much anything)

-Eiji is just so full of energy, he'll run to where they record and stuff like that

-Sing-Soo Ling is and edgy teenager in and out of character (they pretty much casted Sing-Soo Ling to play as Sing-Soo Ling) tho he's more relaxed and less edgy out of character

-Sing-Soo Ling likes to play pranks on everyone

-Shunichi and Max like to take the boys out to drink from time to time just to buy them glasses of milk; Eiji can drink alcohol and rubs it on the other's faces (Ash is almost there tho)

-Eiji is a smooth flirt, with Ash and only Ash

-The crew enjoys redoing vines, one time time Ash sang to Max "you are my dad, you're my dad!"

-Max and Jessica are married, Michael is their child

-Jessica is just SO sweet, everyone loves her, tho she won't deal with anyone's bs

-The 'I'm afraid of pumpkins' thing wasn't planned, Ash and Eiji were chilling on the set, chatting, not know if they weren't alone, it was break time, someone was just passing time with the cameras and ended up recording them talking for funsies, they decided to keep it cuz everyone loved it (much to Ash's disgrace)

-Eiji refers to his and Ash's visits to the gym as their 'gym dates', he'll post photos of them on twitter

-Eiji is the one who uses his social media the most (close followed by Arthur) and shares pretty much everything (but spoilers) with the fandom

-Eiji and Ash went to the NY public library together in a date, it's one of the dates Eiji doesn't post photos about (tho he did post where and with who he was going to be) and someone (Arthur) took a photo of them kissing and posted it on internet

-Yut-Lung is the most sensitive of the bunch, he's also Banana Fish #1 fan, he cries all the time while watching it, he even posts react videos and he's like "I already know what's going to happen but it's so sad"

-Arthur is everybody best bro, he'll help and practice with everyone, he also, rashes Asheiji's gym dates from time to time to get fit with them; also he's #1 Asheiji shipper and posts about it all the time

-Shunichi thinks Asheiji is cute but he'll protect his cousin's (non existent) innocence and purity, or that was until he found Eiji cornering Ash

-Sing-Soo Ling will yell 'get a room' to Ash and Eiji at every given opportunity (soft glances? Get a room! Their hands grace each other? Get a room!)

-They make jokes about Goldzine being everyone's sugar daddy

-Goldzine is a sweet old man, #1 grandpa if the crew

-Golzine acted as Max in the 80's

-Goldzine makes a lot of jokes about putting them in his will and what will each of them get once he finally dies

-Yut-Lung has tried to adopt Sing-Soo Ling no less than 5 times

Another Missed Flight- chapter 1:

Diversion: Stage 1 - Escaping from the airport

He didn't know what had happened to Ash while he was in the hospital, but he knew that he would blame himself for letting I him get injured during the sudden attack. That must also be the reason why he hadn't come to the airport to see him off. He always thought he only put Eiji in danger and that Eiji would never be safe as long as he would be by Ash's side. It was Ash's way to protect him and to make sure that he was safe by not seeing Eiji off himself. Eiji knew that even though no one else apparently did.

But he still couldn't shake the feeling that something bad would happen. But what could he even do? Being tied to a wheel chair he couldn't just leave the airport, go back to Manhattan and look for Ash. Ibe and Max would stop him and as powerless as he was he couldn't do a thing anyway. Ash said he knew how to fly but now he couldn't even walk properly, let alone run. Damn! If he were able to do that he would've already left by now even if he 'd miss another flight. By now he must be on the Japan Air missing flights most wanted watch list or something.

Just when he was about to drown in self-pity he saw Sing walking towards him. But something wasn't right, Eiji noticed right away. Sing tried to hide it but unlike Ash he's never been good at concealing his true emotions.

"What happened? Did you meet Ash? Did you give him my letter?", Eiji asked.

"Yes, don't worry, I met up with him and gave him your letter. Everything's fine."

"You're a lousy liar. Tell me what's wrong. Now, Sing!"

Sing sighed. "Well, I gave Ash your letter and asked him why the hell he wasn't coming to see you off himself. He just said he wanted you to return to your world far away from all the weapons and the violence. He said he wasn't going to see you because he was your friend. But it wasn't the Ash I knew, it was as if he had given up and nothing mattered to him anymore. His whole body was trembling really hard and even I could hear the pain in his voice. It scared the shit out of me, I've never seen him like that.

It's just ... I don't know... I just have a bad feeling, you know?"

"I know what you mean. And I knew that Ash probably wouldn't come. It's his way of protecting me. He thinks it's safer for me without him being here. However, I have the very same feeling. But how am I supposed to leave here? Don't you see the pathetic state I'm in? How can I help you? I can't even walk!", Eiji said in a painstricken voice.

"My motorcycle is parked just outside. The only thing you have to do is hold on to me. Are you ready to get into some more trouble for our favorite bad boy?" he said grinning mischievously.

"That made Eiji actually smile for the first time in days. "But what about Ibe and Max? There's no way they let me go with you!"

"I'll explain the situation to Ash's gang standing over there and ask them to create a diversion for us."

"Ok, then, but that has to be a pretty good one if you want to fool Max. He's pretty observant and clever."

"That's where you come in. You have to distract Ibe and Max by talking to them, ok? Just engage them in a conversation for 5 minutes and draw their attention to you. After that pretend you want to look around at the book store and when I give you a sign meet me at the entrance where you'll ditch that wheelchair for a really cool motorcycle.", he said, a wicked grin on his face.

"All right, Eiji said a smile lighting up his face. Let's pull one last crazy and unforgettable stunt together!"

Well, here goes nothing. Eiji really hoped he could pull this off.

He drove his wheel chair over to Ibe and Max and after some small talk about Jessica and his son he asked Max if he knew what had happened to Ash and the others while he was in the hospital. He had a feeling that Ibe hadn't told him the whole story since he had still been recovering and hadn't wanted him to get upset.

Realizing Eiji couldn't pull a crazy stunt while sitting in a wheelchair, Max told him what he knew: that Foxx had shot Dino and had fought against a still injured Ash and that Foxx had been killed by Dino in the end who then had fallen down the building and had died as well. He also told him how Blanca had shot down the helicopter that was supposed to be Foxx's means of escape and that Ash had saved Sing but had lost the suitcase full of evidence concerning the Banana Fish incidents by doing so.

Eiji was shocked. He really couldn't believe that he missed so much and that Ash had been this close to dying again without him even knowing it. Why was he always suffering this much? Now he was even more determined to go see him again but to do that he had to stay calm and behave according to plan. So after some more talking he told both of them that he wanted to go to the book store to look for some English books for the flight.

They bought his lie easily which made him wonder when he learned to lie like that. Ash must really have rubbed off on him.

When Sing gave him the sign he drove to the entrance around the corner while at the same time something was exploding at the other side and an alarm was going off. Before Eiji knew what had happened on the other side both of them sat on Sing's motorcycle driving downtown as fast as possible.
