I might be the only person who thinks this, but I don't care. It's been eating me alive.

I think Jace and Kit look alike but the similarities stop at like, general familial resemblance. Especially when Kit actually grows up. Like they share the same nose and furrow of their brows and strangely enough their laugh. But that's where it ends. I've always imagined Jace as like a rugged handsome: with a strong jaw, heavy brow, wide shoulders, and mostly upper body mass (but we all this man does not skip leg day, we've seen him jump). You know like, very MASCULINE beauty.

But Kit has always been this soft blend of feminine and masculine in my head. Because Herondales are notoriously handsome/gorgeous in a powerful way but it mixes with the general androgenous, ethereal beauty of the fae to make something just right between the binary where people look at him and have to think. Like he has high cheekbones and full lips to accompany his sharp jawline and dark eyebrows. And he's definitely leaner than Jace is, a body made for running and slipping between enemies rather than facing them head-on.

And maybe I like the idea of Kit being a little defensive as everyone loves to compare him to Jace so when he gets all prickly with Ty about why he finds him attractive, Ty just lists a dozens ways that he and Jace don't look alike (because of course out of anyone, Ty would notice those things) and Kit just sits there like :o

I may not fully believe in manifestation, but I'm out here hoping/wishing/praying for a happy ending for Kit and Ty in The Wicked Powers.

Here’s to them settling down in a remote cottage tucked in some picturesque countryside surrounded by endless fields of heather and grasses. A tiny place where Ty can care for chickens (that Irene dutifully guards) and maybe a particularly sweet cow; where Kit can cultivate the kind of garden that would make his mom proud. Something all their own where they can make meals together–always should-to-shoulder in their small kitchen, finally get through all the Lord of the Rings movies and Ty’s Sherlock Holmes collection, and fall asleep under far too many blankets; fingers overlapping beneath the covers.

Out of it all, they deserve a place to just be. Finally away from the constant life-threatening battles and foreboding prophecies, they can simply be two kids in love. Slow dancing in their bedroom to songs crackling through Ty’s headphones, getting wine drunk while watching trashy mundane reality tv that Kit has to admit even he doesn’t understand sometimes, and talking walks around the countryside while Ty rattles off facts about any wildlife that crosses their path. They travel all across the world to see their family for holidays, birthdays, and simple get-togethers but their home is only for them. 

It’s peace, despite all that it took to get there. Maybe there’ll be another disaster come five years. Maybe a rogue faerie will come out of the woodwork to finish what was started. Maybe one of Ty’s investigations will go south far too fast. Maybe some other teenager will be found with powers unimaginable and devastating. But for now, they have each other in fraying loungewear and matching inky black runes over their hearts, and it’s enough.
